Note
Not all of these are directly vocaloid related and this mostly reflects my own tastes but.
Ryōshū probably listens to the DMCV and Metal Gear Rising: Revengence songs just loud enough that others can hear it if they sit next to her. Agree on the ADO but would also add Butchers Vanity (chef), symaG, Kan Kan and MARETU.
Faust probably is into game OSTs, like the ones for Neir:Automata and the SMT series. Plus blackY, a lil bit of Team Grimoire, and Touhou. As well as general classical sometimes - I feel like she'd prefer instrumentals. Rhythm game ahh music taste when she isn't trying to focus on something (because she is good at them)
Heath would absolutely like vocaloid, but specifically a real sucker for the catchy ones like Mesmerizer and Luka Luka ☆ Night Fever. Listens to jubyphonic for EN covers. Oft falls prey to the 'bopping song/depressing lyrics' phenomenon (just like Sinclair)
Yi Sang likes peaceful sounding songs, like (gestures at Mili) and video game OSTs ,but I I see him liking upbeat ones like La Primavera and I Got It!. He listens to more songs with lyrics after canto 4.
Sinclair likes Tokyo Teddy Bear. Neru, PinoccioP, MARETU, DECO * 27, syudou and generally the most popular Vocaloid artists like a decade ago. Also likes the occasional classical and stuff like Take Me to Church, Partners in Crime and TLT's Discord remix. Listens to Nightcore when he thinks nobody else can hear it (they can). Eminem.
Gregor likes the songs that shops play bc they were popular 5-30 years ago.
Donqui is also a rhythm game fiend but esp likes the ones like Sswwiinnddlleerr or The Big Black where you aren't 100% sure throwing kitchenware down the stairs or putting an orchestra in a centrifuge wasnt at least a part of the process. Loves Fixer anthems/themes (they probably sound like indie horror game fansongs) and anime songs like A Cruel Angel's Thesis, Lifetime Girl Declaration and Lucky Star's Opening. Eurobeat.
Charon does not yet know what Eurobeat is. This is the reason the bus only hits things sometimes.

oh my gosh limbus headcanons in my inbox let’s go?? I’ll try responding to these erm hold on.
Ryōshū one I absolutely agree with, can’t believe I never considered Butchers Vanity and the MGR:R soundtrack. She would totally listen to loud blaring songs and metal, songs with raw emotions. But maybe also songs with deeper meanings because uh. Art or something.
Faust being a rhythm gamer is just yes.
You worded the Heathcliff vocaloid bit way better than I did. Imagining Heathcliff listening to mesmerizer or Young girl A completely oblivious, yeah. Jubyphonic as a go-to for english covers is very valid. I also think he might like Laufey for the love songs and such, a bit of mitski or joji in there too perhaps.
I’ve personally always imagined Yi Sang liking any song with some kind of deep meaning behind it(trademark) or some story because erm, typical poet behavior. But he definitely would feel intimidated by loud blaring music so he sticks to mellow, slow-paced songs. At times I imagine him liking the Hawaii Part ii album because of the lore(trademark), other times I imagine him listening to funkytown unironically.
Sinclair, he probably even shares a playlist with Heathcliff. Generally agree on this and I think he would be even more secretive about his music taste than Heathcliff. Sinclair being Sinclair. Probably also shares a playlist with Ryōshū due to them hanging out a lot. Take me to church fits really well considering his source material. Also Eminem oh my god…???
Gregor being a Dad oh god… Sounds accurate honestly. I think he would like Army Dreamers by Kate Bush though.
Don checks out. She’s probably really good at certain songs in rhythm games and absolutely terrible in others, no in between. I like to imagine she comes up with her own fixer songs, almost like a disney channel musical movie protagonist. Just randomly starts singing on the spot. Considering that one Don Quixote musical, if it existed somehow in the Project Moon universe she would love it.
Charon….
Tumblr media
Yeah that sounds about right for Ishy. For me she listens to sea shanties very often, mostly for the nostalgia. But those really sad sea shanties like Bones in the Ocean, and other stuff by The Longest Johns or other shanty bands. There’s one I found that’s directly telling the story of Moby Dick (as well as the Moby Dick musical) I know it won’t mix very well considering the lore and timeline just like with the Don Quixote one but still.
Tumblr media
No worries :D
Tumblr media
I have never heard such a specific name for song. I searched it up just now and thank you anon for introducing me to nanahira lol.
But with Hong Lu mentioned I honestly think he wouldn’t know much about pop songs prior to joining Limbus Company, probably from his relatives keeping him sheltered from the outside world. He probably only knew about traditional songs or classical pieces. But being in Limbus Company now he definitely would share similar tastes to Don Quixote, or is probably really open to any kind of music because he’s never heard a lot of it. I think he’d like Bitter Choco Decoration.
Phew that was a lot. Thank you anon for the fun headcanons to read and think about!!

Nevada isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us
Rogue Player AU: Prologue Part 1
Madness: Project Nexus Self Aware AU belongs to saltymongoose
I was also inspired by Purgatory Mode - New Player AU by dallyfae who further inspired me and encouraged me to post my fanfic
Check them both out they're phenomenal! Story is on an indefinite hiatus.
CW: Violence, obsessive behavior(?)/toxicity(?), slight language, Player is all around not a good person here tbh-
This originated on the idea of the Player being a "bad guy". After all, the Player is a powerful being. The Player could easily develop a Phobos-esque God complex from the endless adoration from the vessels. Also I'm just doing this for fun, so I don't mean to step on anyone's toes whatsoever. I also haven't finished Arena Mode yet, so my AU may not be 100% lore accurate forgive me. I'm so nervous to post this, but I had a lot of fun writing it so enjoy!
Next>>
Tumblr media
No one knows how it began. Sure, there was a lead-up to it. Hank, Sanford, Deimos, and the others could sense the Player's new craving for violence and power, but they didn't know where these new desires manifested. Despite some of the group's apprehension, they did not confront their concerning behavior until it was too late. Their beloved Player turned rogue and abandoned them. It is now up to the forsaken vessels to put aside their differences and stop the Player's rampage before Nevada resides further into disaster.
In an attempt to corner them, the vessels agree to use Sheriff as bait...
Sheriff, on the other hand, absolutely loathes this decision. They want him to act as bait for the Player? Someone, he not only respects but is rather intimidated by? It's not like he could say no—not with Hank there.
According to Christoff, the Player seems to be targeting any grunt in a position of power. That's why Sheriff, who's in charge of MERC, is the only one at short notice who could draw them in. Christoff warned him that his defenses would need major reinforcements against the Player. The goal was to distract them long enough to give Christoff and the others a window of opportunity to act.
After a long night of deliberation, Sheriff constructs a fort of defenses that he hopes is dense enough to delay their wrath. Christoff predicts MERC will be targeted today for a myriad of reasons, but the main gist Sheriff got was that he's "next in line".
Like Christoff predicted, the Player did indeed arrive at MERC, but... they’re different from how Sheriff remembers them. The Player's strings, now dull ebony, are tangled tightly around their being (and it honestly looks uncomfortable). Your soft tender smile is now stoic and sour. What happened?
"AUUGH!" a cry from one of his men jolts Sheriff back to reality. The Player slams the recruit to the ground while their strings grasp another.
"Where's the Sheriff?" with no response, the recruit is haphazardly flung over their shoulder. This display puts a deep pit in Sheriff's stomach. They really are out for his head. It won't be long before they breach his first line of defense, so he retreats further into the building for his own sake.
---
"Christoff, where the hell are you?" Sheriff plants himself around the corner from the Player. He's sweating enough bullets for an army.
The Player, on the other hand, is irritated by everyone's lack of cooperation. Is it that hard to tell them where the Sheriff is? Their strings catch a wrench inches from their skull. The Player snaps their head back and locks eyes with the laborer trying to strike them. Amidst his pleas for mercy, their strings spin around his neck and drag him closer. They get a hold of the wrench and raise it threateningly.
"You have three seconds to tell me where-"
Klang! The wrench propelled out of their grasp. Someone shot at them. The Player’s eyes snap to the anxious cowboy pointing his revolver in their direction. Merely tossing the laborer aside, the Player homes in on the fleeing Sheriff.
"Christoff, get yer ass here now!" He rounds another corner but collides with another grunt. "Hey! Get! Get outta my-" Sheriff now sees the bright red orbs of the grunt in front of him and recoils with a yelp. He then spots Christoff not far behind. "Well, ‘bout time you showed up."
"I trust that you were well equipped to preoccupy the Player until our arrival," Christoff says with crossed arms. Before Sheriff responds, the Player approaches from around the corner.
"Player, you go no further," says Christoff"Yes, not without that," the Player hums, stretching an arm towards Christoff, "Ť̵̬h̵͎͆ȅ̸̦ ̵͓̓k̷͚̉ḛ̵̓y̸͈͑s̵̞̃t̷̥̆ò̸̤ń̵̙e̸̤͠ ̵̤͌f̵̞̕r̶͈͝à̵̤g̷͙͠m̶͇̋ẻ̶͖n̵̙̆t̴̢͆.̸͖̎"
Tumblr media
Edited A/N: I cannot believe I didn't fact check myself when I said "artifact" instead of "keystone fragment". I wasn't entirely wrong, but I meant keystone fragment f- so I fixed it.

HI HELLO YES HERES A RESURFACING CHILDHOOD MEMORY THAT IM OBSESSING OVER AGAIN!
During my last Power Rangers hyperfix (when i was 11-13 maybe?) I made a team called Power Rangers Jungle Thunder. As far as I know, it never went past the initial concept besides doodles on my school notes, as I didn’t know how to draw humans at the time.
Brace yourselves because this is a very rare loooong text post from me.
So here’s everything I remember about it along with some new stuff me and some buddies came up with!
Jungle Thunder was basically a cross between some of Megaforce’s mechanics and the ranger colors along with Jungle Fury’s theming. The Ranger’s attacks were likely magic based.
Their headquarters was this massive temple shrine ish place deep inside a distant jungle.
The colors and Zords were as followed: Red Jaguar, Blue Cobra, Yellow Macaw, Pink Cheetah, Black Lemur. They were kept in what was basically the temple’s backyard/back garden?
The bad guys were this reptilian ailen race called the Sintonians who understandably trying to take over Earth like every other Power Rangers villain. They interestingly used the traits and morphing energy of past Ranger teams to make each episode’s bad guy. The main antagonist was this dude called Lord Fury who I don’t remember a whole lot about. Other than he was blue.
The sixth ranger was this nonhuman White Ranger, who the team affectionately nicknamed “Buddy.” I forgot what animal he was, but he was created by the Sintonians to attack our heroes with. Of course, they end up befriending him. He had feral form that I’m struggling to remember how it worked, if any?
And the Pink Ranger’s name was Emmie. That’s the only one of the human Rangers whose name I can remember.
Ok. That’s all the original stuff 12yo Daring came up with. She got the concept down, now it’s time for all all the new juicy lore and tweaks. :3
The mentor/sensei character is this tree/dryad deity called Mother Gaia. (Kinda basic but it’s what me and the squad on discord decided on) She’s rooted to the center of the temple (name of said temple still pending) and is very curious about modern humanity, as she hasn’t seen humans in over a thousand years. Also she’s like a mom to them because I love found family dynamics ok
Another supporting character will be Esteban, a jungle spirt who is essentially Mother Gaia’s assistant. Basically Alpha-5’s role compared to Zordon. Don’t know what he’s gonna look like yet, but he’ll be a big help to the Rangers by teaching them their new abilities.
The Zords are pretty interesting. They all look like normal animals apart from the fact their eyes are their respective Ranger’s color. They’re actually the Spirt Guardians, who were sent by Gaia to find the Rangers. Each animal can transform into a giant Zord upon their Ranger’s command. Makes the back garden thing much more manageable if they’re not always giant robots.
If Jungle Thunder were an actual show, there’d sometimes be bumpers before and after commercial breaks with cool jungle and animal facts. :)
Buddy will likely have a basilisk or some type of reptile as his animal, being able to run really fast and stick to walls. Basically he’s the fucked up cryptid the team ends up adopting and I love him.
Ok. so here’s what I have of the lore and basic gist of the first episode. It’s still a wip so bear with me here✨
Long long ago, an ancient civilization in the jungle worshiped Mother Gaia and the Spirt Guardians. All was peaceful until Lord Fury (another deity) attacks, as he was very jealous that he wasn’t getting any attention. Gaia, Estaban and the Spirt Guardians managed to seal Lord Fury away deep underground, but not after he and his army had driven away and destroyed most of said civilization in an intense battle. The jungle itself had to be sealed off from the rest of world so Gaia could maintain the sealing spell that kept Fury at bay.
Fast forward to modern day. (dunno if it’s gonna be in 2024 or mid 2000s)
The Sintonian aliens land on Earth looking for a place to stay, and find the chasm in which Fury had been sealed. They make a deal with Fury, agreeing to follow him in exchange for their services, as they knew how to harness Morphing Energy. This pleases Fury greatly, as he may have a chance at getting vengeance on Gaia and humanity.
Gaia gets news of this and sends the Spirt Guardians to find five descendants of the past civilization with pure hearts to be the next heroes. Unbeknownst to five midwestern college students on a hiking trip, their lives are about to change. Their names are Reno, Isiah, June, Emmie, and Braxton.
The Jaguar Guardian steals the soon-to-be Red Ranger’s backpack. They are led by the animal guardians into a cave that is later how they get to and from the jungle. They meet Mother Gaia and Esteban, who explain the whole situation. After learning they were indeed not getting sacrificed, they agree to serve Gaia and protect humanity. Anything to get away from student loans tbh.
Spirt Guardians proceed to beam spiritual power into them via a ritual. Totally not trauma inducing at all. This power is how the Rangers morph, or are alerted to any of Fury’s shenanigans via Gaia’s telepathic power.
After some more debriefing from Tree Mother and her son, the newly formed Rangers get an alert. The Sintonians are terrorizing the local park in their generic midwestern town. The Rangers suit up and use their super cool new magic powers to kick some butt! :D Hooray!
Ok. Wow. That was a lot of words.
There are still some holes and other things I missed but that’s pretty much everything! It’s always so fun to find something I made as a kid and breathe new life into it! As if I didn’t have enough Ocs already :’) will soon be thinking of everyone’s designs.
That was a certified DaringDoombringer infodump about a nostalgic childhood interest. Thank you for reading and have a good day!

Battle Against a True Hero (Shezarrine v Sithis)
Author's Note: Yes this is Undyne the Undying-inspired because when the fight is against Sithis I'm not sure who else I know that would fit the bill better for inspiration. This is me attempting to work some stuff out and write exciting bits when I'm doing more buildup-y stuff in the current chapters. "Shattered Lorkhan" stuff, lots of Lorkhan lore I'm making up myself. I'm shit at fight scenes, but this'll probably end up better in the "final" version. As usual nothing is canon until it actually shows up in FHW.
-------------------------
The mer, no, the thing standing before her spoke no words at first, merely stood smirking.
They had an audience. The Stormcloaks that stood watching in rapt horror, the imperial army nearby, a scattering of others--and at the forefront Sadrith saw Voryn.
This is what I was made to do, she thought, This is where even HE was meant to go.
She looked back to the one before her. He had maintained a steady physical form at first, what one might expect of an Altmer, with his robe a deep void that shimmered with stars. Now every detail of him was in a state of constant flux, with nothing remaining the same. Hair, feather, scale, fur, claws--
But still living.
That was the key to all this. The chaos before her was alive, and what was more, was enjoying it.
Then a laugh.
"The Blade of Woe? You were never adept with the bigger swords, weak child."
Sadrith took a deep breath, and charged. Each blow struck true but seemed to do little, and in her mind the Crusader rose. She ducked the next few blows, tucked away the Blade of Woe, and brought up the sword of the Crusader.
He is powerful, but he is not unbeatable.
Each strike she felt in return was worse than any yet put upon her by a weapon before, and Sithis fought with no weapon but his hands. Unnatural things, for despite the changing nature of the rest of him there was in the feeling of his fingernails a sensation more akin to that of claws than anything else.
There was a rapid flurry of attacks, and when she fell back, hit by the last of them, an oppressive weight settled on her chest.
"Give up, child," Sithis spoke, "Do the job you were created for, and you shall have the joy of being the last creation of mine to live."
Sadrith spat blood, and struggled to her feet.
If I rebelled, so can you
Alduin's voice was the next to ring out - and she groaned at the expansion in her mind as he joined Pelinal.
"You never did know when to quit."
The sword of the Crusader was knocked aside, but she soon brought to hand a Dragonbone replacement. Every muscle was tired, screaming with fatigue, but she could feel the anticipation and fear from those who watched, felt their hopes, felt their focus upon defeating Sithis.
Sithis did not even attempt to block her next blows.
"Alduin?" he laughed when she Shouted and deflected the flames easily, "Yes. Yes, my wayward son, my first mistake. The bit of Akatosh that I chiseled off from him to form you. Chaos itself - and yet what did you do? You tried to form empires to fight against me! Every dragon priest, every slave, all made and taken to resist what you should have done to start!"
"You wanted an end, so you made one. That sounds like order to me." Sadrith stopped momentarily to catch her breath. "You are nothing if not contradictory."
"Lorkhan, do not backtalk me. It was I who created you. I who twisted the piece of Akatosh into something usable."
"Shor," she said.
"What?"
"My name is Shor," she said, speaking words that somehow were hers and yet not hers, "I cast off the name you gave me long ago. I am not--will not--be the end of those here. I will save them...I will..."
"Thousands of years you have been trying to incarnate, to shore up the world against me, and for thousands of years you have failed. You think you wield weapons? They are toys. Toys in the hand of a child who has no idea of their potential. You could have been my crowning achievement! Now--now, you are NOTHING!"
Her head was a whirlwind, but she kept her eyes on the THING before her despite it.
Gradually. Gradually. They had to join slowly, or her mind would be broken before it could hold the pieces.
On your feet. The Heart is yours. Ours. And with it we will triumph.
And then, as Voryn had done when she had been firmly in the throes of detoxing from the skooma, the typhoon cleared. Her next weapon was Keening, drawn from her bag and used to block one of Sithis' furious blows.
"So the Dark Heart has come home. How fitting for you to be the guildmaster of thieves, your body is full of things that are not yours!" A cracked laugh, in what seemed like several tones at once. Fangs showed at his lips, began lengthening, and unlike the rest of the body, weren't in that state of flux. "He is as much chaos as you are, only of a different kind. How much of a fool can you be? How much more will you fight this hopeless battle?"
A burning feeling settled in her chest as her heart beat rapidly away. Sithis was for a handful of seconds the same shape, and his flux wasn't as rapid either.
What was happening?
A warrior's resolve...the rebel, the darkness, the light...chaos, order...
There was a peal of laughter and a poof of butterflies as the next voice spoke.
Aye, are we doing something fun? No one told me! Oh, that DOES look nasty...well, don't tell anyone I did this, but...
The Wabbajack appeared, from where she did not know.
Give our father a taste of his own medicine.
Sadrith aimed it directly at Sithis, and once more he laughed.
His form was shifting to a serpent, and its color stayed the same. The state of constant flux had come to an end. There was a strike against her face and she fell back, clutching the Wabbajack as her head spun and her vision swam.
"You pathetic little stain," he hissed, "I should have blotted you out before you drew your first breath. I should have known better than to trust you would do the job I made you for. A lesson to learn before I consign you to the Void, child - never delegate work to others when you can do it yourself. It prevents...failures like this."
His hatred is anchoring him, another thought came as she charged the Wabbajack and blasted Sithis with it. There was a flash of light and an explosion of fire, and Sadrith had to raise her arm to block her eyes from the heat of it.
She lowered the Wabbajack with her other hand and shot blindly forward--and from a sudden lack of noise figured something must have happened. When her vision cleared she couldn't help but laugh.
The mighty Sithis, reduced to a harmless little bunny rabbit, but not for very long. She reached for another weapon.. From her arsenal was drawn now the sword of Jyggalag. Had she been able to think of her situation objectively, from the outside, she might have thought how ridiculous she looked. Wabbajack in one hand, Jyggalag's sword in the other, as she looked down upon the most innocent looking creature in all Tamriel.
But energy crackled, magic sparked, and soon from beneath the rabbit's fur burst the serpent anew.
Her mind was still, even as the raging serpent before her struck in rapid succession. She was tired, gods, how tired, every muscle aching more and more with every attempt to move. Yet somehow something -- something kept her moving.
There is no solution for chaos but order, the voice said in her head.
There are plenty of ways to counter chaos! More chaos, I say!
Fools, all of you.
Strike NOW!
DESTROY HIM!
The serpent of chaos lashed forward to strike and she turned the Wabbajack, intending to blast Sithis with it again--but her hand trembled and all she managed to do was jab the head-end in his mouth. She followed the whim to shove it further, and rushed forward to put a boot on its neck.
"You're choking," she said, "That's new to you, isn't it? You're the Is-Not. The void. The chaos. You're not supposed to feel anything. This body is just a shell."
A laugh, hers or Dagoth Ur's or Alduin's or Sheogorath's she did not know.
"But you spent so much time alive...enjoyed it..." Both hands now, on the hilt of Jyggalag's sword. She turned the sword point down.
Deep breath.
Sithis had made his physical form MORE than what it had been intended to be by living.
I cannot die. You cannot slay that which is not!
The thought appeared in her mind, and wrenched painfully with something new.
Fear. Sithis was afraid.
He was no longer the Is-Not, or rather, not only that. He had lived, truly lived, in a mortal body, with all its ups and downs. All its joys and sorrows. He had become more than what he was, and thus came the key to drive him back.
She pressed her boot down harder, and held the sword point above the serpent's eye. Why she hesitated, she was unsure. But still, there was that moment.
Without me, none of you would ever have come to be! Without me--
"Without you we will LIVE!"
She drove the sword down with a yell; an unholy screech that left her ears pounding followed. The serpent's body lashed back at her, tried to coil about her, choke the life from her even as its own was ebbing away.
I will come back. I will come back, and visit the pain you cause now tenfold upon you!
The only thing keeping her upright now was Jyggalag's sword, and Sadrith clung to it like a lifeline, until the serpent's struggle ended.
"And I will be here waiting."
Then she fell back, and all went black.

"Imbibitor Lunae, successor of the Azure Dragon, commander of the clouds and rain. Tasked with watching over the Ambrosial Arbor. In reckless arrogance, invoked the Transmutation Arcanum." - The Prodigal Return (Dan Heng IL Trailer)
“The High Elder of the Luofu Vidyadhara, a peerless and esteemed figure who oversees his clan affairs from his divine seat. He is respected and feared for his wisdom, his destructive might, and his gifted healing spells. What the people do not see is underneath his title, Dan Feng is a person with emotions like anyone else…”
Backstory
Note: Some of the beginning parts are my headcanons of his childhood. The rest are canons as said in-game and in-game lore.
Dan Feng, or commonly referred to as Imbibitor Lunae (Yinyue Jun) is the previous incarnation of Dan Heng.
When Dan Feng was still alive, he was the High Eder of the Luofu Vidyadhara. Like his predecessors before him, Dan Feng was raised in a sheltered upbringing for most of his life. As the next successor to the Azure Dragon, he was educated by the Senior Vidyadhara (The Preceptors) in all manners of subjects- including how to conduct himself as the High Elder. However, like most children, Dan Feng is a curious soul who disliked staying indoors all day. Whenever his babysitter of the day isn’t looking, he’ll escape the Alchemy Commission to try to join the other children and be a child for a day. Every time he is brought back, Dan Feng is scolded for acting unruly and worrying the others for his disappearance.
While Dan Feng feels guilty, he can’t help feeling deep down they are more concerned for the High Elder than “Dan Feng”.
At a young age, Dan Feng displayed endless potential in Cloudhymn magic without needing any device to command water. As noted by his instructor, he is the chosen one (next High Elder).
Once Dan Feng became of age, he was officially named High Elder after completing a ceremonial ritual by resealing the Ambrosial Arbor. This was not the only rite he went through, but this is the most important of all. Yet Dan Feng's monotone life continued on, waiting for the day his successor arrives and he will personally train them until he returns to the sea.
As the High Elder and a citizen to the Luofu, Dan Feng is committed to his duty to both. Naturally, he must join the fight against the Plague Author army of abominations. His power is feared and respected by many, because the casualties from both allies and enemies are high. When it is time for Dan Feng to unleash a tide and rain spears down from the clouds, his allies must move before they’re caught by the crossfire of his merciless attacks.
Later on, Dan Feng is recruited by Jingliu to join her group: The High-Cloud Quintet. The five of them would leave their marks in history for their accomplishments in the war against the Plague Author. At the peak of their careers, Dan Feng believed he found his place amongst the Luofu- people he can call “friends” (and beloved) he can trust with his life.
Unfortunately, in less than a century, the High-Cloud Quintet fell from grace in the Year 7379 Star Calendar when Baiheng sacrificed herself in the battle against Shuhu.
Her death became a catalyst for the incident known as the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae.
Dan Feng committed a grave sin in an attempt to revive Baiheng and solve the Vidyadhara reproduction problem. The ritual, using the Transmutation Arcanum, had failed and created a dragon abomination that caused destruction to many. Shortly, it would be slayed by Jingliu sword. Yingxing, his accomplice, was caught in the crossfire (and transformed into an immortal who would later be known as “Blade”).
In the aftermath, Dan Feng was imprisoned in the Shackling Prison. Impaled by nails and held up by chains, he was interrogated until it became clear he would not speak. Finally, he was sentenced to a forced molting rebirth and his reincarnation, Dan Heng would be kept in prison to take his punishment. He would remain in the Shackling Prison until Jing Yuan announces his exile.
[Please refer to the “Lore” for full details of his character story.]
Appearance
[Please refer to the above image for Dan Feng appearance.]
Personality
As Imbibitor Lunae, he is seen as an ethereal figure far beyond mortal reach. He acts as how people expect him to be: a deity who is cold, mysterious, indifferent, and arrogant. Though beneath his stone-cold exterior is a person capable of feelings and emotions.
Dan Feng is arrogant, because he refuses to allow the Perceptors to trample all over him. He is confident in every decision he makes for the well-being of his clan. Not only that, but Dan Feng is aware of his own abilities and combines that with his stubborn nature- He is a force to be reckoned with. He will not become someone's puppet.
For a selected few he considers friends/family/beloved, he will lower his walls around them. The trust he puts in you is significant, because he trusts you to not take advantage of it. He wants you to see him as Dan Feng and not Imbibitor Lunae.  He is not the cold and indifferent person you believed him to be, but someone who cares deeply about you and others.
Yes, Dan Feng will be awkward expressing his feelings as he had little opportunity to do that. But he definitely enjoys spending time with friends whether it’s going out the markets together, sparring, or staying indoors to drink wine/tea and chat.
Because when you have Dan Feng loyalty and trust, his vow to you is as solid as stone the heavens.
Abilities
Note: The Paths will depend on plotting, whether as an AU/Canon Divergent AU, or Dan Feng can switch Paths whenever he wants. This is all Headcanon and not set in stone yet.
Path of Destruction: Dan Feng follows the path of Destruction, delivering devastating attacks with Imaginary damage. He summons dragons and spears, manipulating waters with his Cloudhymn Magic.  Path of Abundance: Dan Feng follows the path of Abundance. He uses his Cloudhymn magic to heal allies and provide buffs for a certain period of time (Skill). However, he can still do major Imaginary damage to enemies as an AOE attack while healing allies (Ultimate).
Cloudhymn Magic: Due to his heritage, Dan Feng had a strong aptitude with Cloudhymn magic. He is capable of controlling water, creating mirages of lotuses and spears, sealing/breaking seals, manipulating the weather, and powerful healing.
Levitation: It is implied Dan Feng can float/fly into the air as a humanoid.
Transformation: It is implied Dan Feng, as High Elder, can transform into a full dragon. He is also capable of hiding his Vidyadhara features and appear as an unassuming humanoid.
Martial Arts: Dan Feng  is proficient in Cloudlancer art, one of the many martial arts used in the Xianzhou. While it is possible for Dan Feng to be familiar with other weapon types, including bare-handed martial arts, he prefers the spear.
Combat Experience: Since he was trained to fight and join the war against the Abundance, it is natural Dan Feng has build-up experience from that. He is a powerful spell-caster and a strong warrior who enjoys sparring with Jingliu and the other HCQ members.
Weapon: Dan Feng wields a magical orb/pearl acting as a catalyst for his powers. Cloud Piercer is a spear he wields with pride as it was forged by Yingxing. Other weapons are pretty special artifacts growing rusty in his treasury.
Physical Stats: With a durable body and fighting experience, Dan Feng physical abilities are above a regular human. Also, he heals faster than a normal person.
Longevity: The Vidyadhara are able to live up to a few centuries (around 700 years) before they reincarnate. They stop aging at a certain point, appearing eternally youthful for the rest of their lives until they are ready to return to the sea.
Notes
Dan Feng will always appear as the High Elder. I do HC he can disguise himself as a normal humanoid.
Dan Feng in this blog will be referred to as Imbibitor Lunae/Yinyue Jun. There will be times he will be called by his name, but he is used to being called by his title.

Alright, I've finally got a good place to dump my vision of how magic works in Minecraft, along with other bits of lore mostly concerning sculk and souls.
From what we see in the game, there's three distinct types of magic: soul magic, enchantment magic, and potion magic. But the latter two actually have a rather direct connection to soul magic.
Potion magic's connection finds a link through how potions are made. Most potions use nether wart as a base. Poison is only an exception because its only ingredient is inherently poisonous. Nether wart grows exclusively on soul sand, a dark sand containing souls of the dead. Some of these seem to be released when you walk over it wearing boots enchanted with Soul Speed. Nether wart only requires soul sand to grow, unlike most plants. The nether wart draws its energy and nutrition from the soul sand it grows in, storing the souls inside of it to power the effects of potions.
Enchantment magic finds a connection through the energy expended when enchanting an item. We all know this energy as experience. Most mobs drop it on death, and more fearsome creatures that have likely killed more other creatures drop more. Experience itself is actually a form of soul energy. A creature will absorb the soul energy of those it slays, along with any soul the victim has collected from its own victims.
Now that we know how all the magic extends from soul energy, we need to dive into the heart of soul hidden in the depths of the overworld. The deep dark was once a normal cave with a bustling underground civilization that built large cities filled with rare treasures. Their advanced technologies enabled them to harness soul energy in certain ways, such as creating a shard that could detect a specific soul from far away; an echo of a past life.
As we all know, boundless experimentation causes accidents, mishaps, and mistakes that can bring harm to civilization. An experiment gone too far created an infection that harnesses the soul energy of those who die near it to spread across the caves. This infectious yet seemingly harmless material was named sculk. When not mined with silk touch, sculk drops much of the experience, or as we now know, soul energy, used in its creation and spread. With it came sculk sensors: mounds of sculk with vibration-sensing tendrils protruding from their surface. The ancient civilization entered a new golden era as they realized that sculk sensors were a powerful redstone device. They became universal and commonly used to power contraptions with ease. Eventually, they found the could combine amethyst with the sensors to have them only be sensitive to specified sources of vibrations or even relay vibrations over longer distances.
At one point, the sculk infection created a new object. It had arms arcing up over a basin of swirling souls. People were curious of it, and a sculk sensor was placed near it in a scientific test of how it would interact. A vibration was created, and the sensor relayed the vibration to the new object. The object produced an ear-piercing shriek, producing glowing rings replicating the sound waves it emitted. Then everyone's vision went dark, and the ground began to tremble.
From the sculk, a horrific creature emerged. Its body was made of sculk and held a reservoir of souls in its chest akin to that of the object that had just earned the name of sculk shrieker. Nobody moved, everyone awestruck at the sight of this monster. Then a scientist began to write notes, and the simple scraping of quill on paper had the creature turn its head. Soon, that city was wiped out. The escaped survivors warned other cities. The streets of the cities were covered in the wool that they had found muffled the vibrations. Eventually, the sculk infection overran all the cities, and the cave-crawling warden stripped the deep caves of life. The final attempt at defending the last stronghold failed, and the strongest army was defeated. This can be heard in disc 5, recorded as a last record of history, shattered and scattered across the cities. An entire underground civilization, completely unknown to those who stayed above the surface, wiped out by their own hand.
Next we have the wither. A flying, skeletal abomination created with the skulls of skeletons left to wither away in the nether and the sand containing screaming souls. This creature is in no way natural, and is powered by the soul energy infused into its bones.
Another thing to address is soul fire and its products. Normal fire burns orange, but burning soul-filled materials produces a bright blue flame. This fire is similar in colour to the general colour scheme of souls seen elsewhere. Walking with soul speed? Blue souls being released from the ground. Sculk also has light blue flecks in its surface, where the souls contained within it nearly reach the outside.
As you can see, soul energy has many connections throughout the lore and history of the Minecraft world. The magical properties of soul can be observed in many ways, and experimentation with it led to the downfall of an entire civilization. Soul can be useful and revolutionize your experience in the world, but it is also a dangerous, boundless form of energy that can bring serious harm to those who misuse it.
I've got more lore to dump, but I need to theorize and connect more dots. But I'll be back some day with more for the likely few people that see this.

The Crossroads [DLC Trespasser]: Elven Mountain Ruins ,  Forgotten Sanctuary; Vallaslin Removal Chamber and Hidden Armoury
Tumblr media
In the time of Elvhenan, this valley was a sanctuary created by Fen'Harel to give shelter to elven slaves. He rejected the divine mantle himself and taught the refugees the truth about the Evanuris in the surrounding towers. In the Forgotten Sanctuary, Fen'Harel removed the vallaslin, giving the now free slaves the chance to join his army in order to fight back against the pretender gods.
[This is part of the series “Playing DA like an archaeologist”]
[Index page of Dragon Age Lore]
The Vallaslin Removal Chamber
Tumblr media
Here, we find one of the murals of DAI [I make a deep analysis of all the murals in “Murals in DAI”]. For now I can say, briefly, that I’m not so sure if this one was made by Solas.
We know his technique is not unique, it belongs to the ancient elves [proof of this is given by the archivist Banon of Skyhold in The Rotunda and the Fresco]. Technically, any educated elf of the past could have done it.
We already saw how much of a romantisation of Fen’Harel was done in the mosaics of Fen’Harel’s mountain ruins, so this mural may perfectly be part of them as well. My main argument to put in question this is that we never saw Solas draw himself in the way he is presented here, so I’m a bit sceptical about his authorship.
Tumblr media
This mural pictures Fen’Harel as a person wearing a wolf cape and a fine robe. The intricate patterns of the fabric makes him look more important, more “Evanuris”,  when he usually draws himself with the same kind of robes than the slaves are wearing: a black and green simple robe. I think there is an intent of idealisation of Fen’Harel by making his outfit fancy and more elaborated.
The figure is covering his face with a wolf mask [so, technically, anyone can take this role] and removes the vallaslin of the slaves. To me, this figure represents, ironically, a “priest” of Fen’Harel, a representative that embodies Fen’Harel’s (romanticised) ideas and shares and applies the power that Fen’Harel himself gave them [aka, the spell to remove the Vallaslin]. This figure could be a mage that knows the spell and removes the Vallaslin in groups of recently arrived slaves.
We saw the removal of the Vallaslin in the romance scene of Solas: it’s a mere spell that doesn’t need any great material or fashion to perform, it’s easy and doable if you know the spell. Another extra detail to support this suspicion is the figure’s staff. That’s not Solas’ staff.
Tumblr media
We know his staff from his tarot card (number 1), it is a kind of a “halla profile” with a very messy set of horns. In the mural of the red lyrium idol, he painted his staff (number 3) closer to the design of 1 than 2.  Staff 2 seems to be a generic branch made into a staff.
Tumblr media
Continuing with the mural, the elves come from a blue water pool which contains inside the shape of an elven orb.The water is drawn with undulating blue lines that can represent mere water, or lyrium pools [if we want to link this to The Horror of Hormak]. These waters are a product of the Evanuri’s power: from these waters, the elves come out, slaved and branded. Similar undulation can be seen in the vallaslins coming out of their faces, and in the borders of the aravels, giving us some hints to point out to The Horror of Hormak. These undulating lines appear too in the spheres of the Mural of “The Creation of the Veil” that we find in the Shattered Library. The relationship between undulating lines, orbs, and vallaslin seem to be rather consistent, and I trust this interpretation more than others.
Now, something that I will owe, because I have no idea about yet, are those white drawings over the heads of the elves. No clue what those could be.
Tumblr media
For some unknown and unsettling reason, this mural has the face of the The Strange Idol repeated four times, with its mouth stained in (dry, I assume) blood. We have seen this exact circle with his face in Emerald Graves: Din'an Hanin and in Emerald Graves: Din'an Hanin, Elandrin’s Tomb. One of these heads holds the brazier from where you can cast Veilfire.
Does this have any meaning? I’m not sure. We are not sure who this figure represents yet. The furthest we reached was Elgar’nan, thanks to the description in Signs of Victory as I commented in Ancient Elven codices; Vir Dirthara and thanks to the name of the zone [Elgar’nan’s bastion] where we find his statue in the middle of Elandrin’s Tomb. But we don’t know who named this place like that, so we don’t have anything truly reliable to identify this statue. So far, we can only suspect it to represent Elgar’nan, while some Tevinters considered it Dumat. More details about this unsettling figure can be read in The Strange Idol.
Tumblr media
The Inquisitor and their companions make remarks about this mural: we are introduced here to the concept that the Vallaslin was a different kind of mark [this knowledge is only truly known by female inquisitors who romanced Solas]. For more details, check the post about “Murals in DAI”.
Tumblr media
To activate the statue of Fen'Harel, we have to solve a small simple puzzle.  Curious detail, in front of the Sitting Fen'Harel statue we find a Stone in Razikale-Ceremony-style. This combination of elements will be repeated along the Crossroads and the small pocket worlds we visit: The stone that gives us a clue to solve the puzzle of the Sitting Fen'Harel statue is a Stone in Razikale-Ceremony-style. Mere reuse? I'm a bit lost with this stone since it appeared in the Fairel's burials. More about this stone was discussed in Razikale Ceremony and Dumat’s Warrior tablets.
Tumblr media
Once we solve the puzzle, Fen’Harel statue moves, opening the entrance to the basement. We have access to the last mosaic:
Tumblr media
It narrates what we saw in the previous mural: the removal of the vallaslin. For more details, read Ancient Elven codices; Fen’Harel’s mountain ruins.
Tumblr media
As the mosaic disappears, it gives us access to the Hidden Armoury, where we see the arsenal of weapons that the rebels had to fight against the Evanuris.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Armoury, we read a report left by a qunari agent about an elven artefact in the box laying between Fen'Harel's paws. However, if we return to it and inspect it, we realise it is not elven [this shows how little Qunari know about elves and elvhenan craftsmanship]. Here we find Arrowwood which is associated with ... well, many things.
It speaks of a Ciriane tale, an alamarri tribe from which Andraste comes from.
We don't know the race of the main char of the story, we assume is human [but we know that the Alamarri have been mixing with other races without much problem, so they could be a half-dwarf].
He removed his heart to have mastery in the bow. There are two stories related to a creature that removes their heart: Korth, and the story that the elves narrate with the mural of the Titan: “The Death of a Titan”
This char shot the Sun, causing eternal night. This concept links him with Elgar'nan who fought the Sun or pushed it down into the earth depending on which unreliable story you based this on.
The queen of the Ciriane [called gothi] sent a messenger to the Witch of the Wild to stop him.
Depending on the story, the messenger never found the Witch and made a deal with a demon. Or worked for the witch and her daughters for a year. Or found the Lady of the Skies. In all three versions, we can interpret the same: the messenger found Flemeth [since she is an abomination with certain anomalies she qualifies as a demon for many tales. She is a also a witch of the wild, and she has a big potential to be the Lady of The Skies in some shape or form]
In all cases, the messenger received a coil of silk that he used to replace the string of the bow of the Arrowwood.
When Arrowwood tried to use the bow, his heart shattered and he became dust.
The queen took the weapon, encased it in an iron chest, and dropped it in the Nahashin Marshes.
Now, how and why a weapon of Ciriane nature, that has some resemblances with titans, Korth, and Elgar’nan, ended up in an ancient elvhen chest, from a time before the arrival of humans to the world? If it's not an elven weapon, it makes no sense for it to be here. And one can argue that this could be similar to the case of finding the Chapter ??? of Hard in Hightown in the Lower Archives, but I feel that such chapter makes more sense as a way for the devs to tell the players that whoever was left in the Fade, died in peace. It’s closure to a narrative. Now, this doesn’t make sense in that way either. One could assume this is just pure game mechanics and thinking too much about it is wasteful. It’s a good weapon after all.
Hidden Armoury
Tumblr media
The first thing we see when walking downstairs is, besides all the weapons, a curious statue of two birds in a strange amalgamation. So far I'm aware, we never saw similar statue anywhere in the game [I tend to overlook Orlesian stuff, but I feel this statue would have got my attention anyway] .
Tumblr media
It's two birds [maybe ravens due to their beak?] joined by their backs, and struggling to fly. The first idea that came to me when i saw it for the first time was the two ravens of Dirthamen: Deceit and Fear [if we indulge in the unreliable Dalish tales]. But it makes little sense. It's true that Dirthamen is present in this sanctuary more than we have expected, and he is also present in the first tower where we enter [ the Vine-covered Tower]. But what would be the meaning of placing his ravens, fused, in the armoury? This symbol here escapes me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This place is filled with elvhenan weapons and armours [similar to the ones we saw Abelas and his elves wear in the Temple of Mythal].
Tumblr media
We find in addition to more Dalish supply boxes, Hallas statues that we know in game have been used by the Valmont family to create a system of locking doors in the Winter Palace, and three different kinds of rugs:
Tumblr media
One red and black, with geometrical patterns and small "fishes" in it. It's a rug we can find in Skyhold under the basic option [meaning, Skyhold may have had a link to the activities done in here]. On its corners we see two small dogs [?] attacking a simple-horned halla/deer.
There are smaller rugs in the rooms, featuring stars of 12 points. These rugs are the same ones we saw in the Temple of Mythal, placed in front of the Mosaics, giving the idea of being used to kneel and pray.  And a last carpet that, in a first impression, seemed to be Chasind, but it is not. It is an old red carpet which has a border pattern that looks like a half-sunburst [similar to the Chantry symbol indeed].
Tumblr media
In terms of drapery, we find two main options: the typical Dalish drapery, with the "mask" that in DAO represented Mythal, with a pattern of spherical trees on the background.  And the second drapery that caught my attention was a series of ragged, discoloured flags hanging along the entrances of the armoury. It had a very curious symbol on it that I retraced. I've never seen this design. It looks a bit [with a lot of will] like "tentacles", which is not a big thing in DA series anymore, since in DAO the option of making the Old Gods as strange Eldritch creatures was removed due to the limitations of the engine or to add dragons instead.
This symbol, however, appears in another place: in Skyhold, when you pick the basic decoration. Once more, it seems that Skyhold and this hidden armoury may have had some link in the past. Who knows if some of the broken eluvians in this place may have been related to Skyhold long ago. We also know that Skyhold was used by elves long time ago, and suffered strange damage, specially in the section of the jail, that the game leaves it free of any explanation [Prison Structural Evaluation]. At the end of Trespasser we know that Skyhold was Solas’ fortress at some point, so the link with this armoury is not that strange anymore.
Tumblr media
The eluvian to gets us out from this Armoury is flanked by two archer.
Extra Details
Along the exploration of these ruins, we find details worth mentioning.
The purple fire
Tumblr media
In some parts there is a purple fire that, no matter what you do, it kills you. The only way to cross it is through powers that provide you invulnerability for a while, one of them is the use of discharge of the Anchor. What this means lore-wise?
Tumblr media
This fire is visually the same kind of fire that the Archdemon from DAO breathed and it’s now Solas’ current power. I fear so much to connect excessively things that are unrelated, but on the other side, DAI in particular has proven to be such a detailed game, that something of the like, so visual, has a good chance to be intentional. I’m not going to say that Solas is an archdemon, because we still don’t know what truly is an Old God [the non-corrupted version of an archdemon]. We only know that Urthemiel was worthy to be protected according to Mythal’s actions, so the relationship of these powerful elvhen mages with these old dragons is not clear yet but the relationship seems to exist.
The design in general
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like the design of the Elvhen banner and how it relates to Dalish and Tevinter design. That the Dalish banner is a more elaborated version of the Elvhen banner is not a surprise to anyone. It’s the same object with some extra “orlesian-like” ornamentation that can be justified for the years of coexistence between the Ancient Dalish and the Orlesians in the Dales, before the Exalted March.
However, I think it’s worth noting how Tevinter design is, yet again, based on Elvhen design, specially the one related to arcane. Tevinter banner has a shape on its top that resembles an oversimplified raising dragon [like the symbol of Emerius, ancient Kirkwall] but it also can be seen as a thicker and compressed version of the top of the Elvhen banner. Both of them inspired, at the same time, by the shape of a dragon or an owl extending its wings.
This comment is not meant to relate crazy lore stuff, but it is basically to highlight how the design of these objects is also related to the History they represents, and who co-opted what. Dragon Age Inquisition is such a detailed game in terms of design that, for that reason, I’m doing this extensive comparison and studies of the statues and art we see in it. It’s not mere whim, they truly worked a lot on this stuff. The director art and the artists who worked on this game, REALLY thought a lot how real life civilisations base their design, culture, and religion on previous ones, modifying them or mixing them with others, to the point that it’s hard to identify the original inspiration. And I’m truly convinced that DA series is a lot about the exploration of this concept in many levels and cultures.

Game of Thrones - 66 BRAN VII (pages 705-715)
Bran and Rickon dream their father is dead. Maester Luwin plays catch up after dropping some World Lore.
-
"They don't fight very well," Bran said Dubiously. ... "For a certainty," Maester Luwin agreed with a deep sigh. (...) "Yet given time... Ser Rodrik has the truth of it, we need men to walk the walls. Your lord father took the cream of his guard to King's Landing, and your brother took the rest, along with all the likely lads for leagues around. Many will not come back to us, and we must needs find the men to take their place."
I like that GRRM addresses the consequences of these things, often in a fantasy series, it feels like there's just always more able bodied men ready to go, or there's a borrowed-from-a-friend-down-the-road army waiting in the wings.
"I dreamed about the crow again last night. The one with three eyes. He flew into my bedchamber and told me to come with him, so I did. We went down into the crypts. Father was there, and we talked. He was sad." "And why was that?" Luwin peered through his tube. "It was something to do about Jon, I think." The dream had been deeply disturbing, more so than any of the other crow dreams.
"Hi dad, what are you doing down here? You seem bummed, what's up?" "UwU I died and now I'll never be able to tell Jon that he's actually my nephew." "Bummer." "It's my only piece of unfinished business, I have no other children to be sad about." "Wait, what?" "Goodbye forever."
"- Your father is a prisoner of the queen in King's Landing. You will not find him in the crypts."
Oh no, Luwin doesn't know about the last chapter.
Bran could not remember the last time he had been down in the crypts. It had been before, for certain. When he was little, he used to play down here with Robb and Jon and his sisters.
Huh, he says that like they managed to get Sansa to go back down after Jon scared the heck out of her that one time in Arya's memory.
"Have a look at these," he said as he pulled the stopper and shook out a handful of shiny black arrowheads. Bran picked one up. "It's made of glass." Curious, Rickon drifted closer to peer over the table. "Dragonglass," Osha named it as she sat down beside Luwin, bandagings in hand. "Obsidian," Maester Luwin insisted, holding out his wounded arm. "Forged in the fires of the gods, far below the earth. The children of the forest hunted with that, thousands of years ago. The children worked no metal. (...) In place of swords, they carried blades of obsidian." "They still do."
Obsidian/Dragonglass = 🥛
I'm interested to hear 'forged in the fires of the gods, far below the earth' just from an elemental standpoint, knowing that it is one of the weaknesses of the Others. 'of the gods' to me, assigns obsidian not only a fire/earth combo, but also a divine aspect/attribute. It's probably just so much flavour text, but you know, interesting flavour text in context.
"- How long the children reigned here or where they came from, no man can know. "But some twelve thousand years ago, the First Men appeared from the east, crossing the Broken Arm of Dorne before it was broken. (...) The wars went on until the earth ran red with blood of men and children both, but more children then men, for men were bigger and stronger, and wood and stone and obsidian make a poor match for bronze. Finally, the wise of both races prevailed, and the chiefs and heroes of the First Men met the greenseers and wood dancers amidst the weirwood groves of a small island in the great lake called Gods Eye. "There they forged the Pact. (...) The Pact began four thousand years of friendship between men and children."
A good method to expo dump if you're gonna do it. Ooph but it gives me the shivers. All that history, and there's still more and further back. Ignorance and self defense, culture clash that tumbled straight into aggression and then... peace that couldn't last against new players.
Man, I sure hope that's not foreshadowing for anything. Two sides in conflict finally finding a stable truce, and then being pounded by a surprise third party who devastates at least one side in the pre-existing peace treaty. That sure would suck.

Pics:
1. WW1 has several nicknames but, none so foolish as this...
Among the other nicknames are:
A. "The Chemist's War" (due to the poisonous gasses used).
B. "The Forgotten War" (much time has passed - were coning up on the century mark).
C. "The Great War" (there's nothing great about any war).
D. "World War 1" (not known as this until the 2nd World War started).
2. Valkyries on the way to a battle - where they'll decide who died a 'worthy' enough death that they deserve the honor of helping Odin during Ragnarok.
3. Leftover picture from an earlier post.
"Recipes from the Mythos lore of HP Lovecraft" - exactly what's needed to not feel when you're being eaten alive!
With 'fun' drinks like: the "King in Jell-O," "Pink FlaMi-Go," "Sunken Island Iced Tea," "Root Beer of All Evil," "Bloodbath & Beyond," etc...
75 recipes in all, so drink responsively.
4. There's 13 types of dragons in all.
But, though the Lindworm was originally wingless & limbless, you'll note that the modern version has 2 clawed arms & bat-like wings...
Blame it on 'evolution.'
5. The largest extent of the Danelaw in Anglo-Saxon England.
This was land invaded by the Great Heathen Army in 865 AD.
It lasted until 1002 AD, when Saxon King Aethelred the Unready ordered the Saint Brice's Day Massacre!!
This brutal murder of prominent Danes led to vicious war crimes - like the burning of churches & the killing of women & children...
These events would, ultimately, lead to the successful Norman invasion of England.
6. Illustration of the basic myth of the Lindworm.
The heroine is helping Prince Worm to shed 1 of its many skins...
Then, it'll be her turn.
See below.
7. Nordic 'Amazons'?
Not quite.
Female warriors have always been fewer than their male counterparts.
But, the idea of Nordic shield maidens has been known for ages.
Yet, few modern archaeologists truly believed in such tales.
Well, now there's proof that they did exist.
Now, I'm waiting for them to find the burial site of that badass, Lagertha.
She was so fierce in battle, that even her enemies were amazed of her fighting prowess!
1914: Output.
Intro: Ragnar's¹ earlier poem (also from 1914) connects thematically to "The Teuton's² Battle-Song." Both works speak about the 'glories' of war.
In "Teuton's Battle-Song," HPL sees Christianity as a foreign influence that's too weak to follow during war.
Howard tells English-Americans to remember their now muted warrior prowess - a gift from their ancestral roots.
Because it's a special quality that will be useful in the growing War to End All Wars...
Opening Quote: Since I've already posted on "Death-Song" earlier (up- dating needed meanings), I thought readers might be interested in reading some of Lovecraft's more primal version.
The quote HPL used is from the end of "Ragnar's Death- Song."
"We hewed with the brand!! My life is well-nigh over."
"Sharp is the pang, That serpents give. Goinn, the Snake,³ Nests deep in my heart."
"No more will my children rest; Great wrath will be theirs⁴, At the undoing of their sire."
"We hewed with the brand!! Full gladly do I go!"
"With the Valkyrjar,⁵ Fresh from Odin's hall!"
"High seated among heroes, Shall I quaff the yellow mead.⁶ The Aesir welcome me."
"Laughing gladly do I die."
Notes:
1. This is Lovecraft's translation of a Latin version from the Nordic original "Ragnarr Lothbrok's Death-Song."
2. Teutons were folk hailing from ancient Jutland (now Denmark).
They migrated south to Gaul (France) - attacking the Roman Republic in 105 BC. But, were defeated in 101 BC.
Martyrdom: The Roman terms of surrender were that 300 married Teutonic women would become sex slaves!
These matrons begged to minister the temples of Ceres & Venus instead.
But, their request was denied.
So, these women killed their children & strangled each other!!
This is now known as "Teutonic Fury."
3. I firmly believe that "Goinn, the Snake, is the name of the Lindworm⁷ that Ragnar slew to earn his name - &, the hand of his bride!!
But, I've yet to find any info on this dragon...
4. A father's wrathful kids - no kidding!!
Ragnar's sons were among the Danish war bands which attacked England.
They conquered a large portion of the eastern & northern countryside.
Which became known as the Danelaw.
5. Valkyrjar seems to be a misspelling of Valkyrjur, the modern "Valkyrie."
6. Yellow or golden mead describes a honey based Nordic wine.
In myth, when honey was mixed with Kvasir's blood, it was called the Mead of Poetry.
The reddish linden berry was crushed & the resulting liquid was mixed with fermented honey to celebrate the above 'event.'
This magical drink was supposed to convey Kvasir's knowledge & wisdom upon the drinker!
Okay...
7. The Lindworm is a folktale that spread from India to Scandinavia!
Indians have been trading with Europeans since, at least Alexander the Great's time.
Earlier, Indians traded with Sumeria in the Middle East.
The basic story plot is of a cursed queen who gives birth to a prince - in snake form!
He's married off to a smart gal. One who breaks his curse - by stripping!!
For every piece of clothing that she takes off, he sheds 1 of his snake skins completely...
After 7 such sheddings, the curse is finally broken!
(Sounds like the Arabian Dance of the 7 Veils!!)
Lind might mean "soft & flexible."
And worm is Norse for "a wingless, limbless man-eating dragon!"
Next: Part 2 - The Work.

((Nightly RP - Charlie’s New Orleans Bunker Story))
Sam
Closing the Daimon file before me, I reach over and choose another from Charlie’s stack. You know, what we could use most right now is that more information that we’ve been promised from Jacques.
Ruby
Where is he anyway?
Dean
How can you be ready to believe anything that guy says? He just went off and left us there to die with all those Diamon.
Ruby
Grabbing a file and opening it, I tell Dean Hey, if he escaped Hell, wouldn't he be a better ally than an enemy.
Dean
I still dont have to trust him till she shows me more that we can. Allies kinda stay around for the battle not run off
Sam
Look, I know that we still have a lot of questions about this guy and even some valid concerns about him leaving us to battle against all those Daimon alone…but I think we need to know more before we can decide if he’s friend or foe. He’s our one contact so far in this mess. Well, except for the Bunker Gnome, Monsieur Leveau.
Ruby
Other than being a little creepy, I'm willing to give him a chance.
Jo
Dean I’m sure you can help though I mean you saved me before
Alex
Came out my room and walk over to team guys check this out Appollites we’re made by Apollo
Dean
I always help dont I? I’m just saying I am not ready to trust Jacques yet he hasn’t proven enough to me running and hiding like a little bitch. I'm with Sammy. Just going on record here, I’m not a big fan of any of this. Seems like we’re knee-deep in shit that isn’t even ours
Jo
Yeah I get want you mean
Sam
You’re right Alex, about Apollo creating them. Appollites would be the logical beginning place to start digging.
Dean
frustrated about it I’m still not down with this but that does makes sense and would be the best place to start if we seriously have to do this shit
Ruby
I begin to gather up the files that are spread all over the table. Trying to put them into some kind of order, I stack them and leave them on the table
Jo
So where do we start
Sam
I don't think there is a way we can just close our eyes to all of this. This is BIG Dean
BelleRose
goes to pack a bag
Gabe
Cass appearing with Jody
Cass
What in the world did Dean do to the bunker now?
Sam
Hey Cass, Jody… what are you guys doing down here?
Jody
Taking in the new bunker Whoa, what’s going?
Cass
Wanted to check in on you guys got a feeling from Italy
Dean
We find Apollo and figure out the rest
Alex
Smiles
Sam
Holds up the file Alex brought out Well your feeling might be spot on Cass... got a problem here.
Cass
Apollo, the god, yep you guys don’t need us
Sam
Okay... Takes a deep breath and start to recite the facts According to myth Apollites were create by Apollo and a Nymph in order to prove to the God Zeus that Humans could be improved on. The Daimon in lore are referred to as dark angels. Christianity actually describes them as a supernatural beings with a malevolent spirit and they suck the souls of the living.... Wait? Why don't you think we don't need you?
Alex
look over Cass
Cass
shaking my by head
Sam
Artemis on Mount Olympus is offering people who die in a brutal way, or from betrayal... the opportunity to forego a ‘true death’ and be resurrected as a something called a Dark Hunter. She’s taking their souls and making her own army. Cass, there’s a battle of good and evil going on that we haven’t heard of before… what do you know about it?
BelleRose
comes out with a packed bag and a cooler to grab some blood bags do we have any ice packs in the fridge?
Cass
That was sarcasm Sam ….. these minor gifs thinking they can improve on my father’s work looking at dean well…….
Dean
And if one of these Dark Hunters manages to kill a Daimon, then any the souls that monster has taken recently are freed, so there’s that bonus, I guess.
Cass
looks around for the new ones butlers Jody we should have stayed on the beach
Jody
Yes we should have Feathers. The turquoise water is calling me
Cass
If things get bad we’re looking at apocalypse light without the archangels in vessels part
Sam
Smiles sadly at Jody. She was so right
Cass
Shall we?
Jody
Yes please!!! Throwing my arms around you and kissing you
Cass
eyes going up kissing you back  you guys got this right ?
BelleRose
grabs a few bags of blood and a few ice packs
Dean
Cass FOCUS... you're talking apocalypse again here!
Cass
Apocalypse light these are minor gods Dean, Lucifer killed them like humans
Sam
Okay... look...Apocalypse Light is still going to result in the deaths of millions of people. We can't just sit by and watch, now that we know about it
Cass
I think we can help it’s the team and that new girl
Sam
I think we need to find more of these Dark Hunters. Won’t be easy though. According to these files, and I've read them all... they each work alone and have a territory to watch over. Drops Alex's folder back on the table Oh and get this Fun Fact, if they are in close proximity to each other for a long period of time they drain each other’s powers. And if one causes harm to the other the one doing the harm will feel the same hurt tenfold.
Ruby
That knowledge might come in handy
Jo
I agree with Ruby
Sam
Knew Ruby would see the possibilities in that
Cass
Well that might be the easy part honestly
Ruby
Is there any kind of cage or trap we could keep them in?
Dean
Come on Cass. We've got squat here. Don't you have any ideas we can act on?
Cass
Let me reach out to Gabe we may need his help using angel radio to reach out to Gabe
Gabe
Get over here little Charlie going after the speedy crawler who took mommy angels phone and somehow got on the dark web it’s bed time . You are so like your auntie Charlie
Little C

Cass

Donna

Gabe

Cass
I don’t think so but there is a vampire here
Gabe

Little C

Donna

Gabe
taking you in my arms kissing you deeply abracadabra we vanish
we appear in the bunker So what’s the situation I’ve been wanting to go after these guys and gals for awhile
Sam
I’m very happy when Gabe and Donna show up at the new Bunker Hi guys, thanks for coming down here at Cass’s call.
Ruby
Based on what Sam has said we need to go to the original source of the Daimons to stop them.
Donna
heart being fast in the whirl wind of bedtime! what the heck is going on?
Gabe
We’d have come if you’d reached out too Sam, any of you, you’re family
Alex
Ahhh Jump oh hey Gabe and Donna
Donna
Lol! Hi Bear Bear!
Cass
Do we have a plan?
Gabe
Hey Bear Bear how are the cubs?
BelleRose
walks up hey Gabe
Dean
Hey Gabe, hey Donna thanks for coming!
Alex
They are good and cute and adorable as always
Gabe
Hi ya Rosie, how’s tricks? Hey Deano. What’s going on?
BelleRose
Fine. How are the littles?
Gabe
Just like their mommy. Perfect like their mommy though little Charlie is starting to act like her aunt
Dean
Well we've apparently come across a new species we've never dealt with before. Daimons.... I thought we had fought everything and was wrong
BelleRose
I'm sure. Little sassy pants huh?
Sam
It looks like we might be coming up against people way more powerful than we are. Fighting with Gods is something you should never do lightly… might not walk away from often, either. I’m guessing.
Donna
eyes get huge! there’s more!
Gabe
Oh Dean there’s always things you haven’t seen . Different worlds, dimensions, planes, it’s endless
Alex
Smiles aww thanks you Gabe
Gabe
That and tech savvy
Donna
Gods???
BelleRose
I'm sure she could give her aunt a run for her money.
Gabe
Yes? That’s what I’m afraid of
Cass
Can we focus?
Alex
Appllites
Gabe
Fruit?
Ruby
We are going to need to find and go to the original source of the daimons to stop them, at least that’s what Sam has found.
Sam
Apollo & Artemis namely
Gabe
APOLLO?!?!? It’s been ages!!!
Cass
I’m with Sam
Donna
smiling big and slips my hand into yours!
Gabe
taking your hand in mine winking at you
Donna
Wait? Artemis?????
Sam
Cass might be better to fill you in on all this, but we’ve got some Greek God taking souls and making herself an army. Ever heard of Diamon or something called a Dark Hunter?
Gabe
What source do we have?
BelleRose
It's a good one trust me
Sam
On of those Dark Hunters saved Jo the other night. We went and spoke with him, name's Jacques
Dean
We have a guy name Jacques who I’m not really all that trusting of at the moment and then there’s a short little French dude that is the Mrs Butters of this bunker
Donna
No! my hand tightens in my loves hand! Artemis. He’s hiding or gone at the moment
Gabe
You know most the time your judgement is spotty but when it comes to these things I trust you
it’s ok darlin we’ll stop them
Ruby
He's a strange little man, but seems to know a lot
Dean
Jacques left us in the middle of a battle with these Daimon things that almost cost us Sammy and henry
Gabe
What about Cass?
Ruby
He can be strange too
Gabe
Yeah not trust worthy
Cass
Ya know I can leave
Dean
Well they all want to trust Jacques
Ruby
Actually I think Jacques is our best bet for getting the information we need
Donna
I’m going to kill that evil bitch!
Gabe
Calm down Sherah you’re not exactly in power Ranger mode right now
Donna
Appllites??? And how do we find this Jacques guy? big sigh I’ll find another way to kill her!!! That… grrrrr
Jo
We’ve find where he lives, we’ve also hunted alongside him twice
Sam
Created by Apollo as a kind of payback to Zeus I think... or to mess with his twin
Cass
Dean why are we not hunting him. Instead of hunting with him. If he would leave our team to die he’s no better than the other monsters we kill
Alex
Yeah
Donna
Wait…. Back tracking and thinking…. You’ve hunted with him?
Sam
Alex has the right idea. This Jacques is the only tangible link that we’ve got to any of this, again with the exception of Monsieur Leveau, but we’ve reached the limit of his knowledge, I think.
Donna
Wellllll, I’m liking Apollo now more!
Dean
He knows things about these species that we dont
Sam
The guy’s got information that we need, and he can’t die because of what he is.
Donna
Wow!
Sam
I know Looks at all the folders of information on the table. And we've had no idea of any of this
Gabe
Oh I’ve known Apollo a long time we hung out way back
BelleRose
You know every god and goddess out there I'm guessing
Donna
my hand in yours I look to you and rest my head on your shoulder
Gabe
Well I have been around since the beginning of creation
BelleRose
Whole new meaning to the phrase "older then dirt"
Dean
Jacques also mentioned wanting to be free of Artemis
Gabe
Here’s the thing though most the time the pantheons stay away from each other
Jody SPN
Ok! I think we need to intervene then
Cass
I thought you’d become a mime
Jody
Giggles Just taking in the conversation Feathers
Cass
Two words…..sounds like …..
Donna
Liking him more! Lol
Jody
Feathers!! Playful slap your arm and laugh
Dean
I grab my duffle filling it with supplies since we cant ever be too careful and get ready to go
Donna
Agreed!
Cass
I’m very pop savvy now
Sam
grabbing my small duffel, I make sure that I have a fresh notebook and well as weapons I might need
Gabe
You know you might be right but o look good for my age, that didn’t happen for you at ANY age
Donna
Mmmmmm so good! I lean kissing your neck
BelleRose
mutters bag, blood cooler weapons clothes. glares not funny
Gabe
trembling feeling your lips on my neck  nothing compare to you darlin
Jo
grabs my bag making sure everything is good to go
BelleRose
watches thinking
Gabe
I’m not the one checking out alpaca balls either
Donna
soft giggle!
Dean
Anyway there’s a history with these dark hunters they supposedly have been trying to protect their respective areas from all supernatural things and have been fighting against these Daimons for a while and Artemis and Apollo have been feuding for quite some time now
BelleRose
That was a one time thing
Donna
I double check feeling my Glock, and archangel blade on my body! ready! All these new names are confusing me! Lol. I’ll get it eventually
Ruby
Grabbing my satchel, I wait for the others
Jody
Checking my bag for my gun and ammo
Gabe
It should be a NONE time thing unless you’re a female alpaca or a werealpaca
Dean
Oh there’s other were things too like bigger than our bear and much stronger and meaner
Sam
Is everyone ready to head out?
Jody
Ready Sammy! Ready
Ruby
While waiting, I consider if I need any more supplies. Wait...there's Sam
Donna
You betcha!
BelleRose
I'm ready. puts the blood away
Sam
Gabe, are you taking us all there or do we need to split up?
Ruby
I can take groups over
Dean
Why not drive? It wasn’t that far
Ruby
Fire her up Dean
Dean
Just saying
Gabe
You got it
BelleRose
We can't all fit in the impala
Gabe
Grab on guys and gals BelleRose watch your hands
Sam
Sounds good Puts my hand on Ruby's should, eager to get there Anyone coming with?
Dean
Men! Cover your balls!
Donna
Sure we can!!!! beams! 😁
BelleRose
puts my hand on Sam's shoulder
Gabe
And alpacas!
Dean
I won’t argue...places hand on your shoulder
Ruby
I grab Sam around the waist
Dean
That’s not his shoulder! He’s too tall for you to reach!
Gabe

Donna
soft smile! following you my hand ready to pull my gun out! Or archangel blade!
……………………………………………….
1. Sam, ruby and dean are sitting at the table and talking about Jacques and his promise for more information. Dean still isn’t entirely sure about him since he left them in battle, jo has some confidence in him since he saved her once before. Sam says they don’t know enough to form an opinion yet, and Ruby figures if he escaped the clutches of hell he is a better ally than an enemy.  Alex comes out of her room, she has the appollites file and has been reading through it.  She points out that the appollites were made by Apollo- and since they were what made the daimons maybe they should start there.
2. Sam remarks on what a great idea that is. Dean is still grumpy but admits that it makes sense. Jo asks where to start, and rose begins to pack a bag. Ruby gathers the file contents and then Cass and Jody appear at the bunker, both asking about the new bunker, Sam and Dean start to tell Cass about Charlie’s discoveries. Cass says no other gods were supposed to create life, and is curious about how this got past chuck.  The team discusses next steps and cass says he is going to reach out to Gabe and Donna through angel radio.
3. Gabe and Donna are at home with the littlest angels and getting them ready for bed, Gabe hears Cass and responds to him. Within a few minutes the angels are ready to head to the N.O bunker, once they arrive everyone greets them and Donna asks why they are needed. Sam explains that they may be running into someone that they’ll need assistance with. Dean continues and shares the news of the new species they’ve encountered as well as about Jacques. Ruby states that the team has concluded, they needed to go to the original source of the Daimons to stop them. Gabe asks what the source was and Alex says Appollites. Still confused Donna asks what an Appollite is and where do they find one. Rose says that they’ve got one source they need to get more information from. Gabe nods and Alex continues with and possibly an. Idea (to go see Jacques again)
4. Sam and Ruby agree to that idea, and Donna asks where to find him. Jo shares that they’ve already found his home and have hunted alongside him twice already. Donna looks surprised at that, and Sam continues on with the fact that he can’t die. Cass asks why we are hunting with him and not hunting him because he sounds like all of the other monsters he’s ever dealt with. Dean shares the legend of the dark hunters and how the twins (Apollo and Artemis) have been in a feud for centuries about it. Gabe comments about how the different pantheons essentially stay out of each other’s way. Jody says maybe it’s time to intervene.
5. They all gather some gear, and Sam a notebook and they head over to see Jacques.  They get to the gates and dean presses the intercom, without an answer the gates swing open and the group head inside and walk down the long driveway towards the little cottage. Jody and Donna are asking for more information on who this Jacques guy is and Ruby is explaining the best she can and then the door opens into the dark little house. Jody looks at jo a bit confused, and jo comments that this is how it was last time.  Gabe says he is going to take the lead, and they walk inside.

I wanna talk a bit more about my marines and the chaos marines I’m now working on after I got hit with a couple fun ideas while waiting on replacement printer parts.
For background, my space marine chapter, The Hounds of Terra, are something I came up with to spice up how Primaris marines work in the lore, and give me a chance to make badass ladies in space.
Intro
When Abaddon destroyed Cadia and the great rift split the galaxy in twain, one of the many hidden caches of Cawl’s primaris marines came under siege by the forces of chaos, and the attending techpriests were forced to activate the marines they had in stasis.
The siege went on for decades, with the attrition wearing on the loyalists. Specifically, the traitors quickly adopted tactics that made it more and more difficult for the apothecaries to recover the geneseed of fallen primaris marines. As the number of astartes shrunk, the tech priests took desperate action, pulling a batch of flawed geneseed from stasis. This geneseed was previously abandoned due to its mutations, but was preserved due to an interesting characteristic: it would only take hold and develop in female aspirants. In need of the aid, the tech priests began creating astartes with this geneseed and youths from civilian population. These new marines were effective, but looked upon with disdain by the other marines present, who referred to them as dogs, or hounds. They were given the most dangerous assignments and little support holding the line, but they found success, often out of spite, but more often because they new the fear the civilians they protected had to endure.
By the time relief finally arrived and broke the siege, the only marines left standing were these women. When the acting leader, Resia Avidon, went to meet with the envoys of the Indomitus Crusade with full intent of hiding her and her sisters’ oddities. The attending tech priests, eager to see how this project of theirs would develop, agreed to aid in the ruse.
The result was the Crusade designating the beleaguered marines as a full ultima founding chapter, gifting them a Battle Barge, Beneficia in Terra, and granting them time to gather their forces before joining in the war to beat back chaos in service of the Imperium. The chapter chose the name The Hounds of Terra, firmly declaring their loyalty and turning the insult hurled at them into a badge of honor.
Silver Cog
This was only a stopgap measure though, as despite their official induction as a chapter, they had no acceptable geneseed they could send to the vaults on Mars. This issue was solved when The Hounds of Terra had a chance encounter with a drifting strike cruiser. On board, they found the remnants of a chapter known as the Silver Cog, a firstborn chapter that had been reported missing two millennia ago. Their leader, Captain Valos Tetys, shared a tale in which their chapter had been lured into a trap, allies turning on them, only his strike cruiser escaping, their navigator sending them on a blind jump through the warp. Tetys feared that the hidden traitors within the imperium might still seek his chapter’s destruction, and wished to hide their true identity. Sensing he was a fair and reasonable man in a tough spot, Chapter Founder Avidon proposed an idea to Tetys: to integrate their chapters under the banner of The Hounds of Terra, the Silver Cog gaining the fresh start they desired, and The Hounds of Terra gaining a source of geneseed that would pass muster on Mars.
(Irl, this is my reason for lady primaris marines coexisting with my love of HH relic units. It is convoluted as fuck, but I kinda cobbled all of this together over time, and I like it. All the convolution gives me a couple different angles to work with when it comes to justifying matches against other Imperial armies.)
Potassiar
It was in the following decades when The Hounds of Terra established their working relationship with other imperial elements in the sector, and their reputation as steadfast hoarders. The chapter adopted a policy of gathering up any arms, armor, or relics they found, and if they were unable to reach the original owners, simply incorporating it into their own stores. In particular, this practice is how they have built up their terminator units, of which the chapter has four full squads. This practice also extends to spacecraft, with the ships of the Hounds of Terra often returning from naval engagements and long range patrols towing the hulls of lost and damaged naval ships. In return for the many hulks they have kept in circulation over the years, they have been gifted a handful of additional strike cruisers, and several escort vessels, which in turn, aid in the return of more lost hulls.
Of special note is the relationship The Hounds of Terra built with the minor forgeworld of Potassiar. This was the nearest base of the Adeptus Mechanicus to the cache-world The Hounds of Terra were birthed upon, and many of the surviving tech priests transferred to Potassiar after the chapter’s founding. The presence of respectable orbital facilities and these familiar faces within the priesthood led to Potassiar being a frequent resupply point for The Hounds of Terra as they warred against the great enemy. It was here that they dropped off many naval hulls and any arms and armor they recovered, yet could not return or fit into their own armory. The greatest collaboration came when a space hulk of respectable size materialized within the outer reaches of the Potassiar system. The tech priests immediately sent word, and captain Tetys himself led the full force of the chapter’s terminators to claer the hulk ahead of the mechanicus’ work prying loose ancient hulls. This aid was lent for the favor of the mechanicus in constructing a proper flagship for The Hounds of Terra, with a suitable hull being selected from the hulk by Captain Tetys.
At the hip’s completion, it was slightly larger than a standard battle barge, but only truly differing in the addition of expansive manufacturing and repair facilities, as well as a set of main engines salvaged from a battleship. Chapter Founder Avidon and her honor guard were brought to the dockyards for the final blessings, and named the ship Avidon’s Might. It was at this moment that the chapter was betrayed.
The skitari forces of the Potassiar tech priests ambushed the chapter founder, alongside a force of nurgle-blessed heretic astartes. Between a small force of loyal mechanicus elements, the chapter founder’s honor guard, and the terminator forces of the first company, The Hounds of Terra were able to hold off the traitors until the Beneficia in Terra was able to arrive and escort Avidon’s Might out of the system. Unfortunately, the traitors succeeded in assassinating the Chapter Founder, sending shock waves throughout the chapter.
Promotions
After the death of Resia Avidon, Captain of the third company, Olympia Vilaris, was elected by the gathered captains of the chapter to bear the mantle of chapter master. This led to Sergeant Vylane Zaporozia getting promoted to captain of the third company in recognition for her actions in the recovery of Avidon’s Might.
Aaaand that’s almost all the main skeleton of my Space Marine lore. There’s details from the various campaigns I’ve played them through, and still a bit more until where they’re currently sitting, but this is already getting way too long for one post. Feel free to send in asks if you’ve got questions on my giant space ladies!

Xiao: First Kiss HCs
When you and Xiao first got together. It was a slow and steady process of learning each other boundaries and what felt comfortable. Xiao knew he was a difficult partner but you loved him and even becoming his friend was a slow and worthwhile adventure. It started off small leading from small handholding, to cuddling, to showing each other affection. But the one area that you both weren’t familiar in was kisses. He was an isolated adepti and you were an adventurer. You didn’t have any experience in being kissed and Xiao sure as hell didn’t either. Plus it was a lot more intimate and nerve wracking compared to holding hands and that was an hard hill to tackle in itself.
You didn’t mind that he wasn’t comfortable with initiating affection or never went in or talked about kisses. You were just happy that he was by your side and that your love was reciprocated. That he was comfortable in your presence and seemed content in your arms. It still made you a bit giddy when you reflected on how far you both came and that was enough for you. Xiao, on the other hand, couldn’t exactly say the same. While he was happy and he was content, he couldn’t help but feel that maybe your relationship was too one-sided? He knew that you were comfortable and okay with waiting for him to work out his issues and figuring out how to love again but he also really wanted to do more. He just wasn’t sure how to start.
It suddenly dawned on him one day when he saw you off on your next journey, that he had never really kissed you. Even a small goodbye kiss. It was usually you initiating affection or giving words of love and you always told him that it didn’t matter if he said it or not. His actions said more which always made him flush a bit. But on slow and quiet days where you were off on another adventure and Liyue was calm, he couldn’t help but let his mind wander to you. To your face, your bright eyes that would light up whenever you talked about the interesting sights you saw on your journey, the curve of your nose whenever he tapped it when you started to ramble on to much, your lips and how they would spread into a soft smile when it was just the two of you.
Xiao quickly flipped himself up into a sitting position and groaned into his hands. What was happening to him? He needed to take a walk to clear his mind again. He’s been going out a lot since he met you. He had faced an army of demons and fought in a war and yet this felt like the hardest challenge of his entire thousand year long life. He could almost hear Guizhong’s laughter at his predicament and her words of wisdom saying to take whatever problem he had and face it head on. Just without his spear. The spear needs to stay home.
So the next time you visited Wangshu Inn he asked for you to close your eyes. You complied but you were surprised, sitting by the railing facing Liyue up on the balcony. Was he going to gift you something? This was the first time he asked you to close your eyes but you trusted him. You could almost feel the anxiety waving off Xiao so you kept quiet and patient and waited for him to be ready.
He was ready. He could do this. You weren’t even looking at him so what was there to be worried about? He slowly leaned in, just hovering above your lips. But then he leaned back a bit, flushing red. He nearly chewed his lip before stopping since you probably didn’t want to taste blood. It wasn’t that he wasn’t ready or he thought that you would hate it, he was just nervous in messing up. What if his accidently transformed? What if he accidently pushed you off the railing? Even worse, what if someone showed up and saw you both like this?
Turns out he didn’t need to worry. Somewhat. Zhongli, who Xiao knew now was actually Rex Lapis in disguise, made a sudden appearance behind him. The whiplash of suddenly seeing his Master, the nervous butterfly’s fluttering in his stomach, and pep talk Xiao was trying to pound into his mind made him suddenly lurch forward and kiss you deeply. A bit too deeply as his little fangs nipped at your bottom lip.
“Zhongli!?”
“Rex Lapis?!”
You both quickly broke apart as your eyes flew open when you heard the man but also surprise at the sudden but, not completely unpleasant, pain and pressure on your lips. You could almost see the soul leave Xiao’s body when he spun around to see the surprised Zhongli. It was silent for a moment, all three of you just staring at each other. You were still processing what the hell just happened, Xiao was trying to find a way to astral project, and Zhongli was computing the fact that yes, the ever grumpy and “don’t touch me” yaksha both had a lover and was in the middle of...courting.
“Oh. My apologies. I wasn’t aware you were both occupied. I shall take my leave and visit another day then.” Zhongli simply nodded and left before you or Xiao could say anything. You both stared at the empty figure of where Zhongli was before you started to burst into laughter at the situation. You really felt bad, you did honestly, but with all the overwhelming emotions you couldn’t help but laugh.
“I’m...sorry. I didn’t know he was going to visit today,” Xiao muttered as he pressed his hand into his face and groaned at the embarrassing moment. You could see the tips of his ears were getting redder by the second which made you chuckle. For such a fearsome Yaksha he was really cute sometimes.
“It’s okay Xiao. I don’t mind. But are you alright?” you stifled the last of your giggles and reached out to pull him closer and remove his hand from his red face before cupping his cheek. He huffed but leaned into your hand. He really was sometimes like a cat.
“Are you hurt? Was I...too forward?” Xiao asked but he still wouldn’t look you in the eye. The floor was very interesting this afternoon. Wood was nice. Wood was good.
“No! It was...nice,” you answered, starting to go a bit pink yourself now before you felt a stinging pain in the corner of your lip, “Ah. I think you might accidently bit my lip though.”
“I see,” Xiao was now looking at you with his piercing eyes as he watched your small pink tongue brush over the corner of your bottom lip. His attention began to focus on that small part as the world seem to narrow down. Just the two of you. But unlike when you both would lie on top of the inn and watch the sun go down he felt hungry.
“Do you-”
Before you could ask anything Xiao suddenly pounced and pressed his lips against yours in a heated kiss. He took you by surprise but you quickly recovered as you gripped the purple ribbon on his back and yanked him forward as his hands slammed against the railing, trapping you. You felt his tongue press against your lips as you slowly opened them to let him in. It was overwhelming and you were sure if you hadn’t been grabbing onto the purple ribbon you would have fell over but then a sudden deep rumble snapped you out of your trance.
“Xiao? Are you...Are you purring?” you giggled when you got a tiny but of separation from the lack of air but he frowned at you, really it looked more like a pout, before leaning over once again.  Just barely brushing over your lips as he whispered
“Meow”

This isn’t even OOC anymore. I feel like I’m writing a fucking k-drama right now, what am I doing anymore? English? Huh? I do not compute.
I’ve just awakened something in me with Cat! Xiao and I am flying with it (and casually ignoring lore. Isn’t he a bird?). Heading straight for the stratosphere and you cannot stop me. Just gonna hide away in shame now don’t look at me.

Pirates and Dragons
I don't know why, but @tigracespace's Pirateformers AU is becoming a comfort writing thing for me. XD It's just so easy and fun to write up all these ideas for my usually Mary Sue and bland OC. But through this, I can actually make her interesting and enjoy a world so many badass and creative people have enjoyed as well! So thank you, Grace, for making this awesome world and for making me feel so included in it.
As thanks.... Have some angst and lore I just fancied making, purely for fun! XD
Asya refuses to talk about the life she had before she began her journey across the seas, and even more so about her scars. However, should someone find the means of gaining the right info from either intel on her desert homeland, one she has rarely said the name of stubbornly, or from managing to get either one of her husbands drunk enough to go on a tangent, they will discover three main things about her past...
The first is a tale about the savannah kingdom itself, one that has now spread to its boarders towards the seas around Primus through the grapevine of merchants... It tells of the beasts that once roamed the sands of the foreign kingdom, who were terrifying but sentient and noble creatures that soared through the skies and bore bodies of vibrant colours stronger than any metal known to man. No weapon could pierce their jewel-like armored hides and no army could offer even a challenge to the strength of one mighty beast, and when humanity first began to settle amongst the dunes of this land a war soon began between man and beast. This primordial war only ended when a union was declared between the two sides, and thus peace began as humans and beasts coexisted. However, peace was quickly forgotten when the greed for victory overcame both their senses, and soon the beasts were hunted down to near extinction, the remaining few vanishing as herds gone into hiding where no man could ever hope to find them. And yet, their noble lineage remained through those born with the blood of the beast within them... granting them defining features such as luminescent eyes, fangs, pointed ears, and both a thunderous roar and rage-based strength akin to the beasts of old, but with the amplified greed of mankind serving as punishment for driving away their forefathers.
The second piece of info follows this tale into reality, as those same merchants eagerly share eyewitness stories about the current ruler of the savannah, the baron named Lord Omari, and the battle that was said to have occurred within his domain, in the marketplace of the savannah's capital city. Occurring just shortly after the death of his consort, a thief was said to have run out of the noble's palace and began to flee the capital towards the main river outside its city walls. Giving chase, the baron himself caught up to the young thief and the two revealed their true beastly strength as they wrestled and fought with fangs and claws mixed with fists and shouts of blame. Some say their words were supposedly blended with roars of the fabled beasts that shook the very streets around them, while other witnesses claimed that the lord and the thief were in fact beasts rather than men who fought like wild dogs over a scrap of meat, fangs gripping the other's throat and scaled claws upon dark human skin...
No matter the perspective, it all ends the same way... With the thief landing the final blow in the form of a deep bite on the neck and a claw slashing over the baron's face, leaving behind four long scars across the entire face of the snarling lord. In a fit of rage, the bleeding lord took the young boy by the throat in one hand and threw him far across the city square, through walls of brick and sandstone before landing in the river and using it to escape the lord's further damage to his already scar riddled body, including the four prominent scars on his belly. The so-called thief was never seen again, and the Lord has since proclaimed a bounty on his head, should he ever return to the lands of the desert. However, no face is said to be on the wanted posters within the savannah and upon the docks along the boarder. Instead it shows only a name and a price;
Sir Andres Omari, former Heir Apparent Wanted: Dead or Alive Ten Thousand Gold
Through the story of the baron, the final snippet of info can be found when simply comparing Asya's appearance to the warning every merchant will offer when asked about the savannah kingdom, especially in regards to the baron and his more well known nickname...
Beware the wrath of the Dragon Lord.

Far-Too-Specific Predictions for Critical Role C3 that will Absolutely be Wrong (but I like)
Setting and Flavor
I would love to see a group of veterans after a massive war that left both sides devastated.  Matt likes to play with difficult moral conundrums, and a setting where two warring parties both came off poorly, and now they’re both limping through a reconstruction could be really interesting for a long-play game. I would also really like to see both sides of the conflict represented in the group.  The one thing I wanted to see more of in campaign 2 was a native Xorhasian perspective in the group (aside from Essek, who wasn’t a PC).  I’m placing this as post-major Dynasty/Empire conflict at some point in the future, so it would be the same geographical setting as campaign 2, but time skipped enough that we don’t really have a ton of recurring characters.  Cameos from the longer-lived Campaign 2 characters are still possible, though.
Player characters
These predictions are based on my perception of player preferences, interesting roleplay opportunities, and focusing on things that the players seem interested in but haven’t been able to explore yet.  I have also built prior relationships, because I loved having PCs come in with relationships to build the group on and give early opportunities for trust and character building:
Travis: Human Cleric (Order), with possible multi-class Fighter (Battle master). I would love to lean into a tactical, Imperial battle-commander type character for Travis, who can hit, but leans more support.  I also would love to see him play a cleric with wavering faith in how he used to believe and practice.  He has seen too much of war, too much of dying, to be overly-devoted to a single law or side, and is on an active quest of faith to find a higher sense of order and morality.  He maybe left the army in disgrace, or went AWOL, but either way he is persona non grata on his former side of the war, with only one ally having followed him into exile.  Prior relationship: Ashley’s fighter.  When he went AWOL or was driven into exile, she was the only soldier who followed him. He struggles with his choices and his faith, and she acts as his rock and has become far more of an equal because of that.
Ashley: Warforged Fighter (echo knight).  Ashley loves a straightforward fighter, so I wanted to give her something without complex rules to stress her out, but one that still has some really interesting flavor and possibilities once she gets into the groove.  Echo knight is ideal, because it’s not a hard subclass to play, but it can be seriously fun.  I like the idea that her character was built as an answer to Xorhasian dunamancy, to double herself and fight as two.  As she evolved and became less a machine and more a person, she became more and more attached to her commander rather than blind patriotism, to the point that when he left, she went with him.  Prior relationship: Travis’ cleric.  He was her commander, and she still tends to act as his soldier, despite his wavering faith. She followed him when he lost faith, and she continues to be the one who follows and believes in him.
Laura: Full Orc Barbarian (wild magic).  Laura loves to hit things, and has clearly wanted to play a hardcore tank for a while. I want her to be able to wade into any fight and tank a ton of damage, and full orc and barbarian both play into that. I figure her character would be Xorhasian, was a soldier for a while, but could never fit in because of her taste for wild magic and her chaotic nature.  Having her be a full orc would also allow her to explore playing a character who can’t be traditionally sexy, which would be a fun change from Vex and Jester. I see her as someone who rapidly went AWOL from the army, and is generally unaligned and doesn’t want to think about the war or what it did to her country or her people, and wallows in wild magic to avoid it.  Maybe she went to the Menagerie Coast during the war to get away from the fighting and dive deeper into her path, at which point she met Sam’s character.  Prior relationship: Sam’s sorcerer, as they walk the same path.  They share a faith, and that drew them together before the campaign, and they’re chaotic, happy best friends.
Sam: Satyr Sorcerer (wild magic).  Doubling up wild magic would be nuts, but would allow Sam and Laura to play with some crazy combos in roleplay and in combat.  Sam loves unpredictability, and so I could really see him leaning into the dice roll and relishing when things go wrong as a wild magic sorcerer.  Satyr would also lean into this chaotic bent, and would stack well with the charisma-based sorcerer build.  I see him as being from the Menagerie Coast, unaligned in the war, but touched by it somehow (possibly lost someone / his home / etc to the fighting?).  He and Laura’s character met due to their mutual inclination and tie to wild magic, and are very close friends who have tried to spend the entire war pretending there isn’t a war.  Prior relationship: Laura’s barbarian.  They are on the same wild path, but perhaps have different connections to it or opinions about it to give them different flavors and different approaches to the same chaos.
Marisha: Yuan-ti Pureblood Rogue (swashbuckler).  Let Marisha play high charisma!  Let her play a pirate!  I would love to see a snake-y pirate lady, unaffiliated with everything, acting as a sarcastic outside observer.  I would love to see her lean into snark and the scoundrel-with-a-heart-of-gold archetype, especially in a race than is stereotyped as evil.  Maybe she’s getting out of the pirate’s life, or did something horrific that riddles her with guilt that she covers with snark.  I would just love to have her get a dark, but non-political backstory.  Prior relationship: None.  She is a wildcard character, deliberately.  She comes in and adds a very different flavor and perspective, and as such, probably shouldn’t have a relationship with any of the other characters.
Liam: High Elf Artificer (artillerist).  Liam’s love of describing his spells’ mechanics in C2 was what inspired this. I think he would enjoy being an inventor steeped in tragedy, possibly as someone who invented a weapon of mass destruction for the Empire, and still wants to believe in his homeland, despite what he did and what they did.  Give me Liam as the man who has become death, destroyer of worlds.  It plays into his love of tragedy and redemption, and I am here for that.  Prior relationship: Taliesin’s wizard.  His shame has kept him a hermit, but chance brought Taliesin’s character to him, and he saw Taliesin’s character as a means of redemption or better understanding. Having his closest tie be to someone from the other side would also play into the tragedy of his character.
Taliesin: Drow Wizard (homebrew dunamancer).  Taliesin has always been Matt’s go-to for exploring homebrew content, and introducing dunamancy into C2 was a ton of fun.  I would love to see this get expanded and explored with a Xorhasian dunamancer character PC, and Taliesin has a talent for taking something Matt has played with (Firbolgs, blood hunters, etc.), and making it unique.  He’s definitely the player I could see taking the dunamancer and making him very distinct from Essek and the pre-established notion of what a dunamancer is.  This would also fit with my notion that his character was tightly tied to Dynasty politics, possibly a courtier background, prior to the war, and found himself tied up in it.  I would love to see Taliesin play a character more politically tied to the central story than Caduceus was, as he has a talent for driving plot and being a lynchpin for Matt’s larger plans.  So centering the deep-lore plot on Tal and Liam could be really great.  Prior relationship: Liam’s artificer, though theirs is not a long acquaintance.  They met shortly before the campaign, and though they have a bond, it’s new and somewhat untested.  Not to mention that the combination of an artillerist who built a weapon of mass destruction and a dunamancer make for the potential for some explosive blowouts as secrets get revealed.

Note
For the character ask meme: Xivu Arath? :)
Pick a character I am likely to have Feelings/Opinions about and I will give and explain the top five ideas/concepts/etc that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them.
ngl I have only ever needed an excuse to try and share my interpretation of her (and apologies to the other two asks also for xivu, synnth got to it first! feel free to send in other characters, ofc)
given she is a lore-only character and we are just now getting reliable mentions of her, a lot of this might veer into interpretations of the scraps we do have
1. bold, but not foolish or reckless. as a two-year old krill she was cutting bait stars from stormjoys, which is a risky endeavour requiring surety of skill and limits both. as a general she's learned from the worm gods ("if we cannot beat their strengths, we must infect their weaknesses"), and from oryx's example, making extra armies for herself with the taken and the wrathborn so she can keep the hive in reserve. she'll take risks and seek challenges personally, and is likely to let loose when fighting other ascendant hive, but she's taken a very different approach from oryx's arrival to the system - which is something I've already written about a little, and I'm glad she's thus far holding to! thanks for backing me up, xivu!
2. she loves her family deeply. so deeply and with such devotion that she has taken actions at odds with the sword logic, such as when she offered oryx her life freely. I often feel, especially with the ongoing war right now, the enormity of that sacrifice is overlooked. by the standards of the deep, there are no gifts. if anything, xivu should have demanded oryx prove his right to take her life through battle
but it was a desperate situation, and he had a plan, and she trusted him. so she offered to be killed without any intention of striking back (unlike savathun, who was decidedly less on-board with this idea). if the plan failed, they all would have revived in their thrones eventually, but xivu had risked the most in it. she had gone against not only the sword logic but also her worm's edict to always test her strength, and its hunger had been at an intense level already. she might well have returned only to be devoured. yet she didn't hesitate....
I think it's reasonable to argue that this isn't necessarily a lone instance, and she's capable of this kind of selflessness and loyalty, unprompted, even millions of years more down the line
3. very emotional and reactive. amusingly enough, she has the most emotive writing among the krill siblings - lots of exclamation points! - and after taox's betrayal is frequently referred to as burning and seething with rage and hatred. she's still affected by the same general flattening of experiences and emotions as all hive, so most reactions usually take the form of violence (joyful) or violence (threatening). however, she remembers her old life with clarity
now admittedly this part veers more into headcanon - while she's not capable of empathy, she might assess people and draw comparisons between them and her family and past, to better frame their possible motivations. (and I had thought of this before... you pointed out in a call that savathun was doing a lot of the very same thing in her seasonal dialogues. stop spying on me, bungie. I mean it.)
4. not a very fervent follower of the deep. it might appear like she should be, because she is very good at murder and war and the deep does like that, but that's... superficial? she doesn't seek to test her strength and do battle as ideology. her goals have only ever been about herself and her family (and vengeance upon taox, which is also about family, betrayed and broken), and are intrinsically selfish. following the sword logic has mostly been about what's easy for her, not something she has to think about. this might well be foreshadowed by how she speaks to the leviathan:
You are huge and old! Our lives are short and desperate. If that’s the way the world’s supposed to be, I won’t have it! If people like Taox are supposed to win, I won’t let them! I’ll beat the world until it changes! I’ll kill anything in the way!
the death threats are what the leviathan hears most clearly, and given the context, with good reason. but what I think is most important is that what then-xi ro wanted and was willing to kill everyone for was a chance to change things, to ensure this situation never happened again. about, ultimately, the betrayal and being able to cut the head off her own grief and hate
as for the purpose she is bound to follow - she defines herself in those uncertain moments between victory and death until they become rote, and then she moves on to something stronger once more. but this still needs other opponents, which she won't have once the final shape is reached. she'll be a splendid weapon for the deep - but at its behest, she'll never truly be happy. (and also I will be very, very sad)
5. surprisingly affable for a hive god that can kill you with presence alone and TALKS LIKE THIS A LOT. if she's not fighting you, and even if she is, has a disarmingly good sense of humour (hive-flavour), likes to banter and dunk on her family, played games and kept her siblings' spirits up on their voyage as krill and probably drops by most of the alarmingly huge osmium family to check up on relatives and fling various children into orbit to keep them humble. she's the youngest and most buff with two more introverted, focused siblings - you cannot tell me she didn't develop the most overpowering jock energy just to assail them when they're trying to get things done

I've seen all these critical posts abt techno not taking lore seriously/being a mary sue??
Guys, Techno have priorities when displaying his emotions.
He only show them when his friends or people he consider friends are threatened and that isn't bad in my opinion, is actually a good trait that i (and hopefully other people relate to agree to a tee)
He is the type of guy that always raise a facade of a unstoppable king and impecable warrior, but when someone he cares is threatened, he clearly sounds distressed
When Phill was forced to watch him get executed by the butcher army while trapped in his house, Techno literally shouted for him in worry for his sake when he was the one that were going to die
When Tommy 'betrayed' him at the community house scene (to me they both got a terrible misunderstanding), He respected Tommy decision and let him be when he joined dream, saying that he hoped the boy didn't regret it. At this point they would be enemies and yet Techno still choose to leave Tommy dignity intact because of the bond they used to share.
Which makes their scene on Doomsday even more impactful to me, he felt true anger towards Tommy because deep down he believed they both were friends and let on his frustration on him when they weren't anymore and used the destruction of lmanberg as a decoy to his feelings of revolt, saying that he wasn't been seeing as a person or a friend.
Basically it turned out to be way more personal than Techno wanted to make people believe and honestly it was one of his best moments as a character for me.
Techno cares so much for his connections that he is willing to do anything to keep them safe because that's what he believe (alongside with his twisted in a sense, anarchist ideals)
He doesn't take Dream (his kinda ally) seriously, he doesn't take Quackity (his sworn enemy) seriously, nor Sam, not even the Egg, because he doesn't feel any reason to take them seriously. He has no emotional attachment to them
But to people he cared/still care, he listen to them, he let them be free and make their own decisions even if he doesn't agree and he proudly shows that he have friends because he values them a lot
I may be entirely wrong but honestly, I don't think Techno is a bad character, people should chill and enjoy the lore he promised and gave
And about him and Dream being roommates on his last stream? Fucking hilarious! Best stream 10/10
And also with potential for us to finally see a Dream Pov in the future (hopefully) and finally see things through his perspective? Wondeful
