'Whisper Me a Love Song' Anime Adaptation Teaser Released; Additional Cast Revealed

On Friday, a teaser promotional video for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Eku Takeshima's Whisper Me a Love Song (Sasayaku You ni Koi o Utau) was uploaded to the anime's official website and YouTube. The teaser features lead voice actresses Hana Shimano and Asami Seta in their roles as Himari and Yori, respectively.

The anime is set to premiere in January 2024. It is the directorial debut of Xin Ya Cai, who previously directed episodes of The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, Lapis Re:LiGHTs and served as assistant director of Starlight Promise. It is animated at studio Cloud Hearts (The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) with production supervision by Tokohama Animation Lab.

Additional staff includes script supervisor Hiroki Uchida and character designer Minami Yoshida.

On March 17, a post on the anime's website announced other cast members who will appear alongside Hana Shimano and Asami Seta in the anime. They include:

Whisper Me a Love Song is a high school Yuri romance manga following energetic first-year Himari. During the welcoming celebration for new students, Himari hears Yori's band perform and instantly falls in love with her singing. When she has the opportunity to meet Yori, Himari instantly confesses her love, and to her surprise, Yori says she loves her back! But soon, both girls realize they are experiencing different kinds of love and begin to explore their true feelings for each other and what they might mean.

The anime is based on the manga of the same name by Eku Takashima, which has been serialized in Comic Yuri Hime since April 2019. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English and is set to release the seventh volume this June.
