LOTIC presenta por primera vez en Madrid el show audiovisual Endless Power creado junto al escenógrafo Emmanuel Biard donde actuará dentro de una corona reactiva de luz prismática.

El compromiso con la investigación, la evolución de los sonidos electrónicos y la comunidad afrodescendiente y queer son las temáticas en las que se basa el trabajo de J’Kerian Morgan aka Lotic desde sus inicios. Su nombre significa de, relativo o que vive en el agua y resume estos 10 años de trayectoria artística, primero como DJ y después como productora trabajando una evolución del R&B distorsionado. Su primer largo, Power, editado en 2018, transformó miedos y vulnerabilidades en la consolidación de una gran fuerza individual. Su nuevo y liberador disco, Water, suma a la experimentación electrónica, su propia intensidad vocal reflexionando acerca de la construcción de género, la realidad racial y migrante y la globalización.

Tras su paso por los festivales Sónar, CTM y Rewire, esta es la primera vez que presenta en Madrid este espectáculo acompañado de todo un referente internacional en el juego de luces, Emmanuel Biard, artista que trabaja regularmente en las puestas en escena de clubs como Fabric o con promotores como Hoya:Hoya. Ha colaborado también en los montajes visuales de Evian Christ y Koreless.

Lotic, estudió cine y música en la Universidad Americana de Austin, en 2011 debutó con el oscuro y complejo EP More Than Friends. Al año siguiente se mudó a Berlín, huyendo del conservadurismo de su Texas natal y enseguida destacó en la escena nocturna como DJ residente en clubs como Berghain y junto al colectivo artístico, Janus, también con la salida de distintas mixtapes, llamando la atención de Björk, que llegó a afirmar; "Lotic es la DJ más salvaje que he escuchado jamás", colaborando con elle en las remezclas de Vulnicura e invitándola a abrir su concierto de 2015 en Berlín. Una artista mutante y sorprendente que experimenta la electrónica desde su activismo trans.

FFTA2 has quite a few direct references toward FFXII like this one. The conclusion to Frimelda's quest is eerily reminiscent of the reply Ashe gives Vayne before the final battle.

They are very different characters at their core with very different stories, but in the end both of them are united by the same choice to hold on to their humanity so I suppose this is why they invited this comparison.

top five ecosystems!!

Intertidal Zone: Ahhhh, everything that can live where the tides change so drastically are so cool. Thriving when they're deep under the water or exposed to the air! Leaving behind little tide pools! And when you get to explore one it is so stunning to be walking on the ocean floor.

Deep Ocean: I specifically am thinking about ares surrounding hydrothermal vents. These places of extreme temperature that are incredibly hard to study. That is is so amazing that things can live there at all. Things living in high pressure and/or at extreme temperature. The extreme darkness. I mean, it's like space in the deep ocean. Drifting in space you're far less likely to see something strange and unknown that you are in the deep ocean.

Tundra: Lichens!!!!!!! Little shrubs! The distances with which you can see the land itself. The beautiful exposed rocks. Animals with big thick coats! I also just like the cold and the colours.

Lotic: Ahhhh, I love how varied these can be, and I love that these will shift their location over time. The way a river carves through the land and slowly shifts its own location over time. It's got places of slow moving water and fast moving water allowing for different conditions of life.

Wetlands: Birds!!!!!!!!!!!! So many cool birds!!!!!!!!! Birds and bugs!!!!!! So many things live in them! Also, they're very important with regards to erosion and preventing damage during storms. They do so much to keep the things past them *safe*

After a long break in my FFTA2 playthrough (known as spending 90+ hours playing Unicorn Overlord instead), I have come back to the game!

Before I stopped, I was in the proccess of completing the sidequest I was most looking forward to, to recruit the character I was most interested in... so much that I was willing to restart the same stage 10 times because that character kept dying in the first turn. So with Unicorn Overlord out of the way, I finally restarted the frustrating stage, watched her get killed in the first turn for about 10 more times or so, until luck was on my side and one of the enemies chose not to attack her in the first round which allowed me to heal her and finally work my way to victory.

I am proud to announce Frimelda Lotice is finally mine!

At first my reason for recruiting her was superficial: she's a woman, she is a knight, she has a sword, she looks cool (proof attached above). I'd have been satisfied with just this, but I thought her quest was the most engaging bit of the game (so far), and I wish her story could be more than just a sidequest.
