Last spin for tonight: the pack a.d. “Bang” off of their great, old album ‘Tintype’

If there is one band I would recommend to most everyone, regardless of their tastes, it’s the pack a.d. I found this duo years ago via KEXP and they’ve been in my top 5 favorite bands of all time since. Every song’s a goddamned gem. The sounds these two create are amazing. I love them both!

The reader is pregnant asff and she’s home alone when she goes into labor and the crew races to their house and Andy ends up delivering the babies

You weren’t even showing any signs of labor this morning, so imagine how surprised she was when you’d given a distress call to the station.

Initially, you’d called your wife’s cell, three times, but she wasn’t answering.

Which meant she was out on a call, and there was no way she’d make it back in time to drive you to the hospital.

She’d texted this morning, like every morning since the two of you had found out about your pregnancy, and told you who would be working front desk. She told you if you needed anything to text or call them.

You were really thankful it was Travis today.

He would get you to the hospital fast and efficiently, as well as crack a few jokes so it wouldn’t feel like a million years away.

You’d called the station, holding your stomach in the worst pain you’d ever felt.

“Travis,” You groaned. “It’s time.”

“Y/n?” Travis frowned. “Oh, wait, it’s time? Like— like baby time? Like that time?”

“Yes!” You cried. “My water broke and i’m having really bad contractions. Come over right now and take me to the hospital.”

“I— okay. What about Andy?” Travis said, putting the phone on speaker as he put his coat on hastily.

“What about her?” You are leaning against the couch. You sit on the ground on your knees, your chest on the couch cushion. “I called. She didn’t answer.”

“Well— let me switch you to my cell.”

The three beeps came as he hung up, but he was fast about callings you back.

“They just finished their call,” Travis said, a car door slamming in the background.

“Okay,” You say breathlessly, enjoying the feeling of comfort before the next contraction starts.

“Do you want to call her?” Travis asks.

“Yeah. Hold on,” You hang up on him, quickly trying your wife again.

“Hello?” Andy answered, a smile evident in her voice.

“Hey— oof,” You get cut off as the next contraction hit you hard. They were getting closer together and more painful. “I’m— I’m in labor, Andy. You need to get here now.”

“Oh, I— I’m on my way, cariño,” Andy nodded. “We need to go to my house right now.”

She told Maya and you could hear the sirens turn back on as the truck accelerated.

“Please don’t get in an accident,” You plead, “Oh my god this hurts like a bitch.”

“Hey, language!” You can hear Jack shout from the background. “What? The baby hears everything.”

“I sure hope not,” Maya jokes, receiving a slap on the arm from Andy.

“Okay, okay,” Andy rolls her eyes. “You called Travis like I told you?”

“Yes, I called him as soon as I called you the first three times,” You cried out in pain. “He says he’ll be here in a minute.”

“I’m sure he broke every traffic violation to get to you, Herrera,” Maya joked again, and she probably wasn’t wrong.

You were the closest to Travis out of everyone on the team (besides Andy), and he’d probably do anything for you.

Andy hears Travis tell you to get up off the ground and helps you onto the couch.

“Here,” Travis puts a pillow under your back to relieve some of your pain.

There’s some silence as he helps you get settled and check for your dilation.

“This isn’t how I wanted this to go,” You complain.

“I know, but we’ll never get you to the hospital in time,” Travis insisted. “You don’t want to have your baby in my car, do you?”

“Travis, talk to me,” Andy demands.

“She’s nine centimeters, Andy,” Travis looks at your phone with concern.

“Do what you have to. We’re two minutes,” Andy lets out a shaky breath.

“Hurry.”

You can all but hear the sirens as the phone hangs up.

“You got this,” Travis insists. “Andy will be here in a second, and you’re going to be a champ about this. I know this isn’t how you wanted this to go, but your baby will be brought into this world with love.”

“I love you, Travis. You know?”

“Mm, tell me some more,” Travis laughs as you grab his hand, all but crushing all the bones.

Travis cries in pain as Andy bursts into your guys’ house.

“Hi, my love,” Andy gives a quick kiss to your head, then immediately goes to the open spot between your legs.

Maya followed in behind Andy, along with Jack.

Then Ben, Dean and Victoria were in the second truck behind them, so it was a full party in the Herrera house.

Victoria stood by Andy’s side in case she needed to tap out, but Andy never did.

“You got this baby,” Andy nodded. Seeing you were crowning, she told you it was time and told you to begin pushing.

It didn’t take long, and it made sense considering how long it took for you to begin labor.

Ben, Jack and Dean had to step out of the house for a few minutes because it was beginning to be too much, and you were beginning to lose your patience with them.

Maya suggested they go get some sandwiches for dinner and ice for you, because they were beginning to run out of ice to smash up for you to serve as ice chips.

Travis, Maya and Victoria never left your side once, and never complained. You loved them for that.

Travis had to give his hand a break at times, so him, Victoria and Maya switched and held your hand.

You cried the whole way through it, and all but broke all three of their hands.

But in the end you and Andy had a beautiful baby girl.

“Well,” You sighed, holding the gorgeous creature in your arms. “I think we’re gonna need a new couch.”

“Decide on a name, idiot,” Travis chuckles.

The two of you hadn’t really even thought about names. You wanted the gender to be a surprise, so you didn’t know where to even begin. And the pregnancy flew by so fast, you didn’t even realize you were so close to your term.

“How about.. Luna?” Andy looked into your daughter’s beautiful brown eyes.

“I love it,” You smile in content. “Luna Pruitt Herrera.”

“Pruitt..?” Andy looked at you in surprise.

You told her you had the perfect middle name a few weeks ago, but never told her what it was. No matter how much she begged.

“It’s perfect,” Andy kisses you on the lips, the two of you admiring your bundle of joy.

The men did eventually get back with sandwiches, and all of you spend the night together.

(After you take a shower, of course)!

710 felt like a collective fan fiction of S19 by the writers. Maybe this was the finale they deserved and 709 was that for the fans (at least it was to me, personally). Maybe the scenes could work as flash forward scenes after the fire, but maybe not during? It took me out of it.

As a fan, I wished that it might have been something like that…

The cliffhanger for Marina actually paid off. That Carina going back to the scene meant seeing Maya. Like we speculated about Maya collapsing when Carina was about to break the news then she resuscitated Maya. Another missed emotional scene we could have had. The foreshadowing of the focus on the 2 pregnancy test kits could have been a scene in the actual delivery room, seeing the twins. Maybe Andy was even present after that conversation. Or Mama Bishop.

Maybe we see Carina opening her clinic… Maybe Maya became a captain at another station and she met up with Andy and talked about their stations, how they wanted to run 19 together… Maybe she brought Liam along, cos we haven’t really seen him with Tia Andy… Maybe even a guy at the next table at the cafe was smiling at Andy, suggesting the start of something… (I was thinking of the conversation of one of the first episodes when they were outdoors and Maya was jogging…). Kinda a nod to where they started…

Ben would be back on GA so that’s ok… I was thinking maybe we see Jack with Marsha, his foster sister and his bio siblings… to at least complete his arc about his found family and show something about his life after being an active firefighter.

The ending for Vic and Travis felt right for me. Seeing Dean was a nice tribute to his character and a full circle moment for their friendship and a program that he started. The museum scene could even be the actual flash forward where we see Travis with Dominic. Vic needed something fresh that excited her and she could continue to do what she was good at. Travis finally moved on to be in a stable relationship, but not without his bff. Moving out of the house he shared with Michael and out of the city with so much grief felt right for him too.

Tully's wedding, Tully doing something for the veterans, Jinny getting together with Beckett, Theo working as fire inspector could also work in the montage.

Maybe they all meet up sometime in the future and they caught up with one another, ending with them all smiling…

Station 19 Characters as Dog Breeds (as described by the American Kennel Club).

This post might be a bit of a scroll, but I think it's worth it.

Maya: Border Collie

"A remarkably bright workaholic, the Border Collie is an amazing dog, maybe a bit too amazing for owners without the time, energy, or means to keep it occupied. These energetic dogs will settle down for cuddle time when the workday is done. Borders are athletic, medium-sized herders standing 18 to 22 inches at the shoulder. The overall look is that of a muscular but nimble worker unspoiled by passing fads. Both the rough coat and the smooth coat come in a variety of colors and patterns. The almond eyes are the focus of an intelligent expression, an intense gaze, the Border's famous 'herding eye', is a breed hallmark. On the move, Borders are among the canine kingdom's most agile, balanced, and durable citizens. The intelligence, athleticism, and trainability of Borders have a perfect outlet in agility training. Having a job to perform, like agility or herding or obedience work is key to Border happiness. Amiable among friends, they may be reserved with strangers."

Carina: Boxer

"Loyalty, affection, intelligence, work ethic, and good looks: Boxers are the whole doggy package. Andy: Airedale Terrier

"His size, strength, and unflagging spirit have earned the Airedale Terrier the nickname 'The King of Terriers.' The Airedale stands among the world's most versatile dog breeds and has distinguished himself as hunter, athlete, and companion. The Airedale Terrier is the largest of all terrier breeds. Males stand about 23 inches at the shoulder, females a little less. The dense, wiry coat is tan with black markings. Vic: Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

The unique wheaten coat is low-shedding but needs diligent care to avoid matting. The hallmark of these merry extroverts, and what sets them apart from other terriers, is the silky, gently waving coat. Dean: American Staffordshire Terrier

Travis: Akita

"The Akita is a muscular, double-coated dog of ancient Japanese lineage famous for their dignity, courage, and loyalty. In their native land, they're venerated as family protectors and symbols of good health, happiness, and long life. Akitas are burly, heavy-boned spitz-type dogs of imposing stature. Standing 24 to 28 inches at the shoulder, Akitas have a dense coat that comes in several colors, including white. The head is broad and massive, and is balanced in the rear by a full, curled-over tail. The erect ears and dark, shining eyes contribute to an expression of alertness, a hallmark of the breed. Theo: German Shepherd

"Generally considered dogkind's finest all-purpose worker, the German Shepherd Dog is a large, agile, muscular dog of noble character and high intelligence. Loyal, confident, courageous, and steady, the German Shepherd is truly a dog lover's delight. German Shepherd Dogs can stand as high as 26 inches at the shoulder and, when viewed in outline, presents a picture of smooth, graceful curves rather than angles. Sully: Plott Hound

"The Plott, a hound with a curious name and a unique history, is a rugged, relentless hunting dog who is a mellow gentleman at home but fearless, implacable, and bold at work. The hound with the curious name (we'll get to that) and unique history (we'll get to that, too) is a streamlined, long-tailed, light-footed hunter standing as high as 25 inches at the shoulder. The flashy coat comes in an array of brindle-stripe patterns, from black flecked with gold to flaming orange and russet, in addition to some solid colors. The medium-length ears hang gracefully, and the leather of the nose, lips, and eye rims are black, setting off an inquisitive and confident expression."

Warren: Mastiff

"The colossal Mastiff belongs to a canine clan as ancient as civilization itself. A massive, heavy-boned dog of courage and prodigious strength, the Mastiff is docile and dignified but also a formidable protector of those they hold dear. For the uninitiated, a face-to-face encounter with these black-masked giants can be startling. A male stands at least 30 inches at the shoulder and can outweigh many a full-grown man. The rectangular body is deep and thickly muscled, covered by a short double coat of fawn, apricot, or brindle stripes.
