Legend of Zelda game where somethimg goes a bit weird with the reincarnation so they end up reborn in the wrong places. like, idk, Link wakes up as the once-in-a-century-born male gerudo.

Zelda wakes up as some little blond kid (probably either being raised by koroks or training to be a knight or whatever).

And Whoops, Ganondorf is the prince of Hyrule lmao.

now link and Zelda have to try and stop Ganon from destroying Hyrule from the inside whilst Link now also has to deal with Politics.

Zelda runs off to the Gerudo desert to try and stop 'Ganondorf' pre-emtively, only to find a male Gerudo that looks a lot like Link sitting awkwardly on the throne like "Zelda, please help me, I'm not built for royalty."

This took a long time for me to finish, I completely lost motivation after my progress file became corrupted. Luckily I was able to salvage a thumbnail version of the lineart to trace but I didn't draw at all for a year after that.

Also took a long time to actually get around to posting it to tumblr. I do have a purple bg alt, I switch between liking one more than the other

When a Hero passes away their soul takes on the form of a winged wolf. Whether its a blessing or a curse, they spend their days along with their god wandering and protecting Hyrule.

They are primarily seen only at night and all across Hyrule. The only area they are guaranteed to be spotted is Korok Woods.

The only time they were ever seen in the daylight was in an event shortly after the First Calamity. Persecuted, homes burned and with nowhere to go, Termitius himself along with his pack of heroes guided the Sheikah to their new home which is now known as Kakariko Village.

Since then, all Sheikah have vowed to never harm any of Termitius's sacred animals and he is to be worshipped alongside Hylia. In response, Termitius willed that none of his sacred animals harm a Sheikah (unless Yiga) and blessed their warriors with techniques and skills that put most to shame.

For those who are curious about Termitius's sacred animals they are: Wolves, Owls, Deer, Rabbits and Dragons

Note: These animals may be hunted but only out of necessity. Termitius is not only the god of warriors and battles, but hunters too.

Remember this post I made before Echoes of Wisdom released? Yeah well now that the game is out, I decided to update the timeline graphic I made with the lore introduced in that game + Echoes of Wisdom's actual timeline placement.

If you want the reason why I put the Wild Era where I did, just go look at that post. I might make a part 2/a remake/a sequel to that post cause I have thought more about it that strengthens this idea for me.

I’ve seen people try and make maps to show how Hyrule has changed over the centuries, and that’s an idea I really like and may try myself.

However; I’ve seen so many where the map is centered around Hyrule Castle/Castle Town. And while yes, that makes sense considering it’s the Hylian capital, it’s not something I would focus on.

Buildings and places change over time. Towns mights move and Castles could be rebuilt. We’ve seen so in Twilight Princess: where the Master sword is still in the old Temple of Time, which used to be close to Hyrule Castle inside of Castle Town, but is now nowhere near the two.

The lay of the land might change due to catastrophic events (which might happen more frequently in Hyrule than the rest of the world) and we’ve seen so many game mechanics where water levels are changed easily (plus, plenty of evidence of the goddesses doing as they please).

But you know what location we’ve seen in almost every Zelda game? One that might differ in appearance or name, but never excluded from the map unless we weren’t in Hyrule?

So what if we center the maps of Hyrule around the volcano?

(I’ll probably try to do that at some point, but knowing me, it’s gonna become a much bigger project than planned.)

🪶🪶Lesson 15: Tadpole Touch and Go 🪶🪶

"Before Link finds out what?" Link repeated, emphasizing "what" a little too sharply for your liking.

You jumped behind Groose, peering around the mountaintop of his bicep. "ACH. Y/N!"

It wasn't long before Groose flip-flopped, cowering behind you as Link's footsteps crunched among the grass until he was before you both.

"What are you both doing here? Groose, I specifically told you to watch Y/N. Why on Skyloft would you bring her here, of all places?" The way he says " here" distinguishes an air of disgust.

Groose raised his hands up in surrender. "Hey now, I am watching Y/N! She got herself lost while she was wandering around, which I told her not-"

You jabbed Groose in the side with a hard elbow, silencing him. Link's eyes shifted toward you, his face remaining stiffer than a statue.

"Shouldn't you be with Zelda?" You scoffed.

"Zelda is fine. I thought I'd come check on you three. And with good reason, apparently."

"Well, you were told not to spend so much time traversing between Skyloft and here, and you're back awfully quick, so—" Your hands flung up, providing a shield over your loose lips. Link's one eyebrow slowly rose, suspicion aroused from your statement.

"How did you know that?"

"Uh—common sense. You should be with Zelda, not back and forth, duh."

Link stomped his foot, causing you to wince. "No! You just said, "I was told. "All of this time you've been coming for me with accusations of stalking when you are actually stalking and eavesdropping! What else did you hear?"

"Stalking?" You choked. "You wish! I already told you- it's just common sense! Dufus." You muttered. The verdancy of all the overhead leaves did little to mask the blush from Link's allegation. Your eyes fluttered away toward Groose as he watched the exchange between you both, clearly confused.

It wasn't until you noticed Link hadn't retaliated that you peeked over to see a small splotch of crimson anchored to his cheeks. His eyes narrowed as he glanced at a faraway shrub to avoid eye contact with you. "No, if you were eavesdropping... you must have heard..."

"In the name of the goddess, Link, I did not eavesdrop!"

Instead of a verbal response, he responded with a physical one, grabbing your wrist and whisking you away from Groose. "Link!"

He turned over his shoulder, "Groose, I trust you can find your way back to Impa?"

"Um, yeah, man, no worries." You could hear the relief in Groose's response, which only made you turn back at him, your lips mouthing a silent threat.

As Link continued to storm off, with you securely in his grasp and in tow, he stopped, ripping off his sword and dropping it to the ground. "Groose. Take my sword back with you."

It was with this announcement you could hear the faint swoosh of Link's phantom girlfriend arise, but before she could scold him, you were too far ahead.

It was just you and Link.

Alone.

Both of you trudging through tall grass, the silence between you saying more than words could at that moment. The above birds were all stationed in their assigned branch posts, their beady eyes curious as you both walked past.

"Link, where are we going?"

"To settle this."

"Settle what? How?"

"With a game of tadpole touch and go."

"Tadpole what and who?"

"Tadpole touch and go. If you gather the most tadpoles, I will trust you, but if I gather the most tadpoles, you will tell me every last word you overheard." Finally, you walked through to a clearing possessing a lake that reminded you much of the one on Skyloft. Suspended in the lake's center was a small speck of land; you dare not call it an island. An ancient tree with faded bark was nestled in its center. Surrounding the small parcel of land and floating with the currents of the lake were thin, circular green sheets you had never seen before.

"What is this place? And why can't you just trust me?"

He finally released your hand, and you realized you hadn't fought against his grip the whole time you were walking, as if its natural place was to be on top of your own. As if it belonged there. "Like you trust me? Right?"

Link squatted down, his fingers brushing the lake's surface, creating gentle ripples. "Also, if I win, I want to know... what Gaepora said."

You sighed. "You get an awful lot if you win, while I get nothing but an empty promise. You'll never stop harassing me."

Link looked up at you thoughtfully. "Fine. What would you like if you win?"

You knelt beside him, reaching out and touching one of the green floating pads. Link chuckled, recogniziing the child like wonder of curiosity in you. "That's a lily pad."

"A lily pad?" You repeated, feeling the slightly slimy surface.

"I thought... maybe also I could show you some of the surface. I know you, Y/N. I'm not surprised you wandered around. You have that vagabond soul in you. Even if Skyloft is our home... I don't feel it is yours. Just as I don't feel it is mine."

You looked over to see Link's eyes appraising you, waves of affection, like the lake's surface washing over you. "Maybe if you win, I can take you to the Isle of Song... and I can show you that dial. If you'd like? And maybe..."

"Maybe what?" The words of that leotard-wearing diva echoed in the back of your mind.

"Link can handle himself."

"Not when it comes to you."

But Link just stood, a frown pulling his cheeks down with it. "It's nothing."

The action he took next made your heart leap forward against the cage of your chest, as all around you went dark.

You pulled his tunic off of your head; the faint foreign scent of his sweat and the familiar scent of home clung to it.

"L-L-LINK?! WHAT ARE YOU—"

He grinned down at you as he stood in nothing more than his baggy trousers.

"Oh, goddess help me! - You are unhinged!" You grabbed his tunic again and covered your eyes with it.

"Y/N, we went swimming as kids. Why are you being so weird?" You lowered it slowly, observing him stretch shamelessly. You instantly began counting each muscle that stretched against the skin of his abdomen as if you were counting clouds in the sky.

A wide grin took possession of his face. He snatched his tunic from you.

"Come on. Let the game begin."
