If you're a fan of The Notorious B.I.G., then you should know. This is whom he and DJ Premier (!!!) sampled from for "The Ten Crack Commandments": Les McCann's "Vallarta". Now, listen to the rest of the original. It's pure magic.

Sure, J.G. Geils' Band's "(Angel Is A) Centerfold" and The Cars' "Shake It Up" became my very first two music memories living in Borough Park. But, records like these are truly the music of my childhood. I'm discontented to say that I had to wait years later to discover this stuff, when two of WUSB's hip-hop dee-jays had a sampling war and played this along with Bob James ('Taxi'), Richard 'Groove' Holmes', Galt McDermott, The Crusaders, and three Lonnie Liston Smith songs that forever changed me. That was during one Summer when I quit my toxic retail job, and plans to meet someone in Ocean City fell through at the last minute.

I can also credit Layers and River High River Low as other albums of his that were there for me when I was going through some pretty rough and decisive moments in life - both also during the Summer months.

R.I.P. Les McCann.

once more reading a big fat typography book in the school library instead of studying and every so often it strikes me how similar the genshin font is to garamond in places. maybe this is a "guy who's only really stared at serif fonts for the last three months" kind of situation tho

they are all within $5 of each other in price. the le monde ones are better value but i also have one le monde perfume and it doesn't last long unless you double spray

J'ai pas quitté ma job parce-que j'suis sad booboo, mais parce-que j'ai straight up eu de la visite un peu trop évidente pis j'ai juste fait ce que je fais d'habitude, mais cette fois là personne était en uniforme, comme...clever, mais tsé, une madame qui mène une étude en marketing sur toi? Intéressant comme approche, mais pas assez.

What websites do you purchase your perfumes/fragrances from? <3

there isn't a specific website i use yet because i'm still new to perfumes but i love walking around sephora and sampling some of the collections they have in store (especially the ones from maison margiela's replica line, jo malone, and tom ford) and i also love le labo and diptyque 💗
