[Image description: Two digital drawings, both of my OC Fitz (they/he/it) set against a brick pattern background. The images are same except for their colors. The first drawing is in a limited palette of dark sage green, light sage green, medium yellow, medium orange, and dark red. The second drawing is in a limited palette of hot pink, navy blue, neon yellow-green, light sage green, and denim blue. Fitz is a young, fat, Eladrin with short undercut hair with a swirling pattern tattoo on the shaved side. They are wearing an open coat that goes down to their hips and boxer shorts, with no shirt beneath the coat. His hands are both at his sides, with one in the pocket of the coat. He is facing towards the right and looking off in the distance with a soft smile. End description.]
Why finish prepping for my game tomorrow when I could be drawing Them?

I am sitting down on the number block carpet I want to hear about him
Bob is an eldritch monster (I've just been calling their species Worldeaters, I don't have any plans to change the name) that eats planets and rocks in general (Stars too but that's a rare snack).
He was laid on Earth sometime during the end of Precambrian Era. And hatched a year BEFORE the Cambrian Era officially started. His parents kind of just left him there (due to their species they can't exactly stay with him, they do visit sometimes though!) with a babysitter so he wont be completely alone growing up.
Bob's just kind of vibing on Earth until he reaches maturity :)

[image description: a drawn fantasy map of a collection of islands called the Triskele. Brief description of each island as follows. Iournia: large, forested and mountainous; the Chiefdom of Ord: large, with forests, mountains and a stonehenge; Ellan Vannin and Arnorica, mid-sized with mountains and a large marsh; the Ethuveraz: large with lots of forests and mountains; Barizhan: connected to the Ethuveraz via a mountain range, a desert; Taurun: small and forested; Carantos: small, featuring a crater and spider webs; Scarra Brae: mid-sized, snowy, with mountains and a large lake; Golden Isle: small, snow tundra; Ritona: small, slightly snowy tundra, mountain range and fjords. Sea features: a whirlpool called The Red Cataract; a bay called Olina; a sea between a bunch of islands called The Crossroad; a large sea called Giantfall; tiny islands called The Broken Bones. End ID.]
whew, this is mostly done, probably! i spent the last four and a half days doing nothing but drawing this map, where my next ttrpg campaign will be set. the triskele is one continent (??? i honestly don't know what to call a collection of islands like this) of the world called the known shores. (yes, i will be drawing the other continents too; yes, i have a problem.)
a few notes!
i stole the names "the ethuveraz" and "barizhan" from the goblin emperor books because the names are dope.
many of the other names are pulled from irish/celtic history and geography.
i drew everything by hand, but i followed a lot of the tutorials located here, which i highly recommend!
this was made for my personal home game, not for commercial use. but feel free to use any/all of it in your own personal home games, idgaf.

i sincerely think it’s a terrific literary experience to read something that makes you feel like you’ve learned something extremely profound but can’t explain in the slightest. ursula k le guin said “the artist deals with what cannot be said in words . . . the artist whose medium is fiction does this in words: the novelist says in words what cannot be said in words.” the paradox of that is in itself amazing. i love to read a thing that is — not confusing, that’s not the right word, because confusion can make you feel helpless. rather, something that transmits to me some depth of meaning that i can’t begin to explain. i feel like i’ve touched or heard resonant truth, but what the heck was it? i know it, but i can’t put it into words.

Sometimes I think about how Elijah is a normal person in most other verses. In some of them his mom survives and takes care of him. In some of them his dad doesn't act Like That to him and they have a good, if a bit distant, relationship. In some of them he doesn't end up disliking his talents because of abuse, but rather uses them as a hobby or even pursues a job in the field of his own volition. Meanwhile Tobias gets the same parents every time, in every verse, over and over again. In some of them his parents die again and he's picked up by another variant of Wammy's House. In some of them they live and he remains with the family/takes over their business. In some of them they die and he isn't found by a Wammy's House variant, which leads him into a life of crime even after escaping his parents.

Ya girl just tried to get tickets for Joe hisaishi conducting the CSO in Chicago this June, lemme tell you that the cheapest ticket was 500 and I almost actually went through with it, I talked myself onto the ledge like “once in a lifetime experience, one of the living greats, live 2024 like 2014 me would’ve dreamed of”…
until the “”””service fees””” brought the total to seven hundred and twenty fucking dollars
720
I????
so that is not a price I could swing and I did not go through with it, and now I am sad. I guess when we complain to each other “concert tix are mad expensive”, we may have to start clarifying how expensive on a sliding scale from “a single night’s stay in a shitty airbnb” to a “wholeass international round trip flight”. If I waited for the man to perform in Japan again I could deadass fly to Japan and it would be cheaper than this
