Louis about LT3
a summary UPDATED
Sep 2022 first time Louis mentions a 3rd album. Louis is quoted in Euphoria Magazine saying: “Ideally, I’d like to try and write the next record before I go on tour next year. I want to do something similar to what I’ve done this past year.” (but from what we know now it seems it didn't play out that way..)
Sep 14th 2022 Louis leaves a comment on Faith In The Future co-writer Nico Rebscher's instagram post about Out Of My System saying "Can’t wait to do more on the next album!"
Jan 2023 Louis is on holiday in Cabo, Mexico and is spotted travelling with his guitar - maybe in case inspiration strikes!?
Feb 22nd 2023 Louis is seen "a tiny village with a recording studio in it". A few days later both Louis and Matt Vines likes an instagram post by Faith In The Future co-writer David Sneddon captioned "Spent the week at @ angelicstudiouk with friends and heroes." Another FITF co-writer Theo Hutchcraft is seen in one of the photos.
May 11th 2023 Louis tweets: "Also probably shouldn’t mention this so early in the process but I’m feeling really confident creatively, just finished a week of writing and it was unbelievable. Exciting!"
May 13th 2023 When asked about the next album at the LA screening of All Of Those Voices, he answered: “I recently just started, yeah. The majority have been my own, but some of the lyrics is less direct, so it’s maybe not quite as specifically about me but,I felt really fulfilled, the last couple of writing sessions I’ve done have been really, really good.”
Nov 23rd 2023 Louis gets asked about album 3 at the Rolling Stone UK Awards and is quoted saying: “It’s funny, I wrote maybe 4 or 5 tunes in one of the breaks of the tour legs, and actually, I just wanna spend a bit of time. I’m really excited for those songs, but I don’t know when the next records gonna come and the thing about me is when I start writing, I’m just desperate to release things as soon as a possible, so I wanna take a bit of time on this record. So when that might be, who knows.” He also talks a bit about potential collaborators and mentions DMA'S.
Jan 20th 2024 Louis follows producer James Ellis Ford who has worked with Arctic Monkey, Gorillaz and many, many more.
Jan 24th 2024 When asked in a twitter Q&A if he has "a concept in mind already for the next album?" his answer was: "Started drawing the outline in my head". He also told fans asking at the meet 'n' greet in Jakarta that it would be "soon, in my context of the word" 😜
Mar 30th 2024 At the Tecate Pa'l Norte press conference he said: “At the moment, um— to be honest, I haven’t really— the question was what I listen to which is a slightly different thing but; I haven’t really given the next record real thought yet. Obviously it’s been on my mind. But in terms of conceptually, or even finding references, I’m not really at that point yet because I’ve done a lot of touring— just kind of getting that out of the way before I really start thinking about that proper.”
April 4th 2024 He told Chilean radio station Bio Bio: “I have written a couple of songs, but when I was writing them I wasn’t thinking about what they would be for a new album, they were just written to give me something to write and not put pressure on those songs. But I think I will start the work on a new album at the end of this year, maybe.” futher elaborating to Radio Disney Chile: “The good thing about this record is I’m gonna have plenty of time to experiment and with that it gives you plenty of room to just kind of find where the edges of the record live. So yeah I’m looking forward to getting into the process, but like I said I’ve been loving touring at the moment so just been kind of sticking to that.”.
He also told Paraguayan radio station HEI Now: “Of course there’ll be a new album. When? I’m not overly sure. I think I’ll probably start writing at the end of the year. I just wanna let as much life in first and then I can really start emoting and writing.”
June 2024 In the FITF tour LatAm recap video posted to Louis’ instagram 25/6 he says: “At some point I gotta think about the next record, but.. I’m a bit scared of that, truthfully right now, feel like I’ve been enjoying the success of Faith in The Future for.. quite a while. And yes, it’s been the pressure of the shows but I delivered what I think was a good record and a record that was successful. So now going into the next cycle it’s a little bit.. a little bit tentative going into it. I know that’ll change once I get off the road and really start thinking about the essence of the record and the concept of the record and stuff like that. But right now.. yeah, I’m just thinking about the festivals, I’m excited for those.” (he also talks - in past tense about playing in Mexico City and about the upcoming Away From Home Festival, so we can assume this interview was done somewhere in early June)
August 4th 2024 Responding to a fan sign at Santander Music Festival that said "How close R we to the next album 1-5?" showing three - possibly four? - fingers! meaning the album is 3/5 (or 4/5?) done!

Just got to witness Louis and his band making a song at the festival yesterday. Steve was making a beat while Louis was holding his phone singing. Can't hear that much of what he was saying but when they played the tune its like a mixture of Mr. Brightside and 505. Michael was playing the guitar and everything. They were doing convos back and forth until Louis got out because someone was calling him. Magical to see tbh, guess we might get a single soon 👀
Oh, that’s so cool you got to see that. I wonder if they were just having fun and noodling around, or if they were really writing something together.

Recap Simon Cowell's new interview about 1D.
Hi everyone so I decided to do a combination of recap/transcription of what Simon said about One Direction on The Diary Of A CEO with Steven Bartlett.
TLDR: His only regret was to not own the name of One Direction to make things like animations or make them tour without all the members, according to him there hasn't been a great group after 1D. He advice to the 1D boys was to be themselves, to be involved in their music, to not get a stylist, to not dance etc. He said that in his new show the group that is form will not get a record deal they have to be good enough to get one after the show and part of the new deal will be that he owns the name.
If you want to see the videos are in this post. Below I have the recap for anyone who wants a more detail info of what he said without the need to watch Simon's face, I still link the videos for each part.
So the poodcast is 2hrs and 14 min long. They basically talk about Simon and how he got were he was, his family, son etc. The last 30 min aprox is what I would expand more, whoever I want to point out two aspects that stand out for me in the history of him:
He doesn't know the process to make a record, he never goes to a studio and see the process, doesn,'t know what is first etc. He says he doesn't want to and he doesn't want to pretend to know anything, he just wants to listen to the album after and form an opinion.
He wanted a producer Peter Waterman to make a record for his artist ( Sinitta who previously Simon have a hit with her the first time) this producer got very famous and have a lot of work so he didn't accept to work with Simon. So Simon went to the studio every day and make tea and sit in the studio, after a year and a half Pete ask him why is he always there and Simon said he was trying to learn how he does it, how he works (to me sounded kind of stalker vibes) and said that he wants that one day he writes Sinitta next record. A few months later the producer at the end call him with a record for his artist and was Toy Boy and he knew it would be a hit internationally, it hit no. 4 in the UK and was famous in Europe.
1D creation, paparazzi & privacy.
For Simon it was quite obvious once the boys were form they were gonna be really successful with the right records, for him they were the perfect group. I: "I think the most successful artist you've ever develop? S: "Gosh ah, I actually I don't know the answer to that". I: Really? S: No, I mean I know they were really successful they sold a lot of records...[whispers] and they made a lot of money.
He adviced them to not complain about paparazzis: "Don't ever complaint about paparazzi because they are gonna take your pictures, don't complaint about invasion of privacy because people were always want to a picture taken with you. Don't complain about the long hours because they're going to be long hours, so none of this if any of this is a problem just do something else". That is what it comes with the territory and it's worth it.
Not a good group after 1D & his show.
For Simon being in a band is more fun that being a solo artist and it's a brilliant way to get notice like they've all become, being in a band was the catalyst for that.
He is making a new show because right now for him" I don't think a band who has been as good as One Direction since One Direction in my opinion'. Now they are more solo artist than bands in the pop music and the only way he knows to put a band together is with auditions. For his show they are gonna document the whole process since the beginning of the idea, the selection the contestants etc. "There is not safety blanket on this in terms of I haven't gone to a record label and go and said right I'm doing this would it you guarantee a record deal, l got to hope the band are good enough to get a record deal."
Secret sauce of 1D, problem of making bands and his "advice" to 1D The interview ask him what is the secret souce for boybands. Simon says people, personality, that is the one thing about 1D they all have great personalities and they were interesting people. The first time he saw them again after the band was form was in Spain and they were walking at the beach and everyone were looking at them as they were already stars even if nobody knew them, there was this glow about them.
He had hits with bands and missing with bands he was 1% off or 80% off. He just gotta hope he gets lucky and find the right people. He is selling an act to somebody he is not, the fans are going to be primarly teenegers, he have to guess what the audience is going to like. Recently when he sees bands for for the minute they are on stage he knows is wrong, someone told him what to wear, they are rehearsed, nothing is spontaneous "and I'm thinking what is that person whoever is behind the scenes, why can't let them just be themselves?"🙄.
He said to the 1D boys: "Do whay you like and that was sort of it, I just said look when you got a problem you come to me. Is really down to you to make this work. You gotta love the records you make, you gotta influence the records you make, you can't dance so don't try and dance, don't ever hire a stylist because you already have great taste, and just be yourselves and really really have fun."
Harry's success & famous UK artists.
Would he predicted his success? He never guess he was going to be one of the biggest stars in the world, no one would have thought that. He thought Harry was charismatic, fun and the audience like him. The boys use that vehicle of 1D to go where they wanted to go, he doesn't know if Harry will be Harry without 1D no one could tell that, but being in a band help him.
This make him thought that "the amount of UK artists that broken globally in the last say 7 years has fallen off a cliff, literally if you think about how many global artist British had broken globally in the last 7 years is possible 3? Which is crazy.
I: I can' think of 3. S: [says with his lips "nor can I] [Both laugh].
Only regret, tour & new deal with new group
"Again when I was talking to One Direction I remember saying to them our goal is for to you to have enough hits that if you ever reform that you could do stadiums tours. That means you gotta have 10 hit singles because that's what people wanna hear, they want to hear the hits, and you know if they ever did reform that's exactly what would happened". He doubts that the 1D boys will get back together.
The interviewer mentions that Spice Girls got together many years later, then Simon talks about his only regret , without anyone asking him about this by the way [For a fragment of the next part I will use the color purple for Simon dialogue and color green for the interviewer dialogue]:
S: "The one thing I regret is I should have keep the name" I: "Oh you should have owned the name?"S: I should have owned the name. I: You didn't own the name? S: No. I: Who owns the name? S: They do. I: Oh okay. S: That's the problem I could have made an animation or whatever, but when you give an artist the name it's not yours and that's my ONLY regret, so if your listening [looks at the camera] I will buy it back from you. We'll do it as a partnership [points to interviewer with both hands] -S: "But that is the ONLY thing I do regret because if one of the band members for whatever reason said they don't want do tour it can stop the others touring so if it was me who own the name it wouldn't be a problem." -I: You can do a tour with 3 of them. As so that's was stopping a tour, because they what..did they own 25%, 20%? -S: "I believe so, yes, I mean I can be very naive at times and that was me being very very naive, so next time that will be part of the deal, I have to own the name, they can still make most of the money but I need to own the name."
Thanks to @wendersfive to help me figure it out what Simon mumble.
Before ending this just wanted to share that besides the many times Simon has try to make groups in his shows, he already made this idea of a show dedicated to create a band. Is not something new.
The transcription I did it with only what I heard and seeing the subtitles on youtube so sorry for anything I could miss or a gramatical mistake.

Louis Jouvet: What is their vocation? | Ethel Cain: I do it for my daddy and I do it for Dale (Portland 2024)
'Choosing in favor of those two paths toward poetry and freedom'
She's doing what she wants and, damn, she's doing it well.
Louis Jouvet, The Disembodied Actor:
"Vocation. Separating oneself from the ordinary. A kind of romanticism. Distancing oneself from a contented mediocrity that seeks nothing, that sees no problem other than money or well-being. Choosing in favor of those two paths toward poetry and freedom, against which Flaubert says there is a general and permanent conspiracy. A desire for friendship, for happiness; fleeing the solitary harshness felt within, the unbearable intimacy. Also, a taste for parody in some, irony, a hunger-suppressing diversion from anger, rebellion, not wanting to take oneself too seriously, nor especially others. To rid oneself of bitterness. Disgust with the bourgeoisie at certain times. The ability to be outraged, to scorn. The mind and the heart are never clearly distinguishable from one another. An impatient kick against imposed convictions. Youthful romanticism. And all the flattery that explains and expresses itself. A slave market. A taste for luxury, for lucre, for love. Lacking the ability to go elsewhere, one goes to the theater. Instead of diverging, one joins. A taste for confidence, confession, admission. Pride in oneself. Vocation, an immense receptacle that contains all feelings in their origin, for which it is impossible to find moral or pedagogical precepts. All these vocations are drawn into the works of the time, by the dramatic spirit blowing at that moment: “One may hesitate before placing one’s heart in the hands of the public.” It is primarily the actor's own contentment at stake, their relief."
"What is their vocation? Often based on flaws, even vices. But that matters little—whether one wants to be a teacher out of a taste for domination or governance, or a soldier out of a desire for the uniform, it matters little. Most human actions are driven by motives that are somewhat impure, or at least questionable. What is important is to purify them afterward, to ennoble them through the sense of profession one discovers, through practice, through self-knowledge, through a self-improvement that elevates you. To be religious out of fear of hell, or out of fear of struggle, or out of disgust for life, or out of despair from love—the initial motivation should not be despised; the essential thing is to then reach where one must, to place oneself on the true professional level, in the love of God, in the love of one’s vocation."
Louis Jouvet: The Disembodied Actor

You always read so much into Louis’ lyrics and I’ve tried but I don’t get it. They seem so lazy to me.
Okay. I’ve held onto this ask for nearly two weeks now and I wasn’t going to answer it because it’s offensive. But I’m feeling salty today. So.
*wheels out whiteboard*
Exhibit A:
Through my cigarette, a shadow of you sticks to me to the carpet, try to ignore it, something about the way the light catches the mirror in my brain, it gives me shade.
Is that enough imagery for you? Enough metaphor?
Example 2:
Conversation is currency, shapes become a language, square eyes and sunglasses, finding faces in the trees
Is this straightforward and boring? Is this just too simple? Sorry, my bad, onto the next one.
Item 3:
It’s an old curse, dreamers diving head first, broken beaks and dead birds, can’t get through the glass.
Yeah. Super lazy this one. Really.
Anon, these are just the lyrics I wrote from memory, sat here mulling over the absurdness of this ask. I haven’t even mentioned ‘on my way to 27’ or ‘building mountains, hoping that they’ll turn to gold’ or the onomatopoeia or any of the very real language devices that are used regularly.
Louis’ songwriting is so incredibly layered and complicated; there are multiple interpretations from all different fans and the ability to give so much to so many is a talent in and of itself. Lyrically complex and lyrically confusing are not the same thing. It takes a real artist to be able to simplify the roaring emotions we all feel, it takes tangible restraint to say that actually, sometimes it doesn’t need to be opaque because the rawest form is enough. It takes something special to punch me in the heart with ‘you tell me ‘take it easy’, but it’s easier to say, wish I didn’t need so much of you, I hate to say but I do.’
It’s clearly all lost on you and I think that’s a little sad.

Hi! Louis rocked last night! Do you know what was so special about the post malone song?
like why did Louis pick it? I mean obviously I/ we can't know, and I assume he likes the song for starters (he followed Post Malone on insta a couple years ago, for what it's worth). And him and the band were able to make it work, it sounded great in the set and sounded great with his voice, so he must have seen that potential in it. But the lyrics are wild for Louis to be singing and the fact that they echo like half of his songs and pretty much all his other covers in theme makes it pretty hard not think that's why, that it is a song that grabbed him and resonated with him, or at minimum that it being so parallel to KMM was a factor. Also I think he likes being a little daring and getting to sing explicit stuff and being like ooooh I'm really not in a teen pop boyband anymore I can do songs about getting my brains fucked out (not that he ever let that stop him😂). Plus as @goldcrumble pointed out, the nod to Seven Nation Army (the song that the crowd chant to him in latam especially and they've teased covering) in the lyrics is hilarious, it wouldn't be our SBB Louis if he did something simple and unlayered without a clever little extra, bless him🥰 (lyrics under the cut)
Oxytocin makin' it all okay When I come back down, it doesn't feel the same Now I'm sittin' 'round, waitin' for the world to end all day 'Cause I couldn't leave you if I tried
You break me, then I break my rules Last time was the last time too It's fucked up, I know, but I'm still
Outside of the party, smokin' in the car with you Seven Nation Army, fightin' at the bar with you Tell you that I'm sorry, tell me what I gotta do 'Cause I can't let go, it's chemical No, I can't let go, it's chemical
Every time I'm ready to make a change You turn around and fuck out all my brains (woo) I ain't tryna fight fate, it's too late to save face I can't get away, maybe there's no mistakes (maybe there's no mistakes)
You break me, then I break my rules Last time was the last time too It's fucked up, I know, but I'm still
Standing outside of the party, smokin' in the car with you Seven Nation Army, fightin' at the bar with you Tell you that I'm sorry, tell me what I gotta do 'Cause I can't let go, it's chemical (chemical) No, I can't let go, it's chemical (chemical) No, I can't let go, it's chemical
I can't let go, it's chemical
Tell you that I'm sorry, tell me what I gotta do No, I can't let go, it's chemical

You know the party's over
When you're standin' in an empty space alone
And time can always heal ya
If you let it make its way into your bones
Nothing's ever easy
To be honest, I'm not easy on myself
The second that I see ya
The space between us just comes floodin' back

The fact Louis doesn’t even show up to the meetings where his music and coming album is being discussed?! He just leaves that up to his management and they tell his collaborators what kind of songs to write. Louis doesn’t provide anything, not even his physical presence. At this point I genuinely wonder WHAT he brings to the table….no female artist would get away with this, ever. He is way too privileged in way too many ways. It pisses me off so much! He’s just such a little entitled untalented jerk that survives on his unearned fame and money which was given to him by other peoples talents! And he has the audacity to get on stage every night in his hideous outfits where he sings too little, drinks too much and basically wastes all the other people’s work with his uselessness.
He's just absolutely hopeless. The only positive is that all his fans are dumb Larries who are expecting him to disown his son and come out now that he has a long break from touring. When this doesn't happen, a lot of them won't stick around for LT3.
