I feel really bad for League of Geeks. They put out 2 stellar digital board games that fully make use of the computerized aspect but just can't find the marketing space to really promote their games, and thus have had to go through slews of layoffs only to shutter the company a few months after Solium Infernum gets released. Feels like some really talented developers and designers got shafted by the economy, I really hope they can find meaningful work elsewhere

Armello and Solium Infernum developer League of Geeks has announced Jumplight Odyssey, a roguelite colony simulation game inspired by genre staples and classic 70s science-fiction anime for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. It will launch first in Early Access for PC via Steam in 2023 with support for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) language support.

“Jumplight Odyssey marries the aesthetic of iconic science-fiction anime with colony management sims and roguelite sensibilities to create a charming and challenging experience,” said co-founder and director Trent Kusters. “Whether you’re interested in space opera melodrama between crew members, careful resource management, colony building systems, or ‘just one more run’ action, Jumplight Odyssey has something for everyone, and we’re thrilled to recruit captains for our Early Access launch in 2023!”

Your crew interact with each other as brothers, sisters, lovers, friends and rivals. Hopefully a little less of the latter, but we’re not making any promises.

Battle against hostile boarding parties and scramble your starfighters to defend against intergalactic invaders!

Your journey is a treacherous one. Take lessons from each previous voyage, and retool your ship for new circumstances. Then try, try again.

Keep exploring the galaxy. Rerun your daring escape and discover new encounters, events, characters and challenges each time.

-Build. Repair. Optimize. Overcome.

Scratch your naval ship building itch: lay out optimum corridors, build efficient management processes, and decorate the spaces to your specifications.

Efficiently manage your resource production. From your water supply, to the ship’s gardens and farming spaces. You’ll need to optimize your systems to keep your ship and crew alive for as long as possible.

Inventory management in space: keep the hangar deck organized and warp core humming. Can your crew stock fridges and shelves in zero gravity? Actually we’re not sure if they can either. Good luck.

It is true that Vander here tried to advise her to avoid problems, but unfortunately Vi did not understand this advice at the time.

How could Vi understand it when her whole life was built on fighting?

Vi only knows how to fight. Since she was a kid, she fights to protect her sister and family, then she fights in prison to survive, and when she gets out of prison, she fights again to find her sister. So after everything Vi has been through, it's natural for her to find fighting as the only way to vent her anger and sadness.

Vi is one of the most tragic characters in the show. It is right that there are other characters who have gone through and will go through bad experiences, but Vi is the most suffering and miserable of them in the show.

I really hope her story ends well, because she deserves it.
