The way I see it, if I don't witness it, it didn't happen, therefore Haldir is very much alive and is living out his life, happy and safe.

“And so Gollum found them hours later, when he returned, crawling and creeping down the path out of the gloom ahead. Sam sat propped against the stone, his head dropping sideways and his breathing heavy. In his lap lay Frodo's head, drowned in sleep; upon his white forehead lay one of Sam's brown hands, and the other lay softly upon his master's breast. Peace was in both their faces. Gollum looked at them. A strange expression passed over his lean hungry face. The gleam faded from his eyes, and they went dim and grey, old and tired. A spasm of pain seemed to twist him, and he turned away, peering back up towards the pass, shaking his head, as if engaged in some interior debate. Then he came back, and slowly putting out a trembling hand, very cautiously he touched Frodo's knee--but almost the touch was a caress. For a fleeting moment, could one of the sleepers have seen him, they would have thought that they beheld an old weary hobbit, shrunken by the years that had carried him far beyond his time, beyond friends and kin, and the fields and streams of youth, an old starved pitiable thing.”

I was in grade 5 when i discovered the masterpiece that is LOTR & so, naturally, I started writing my name in elvish when we would get handouts & the first time our student teacher handed back our graded papers he was like “🤨🥴😵‍💫 whose is this?” & I was like “mine!” & then by the 3rd time he just knew & for the rest of that school year I just continued writing my name in elvish like it was normal & I still think about it every night

Aragorn sped on up the hill. Every now and again he bent to the ground. Hobbits go light, and their footprints are not easy even for a Ranger to read, but not far from the top a spring crossed the path, and in the wet earth he saw what he was seeking.

a lil bit of merry and pip
(was going to draw more scenes based off the book, but I drew the last pic first, and then immediately went back to drawing baby hobbits)

The elves of middle earth having the same “call your dad when you don’t know how to fix a problem” instinct but because they live forever it’s like
Some elf starts experiencing the elven equivalent of car trouble (idk, horse won’t go?) and calls his dad, and then his dad can’t figure it out so he calls HIS dad and so on and so forth until you’ve got this guys entire lineage all huddled together in elven cargo shorts trying to solve a dented horseshoe
