One of my favorite comments on the Game Grumps’ playthrough for Justice for All is a thread where some people are defending Regina being 16-years-old since the game was localized. In Japan, the legal age is 16, so the argument is that it’s not that weird, it’s just a different culture.
But then there was a comment that clapped back at everyone in which they pointed out the localization changed ramen to burgers, as well as everyone’s names and the location. So leaving Regina at 16 was a conscious choice.
Match Review: Aston Villa Women 1-2 Manchester United Women
The Womens Super League (WSL) season has finally begun, after a delayed start with a summer World Cup, but it got off to a flier for Mark Skinner's side with a scrappy win away at Aston Villa.
With a record WSL crowd for Villa Park of just over 12,500, the atmosphere was lively - and I did my part from the away end to help cheer on the Reds too.
United looked comfortable in possession in the first half but, like yesterday's men's game vs Palace, ultimately toothless. In contrast, Villa were a compact, disciplined unit. They moved well as a team and in a highly synchronised unison. This kept United out and allowed Villa - in particularly Rachel Daly - to threaten on the counter.
The second half saw more risk and energy from United as the rain fell on Birmingham, but the game took until the 74th minute to come to life. Ex-United winger Kirsty Hanson was sent off for a high foot, studs up challenge on Hayley Ladd, and United began to gamble.
This gave a sharper Villa a chance and England international Daly snapped it up, slotting past compatriot Mary Earps at her near post. United rallied and began to hold possession with much more assurance, and the hard work of Lucia Garcia paid off with a goal for the Spaniard just five minutes later.
Substitute Rachel Williams - no stranger to Birmingham having had two spells with the Blues - came on for the debutant Geyse da Silva Ferreira in the 66th minute and it was the veteran who clinched victory in stoppage time with a header in the 92nd minute. The nod wasn't that powerful and seemed to go past Van Domselaar in slow motion, and gave United a deserved three points to start the season.
Villa will feel hard done to given that they played a good game and showed excellent tactical discipline and coordination. Manager Carla Ward spoke to the BBC about the need for full time referees and assistants, rather than the current part-time system. Ward might have been alluding to some 'dark arts' mischief from United's star centre-back Maya Le Tissier (no relation) who body checked Ebony Salmon just outside the box and in front of the referee it appeared. Villa fans were outraged and demanding a red card, whilst United fans played the action down. The middle ground is that it was off-the-ball shithousery and deserved a yellow. It didn't stop a goal opportunity but it was unsporting and deliberate.
That said, Villa also had several occasions of play acting and feigning clips to the calves or ankles. Nothing as blatant as Maya's foul but food for thought.
We end though with Player of the Match Lucia Garcia. After running hard the whole 90 and getting a goal, she gave a rare interview to the BBC and whoops 😂
A United performance we can be proud of though. Up the reds.
Welcome to 'woso appreciation' where @totaly-obsessed and I simp over woso players, and then share our favourites with you in the form of an appreciation post. Enjoy :)

Hello! This is just a little thing so let people know what I ship in which seasons! If you don't see a season on here, I haven't seen that season. If you don't see a ship on here, ask me about it! Let me be clear now, I'm willing to write for the ships, but please check the list or ask me to make sure I'm okay with it. Thank you!

The Grumps have now crossed over from “this case is stupid” to legitimate rage when it comes to Turnabout Big Top. You can tell Arin’s rage side is coming out when he shouted, “WHO WROTE THIS?!” when it came to the joke about Max’s bust. And Dan is doing the thing where he’s sounding tired and defeated, which usually means he’s mad.
What’s funny is that they’re angry at the case for a different reason than most of the people who played it already. I noticed that most people hate Big Top for the underaged Regina worship, or the love triangle. But the Grumps hate Big Top because the jokes aren’t funny, the story isn’t good, and they hate all the characters. They didn’t even notice the Regina age issue until a few episodes into the story.
It’s to the point where they’re convinced a different writer was in charge of this episode, when the truth is that it was Takumi who wrote this. It’s just he was drunk as hell and Capcom gave him as much time for one case in the original game to write ALL of Justice for All.
18. Things you'd do if you're one of the MCU writers
35. Favorite MCU phase
36. A scene that makes you cringe whenever you watch them
38. Favorite and least favorite villain
It's never too late! Honestly, anyone can do any ask meme I've ever posted at any time.
4. NOTP (Least favorite ship)
Hmm. There are plenty of ships that you could not pay me to read, but there’s not really one that stands out above the rest. Mostly because I’m not exposed to them very often--either they’re very rare pairs that I hardly ever stumble across (Sam/Tony, Natasha/Tony) or they’re popular in the parts of fandom I never visit (Tony/Peter, Bucky/Zemo).
That being said, one ship that I just can’t get into, even though there’s nothing at all wrong with it, is Steve Rogers/Phil Coulson. It might be a power dynamic thing? Like, I can definitely get behind a ship where an older and more experienced/secure character is paired with a younger and more vulnerable character. And I can see the possibilities of a ship with a longtime fan who gets together with the object of their hero worship. But Steve/Phil is both of those at the same time, and they combine in a not great way for me.
13. Character you think deserves a spinoff
Okoye-centric Dora Milaje series please and thank you. They have hinted about doing one and they really need to make it happen.
18. Things you'd do if you're one of the MCU writers
I would definitely be including Sam Wilson more in current projects, that’s for sure. There is a new Captain America, and no one in the MCU seems to think that’s worth mentioning? Even in passing? And there’s no indication that he’ll show up in What if…? season 2 either.
35. Favorite MCU phase
My gut instinct was to say Phase 2 (because of CATWS), but on closer inspection it turns out that phase has one movie I love, two I like fine, and three of (IMO) the worst films the MCU has ever made. So maybe not that one.
So like any perfectly normal person, I made a spreadsheet of all the MCU films, ranked them from favorite to least favorite, and calculated the average ranking per phase. According to science, my favorite is Phase 1, with 3 and 4 coming very close behind.
36. A scene that makes you cringe whenever you watch them
The scene in Captain America: The First Avenger where Steve is doing his USO show for the 107th survivors. Cringe isn’t even a strong enough word--I practically have to close my eyes and cover my ears for that part. It is too painful.
38. Favorite and least favorite villain
He’s evolved out of his villain stage, but Loki was fantastic in Thor and Avengers 1. Complex and sympathetic but still genuinely a villain. For different reasons, Alexander Pierce and Justin Hammer are strong contenders as well.
Most of the MCU’s worst villains are just deeply forgettable. Aldrich Killian is probably the worst, though, as he combines forgettability with sidelining Maya Hanson, who was originally intended to be the main villain of Iron Man 3.
