He started out as just a plush I won at the fair a few years back, but last week I saw him in my closet and immediately thought "but what if it was a bag?"

So, I sewed a pocket out of two fat quarters and sewed THAT to a zipper, and then cut him down the seam in his back and sewed it in

It's neat cause you can hide the closed zipper under the fluff

From The Basement To the Skies: Sons of Rick launch debut EP at Broom Factory show

There is an air of festivity at the Broom Factory tonight, the evening of Friday, 4 April. As I step into the venue, I run into Nathan Graham and Ryleigh Stringer at the doors, two-fourths of the Kingston alternative rock band Sons of Rick, grinning from ear to ear.

Sons of Rick have been on the Kingston music scene for almost two and a half years now. In that time, they’ve gone from rehearsing in members’ basements to playing late nighters at the Toucan pub; they were the first band I had in the CFRC Radio studios, Queen’s University’s campus radio station, to record a live session, and are the reason for the existence of the CFRC Live Sessions show. They had also in this time started the short-lived St. Larry’s pub open-mic nights at St. Lawrence College, where they formed as students. All this while, they were workshopping their music and live act, becoming more confident performers, interacting more with the crowd and writing originals that showcased a range of influences: a love for 90s alt rock, metal, punk and indie, with different members each bringing their own touch to their originals.

Two years of work have finally amounted to their debut EP, called The Basement that came out on 4 April, named in honour of the hours spent in Nathan’s dad’s basement (the eponymous Rick) writing and rehearsing. The show tonight is in celebration of its release, and Sons of Rick are raring to go out and play it for people. They even plan to throw in newer songs, having kept busy writing beyond this EP.

Before them though, the stage is set by the support acts for tonight, two student bands who couldn’t be more different on the surface: Paper Bag Princes and Blunt Force Llama.

Hobbies and sub-hobbies

I've been working on implementing a sub-hobby system in my game recently and really enjoying it! I took a look at the different activities available for different hobbies and came up with my list, which I thought I'd share here.

I do have some mods that change the hobby enthusiasm of some objects, or add new ones - I'll link where applicable.

I don't assign these based on any system, just vibes. I usually stick with whatever hobby the game assigns, but I do sometimes change them if it really feels like it doesn't fit to me. The sub-hobbies are intended to be a main focus, but Sims can and will still try other aspects of their overall hobby, and other hobbies altogether sometimes too!

The list is a work in progress but I'm basically happy with it now.

Edit: I found a version of the punching bag that gives fitness enthusiasm instead of sports, and that activity makes more sense to me as a fitness thing, so I moved that sub-hobby over.

Edit 2: Combined a couple gaming subhobbies into "Social Games" and added MyShuno to that category.

Edit 3: Combined sewing and knitting into Fibre Arts under Arts & Crafts hobbies.

Edit 4: Added candlemaking to the Arts & Crafts category.

Foster Family Fixed an Issue with Add as Foster Child Cheat not working, when the Sim is not in a single Household. Added a new Shift Click Cheat to registered Sims (FF Network), where you can temporary disable the "New Foster Kids/Pets" Notifications, until you enable them again.

My Pets My Pets should not block Super Speed 3 anymore (e.g. when all Sims are sleeping).

Herbalism | New Potions Humanization Potion should work on Spellcaster, Mermaids, and Werewolves as well now. Changed the Mod from "Two Versions choose one" to one Version plus Addons.

Retail Overhaul - Go Shopping – More Options Part Fixed an Issue with a Script Error when trying to place certain Shelfs in a Store. Removed the two Addons and merged them with the Main Package.

Transfer Inventory Added "Take everything out of the Grocery Bag" on the Grocery Bag from the new Kitchen Clutter Kit.

RSM (Cats & Dogs) - Pets Longer Nap Added a bunch of Pet Sleep "Left At Home" Interactions and made them sleep longer as well. Those Sleep Interactions usually happen when all Sims are at work/School, or when all Sims are sleeping and Super Speed 3 gets activated.

RSM (Get Famous) - New Hug Animation If Confident Added a Test so the new Hug will only happen, when Get Famous is installed. Removed the Acting part from the Animation before the Hug.

Other Mods - Play Cards Anywhere Changing the Game to Cards, Llama, Sabacc, Simbles, or Puzzles should now be easier. Removed Ingame Resources. Mod Needs XML Injector now.
