Your art looks so yummy and soft it tastes like soft ice-scream with different flavours for each character. GIVE ME MOREEEEEEEEEE
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPYYY!!! 💙💙💙💙💙
Tumblr media
HOW'D YOU KNOW!!!? No one has ever connected those dots for YEARS!!! 👀 See my headline? "With Love Of Every Flavor..." That's something I wrote in my adolescence which I just never bothered to change. It pertains to my posts and how I make them with love (you can cringe), but I also purposely used it to allude to- you literally guessed it- ICE CREAM!!! Which, according to my family, I was infamously obsessed with. STILL super obsessed with actually! (Tho in my defense, the Philippines is hotter than HELL rn.) So yes! I do see my own art as scoops of ice cream. Have been for- again -YEARS! Besides a "space bubble" for introverts -and people who simply love in a different flavor- to feel safe in, that's EXACTLY what I wanted my art to be seen as!!! Which is why I mostly draw sweet things. (Key word: Mostly.) I wanted to convey the giddiness I feel whenever I eat ice cream with my art. So hearing you say that, tho I know naming the taste of an artist's work isn't all that new, really feels like an achievement! THANK YOU!!! ...Okay. Now that you made it this far through my sappy sugar rush induced writing, I know I went off on a tangent, but since ya'll have been really hyping me up lately, how about an update? On my AU? Just a short and sweet reward? Nothing big. Not much lore, but let's saaaaay... it'll beeeee... today? 🫣 Hehe. More, indeed. ^v^ Stay Tuned~! -Bubbly💙

Mug cakes are so good actually they're like cakes except I don't have to go bake a cake. Then there were those little packet things like cake mix but for a mug cake and I think you were supposed to add water but I added milk (we only had almond milk actually idk how much of a difference that made) and like! The hot chocolate thing. It made it taste better and also I would add extra and it got really moist.

What would soccer family + school events be like? maybe a bake sale, helping prepare for a school dance, fundraiser, or a pta meeting?
Oohh, love this question!! And lemme resume it in two words. Chaotically good.
Bake sells are Mama's favorite things cause
1. Your tres leches cake and Flans are the top selling
2. Miguel ate once half a Flan that was meant to be put in the bake sell. (He loves Flan)
3. Mama would have to make an extra dessert for the family. All of you lot have a sweet tooth.
4. Even though you'd have to prepare two nights ahead, the smile on Gabi face and Miguel's caramel mustache so worthed it.
You'd have a table with your goods, not to brag but your desserts sure do attract people. Meaning, you're one of the top contributors.
Tres Leches, Flan, brownies, even some Pan de Muerto, and Chocoflan or impossible cake and sugar cookies.
Miguel would help you to cash out as you handed the packaged goods. Benji would be in his stroller close to you, and Gabi would also help in pack in the cookies.
If something didn't get sold, you'd eat it later or distribute it within Gabi's friends.
---
School dances are exhausting but so so fun. There was one time Gabi had to participate, and of course Miguel helped her to memorize the choreography. You'd be dying of laughter on the inside, but also melt at the fact a 6'9" man would act silly just for his little girl.
Of course you'd record every moment of Gabi on the stage. Benji would erupt in joy as everyone clapped. It was his own way to support his big sister.
---
Fundraisers were your least favorite things. Because that would mean car washes. Miguel had ended up soaked, shirt skin tight as he played with the hose with Gabi.
As accidental as it was, it surely attracted the wrong sort of attention.
It helped? Absolutely. Had you liked it seeing the not so subtle glances the other women gave him? At all. But Gabi had her fun and it was all that mattered to you.
----
PTA Meetings were the least of your activities. Ever since that meeting with Benjamin's teacher you and Miguel were cautious when a meeting approached. If Miguel wasn't able to go, you'd go.
Both took your children's education seriously.
Of course Benjamin's incident was reported and ever since then, the teacher had left him alone. Turns out that Benji wasn't the only one that had been a victim of her skewed ideals of dress code.
At the end you were grateful to know she was given a strict warning.
Still, somehow they amused you since even though you sat on the back to avoid blocking other parent's view, he'd still stick out like a sore thumb among the crowd.

Sean Diaz x Reader HCs:
Reader is Filipina
Tumblr media
Note: so sorry for not posting. First year of college and its kicking my ass a bit but at least i have As and Bs. This is a very obviously self-indulgent thing I wrote (b/c I think it is too often that the reader is assumed to be a white woman) to destress so uh… enjoy! Sorry again for falling off the face of the Earth.
fem!filipina!reader, fluff
-Yours and Sean’s family will get along pretty well
-Because Filipinos and Mexicans have such similar cultures (we in the colonized by Spain gang) your parent(s) warm up to Sean pretty quickly!
-You both share a mutual hatred for the Spaniard conquistadors.
-Comic misunderstanding of what the word “puto” means in Tagalog vs. Spanish
you bring some freshly steamed rice cakes (puto) that your mom made over to Sean’s house.
Sean and Esteban are sitting by the counter when you come in. You excitedly say “Hey! I brought puto, want to try?”
Both Esteban and Sean look at you with wide eyes.
”Would we like to try WHAT now?” ”puto!” you hold up the rice cakes, “Filipino rice cakes!”
Esteban starts smiling, trying to hold back his laughter.
Sean says, “Y/n, that is not what that word means.”
”That’s what it means in Tagalog. Does it mean something different in Spanish?”
Esteban is snickering at this point. “Yes. It means something very different.” He laughs harder.
Sean pinches the bridge of his nose.
After they explain to you what “puto” means in Spanish, your jaw drops.
”Oh my God I’m so so sorry I had no idea; it genuinely just means ‘steamed rice cakes’ in Tagalog I swear!”
Sean and Esteban both laugh. “Está bien, hija. It at least makes a funny story.”
-You call Sean “mahal ko” and Sean calls you “mi amor”
-He brings you Mexican food and you bring him Filipino food
-Like every non-filipino, he instantly LOVES lumpia when you first introduce it to him
-You mom made an extreme excess of lumpia, so she gave him a freezer bag full of premade lumpia rolls. You help him deep fry them one day after school (he wants to share with his dad and Daniel) and his whole house smells like frying oil afterwards.
-Both of you talk about similarities and differences between Tagalog and Spanish for funsies.
-Playful arguments on which country does leche flan better
-You introduce him to ube-flavored sweets
-One time you bring ube Otap cookies to their house and Daniel ends up gobbling them all up (to Sean’s dismay)
-Cursing at him in Tagalog thinking it would be funny but he understands the gist of what you said
“Putangina mo”
“Hey!”
“Hehehe”
-He teaches you Spanish and you teach him some Tagalog
-Agressive pinoy pride >:3
-he makes fun of you for being short (not our fault that the average height is 5’1!!!)
-Bonding over cultural similarities
-y’all are such an it couple bc poc4poc relationships that are also interracial are such a slay
I realize that the LIS2 fandom is already very niche (even within the LIS community) so these HCs are even more niche but… idc! Writing this made me happy lol.
I’ll try to fulfill some of the requests I got back in September! Sorry for not getting to them yet.
Hope you enjoyed! :3

Now I am waiting for a sign to buy gourmet cookies from them; I was torn cuz it's 180 pesos (probs about 4 dollars..?) for 8pcs lol
I think I need the sign fr

the ask game! for any oc
💛- how many languages does your oc speak? what language(s) are they learning, if any?
🍰 - what is/are your oc's favorite sweets)/ dessert(s)?
🤔- what are some of your oc's quirks/ mannerisms?
Long post ahead ::3 Answered for Pollux mostly with some other characters sprinkled in for one.
No art this time, sorry. Might reblog with some later !
💛- Pollux is the only character where this answer is interesting, ignoring Cy who is a self insert and speaks/is learning everything that I speak or am learning.
Pollux's family from his father's side are immigrants from another region of Flatland, hence the odd last name "Schwarz" that sticks out from between "Campbell", "Carver", "Smith" etc. Schwarz just sounded cool, there is no actual reference nor reason there. I do not think that they speak German or anything - German and English don't precisely exist in Flatland.
But different languages do exist, though mostly have been assimilated or only differentiated by their sound, and Pollux knows some of his family's mother tongue, though Hunter is much more fluent and Madelyn learned a bit of it to impress him. Pollux possibly quite regrets not learning more of it. Might know some bits of old dead tongues and ways of writing because he loves history! On that topic, he probably talks very awkwardly, more so than originally depicted, because he really loves those ancient styles and they mess with how he talks.
He also learns [post-TAoB] English and many Planiturth languages, also learns or helps create Exwhylian/Ypwherenian/Zetwhatian and other dimension's languages, and Thought Beyond Words for communication with those languages he doesn't know. He especially likes to learn old languages even now, even if that means older than time - would be funny to see the lil guy suddenly speak in the eldritch whispers of Voidspeak.
---
🍰- Pollux loooves anything he can bake. Well, except most normal types of cake. He prefers stuff like tres leches, cheesecake or flan over regular cake. He loves those! He also loves making them. While he'll gladly eat a slice of birthday cake or one or two cookies, I think he really prefers things with some moisture to them. Crunchy or dry things sadden him. He's a chocolate chip cookie enjoyer too. But I don't think he's fond of adding fruit to desserts unless its blueberries.
Bill isn't my oc but I gotta note that this guy considers pieces of drywall, entire handfuls of specifically powdered sugar, and gasoline as "desserts".
Madelyn loves anything with strawberries [sadly Pollux can't stand them] and possibly the same cake preferences as her son. Hunter thinks sugar will rot your beak.
Lastly, Marianne actually really enjoys just fruit of any sort with unhealthy amounts of chamoy. Yeah she's the kind of girl that eats flaming hot takis like her life depends on it.
---
🤔- Haven't thought of this much, considering they're. Literally just. Shapes. I figure that Pollux isn't great at talking- he tends to try to talk too fast or say many things at the same time or accidentally misuse words because he's attached to old language styles. So that's one thing. Also, when he's alone or nervous he likes to repeat words that sound nice to him, or the letter x (remember he loves how it sounds?) or just clicking. Even now that he can speak with words, sometimes he mumbles things to himself in Flatland's language, that nobody knows anymore except for him, so chirping and stuff.
He also tends to keep his hands clasped together because having them hanging around feels weird, or when he's using his cane, he'll have one hand holding the arm that's holding the cane. Also avoids eye-contact. (Oh and I don't know where to put this, but he's ambidextrous. Why not? Guy's pretty much a demigod)

🍭✨🍨sticky & sweet 🧁✨🍭 - a milestone event !
hello, hello 💛it’s finally time for another milestone event! i didn’t expect to have one so soon tbh, but that’s just how life goes; the other day i saw that i had 555 followers at exactly 3:33 a.m. (spooky, but also extremely lucky?) and now that i have 564 followers, i want to show my appreciation for each one of you. when i first made this blog, it was really just to get back in the groove of writing — how i write off of tumblr is vastly different, actually — and to sort of experiment with various style of prose, so it’s been a learning curve and a fun journey writing, plus everyone’s been so cool so that’s been a plus 🥰 anyway, i present to you 🍭✨🍨sticky & sweet 🧁✨🍭 a 555+ followers event. i will write drabbles & ficlets/scenarios, and i will take requests for characters from one piece, jujutsu kaisen, attack on titan, & obey me.
please don’t forget to check out my rules before sending requests 💕
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i’ve had a terrible sweet tooth lately, so that’s partly the inspiration behind this event’s theme. please choose a topping (it’s ok to request multiple), 3 to 5 items from the main menu and/or special menu (it’s ok to request multiple/combination from both lists), and one item from the secret menu (one character from the fandom of your choice). also, if you want me to choose for you, just let me know.
example: “hi! i would like to order an eclair, a chocolate truffle, and taffy with whipped cream and #1 (zoro) from the side menu.”
the event will run from 08.14.22 (today) until 11.05.22, so be sure to get your requests in before it finishes.
current status: closed.
masterlist of requests
rules:
i. please choose one character from either one piece, jjk, aot, or obey me — if you’re feeling indecisive, you can toss a few names my way and i’ll pick at random.
ii. you can send multiple requests (but please consider requesting different characters if you do.)
iii. if there’s a preferred gender you want me to write the reader as, please let me know.
iv. since the event is more or less a nsfw one, i will only write for canonically adult characters; i’m not budging on that.
v. this is an 18+ event, so minors please do not interact, thank you.
✨ place your orders & enjoy a lil’ sugar rush✨

Okay so I'm celebrating my birthday this weekend and idk what sweets I want. I'm not a big fan of regular birthday cakes. In the past few years I've tried to pick something different; cheesecake, macaroons, a cookie cake, flan, cupcakes, chickpea cookies, and chocolate silk pie - just to name a few.
Any ideas what I should do this year? Or got any pastry/baked goods posts to spark my imagination?
Happy Birthday! 🎁🎂🎉

Flan By Martín Espada
For  Jack Agüeros (1934–2014)
I was eight when the blackout struck and the lights died all across the city like a massacre of fireflies. In the projects of Brooklyn, I steered myself to 14F, fingers spread against the cool tiles of the hallway, past the concrete and chicken-wire terrace where I once burnt ants with a magnifying glass.
Many years later, at the Chinese restaurant uptown, Jack said: They got any flan here? He was my first poet. I had seen the fireflies in his sonnets blink and float away: Fulano the philosopher in the unemployment line; Blanco the painter, painting in the madhouse; Monterosa the dealer killed by shotgun in a bar on Avenue A; his mother the seamstress and the quick needle of her sewing machine; Jack the moving man, his hands sliced raw.He stacked his apartment with dictionaries in three languages. I knew the raconteur’s grin with every tale: Raúl Juliá is a friend of mine: a Puerto Rican playing Macbeth. He took 14 curtain calls on opening night.
Maybe he would tell me now that flan was not Puerto Rican, or Mexican,or Spanish, but Chinese, invented by a trembling cook to satisfy the palate of an emperor in the Ming Dynasty. No flan, Jack, I said. This is a Chinese restaurant. Two minutes later, he said: They got any flan? I showed him the dog-eared and fingerprinted menu. No flan, I said. When the waiter unfurled his pad, Jack said to him: You got flan? He sang this song for an hour. The egg roll was not flan. The fried rice was not flan. The fortune cookie was not flan. Can we get some flan? he said. Goddammit, Jack, I said.
The poets crowded into the bar, striding to the mic. Jack stood with poem in hand, read the title, tilted his head and said it again, studied the page as if the words shriveled up like ants burnt under a magnifying glass, then sat down. I witnessed the massacre of fireflies. A few of us clapped, not knowing what to do with our hands, staring at the sonneteer who lost all his quatrains and couplets in the denim jacket he left on the subway, the words of Fulano still waiting on the unemployment line: The faster you spin, the stiller you look. / There’s something to learn in that, but what?
After the diagnosis, I handed Jack a book of poems. He dangled the book upside down like a stiff mouse by the tail, something we would sniff behind the refrigerator. I wanted sonnets. Jack kept singing the chorus of a song: Get me to the church. Get me to the church. Get me to the church on time.
At the end, I leaned over Jack’s bed to read his own poem in his ear, but some words come home after the blackout, fingers crawling on the wall. I know what I should have said at the Chinese restaurant: Jack, let’s get some flan. We should have braved the subway at rush hour, straphangers rocking all the way to 14th Street and 8th Avenue, to La Taza de Oro, gone now like Jack, for rice and beans, squid in its own ink, café con leche y flan,Jack: a spoonful of flan for you after all the years of sonnets and bread for me, the steam rising when your hands cracked the crust at the table.

Sugar Is Dangerous, or Is It?
Almost all of us have that sweet tooth. How could we not when our toddler-self would not drink vitamin syrup if it does not comfort us with the delight of sugar? To add, it is almost always in every meal that we eat. In Philippine culture, we have tons of local desserts such as the halo-halo, Leche flan, cassava cake, and turon among many others coated with lots of sugar. And this also extends to many of our actual dishes such as tocino, afritada, adobo, and even our local version of spaghetti. Even when we diet, we almost always try to sneak in a chocolate bar, ice cream, some soft drinks, or a cookie, instead of a hamburger, pizza, and whatnot. Sugary foods and drinks are also widely available in the market. This is why your Crown Asia house and lot for sale is loaded with all kinds of food with sugar–SNR pastries, JCO donuts, and syrup for tomorrow’s pancakes for breakfast. And little did you know that even the simplest of things such as soup, bread, and even ketchup contain sugar.
This is why we are here to tell you the health effects of sugar since it is oh so important in our lives. If you want to be specific, the average sugar intake of an adult is 17% of the calorie absorption we take daily. As to our children, it can lead up to 14%! Well, you probably know the basic “Do not eat too much sugar” advice but we will be offering helpful details, plus we might just advise you the exact opposite! From cane sugar to things like coconut sugar, there are various types of sugar. But let us first discuss the sweet danger of sugar.

Gigi’s Bakery & Café,  2200 W Temple St, Los Angeles (Historic Filipinotown), CA 90026, Score: 34/50
Tumblr media
This popular Cuban bakery in Historic Filipinotown provides a lot of options (mostly Cuban, but some Mexican and Salvadorean). However, the baked goods in the case are not labeled or the prices are not shown (I suspect they’re reasonably priced).
Score: 34/50
Food: 4/5 – You can order salads, tamales, sandwiches (Cubano, media noche, ropa vieja), burgers, breakfast (eggs, omelettes, huevos rancheros), Cuban dishes, etc. The Cuban dishes seem to be the most popular. There’s also so many baked goods to choose from including square cake slices, fruit turnovers, crescents, giant muffins, big flat cookies, conchas, smaller cookies, cakes and cake slices, flan, cream puffs, fruit tarts, and more. Bolillos and baguettes are made fresh daily. They also have Cuban specialties like guava pie, potato balls, croquettes and empanadillas.
Coffee: 4/5 –They have espresso drinks. I asked for café con leche got a latte. Is it the same? Anyway, it was pretty good, not bitter
Wi-fi: 5/5 – Free, unlimited, the password is posted on the wall
Ambiance: 3/5 – Cozy and inviting, a lot of brown colors, like being in someone’s home. It looks scary from the outside though.
Noise: 4/5 – Quiet Cuban music
Plugs: 0/5 – Didn’t see any
Parking: 5/5 – They have their own parking lot
Comfort: 3/5 – Small dining area with different size tables.
Bathroom: 3/5 – They’re outside. I was afraid to go inside.
Art: 3/5 – One old framed illustration that said visit Cuba
Tips: Order first, then grab a table. Bus your own table. Delivery and online ordering available.
