Summary: you and Fred go back to his place for a date

WARNING: making out, wine, fluff

This is a continuation of my other fic of Fred, shout out to Lucy for giving me the idea in her tags, it was super cute and I just knew I needed to write it

Fred drove you back to his house, you’ve never been to his house but it was big “you have a nice house fred” your eyes wondered around his house, there were pictures of limp bizkit on the walls with the record “I’m glad you like it, could maybe be your forever home” he said the last part nonchalantly, you giggled at his comment and sat down on his couch “do you wanna watch a movie?” Fred sat down beside you and titled his head at you “sure, what kind of movies do you have?” He pulled out a couple of dvd from a small drawer in his coffee table, you picked out your favourite movie; Friday the 13th “you have good taste! Friday the 13th is my favourite movie” he scooted closer to you as he popped the dvd in “really? It’s my favourite movie too!” you smiled at him as the beginning of the movie started playing. Fred closed up the space between you two and casually swung his arm around you. You leaned your head on his shoulder as you two watched the movie. He was really protective through out the enter movie, as if Jason himself would come through the screen and kill you

Soon enough the movie sends and the credits roll “that movie never gets old” he laughs and looks at you with loving eyes, you smiled and leaned upwards to capture his lips, he returned the kiss and you two were in pure bliss as you wrapped your arms around his neck, he pulls back from the kiss to attack your neck with kisses, you giggle at the sensation, he starts to nip and suck at your neck in order to leave hickeys, your hand goes to the back on his neck to pull him in closer. You were enjoying the moment you had together when you feel Fred’s side of the couch dip, your eyes open to find it was Fred’s dog bizkit, Fred pulled away and looked behind him to find his dog sitting on the couch panting and wagging his tail

“Awh! What a cutie!” You lean past Fred to pet his dog, bizkit leaned into your touch and started licking your hand, bizkit had grown very found of you, since you take care of him when Fred brings him on tour. Bizkit crawls over Fred and onto your lap, you chuckled as bizkit spins around to get comfortable in your lap, she finally stops spinning and lays down in your lap. You have to give bizkit belly rubs in order for him to fall asleep so you and Fred could continue You can see Fred getting jealous at all the attention you’re giving bizkit "don’t worry Fred, I still love you" you playfully tease him and ruffle his hair, you kiss him again, you can feel him smile against your lips and you two carry on from where you last left off “you know Fred, I’m sorry for being too shy to ever go up to you, but know that you asked me out I feel like all the shyness I feel around you is gone” it was true, you started to feel more comfortable around him and you feel as though you’ve known him for years “I thought your shyness was cute, and when you got all flustered when I would talk to you” shit! You didn’t know he had noticed, you smiled and looked back down at your lap and bizkit was still sleeping on you

“I’m glad he likes you ash much as I do” Fred’s voice was deep and masculine, he had you wrapped around his finger…. Finally, bizkit got up and sat down on the floor beside you “I wanted to make some dinner for you but, I didn’t know you’d be coming over so… do you wanna help me make spaghetti?” He sounded very unsure but cooking on a first date sounds like heaven to you “yeah!”

He leads you over to his kitchen and hands you an apron, your apron says “kiss the cook” and his says “mwah!” you laugh that he has matching aprons when he lives alone “really?” You stare at him with amusement on your face “I was waiting to use these for a while now” he laughs and walks to his cabinet to get Spagetti “ok,, I’ll boil some water and can get get out the tomato’s from the fridge?” You nod and open his fridge and take out the tomato’s, you start cutting them up and mushing them up into paste, you add some spices and by the time you realize it, the spaghetti was done boiling and the tomato sauce is done

“Wow the tomato sause looks so good! My little chief” you blush and smile at his dumb nickname, finally you finish putting the sauce on the pasta and it’s ready to be eaten “id say we make a pretty good team” fred agrees as you both start eating the pasta “this taste amazing! Do you want to sleep over so we can make something like this in the morning?” You look up from your pasta and raise your eyebrow at him “sure, do you have an extra room?” You were playing dumb, you knew that the two of you wanted to sleep together but you wanted to hear him say it “well, I was thinking…you could sleep with me” you have a cocky grin on your face, you’ve never felt this kind of confidence before “I’d love to” you take a sip of the red wine that Fred put out for the two of you

You both finish your dinner “I might’ve not have dinner ready but I do have dessert ready" he gets up and takes two tubs of ice cream out “do you want vanilla or strawberry? Those are the only two I have haha..” he’s so dreamy, his laugh makes your heart flutter “both, strawberry is my favourite” he nods and puts the two tubs on the counter and he pulls out two bowls “vanilla is my favourite, I know it’s basic but the taste is so good” you guys eat ice cream and talk about your life’s, you found out you two have a lot in common and that he’s the perfect man you’d want to be in a relationship with, you couldn’t have been happier that he asked you out

You two finish your ice creams and put the bowls in the sink “so, do you want to sleep now?” He wraps an arm around you waist and pulls you close. You nod and he leads you upstairs to his room, he opens the door and you look around his room “nice room" he kisses your forehead randomly, you didn’t mind but it was out of no where “I have some extra clothes for you in my closet you can wear" you walk over to his closet and take out the clothes he was talking about, you turn around and see him only in his underwear, he turns around and smiles at you “you like what you see?" He walks towards you to get something from his closet, he reaches for his cloths as his body presses against yours, you can feel your face getting hot and your heart beating fast “do I make you nervous? I can feel your heart beat” you stand there in shock and you fumbled over your words "s-shut up! Now turn around I’m gonna change” he smirks “I think I’m fine where I am" you get this cocky look all of a sudden “fine, play that game” you stare right at him as you take off your shirt, his mouth drops and his eyebrows raise, his hung mouth quietly turns into a grin as you take off the rest of your clothes so that you’re only in your underwear “you’re gorgeous you know that" thank god he couldn’t see the blush on your face right now, you finish putting on his shirt and put his pants on “what do you think?" You ask him “I think you look beautiful” he walks over to you and gives you a passionate kiss. You forget that he gave you hickeys and you notice that the hickeys he gave you are really noticeable, you don’t mind though at least everyone will know your his, he walks you over to his bed and lays down with you “thank you for agreeing to go out with me, I’ve always had a crush on you, even when your first started working here” he cuddles you and kisses your cheek “good night Y/N I love you” you hug him back “I love you too fred, good night” you slept well knowing that he loves you back

Good Stuff: Nimona

or How to Not Worry & Channel Your Inner Limp Bizkit

In the year before 2020, it was announced that Blue Sky Studios was adapting ND Stevenson's hit graphic novel. Everything changed though when Disney was on that bullshit post-Fox buyout, where to our surprise Blue Sky and Nimona would be shut down. The latter's cancellation hit especially hard understanding it was almost finished anyways, but that's Disney for you. Long as you don't say gay and give 'em your money, they'll stay out of the way. Leave it to Netflix to let the film rebound from Super Hell and finally make it to both the big and small screen; makes you forget they're garbage at anything else. All in all, Blue Sky had the last laugh one more time but was Nimona able to bring the flavorful fireworks or did we get a weak flare that fumbled before the 4th of July?

Well, I will declare now that the film... is fun. If it wasn't fun, that means Disney made it and would remake it live-action around 2040. This film is a ride-or-die by its titular protagonist and lads, I can't lie...

PROTECT. THIS. GODDAMN. SMILE.

Nimona is both a bundle of chaotic joy and an entity that deserved far better. She's like the manifestation of Limp Bizkit, 2000s punk, and B-tier shitposting rolled into an unapologetic but deeply frustrated rebel. I've seen naysayers before release going, "She's another attitude girl archetype" and like no. She has that raw gremlin bastard energy, but she's never an annoying bitch and that's big difference. The best thing is that you're with Ballister in getting to know her; it surprisingly hard for folk to be accepting of somebody harmless who's more comfortable with themselves than anyone lets on. She's not a character I felt forced to sympathize with nor was intrusive on Ballister's story. She's not exactly the focus, but she earned being the star of this movie.

I got major Haruhi and Kyon vibes from their dynamic and it's great

Plotwise, there's a good flow to it all that makes this rewatchable thrill. If there's one major gripe I have is that while Nimona and Ballister have a great dynamic, there's a part in the 2nd act involving them and the villain that was a bit rushed. I will admit to not have read the book, but while I do know the tone is different given they were probably going for an all age rating, I say things didn't feel too compromised. My mind is blown enough that we got an animated kids movie with two, COUNT 'EM TWO, openly queer protagonists. No winks and nudges towards Ballister being gay, no scatterbrained subtlety on Nimona's genderfluid existence, and thank balls their story exists as more than being a preachy memoir. These two get to just BE and live to go on a crime spree justice adventure. That is what I've wanted for longer than any of you think and this delivered. Any criticisms I could have I felt was diluted by the actual fun this was.

And if you've seen Iron Giant, you probably will love this movie

To conclude, I am wondering of a timeline where this wasn't originally cancelled and Blue Sky didn't get axed. This was as much their movie as it is Annapurna and DNEG who helped finish it. People said it looked "unfinished" but then again, given the situation I can cut it some slack because it still plays out gorgeously. Like you know Blue Sky got most of it done, but you think about the changes in direction and ponder if this was the best outcome for the film. It is poetic though, a phoenix forced to burn out but gets to revive as a stronger, if not more so, being that people finally get to see. For Nate, this is undoubtedly a dream come true. As for me, not since Puss in Boots The Last Wish have I been delighted to call this a...

9/10 ABSOLUTE BANGER
