The Sides As ABBA Songs, Because ABBA Slays
I'm on an ABBA kick guys, bear with me- I thought this would be a cool thing to do, plus you get reasons why :3 If you disagree, lmk!
✨Roman✨
Honey, Honey
- Look, it’s as cheesy as ABBA can get. It’s totally up Roman’s alley
- Probably daydreams about Thomas’ crushes to this song specifically
- Knows almost all of the Mamma Mia! lore (Context: A lot of ABBA music was used in Mamma Mia!, a concert-style musical made specifically with ABBA in mind)
- Puts him in the mood to write some kind of romance novel
- Bro is probably obsessed with ABBA an unhealthy amount, to the point C!Thomas starts having dreams about the group members
⭐Logan⭐
The Name Of The Game
- I was originally going to put S.O.S for Lo-gay, but I feel like this one fits better
- Totally jams out to some of ABBA’s chiller songs while reading or while working
- ‘And you make me feel, and you make me show, what I’m trying to conceal’ sounds like somebody is having some funny lil issues hiding something HMMMM???? MAYBE SOME EMOTIONS?????
- Likes to research the members, just to familiarize himself with the artists to better understand
- Probably analyzes every little lyric, but likes this song just a tad more than the others because.. well, he relates in a way.
🌩️Virgil🌩️
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
- The purp man, listening to something OTHER THAN ROCK????!?? Holy shit it’s a miracle
- The most emo song made by ABBA by far
- ‘Won’t somebody help me chase the shadows away?’ C’MON NOW
- Really likes the instrumentals, that’s for sure
- Listens to it kinda often, although it’s kinda just shoved in his 12 hour playlist
- For some reason it calms him down a little when he’s really anxious
- Probably makes up scenarios in his head based on the lyrics
- Not a huge ABBA fan, but tolerates their music a good amount
- Would totally go to a concert tho
💙Patton💙
Slipping Through My Fingers
- I ACTUALLY ALMOST CRIED THINKING ABOUT THIS ONE :(
- It’s just- *sniff* PARENT OVERLOOKING THEIR KID WHO’S FINALLY ALL GROWN UP :((((
- ‘Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture, And save it from the funny tricks of time’ I CHOKED AND DIED :(
- Pat probably listens to this song sparingly, because he might relate just a lil too much
- He does like it, it’s just he’s a very emotional guy
- Honestly, he probably listens to ABBA just because it’s ABBA
- Jams to Dancing Queen tho
⚜️Janus⚜️
Voulez-Vous
- Come on now. The phrase ‘Nothing promised, no regrets’? Literally Janus in a nutshell.
- Not really his taste, but sometimes puts it on as a boost of some sort (Probably in the morning)
- I mean, this song is just a bop
- DEFINITELY plays the Just Dance version with Remus or one of the other sides
- I lied he likes playing all the ABBA songs on JD okay he just does
- Probably quotes the french in this song (Only Roman gets it, and 85% of the time he just doesn’t remember what it means)
🟩Remus⬛
Does Your Mother Know?
- Do I need to explain?
- This song is just- yes
- Would definitely tease someone interested in him exactly like this song does
- He’s just so silly
- Probably headbangs to ABBA’s more “explicit” songs
- This one though, he likes because of its funny lil’ indications
- Likes Mamma Mia! like Roman, but only because of the dirty jokes and the “funny” content
- Is pissed it’s not on Just Dance
- Most likely changes the lyrics sometimes to whatever weird things pop into his head that works
- Blasts ABBA music in the background when smashing things with his morningstar (need I explain? we all know he smashes things outta nowhere)
BONUS!!!
💤Sleep💤
Money, Money, Money
- You know this dude is about to spend all his money on starbucks
- It’s just- his aesthetic
- Would definitely marry a wealthy man/woman just for the money
- Hardcore ABBA fan, shut up you cannot change my freaking mind
- Knows all the words
- (Begrudgingly) Geeks out with Roman about it every once in a while
- Causes C!Thomas to lose sleep over this fact (Sleep literally just disappears)
- His personal playlist is half ABBA
- Scored Megastar on Just Dance on every ABBA song (Janus and Remus r jealous of his talent)
💗Emile💗
Chiquitita
- The song reminds me of the therapist friend, so ofc the boi himself deserves it
- Prefers to listen to cartoon soundtracks, though will make an exception every once and a while
- He’s such a sweetheart omg
- If C!Thomas and Emile met in some multiverse I feel like this song describes how a later interaction would go
- I forget that Sleep and Emile aren’t sides lolol
- Also really enjoys Super Trouper for some reason even he can’t explain, he just likes it lol
🌈C!Thomas🌈
Angeleyes
- Nico where u at bby gurl :0
- It’s one of those correlations you can’t explain in a simple way
- ‘Sometimes, when I’m lonely, I sit and think about him’ LIKE AWH ik the song is actually about a breakup BUT SHHHH LET ME BE DELUSIONAL
- Probably enjoys ABBA a moderate amount, he doesn’t really have a cohesive opinion
- Is tired of Roman’s bs tho lol
- There is a breakup mentioned in SaSi somewhere, so this song does kinda make sense in a way
- Vibes with Patton to Dancing Queen 100%

Additional tags: inspired by Mamma Mia! (movies), crack, alpha/beta/omega dynamics, omega jaskier, alpha geralt, alpha yennefer, beta radovid, awkwardness, jaskier is a good parent, protective jaskier, weddings, found family, post mpreg, fluff and humor, alternate universe-modern setting
Rating: teen and up audiences
Word count: 2,390 words
Chapters: 1/?
Summary: Jaskier's daughter is about to marry the love of her life, and she decides she wants both her parents at her wedding. Only problem is that Jaskier has slept with a little too many people in his youth, so the identity of the other parent is a mystery. That does not stop the bride-to-be from inviting three potential daddy candidates and unleashing absolute chaos in the process.
*
Otherwise known as Jaskier's terrible horrible no good past decisions leading to terrible horrible no good outcomes. Also known as the Mamma Mia! AU nobody asked for, but I wrote it anyway.
Author's notes: It's time for some crack!!!!! What do you get when you have canonically slutty Jaskier, and add Bambi being a multishipper who loves chaos? That's right, you get a Mamma Mia!AU !! I'm planning on using the plot of the first movie pretty loosely. As in, I will probably not do scene-to -scene recreations, but take advantage of the general idea and the setting!
Feedback is super appreciated!!! Let's get the party started!

“I can’t believe this day has come.”
“Papa, it’s not my wedding yet. I’m just trying on dresses, remember?”
“Still,” Jaskier smiled, blinking against the sentimental tears in his eyes, “my child is getting married. She’s picking out her wedding dress, how am I supposed to cope with this?”
Amaryllis cooed and leaned up to kiss her father on the cheek. Jaskier immediately wound his arms around her, enveloping her in a crushing hug.
“You promised no crying until the ceremony,” Amaryllis reminded him. Jaskier chuckled against her hair.
“I’m failing, obviously.”
But who could blame him, Jaskier mused as Amaryllis finally managed to pull away. He let his daughter take his hand and lead him inside the saloon, her steps happy and prancing, so adorably enthusiastic. Amaryllis was his only child, his baby, his light in this world. Of course, he would become emotional (over and over again) over the fact she was soon to be a married woman. Amaryllis’s fiancée, well, soon-to-be-wife, Sara, was the sweetest thing. Jaskier loved and trusted her, but that didn’t mean he didn’t worry. He always did: he was a parent, that was what he was supposed to do. His child was facing a huge milestone in her life. Jaskier was filled with fear, hope, and a tremendous amount of pride at the same time. He was just overflowing with emotions, and they manifested in constant weeping, apparently.
He decided to try and shut off the waterworks at least while they introduced themselves to the seller. She was a cheerful middle-aged lady named Kate, who heartily congratulated Amaryllis on her upcoming marriage, then she gave a sympathetic hug to Jaskier as well.
“It’s a huge thing, one of the biggest days in our lives,” Kate chirped as she led them further inside the saloon. “Therefore, it has to be perfect. Any ideas on your dream dress, dear?”
“Not sure,” Amaryllis admitted. She still held onto Jaskier’s hand as she looked over the numerous racks and shelves. “My fiancée will have a strapless dress, and it would be nice to match with her, but I think sleeves are more my style?”
“You should pick whatever you’d feel comfortable in,” Jaskier reminded her softly. “You will look beautiful in everything, anyway.”
Amaryllis gave him a bright smile and a squeeze to his hand before she followed Kate into the jungle of dresses. Jaskier raked his eyes around with a sigh. Fluffy dresses and sleek suits hanged everywhere from floor to ceiling, in every shape and every size. They all looked so pretty. Jaskier’s chest tightened for a second before he decided to look away and check on his daughter instead.
Amaryllis was an absolute dream to shop with. Instead of turning into the stereotypical “bridezilla”, she was calm and collected, listening intently to everything Kate told her. Jaskier was immensely proud of her. He also knew that if he were in this situation, he would probably break down five minutes in.
While Amaryllis disappeared inside the fitting room to try on a couple dresses, Kate approached Jaskier with a smile.
“Beautiful girl,” she told him earnestly. Jaskier grinned, proudly puffing his chest out.
“Thank you.”
“Yours, right? I can tell by the eyes. Same set of beautiful baby blues.”
“Ah, you’re so kind. Yes, she’s my daughter.”
“Are you planning a big wedding?”
“Not that big. More people on her fiancée’s side.”
Saying that out loud tasted bitter on Jaskier’s tongue. He wished he could give his daughter an epic ceremony, but unfortunately, he wasn’t on good terms with his family. His parents divorced while he was still a child, and he has only rarely seen his father after that. He’s always had a stormy relationship with his mother as well. She was a very strict, traditional woman, whose pride was greatly hurt when her husband left her. That was probably why she got so angry when Jaskier told her at the ripe age of twenty-one that he has gotten pregnant and had no clue from who. She wanted Jaskier to fulfill that idyllic family picture that she did not manage, and seeing her own child fail at it, too, caused her to cut ties with him. The only relative that Jaskier could count on was his aunt, the only person who has supported him after he ended up alone, pregnant, and scared out of his mind. Her death devastated Jaskier, especially because she didn’t get to see Amaryllis’s birth. She has left his beloved nephew a lovely gift, though, the Dandelion Inn. Jaskier has spent most of his childhood on the small island his aunt lived at, and he really enjoyed staying over at the Inn, even when he was an adult. It was a friendly, warm little motel that felt more like his home than his actual house. He has also met his two best friends there, who have helped him through many hardships.
Jaskier now lived on the island with his daughter and managed the Dandelion Inn. It was idyllic in many ways, and not very idyllic in other ways. Jaskier knew that an unbonded, mate-less Omega would always be the hot topic of every gossip, especially one that got pregnant so young. He has gotten better at handling the acidic insults, but he wished he could have protected his daughter against them, and he wished he could have provided her with the big, happy family that she deserved.
He quickly waved away the sad memories as Amaryllis exited the fitting room. Jaskier gasped and clutched a hand over his heart, willing himself not to tear up again. As expected, Amaryllis looked beautiful in her mermaid- style dress. Her smile shone brighter than the gemstones on the hem when she twirled around.
“My God, you look beautiful,” Jaskier whispered in awe. Amaryllis ducked her head with a shy grin.
“I like it. I think I’m gonna try the high-low dress, too.”
She tried on four more dresses, and Jaskier told her she looked gorgeous in every single one of them. Amaryllis groaned as she plopped down next to him on a pouf.
“You always say I look beautiful in everything, Papa.”
“But that’s the truth! No matter what you’ll pick, you’ll be the most beautiful bride.”
Kate disappeared to find some accessories to go with the dresses. Amaryllis waited until she was out of sight, then she turned to Jaskier with a look that indicated she was about to say or ask something potentially uncomfortable. Jaskier knew that look too well. It was the same, head ducked down, nose twitching, jaw slightly wobbling face she gave him when she told him she accidentally broke his acoustic guitar, and when she presented as an Omega and had to ask her father about the birds and the bees. Jaskier braced himself with a sigh, and a free cupcake that he retrieved from the tray next to him.
“I was thinking about checking out the suits, too,” Amaryllis started, choosing her words obviously carefully. “But then I was like, I’d rather have a dress. It’s traditional, and I know we’re both free spirits, but I think I’d like a really traditional wedding, you know? An Omega girl in a big fluffy dress, her Omega father weeping into his tissue in the front row…”
“Hey, I won’t cry in the front row,” Jaskier objected with a huff, “I’ll cry while walking you down the aisle.”
Amaryllis cleared her throat. She fiddled with the tulle on her dress. The clock on the wall ticked loudly in the silence. Jaskier didn’t even dare to breathe.
“What’s wrong, honey?” He asked, scooting closer to her on the pouf. “I feel like you’re trying to tell me something.”
“Well,” Amaryllis squeaked, avoiding Jaskier’s eyes, “iwantmyotherparenttowalkmedowntheaisle.”
Jaskier blinked in utter confusion. Amaryllis turned an alarmingly bright red, which was only accentuated by her snow-white dress.
“What… what was that?”
“Papa.”
“You said it so fast I couldn’t make out a single word!”
“God,” Amaryllis sighed, grinding her teeth in embarrassment, “don’t be angry! Just… I… I said that I want my other father, or mother, I don’t know? To… to walk me down the aisle… you know, all traditional…”
Jaskier was very glad he was already sitting, otherwise he would have probably collapsed on the floor. He waited for Amaryllis to reveal it was just a joke. For several, uncomfortable moments, Amaryllis stared at Jaskier, chewing on her lip. Jaskier stared right back, his brain drawing a complete blank page.
“Honey…” Jaskier squeaked out, “you know exactly I don’t know who that is.”
“But, maybe there’s a chance we could find them?” Amaryllis asked hopefully. “I was thinking a lot about this, lately. I would be really happy if we managed to find out who it is, so they could be there, too. I don’t know… maybe you still have some phone numbers? A hunch? Anything? It’s just… it would be nice.”
Jaskier let out a deep sigh. It’s been literal years since Amaryllis has brought up this subject. With each passing year, as she has gotten older, it has gotten easier to explain: it was the worst when she was still a little child, not understanding why everyone had two parents while she only had her Papa. It was even worse with her overhearing all those nasty gossips about how Jaskier was such a lowlife Omega, sleeping with everyone and having bastard children. When she was a little older, Jaskier could give her a vague explanation on how her other parent left, and how they were unfortunately not coming back. Amaryllis was already a teenager when Jaskier eventually revealed the truth that he had absolutely no idea who the other parent was. He didn’t give her all the details about how he was definitely enjoying his youth. He was a pretty hedonistic young Omega who gladly shared his heats and non-heats with many, many… many people. He didn’t tell her about his short-lived, heartbreaking romances and everlasting loves that only lasted for about a week. She was a smart child, she managed to put the pieces together anyway.
So, Amaryllis stopped pushing for an answer a long time ago, accepting the explanation that Jaskier didn’t know. It felt like a bucket of icy water was poured straight over his head when she, twenty years old and ready to get married, brought this up again.
“Look,” Jaskier told her softly, reaching for her hand, “I know this is going to be your big day, and trust me, I would give my left arm to make sure everything could go exactly as you wanted, including a full set of parents if that’s what would make you happy, but unfortunately… I can’t give you that. I’m sorry.”
“Hey,” Amaryllis squeezed his hand gently, “I didn’t say that to make you feel guilty. This isn’t your fault. I just… I guess I reminisced a little, and I daydreamed a little, and… when I imagine my big day… I see someone else there. With you.”
“Well,” Jaskier forced a grin onto his face, deciding to hide the sudden pain that flared up inside him with humor, like so many times before- the only way he managed to survive the heartbreak, the loneliness and the hopelessness he has felt through his life. That was the only way he could get through the pregnancy alone, that he could get through raising a child alone. The only way he could protect Amaryllis from feeling that pain.
“It seems like you’ll have to make do with your old, single father.”
“You’re not old,” Amaryllis reminded him with a laugh. “You had me when you were about my age. You’re still rockin’ and you’re still smokin’.”
“Such flattery. I assume the dress you want is really expensive, then?”
Amaryllis laughed and gave him a tight hug. Jaskier hid his face in her neck so she couldn’t see the way his smile faded.
Kate returned with the accessories amidst many apologies for going away for so long. She took Amaryllis with her again to try the jewelry with the dress so they could settle for the best option. There was an uncomfortable, churning sensation inside Jaskier’s stomach when he was left alone.
The last thing he expected was this. The idea that Amaryllis has been thinking about this again, that she might have felt sad over not having her other parent there shattered Jaskier. He never wanted to see his daughter sad, especially because of him. And sure, Amaryllis assured him it wasn’t his fault, but it kinda was, wasn’t it? If he wasn’t such a slut, sleeping with everyone who caught his fancy, this wouldn’t have happened. He could have committed to an actual relationship, bonded with a nice Alpha or Beta or maybe even another Omega, could have gotten married, and now Amaryllis would have a beautiful wedding with all her family there, because if Jaskier did that, his mother wouldn’t have disowned him, either. All he had to offer his daughter was his stupid self, a tiny inn, and a herd of goats that he also inherited from his aunt.
He looked into the golden-framed mirror on the wall and sighed at his reflection. He looked younger than his age, something he was very proud of, but when he looked closer, into his own eyes, he’s seen the burden of leaving his careless youth behind.
He spotted a veil on the hanger by the mirror. The ache in his chest amplified. He turned around, quickly checking that no one saw him, then he took the veil off the hanger. He turned it around in his hand, running his fingers over the thin lace. It felt heavy like lead as he put it on his head and checked his reflection again.
You could have had this, a voice inside his head that sounded suspiciously like his mother reminded him, if you weren’t such a loose, immoral Omega.
Jaskier cursed and took the veil off, putting it back on the hanger as quickly as he managed. No, he would not let his guilt consume him. He needed to be strong for his daughter. This was about Amaryllis and her beautiful future, not about him and his tragic past.
Jaskier could only hope Amaryllis would forget about her mysterious other parent.

Songbird Shenanigans // Charlie Gillespie
IN WHICH: The reader will routinely sneak away from her band/hotel to continue her tour shenanigans in parking garages. A way for the young star to return to the stupid years where the concert venue was a car and the mic was the steering wheel. As each city comes and goes with the tour, one thing never changes, driving to parking garages to scream songs at the top of your lungs.
Warnings: Swearing, Mamma Mia songs (oops), and fluff
Words: 4.0k (with lyrics included)
A/N: There’s something endearing about Charlie randomly going a stranger in a duet and dance without a care. This was loosely inspired by the chaotic live they did when Jeremy and Charlie stayed at Owen’s place. I loved Charlie’s tropical shirt giving Animal Crossing vibes.

A moment you had desired for a while finally came around in Oklahoma City during the free day between the two concerts. The pure quiet away from the interviews, photoshoots and demanding life of a musician. Yet despite wanting this time, you definitely felt bored, which only meant one thing.
A new video for your followers as you had done since the beginning of your successful career. Back before, you had the prominent following you had; now you would travel singing in your car, and then one video got viral. That elevated your following until you had signed a record deal with your brand new agent.
A series was then born of driving at night to the parking lots and garages in the city you temporarily visited. You'd park and sing any suggested songs from a previous video for an hour to see if a fan could find you. It was a fun game you had developed.
Y/N Y/L/N: Another installment of Songbird Shenanigans. From 9pm to 10:30pm, I'll be somewhere in Oklahoma City. Come find me for the prize!
Your agent both hated and loved the series as it brought attention to your career and songs but also was a hazard during the tour. The risk of losing your voice made your agent nervous, but the positives outweigh the negatives.
"What song are you doing?" Maddie asked from her chair in your hotel suite with a ratty book in her hand. Her rich dark hair pulled up in a high bun with a few pieces of bangs pulled down to hang free.
You didn't know if you could do what you do if you didn't have Maddie by your side as your singing partner and chief stylist. Maddie also always knew without looking on social media when you had a new installment coming.
"My most requested video is Train Wreck by-"
"James Arthur." Maddie snickered with her grey eyes pinned to the page she was reading faithfully. The book had seen better days, but it was her absolute favourite one by far and one of the only physical books she had.
"Somehow forgot you had it on repeat for a week straight." You snorted, shoving a hat on your head for warmth. A plain black coat pulled over your arms that matched the warm boots you had chosen, "I'll send you my location."
Maddie waved on hand in response, having known the routine since you first started this fun series. It allowed you a bit of your old life when the concerts you performed was solely in your car with the steering wheel as the microphone.
Judy, your agent, was sitting in the lobby with her binder surrounding her when she looked with a sigh. Without a word, she tossed the keys to the rented car she knew you'd need, so in each city, she rented one. A smile of gratitude shared before you were out the door with your hood up.
"Be careful!" Judy exclaimed just as the sliding doors closed behind you, sending you out in the cold night.
Almost instantly, your cheeks turned a light pink in the cold winter air, even if the walk to the war was short. As requested, the car was a newer model but one that would blend in with other city cars. It made finding you harder, but the windows couldn't be tinted.
"Here's to hoping I get a place with good acoustics." You muttered, starting the hatchback vehicle. Despite the cold winter weather, the road conditions were surprisingly okay, but then again, you were from a small town. Roads were shit in general.
You didn't bother playing music as you used the drive to find a parking garage and warm up your throat. Your vocal coach would have your head if you didn't warm-up, and then Judy would kill you even more.
You lucked out in a parking garage to a building that seemed to be a renovated warehouse with insanely cool windows. The metal was a dark shamrock green with a multitude of small rectangular glass between the metal. The panes swung open upwards in a fascinating design.
"Perfect." You muttered, signalling to turn into the parking garage that was easily accessed and without any trespassing signs. It was desolate, with cars parked here and there in the stalls.
A bright orange Subaru definitely took the cake as the most 'flashy' vehicle among the more nondescript ones. Not that it caught your attention when you lowered your windows marginally while simultaneously clipping the phone onto the dash. Immediately you double-checked for any apparent signs to your location before declaring it safe; with a tap of your finger, your Instagram live began.
"Welcome to another part of our Songbird Shenanigans. This time I'm in Oklahoma City for a two-day concert. The most requested song is Train Wreck by James Arthur."
Laying in the silence
Waiting for the sirens
Signs, any signs I'm alive still
I don't wanna lose it
I'm not getting through this
Hey, should I pray? should I pray
A natural instinct of closing your eyes as you got more into the music occurred. Your voice belted into the garage beautifully. Tons of comments appeared in the insta live chat of both supportive and haters.
username3: I suggested this song!!!
username88: Your voice goes perfectly with the song.
The song came to an end quicker than you would have liked since it was definitely one of your favourites to sing.
Unchain the reactions, I'm not ready to die, not yet
Pull me out of the train wreck
Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out
Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out
No action was helped back from taking a swig of water from the reusable bottle you had brought along. Your eyes scoured the comments for more suggestions or things that stuck out.
"Why don't you include hints in the Songbirds?” You read out from the comment section with a smile barely held back, "Why would I? You all know that my windows are often down, and even the most unoriginal locations have tells. There's been a few people that have found me."
Username13: I think I know where you are (insert heart emoji)
↳Username63: username13 where?! How do you know?
↳Username13: jatp is streaming all day and the guys are in a car. Same background
Your eyes read the short but interesting conversation between the two different accounts on something called jatp? Whatever that was.
"Any other requests?" You asked, scrolling through the suggestions, "Sing something from jatp? I'm sorry, guys, but I have no clue what that is? Is it a movie? OH! It's a show. My bad."
The comment section was flooded, "Okay! Let me look up the lyrics and the melody!"
Tumblr media
Three males: a blonde and two brunettes, walked between the rows of both occupied and unoccupied parking spots. The blonde wearing a black t-shirt with BEANS written across the chest and the brunette with short slicked-back hair crowded the middle guy. All three pairs of eyes watched the iPhone stream the television series.
"I call shotgun!" Owen spoke as the car in question came into view, "We gotta Livestream in the car again!"
"Your neighbour sucks, man." Charlie groaned, nudging Jeremy to unlock the car when the older man hesitated.
"If we're going live in the car, we should cover your license plate," Jeremy suggested to a resounding agreement.
Charlie drove an obscenely vibrant coloured car that could be picked out quickly, so he didn't need any help in broadcasting his location. Owen grabbed the book from the passenger seat to angle it to lean against the plate.
"Done!" Owen called, racing back to climb into the car with his friends. The blonde-haired man bounced in his seat as the owner of the vehicle set up the screen.
In seconds, the streaming went from the app on the phone to the car's built-in screen to the boys' delight. In a moment of what some may call brilliance and others stupidity Owen went live on Instagram with Charlie joining him swiftly.
"Do you rem-"
Username76: Songbird chose a shitty location.
↳Username 39: Or we just got a Hail Mary hint
"Who is Songbird?" Charlie questioned, leaning closer to his friends in the front, catching a few comments.
The comments were mixed among other unrelated ones, but all had Songbird, Shenanigans or both words. The mystery was so intriguing the boys turned down the show to scour the comments for tidbits.
"Wait? Do you hear that?" Jeremy questioned, scanning the parking garage with his blue, green eyes. Soon his head was sticking out the window, "Someone is singing here."
Jeremy's hand turned the key of the car, "Is that-"
"Oh, no." Owen groaned, seeing that specific light appear in Charlie's eyes just as it did each time one of the songs came on. His pink beanie slid around his long blonde locks.
The two guys watched as the second oldest in their group did some kind of shimmy after pushing his phone to Jeremy. Jeremy's hand scrambled to get a grip on the phone as Charlie delved into his love for these songs. Sharing a look, Jeremy and Owen followed the Canadian to a car with a girl singing in the open hatchback car.
(Italics is you! Italics and bold is Charlie and you! Just bold is Charlie!)
When you were lonely, you needed a man.
Someone to lean on, well I understand
It's only natural
But why did it have to be me?
Your eyes remained shut as you neared the middle of the first verse. You completely stopped when a voice joined. Your e/c eyes met the twinkling brown of a handsome guy with the best voice you'd heard in a long time.
Nights can be empty, and nights can be cold
So you were looking for someone to hold
That's only natural
But why did it have to be me?
Your lips parted in a grin as you grabbed the hand being offered to be pulled out of the car; on your way, your hand nudged your phone. Your phone was in a mount attached to the roof of the hatch. When you followed the stranger, the phone turned in perfect view. Your free hand turned to hover over your forehead, legs bending to feign a swoon.
I was so lonesome, I was blue
I couldn't help it, it had to be you and I
Always thought you knew the reason why
Charlie beamed playing being shot by the arrow you pretended to shoot with a grin planted on your own lips. Charlie's hand flirted with your hip as you sashayed around his body from his left to his right. Hand grabbing a first full of his white with light teal with light pink design to tug him chest to chest.
I only wanted a little love affair
Now I can see you are beginning to care
But baby, believe me
It's better to forget me
In turn, Charlie grabbed your wrist to twirl you into his arms straight into an impressive dip with the toe of your shoe pointed to the far wall. Your fingers just barely caressing the rough paved lot.
"I'm Charlie," Charlie murmured during the instrumental between the chorus and the second verse. Your eyes scanned his features with an expression you would later be glad was hidden from the lighting in the garage.
"Y/N." You breathed, clutching his shoulders still low in the dip, hoping subconsciously that your breath was still fresh.
"Wanna finish this?" Charlie spoke, searching your eyes with his own; up close, you could see his eyes were a mixture of colours. You only nodded before he continued singing to the music.
Men are the toys in the game that you play
When you get tired, you throw them away
That's only natural
But why did it have to be me?
"Are you seeing this?" Jeremy whispered to Owen as they watched Charlie literally sweep a stranger off her feet. Owen could only nod as Charlie went into the next verse, still dancing as if he was in Mamma Mia 2.
Falling in love with a woman like you
Happens so quickly, there's nothing to do
It's only natural
But why did it have to be me?
Charlie spun you back away from his body in a graceful twirl your choreographer would be incredibly proud of. The moves you made somehow made sense, with the movements matching the spontaneous duet-er.
I was so lonesome, I was blue
I couldn't help it, it had to be you and I
Always thought you knew the reason why
Once more in his arms dancing, he dipped you once more as you finished the end of the last chorus breathing heavily. The two strangers staring intensely into each other's eyes with an intense look that had tensions in the parking garage.
I only wanted a little love affair
Now I can see you are beginning to care
But baby, believe me
It's better to forget me
"Intense." Owen chuckled as Charlie raised you back onto your feet with a matching grin to yours, "Oh! Look at the comments!"
Username24: Holy shit! They ooze chemistry!!
           ↳Username9: lol, okay Alex.
"You aren't a viewer, are you?" You breathlessly laughed, taking a step away from Charlie as the music faded away.
The equally breathless spontaneous performing partner laughed as well, "I heard the song and hoped for the best."
"Are you Songbird?" Came a voice from a few feet away. Behind the once upon a time stranger stood two males approaching slowly.
"Oh!" You gasped, turning on your heel to see where your phone was pointing, "Well, that's convenient! One moment."
Jeremy and Owen flanked Charlie as you repositioned the phone at the moment with practised precision. You kept the three people out of the shot for privacy reasons.
"There is about ten minutes away from the end of this installment being over. For the first time since we started this series, I had a duet." You playfully laughed, looking over at the trio, "It's completely up to my sudden partner, but would you like to meet your audience?"
Charlie simply shrugged, "Sure. They've seen you be serenaded by a stranger."
A short laugh came from the three individuals around Charlie as he moved into the camera frame with a large smile. As soon as he was in sight, the comment section went nuts, furthering when Owen and Jeremy came into view.
Username1: DREAM COME TRUE
↳Username4: omg jatp in Songbird Shenanigans?? Life accomplished.
You couldn't hold back the snort at the comments you could read quickly as they disappeared after new ones. The three guys couldn't help but chuckle as well.
"I've never seen these guys before. If you could introduce yourselves." You asked the three guests, to which each sent a reassuring smile to your hesitance.
"I'm Charlie Gillespie, and these are my friends Owen Joyner and Jeremy Shada." Charlie took the liberty of introducing both his friends and himself. His heart fluttered at the adorable smile that had appeared on your pretty face.
"I'm afraid this concludes this edition of Songbird." You apologized to the camera as the time passed the allotted hour and a half. The comments turned sad before most of them started sending questions, "I'll let you know when I do another edition! Bye for now!"
Your finger clicked the end button firstly before clicking the save button for when you would upload it to your account later.
"Thank you for doing that. I'm Y/N." You chuckled, shaking hands with Jeremy and Owen, who each grinned back, "So what brought you guys to the parking garage with three phones and a live-action Animal Crossing shirt?"
Amusement was found on all four young adults in the parking garage, pinning a gaze at the material. You had to admit you kinda adored the shirt, or maybe the person wearing it was the reason.
"We're trying to get Julie and the Phantoms to number one again." Owen offered as he displayed the live still going on his phone.
"That's a tv series. That was the second song I did on the live before Charlie joined the little concert." You told the boys all the while aware that thousands of people watched from the phone still streaming.
"The phone's about to die." Owen piped up, catching the single decimal number broadcasting the percentage. Without any prompting, he ended the live to save it solely for the little performance Charlie did.
"Did you save it?" Jeremy asked, lifting on his tiptoes to check the phone Owen had commanded for the last half hour. Like Owen, Jeremy wanted to save it solely for the stellar performance.
"So, how'd this series start?" Charlie questioned, pushing his hands into his pockets, ignoring the subtle glances of his best friend.
"I needed an escape from touring so many cities. It's reminiscent of the days before I was discovered. When my audience was the dials in my car and my family." You half-smiled, recalling all the times you had simply driven around to sing.
"You're a musician?"
"I am. I'm currently on tour for my second album. Every second or third city I'm performing in, I take the rented car to parking lots or garages to sing. I always have a prize for the fans that find me."
"Could I get your number?" Charlie hesitantly questioned. His features twisting with the manipulation of nerves.
His palms had gone clammy enough to inconspicuously wipe them on his legs; this version of Charlie was unfamiliar. Owen and Jeremy had only ever seen him as this bundle of joy and energy, not to say he didn't have his low days, instead of nervous. Owen slipped his fingers behind his back to cross them. He hoped his Canadian friend would get it.
"You don't leak mine, and I won't leak yours." Your e/c eyes twinkled with the brush of Charlie's warm fingers on your own. The new contact waiting for his information, "Maybe we can meet up with each other?"
"I'd love that."
Tumblr media
Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York, Unspecified Date
The sounds of screams and heavy instruments blocked by the unique in-ears explicitly made for your ears alone. You'd heaved, catching a breath after such an energetic song you'd just performed for the sold-out venue. You just jogged to the side for a chug of water as your band switched instruments.
"Are you having fun tonight!" You asked the crowd who had fought tooth and nail for tickets. The crowd screamed back louder than before.
Selling out MSG for completely insane even after touring the country with your band three times. It was still a little jarring, going from a nobody with untapped potential to selling out concerts and very successful albums, in all honesty.
"That's what I like to hear!" You beamed, pushing a strand of your unruly hair away from your face. Your eyes momentarily cast to the side stage with the equipment hiding the crew, "I have a surprise for you. A couple years ago, I had a spontaneous duet partner during one of Songbird Shenanigans. I'd like to invite my fiance Charlie out here."
The crowd went nuts as Charlie wandered towards you from the side of the stage away from Owen, Jeremy and Madison. Charlie's hazel eyes scoured the oceans of your e/c eyes he got to wake up to each morning. Mostly when Julie and the Phantoms had been offered to open for you; to be frank, it was more of an unspoken co-headlining.
"Can we tell?" You asked, keeping the mic covered and away from your body. Your body bounced, waiting for the smile from him.
Charlie nodded, accepting the guitar from one of the crew members. It was a song you had written a few months back. Charlie had memorized the entire piece with the deep adoration he felt for it.
The couple perched on the bar stools brought to the middle of the stage with a secret smile. One that only they and their immediate family understood.
Three months ago, you had sat Charlie down in your home to play him a little song that changed everything.
Charlie placed the last bag of groceries on the counter when he felt arms wrap around his midsection. He immediately knew that it was you welcoming him home from a very short trip to the store. In a swift move, he had manoeuvred you to sit on the counter while he scooched himself between your legs.
"Hi." Charlie breathed, rising to press a kiss against the smooth skin of your cheek, leaving heat in its wake.
"I want your opinion on a song." You burst out, unable to refrain from showing him a song you had been secretly working on. The French Canadian was beyond intrigued by the sudden announcement from his fiance.
"Oh?"
"Come." You coaxed the man from the kitchen to the designated music room filled with instruments of all kinds—even a recent addition of a recording booth in the corner with high-end equipment.
You bypassed everything for the grand piano you didn't play as often as you wished to be able to. Your fingers brushed the ivory keys for a mere second before you began playing the melody.
I, I have known love before
I thought it would no more
Take on a new direction
Still, strange as it seems to be
It's truly new to me
That affection
The smile that grew across Charlie's expressive face was uncapturable from the best of the best; he adored your voice. He had a personal ringtone you had explicitly done for him a few months into the relationship.
I, I don't know what you do
You make me think that you
Will change my life forever
I, I'll always want you near
Give up on you, my dear
I will never
You thrill me, you delight me
You please me, you excite me
You're all that
I've been yearning for
I love you, I adore you
I lay my life before you
I only want you more and more
And finally it seems
My lonely days are through
I've been waiting for you
Charlie's frown, however, faltered as your face ever so slightly paled with trepidation coating your pretty irises. Your voice even quivered with nerves he'd never heard before, but it made sense from the third verse started.
I'll carry you all the way
And you will choose the day
When you're prepared to greet me
I'll be a good mum, I swear
You'll see how much I care
When you meet me
You finished the song with the last note drawn out ever so softly, freezing as the room went quiet once more. This song was definitely vulnerable and personal; you felt naked under Charlie's silent stare.
"You're really?" Charlie breathlessly chuckled, his wide eyes screaming disbelief.
After a few years together with an engagement ring on both of your fingers after you had both proposed to each other, with the relationship very serious, you two had decided to stop contraceptives and let everyone happen if it was too happen.
"Yeah." You laughed as he swept you off the bench into his arms, "We have little Birdie to prepare for."
"I love you so damn much." Charlie choked out, spinning the two of you around in his arms. The smile never fading as he drank in the special moment of learning you had created a life together.
PRESENT
"With the impending arrival of our child, I will be taking a break to prepare. Even though I wouldn't be performing, I will still do Songbird Shenanigans. I'll just have to up my game on staying as hidden as possible." You informed the audience as the song came to an end.
Next thing you knew, you couldn't discern between the crowd and your friends now on stage screaming. You were able to feel Charlie's hand on your barely-there baby bump and his lips pressed against your temple.

Some songs I associate with Shin+Sou and lyric excerpts
Two Atoms In A Molecule - Noah And The Whale
Last night I had a dream we were inseparably entwined \ Like a piece of rope made out of two pieces of vine Held together, holding each other with no one else in mind \ Like two atoms in a molecule, inseparably combined if love is just a game, then how come it's no fun \ And if love is just a game, how come I've never won I guess maybe it's possible, I might be playing it wrong \ And that's why every time I roll the dice I always come undone
Misery Loves Company - Emilie Autumn
I'm not for you \ You're not for me I'll kill you first \ You wait and see You devil undercover You're not a prince \ You're not a friend \ You're just a child And in the end \ You're one more selfish lover Do I need you? \ Yes and no \ Do I want you? \ Maybe so You're getting warm \ You're getting warm \ You're getting warmer, oh, oh, oh Did you plan this all along \ Did you care if it was wrong Who's getting warmer now \ That I'm gone
Lay All Your Love On Me - Mamma Mia
It was like shooting a sitting duck \ A little small talk, a smile and baby I was stuck I still don't know what you've done with me \ A grown up woman should never fall so easily I feel a kind of fear, when I don't have you near \ Unsatisfied I skip my pride, I beg you dear [chorus] Don't go wasting your emotion \ Lay all your love on me \ Don't go sharing your devotion \ Lay all your love on me
Fell In Love With An Android - Simon Curtis
So deluded that it kind of constituted as a \ Kind of charm I never really thought you could bring me any harm \ Ooh, I couldn't be more wrong Ooh, why did I wait so long to go \ Can't believe I thought I loved you Fell in love with an Android baby \ Playing games with a toy that played me The electricity is easy I'm told \ So where'd you ever learn to be so cold? Nothing in your eyes that I can see \ Time to shut the power down and let me be Try to play it like you think you're something so hot \ Hate to say it, but I'd rather fuck a robot

"what"
"you got it," he says exited
"omg" I get tears in my eyes as we hug damn I'm gonna nail this fucking part
-
after months of hard work, it's finally the opening night and I must say I am so fucking nervous like I knew Regina could be mean sometimes but my role was like well I guess you'll see for yourself
-
we start the first number and I spot Tom sitting on the front row like a little happy puppy this was so different from any other role... I like it
the first scene with me starts with me standing on a cafeteria table also a scene where you get what kind of type Regina is
"Regina George is the queen bee She's always dressed up She always wins Spring Fling Queen We're just drones who work for her Then die" Barrett says
"My name is Regina George And I am a massive deal Fear me, love me Stand and stare at me And these, these are real I've got money and looks I am, like, drunk with power This whole school Humps my leg like a chihuahua I'm the prettiest poison you've ever seen I never weigh more than one-fifteen My name is Regina George And I am a massive deal I don't care who you are I don't care how you feel" I sing in character
I quickly glance at tom who is wide-eyed as I try my best not to break character from laughing
the other girls sing their parts
-
sometime after it's time for my sing with Kyle which the scene where I'm in a rather flashy costume
"Yes, I look perfect Ice Queen, that's what they see It's what they expect from me But it's all show" "Face it, you used me You saw my sexy clothes My supermodel pose But did you know?" "Was I a game to you? Was I way too cool? I truly cared Was I the fool?" "It's fine for you It's fine to flirt It's fine 'Till someone gets hurt 'Till someone gets hurt!" "Feel my heart beating? I'm just like her or you People forget I'm human too Yes, they do that" "This is performance This is all self-defence I thought you had the sense To see through that" "Was I too proud of you? Was I too cold and forbidding? And you chose her over me Are you kidding? Poor little me All trapped in this fabulous show You could set me free But if you wanna go It's fine for you It's fine to play And God you're hot Why do you even wear a shirt?" "It's fine!" we sing "Damn you're fine!" kyle sings
"Damn you're fine!" I sing
"And It's fine!" Kyle and I sing "Until someone gets... 'Till someone gets hurt! 'Till someone gets hurt!"
we finish the song with a kiss
-
and finally, it's time for my big number... world burn the scene where I'm in a tight black outfit and throwing papers everywhere
"My name is Regina George And I am a massive deal I will grind you to sand Beneath my Louboutin heels" "This is what I get for helping Helping someone lame fit in Cady heron, enjoy your temporary win" I sing as I walk on the stage "My name is Regina George "Regina is a fugly cow." Hey cady, how do you like me now? I wanna watch the world burn, I got the gasoline I wanna watch the world burn and everyone get mean I wanna watch the world burn, I got the gasoline I wanna watch the world burn and everyone get..." "I'm just so upset, Mr Duvall. I found it in the girls' bathroom. I mean the things it says about me. The things it says about all of us" I say as I do a very bad fake crying "Is this true? Rachel hamilton fills her inhaler with vodka? Does that work? Ms Norbury is a sad, old drug pusher? What does this say? Caitlyn caussin has what?" Rick says as he looks in the burn book "Hairy nips," I say "Good lord. Don't worry, we will find out who did this" "There are only three girls in the school who aren't in it" "Can you give me names?" "Cady, time to watch your back Cady, time to turn and walk Because you took me down" I sing
"But you didn't finish me off" "My name is Regina George And in case you're keeping score Cady may have won the battle But I will win the world war I wanna watch the world burn" "Trang Pak is a grotsky bi-otch!" ensemble sings "I got the gasoline!" "Ms Norbury is a drug pusher!" ensemble sings "I wanna make the world burn" "Janis is a space dyke!" "That's original "Damian Hubbard is too gay to function." It's only okay when I say it!" Barrett says "Wait, only cady could have written that," Grey says "Regina is a fugly cow Regina is a fugly cow Who wrote this? Who wrote this"
Who wrote this
Who wrote this" ensemble sings
"I wanna watch the world burn I got the gasoline! I wanna watch the world burn And everyone could see" I sing as I walk in on the stage in a new outfit "So mean!" "Mean!" I quickly glance at Tom who's mouth is wide open in shock "So mean!" "Mean! I wanna watch the world burn" I sing "Who wrote this? Who wrote this?" "I wanna watch the world burn Mean! I wanna watch the burn" I finish off the song
-
after some time the show is done and after I'm out of my costume I find Tom
"so what did you think," I ask as he picks me up
"you were amazing babe, I'm in shock like I knew you were amazing but that was so good, I'm seeing it again"
Hope it was what you Imagined

Summary: This chapter will be about Poppy and MC, with Poppy having the role of Sam from Mamma Mia. After this I will be writing the endings, where I will write about MC’s future with Chloe, Veronica and Poppy. Trying to give all the stans what they want. Hopefully, I nailed Poppy’s character. Please tell me what you thought.

Play I HAVE A DREAM.
•You were making your way around the island after being dropped off by Veronica, and as you were exploring the many sights to be seen, a small little house catches your attention. You make your way towards it and enter, the place may look run down and old but you can already imagine how it would look if a little bit of TLC was used to build it up again.
• You can already imagine it as a popular hotel for people to visit, boosting the popularity of the island and hopefully increasing the economy for the people who lived there.
• There was a staircase and out of curiosity, you decide to go up and explore upstairs, it was dusty. The house clearly hasn't been used or cleaned for years. In all your excitement, you slide down the staircase which causes it to fall. Letting an awkward giggle you run away, hoping no one heard you.
• As you were making your way towards a small barn, the rain starts to pour and you can't help but think about what Veronica said. "A storm is coming." You just laugh in delight, as you run in the rain. You reach the stables and the building begins to creak and you're about to make your way out until you hear the sound of an animal in panic.
• You go in to see a panicking horse and seeing that you wouldn't be able to calm it down by yourself, you quickly reassure the horse that you'll be back with help. "I'll be back, I'm just coming to get someone to help, stay there okay."
• You quickly run outside, desperately hoping for anyone to pass by in the storm. You yell out desperately "I NEED HELP, ANYONE!", hoping to attract anyone's attention.
• You hear the sound of a motorbike, and a blonde woman stops in front of you. "Is there anything I can do to help?" she says and you're immediately awed by her beauty, even with her hair a mess from the rain and her clothes dripping, she still manages to look gorgeous. Her brown eyes glimmer in anticipation, as if eager to help.
• You quickly explain that you need her help to take care of the horse, she immediately follows you inside the stables, and the two of you carefully approach the horse, making sure not to startle it.
• "Well this is gonna be easy, I'm a veterinarian." she says and you're immediately relieved as you ask "Really?" She just looks at you with a wry smile and as she says "No, I'm not, I'm an architect." You just shake your head and say "Okay, just talk to horse gently, to make them feel at ease." She gives you an affirmative nod as she gently calms the horse down. "This would be easier if I was calm" she says.
• You take the reins off and immediately open the gate to let the horse out from the shaky building. You can't help the relieved sigh that comes out as you get out safely. You look at the stranger and say "Thanks, also it's nice to meet you. I'm Rosie Hughes by the way."
• She looks at you as she flashes you a charming smile "Poppy Min-Sinclair, the pleasure is mine Miss Hughes." The two of you smile at each other, and you suggest that you find a place for the horse to stay.
• The two of you decide to tour around the island together, and you both make your way to market, and you're looking for new clothes. Poppy makes conversation by asking "What brings you here?" and you just shoot her a smile as you say "I don't know, I just wanted to explore the world and this place is absolutely beautiful. Plus I wanted to piss off my mother, she's always touring." Poppy looks at you with something akin to understanding as she says "Your mother sings?" You nod at her. "Yes, with a voice as sweet as sugarcane."
• She sees a dress and is about to tell you "This will suit -" she's cut off as you appear in front of her wearing overalls. You laugh at her as you say "You really, don't know me at all."
• The two of you head down to a local pub, and you're immediately entertained by the band that is playing. "I absolutely, love this place, oh my God." you say as Poppy just gives you a questioning look that says "Are you serious?!"
• The two of you start to talk and you talk about your personal lives and Poppy asks "Your mother wouldn't miss you?" You just look and smile at her. The smile not quite reaching your eyes as you say "She's not that kind of mother." Poppy looks apologetic and she's about to apologise when you cut her off. "Don't be sorry, it's okay I'm not angry at her, it's not a sob story."
• Poppy tells you that her whole life has been planned for her. "I'm only here because I wanted to get away and finally achieve freedom. I'm not going to be able to stay forever, but hopefully, I find something to make me stay."
• Poppy hesitates and looks like she's about to say something important but you were already distracted by the band finishing their song. "That was amazing! I loved it!" you turn to the bar and speak to the lady. "Are you the owner?" she just points forward as she says "My son the owner, because no one else let his band play."
• The owner approaches you and says "Thank you, how do you like the island?" You practically vibrate with excitement and Poppy can't help but think that you're cute. "I love it here, it's very relaxing. I also love your band, you guys are amazing. I would love to sing with you guys and my friends from home." He looks at you as he says "You sing?"
• You're about to shyly deny, until Poppy interjects and says "Yes she sings, sweet as sugarcane." The man looks at you expectantly as he hands you the microphone. "Sing." he says and you're flabbergasted "Just like that? I need time to prepare." He just replies with "Here on island, everything just like that."
Play Andante Andante.
• As soon as you get up on the stage, your voice starts to fill the room, and Poppy's eyes are drawn to you. The whole pub becomes more lively as people start to sing along with you, and you're happy because you love singing. After, he says "You're hired!" as everyone claps.
• After that day, you and Poppy get a little bit closer, the two of you got out for long walks basking in the moonlight, where you both have your first kiss. The funny thing is that your first kiss was also in front of where you met.
• The two of you decide to go on a date, Poppy rowing, and you're off to go to on a picnic. For someone so small, Poppy can be strong. "I don't think you know what you're doing Pop." Poppy just laughs at you as she says "I'm hoping that if I keep rowing forward we'll bump into land. There's another island over there, I was hoping we might go for a picnic." You look at her, curious "Where are we going to get the food?" and she just says "I was hoping we can catch it on the way."
• Your expression turns serious, and you struggle to form the words until a sudden burst of courage overtakes you. You clear your throat. "Uh, we should probably talk about last night. I don't usually do that, I mean hardly ever. Well, sometimes. A bit recently in fact. But, on the whole, not." Poppy looks at you, clearly amused by your sudden shyness. "I thought it was miraculous." she says with a gentle smile.
• You bite your bottom lip shyly as you say "Um, I'm gonna say something, and you're probably going to think that I'm crazy but you should shut up as I'm saying it." Poppy tries to cut you off but you just keep going "I want to stay here, and I think you should too. I think we should choose to do something radical, wonderful, and amazing. To live in this extraordinary place with someone miraculous."
• Poppy looks at you entranced and you notice the way she was staring. You shake your head slightly as you say "I told you, you'd think it was crazy." Poppy makes eye contact, sadness hidden in those brown eyes "I just don't think it's that simple. Nothing usually is."
• "Everything is. When you break it down." you say voice unwavering, and Poppy looks away and it's clear that she's thinking. She chuckles as she says "I don't think it's crazy."
• Poppy starts to take photos of you, and she knows that she's become smitten in the short time you've spent together. The way the two of you look at each other with such affection in your eyes makes it obvious that you adore each other.
Play THE NAME OF THE GAME.
NSFW UNDER CUT
• Whilst Chloe was soft and sweet, Veronica passionate. Poppy was everything you wanted, the two of you knew exactly what the other needed and it was addicting. She was like a drug you can't quit or get enough of.
• The two of you spent the night together. For someone who looks as elegant and proper as Poppy, you're surprised to know that she can be quite the little minx in bed.
• It starts off with a bang, both of you can feel electricity with each kiss, neither of you know who kissed who first. The kisses start off slow and gentle as if you're just getting used to each other. Your hands find their way to the small of her back, and you start to circle your thumb against her.
• Poppy's moans into the kiss, and you're left wanting more because Poppy sounds so good. Her hands start to wander, and she reaches your lower back, which she gives a firm squeeze and you can't help the groan that escapes your lips. Poppy looks at you with half-lidded eyes and pupils blown as she starts to strip you until all that's left is your underwear.
• She deftly moves a hand to cup your breast, whilst the other unhooks your bra. Her mouth trails down from your jaw to your breasts where she nips and sucks at every patch of skin she can reach. You both stumble into bed, and Poppy's mouth finds your nipple, which she gently starts to tease with her tongue.
• The sounds that come out of your mouth is pure sin, a mixture of muffled moans and screams as you cover your mouth with the back of your hand. Poppy notices and she's quick to take your hand away. "I want to hear every noise you make. Don't be shy." she says huskily and it sends a wave of arousal down your inner thighs. This causes you to rub your thighs together. Poppy notices the moist fabric, and her fingers trail down to touch the strap of your underwear. You're already left whining at the contact because you want her to touch lower.
• "What is it that you want Rosie? Do you want me to touch lower?" she says voice dropping an octave. You're whining mess underneath her, and you know there's no point in playing hard to get so you just nod your head so fast it could have caused a normal person whiplash.
• Poppy moves her hands lower, and she removes your underwear. Her fingers find your clit and she presses the pad of her fingers on it. Desperate for any kind of friction your hips grind against her. Poppy holds your hips down as she makes a displeased noise. "Tsk tsk, Hughes, I'm in charge, you're only allowed to moved when I tell you to." Your head is spinning and you're, really desperate but you follow her wishes.
• Poppy starts off by teasing you, slowly tracing her fingers on your pussy, and as she feels how wet you are, she lets out a satisfied groan."You're so wet for me, how much did you want to do this?" she says as she slowly starts to insert her index and middle finger into your core.
• A sob escapes your lips and you have to bite your lips to stop moving against her finger. Poppy notices how needy you look and she says "What do you want me to do? Tell me clearly." Your voice sounds shaky as you stutter out the words she wants to hear "Poppy, please I need you to move your fingers, I'm begging you please."
• Poppy's eyes light up as she hears you beg, suddenly she leans forward to kiss your neck. "Anything my baby asks for she gets." She starts to thrust her fingers in and out at a steady pace, she can see your face contorted into a look of pleasure. "Does that feel good?" she asks and your answer is only to pull her in her closer. She gives you a noise of approval as she works you up faster. When you're close Poppy stops and you whine.
• She looks down at you and says "Grind" and you follow. You start to grind on her fingers as she thrusts it inside you. You can feel your muscles go taut, and your vision begins to turn white. Your body starts to spasm, as you reach your climax, letting out a scream as you do so, only to be muffled by Poppy kissing you.
• Poppy looks satisfied until she sees the troubled look on your face. "What's wrong? Did that not feel good?" she asks, worried. You just shake your head at her. "I want to make you cum too." Poppy flushes and she's about to deny you until she feels you tugging on her arm. "Sit on my face, princess."
• Poppy's whole body turns red and you laugh as she settles herself down on your face. "This is gonna be fun" you say as you lap at Poppy's cunt, eyes rolling back at the taste. Poppy's hands make their way to your hair where she tugs. "Fuck you taste so good Poppy. I could get addicted." you say as you let Poppy grind her hips against your mouth. You tease her entrance and flick her clit with tongue. The noises that escape Poppy are intoxicating, you don't think any song can compare." You can tell Poppy's about to cum when you hear her ragged breathing and her hips jerking faster.
• Poppy climaxes with a loud moan, so much so you're pretty sure everyone in the vicinity heard you. Poppy falls forward and has to put her hand against the wall to keep herself from falling. You catch all of her cum with your tongue, and it tastes uniquely of Poppy and you know its something you can't forget.
• Poppy gets off you and as she lies down on the bed, you can see her chest heaving and Poppy gasping for air. The two of you share a fond look, as you both bask in the afterglow. After a few minutes, Poppy drifts off to sleep and you know that you're falling for her really hard.
Play KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU.
• The next day, as you make your way to the kitchen to make some breakfast a journal catches your attention. Curious, you open it to see a photo of Poppy with a man and a ring on her finger. Anger and rage fill you as you wake Poppy up to confront her.
• Poppy wakes up with a jolt. "When were you going to tell me that you were engaged?!" you yell angry tears falling from your eyes. Poppy looks at you and say "I can explain, please let me talk." You look at her, silent fury visible in your eyes. "Yeah you can talk, I have three questions for you and you're going to answer them for me" you say as calmly as you can.
• "Are you engaged to that wonderful man?" and she replies with "Yes." voice shaky as if she's scared to lose you. "And did you tell me about it?" you ask. She shakes her head at you "No" and you just throw your hands in surrender as you say "And did you seriously think that I was going to forgive you?" you say as you turn away from her. "Wait, please I can explain!" she pleads and you're done "No more talking, go!"
• Poppy packs her things as she gets ready to leave the island. She sees you as leaves, your figure fading in the distance, and she knows she blew it. She doesn't think that she can love someone else the way she loved you.

Hi my bbs! I’m so in love with this Greece idea. I literally watched mamma Mia yesterday- that is my fantasy. Like the music, the small island, the romance. I love it.
Haha I guess we both have parents who like to be at the airport three hours early lol.
Hehe yes, everybody is just barely awake and just holding onto each other. Security is annoying,- fun story. Every single time that I go through security the machine always beeps and they make me go through that machine and then they always pat me down in the weirdest places like one time they were like we need to pay down your shoulder. What can I possibly have in my shoulder area? I don’t get it. Ryan would probably chirp me when I get beeped but then he gets beeped as well and needs to be patted down lol . It depends on which country you are at, like some securities require you to take off shoes, some don’t.
When i go on trips w my family we check in our bags but since we’d be going solo, I usually have a big carry on and a big backpack lol. I tend to overpack wbu? I need my extra outfits. So after that, we all find the gate and everyone goes their own way. Like you cuddled up w Jamie and being adorable. Kesh is sleeping on Kirby and I’m getting coffee. Hehe yes getting all our passports and getting checked in would be so chaotic . You and Jamie are lucky that Ryan and I are barley functioning yet so the chirps haven’t started. There would be soooo many snacks. Awww Quinner let’s me keep his beanie. Thank you. Also what do you travel in at airports, do you dress fancy or casual?
Hehe Jamie paying Cozzy $50 to switch seats with him 😂 “Dylan come on” “no Jamie I’m comfortable” “I’ll give you 50 if you switch with me” “fine” lol.
Planes usually have TVs on the seats so we will all be watching movies and Dylan and Jamie can cuddle up to you. Awwww. Kesh and Kirby are just in their own bubble #couplegoals. Nobody is bothering them.
Yes brigid, me, quinner and Ryan will be sitting behind you on the flight. Ly. Quinner is immune to coffee so he passes out real quick and since I love his hair I get to play w it :). The rest off the boys have just passed out.
After take off and we have already settled in for a few hours. I’ve realized that the flight from Can to Greece is about 10-11 hours so we are in for a long flight lol.
Okkk so it’s pretty quiet for the first 2 hours and now some of the boys have woken up.
Brigid + dyl+Jamie: at the start both of them are awake and are excited to sit with you for 10 hours. They hold your hand during take off. You start off with watching a movie but in hour and a half in dyl falls asleep, and you see him in an uncomfortable position so you rest his head on your shoulder or lap and play w his hair. Jamie is still awake but is slowly falling asleep but he wants to spend some time with you, but that doesn’t happen for a long time and he passes out as well and you also move him into a comfy position. After a bit, you all wake up for food and are just cuddly together :)) ooo another thought. Jamie trying to braid your hair to keep himself occupied 🥺
Kirby +kesh: since kesh slept in the airport and a bit on the flight she is making sure that Kirby sleeps a bit. So he’s just leaning on her, and she’s watching a movie or something. Just totally chill and taking care of each other. We love to see that.
Then me quinner and Ryan. Since Quinner falls asleep real quick which I don’t mind since he’s cute and I’ve to play w his hair. Ryan and I are just playing a card game lol. We a bit chaotic because we don’t like to lose, but we become quieter once we realize that the boys around us have fallen asleep. Ryan and I unfortunately will be chirping you quietly Brigid. It’s good entertainment. Since Quinner is still asleep, Ryan and I just listen to music together but also get up a lot so we will be annoying each other hehe.
Do you like airplane food? I don’t mind it, but it’s not the best thing ever so hence the mountain of snacks that quinton and Braden have bought. I’m constantly stealing snacks from them since quinton braden and let’s say Dylan or Peyton are in the row behind mine lol.
Hope you enjoy so far. I’ll be doing a pt 3 for when we touch down.
Xo Lexi💗
yes i am so so in love with this idea, like with the small island and the romance. but anywaysss here’s another long post
haha yep everyone’s barely awake and we’re all holding on to each other bc we don’t want to lose anyone lmao. but somehow ryan gets lost and we don’t realize til we’re about to go through security so we have to facetime him to help him come fine where we are. and then once he gets there we can go through security and you get beeped so ryan is chirping you sm, but then he gets beeped too so we both make fun of him for it lmao
i usually barely pack anything, but it depends how long the trip is going to be. but i usually just bring a couple pairs of shorts and a couple tshirts and hoodies and then mix and match them throughout the vacation. plus i’ll be stealing jamie’s and dyl’s clothes the whole vacation so i don’t really need much lmao. anywaysss so then we find our gate and everyone sets their stuff down. and then “quinner how do you have more shit than me? i literally have half my closet” bc you didn’t realize how much stuff he has til he sets it down lmao. and then everyone goes off their own ways, me and jamie and kesh and kirby to sleep, and then you and the guys to get coffee and food. and then everyone gets back with soooo much food and you’re wearing quinner’s beanie and we’re scrambling to get the passports we need so they’ll let us on the plane. haha yes thank God you and ryan aren’t awake enough to be chirping me and jamie yet. personally, i wear super comfy clothes to the airport like a hoodie and sweats (but let’s be real that’s my everyday outfit) wbu?
lmao so then we’re on the plane and me and dyl already sat down and so did dylan c. and then jamie’s just begging him to switch and finally he does by bribing him. so then ofc you and ryan see it bc you’re sitting right behind us so you just start chirping jamie sm lol. honestly i find it so funny that you and ryan are always chirping me bc with my friends i’m always the one chirping them and they never chirp me back lol. anywaysssss yes we’re all just watching movies or sleeping, i’m in a row with dyl and jamie with you, quinner, and ryan behind me. and then kesh and kirby are together and we’re just leaving them alone for once bc they’re the parents of the friend group so they deserve some rest lmao. and then most of the guys fall asleep real fast and the rest are watching movies bc we know it’s gonna be a longgggggggg flight
me+dyl+jamie - so we start off watching a movie, idk what but def some kind of action movie, but since dyl didn’t sleep in the airport he falls asleep pretty quick so then i have to move him to a comfy position to start playing with his hair. and then jamie and i are just chilling together and watching the movie, but he’s starting to fall asleep again and i can tell he’s just trying to stay awake so i tell him that it’s ok and that he can sleep if he wants to. so then i have to move him into a comfy position too, so i have two very large hockey players sleeping on me and i can’t move lmao. hehe and then they finally wake up for food (ofc it’s for the food) a couple hours later but they’re still tired and being all cuddly 🥺 but then they make me rewatch the entire movie bc they didn’t get to see most of it lol. and we’d definitely end up playing uno or poker bc i’m amazing at both of those, like my family refuses to play with me, so i would make them play me. and also jamie braiding my hair bc i taught him 🥰
kesh+kirby - so basically they’re the adorable couple everyone wants to be. like kesh making sure kirby sleeps, and then kirby doing the same later in the flight. and just playing with each others hair 🥺 and they’re watching movies together. i really don’t have much to add on to this one besides that they’re a top tier couple
lexi+quinner(+ryan) - so yeah apparently quinner’s immune to coffee bc somehow even after 3 of them he passes out real quick on the plane. so then lexi gets to play with his hair bc she’s wearing his beanie so his hair’s not covered lol. haha you and ryan getting super competitive and getting super loud playing card games and then i have to yell at you to shut up bc everyone’s sleeping. so then you guys get annoyed and start chirping me instead while i’m just trying to watch my movie lmao. and then you guys start walking all over the plane and annoying everyone lol. i would also be joining you guys once dyl and jamie wake up bc i can’t still more than like an hour lmao
i mean i’m fine with airplane food (again we usually fly first class bc of my dad’s points from work so i think it might be better food?) except the snacks like trail mix and stuff they give you on the plane are amazing. but anyways besides that airport snacks are better. so then you keep stealing snacks from peyton and braden and quinton behind you so then i commision you to steal snacks for me too, and then eventually you get annoyed and tell me to get them myself so then i get the guys to throw them over the seats to me and then kesh has to tell us to stop so the other people on the plane don’t get annoyed lmao
ok yes i loved this sm 💖 so excited for part 3!

Summary: Tom was living his dream as a rising star in Hollywood for the past six years. Even though it was everything he ever wanted he missed everything that he left behind. His family back in London. His best friend who’s career had also taken off and though they were roomates they never had time for one another. His first love that was torn apart by a dumbass decision. He wished he could take it all back. All the stupid decisions he made in the past that could have been the other way around if he choose the right choice. What happens when he wakes up one day in the life he should have chosen?
warnings: nervous Tom, kinda fluff, Blythe being a smol bean, um yeah that's about it
word count: 3289
authors note: I feel like everyone of these I have an excuse on why I'm late to post. Well, it’s because I’m a senior in high school who has to apply to a million scholarships so I don't have to worry about student loans, but I’ll survive:) I also am taking three college classes and ironically English is the one that is killing me. I thank you for your patiences and wish me luck. Idk when the next part will come out but don't worry it’s happening. Also you know, just feel free to send me an ask anytime like I don’t mind (PSA this is my favorite look ever pic is definitely not mine)
Tumblr media
After Blythe’s little incident and a good ten minutes of Lennon tending to her daughters small wounds they finally were able to calm her down before making their way back to the party. Tom was still overwhelmed by what happened earlier and it made every worse case scenario run through his mind. It was mostly about how he imagined Lennon finding out. The more he thought about telling her the more he backtracked his plan all together. Tom wasn’t going to tell her today. He knew that for sure, but that didn’t mean he could wait forever. Tom didn’t know exactly how this scenario would play out but he really didn’t want to at the least. He didn’t want Lennon to hate him and he also didn’t want her to act like she forgave him automatically.
He decided he needed to find the right opportunity because that’s what is best for everyone. He needed to wait it out because he still didn’t know if it was permanent, so why would he jeopardize it. If Blythe had come in a few moments later he would be hating himself even more. No matter how much he wondered if Lennon's lips were still as sensational as he remembered them to be. Another part of him wondered if he felt guilty just being so close to having an intimate moment with her how much more of that would build up inside of him.
Lennon brushes the curls out of her daughter's hair one last time before giving her a soft smile, “Are you going to be okay now?” The girl sniffed and nodded watching her mother stand up. Lennon turned to Tom giving him a sorrowful look and it made him panic even more because he knew what it was for.
Lennon and Tom grabbed the food while Blythe trailer behind them as they all walked back outside. Tom noticed more people than he did before, but that was because he just wasn’t paying attention earlier when he walked in with Xio. He saw many faces familiar, new, and old. It made his mind wonder on how the hell he was going to converse with them and still take on the persona of this other Tom. It was easier for him to talk to Harrison and Xio because they knew it wasn’t him. It wasn’t easy to talk with Lennon, but he was comfortable in the small conversations they have had so far.
“Can I go back to playing,” Blythe asked her mother in a more chipper mood looking at a few kids that Tom didn’t recognize.
Lennon nodded looking down at her. Blythe smiled rushing over to them stumbling a little. “Be careful please,” Lennon yelled at her letting out a sigh, “That child is a spitting image of you, I swear.”
Tom looked at Lennon shaking his head, “She’s a hundred percent you.” He meant every word their daughter was definitely a copy Lennon from the short time Tom knew her. Blythe didn’t have to do much to tell Tom that she was Lennon’s daughter because she was so much like her. He didn’t have to think about the fact that she had the same physical features as him but her mannerisms were like her mother’s.
Tom couldn’t remember much from his childhood. Well, he couldn’t remember some things, but he did remember Lennon. She was always so happy and full of energy. She never seemed to slow down and kept him on his toes when he was around her. When something sad would happen she would be back to herself in no time. Blythe proved that to Tom just mere seconds ago when she was a mess and then went straight to her task before she got hurt. It was almost scary how much their personalities were almost the same.
Lennon just scoffed at Tom rolling her eyes, “You only say that because you’re too stubborn to realize she is a girl version of you.”
“You can’t tell me that child who is stopping to pick the dandelion to make a wish is mini me,” Tom asked as he watched the five-year old stopped dead in her tracks looking down at the weed before picking it up and holding it tightly with one hand squeezing her eyes shut as the children rush pass her before blowing it out with the biggest smile on her face.
Lennon let out a laugh, “Well, I remember both of us doing that if I do recall.”
Tom smiled softly, “I’m glad I did because most of my wishes came true.” Well not exactly for him but the other him. You’ve learned by now Tom has always had the biggest crush on Lennon no matter how much he didn’t want to admit it. Lennon liking him back was a shock and he never expected her to return the feelings no matter how many times Haz told him to grow a pair and ask her out. She was too perfect for him
Lennon gave him a sly smile rolling her eyes, “You were always one for cheese Tom.”
Tom shrugged, “What can I say?
“Ah, Thomas, nice to see you not overthinking things,” a thick Irish accent said behind him making the hairs on the back of his neck. Tom knew it anywhere because it was one he had to reason with when was dating Lennon and to be honest it still gave him anioxty to this day.
The funny thing about Lennon’s father, Alex, is that he is the living embodiment of James Bond, Pierce Brosnan’s version, of course. One of his most fond memories of Lennon’s father is when Lennon, him, and Harrison went to see Mamma Mia in the Cinema. He took Lennon home after and he was face to face with the man when walking her to the door swearing he would break out into a song by ABBA at any given moment, or run off with some Meryl Streep doppelgänger to Kalokairi. He would never do that to his wife though. They were far too in love.
It wasn’t that Tom enjoyed Lennon’s father’s company it’s just something you don’t exactly need when you have everything else running through your mind. Having to deal with the man he had been afraid of since he started dating Lennon wasn’t at the top of his list. He respected the man as much as he did his own father, but he knew that in his old life the man probably hated his guts. Tom won’t blame him for it because he would only blame himself. Hell, he already did.
Tom let out a nervous laugh that didn’t have to be forced because his he was so anxious he was scared Alex would sense something off about him because it has happened many times before. The man was like a bloodhound on a search for its owners next game while on an afternoon hunt. “Well I am trying. Being laid back was a goal I have for the new year of my life.”
Lennon's father took a sip of his drink before winking and pointing at Tom mere seconds after the glass left his lips. “That’s always been a good goal of yours. Glad you are finally living up to it.”
“Awe, come on dad, Tom has already been doing that,” Lennon beamed looking at her husband making Tom give her a timid smile. Alex gave him a look that Tom has seen before.
He was having serious déjà vu and it wasn’t the good kind. It was like a happier version of the memory before and Tom was slightly scared. The memory was when Tom asked for her father to approve him asking Lennon for his hand in marriage. They were never engaged when they called things off but Tom wanted to do it so desperately.
It was at a dinner party Nikki decided to hold for something Tom couldn’t quite remember, but he did at the time. It was only them and a few family friends nothing too special; him and Lennon were a few months into their relationship that still felt surreal to Tom.
He knew he needed to talk to Alex and he was scared out of his mind. He feared rejection the most because he knew the man hardly trusted him when he was just friends with his daughter. Lennon was off with Xio and a few other girls that were invited and Tom took the chance. He saw him standing on the porch talking to his father and knew it was now or never.
Taking a deep breath he walked over to the tall Irishman trying his best to not stumble and fall on his face while on the way to ask the man the question that will change his future. As he approached closer Tom had second thoughts but he tried his hardest to hide them so it wouldn’t get the best of him. He was sticking to his plan no matter how much he wanted to not ask all together.
Alex noticed Tom approaching upon first glance and gave him a smile. Tom looked between the two men giving them both a nod while putting his hands in his pockets.
“Lennon leaves you alone for a couple of minutes and you don’t know what to do, am I right Thomas?” Alex said smiling down at him earning a laugh from Dominic.
Tom smiled nervously, “Uh, no, actually I came over here to talk to you about something. I hope I’m not interrupting anything.”
“Not at all,”  Alex reassured him, “This old man was just getting a good point around about London’s traffic laws.”
Dominic shook his head, “I’m sure we can continue our political debate later. Perhaps over another game of golf. I can play easier so I don’t win.”
“I think that’s how you play naturally Holland,” Alex playfully said back earning a laugh from Dominic.
Tom’s father looked towards the kitchen at his mother who was motioning for some assistance from him and let out a site tucking his hands in his pockets, “I suppose the spouse is calling me. Perfect timing for you, Tom.” He gave both his son and Alex a nod before walking off.
Tom gulped, he hoped it wasn’t noticeable to the man standing in front of him because if he knew how terrified he was there was no telling on what he was going to say in their next conversation.
Alex slung his arm around tom’s shoulder patting letting out a chuckle, “Your father is something Thomas. Maybe that's why I like you so much.” It was something said so simple, but it gave Tom a spark of hope and eased his nerves at the thought of Lennon’s father liking him. “Now, my boy, what is it you need to talk to me about,” Alex asked as he lead tom to a secluded part of the Holland’s yard stopping looking down at him as he waited patiently for Tom to speak.
Tom stood a little taller than normal adjusting his jacket as he tried to relax his shoulders, “I, uh… well sir you are well aware I have liked your daughter for a while. Even before we were dating.”
Alex narrowed his eyes at Tom. It wasn’t out of anger, no, far from it. He was doing it because it seemed he was trying to piece together at what Tom was getting at. Alex is an intelligent intellectual that can seem to figure things out quickly and it usually was a problem or a person that he was able to solve. Tom, however, was scared to say anything before the man spoke. He felt like he was constantly trying to impress the man. “I’m well aware of you’re infatuation for my daughter, yes. You two have been dating for a while I hope you’d at least expect me to notice.”
Tom’s eyes widened, “O-of course, Sir. I had no doubt that you are i-in-informed of Lennon and I.”
The man let out another deep throat chuckle, “Now Thomas, you don’t need to act nervous around me we’ve known each other for quite some time and I think it's only fitting for you to not stress so much around me.”
But that was the thing, everything that was going through Tom’s mind at the moment was making him nervous. What he was doing could make or break him and Lennon’s relationship. He was scared shittless to say the least. He cleared his throat hoping years of acting school and control of his voice could help him the situation he was in, “Well, you see, what I’m going to ask might.”
“What would that mean,” Alex asked his voice laced in concern. It caught tom by surprise. It only made tom’s mind wonder to Alex thinking the worst-case scenario. “Is there something you need to tell me Thomas.”
It was that look.
Tom let out a nervous laugh, “I guess I said that wrong and can see where you are interpreting what I’m saying as something negative, but I promise it's not.”
The olderman placed his hands on his hips, “Well go on.”
Tom took a deep breath, “Well let me start out by saying I love your daughter more than anything. I think she is breathtaking and her flaws are just as beautiful as her perfections. Lennon has taught me how to stay grounded through everything and has given me more second chances than I could count. She is amazing and has this presents about her that makes me want to know than I already do about her. Even our relationship started as friends she is always proving that she is the one that I’ve always wanted to have a life with as I grow older. I know your gonna say we are too young and that I’m crazy for even thinking you’d say yes. And believe me I have prepared myself for your rejection-”
“Yes.”
Tom didn’t even processes Alex’s reactions. “I just want you to know that I’m not going to stop asking, because I know she is my future. Not some stupid movie deal or another musical opportuinity… What?”
“Yes, Thomas you have my blessing.”
“You’re serious.”
“I can take it back if you like and say no,” Alex state bluntly.
“No!” Tom said a little too loudly making some of the people close to them turn to the sudden raise of his voice. He cleared his throat, “No. I uh- I just- I didn’t think that would work out so well.”
“For Christ sakes,Thomas, don’t tell me you have flashcards prepared.”
Tom let out another laugh, “Something like that yeah.”
Alex rolled his eyes, “You try too hard. I do trust you, Thomas, because Lennon trust you. Do I think I’m crazy for approving for my daughter to marry so young? Yes, but I rather it be with you than some son of a bitch that I know wasn’t good for her.” He looked over Tom’s shoulder and smiled.
“Hi dad,” he heard from behind him, “Tommy.” The two men didn’t say anything. “Did I interrupt something?” Lennon raised an eyebrow before intertwining her fingers with Tom.
“Not a thing Lennonbug,” Alex said smiling at his daughter proudly before giving the same look to Tom.
This was everything he wanted.
However, he didn’t want to think about the look Alex was giving him right now, “How have you been improving Thomas?”
Tom’s palms were sweaty as Lennon gripped his arm. This wasn’t him being scared shitless asking her father to marry her. This was him being scared shitless on what to say to the man in front of him in an opposite way. “Just… going with the flow…” Tom mentally cursed himself because he would never say that.
Both of them gave Tom an odd look before looking at each other. Before either one of them could speak on Tom’s choice of words the voice of Nikki came from the front porch, “Okay everyone lunch is ready. Let’s hurry and eat before Harry dies of starvation.” Before everyone could trample over to the plastic table outside that was filled with a full buffet Nikki stopped them, “But before we do so we should congratulate Tom for achieving all that he has. I’m proud of you for blessing me with the two most adorable children and the best daughter in law a mother could ask for.”
Tom smiled at his mother nodding in appreciation placing a hand on Lennon’s back. “Thanks Mum,” there was a slight pause as if everyone expected him to say something else, “What are we all standing around for let’s eat, I’m famished.”
The guests cheered before making there way to the table. Blythe ran up to Tom grabbing a hold of his had pulling him towards the crowd of people waiting in line, “Come on Daddy we need to hurry up if you want to get something to eat.”
Lennon laughed at the little girl, “Hang on little bird we need to wait for our turn. There are still going to be quite a bit of food left by we get to the table.” She turned to Tom, I’m going to get Eli and make sure you don’t put too much on her plate. We don’t need the incident we had at the twins party. As for you,” she turned to her daughter, “ You need to at least have a few vegetables on your plate if you want any cake.”
“Okay, Mummy,” Blythe let out another annoyed groan tugging Tom’s had more. Making him
practically stumble to the line of family and friends.
The party unfolded like any other everyday gathering with Tom able to avoid questions his brothers threw at him throughout lunch. Most of which were covered by Xiomara, and the slight uncomfort he felt when Lennon got up to go get something from the kitchen didn’t help his current situation.
Just when Tom thought he couldn’t bare his siblings grilling him about his current life a sense of relief came over him as the voice of Lennon came through the back door. Her smile was as bright as the glow of the candles lit brightly on the cake she was holding. Her voice carried the familiar tune as everyone else around him began to sing happy birthday.
Lennon set the cake down in front of him, placing a hand on his shoulder making him tense up. He made sure to not flinch so much. Being put in a situation that might make everything go away the next day made Tom start to panic. What was he supposed to do in this situation? Everyone tuning into the song with their gaze on him. Blythe plopping down next to Tom leaning over looking in awe at the pastry in front of her father.
“Make sure you wish for something good daddy,” The little girl whispered as the short song came to an end. He knew that but what the hell was he supposed to wish for. She looked over at him with her doe eyes, “Can I blow them out with you?”
Tom gave her a tight smile nodded allowing her to slide into his lap as everyone huddled around them. Tom shut his eyes and told himself to just live in the moment. With Blythe’s weight shifting in his lap and the feeling of Lennons hand on his shoulder this moment couldn’t have been more perfect. He couldn’t wish for this life to last but he could just let it temporarily engulf him with happiness.
That was his wish to just see what happens next with what could have been.

“Oh! So we’re keeping score now?” + “Are you forgetting who my parents are?” + “Two can play at that game.” For Liz and Wyatt? 😘😘😘
“Are you forgetting who my our parents are?” had a little change there.
Tiny Dancer living on main in a 6.8k debut!
The end of the day shrill overtook the hallway as Liz organized her textbooks, getting the ones that she needed together for the weekend ahead. Ideally she should just bring all of them home with her, get a head start on some of the history report due before the holiday break. Wyatt though seemed to have other plans as he pleaded with Liz, “Come on, Liz,” he leaned on his shoulder against the lockers, black hair falling into his eyes, “You never come out with me. It’s just one little party.”
Liz laughed slamming the locker shut, “I have been to parties with you Wyatt. I just can’t go out this weekend. I’m grounded, remember.”
“Ugh, you’re always grounded,” he leaned back against the lockers looking up to the ceiling, eyes quickly looking down to her, “What did you get grounded for again? Was it the billboard or ditching class for the protest in Missoula?”
“They were one and the same Wyatt,” she reminded him, “but the ditching school is the official story,” Liz poked his arm, cocking an eyebrow, “and that’s how it’s gonna stay.”
“You know what I don’t get?” He turned to look down at her, “Why haven’t they just made you live with your dad? Seems like he can control you better and you get to see the world.”
Liz gave him a smirk, “Have you met me Wyatt? I’d have been wanted in three countries by now, forcing me to be on the run.” Liz patted his chest, “Better I just get in trouble here in the states.”
The two laughed as Wyatt pushed himself off the lockers, making their way to the auditorium, Wyatt putting his arm around her shoulders, “Seriously though Liz, why can’t you just ask to come with me?”
“Why does this party matter so much to you anyway?” Liz stepped away from him walking backwards a few steps pointing to him, “Or better question, why is it so important that I go with you to this one?”
He gave an exasperated sigh, “Mom and dad said I couldn’t go unless you’d be there with me,” he rolled his eyes brushing his hair out of his eyes, “Something about the buddy system or something like that.”
“Haven’t you gone to parties without me before though?”
“Yeah to people that didn’t have the reputation Kobie Wicks does though,” Oh that’s why, “You’ve heard the kind of parties he throws, his parents having all that money and their house. I mean I’m not wanting to party at the same level as some of the other attendees but still you know how it can be.”
She turned, flipping her hair, “If your parents won’t let you go, what makes you think that mom and dad will let me go?” The two opened the door to the auditorium, setting their things down in the back rows, the chatter of other students hushing their voices, “Especially while I’m supposed to be grounded. Pretty sure that’s why Tia said no to you.”
He gave a shrug of his shoulders, “Then lie about why you need to be out tomorrow night,” he grabbed his change of clothes from the bag, looking at the clock on the wall, “We can tell your parents that we have a project to work on and then we tell mine that you were allowed to go.”
Liz crossed her arms, brow raising as she looked up to him, “Wyatt,” he smiled, eyes hopeful, “are you forgetting who our parents are?” He shook his head, Liz giving him a light punch on the arm, “So what makes you think that’ll work? It’s not like our parents just met once we became friends you know? They were all friends way before we were even thoughts in their heads. They’d call our bluff faster than we could even tell them.” She shook her head, bending down to change her shoes, “There’s no way around this Wyatt. I know you want to go, but there’s nothing we can do to make this work.”
“You know, still doesn’t seem fair that you get to rehearse in your everyday clothes for the musical,” he grumbled, quickly hiding himself in the soundbooth to switch pants.
“Well it would be more accurate for Mamma Mia if I was able to stay in my boots though with my overalls,” Liz rolled her eyes, “But no, I could hurt my ankle. Not like I haven’t climbed out of windows or up trees in them before.”
Wyatt’s eyes lit up as he walked back out to her, quickly changing his shirt, “There is one thing we can do,” he gave Liz a smirk leaning closer to her, “We can both just sneak out.”
“Sneak out?” He nodded, “You want to sneak out and go to a party neither of us would ever be allowed to go to,” she crossed her arms looking up at him.
“Yeah,” Wyatt’s blue-green eyes flicked to the stage seeing the last of the other student actors straggling in, “We just take a page out of Uncle Chance’s book and we just sneak out. Those parties run late into the night and early morning, so we’ll be back before any of them wake up.”
“Wessy is always up early though,” Liz pointed out.
Wyatt scoffed, “What you think he comes and checks up on me when he wakes up and tucks me in again?” Liz gave a quick raise of her eyebrows shrugging, “And your mom sleeps in, so we won’t be found out.”
“You think you have this all thought out don’t you?” He nodded, Liz rolled her eyes. A smile like that only meant he was gonna do it either way at this point, someone had to save him from himself, “Well if we do this you have to figure out how we get there,” Wyatt’s smile grew holding his hand up for a high five, “and when you figure that out text me in our code so we can pull this off.”
“You got it, Lizzy,” she rolled her eyes, slapping her hand against his, “Just watch it’s gonna be worth it. We’ll have so much fun.” I hope so Wyatt. I hope so, the teacher called for them to take their places on the stage, their planning cut short.
Saturday night came and Liz couldn’t help but pace around her room making sure everything was how it should be, all in an attempt to make sure that no one was going to come and check up on her. Not that anyone would but she still couldn’t help but worry about it. Liz felt she really shouldn’t have been seeing as she snuck out before this, maybe it was just the destination this time that had her on edge. She didn’t even like going to the parties all the time, no one really liked her and it felt being at parties made her reputation tank more than raise it. At least this time she tried to look like she could fit in, taking another look at the skinny jeans, off shoulder floral print crop top, and black suede heeled booties. The top was tighter than she was used to, in fact the whole outfit was, and for once she did her hair and makeup to match the girls at school, she actually looked like someone her age, or well those that were cooler than her at school.
Her phone dinged with a picture of a golden retriever, her signal that Wyatt was there and time for her to make her way down the side of the house. Liz slipped her purse across her body, grabbing the wooden wedge as she slipped out the window. She lodged the wedge in place keeping the window open enough to let her back in by the end of the night. Liz looked down to the ground making sure her feet rested on the top of the window on the first floor, before shuffling over to make herself closer to the fence surrounding the house. Once there she easily made her way down it, this stunt normally done in her taller go-go boots. She landed on the grass silently, Wyatt’s arms helping in making her fall quieter in the still night. She smiled up at him brushing the dirt off her knees.
He waved for her to follow him, placing her on his back once they reached the concrete, stopping her heeled shoes from giving them away. Once a safe distance he placed her back on the ground, “Car’s just a little farther away,” he whispered, stuffing his hands in the pockets of the old leather jacket.
“How did you manage to get the car without them knowing?” Liz asked, a little impressed, rubbing her upper arms, she should have grabbed something with longer sleeves.
“Just borrowed one from Tommy, said I needed it for a project,” he explained, pulling the keys out, “Which means I get it until tomorrow afternoon without any questions.”
Liz shook her head holding back her laughter, “Tommy is too nice to you sometimes Wyatt. What did you agree to give him this time?” She smirked as he held the door open for her, “Not another week of slavery I hope.”
He slammed the door taking his place in the driver’s seat, “A dance lesson. Wants to impress some girl at a cotillion so that’s what I get to do next week.”
“I see no difference Wyatt,” Liz turned on the radio, checking her makeup and hair in the small car mirror, “That boy has two left feet. I should know, I had the bruises after homecoming to prove it.”
He laughed making his way to the main road, “Well then I will endure for us having some unsanctioned fun. When was the last time we did?”
“Hmmm, pretty sure the sophomore summer grounding,” Liz responded, reapplying her lipstick.
Wyatt thought a moment before laughing, “Oh yeah! That was the year you helped the seniors pull off their prank. I still believe you were in the right to help them, the principal deserved it, he was a dick most of the time.”
“Thank you! At least you’re still in my corner for that one,” she flashed him a smile as he kept his eyes on the road, “I would have gotten off Scott free if I didn’t have to put my political statement on the prank, cause I was young and stupid.”
Wyatt looked over to Liz as she adjusted her outfit, “You went with something different tonight?” She looked down, eyes wide, “No, no, not in a bad way. It looks nice Liz,” he focused back on the road clearing his throat, “Still like your normal style but you look really nice. Might have to keep people off of ya.”
She looked away hiding the small blush coming to her cheeks, “I think I can handle myself Wyatt.”
“Oh I know but there might be too many for you to take on all at once. I gotta help you, we’re a tag team you and me.” He pulled up to the party, parking behind a small line of cars along the driveway, the bass shaking the windows. The two looked at each other smiling, hearts pounding to the beat of the music, “Okay we still gotta drive so no hard liquor and max-. What time is it?”
Liz looked to her phone, “Eleven thirty.”
“Okay so max three drinks with equal or more parts water slash non-alcoholic drinks. Got it?” Liz nodded, Wyatt taking a deep breath, “Alright, let’s do this.”
“Wait,” she grabbed his arm, “What time does our carriage turn into a pumpkin?”
Wyatt thought for a moment, “Three just to play it safe.” The two nodded, performing their secret handshake before stepping out of the car. The lights were dimmed and accented by the flowing colors of a few light fixtures ranging from disco balls to star projectors, the outdoor areas with regular lighting. From the looks of it every one of the upperclassmen were in attendance, including a few recent graduates from the year before, each one a different level of intoxication and high. Wyatt’s eyes scanned the room spotting a few drinking games, varying dance floors, and other games that seemed to be getting started, Liz wide eyed as she took it in.
“Where do we start tonight, Brooks?” Liz asked a smile coming to her face, noticing the few stares the two of them were getting, eyes lingering on her more. “Drinks then dancing?”
“You read my mind,” he smiled pulling her to the kitchen getting their night started. The two bounced throughout the activities separating at times when Liz got held up in conversation or Wyatt decided to try his hand at seven minutes in heaven, he only got lucky two out of the six times he tried. The attention Liz got felt unnerving to her as people couldn’t stop talking to her, pulling her to the dance floor, or offering her drinks. People that never paid much mind to her in school were suddenly acting as if they had been friends forever. A single night where Liz didn’t feel like such an outcast and she was actually enjoying it….until she nearly got thrown into the pool by a football player. Wyatt managed to help pull her away just in time, walking them to a beer pong table.
“Thanks for that,” she yelled, making sure he heard her over the music.
“It’s no problem. That’s the fifth time tonight I’ve had to save you,” he laughed ruffling her hair.
She pushed his hand away, “Oh! So we’re keeping score now? Cause if I recall I’ve saved you from three girls, two boyfriends of said girls, an ex of yours, and yourself from jumping off the roof.”
Wyatt waved her off, “I was gonna be fine and you know it,” he took a sip of his drink, Liz noticing that it didn’t look like the beer they were supposed to be drinking, “You just didn’t want me to take the attention away from you.”
Liz gave a loud laugh, “You were gonna biff it,” she pointed to his cup curious, “Thought no hard liquor tonight?” He looked down to it giving her a sheepish smile, Liz stopping any explanation from him, “Don’t worry about it, I’m on drink two so I’ll stop and drive us home. You can stay with me tonight.”
“Won’t that defeat the idea of us sneaking out though?” Wyatt asked, his body starting to move along to the music.
Liz shook her head, “Nah. We just say you had a hard night and needed a friend. They can’t fault us for that.”
His eyes went wide, “Won’t they think we’re together though? Like together together.”
She rolled her eyes playfully putting her hand on his shoulder, “Wyatt, the minute they start thinking that is the minute we call them seniors, cause they’re blind as hell.”
The two almost toppled over as Carmina embraced them from behind, “Hey you two,” her blue eyes looking between them, “Can I request you two love birds’ presence on the dance floor?”
Liz rolled her eyes, feeling her cheeks getting warm, “We’re not together, Carmina. Don’t know how many times I have to remind you of that.”
“Then don’t look like you are,” she teased, grabbing their hands, “Come on let’s go dance!”
Liz and Wyatt followed her out to the floor getting lost in the music that played, the two ignoring the time as it passed. Liz had felt herself sobering up as she and Wyatt worked their through more games, conversations, and meeting the new friends Carmina had made at the community college. The three of them had just finished making their way through beating everyone at darts, and even with the slight sway in Wyatt, he was making near dead center shots, collecting the twenty dollar bet against a recent graduate by the time Liz looked to the clock on her phone, eyes growing wide.
She brought the phone screen up to Wyatt, “We gotta go!”
He was ready to laugh her off when he saw the clock reading four in the morning, “Oh fuck!” They left Carmina’s side without a goodbye Wyatt having to stop setting his drink down reaching for the keys in his coat pocket, his fumbling hands dropping them. Liz reached down to get them, a football player snatching them first, “Hey give them here!” Wyatt called out.
“Hey Jason,” their classmate called out, catching the eye of a teammate of his, “Catch!”
“Hey!” Liz yelled running to try and catch the keys before Jason did. His taller frame had him snatching them from the air. “Give those here Jason!”
He smirked, tossing them back to his friend, Wyatt trying to catch them to no avail, “Catch them and you can have them.” The keys were tossed towards Liz again, jumping up to try and catch them, Jason holding her to the ground.
“Now you’re just playing dirty,” she glared up at him, hands on her hips.
Jason gave her a shrug holding the keys above her, “We can always work out another deal you know,” her eyes narrowed watching as his grey eyes moved up her body slowly, “You don’t have to leave the party just yet.”
“Fuck no,” she tried to jump for them again, Wyatt coming up behind her, “Now give them back!”
Wyatt took the distraction to snatch the keys back, earning a glare from Jason, “Come on Liz let’s get out of here,” Wyatt said pushing her towards the door.
“I won’t be so nice next time Jason! I can promise you that,” Liz called out before leaving the house, Wyatt handing her the keys. “Stupid Jason thinking he can get what he wants just by playing stupid games,” Liz grumbled opening the passenger door for Wyatt, “He’s got another thing coming, cause two can play at that game. Doesn’t even know that I have the power to fail him in math class.”
“Liz,” Wyatt said softly as she started the car, she glanced at him with her brown eyes, “forget about him. He’s just some jerk. Not worth being petty over.”
She sighed putting the radio on low, “You’re right, I just never liked him and tonight didn’t help his case.”
Wyatt gave her a smirk turning his head to look out the window, “That’s no surprise. He obviously wanted to hook up with you so we know what that means.”
Liz furrowed her brow, trying and failing to come up with an answer, “I have no idea actually Wyatt.”
“He wants what he can’t have,” he rolled his head back to face her with a lazy smile, “You won’t let him sleep with you or give him any kind of positive attention and it just makes him more upset and possibly desire you more because normally everyone loves him and agrees to what he wants. But you,” he reached a hand to poke her cheek, Liz grabbing his hand before he could make contact, placing it on the seat, “you don’t. You’re his unicorn, hence his behavior.”
Liz shook her head, rolling her eyes, “Well he’s never gonna win.”
“Cause you like girls more,” Wyatt nodded, changing the song.
She gave a small laugh, “I like guys too, but it's his personality. I just can’t get past that.”
“And you shouldn’t,” he sat up straighter in the seat, “Liz we’ve grown up together and I know you. So I know that someone like him ain’t gonna cut it.” Wyatt scoffed, running a hand through his hair, pushing it back, “Hell even if there was some clone of me that wasn’t a part of our family circle out there, they still wouldn’t deserve you.”
She chuckled, shaking her head lightly, “You might be a little tipsy I think Wyatt, cause if it was a clone of you that would mean that they are a part of the family circle technically, because they have your DNA.”
“All ‘bout the details with you,” he smiled laughing, “Just like Uncle Raf. Raf,” he repeated, tilting his head, “Weird name to say don’t you think? Raf,” he said slowly shaking his head.
“Yeah it’s a good thing you’re staying with me tonight,” Liz mused, parking the car down the street like he had done earlier. “Alright buddy, here’s how this is gonna go,” she turned to face him, keeping his eyes focused on her, “I’m gonna climb over the fence, let you in. Then, I’ll climb to the window first so I can get you the ladder to come up.”
“Can’t I just climb like you?”
Liz shook her head, “You’re not as quiet like this Wyatt. Speaking of which,” Liz took her shoes off carrying them, Wyatt giving her a curious look, “So we can make less noise.” She and Wyatt made their way to her house trying to stop him from humming too loudly the entire walk there. The fence was easy to scale with Wyatt as Liz’s boost, along with making it to the window, her hand not meeting the inner sill like she should have. Liz looked along the window seeing that he was shut and impossible to open with how she was situated, even on her own it would be impossible. She looked to the ground below her, there was no way that it had come out….at least on it’s own. “Oh no,” she breathed out, that wasn’t a reassuring sign. “Wyatt,” she whispered, “put me down.”
He placed her down, eyes looking her over, “What’s wrong?”
“The window’s locked, could have been Danny, though. He can be a little jerk sometimes,” she pulled him to the back door, “Let’s sneak in the back, but keep quiet okay.” He nodded, following silently as they made their way to the back, Liz testing the door finding it locked. She looked to Wyatt frowning, “I think we’re in trouble Wyatt.”
“Gotta use the front door?” Liz nodded, “Fuck.” Wyatt rubbed the back of his neck, “My idea, I’ll take the heat. Hopefully it’s your mom,” he said shaking his shoulders out.
Liz looked at him confused, “Of course it’d be my mom. Why would you think otherwise?”
“Saw your dad’s car I think,” he pointed towards the front of the house, “Hope it's not him.”
Liz groaned quietly, it was very possible he got that earlier flight in the end, “I hope so too. But if it is him, let me take it okay. I’m used to it.” She put her arm around Wyatt as the two made their way to the front of the house, each preparing for the inevitable punishments. Standing in front of the door they look to each other grabbing the other’s hand, “Remember let me take the heat for this one okay. I convinced you like I do all the time-.”
“Not true I’ve convinced you before,” he interjected.
“How many times were those actually blamed on you though?”
“Touche,” Wyatt nodded.
“So I take the blame and hopefully I can convince dad to just let you stay here tonight. Then Aunt Wren and Uncle Wes can’t punish you as much or even find out if we’re super lucky.”
He gave her a smirk, “When have we ever been that lucky, Liz?” Wyatt gave her hand a squeeze, “Let’s do this.” Wyatt opened the door stepping in first, the living room light turning on, their eyes locking with Raf’s narrowed brown eyes, his jaw set, arms crossed, and not alone. Wyatt’s eyes went wide, “Dad,” he squeaked out, “What are you doing here?”
“What do you think Wyatt?” Raf said calmly, “You two are in a lot of trouble,” he pointed to Liz, “You especially young lady. What were you thinking sneaking out?” Liz looked down to the ground briefly gathering herself, while Raf took in her outfit, “And dressed like that. Do you know how worried I was, how worried Wes was with your little stunt. On top of that-.”
“Wasn’t her idea,” Wyatt said standing straighter, the three looking his way, Liz hissing his name under her breath, “It was mine. The whole thing. Liz just didn’t want me to go to the party alone, wanted to keep an eye on me. So you can’t blame her.”
“You drunk, kid?” Wes asked, looking to see if Liz was in the same state.
Wyatt gave a slow shrug, “You both drank? And then decided to drive,” Raf took a deep breath in, “What were you two thinking!”
“Liz didn’t drink, she stayed sober once she saw me drinking more,” Liz covered her face, Wyatt that’s not how you lie, “She drove not me.”
Raf pinched the bridge of his nose, Wes shaking his head, “Liz, is this true?”
She nodded, “Yeah, one and a half beers at the very beginning of the night with two glasses of water between them. I’ve taken your guys’ advice when it comes to drinking, seriously.”
Wes nodded, “Least you were smart about it.”
“Was it really your idea,” Raf interrupted, eyes staring down at her, “and don’t try to take the full heat for this, Wyatt has to learn his lesson too.”
Liz looked at Wyatt, eyes sad, it was better to lie and make herself the villain, save Wyatt from her dad, but it would make it worse for herself if she just didn’t tell the truth either. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, Wyatt giving a slow nod in understanding, turning to meet her father’s eyes, “It was Wyatt’s idea. I helped with some planning-.”
Raf cut her off, pointing up the stairs, “Room. Now.”
“Dad but you should know that-,” she tried to argue, a sliver of hope that maybe she could lessen the extent of Wyatt’s punishment.
“Room,” his voice was calm and left no arguing, “We’ll talk later.” Liz grabbed Wyatt’s hand giving him a sympathetic squeeze, her eyes meeting his green eyes, “Now Liz.”
Wes’ eyes looked down to their hands noticing how slow they were to let go, “Yes sir,” Liz said, hanging her head making her way up the stairs, sitting in front of her door wanting to hear how much trouble she got him in.
“In your room, no sitting in front of it,” Liz rolled her eyes at her father’s voice, she knew there was no faking him out either. She sat in her room behind the door hoping to hear some of what was being said. It really wasn’t fair to Wyatt to be taking on the lecture, that Liz could handle, he didn’t deserve it. She didn’t have to agree to go with him, but she did and therefore should have taken the lecture and extra punishment, worth it for him to stay on dad’s good side. Not to mention his mom when he got home was going to double down on it. Liz could hear their voices muffled but distinct, Wes interjecting when needed, but Raf did most of the lecturing, her name being tossed in a few times.
It was an hour before Raf finally stopped his lecture letting Wes and Wyatt go home. Liz let out a slow breath getting up to sit on her bed, listening to her dad’s footsteps making their way to her room. He knocked on the door, waiting for her, “You can come in,” she said softly looking at the carpet, kicking her foot out below her.
Raf entered, shutting the door behind him, pulling the chair from her desk sitting across from her, arms resting on his knees. The two sat in silence for a minute, the tension causing goosebumps to raise on her arms, “Liz,” Raf started, her shoulders hunching over, “what are we going to do with you? It seems like every other week there’s something with you and your mom and I,” he ran a hand through his hair, “well we’re running out of ways to put a stop to this behavior.”
“I’m sorry. I won’t do it again, I promise,” Liz’s heart falling, holding back the lump in her throat.
“Sorry isn’t going to cut it this time, Liz,” he snapped trying to keep his voice soft, “We just need you to understand that what you’re doing has consequences and one day no one is going to be there to bail you out. We can’t keep saving you. You’ll be an adult in the eyes of the law soon and with your history they won’t go easy on you.” Liz curled into herself more hiding her face as best she could, “I don’t want to see you make mistakes that will affect you for the rest of your life. I know you want to be headstrong, do the right thing, speak up for the underdog, and just be a teenager all at the same time but you have to start thinking about the long term effects.”
“I’m trying though,” Liz whispered, “I promise you I am.”
“Not hard enough,” she flinched at his words, Raf let out a sigh, “Look I know you want to act like an adult, think you’re one already, but you aren’t Liz,” he placed a hand on her knee, “You just aren’t and that’s why we set these rules and boundaries for you. We aren’t placing them there just because we like to, far from it, it’s because we care about you. You just keep pushing and pushing those boundaries to the limit and,” he took a breath looking away for a moment, “well the next limit for us to take is treating you like a real adult.”
“What,” her voice cracked, “What do you mean?” By his tone of voice she could tell he didn’t mean it in the way every teenager dreamed of.
“You heard me,” he sat up straight in the chair, his eyes never leaving hers, “Your mom and I will treat you like a real adult. You’ll have to find some way to pay rent, get your own food, and finish school. You’ll be on your own.”
Eyes going wide Liz pleaded, “That’s-that’s not fair,” her father gave a shrug of his shoulders, “You can’t do that! I’m your daughter, you have to take care of me.”
“You want to be an adult so badly, We’ll treat you like one.”
“You’re bluffing,” she countered, “You’d never just cut me off like that. Mom wouldn’t let you.”
“You really want to put that to the test?” He leaned forward, “Cause that’s our last option with you. There isn’t anything else for us to do other than for us to stop bailing you out when you get in trouble.”
Liz scoffed, “So that’s my punishment for just sneaking out?” There’s no way mom would allow for that, not after how her mom handled punishments, “Doesn’t seem like it fits the crime honestly, too harsh. Just ask anyone.”
“You’re right, so for tonight’s stunt, your grounding is extended by another two weeks and I’m revoking online privileges, I’m putting up more blocks on all devices. You have to get approval for sites if you need them for school purposes only,” Liz opened her mouth to protest Raf holding a hand up, “Look there is nothing else I can really take from you at this point that wouldn’t have effects into other parts of your life that I want you to focus on.” Raf took a deep breath, “I’m also locking that window and you have a set time frame that you must be home by. No going out anywhere, not even to family unless your mom or I are with you.” Liz let herself relax hearing the new terms of her grounding, I should have brought a notebook out with everything he’s just thrown at me. “You break any and I mean any of these rules or you get in trouble for something else I will not allow for anyone to bail you out. You will be on your own.” He leaned closer to Liz, jaw set and voice low, “Do I make myself clear?”
Liz’s heart pounded in her chest, feeling the anger starting to burn in her blood. She wanted to tell him no, what he was proposing was unfair and unjust, that a child should not be left to fend for themselves….and yet she knew he had a point. Raf was being strict and sounding unkind in how he presented her options, but there was genuine worry there. She knew that he loved her, he always had, even when he was away he always managed to find some way to show how he was there for her. Why would this time be any different? It was unfair punishment in her eyes still but it must have all come to a head for it to have gotten under his skin this much after the countless times she had been caught for other things. Liz let out a slow breath swallowing her pride, “Crystal sir.”
He nodded leaning back in the chair, running his hands down his face, looking back at her, his face softer. “Come here,” Raf stretched his arms out to her, Liz looking at him suspiciously, “Just want to give you a hug. I missed you.” Liz didn’t move from where she sat, Raf getting up to sit next to her putting an arm around her, “You know I love you right? I always will, mija,” he said softly, “I just worry about you so much, I don’t want to see you hurt. I also- I just want you to have the world open to you. You deserve to take it on and have them all listen whether they like it or not.” He kissed the side of her head, “I just wish you’d be smarter about it like I know you are.”
“Just don’t want me to end up having to make my early adulthood harder than it needs to be like others in our family had,” Liz said looking back to the ground.
“Exactly,” he pulled her closer, “I want you to have it better than we did.”
“I apparently take after Uncle Wes so that may be inevitable,” she moved closer leaning her head against Raf’s shoulder.
Raf gave a small smile shaking his head, “I know we like to make that joke but while it is partially true, you actually take after you mom,” Liz looked up furrowing her brow, “It’s true, you just don’t get to see it. You get your big heart from her, being headstrong, compassionate, and impulsiveness from her.”
“Mom has never been impulsive like I am though,” Liz shook her head, “When she was younger, like way younger, right?”
“Like I said you don’t see it. Now don’t tell her I told you this but her control goes out the window when she has too much to drink,” Liz’s eyes went wide a smile threatened her lips, “She doesn’t get that way too much now but there was a Halloween she broke a man’s nose and beat him for making fun of her height or the time she wanted to spray paint a rainbow on someone’s house for their homophobic comments about her and Wren’s sexuality.” Liz laughed in disbelief, “So see a lot like her. Just have to work on getting her control and you’ll make your mark in the history books.”
“I’ll try, dad,” Liz wrapped her arms around him tightly, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Raf kissed the top of her head, hugging her, “Though please don’t try to test my limits.”
She nodded, “I know. You’ll follow through with it.” Raf patted her back standing, making his way to the door, “Hey dad,” he turned to face her, “How did you even find out?”
“Oh,” he gave her a smile, “Wes wanted to just tuck in his kids, something about having so much time with them while being young, or something cheesy like that. Nothing that our family would understand honestly.”
Liz gave a light laugh seeing his smile, “Oh yeah, totally. Who wants to be cheesy like that with their kids.”
“Anyway, he saw Wyatt was gone. Called your mom wondering if he came over like he does on occasion when he’s upset. I just got home, saw her phone go off and answered it.” Raf shrugged, “Would have found out either way, was planning on looking in on you guys after I got my stuff settled.”
“Of all nights for Wessy to be cheesy,” Liz whispered to herself, letting out a sigh.
“Now we both need some sleep,” he pointed to the window, “I’ll take care of what we discussed later today. So don’t try to sneak out again this early,” Liz nodded, watching as he left her room closing the door. She sat waiting for the sound of her parent’s bedroom door to close, making a break for her laptop. She opened up the messages connected to her phone seeing if Wyatt had tried to get a hold of her, nothing showing. She quickly typed a message to him, leg bouncing as she waited for a response from him. Five minutes passed before he responded, sending her a video call.
Wyatt had a lopsided smile on his face already changed out of the clothes he was wearing, “Hey trouble maker,” he said laughing.
“Har har. You’re one to talk, Sherlock,” Liz rolled her eyes once, settling her face worry taking over her features, “You doing okay? I know my dad can be a lot and you had your dad getting in on it too,” she rambled, waving her hands getting her thoughts back in order, “Just wanted to see how you held up.”
His face turned serious, taking a deep breath, “You know I think I know how it feels to be short now. Like really understand now.”
Liz let out a snort, “That’s dads for ya, somehow manage to make you feel three feet tall. What was the final verdict on punishment for you?”
“No surprise, but grounded,” he gave a shrug, “Mom was a bit upset about the whole thing, so I got it from her too. I also have no games, so I now have the punishment laptop for school,” Liz gave an exaggerated wince, Wyatt laughing. “I know right? But uh a slightly stricter curfew and manual labor with dad for the duration or until he has nothing left for me to do. I’m sure you got off easier this time Liz since I was to blame. Just a very harsh lecture from Uncle Raf.”
Liz looked at the desk, pursing her lips, “Wyatt I am….a repeat offender. I am not allowed out of the house without supervision, or well even in the house without someone else being here. Window is gonna be sealed too.”
“But nothing taken away though,” he pointed out, “Better than me.”
Liz’s jaw dropped before laughing, “Excuse me sir but there is nothing left for them to take from me that wouldn’t have consequences in other parts of my life.”
He thought for a moment, “Fair point. Oh you know what dad also told me on the drive home?” Liz shook her head, “He gave me a six out of ten for my sneaking out attempt. A rank, Liz. He ranked my sneaking out ability.”
“Hey, six out of ten isn’t bad,” Liz shrugged, smiling.
He leaned back in his chair with a huff, “You kidding me? That’s a failing grade right there. I gotta do better next time, gotta pass with flying colors like I do everything else.”
Liz shook her head, rolling her eyes, “There will not be a second time.”
“Sure there won’t be Lizzy,” Wyatt laughed, Liz feeling the automatic response to give him a shove, opting to shake her head groaning. When his laughter subsided, he met her eyes with his light green ones, catching the light of the rising sun, “I am glad to see you’ll be okay though Liz. Sorry I dragged you into this, got you in trouble.”
“Don’t worry about it,” she waved him off, “I had a lot of fun tonight, so worth it you know?”
“Yeah,” he repeated, his eyes getting a far away look, “Worth it.”
“Anyway you should get some sleep and end this call before your mom finds you,” Liz said, “I’ll see you Monday at school,” he nodded. Liz gasped, “Oh also, don’t forget to bring a second meal tomorrow cause we have the test performance that night.”
“Aye aye, captain,” he saluted her, the two laughing, “And you don’t forget the Hot Tamales for me.”
“I know. You took the heat this time so fair is fair.” The two waved to each other, their screens going dark, Liz leaning back in her chair. “We’ll do it again,” she mocked, “In your dreams.”

♔ — * in tonight’s performance of ensemblehq, the role of the leading lady will be played by paola perez.
hello everyone ! my name is kiwi, i’m 20 years old, vibing in the est timezone, and i use they/she pronouns. a fun fact about me is that i’m actually studying theatre in college right now !! if i was a skeleton in this rp, i would definitely be the comic, as i tend to get typecasted into comedic roles in literally every show that we do ever (will i ever play a romantic lead in my life? probably not. i’ve made my peace with it.)
i will be writing the incomparable paola, everyone’s favorite rachel berry wannabe. while you can read her full bio HERE (and i’ll love you forever if you do), i’ve included some bullet points below because i know that i wrote a lot nsfkgjdfs
SO without further ado (adieu? ado? adue? how did i get into this rp, i have literally one braincell) i present to you: the grand journey of paola perez.
fictional character inspirations include: rosalie hale from twilight, dany from game of thrones, winter anderson from american horror story, maddy perez from euphoria, mariana foster from the fosters and (bc i have to) angelica schuyler from hamilton and also rachel berry from glee (don’t @ me, i had to do it)
ABOUT.
paola is the only child of luciana perez, an immigrant from colombia who fled her hometown of quibdó before her daughter’s first birthday. she got an american work visa, packed up all her things, and left the life she knew behind.
they never found a place to settle down in the united states, and moved around every couple of months to avoid detection and suspicion from neighbors and authorities.
(RACISM TW) this was exciting for paola, and she never really gave it a second thought until one day in the eighth grade when a boy told her to “go back home,” and that she wasn’t a “real american.” this made her upset as she didn’t know what he meant and she ran home to her mother immediately, demanding an explanation.
her mom was about to explain when the phone rang and she was told by a coworker that they needed her at work. she told paola to pack a bag and head to the neighbors for a bit. her mom never came back and she’s lived with her neighbor, linda, ever since.
she did not find out what happened to her mother until a year and a bit later, when linda sat her down and told her that her mother wrote her a letter, and she wanted to explain what happened to her first.
(DEPORTATION TW) the phone call her mother received was from one of her coworkers who was also undocumented. she said that ICE (immigration and customs enforcement) had shown up at their place of employment and was asking questions to employees, getting information about the ones who weren’t at work that day. if luciana didn’t go to work in that moment, ice would have shown up at her door that night, and they would have taken both her and paola into custody. her mom was now back in colombia, and paola was alone.
she wasn’t entirely alone, however. she had the theatre program at school and she had linda at home, and at school, she was super successful. she got lead role after lead role, building her resume so that she could get into a good college and then have a successful career and be able to take care of her mother.
things that happened before the end of her senior year also included officially being adopted by linda and applying to DACA (deferred action for childhood arrivals)
upon arriving at alderidge, paola realized that she could be anything she wanted to be, and what she wanted to be was rich and powerful and successful, and SO homegirl lies about being on scholarship and having tons of money and basically has created this whole second identity as a wall between her and everyone else.
she loves orson. not in like a romantic way, but in a “the only father figure i’ve ever known” kind of way. she used to spend hours in his office crying, working on assignments, getting advice from him on grad schools and life after college. his loss is devastating for her, and she’s definitely gone into full conspiracy theory mode.
HEADCANNONS.
i think for her audition monologue to get into the school she did the “out damned spot” monologue from m*****h, and i think that orson shed a tear at her performance.
she has saved a flower from every show that she has been in, pressed it, and preserved it so that after she graduates, she can have something to take with her to each dressing room she ends up inhabiting during her career.
linda tries her hardest to travel from florida to washington to see every show she can. if she can’t be there in person, she will email the school repeatedly until she gets a video recording of the performance. linda and paola have a tradition where after each show, they get ice cream and just talk MAD shit about everyone else in the cast. this is alive and well, and even though they sometimes do this over facetime, they still love doing it.
paola is really bright ! like super academic (enough to get a full ride to alderidge) but that’s something she keeps under wraps. she does have to maintain a 3.0 gpa to stay at school on her scholarship, and that is something she’s never had to worry about. she’s also minoring in business b/c even the most confident among us gotta have back up plans.
(TW: DRUGS) let’s talk about coke ! i imagine that her and the leading man found orson’s secret stash one day years ago and tried it “just for shits and giggles,” expecting to do it once just to try it and then to never do it again. that didn’t work, and now she is sort of reliant on it. she does coke before every performance and audition, when she needs a little pick me up to finish an assignment or to memorize the last of her lines, at parties, literally any reason she can find to take more she will take more. this is a problem !! homegirl needs an intervention, stat, or else she is not making it to broadway, no ma’am.
i think she has a completion compulsion, meaning once she starts something, she has to see it through. this manifests itself in many different ways. she won’t move on to the next question on a test until she answers the one prior, she won’t quit a project in the middle of it until she has some sort of finished project, won’t quit a club or a show or a commitment until the end. this also can be seen in her friendship w/ the scene stealer !
okay this is just because i’m a huge theatre nerd but i think she was definitely mayzie la bird in seussical the musical at some point, also probably the witch in into the woods and then i think her senior musical was mamma mia and she was donna.
her dream roles include harper in angels in america, lady m*****t in m*****t, and honestly probably goody proctor in the crucible (although she’s SUCh an abigail williams, smh).
she was born on the same day as barack obama and that’s not REALLY a headcannon, because it’s more a fact, but i think it’s neat.
WANTED.
you can find my wanted connection tag here ! it’s a bit scarce right now, but it has some fun jumping off points
other wanted connections i included in my app are: “line study partners, the person who she always goes and gets taco bell with after every rehearsal, maybe a roommate in between the supporting role sophomore year and the statue senior year who she actually really got along with! some sort of love interest would be cool but is definitely not mandatory although the most theatre kid romantic ship i can think of is being paired up to do a romantic scene and then dropping the scripts and making out so that could happen and be very cool very nice”
that’s it ! i’ll shut up now ! can’t wait to get started !

Positive 20 Questions Tag Game
i made a tag game again.  i’m bored, procrastinating, and certain we all need some more positivity right now. hell yeah.
1.) Name 4 fictional characters who showcase your personality the best, with explanations if you want.
- dean winchester (supernatural): i never shut up about his but dean is me y’all.  we both be out here, acting like we’re tough when we’re just jelly filled dorks, being nurturing as hell, making jokes to cheer people up, with a constant chip on our shoulders, and secretly just wanting someone to love us and love someone back.
- maria vontrapp (sound of music): i know she’s not technically a fictional character since that’s based on a true story but whatever.  you know what i could name everything about her, but i won’t bc who has time for that.  basically just fucking listen to the song “maria” from that movie where all the nuns roast her and you’ve basically got my personality wrapped in a bow for you.  just an innocent ass train wreck that just wants to love everyone but doesn’t realize that manners are a thing.  that song is so me that my family used to sing it at me when i was little and they still do.  also when she blows the whistle obnoxiously at the captain and is just like “lol sorry captain didn’t know how i was supposed to address you :)))” super passive aggressively, me.
- tracy samantha lorde (the philadelphia story): okay she’s definitely classier and fancier than me but, the real vulnerable shit underneath all of her grace and beauty is samesies.  she basically is so intolerant of people being anything less than perfect because she’s so afraid of people getting close to her and seeing her flaws....cough cough.  she keeps everyone at a distance because she doesn’t want to get hurt. lmao.
- lilo (lilo and stitch): another fictional character that my family needed to point out was me at every turn.  my older sister and i actually used to say ohana to each other before bed because she was so similar to nani and i’m so similar to lilo and we fight EXACTLY like them.  lilo is just a little outcast who, once again, just loves everyone and wants to be seen and loved for who she is, but has such a hard time connecting to people because they don’t understand her and her aggressive way of showing her intense emotions.  my mama still calls me lilo sometimes.  i have a lilo plushie on my bed and a lilo sticker on my laptop bc i love her and she gets me.
2.) Aesthetic?
-  bright colors, ocean waves, dirty and torn clothing, and wildflowers.
3.) Favorite musical/play? (If you’ve never seen a musical or play, one you’d be interested in seeing?
- into the woods.  it was phantom of the opera for most of my childhood and teenage years, but into the woods really just goes after the life metaphors and really makes  you think about the difference between right, wrong, and gray areas. like there’s a song about how adventure changes you and makes you view the world differently.  there’s another about how somewhere between mundane and perfect is where the best parts of life lie.  there’s another all about how important children are and how vital it is that you are careful what you say and do around them.  it just goes the fuck off.
4.) What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?
- “you think about the world in ways i never thought were possible”
5.) How many times have you been in love?
- kind of 1? i’ve been into the same person my whole life but i’m constantly debating myself on if unrequited love can count as being in love with someone you’re actually with, if that makes sense?
6.) Embarrassing story or fact about yourself that makes you laugh now?
- when i was little, i secretly wanted to be an actress on broadway, so when i was home alone and would watch movies, i would pick a character in the movie and act out their parts as i watched like a crazy person lol.
7.) Favorite Disney/Pixar movie?
- favorite disney movie is lilo and stitch for reasons mostly mentioned in the first question, but the family doesn’t get left behind or forgotten and the outcast is not unloveable they’re just misunderstood messages just send me and really helped baby molly.  how obvious is it that i’m a giant sucker for an interesting message?
8.) Favorite flower or plant?
- black eyed susans.  they’re a wild flower with a similar beauty to daisies, but with a little bit of darkness in them.
9.) What’s your favorite holiday?
- christmas biiiiiiitch.  it’s the one time of year i’m not worried that my house is haunted and i get to sing all the time and people don’t find it weird or annoying.  the snow is not the best but everything else makes up for it.
10.) Name three things that made you laugh or smile this past week.
- when i was laying in the grass today, a little tiny robin hopped over to me and whistled at me and it was a magical experience
- i realized i only have 3 more weeks of school until this hell semester is over
- my mom made my bed on top of me and if you’ve never had someone do that to you before, did you have a childhood? are you okay? also find someone to do it to you right now.
11.) What song would you play to introduce yourself to someone?
- either "thank you for the music” by abba or from mamma mia depending on the kind of person you are, or i guess the song “maria” that i mentioned before lmao
12.) Name something that truly makes you feel peaceful even at your most stressed moments.
- laying down in the grass on a nice sunny day and just listening the sounds of birds, bugs, and other surrounding noises.
13.) What do you, did you, or would you study at college?
- i am currently working on my masters degree in special education for elementary school ages.  i will probably go back and get a second masters in school counseling to help students with special needs who are in traumatic situations or are mistreated at home.
14.) This is kind of a weird one, but which outfit of yours makes you feel most like yourself?
- my emotional support outfit as my friends call it is my toy story pajama pants with my guiness sweatshirt from ireland
15.) What is a quote you live by?
- be fiercely and ferociously yourself.
i have also recently started to follow “you’ve got to lighten up, it’s just life.”
16.) Name the funniest playlist name you have.
- “the chocolate ganache” and i called it that because it’s full of songs that represent my soul and personality and chocolate ganache is what i like to think my filling would be if i was a cake.
17.) Make a reference to an inside joke you have with someone you love with zero context.
- bob hope and bing crosby
18.) What is a message you would give your younger self if given the chance?
- if someone doesn’t like you for who you are, tell them to fuck directly off.
19.) Who is your favorite family member? (If you have no good blood family members, feel free to mention someone in your found family)
- my late grandfather.  i called him papa and he was basically my father.  he was smart, cuddly, serious, fiercy loving, and kind of dorky, but he was the best and i miss him every day.
20.) What’s a secret dream of yours?
- my childhood dream mentioned above still kinda lingers around in my brain from time to time, but i know it’s not possible for me.
tagging my friends (or at least i’d like to think we’re friends lmao) @navajolovesdestiel @victorian-sexstache @missjojo96 @multifandom-fanatic @day-fire @baby-in-a-trenchcoat7 @green-eyes-and-classic-rock, and @thetiredstuff and literally anyone else who wants to play.  for real.
if i didn’t tag you and you play, please tag me! i’d love to read through yours!
if i did tag you and you’re intimidated by the size of this and have decided, “fuck that noise” i respect you and i get it no hard feelings (:

Don’t Dream It’s Over Flashbacks Part Three
DDIO Masterlist
AN: This is a compilation of all of the flashbacks of Liam and Ali’s story from my Don’t Dream It’s Over universe. You can find the full story on my masterlist.
CHAPTER 12
Liam approached the door to his and Drake’s apartment with Bastien trailing closely behind him. He had worked through the morning and was able to get back to the apartment in time for lunch. Bastien, who had been with Leo for the past few months, had managed to get himself switched over onto Liam’s guard for a few days so he could check in on Drake.
Liam, who had expected to have to drag Drake out of bed and hide all of the alcohol in the apartment for the rest of the day, was surprised to hear loud music playing from somewhere in the apartment. He furrowed his brows when he recognized the song to be Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! from the Mamma Mia soundtrack. It was something he only knew because Ali liked the movie so much.
Liam and Bastien both approached the kitchen cautiously, neither one of them sure what to expect, and were met with the sight of Ali and Drake, both bent over the stove. They each had their faces inches away from a frying pan, where they seemed to be studying a cooking pancake very closely.
“It’s time to flip it,” Drake said, his brow furrowed in concentration.
“Not yet,” Ali responded. “It’s too soon.”
“No, it’s bubbling. I’m going to flip it.”
“Hold on! Just a few more seconds,” she responded, grabbing his arm to keep it at his side. “Okay, now!”
Liam and Bastien watched as Drake slowly lifted a spatula and placed it under the pancake. Both he and Ali still had their faces as close to the pan as they could get without getting burned.
“Careful. Careful! CAREFUL!” Ali repeated the word more intensely each time as Drake slowly lifted the pancake and flipped it over to reveal that it was perfectly browned on the other side.
“YES!” they both screamed at the same time, jumping up from their spot and pulling each other into a hug.
Liam held back a smile and cleared his throat. The both pulled away and Ali smiled even wider when she saw him.
“Liam!” she said happily.
She was about to launch herself into his arms when she caught sight of Bastien beside him and straightened her posture.
“I, uh, mean, Prince Liam,” she said, trying to make her voice sound casual and nodding in his direction.
“It’s okay. That’s just Bastien,” Drake said.
“Hi, Bastien. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Ali!” she said, smiling happily again.
“It’s nice to meet you too,” Bastien said, holding back a confused smile himself as he took in the scene before him.
“What are the two of you doing,” Liam asked.
“I wanted pancakes. This is the first one we haven’t burned yet,” Ali said, pointing at a stack of burnt pancakes on the counter, as Drake hummed along to the music.
“Are you drunk,” Liam asked, placing his hands on her waist and bringing his face close to hers so he could smell her breath.
“No,” Ali tried to say with her mouth closed, her eyes going wide to attempt a look of innocence.
Liam raised his brows, giving her a knowing look.
“Maybe a little,” she said, bringing her hand up and placing her thumb and forefinger together to symbolize “a little”. “But, it’s all Drake’s fault. He was all sad, and he got me sad, so we played that game to feel better.”
“Game?” Liam asked.
“Yeah. That game. Drake, what was the name of the game?” she said, her face scrunched up in concentration as she tried to remember the name of it.
Drake, who had been previously bopping his head to the song and mumbling “Is there a man out there? Someone to hear my prayer” under his breath, jumped out of his reverie.
“Never Have I Ever,” he said.
Liam was about to respond when the smell of burnt pancakes filled the air. He immediately turned to shut the burner off and remove the burnt pancake from the stove before looking back over to the two of them. He sighed, realizing that at least this was better than Drake being completely depressed.
“Why don’t you two go sit on the couch while I finish the pancakes,” Liam said to the two of them.
Ali looked over at Drake hesitantly.
“Do you want to remind him that he can’t cook or should I?” she dropped her voice into what she thought was a whisper but was actually just her regular voice in a higher octave.
“You do it. He likes you more than me,” Drake responded in the same tone.
Liam looked over to Bastien, who was now desperately trying to hold in his laughter, and rolled his eyes.
“I think I can manage. You go,” he said corralling them into the living room.
He returned to the kitchen to the sound of their giggles coming from the living room and smiled at the thought of the two most important people in his life getting along.
CHAPTER 14
Ali perched herself awkwardly on the edge of Liam’s bed as she watched him pile clothes into his suitcase. She had no idea why she had offered to help him pack, why she thought it would be a good idea to physically help him move on from the life they had together. She was only torturing herself, watching as the one person who made her happier than she had ever been prepared to leave her.
She was here because she was being a good girlfriend. That’s what good girlfriends did, right? They helped their boyfriends pack up all of their memories, making sure they were all bundled up neatly together so that they could easily be forgotten and disposed of as soon as he left the country. But, was she really even his girlfriend anymore? Their relationship had ended the moment he announced he would be leaving. It didn’t matter if he wouldn’t be gone for another two days, they were practically over already anyway.
A sigh escaped her lips as she pushed herself off the bed and hastily made her way over to his nightstand. She scolded herself for thinking so selfishly. Liam had a life outside of her, and she couldn’t ask him to give that up. It wasn’t her place. He had important responsibilities. She should be thankful for the wonderful time they had been able to spend together.
She wiped away a tear before yanking open the first drawer and dumping the contents out onto the bed. It had been mostly trinkets, but the package of condoms that he kept there caught her eyes, and she didn’t have the courage to ask him whether or not he wanted to keep them or throw them away. She wordlessly threw them into the suitcase and reached for the next drawer.
“Wait! Don’t go in there!” Liam called after her.
She had already pulled the drawer open, however, pulling out the envelope that was addressed to her.
“What is this?” she asked, holding the envelope in her hands.
“I was going to give it to you before I left,” Liam whispered as he awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.
“What is it?”
“It’s a- uh, a letter.”
Ali furrowed her brows in confusion and tore open the envelope. The letter was handwritten on Liam’s personal stationary. As Ali skimmed over his words she quickly realized that it was a goodbye letter.
My love,
I’ve been trained for everything I could have ever imagined, but the one thing I was never prepared for was saying goodbye to you. I never learned how to deal with losing you. I never entertained the idea of falling in love before you came into my life.  I never thought I would be able to care for someone as much as you…
Ali dropped her hand down to her side, a scoff leaving her lips as she refused to read any further. She tried desperately to hold her tears back, but her vision was already becoming cloudy and it wouldn’t be long before she was a mess. She had been trying her best not to show him how upset she was, but he was making it difficult.
“Ali?” he said her name softly, reaching forward to place a hand on her shoulder.
“Don’t touch me,” she said, shrugging it off, and moving towards the window.
“You’re mad at me,” Liam stated.
“I’m not mad at you!” she said, surprised at how hostile her voice sounded.
She wanted to scream. She wasn’t mad at him. She was mad at herself. She was mad at herself for loving him. She was mad at herself for not breaking things off when she found out that he was a prince and for getting so attached. Deep down there was always a part of her that was scared things wouldn’t work out between the two of them because of this. Why had she ignored that? She should have gotten out before her feelings for him had become so strong.
“I’m not mad at you,” she whispered, feeling guilty when she saw the hurt on his face. “I’m just going to miss you. It’s easier to push you away than to admit that.”
“I know,” Liam responded, pulling her into his arms and pressing his lips to her forehead.
A part of her wished that he wouldn’t be so understanding. That he would get mad at her for snapping, and they would fight, so it would be easier to watch him leave. But, deep down she knew she would never be able to live with herself if that’s how she parted ways with him. He meant too much for her to be okay with things ending like that.
She didn’t want this to hurt so bad, but she had no idea how to make it stop.
CHAPTER 15
“Are you watching The Notebook?” Ali asked, walking into Liam and Drake’s living room.
“What? No! What are you doing here?” Drake asked, hastily jumping up from his spot on the couch and turning off the tv.
“I’m meeting Liam. He told me to let myself in. I would have knocked if I had known you’d be here,” Ali said, an amused smile on her face.
“Stop smiling like that. I wasn’t watching The Notebook,” Drake said defensively, crossing his arms over his chest and squaring his shoulders.
Ali bit back a laugh and wandered over to the couch, sitting down and snatching the remote from his hand. She turned the TV back on and sure enough, the same movie he denied watching continued to play.
“You know I’ve never actually seen this movie,” she said, pulling her feet up beneath her and leaning back into the couch.
“You’ve never seen this movie?” he asked incredulously.
Ali raised her brows at him in amusement.
“I mean, how can you not have seen this movie? Even I’ve seen this movie. I’ve, uhhh, dated women who liked it,” he tried to say nonchalantly, sitting down on the couch next to her.
Ali laughed, earning herself a glare from the man.
“Oh, relax. I won’t tell anyone that you like The Notebook,” she said.
He narrowed his eyes suspiciously at her but didn’t speak, turning to face the TV once again.
“I really haven’t seen this movie before, though,” she said, honestly.
Drake had just begun to explain the movie to her, she didn’t want to tell him that she knew the premise even though she hadn’t seen it before, when they heard the door to the apartment open and close quietly. They shared a confused look as they heard Liam muttering softly as if he were speaking to a baby.
He walked into the living room, the sleeves of his dress shirt rolled up to his elbows. His suit jacket was bundled up in his arms, and he was smiling down at it.
“Have you finally lost your mind?” Drake asked, taking in the seemingly unprovoked happy look on his friend’s face.
“Yeah, what are you looking at?” Ali asked, getting up from the couch and walking over to Liam.
“I found him on the way home. I couldn’t just leave him on the street,” Liam said as Ali pulled back the jacket to reveal a small brown puppy that was about the size of his hand.
“Awww, he’s so small,” Ali said, placing her hand next to the dog’s nose so that he could sniff it.
He hesitantly pushed his nose against her skin before licking her fingers happily.
“You brought home a puppy?” Drake asked, shocked.
Ali moved her hands up to scratch behind the dog’s ears.
“He was a stray, and he was so young. I didn’t want to just leave him,” Liam said, smiling down at Ali.
She pulled the dog out of Liam’s arms and held him tightly to her chest. He had begun to wag his tail excitedly, craning his neck to lick her face.
“Leo and I always wanted a dog growing up, but our father never let us have one,” Liam said, scratching its back.
“You don’t know how to take care of a dog,” Drake stated.
“But, you do,” Liam said back, looking at Drake hopefully.
The two of them seemed to have a silent conversation.
“We can keep him until we find a home for it,” Drake said.
Liam sighed, disappointed but resigned to the fact that they wouldn’t be able to properly care for the animal. He hadn’t mentioned it to Ali yet because nothing was certain, but his father was struggling with Leo and there had been talks of Liam having to return home.
He looked over to her once again, smiling at how she cared for the animal. She had moved back over to the couch, the puppy sleeping soundly in her lap as she gently ran her fingers across his spine. He wanted to give her the world, a happy ending, but it was seeming harder and harder to do that every day.

Never Have I Ever

Maybe partying this hard was not the wisest choice, but it had been one hell of a week for Stan. After surviving midterm exams, there was also a group project, an oral presentation, and several papers to turn in. As well as his schoolwork, Stan also found himself actively avoid Bill. This turned out to be more difficult than he had first thought since they lived on the same hall of the dorms. Bill hadn’t actually done anything to warrant such a silent treatment, but lately Stan noticed himself developing a strange fixation on his easy-going friend. Little things would catch his eye. Bill’s stardust freckled face. The way he gently bit his bottom lip when concentrating on his novel of the week. Over time, Stan had come to terms with his sexuality regarding his faith and his religious upbringing. That did not change the fact that falling for a straight boy—a straight best friend—was begging for heartbreak. These thoughts couldn’t bother him if he kept himself from constantly seeing Bill.
This is why the glass of Moscato he usually nursed at these Losers’ Club get-togethers tonight became three shots of tequila with a Sprite chaser. The giddy lightheadedness, although not a sensation he usually enjoyed, was miles better than worrying about grades or schoolboy fantasies.
“Stanley, there you are!” An exuberant Eddie appeared seemingly from nowhere. “How did you end up in the kitchen, silly?” Stan had no recollection of making his way to a cross legged perch on top of the kitchen counter, but given the shots and his lovestruck musings, that wasn’t surprising. Eddie just shook his head, giggling. He grabbed Stan’s wrist and dragged him away, “Come on, Stanny-Bird, stop nesting by yourself. We’re about to start a game in the living room.”
“Isn’t Richie supposed to be the one with the stupid nicknames?” Stan teased, finding his voice once again.
Eddie flustered a bit. “Yeah, I guess he’s rubbed off on me, hasn’t he?”
“That’s not all I’ve done to you, Spaghetti, my love,” a plastered Richie crooned from atop their surprisingly sturdy coffee table.
“Fuck off, Tozier,” Eddie retorted with a middle finger and a sloppy wink.
“Will do, babe. Now get in the circle. I want to get some new dirt on you guys.” The boys dropped into place with the others. Stan felt a wave of joy mixed with his drunkenness as he glanced around at the rest of his friends. Beverly and Ben had already squished themselves the sole recliner available. Mike lounged in front of the television, probably already to drunk to move. Bill had, fortunately for Stan, had to finish a research paper of his own, which is the only reason Stan had allowed himself any alcohol in the first place.
“The name of the game,” Richie belted, “is Never Have I Ever! We each take turns declaring something we’ve never done, if nobody cheats,” he shot a narrow glare at Beverly, “and all you dirty sluts that have done it must take a sip of whatever drink they choose. Got it?”
“Shut up so we can get started,” Stan bossed louder than he anticipated. Richie eyed him with a curious gaze which made him tense a little. “Stan the Man! Eager beaver tonight. You’re usually the buzzkill in these things.”
That’s only when Bill’s here. Richie’s expression took a more mischievous shape. Did I say that out loud? Thankfully, Richie either took mercy on Stan or didn’t actually hear anything, because he plopped into his own spot next to Eddie. “Who’s going first?”
Bev leaned forward and almost toppled out of the chair. “I got one. Never have I ever snuck into someone else’s room after dark,” she slurred, sending a challenging smirk in Richie’s direction. He raised an eyebrow as he drank from his beer.
“I see how it is, Marsh,” he replied. Eddie chuckled playfully at the thought of Richie and Beverly duking it out. “Oh, you think that’s funny?” his boyfriend said from under a mess of unkempt bangs. “Alright, then. Never have I ever belted along to Mamma Mia in the shower.”
“Oh, you ass!” Eddie slapped his arm and took a drink. Across the circle, Ben tried to unsuccessfully hide his own raised glass. “See, at least Ben can appreciate some culture.”
Stan watched the ensuing tickle fight, a drunken smile tinged with a touch of longing on his face, unaware of the knock at the door behind him. He loved his friends more than even his own family, but the teasing banter between the couples twisted his chest into a jumbled mess. Every affectionate touch only reminded him that he would never be held by the one boy that he dreamt of. That he would never feel Bill’s hands in his. That when his night terrors woke him in the darkness, he would be alone no matter how fervently he prayed otherwise. At least tonight there was no sign of Bill to make him feel even worse, and he had the tequila to make him feel better.
“Give us a good one, Stanley. I’m getting bored over here,” Mike interrupted Stan’s pity party. He sputtered back to attention.
               “My turn already?”
“Yeah, Eddie went to get the door, so youre next,” Richie nudged him with a bony elbow. “Let’s have some scandals already!”
Stan’s mind drifted and muddled too much to think intricately enough to find anything racy enough for a drunk Trashmouth, so he settled on the first thing his addled brain suggested. “Never have I ever been naked in front of somebody. Well, besides my parents, anyway.” Then again, maybe he could.
“Well, damn,” Richie cawed, as he took another sip of his beer, along with all the other Losers. “I guess Stan the Man isn’t a man just yet. We’ll have to fix that soon, Virgin Stanny.” He gave Stan a salacious wink.
“S-Stan’s a v-v-virgin?” came the familiar voice, giving Stan chills.
Oh, no. No, no, no, no. He’s supposed to be busy tonight. Nevertheless, there stood Bill, cheeks as bright as the tuft of hair brushing the top of his brow. This monolith of Stan’s childhood had indeed arrived. He had tried so hard to avoid the other boy this week, and now he had to maneuver the evening through the haze of alcohol and lovestruck fantasies. Worst of all, because his stupid, unfiltered brain, his crush now knew he was completely inexperienced romantically. Shit.
Mike and Beverly erupted in a cheer upon seeing Bill make his way to the open spot directly across the circle from Stan, because of course he would. “We’re playing Never Have I Ever and apparently already learning some new secrets,” she explained, giving Stan an overly exaggerated grin. The poor boy anxiously bit his lip and stared at Bill, waiting for any reaction. Bill’s eyes were planted on him in an almost melancholy stare.
               “I n-noticed,” he plainly stated.
Stan knew he shouldn’t have hidden from Bill and understood that the other must feel confused and likely hurt. After all, his best friend had basically stopped talking to him for most of a week, all because Stan couldn’t handle falling in love with Bill when he knew that Bill couldn’t love him back. Did Stan truly love Bill beyond a silly infatuation? Gazing at the sullen boy across from him—his leader, his inspiration— he supposed he did in fact love Bill. He loved him with all he was, no matter what his father or the Torah condemned. No matter the pain of his unrequited attachment.
“You guys skipped me?” Eddie exclaimed in only slightly exaggerated irritation. Richie tried to appease him with a giggly peck on the cheek but got an elbow in the ribs for his effort. “Aw, chillax, babe. You got up during your turn, and I’m impatient. I just wanna get to the dirty shit.”
“You want dirty?” Eddie snipped, “Fine.” He turned into the circle in a theatrical fashion usually expected from his ham of a lover. “Never have I ever sucked a dick in a public restroom!” Everybody tried to muffle a cacophony of snickers as Richie’s face turned a deep crimson.
“That is totally not fair, Eddie! You were there too.”
“Yeah, but I just gave you a hand job.” He stuck out his tongue, satisfied and victorious.
“M-maybe I should’ve w-waited a f-few more minutes b-before coming over.” All eyes turned to watch a still blushing Bill unashamedly took a drink of his freshly opened beer. Stan’s blood dropped to a freezing chill.
Eddie, intensely intoxicated, missed what was unsaid yet understood. “No, Billy, I said ‘sucked a dick’ not ‘gotten my dick sucked.’”
“I k-k-know.” Eddie stared quizzically at his reddening face. Everybody else was too dumbstruck to properly react. The up until now straight Bill Denbrough self-consciously lowered his gaze and muttered, “Y-you said you w-wanted s-s-secrets…”
 What. The. Fuck.
Stan had finally been coming to terms with never having a romantic future with Bill—Straight Bill Denbrough—and now here’s the man of his dreams basically admitting he’s not entirely straight after all. This should have brought him an overabundance of excitement, instead it toppled the so carefully balanced platter of stress that had accumulated inside him all week long.
“Well,” Richie had finally regained his ability to form words again. “Hell yeah, Big Bill!” He half leapt, half scrambled over the coffee table to give Bill an uncoordinated high five. “That’s my boy!”
Why hadn’t Bill told Stan this? They never kept secrets from each other. Except for Stan’s feeling of course, but that was for good reason.
“So, are you like bi then?” Bev asked, the game mostly forgotten.
Did Bill not trust him? Or worse yet, did Bill know that Stan loved him and just pretended to like girls as some shitty way of letting him down without flat out rejecting him?
“N-no, I d-don’t think so. I mean, y-y-yeah, I’ve dated a few g-g-girls, but not really because I wanted t-to. You know what other p-people think about…well, about p-people like m-m-me.”
Bill’s eyes grew misty, but Stan was in too deep of a spiral to notice. On a normal day, he would’ve kept his cool. On a normal day, he would’ve given his polite smile until he returned to his room where he could violently sob in secret. Instead, tonight Stan had alcohol, and he had emotions, and he had to find out that the love of his life was gay by hearing him admit to fooling around with someone else during a freaking drinking game!
“What the actual fuck, Bill?!” Stan erupted. The others snapped their heads towards him, Bill uttering a startled, “W-w-what?”
“You’re gay?”
“I g-guess…is that a p-p-problem?”
Stan scoffed. “No. No problem at all. Let’s keep playing. I’ve got one. Never have I ever hidden a secret from my best friend.”
“Stan—”
“Drink, Bill.”
The confusion across his freckled face now melted into pained anger. “F-fine. Never have I ever avoided my b-best friend with no w-warning. D-d-drink, Stan.”
Stan was not about to let this argument turn on him, even if he knew he did not hold the moral high ground. “Never have I ever felt like I couldn’t trust my friends,” he roared.
“N-never have I ever been a j-judgmental asshole,” Bill fired back, equally outraged. Ben, ever the peacekeeper, tried to deescalate the situation. “Guys, let’s calm down before—”
It was out of Stan’s mouth before he could catch it. “Never have I ever shoved some guy’s dick down my throat!”
Bill gave not retort this time. He just quietly set his unfinished beer on the table. Immediately losing all the fire in his chest, Stan tried to take back his words. “Bill, I didn’t—”
“Stop.” No anger. No stutter. Bill was done. He rose quickly from his spot on the floor. “I think I s-should b-b-be g-going.”
“Bill…” Eddie trailed after him.
“T-thank you for inv-viting m-m-me Eddie. Every one of them caught sight of the tears that started to leak from his broken eyes.” Then he was out the door without another word.
Stan’s entire world swirled to a screeching, sobering halt. “Way to go, fuck up,” he whispered to himself, not caring anymore if someone heard, as his own sorrow trickled over his cheeks. “You lost him for good, now.” The shame overwhelmed him, and he buried his face in his arms. A gentle hand caressed his hunched back as a surprisingly sober voice washed over him. “Well, you definitely were an ass, just now, but you can’t lose Bill that easily.”
“Yeah, right, Bev,” he snapped through a hitch in his breathing.
“Stan, the only reason you’re not getting a major lecture right now is because we know. You don’t have to say it. We can see how much you love that boy.” Stan skeptically glanced at each of the Losers who now gathered around him, expecting faces full of anger and disgust. The looks of concern there instead fueled the rising guilt caught in his throat. “I’m sorry, guys,” he croaked in defeat.
“We don’t need an apology, Stan,” Eddie waved it off, “Just know that we love the shit out of you, no matter what stupid things to do.”
Richie, trying to be somewhat serious added, “I mean, look at the stupid shit I do every day, and I’m still here.”
“Bill cares about you just as much too. Probably more so,” Mike offered.
Stan let out a disbelieving laugh. “Yeah, right. He definitely hates me now.”
“Then go apologize,” Bev directed him, getting tired of his wallowing, “Go show him how you feel about him, ok?”
“What if he refuses to speak to me?”
Beverly flashed one of her patented warm-as-sunshine smiles. “I don’t think that’ll be a problem.”
With quivering knees and a massive clump of dread in his stomach, Stan hesitantly knocked on the door to Bill’s dorm, prepared for the worst. The resounding thud bounced away down the lifeless hallway. Stan waited in excruciating silence, almost ready to leave and try again later, until he heard the muffled pattering of uneven footsteps. The door creaked open, revealing a disheveled looking Bill. He had already changed into a worn shirt and the hideous tie-dye slipper socks Richie bought for his secret Santa present this year. The redness around his eyes and the tissue crumpled in his fist, however, suggested that he had been crying instead of sleeping. The shock of such a distraught Bill almost triggered Stan into another guilt driven breakdown, but he blinked back his own tears, determined to say what he had come here to say.
“Stan,” Bill hoarsely spat in an unwelcome grumble.
“Hey, Bill,” Stan replied in his own terrified mumble. The air was empty and tight for a moment as neither boy knew how to continue. “I need to talk to you,” Stan blurted suddenly. Bills brow furrowed into a frustrated divot.
“I t-think you’ve s-said enough,” he dismissed as he started to close the door. Stan jumped forward, lodging himself between it and the frame.
“Please, just wait,” he pleaded, “I want to apologize. You were just trying to be yourself with us—” Bill’s eyes flickered anxiously to either side of them, scanning the hall. “Not here,” he snapped in a harsh whisper, hastily pulling Stan into his room. The door slammed shut, and he locked it behind them. “It’s n-not safe to talk ab-bout that stuff outside.” The light was off, and a blanket cascaded across the floor, confirming that Bill had indeed been having a breakdown of his own. The thought brought a lump to Stan’s throat. “I’m sorry about tonight,” he said, “I shouldn’t have—”
“No, you shouldn’t have.”
That hurt, but Stan knew he deserved such a blunt reaction. Bill was far from through, though. “Do you kn-know how long I’ve w-wanted to tell you guys? D-do you understand w-what it took for m-me to even tell m-m-myself? I hated m-myself for years. I tried to change. I tried to hook up with g-g-girls, but n-nothing worked.
“B-but things eventually g-got easier. The jokes and the s-slurs I hear from the rest of g-guys in c-class every day didn’t s-scare me as m-much. It was finally n-not the end of the w-world if I was…” His stance never faltered, but now Stan was fully aware of Bill’s reddened eyes and wet cheeks. “I w-wanted to t-tell you Stan, I p-p-promise. I f-finally decided that I had t-to, no m-matter how scared I was. B-but then you stopped t-talking to m-me, and when you s-saw me, you would r-r-run away f-from me. I thought you s-somehow found out on y-you own,” Bill rasped, losing his voice as a new stream of tears poured out. “B-but I never thought that y-you would be that d-d-d-disg-gusted—”
“Bill, you are anything but disgusting.” Stan’s heart couldn’t handle any more of Bill talking so honestly about how badly Stan had hurt him.
“I s-saw your f-f-face. Why else w-would you s-say that?”
“Because I was jealous!” Stan exploded. “All I want is for you to ask me out, or hold my hand, or hell, even just look at as something more than just your friend. God knows, I spend every night praying that you’ll notice me. But finally finding out that you’re gay by hearing about you having sex with somebody else? I’m not strong enough for that. I’m sorry.”
An eternity passed as they stood in the dark, both crying and staring at the floor. Stan wanted to leave, to avoid embarrassing them any further, but he also couldn’t bear to leave Bill alone in such an upset state once more.
“I wish it had been you.”
Stan thought he misheard. He looked up, but the boy in front of him still avoided eye contact. “It w-wasn’t a fun experience. I w-was so lonely, I f-found the first guy who was even remotely interested. When he w-was done, he just cleaned up and l-l-left.” He lifted his head, and whimpered as his voice finally broke, “I w-w-wish I could’ve been with someone I l-love. I w-wish it was you.”
Cautiously, Stan took Bill’s hand in his. The sobbing boy reciprocated the touch, clenching his fingers tightly in Stan’s firm grasp.
“I’m sorry, Bill. For what I said tonight, for avoiding you, and for not seeing how much pain you’ve been living with.” He felt the other’s pulse calming in the comforting connection, almost becoming one with his own.
“Stan,” Bill whispered, “d-does it ever g-get easier?” Stan, never releasing his grip, pulled them together, holding his best friend impossibly close. “Yeah, babe,” he cooed breathlessly into Bill’s neck. “It will.”
