AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's March Forecast.

February recap: The conjunction between Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto in Aquarius conjunction has aligned with new tech developments. The Venus-Pluto conjunction heralded OpenAI's new text-to-video generator and the ensuing discussion on its potential political, labor, and artistic effects. Mercury was conjunct Mars and Venus trine Jupiter (with Virgo Moon completing a grand trine & involving the Saturn-Pisces opposition) the day Neuralink tried its first human subject. How will different parts of society react to further developments in cybernetics and body augmentation? Past occurrences of astrological alignments can help us make predictions. Advances in robotics during a major transit in the humanistic sign of Aquarius will challenge us to redefine what it means to be human. On February 10th, around the Mars-Pluto conjunction, a group of people set a self-driving delivery car on fire in San Francisco. These robo-taxis are likely going to increase when Jupiter enters Gemini, and indeed a few companies are poised to launch in other cities.

In other Pluto in Aquarius news, last episode Chris noted there's work in using X-rays to ancient scrolls from Herculaneum and Pompeii that can't be opened without incurring damage. On February 5th, the day of the Mercury-Pluto conjunction, the first images of one of these scrolls have been made available. This fits with Mercury-Pluto themes of lost or buried information coming to light. On the same day King Charles of England's cancer diagnosis was announced--an announcement of mortality. We also had the first privately-funded lunar vehicle landing. Pluto makes large thing imperceptibly small and makes microscopic things enormous.

In Saturn in Pisces news, in 2020 Chris predicted success for Miley Cyrus's Saturn return and indeed she won the Grammy. This also marks part 2 of the Dune movie--the book was written under Saturn in Pisces as well. Other influential sci-fi & fantasy stories were written under Saturn in Pisces like Lord of the Rings, and our hosts predict that a new classic will be born during this transit. In other Mars-Pluto news, we have ambiguous stories about nuclear weapons and Israel's announcement of storming Rafah. Unfortunately the upcoming eclipses (connected to 6 months ago) do not bode well for cessation of warfare. On February 15th, farmers in India have begun striking again, and doctors in South Korea walked out on the job to protest working conditions--Mars in Aquarius squaring Jupiter-Uranus in Taurus reactivates these ongoing labor disputes.

Our hosts recorded the forecast before the perfect Mercury-Saturn-Sun conjunction in Pisces hit on February 28th (the day I'm typing this!), which is one of the major influences over the first half of March. The other big influence is Mars-Venus in Aquarius. In the mutable, indeterminate sign of Pisces, Saturn doesn't bring us as much order as he did in the previous two signs of his domicile.

March 2nd/3rd - Venus square Uranus Venus in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus--either a change is needed to bring us peace and pleasure, or something is disrupting our pleasure. Austin says either way, this placement prompts us for significant changes. Venus's is overcoming Uranus (earlier in the zodiac, has the upper hand), so we can make good use of this placement if we shake things up a little bit in relationships.

March 9th/10th - Mars square Uranus, Mercury enters Aries Mercury has entered the sign where he'll retrograde, stretching what would normally be a transit of a few weeks into 2 months. Mercury in Mars's sign amplifies the wishes of the red planet, who's doing some pretty interesting stuff. In a firey Mars-ruled sign, Mercury wants something practical to do. This clarity and decisiveness will be welcome after all the indecision of Pisces. However, the North Node is in Aries, with the power to obscure things even when it's not blocking the Sun's light. There will be an eclipse here in April, so the pathfinding is tricky. We'll definitely be doubling back as Mercury prepares to retrograde. Sometimes you need to dive into things while you have the vision, yet before you have the rationale. Austin likens it to clearing your way through thick jungle terrain to determine whether a route is viable--it's only by going forward that you find out that you're on the wrong path, and thus, where the right one is. Mercury retrogrades teach us to learn from our mistakes--third time's the charm!

Mars follows Venus's path, and along with Mercury, weighs heavily on the upcoming lunation. Mars-Uranus connotes surprise attacks, sudden severing, unexpected explosions. Internally this can make us feel restless and impulsive. Keywords: recklessness and action without planning. Think of a cigarette being dropped near an oil drum. Technology disruptions are also likely.

March 10th - Pisces New Moon

Saturn and Neptune are close by to this lunation, and though Mars-Uranus is weighing in, Mars in particular is ultimately reporting to Saturn's broader plan. As Neptune and Saturn approach their conjunction, we'll seek escapism and the imaginal as a respite for our fatigue. We need to step out from being immersed in these waters. Mercury conjoined Neptune on the 8th before he left Pisces, leaving the imprint of confused or empathic communications in the air as the lunar cycle resets for the month.

March 11th/12th - Venus enters Pisces From here she builds up to a conjunction with Saturn at 11° on the 21st. As the sign of her exaltation, she's better able to bring harmony and reconciliation in our relationships, though Saturn brings a cool distance to our relationships. She'll conjoin Neptune in this sign next month. We may also see some kind of artwork that resonates with people on a deep emotional level.

March 17th - Sun conjoins Neptune, Electional chart

At around 1PM local time, this chart has Cancer rising with a dignified Moon in Cancer, applying to a trine with Venus at 7Pisces and sextile with Jupiter in Taurus in the 11th house. This chart occurs before things go crazy later in the month and is the best time to start something new. It's especially good for friends, groups and alliances and doing new things outside of the box.

March 18th - Mercury enters shadow (not pictured) Mercury hits 15Aries, the point he'll retrograde back to, at the same time as he conjoins the North Node. This is a precursor of things that will occur in April.

March 19th/20th - Sun enters Aries This puts the Sun in the same time as the Node that will eclipse it.

March 21st - Venus conjoins Saturn Saturn and Venus bring a sort of melancholy beauty to things. Though we may see them at odds for signifying discipline and love respectively, Saturn does exalt in Venus's sign of Libra. In the sign of Pisces empathy is especially relevant--think understanding each other's feelings because we've suffered the same things. Nostalgia is another important keyword.

March 22nd - Mars enters Pisces This puts him on track to contact to Saturn (exact cojunction c. April 10th)--a dangerous combination. Along with the Sun in Aries and Mercury slowing, this represents the event horizon of major developments for the rest of the month and early April. This will be the first Mars-Saturn conjunction in Pisces; note the Aquarius conjunctions in 2020 and later years coincided with the COVID lockdown(s). Sea lane transit will likely slam on the brakes as well, and current maritime conflicts will see big developments. More figuratively we may ask "where are we going, and what dangers lie ahead?"

March 25th - Libra Lunar Eclipse

For about a week things have been building up to this eclipse. Its twin will be visible across much of the United States in early April, meanwhile a comet will start to be visible in the night sky. Mars in Pisces copresent Saturn weighs heavily on this eclipse. The pace of events starts moving quickly and chaotically around eclipse season, and things start to move rapidly up or down, especially for prominent people & companies. This eclipse represents a culmination or next chapter of events started in October--major beginnings and major endings (in the Libra house of your chart for individuals). The picture may begin to get clearer. It's not the last installment, but things are clearly underway. Unfortunately this does not bode well for ongoing global conflicts. We can't see clearly with the eclipse, meanwhile Mercury is slowing down about to station retrograde, while right on the North Node. Combined with dangerous Mars-Saturn, it's a bit of a crazy situation. Jupiter's approach to a conjunction with Uranus indicates some surprising, amazing wins, and some people will find unexpected good fortune once the smoke clears. However, not everyone will be able to count on winning the Jupiter lottery here. (Later in April, when Jupiter conjoins Uranus exactly we can expect some kind of freedom and liberation).

The two weeks between these eclipses will be very active, dramatic, and chaotic, with beginnings and endings galore. In the Indian astrology dasha timing technique, the US Sibly chart has been in a time period ruled by Rahu (north node) since the early 2010s, making any eclipses visible in that country especially important to it. This is a time to be flexible!

Libra Saturday

TRANSITS: 

Moon Oppose Neptune. You will be more easily attentive about indulging your own interests and quandaries, rather than focusing on what actually needs to get done. If you have any deadlines or duties today, you’ll want to place purposeful focus on making sure that is what you spend your time on instead.

Extra Info: If what you need to get done today is business or financial in nature, really truly fight hard not to stray from the related tasks during this time. Successful completion in this area today will serve you well in the near future.

Moon Square Mars. You might start to feel restless about how slowly the changes you want are taking place in your life, and here is where you could make rash or careless decisions. Don’t put things on the line because of impatience. You will end up causing pain for yourself or others.

Extra Info: Your negative side isn’t going to benefit you, not even in the little quirky ways you think it is. However your positive side IS. This isn’t being told to you to make you feel bad - right now you think your good traits are worth less than they are, because they aren’t solving everything you want them to. Give it time. What you are working on IS worth it, don’t dive backward now!

Moon Trine Pluto. Your contact with others with be more extraordinary than usual today. Relatives, especially women, may add an intense spark to your life. Something herein will light a fire under your determination for what you have been yearning for. Your emotional desires and needs will be easily felt by you, and there is a higher than usual change you will put efforts into getting these right now.

Extra Info: If you maintain faith in yourself and keep an optimistic attitude, this period could end up going very well for you actually. However, if you feel horrible about yourself and others during this, you will not find what you are seeking to gain through this.

Sun Conjunct Venus. Good for unwinding and letting the people we care for in. Brings tenderness, tranquility, balance and beauty. Focuses on relationships, creation, and money. This is an enjoyable transit that makes us feel loving towards each other, and is a great omen for bonding with those in our lives.

Extra Info: No need to fear - any relationship changes made during this transit are likely to be positive in nature, not a “trick of the light” for the day.

Mercury Trine Saturn. Good for planning and deliberating your next steps, but it isn’t time to start on these measures just yet. Able to think critically, and pay attention while getting things done neatly. A great time to prepare for your options against something you know to be coming your way.

Extra Info: New opportunities are coming your way, and it is in your best interest to prepare for what you are sensing. 

Moon Oppose Jupiter. Destructs limitations while causing chaos within our inhibitions. Can cause any delusions we are subject to to flare up, and we will feel overly comfortable helping those in our lives who intend to harm us.

Extra Info: Keep it light, keep positive expectations and don’t seek to cause any chaos and you will probably come out the other side of this transit luckier.

Astrology Observations #1

🩵Mars in Gemini and Virgo are very quick learners. They're at their best when they keep themselves busy with new and intellectually stimulating hobbies.

🩵Cancer placements in the big 3 have the most comforting and nurturing energy. These people are so easy to be around and it feels so easy to be yourself around them. I feel like people don’t give cancer placements enough credit for how good they are at making people feel loved.

🩵10th house moons are very loved and admired in their careers. I've noticed a lot of celebrities with this placement.

🩵Neptune in the 11th house can really idealize their friendships and groups and can end up being very deceived by them. Their friends can be very phony and not their true friends at all. 

🩵Leo and Libra in the big 3 makes someone a natural in the spotlight. Fame comes easily to them.

🩵Moon in Pisces or 12th house tend to have very strong connections to their dreams. They can even have epiphanies that help guide them in their life.

🩵In solar return charts, I've noticed that when the transit sun conjuncts the solar return chart ruler, a pivotal moment will happen for that year related to what planet it is. For example, my solar return ascendant in 2022 was in Sagittarius and when the sun made a conjunction with my solar return Jupiter, I received my associate's degree. My previous solar return ascendant in 2021 was in Libra, and when the sun made a conjunction with my solar return Venus, I developed a new long-term crush that inspired me to pursue a new passion. It can be fun to make a note of these dates every year to see what comes up.

🩵8th house synastry is no joke. These connections are incredibly intense and very hard to break free from. It can feel almost impossible to forget about this person. Very transformational as well.

🩵Harsh moon aspects are strong indicators of a wounded relationship with the mother. Pluto square the moon in particular is a very challenging placement for this matter. The mother could have instilled deep trauma and fear in you at an early age.

🩵Positive Mars and Venus aspects make someone incredibly charming. They're often easily liked and admired. I've noticed this the most with Mars sextile Venus.

🩵It's so important to pay attention to your moon sign/house/aspects to discover what you need to feel emotionally fulfilled. For example, I'm a Pisces moon and need to be creative and have a healthy amount of alone time daily to feel content.

🩵Personal Aries placements rapidly need new and passionate energy in their lives. It's so hard for them to stay in situations they're bored and uninspired in. Depending on other placements in the chart that can be more grounding, it's very hard for them to remain committed to a situation for a long time if it's not interesting.

🩵Idk if it's just because I have a Scorpio venus and stellium, but I find Scorpio moon and/or mars men to be so sexy.

Solar Return Observations #2🌻💛

🌼💛Just an update so far, I have a 5th house stellium in my chart this year and life has felt so carefree. Life made me get rid of my old crush and made me focus on myself for a while(Pluto) until just friday I met someone new unexpectedly(Vertex). I havent felt this feeling in almost 3 years its really exhilarating feeling like this and I actually have a good feeling about it. It felt like I was meant to cross paths with him at this point in my life right now because im actually focused on my higher self. I feel that Vertex along with other major planets like the Sun, Mars, Mercury, Pluto, and POF made meeting him feel fated because for one ever since Ive met him ive consequently crossed paths with him multiple times in just the span of 3 days. Its not a deep connection however(5th house) but I hope to beat the odds and make something out of it. So overall, Ive had lots of fun, peace, and new interests in love.

🌼💛So I recently just discovered this, but you can go and find your monthly/daily transit chart and overlap it to your natal or solar return chart to see how your school, career, family, or love life will be. I was wondering why was it that I never got the opportunity to meet someone in matters of romance but i did multiple times in friendships and then I saw that in my transit charts I never had Venus in the 7th house until last month. Venus had always been in like the 11th, the 10th, or the 3rd and school and friends was what was constant in my life. Sometimes even having Venus in the 8th can mean a change in your love life. I even looked all the way through 2022 and 2023 and all 12 months there was not one placement of Venus/Mars/Moon in the 5th or 7th until my transit chart of Febuary 29. Venus conjuncted Mars in the 8th and what happened? I saw the new guy who was exactly my type and I found interest in him. My next transit will be March 30 with Venus, Saturn, and Neptune in the 7th, and Mars conjunct the descendant. Im hoping that things will go well and I can get the courage to talk to him but we'll seeee.

Energy Update: May 2024

May is a "4" Universal Month [5 (May) + 8 (2024) = 13 = 1+3 = 4] in an "8" Universal Year. "4" months are about shoring things up and creating structure. We were put through the wringer during April's intense total solar eclipse and Mercury retrograde cycle, and now we are tasked with picking up the pieces and making something out of what is left.

The Set Up

We begin the month of May with the Sun, Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus in Taurus; Mercury and Mars in Aries, Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, and Pluto in Aquarius. This continues our pile-up of planets which have now been in a sequence of conjoining signs for several months. This indicates that this area of life - stretching from Aquarius and Pisces (the last two signs in the horoscope wheel) through to Aries and Taurus (the first two signs) - needs all of our attention. Something is ending and something is beginning but we are still mid-process.

By month's end, the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter will have entered Gemini and Mercury will enter Taurus. Additionally, Pluto will have stationed retrograde.

The Nitty Gritty

When I say that "4" months have a certain feel, I want to point to May 2024 as a prime example. April was challenging for many people (I hesitate to say most but I think it might be headed in that direction) and it has left a big mess in its wake. It may take some time to gather ourselves enough to pick up the pieces, but May, with both its transits and its 4 energy, will offer us every opportunity to do so. The thing is, "4" energy isn't something that just happens, you need to work for it.

In this, often-lazy Taurus isn't doing us any favors but we are getting quite a bit of support from Mars in its home sign of Aries and Saturn in Pisces. This month's big flex will be to get up daily and put one foot in front of the other. Show up for yourself. There are a couple of potential windfalls towards the end of the month but they will be much more beneficial for those that have put in the work beforehand.

The month begins with a bit of an ending as Venus in Taurus meets up in a fixed square with Pluto in Aquarius. There are a couple of things in play here. The first is that Pluto retrogrades the next day; during this retrograde, it will move backward into Capricorn for the last time later this year. The second is that this is part of an ongoing interplay between Venus and Pluto that stretches back to Venus's retrograde in January of 2022 which was directly conjunct with Pluto in Capricorn.

We are in an ongoing cycle that involves the evolution of relationships (highlighted by our lunar node's transits through Aries and Libra) with a marked push towards valuing the individual over the system as a whole. Venus, through her rulership of our relationship-loving sign Libra, has been in the hot seat for a while now. Now she is in her other ruling sign, Taurus, a sign that can be equally as unwilling to make a change. The problem is that Pluto isn't a planet that can be reasoned with - as one of our outer planets, it is far beyond our control and immune to our influence.

When given the choice to bend or break, Taurus rarely chooses to bend. That will be a problem all month long as our personal planets all move through the sign of the bull and are forced to butt heads up against the inevitability that Pluto brings to the table.

Mars is in play here, too. At the end of April, Venus and Mars entered their home signs which is generally a positive indication for relationships of all kinds. Unfortunately, it brings both into immediate contact with Pluto. This could be a boon for relationships that are future-focused and committed to changing in ways that benefit all people involved. But it will be part of the ongoing stressor for those that are not. This is your cosmic reminder that the North Node in Aries demands independence for all parties during this time; avoid that at your peril.

Pain is on the table. Mercury, now direct, is working its way through its post-retrograde shadow where it meets up with Chiron for the third and final time at 21° Aries. This is very close (within 1°) to the point of our solar eclipse last month which included a rough stellium between the Sun, the Moon, retrograde Mercury, Chiron, and the North Node. We may have moved on (it has been a whole month and we are about to experience a new moon at 18° Taurus), but the scars have barely scabbed over. Monday 5/6 may prove a rough day for many who had difficulty with the solar eclipse as it may echo those same repeating themes.

As a culture, we are taught to ignore our pains but Chiron calls for us to stand up and look at them in the eyes. To know them and where they come from. This isn't the easy path and it can require help (professional or otherwise). All aspects to Chiron support shadow work and healing of all kinds. With Mercury involved, you may want to talk it through or write it out.

This will still be in play for our New Moon at 18° Taurus on late Tuesday night (5/7) or early Wednesday morning (5/8) depending on your time zone. This lunar conjunction is in a strong sextile with Saturn in Pisces. Saturn can be a hard taskmaster, but that is necessary here - after a rough month, we are tasked with picking up the pieces and moving on. This is our first new moon since our eclipse cycle and our first chance to set intentions or to set things right. Taurus can be a very self-indulgent sign, so do your work and get yourself a little treat afterward for morale.

Small consistent steps are the name of the game all month long. Saturn can help us here. Things may feel hopeless (especially if you were rocked by eclipse season or Mercury retrograde) but Saturn reminds us that time changes all things. Today is the first day of the rest of your life, you might as well get going and do something about it.

After that, we sit for almost a full week without any non-lunar aspects. This is always a sign that we need to think about what we've done. This doesn't have to be a bad thing. Keep moving. If today is hard, wake up tomorrow and start all over again. Taurus has a lot of staying power, you just need to tap into it.

5/13 will be a big turning point in the energy of the month. Venus in Taurus will sextile Saturn (another chance to work, I guess?) and Mercury will finally exit their post-retrograde shadow. Additionally, our Sun will conjunct Uranus at 23° Taurus - this starts a major Taurus stellium between the Sun, Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus that won't complete until Venus conjunctions Jupiter at 28° on 5/23.

Ten days to get some shit done, that's nothing to snaggle about. This energy will go from intense to more fruitful. I'd stay very aware and out of the fire on 5/13 (Uranus rules unexpected disasters) - don't handle explosives if you don't have to, physically or metaphorically. Uranian energy is uncontrollable at best, so step out of the way if you need to. But it does tend to encourage change and, with both the Sun and Jupiter involved, we can use this to our advantage.

On 5/15, Mercury finally enters Taurus after its ten-week tour of Aries. This was a really long time to experience our planet of communication in the fiery cardinal sign of the ram. It's been a rough go all around with seemingly everybody having opinions about things they know nothing about. May the know-it-alls fall back into the shadows where they belong. Mercury in Taurus can be a bit bullheaded, but, for the most part, will think before they speak which is a major win. Depending on how your April went, you might need to apologize for a few things you said or fights you picked. Own up now because Mercury will meet up in sextile with Saturn soon enough. In fact, Mercury makes an immediate square with retrograde Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto, like Uranus (who is very much still in play in that major Taurus stellium), acts upon us as an otherworldly presence. We don't get to control how the planet of death and transformation shows up in our lives; the best we can do is adapt to these overarching inevitabilities. Neither Taurus nor Aquarius is particularly adaptable, so this may be a tough day - thankfully, Mercury transits pass quickly.

5/18 is our first benificent day of the month: our Sun is conjunct to Jupiter which brings great opportunities for luck and expansion (especially in the abundant, fertile sign of Taurus), Venus is conjunct to Uranus so chance is on the table, and Mars is conjunct to the North Node in Aries. If you need a change of pace, this is your day. If you are looking for luck, love, or money, this is also your day. I would work firstly with the Sun, then with Jupiter, and finally with Venus. Together this trifecta can pull in the power of otherworldly Uranus and our lunar nodes.

The seasons are beginning to shift again and we look to the late-spring mutable air sign Gemini. Our Sun in Taurus makes a quick and murky sextile to Neptune in Pisces on Sunday 5/19 before entering the sign of the twins on 5/20. Venus and Jupiter aren't far behind which is a major boon to anybody with a strong Gemini element in their charts. But first, our Sun meets up with retrograde Pluto once again, this time in trine rather than last month's square. The changes that need to be wrought this month are getting easier the further that we progress - Gemini, unlike Taurus, is open to bending in the ways needed to accommodate new things. That is, so long as they understand what they are bending for.

We've got a full moon for that! On Thursday, 5/23, Venus conjuncts Jupiter (so, so auspicious!) under the light of the full moon at 02° Sagittarius, the sign ruled by Jupiter. This is our second beneficent day of the month. Both Gemini and Sagittarius are inquisitive signs eager to learn and study. This is an auspicious day for all, but especially for scholars, students, artists, and writers. This is a great day to plan out your (artistic) year ahead, to apply to see your work published or in an art show, or simply to work with the magnanimous energy of Sagittarius to expand and grow. Set out some milk and cookies for Jupiter during this time (or maybe a good glass of scotch) and ask for some inspiration, it will be sure to follow. Later in the day, Venus enters Gemini.

On Saturday, 5/25, Jupiter joins Venus and the Sun in Gemini. Anytime our intermediate or outer planets change signs, the energy shifts substantially. We may find ourselves more interested in intellectual pursuits while Jupiter transits the airy sign of the twins, but we should be wary of Too Many Mind. Jupiter enbiggens everything it touches and Gemini is known for its chronic indecisiveness. Unlike some signs which can be too maudlin to see any options at all, Gemini's indecision comes from seeing too many choices and a desire to explore them all. You may need to take concrete steps to stay on track. (unless you enjoy rabbit holes, I'm not judging)

With Jupiter in Gemini, Gemini season will happen fast and you can see that reflected in Mercury's aspects. Mercury in Taurus makes a tougher aspect to Saturn in Pisces on 5/27 which is a reminder to keep a check on our thoughts during this airy season (always important) and then makes a major conjunction to Uranus at 24° Taurus. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercurial energy - where Mercury is thought, Uranus is pure inspiration, or, sometimes, madness. If you are prone to extreme flights of fancy or intense mania, this is a day to watch out for. If you need a good push to create or be bold, it can be used to your advantage.

Our last aspect for the month is a tough conjunction between Mars and Chiron at 22° Aries - this again is a reminder that when we are not paying attention to our actions, we can end up in some pretty rough places. Mars in Aries would rather run at full speed and is known for not looking where he is going. You might need to reign in some of your impulses as we get deeper into Gemini season, or else you end up sore muscled, and unable to move for a bit.

The week begins in a mellow mood (I think those of us in the US will be trying to thaw out), but when the Moon enters Aries we’re suddenly champing at the bit to go do things. Unfortunately, Mercury stations retrograde only one hour before the Moon goes into Aries - and of course Mars, Aries’ ruler, is also retrograde.

What a weird way to start 2023, with both Mercury and Mars retrograde. Yikes.

That said, it is also kind of nice to start a calendar year under a First Quarter lunar phase. The combination of “take action,” and January 1, is a very productive prospect. Evem better is that on New Year’s Day, that First Quarter Taurus Moon will be trine the Sun in Capricorn. Quite auspicious.

Outer Planet Energies for Week of 21 August to 28 August

A lot of the big aspects from so far in the Venus retrograde ended with the new moon and there's a few new aspects that will be lasting a while. So, a quiet week, but an interesting one in the dwarf planets!

Sedna 0 Gemini 32 to 0 Gemini 33

This is a Martian kind of week! We have a Mars opposition with Neptune, then a trine with Pluto. It’s a week of dissipation and challenge. The threat of addiction and the strength of willpower. But also, from Wednesday there’s a square between Mars in Virgo and Sedna in Gemini that comes in just as the Neptune opposition starts to ebb away.

What I often find with particularly challenging transits is that by the time they hit their apex a sort of natural immunity builds up to them. So, for instance, if a Mars Neptune transit has me indulging in addictions and intrusive thoughts, by the time its power starts to wax I’m already finished with my packet of cigarettes and able to sleep through sheer exhaustion. And that’s where the Sedna-Mars square comes in. Mars is in a problem solving mood, but Sedna just wants a space to complain. 

These are both natural responses to a hard time but they can be mutually frustrating. Mars sees in Sedna an energy that refuses to be helped. All Sedna wants to do is complain and think over things. What Mars doesn’t see is that Gemini is mutable and Sedna is doing the work to find a solution. Complaining about it and thinking things through is the whole of the work, it just takes a while. Mars Virgo can’t solve the problems Sedna helps us work though. By the same note - if your problem is that you keep tripping over something, no amount of emotional analysis is better than the good old fashioned Martian impulse to move the thing. 

It might be hard to find the right tool for the right task this week but there’s also an opportunity there. Sometimes we spend years working on the emotional and traumatic undercurrents of a task when we need to clean our rooms. Sometimes the reason we’re upset by not having clean socks is more important than cleaning the socks. This square might give us opportunities to switch up tools a bit. 

Gonggong 5 Pisces 11 to 5 Pisces 07

The Saturn Gonggong Conjunction is started in April and will end in September and will return December 2023 to February 2024. A big result of the conjunction at least in the UK was a wet summer where plans were cancelled. A lasting effect may be the Antarctic’s shockingly bad year - the Antarctic ice sheets have had their worst year ever, substantially worse than the previous worst year ever of 2022. I know we expect this kind of news but you have to understand sea ice changes slow. The Arctic’s worst year is still 2012. 

Of course, you kind of have to ask, worst for who? I'm not trying to justify climate change, it's bad. But one impact of a hotter Antarctic is cooler temperatures elsewhere, which may if we're lucky reduce the strain on other system for a while. It’s complex and we’re doing astrology, not climate change. My reason for mentioning this is that Gonggong and Saturn in Pisces can also bring emotional flooding which is again not pleasant but can release energies we can use elsewhere. For instance, if climate change shocks and appalls you this week, that might encourage you to campaign against it politically in some way.

Haumea 29 Libra 12 to 29 Libra 17

Haumea and Pluto are in similar spaces. They’ve both had an experimental period in a new sign and are now hanging out in the old sign for a bit longer before going into a new sign full time. Pluto is preparing to enter Aquarius, where it spent the age of revolution and social transformation at the end of the 18th century. Haumea is entering Scorpio for the first time since the mid 18th century where it ruled over an expansion in global trade and industry that led to worsening conditions for the working classes, global war, and a massive expansion in the institution of slavery. 

Haumea in Scorpio feels oceanic to me because the source of Haumea’s egg-like shape and the weird expansion of the planet is thought to be in part connected to an ancient global subsurface ocean. Haumea in Scorpio feels like it’s offering global expansion to Pluto Aquarius’ interest in what’s off and beyond Earth. 

Haumea and Pluto are going to be squared for a long time, the aspect appears at points between 2018 to 2034. That’s with a 3 degree orb. With a more generous orb of 10 degrees - Haumea is squared with Pluto from 2010 and through the whole of the Pluto Aquarius period. From an environmental point of view, this feels like the crisis of living in a society that constitutes personal growth in terms of expansion with an awareness that the planet is not all there is and is, in fact, finite.

This strikes me as really different to Pluto Capricorn and Haumea Libra. Haumea Libra knows what happens when internal pressures for expansion are disbalanced - eruptions and calamity! Pluto Capricorn knows that the world is a hard place and appreciates work and harshness to survive in it. It feels to me like the clash between the need for self care and the fear of poverty. 

Eris 25 Aries 10 to 25 Aries 08

The North Node is coming to a conjunction with Eris. This is the first conjunction like this since 2005 and as Eris is in retrograde it will be very close for a very long time. It will go exact at the end of November after weeks of being dramatically close. I use a 3 degree orb and by that measure the conjunction ends on 1 January 2024.

The Eris conjunction offers a chance to hold your own with your desires, trined Lilith in Leo, there’s power behind expressing yourself. It feels like a time when people will want to show up as themselves and maybe won’t be able to compromise on what that looks like. That sounds empowering, it doesn’t necessarily sound harmonious.

there is a high possibility of emotions starting to go unhinged, lots of drama on their end. i won't be surprised if penalties come out to be more on their end. argentina is in for a fight.

argentina has a high probability to win but there is a challenge with their skills in this game. nervous bc it's showing that they have to stay in control of defense. they may dominate in this area.

the game is on sunday, the day of golds, reds, and yellows. the moon will be in libra so pinks and reds will be prominent colors of the world cup.

for some reason i'm not seeing france winning. it shows more that they will lose control and that may be unusual for them.argentina has a higher chance of winning because their teamwork may be very inspiring to watch. lots of faith from their community/country.

mars in rx makes a ☌ w their natal mars on the world cup game so their strategies are going to be all over the place. they need to stay positive and optimistic this game to win. i'm seeing hope here and uncertainty.

when #ArgentinaVsFrance started kicking at the very end of the game, i looked up the transits for that very moment.

cancer was moving through the 6th house and that's when i knew messi was going to come on top at that moment 🥳💖messi has sun, mercury rx, and mars all in cancer. seeing this in the world cup ending lent transits showed me that he was going to be the one to pull the job and win!

6h rules jobs and the one to take care of the situation. in cancer, someone that has a lot of reassurance and reliability and care!

It's fun being an astrologer and personally living the days transits. My mind has been restless and on edge since going to bed last night. I have a million thoughts going on in my head and am having a hard time concentrating. It's a bit overwhelming really, and making it more difficult to focus. And then I realized ... oh yeah, the Sun trines Mars today.

Yes, the Sun in Libra trines Mars in Gemini today at 24°, a Libra/Venus ruled degree. And given that Venus is at 22° for much of the day (a breakdown to break thru degree that can be a bit chaotic), then anything having to do with your mental processing is going to be a bit chaotic today. If you will view it as a bit of "shaking out the cobwebs" it will help.

That makes this a day in which you need to approach things in a smaller way. Mars only knows one speed: on! So it's going to try to convince you today that all problems must be solved today, all new revelations must be discovered today, and that all things must be known today. Of course that is preposterous ... but Mars doesn't easily take NO for an answer.

The answer is in the 24°, a Venus ruled degree that puts quality over quantity, and value over volume. Use today's trine as a way to accelerate or enlarge your thinking, but don't get too caught up in Mars' "need for speed."

Things level off tomorrow when the Sun moves to 25°, and opens our mind to more intuitive information.

Today is New Moon in Libra an energy which invite us to start new beginnings when it comes to relationship, partnership, and marriage. You may be focused on signing new agreements, planning new project with your business partners and associates or even to plant seeds when it comes to serious love commitments which consequently to lead to marriage. Libra New Moon is also an energy of bringing peace and harmony in our lives and to have pleasurable experiences with close people (personal and professional) and loved once.

Monday, on the other hand, is an interesting astrological day because is full with transits, therefore this energetic boost could trigger events related to work/career, social and relationship aspects in our lives – personal and professional.

Sun is opposing Jupiter which may increase optimism, self-confidence, and positive attitude along with overwhelming tasks and duties which may be too much to handle but we have a choice to put some boundaries in place.

Mercury is in conjunction with Venus which suggest that new relationships/friendships, especially in our social life may appear. Favourable day to participate in social events or to begin new project related to PR, marketing, advertising, trade, publishing… It is also a good time to start a course or any type of study.

At the same time both Mercury and Venus are in trine aspect with Pluto which may have a transformative effect, in a positive sense, in your love relationship or friendship, siblings…Your abilities to communicate and express your thoughts and ideas may have a powerful effect on others and could be very beneficial in your love/marriage life too.

Mars is in trine, positive, aspect with Saturn which can bring support in organising and structuring our daily activities, long term goals and projects. Interactions with authorities, bosses, superiors, etc will do naturally well, and our drive and energy will be directed in a logical and focused manner.

This aspect will be influencing us mainly for the next few days.

Week of 8/12-8/18

Card for this week: 4 of Swords - time to CHILL OUT this week. frustrations and anxieties surrounding the slowdowns and malfunctions of late may be mounting. your next steps will require lots of energy and you're running on reserves right now. if you are pushing your way through, you will likely be slowed down this week if you don't take the opportunity to stop on your own. you have my full authorization to cancel a plan or two and rest...... meditate if you wish...... just find a way to be still at some point.

Transits/Astro forecast: i don't know about y'all. but i'm certainly feeling the retrogrades. i've been reading some tweets from other astrologers implying that the retrogrades will really be intensifying this week. myriad reasons, but i will simply be saying - strap in! back up your files, leave a few extra minutes earlier, and break out the journals. as we know- current rxs are mercury, chiron, saturn, neptune, pluto, themes of summer 2023, spring 2024, and now we've incorporated a bit of late spring/summer 2022! How fun. might as well remember everything once more!

as for specifics-

-mars will be conjunct jupiter (after the last few weeks of mars revving up uranus and causing big shakeups) in the morning on wed. the 14th: your actions are given an extra power boost, for better or for worse. such is the nature of amplification, keep in mind that consequences will be stronger BUT there will be higher rewards for choices made in your best interest.

-mercury retrogrades back into leo late on wed. the 14th: one more time to applaud yourself publicly (even though things are a disaster). it's like the waiter is bringing out your birthday dessert and everyone is singing happy birthday and the power goes out. But you're led by the candlelight and the show goes on.

-mars squares saturn very late on thursday the 15th: i have been having this transit natally (as saturn transits through pisces) and let me just say. nobody can tamp a bitch down like saturn. saturn begs you to reassess, reconfigure, restrategize, learn lessons..... when mars just wants you to blow up and act on your impulses. but the thing this mars square saturn transit has taught me is that sometimes a failure or a road blockage is protecting you from something you should not be getting into. accept the roadblocks as part of your journey and trust you will end up where you need to go.

-venus sailing through virgo throughout this week (no specific dates to note): asks us to critically interrogate our relationship patterns and desires. venus is in fall in virgo - so it's not the most comfortable easy energy, but it teaches us a lot. before venus can enter libra (domicile!), we have to think realistically and logistically about love, beauty, pleasure and so on.

lastly, sunday the 18th is pretty bumping- mercury squaring uranus, mercury also joining with the sun (cazimi!) and venus squaring jupiter very late in the evening. lots of competing energies here - you will be getting a LOT of incoming stimuli (especially drama filled info coming your way) and you have to keep yourself afloat. as mentioned in the weekly card, you will need recovery time to move the way you'll need to in the coming weeks. big things will be happening and it'll be easy to be overwhelmed this week into next week. write down your genius ideas, write down your loudest feelings that you want to express but don't need anyone to know about, set the stage for your new era(s) to occur. just remember to unplug and rest, too.

1. Fire (Sag, Leo, Aries) 

Mars is firey, so lets make it hotter- in general fire is going to continue or be depleted. if you are fire sun moon, or rising you may be completely motivated. hold that on, primarily because this is a time of frustration for things we can not change but accept what is, we can not do more than what time believes. Heal through mastering that creativity, just do the talent you have been literally studying to master, you might be one...

B. Water (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio)

Mars is steaming, and not in the hot way we want. It’s hot to the touch, a desired strength isn’t present. I see us traveling to work with complete tepidness. use this hard time to acknowledge who is there, who is checking in on you, it’s super important to remember its takes a village to nurture. stay away from harm and things that are dangerous, you have nothing to prove... may things be calm in your soul first. This is also a time to heal from this emotional trauma bond. this is a time for yall to heal from the waters that yall rule.
