James was in and out of Rehab between Hardwired and this album.
This was written during and after the Covid lockdowns.
Oh, and James got divorced in 2022.
Changes. Growth. Depth of emotional knowledge. “Know thyself”, as it were.
This is a very good, very dense record. And it is full of meaning and feeling. I don’t own it on Vinyl yet, but I will in a few days after listening to it again.
They’ve played Lux Aeterna on a number of occasions on TV… “full speed or nothing” to be sure. It’s like an electric jolt of a song.
The standout though is their longest studio recording to date, the last track “Inamorata” is fucking glorious.
