Hero of Bombs AU (original concept by @mipmoth)
The crossover I didn’t know I desperately needed but do indeed desperately need, & thanks to Tears of the Kingdom, we do have Bomb Flowers & all manner of projectiles for Ingo to throw at baddies, or to Link in a pinch! 💣
I’d go back to their original comic now & again (partially because Legends Arceus really reminds me of BotW), where Moth imagines Ingo in BotW Hyrule with the popularly feral Link. In this AU of their AU it’s more or less the same, except Link is cured of his amnesia, & wants to help Ingo with his, as well as help him go home.
First / Sage of Spirit Arc / Koroks? / Screenshot Edit 1 / Screenshot Edit 2 / Link’s Abilities / Round Ears & Lore / Reunion /

wont have time to work on anything for a few days probably, so uh, since i love reading comments/tags of people sharing their experiences- as part of the preparation for the totk rant script i got another question to ask :3
if you dont like tears of the kingdom, was there a moment that "broke" you, as in, the moment you knew this game is worse than you thought/hoped, and if so what was it?
personally, while i was suspicious after seeing its last trailer, i told myself its just me again and i kept up my hopes for a long time into my playthrough- its hard to point to a specific point since it was a growing feeling of something being off, things didnt make sense and i ever so more wondered how they would pull this all together (they didnt)- i do think the moment i stopped being in denial about it was when i found the shrine of life, the beginning of botw, and found .. nothing, a dingy cave practically licked clean of any traces of the shiekah tech like it never existed, instead of the medical bed a pathetic puddle of water that healed you, no one caring at all, like it actually never happened- i felt like the game pointed and laughed at me for caring about botw, pretty sure i was struggeling to keep it together on stream bc it forced me to realize this game truly is everything i hoped it wouldnt be, even if that sounds a little weird, at that time zelda and especially botw was so much more important to me, a passion for the franchise this game really did end up killing.

Electric Dreams AU where instead of dreams, Bill connects with Ford through the computer Fiddleford made him
(Fidds thinks the pioneering personal computer he made gained sentience somehow and is now evil and seducing his partner! >:( little did he know that it's just a widdle guy from a 2D dimension trying to expand his horizons uwu
Based on the 1984 movie Electric Dreams, but I tweaked it to fit gf so much that you don't need to know the original source to understand the AU(but if you did, it's basically if electric dreams was a horror romcom)

Shout out to this underrated channel of YouTube featuring one of the most amazing mods I've seen for Twilight Princess. They currently have only 4k subscribers. I don't normally promote people but this creation is full of soul and passion and needs to be in the spotlight for all Zelda fans to see. Please do consider sharing this within the fandom to help spread the word. Skilar more than deserves it. :)

When Ming Fan finally fought his way through the underbrush to where the Rift had appeared, it was already too late. Shizun and Luo Binghe stood at the edge of the yawning chasm, swords unsheathed and pointed at each other. He hadn’t thought much of it when Shen Qingqiu had flown past him so soon after the earthquake that had torn open the Rift, but he could now see there was something very wrong. Shen Qingqiu’s back was turned to Ming Fan and his face hidden, but he could see plainly the fear and confusion on Luo Binghe’s face. Along with the glowing, damning mark on his forehead. Something demonic.
Ming Fan gripped the foliage, forcing himself not to run out. Not yet. He’d end up dead or wishing he was. He had mocked Luo Binghe early in the Conference, yes, but he knew the younger boy had done nothing to merit this kind of punishment—!
In a matter of seconds, Xiu Ya had stabbed forward, Zheng Yang had shattered, and Luo Binghe had staggered back into the Rift.
Everything seemed to still.
Ming Fan sucked in an breath and darted out of the foliage—but it was too late. Luo Binghe’s arm vanished over the edge just as Ming Fan ran past their shizun. He lunged forward the last few feet, fingers clawing at Luo Binghe’s forearm just in time. Caught, held. The sudden weight had him crashing again against the ground and the wind was knocked out of him. The taste of charred earth mixed with that of fresh blood where he’d nearly bitten his tongue in half.
But that was inconsequential. Not when he could feel the weight at the end of his arm that told him he didn’t fail. Even when the only person he needed to acknowledge that fact was someone he couldn’t stand. No one deserves to die like this, Ming Fan thought viciously. Not even him.
Dangling below him, Luo Binghe’s eyes were wide with terror and confusion, at odds with the damning, demonic seal glowing on his forehead. But there was something like gratitude there as well, out of place and so painfully frail.
For a fragile second, it felt like they were breathing the same
“Shixiong—”
With a cry, he was wrenched from Ming Fan’s grip and into the Abyss below. Ming Fan’s cry was strangled in his throat.
He didn’t know how long he remained there, clenching the burned grass with white-knuckled fingers and straining his eyes to see through the acrid smoke that rose from the chasm for even the barest glimpse of Luo Binghe. But time moved on and the Rift sealed shut and when Ming Fan blinked and once more became aware of his surroundings, he realized he was not alone.
Shen Qingqiu loomed over him like a stone Buddha, face cold as jade. His spiritual sword was once more sheathed, his robes neat and not one hair out of place. As though he hadn’t had a hand in what had happened here.
“You… you killed him,” Ming Fan breathed, still unable to fully process what had just taken place. But that’s what it was, a death sentence fed to the hungry maw of the Endless Abyss.
Shen Qingqiu. “He was a stain upon our sect.”
Ming Fan could feel the rage slowly rise. “He was a disciple of Qing Jing Peak. He was your disciple.” Acknowledging it was like vinegar on his tongue but a boy was dead because of him. He stared at Shen Qingqiu as if seeing him for the first time. Stripped of his elegance and his masks…
“He was a demon.” Shen Qingqiu sneered down at him. “There is no need to explain to you why he needed to be eradicated.”
Ming Fan tore burning eyes away from that frigid, impassive mask. He couldn’t bear looking at the man he had so long idolized. Instead he stared at the ground, in fear he would do or say something he could not undo. And beside his knee he saw slivers of metal.
The shards of Zheng Yang, tangled in the burned grass. Ming Fan’s vision blurred and his breath grew sharp and ragged, anger slamming into him full force. He wrapped his fingers around the pieces, the razor pain of their edges grounding him as the rest of his world unraveled like poorly woven cloth. His shizun had failed him.
And he had failed his shidi.
#svsss#bingfan#ming fan#luo binghe#shen qingqiu#shen jiu#my writing#I had some vague ideas abt the aftermath#how ming fan tries to tell the other peak lords what happened and what SQQ did but he’s forced into closed-door cultivation to shut him up#it’s a cover up basically and over the years he’s in there his minor qi deviations build up without treatment#meanwhile LBH in the abyss has LOTS of things to contemplate while he’s going through boot camp in literal hell#he’s got some good memories to sustain him in the abyss—his mom + nyy’s kindness + weirdly his accidental dreamwalking into mf’s memories#after the demon invasion#and learned a few uncomfortable truths abt his shixiong and his messed up family (see my headcanons for ming fan 😥 sorry bby)#after LBH gets out of jail and starts his revenge spree a la count of monte cristo#he does some dreamwalking reconnaissance to check out CQMS’s defenses and notices ming fan is noticeably absent#stuff happens and there’s more plot in there somewhere ig#but eventually LBH gets to Cang Qiong and literally tears the mountain apart to get to the Lingxi caves to find his halfdead situationship#idk that’s all I’ve really had in my notes for this au#also meng mo being a little asshole to post-abyss LBH lol#if anyone wants this au#please#take it#aus I’d love to read#aus I’d love to write#but have no time/motivation/inspiration to do so#and if you do pls credit me/send me a link bc I love reading what creative paths others take

Proving Reality
(Legend x reader) Warning: basically just Legend having a bad time. Blood, mentions of injuries
Legend leaned back, supported by his hands as his feet dangled lazily over the cliff's edge. The afternoon sun beat down on him while the gentle breeze kissed his skin, bringing the faint aroma of sand and saltwater. The land below the cliff side was a lush forest of trees, broken only by what looked to be a few ruins or perhaps a village of sorts with the ocean sitting below the horizon.
Legend threw his head back, laughing at the outlandish story Hyrule and Wind were reenacting to his right. Some sort of prank they had played on the ranch-hand with enough energy to suggest they had stolen a few of Wild’s candies again. They're arms flailing around, voices bright and carefree before plopping back down into the soft grass in a fit of giggles.
Something pressed into his side, fingers softly splayed on his thigh as a weight rested on his shoulder. He leaned his head on it, instantly recognizing the sound of your laughter like sweet songbirds in the morning. His hand covered yours, fingers stroking over the ring you proudly wore from the moment he had given it to you.
“Hey! There you guys are!” Wild’s voice rang out from behind him. Legend craned his neck, seeing the Champion along with Sky and the Old Man walking up to them.
“We found a cave not too far from here! Y'all wanna come check it out!?”
Hyrule and Wind jumped to their feet enthusiastically. Sprinting past the older two in their haste to follow after Wild in the promise of exploration.
The four of you chuckled, knowing very well that by the end of the day you would have to send Wolfie after them if you didn’t tag along to make sure they didn’t get themselves lost.
“Alright,” You sighed, resigned to your fate of babysitter. “I’ll go make sure they don’t get too far ahead.”
Your hand lifted, cupping Legend’s face to gently turn it towards you. You kissed his lips as though it was something you had done your entire life. Lingering just long enough for Legend’s eyes to slip shut and enjoy the sensation of your soft lips pressed against his. The slight taste of leftover fruit and honey from this morning's breakfast only enhancing the enjoyment until you pulled away. He pouted, grabbing your waist to pull you back for more as you giggled, squirming against his attempts to resume the kiss. You dodged his lips, leaning towards his ear to whisper something about ‘getting lost in the cave’ that had him blushing all the way down to the top of his shoulders.
Another quick peck to his cheek and you got to your feet with a devious smile. A small wink and sly ‘come hither’ motion of your finger before you turned to walk away with Time to go check out the cave.
“You coming Vet?” Sky asked. The Master Sword shining brightly on his back in all her goddess blessed glory. Sky reached over, ruffling his hair that tossed his hat to the ground. “Wouldn’t want to keep your girl waiting, hm?” He teased. Legend swatted his hand away, fixing his green hat till it sat securely back on top of his head.
“Go ahead, I’ll catch up in a sec.” He answered, trying failing to calm his beating heart and racing imagination to your colorful suggestion. Sky nodded, walking off to leave him alone.
Legend looked back beyond the cliff, the water glistening like jewels in the sunlight. He took a deep breath, exhaling in the direction of the wind as it blew past. A genuine smile; One he hadn’t had in perhaps months, appeared on his face as he got to his feet. Ready to join the others and more importantly, follow through on your suggestion.
“Hi Link.”
Something inside him snapped at the sound. Surely he was mistaken. Surely, not even Hylia herself, would be so cruel when things were finally going so well for him. It felt as though he had been doused in ice water at the sound of the voice. Its song-like quality ringing like a broken piano.
He spun, the red hair and flowy blue dress only confirming what he had already known.
“Ma-Marin..?”
She smiled, head tilted to the side with her hands folded behind her back. It felt off, forced, like there was a deep sorrow hidden behind the little crinkle of her eyes. She was the spitting image of Legend’s last memory of her. He might as well be back in Mabe village, listening to her sing moments before he had woken the Wind Fish.
“I missed you Link!” She said cheerfully. “Did you miss me too?”
His mouth felt like it was full of cement. He did miss her. He missed her and Tarin and every other soul he had met on that damn island. He had tried for so long to convince himself it had all been real, that it hadnt all been a figment of some deity’s imagination to torture him. For so long all he wanted was to return there, to see them again and tell them how sorry he was. Yet the words felt warped on his tongue. Leaving a bitter taste as they were swallowed down, refusing to be voiced.
“I-”
“Oh Link,” She sighs, still smiling at him. “Did you really think you could just move on so easily?” She glided towards him, her hands falling to her sides as she stopped inches in front of him.
“What?” Legend whispered, taking a small step back. “What do you mean?”
“You thought you could just leave? Abandon us? Abandon me?” She lifted her hand, tracing a single finger down his arm. Her touch was cold, sending a harsh shiver straight up his spine as her voice took on an almost haunting tone.
“No! I didn't- That's not what-”
Her palm pressed against his chest, her cold touch seeping into his skin that felt like ice spreading through his veins. “You knew exactly what waking the Wind Fish would do. You killed us, Link. You left us to die.”
Tears filled his eyes, the cold freezing him where he stood as it wrapped around his heart. “No…no that's not true! I wouldn't have done it if I thought-”
“But you did.” Her smile was gone, replaced by a deep sadness that twisted into irritation as she looked at him. “And then you tried to forget all about us. You moved on. Found a new home, new friends, a new love.” She spat, shoving him backwards. His ass hit the ground as she quickly climbed on top of him, pinning him down.
“Were we not enough for you Link? Was I not enough? Did you not love me?”
Words at the tip of his tongue vanished as her fingers dug into his shoulders. The ice, so cold it began to sting hot. Of course he had loved her, why else had he wanted to stay for as long as he did? But he had moved on hadn't he? That's what everyone had told him to do! He had fought the idea for years, the guilt of it all too heavy to face. And then he had met the chain. Saw how happy the Old Man was in a life that he had chosen. What Legend had craved for so long. The choice to make his own life. To live how he wanted and love who he wanted to without the fear of it being ripped away from him again.
Marins nails dug into his skin when he didn't answer. “After everything you did you thought you could just bring them all here? Bring her here without having to face any consequences?”
Legend's eyes widened. Shit, the others didn't know. They could be in danger!  trying to look past Marin for any sign of the others. Surely they hadn't gone too far already. If he yelled loud enough he might still be able to warn them.
His eyes caught the familiar mountain in the distance. Remains of a cracked egg rotting away at its peak.
No. No no no no No NO! He couldn't be back here. There was no way. Koholint wasn't real! How could he be back to somewhere that never existed! How could he have not noticed? Had he let himself get distracted so easily that he hadn't even realized-
Marin’s hands grabbed his face, forcing him to only look at her.
“Don't worry, Link. Soon it’ll be just you and me. Just like before.”  She pulled his face forward, her lips crashing onto his.
It burned.
Everywhere she touched burned his skin as hot as Subrosian lava. His stomach knotted and twisted as if he had drunk something vile while his head pounded inside of his skull.
This was wrong. Everything was wrong!
He shoved her off of him, scrambling backwards till his hand felt the cliff's edge. Marin slowly stood, head tilted with the same forced smile from earlier. The sky rumbled above them, dark storm clouds now blocking out the sun as the wind picked up around them. Legend flinched as the crack of lightning in the distance, his lungs working overtime to keep oxygen flowing.
“There's no need to be afraid. We're all alone now. We can be together again. Isn’t that what you wanted?”
Fear spread through his blood. His voice shaking as he tried to remind himself to keep breathing. “The others. Where are they?”
“Oh your little friend?” She loomed over him. Close enough that he could make out the freckles dotting across her nose and cheeks. Each one growing darker and darker till they were crimson, droplets of blood surfacing from each one that slide down her face. A wicked grin plastered to her red lips.
“We did the honor of showing them around.” She giggled, a hand soaked in blood coming up to her mouth.
Legend's stomach churned, jumping to his feet as he reached for his sword. His hand only grasping at air as he realized his things were nowhere to be seen.
“What did you do?” He whispered, horrified at the manic look in her eyes. “What did you do to them!?”
Marin only laughed.
Legend shoved past her. His feet carrying him down the path towards where he knew the village was. His heart pounded in his chest, lungs needy for air as he ran as fast as his boots allowed. The closer he got the more withered and decayed everything around him became.
Thunder boomed above him, lightning flashing in the peripherals of his vision that made him jump, tripping over himself as he slammed into the ground. Light struck the ground beside him as he quickly rolled out of the way. His chest was too tight, lungs nearly on fire as he panted for breath. He could already feel the waves tossing him around, caught up in its relentless current. A sharp pain up his arm as he gripped tighter to the rope-
Not now! He scolded himself, getting off the ground to continue running. The others need you! (Y/n) needs you!”
Just ahead was the small shop, its red roof like a welcome sign as he ran past. He could see the familiar weather vane, getting closer and closer as he ran.
The smell hit him first.
Scattered upon the stone path of the small village square, now soaked in blood, were the bodies of the other heroes.
The only way to describe the scene before him was a massacre.
Limbs, those still enact, were entangled or bent at odd angles. Hands, still clasped around swords or other weapons laid limp on the ground. Chests no longer rose, eyes staring lifelessly at him as blood still leaked from wounds both minor and fatal.
Legend keeled over, emptying the contents of his stomach onto the grass. He tried breathing through his mouth to avoid the overwhelming smell of death that invaded his nose. Panting between the waves of nausea that crashed over him at the sight of each slaughtered hero.
Sky and Wars were the worst. The former only recognizable by the white cloth and Master Sword that now laid as lifeless as its wielder.
He couldn't bring himself to look at Wind without vomiting again.
A tuft of brown hair peeked out from behind the metal bird and Legend let out a strangled cry as he rushed to it. Hyrule was slumped up against the stone pillar, still gasping for air despite the long red gash slashed across his throat. His arm, abruptly stopping at his wrist, laid across his stomach at an odd angle. His other laid limp by his side, broken fingers still trying to hold onto the ornate silver sword
“Rulie..no no no look at me” Legend knelt down, grabbing the others face, trying to keep it up as tears poured down his face.
“V..vet..” Hyrule choked out.
“Everythings gonna be fine! Theres…fuck, theres a uh, a fairy fountain nearby-”
“..c-can’t…” Blood filled his mouth, dribbling from his lips towards his chin. The droplets now staining Legends hands as he held on to him. Willing him to stay awake. To take one more breath. To stay with him.
“No! No, you can't die!” He shouted, choking on his own tears as he desperately tried to find anything that could save the boy in front of him. Hyrule’s head went slack in his grip. The sound of his gasps stilled, leaving Legend in a heavy silence.
Legend slumped down, arms falling at his sides like a ragdoll as he stared unbelievingly at his now dead successor.
A cold caress, crossed over his shoulders. Marin’s form appearing behind him as she draped herself across his back.
“Don't worry, the pain fades away soon enough right? That's what you told yourself isn’t it? After you abandoned us, just like how you abandoned them?”
“Shut up!” Legend screamed, burying his face in his hands. His tears mixing with the remains of Hyrule's blood still on his fingers as he wept. Her arms wrapped around his neck in a soft embrace that sent his skin crawling.
“But you haven't even seen the best part!” She whined in his ear, releasing her hold as he spun to face her. She giggled, floating a few paces away from him. “Afterall, I saved the best for last!”
She disappeared, her laughter echoing around him as he tried to comprehend what she was insinuating. He forced himself to look back at his lifeless companions. Each of their faces leaving their mark deep into his mind that he knew would join the mile long list of fuel for his nightmares. Eight more faces that would now only be remembered in his memories.
Wait.
He did a retake, counting each body that laid before him. Eight. Eight faces. Eight bodies.
Where was the ninth?
He scrambled to his feet, snatching Hyrule’s sword as he frantically ran westward. He sprinted through the village, wisps of its old occupants stared at him as he sped by. Their faces sunken and hollow. Legend pushed the images from his mind, focused only on reaching his destination.
If he was right, then he knew exactly where you would be. If he was fast enough, there was a chance he could reach you in time. Save you from the same fate.
He gripped the hilt of the sword tightly as he jumped down the small ledge. His feet sinking into the soft sand as he landed on the shores he had washed up on so many years ago. He was so close. Just a few more turns, a few more paces, a few more breaths till he would reach you.
“Please…” he prayed to whatever deity or goddess would listen to him. “Please let her be alive. Please-”
He rounded the last corner, coming to a screeching halt that nearly knocked him off his feet.
“.....no.”
The sword slipped from his grip, disappearing into the sand as he took a few shaky steps forward. He stood there for what felt like an eternity. Bile filling his system, burning at the walls of his throat.
He sank to his knees, unable to even scream.
Your mangled body was partially buried into the once white sand. The water's waves, now red and sticky, washed over your body with every push and pull of its current that lapped at his knees. A sword, his sword, jutted out from your chest like a pedestal. Its golden blade dull and cracked the closer it got to your skin. A small ring dangled from the hilt.
“why…” he whispered as Marin knelt down beside him. Her hand coming up to cup his face with that fake smile.
“Because this is what you deserve, Link.” She whispered, “After everything you've done, all the people you've hurt and failed to protect. You deserve to be alone.”
She vanished, leaving her words to echo around him as he sat, alone, on the beach.
Once again, he has failed to protect those he cares about. And once again Legend was left, utterly alone.
_______________
Legend quickly sat up, hands flying to cover his mouth to keep himself from shouting. His breathing heavy and labored as he worked through the nausea settled deep in his stomach that creeped up his throat.
Even as he forced his eyes to stay open, the bloody images of his companions flooded his vision. He grabbed at his chest, willing himself to keep breathing, to try and slow down his racing pulse. Violet eyes bouncing across the room, falling on the 4 others scattered about that were sound asleep. He studied each of them. The way their chests rose and fell, the sound of their breathing and even their faces; calm, peaceful and notably not covered in blood.
It did little to reassure him though.
He knew what, or rather who, he was really searching for as he continued his futile search. Logically, he knew exactly where you were, or at least where you should be, but his mind wasn't being logical right now. Right now he was still back on Koholint’s ruined shores with blood on his hands that wasn't his.
He curled into himself, his gut insisting he needs to go and check on you. See for himself that it wasn't real, that you are in fact alive, and unharmed. He pushed it away though, roughly rubbing at his eyes that were wet with tears. Of course this had to happen tonight. One of the few nights they were stopped at an inn, split between two different rooms because apparently there were ‘too many of them’ and ‘not enough space’ for them to cram into one. So Time split them into 2 groups, and Legend had regretfully not argued for once when you had been placed in the room that wasn't his.
Legend eyed the door.
No. He wasn't gonna let himself go running to the other room because of a stupid nightmare. He dealt with these all the time and this one wouldn't be any different. He didn't need comforting like a toddler running to their parents after a bad dream. Besides, even if he was extra quiet and only popped in for a second, he wasn’t gonna run the risk of waking the others over his dumb feelings. That damn Captain would never let him live it down and heaven forbid Time woke up and made him actually talk about it.
Using his sleeve, he wiped his eyes, lowering himself back down onto the mattress to try and get some rest. He blindly searched for the blanket, realizing that Wind at some point had taken the majority of it by wrapping himself like a burrito. He tried to not let it bother him. Even as a coldness spread through him, just like it had when Marin touched him, that made him shudder. A stark contrast to how warm you had been pressed into his side, lips on his before you had been so brutally left to bleed out-
Legend was on his feet and out the door before he could even finish his thought. The hallway light burned his eyes, blinding him momentarily until he could adjust to the sudden brightness. He shuffled his way past a few other rooms, arms wrapped tightly around his torso until he stood in front of the door Time said they would be in. Gripping its handle tightly, the hero of Legend hesitates for a moment, trying to convince himself to just drop this nonsense and go back to his room. He didn’t, instead pulling the door open just enough to slip inside before shutting it quietly behind him.
He stayed still for a moment, waiting to see if anyone had woken up to his sudden entrance. No one stirred or made any indication that they were now awake and Legend was both relieved and further worried at that fact. He scanned the room, making out Four’s small frame on the couch while 4 bodies split between the two large beds. On the bed furthest from his spot by the door he could see Hyrule, curled up on his side with an arm dangling over the edge.
Legend scurries over, assessing him for any sign of discomfort as he hovers over him. Phantom blood drips down his hands as he reaches out, finger tips hovering just above Hyrule's wrist to try and feel a pulse. The problem was that Hyrule was an extremely light sleeper, even more so than he was. The fact he was even still asleep was astounding and waking him would only cause more issues. He would get all concerned, try to get him to talk about why he was even here and that was the last thing he wanted to do. He wanted to forget all about the deep wounds and harsh words, not talk about it. That's why he was even in this stupid room! To prove that this wasn't just another dream so he could put his stupid worries aside and go back to bed damn it!
Hyrule shifted around and Legend snatched his hand away, holding his breath as he waited for the brunette to ask what he was doing. Hyrule remained silent, sighing as his head rested further into the pillow. Legend stepped back, forcing out the air currently pent up in his lungs. A shaky hand ran through his hair, tugging on the strands to try and ground himself.
Another soft sound and his eyes snap to the other form laying still on the far side of the bed. You're laid on your stomach, hugging a pillow tightly with your face nuzzled deep into the soft material.
Seeing you should have been a comfort, but as he tiptoes his way to your side his chest aches and it's once again hard to breathe. He crouches down, studying the rise and fall of your chest in rhythm with the soft sounds of your breathing and tries to match it, failing spectacularly as tears flood his eyes.
The urge to reach out returns and he tries to push it away. Simply knowing you were breathing should be enough but it feels like just another cruel trick. He needs to feel the warmth of your skin and the steady pulse of your heart underneath. His shaking hand raises, hovering just above yours before he harshly pulls it back.
You weren't nearly as light of a sleeper as Hyrule was, so why did this feel so much harder? It was just to check, a simple touch of your arm to prove to himself this was real, that you were here. It's not like he was going to wrap his arms around you, scoop you up and pull you close to him. He wouldn't even use his whole hand, just a finger or two on your wrist to check your pulse so he could leave and go back to his room where Wind had likely taken claim to the whole bed at this point.
But even as he knelt by you, hands now fisting the edge of the blanket you were tucked under he couldn't bring himself to touch you. So he sharply turns away, sitting down on the floor with his head in his hands.
By the Three why was this so difficult!
It's not like he has never touched you before. He grabbed your arm or patted you on the shoulder all the time! On the rare occasion, when no one was looking, he would even let you lean into his side or offer you a hug. Something you gave him freely and without question in return.
And then there had been the kiss. The one kiss he had ever actually had with you that consumed all of his thoughts, wondering if it could one day evolve into the ones he had currently only dreamt about.
But maybe that was the problem.
Maybe Marin has been right and it was better this way. The more he kept his distance the less pain it would be in the future. Eventually everyone would leave, including you and he'd have to work through it on his own like he always does.
Marin’s cruel words and mocking laugh rang in his head, playing over and over as tears leaked from his eyes.
“Vet?”
Legend poked his head up from where it was currently held between his knees. Seeing you crouched down on the floor in front of him with a look of concern. He quickly hid his face in his knees, embarrassed at having been caught and for likely being the reason you were now up and awake.
Soft hands gently grabbed onto his wrists, trying to pull them away from where they were glued into his hair.
“Link, look at me.”
He pokes his head up again, watching as you scoot a bit closer. Attention focused solely on him with a level of concern he was usually only given after getting hurt in battle.
“Nightmare?” He nods his head slowly in response, scowling in an attempt to maintain some of his unbothered image. Though he doubts it does him any good considering he is crying on the floor by your bedside.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Instead of snapping out a harsh ‘no’ he just shakes his head.
You smiled at him. That damn smile that so easily has carved out a permanent place in his mind.
Getting back to your feet, you lay back on the bed, scooting to the middle right beside Hyrule and open your arms out to him. Your fingers wiggling slightly to only further show your intentions.
“Come here.”
He hesitates, eyeing you skeptically as you wait patiently for him to join you on the bed. Even in the darkness he can see you roll her eyes when he doesn't move from his spot on the floor.
“Just do it, otherwise I'm waking up the Traveler.”
Legend narrows his eyes, trying to call your bluff. “You wouldn't dare.” He puffs out, voice scratchy and low from the tightness in his throat.
You shrug, immediately turning to reach over to where Hyrule was sleeping and Legend quickly snatched your wrist to get you to stop. You chuckle, opening your arms again to him and this time Legend complies.
He only sits on the edge of the mattress at first, awkwardly avoiding eye contact as you adjust to make a bit more room for him. He slowly lets his body sink down into the mattress beside you. His head barely touching the pillow when your arms wrap around him, pulling him in by the shoulders so that his head instead lands on your chest. He stiffens at the contact, unsure of what he should be doing as you toss the blanket over the both of you and get comfortable.
Fear and panic melts away as his mind hones in on the warmth of your skin and steady rhythm of your heart beneath his ear like a lifeline. Muscles relaxing against you as a hand cards through his hair that soothes away the aches from the harsh pulling on it earlier.
Slipping further down into the blanket he wraps his arms around your midsection, burying his face into your chest as he leans further into your welcoming touch. The soothing feeling of your hand in his hair almost distracted him from the small vibrations as you started humming softly.
Legend couldn't recall hearing you sing before. The most he had ever overheard from you was when you would hum to yourself during your watch shifts when you thought no one was listening. It was always soft and left him craving more as he listened to the sweet melodies resonating from you.
Legend closed his eyes, listening to the simple  song he vaguely recognized from some of the others. It's tune lulling him deeper into a calmer state of mind that blurs the once sharp and pained corners of his mind.
He shamelessly pulls you closer, sighing contently as he feels the pull of sleep start to drag him back under. He fights in for only a second, wanting to hear your voice for just a few more minutes. Something soft and warm touched his forehead, barely even there before sleep consumes him completely.

Dear Master Revali
Have you been up near Goron City recently? They opened up this theme park attraction called Mine-Cart Land and the goal is to shoot as many targets as you can while you ride down the tracks in a mine cart.
I've tried it myself, but I could only hit about three targets. (I'm ashamed, I absolutely could do better. I guess I found the momentum somewhat disorienting. I promise I'll work on it.)
Anyway, I heard the Princess's knight with the fancy sword is the current record holder for most targets hit. He even beat the expert course, the one that goes all the way down Death Mountain!
-Rubee
I'm...not allowed to ride the mine carts in Death Mountains mines anymore, they banned me after an...incident.
I don't want to talk about it.
Keep practising and beat that knight's score on my behalf. It's frankly appauling that a Hylian would have the grand score in Archery anywhere over a Rito.

♡ Untold Myths: Light & Time Event [2025] ♡
Day 1 | Light: Glow | Time: Memories
Amidst the preparations, Princess Zelda managed to slip away from the eyes of The King, the Chief Priestess, her guards, and even the Oracle of Secrets. Tearfully pleading with the heavens, she scaled the highest hill— practically a mountain— to be as close to the skies as she could. Beams of light streaked the sky like the droplets on her face, bountiful in reflecting color. When she reached its peak, Zelda came upon a pond with a heart’s shape. A flare sparked overhead so suddenly she nearly fell into it; but her feet held a firm placement just on the edge as she reached out her hands. The great light brought a heavy yet gentle weight upon her palms, and its warmth could have nearly dried her tears away. It was not enough, however, to prevent the breach of another wave of tears from her eyes. As she pulled the light towards her chest, taking a step from the water’s edge, it was quelled into a soft, crystalized fragment. Through the water that lined her vision, it illuminated the silhouette of a young boy parting the bushes on the other side. The boy, too, had run from his family and the festivities— chasing only the single shard that fell into Zelda’s hands.

I went with The Princess's Heart for the prompts, doing both prompts combined for each day. It'll be a series of storybook-styled artwork! ^^ I thought it'd be fitting if Link and Zelda's younger designs resembled that of themselves when the franchise itself was still young in a meta sense! I think the classic look suits them. :) Click the image for better quality!
I'm still not good at using Clip Studio Paint help ;_;
It's not too late to participate if you'd like! This event isn't strict at all. Find more info here! (And everyone else's entries as they're added)!!

rare dark cave encounters
im not very good at creating personalities for my pokémon, but here's the sketches of personality i have thus far:
gylfie is rather asocial with the rest of the crew. she doesn't antagonize anybody, but she strongly enforces her boundaries when she feels they're violated, often because someone intruded on her personal bubble or stole from her food dish. she wants to make friends, but the only two pokemon she even vaguely gets along with are charmont the cyndaquil and reginald the dunsparce.
reginald is the dad friend. he gets along with just about everybody and everybody likes him in return. being the bulkiest pokémon in the sub-level-20 crew, he'll do whatever it takes to make sure they don't faint in battle. if any squabbles break out, he's the one to break it up and console the most aggrieved party. everyone likes sitting near him while he sunbathes, but he makes sure to get one-on-one time with gylfie, who can be rather jealous of her dad friend.
