Codywan Headcanon/AU that lives rent free in my head
I think my favorite codywan headcanon/AU is that they are just so good at being professional and discreet when they need to, for literal years, that no one knows they are a thing.
Like my favorite idea of codywan is that they both agree their duties and obligations come first. Honestly they kinda deal with it like a business contract. They sit down and agree: yes they have feelings for each other, yes they want to be together, yes they want as much as a relationship as they can get now since they both never know when one of them might die, yes they need to put their war duties first, yes Obi-wan will always put his Jedi duties first, yes Cody will always put protecting and creating a future for his brothers first, yes the will keep this relationship under raps as it could be under scrutiny for breaking GAR and Jedi rules, yes they will only act as a couple when off duty.
They are just the opposite of Anakin and Padme, no one knows about them. Cody and Obi-wan aren’t trying to hide it per say, they just are so good at being The Commander and The General that no one would ever think they were anything but professional coworkers and maybe friends. Even if there are signs they may be more, their friends and family overlook them because ‘Cody’s too strict about following the regs to be interested in a relationship’ or ‘Obi-wan is too focused on being a model Jedi and following the Code to be in a relationship’.
They are too good at balancing their lives and being ‘The Unproblematic Couple™’.
So when the war ends and they defeat Palpatine, save Anakin and get the clones rights (because we only Stan happy endings in this Codywan house), they both agree mutually to take a break.
Cody takes time to find himself away from the GAR and being The Commander. He spends time with his brothers and helping them all find their feet once they leave the GAR. He helps build a life for them all, while also taking time to find who he is besides a soldier.
Obi-wan spends time reconnecting with Anakin and Ahsoka, making amends with both of them. Getting to finally return to being a peacekeeper and not a General at war. I imagine he would maybe step down from the council to just be a simple Jedi. Not Master of Sorensu, youngest ever High council member, The Negotiator, General, or Sith Killer.
After their short break they agree to start meeting up again, seeing if they still feel the way they did about each other when not in the stressful environment of war and an army setting. But, lo and behold, they still of course love each other. (All the while everyone just assumes it’s Obi-wan and Cody meeting up as ex. Coworkers. They used to be the best of FRIENDS during the war)
After Obi-wan sees Anakin is fine (living with his wife and kids) and the rest of the Order isn’t in dire need of his help, and Cody sees his brothers are finding their feet in the world without need of his leadership, they both just decide they’ve been dating long enough (a few year during and after the war) and they’ve put other duties ahead of theirs relationship long enough.
They just fucking get married and buy a house. Obi-wan leaves the order and Cody moves away from his brother. And they just get married.
WHICH COMES OUT OF NOWHERE TO EVERYONE ELSE. Everyone’s like “??!!!”, “since when have you two ever been together?!”
And fucking Obi-wan and Cody (with biggest deadpan older brother energy) just say “oh yeah, since like the middle of the war? We thought you guys knew? It just never came up in conversation?”
Just absolutely bamboozling everyone in their lives. Rex and Anakin both are like “YoU nEvEr ThOuGhT tO tElL mE? YoUr BrOtHeR?”. Cue Obi-wan and Cody vaguely shrugging and saying ‘there were more important things going on’.
But yeah I just like the idea of Cody and Obi-wan jump scaring their families with their relationship.

Note
Hi! I’ve read lots of CodyWan, and nothing is hitting anymore. I like very specific things, and I’ve read all the popular fics, but if you could recommend me stuff with this criteria loosely…
IMPORTANT
-With or without smut
-over 30k words,
-complete fics preferred, but if it is ongoing it has to have been updated less than 3 months ago.
MAIN POINTS:
-forbidden romance, like Cody and Obi-Wan have to sneak around to stop people from knowing
-must have happy ending. Doesn’t need to be a complete fix it but I just want them to end up happy
LESS IMPORTANT BUT I STILL LOVE:
-Sith Obi-Wan. Enemies to lovers never fails.
-Cody doesn’t have rapid aging, or it’s mentioned that it stops eventually or the chip fixes it.
-good brother relationship between the vode, especially between Cody and Rex
-clones speaking mando’a!
DO NOT INCLUDE:
-major character death
-too much angst
-any 212th/obiwan, cloneship, or poly ships including Obi-Wan or Cody. Just the two of them.
I know this is quite specific but I need a fic rec that I haven’t read before, and CodyWan was the ship that brought me to AO3! If you can’t find anything that’s okay but if you have any good recommendations, please tell me!
Hmm… Honestly, I can see why it’s hard to find fics that fit these criteria.
My first thought was The 212th Medic Skull Has Had Enough series by ihathbenobiwankebobied (@ihathbenobiwankenobied). It’s a collection of shorter fics, but overall more than 50k words long and there’s lots of sneaking around (and whump but they’re pretty fluffy at the same time! It's not too angsty in my opinion and the secret relationship aspect makes it kinda fun).
Regarding the Sith!Obi-Wan fics, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Name of the Game by esama (@esamastation) and I got my head checked by frostbitebakery (@frostbitebakery), both of them are amazing, but you might’ve read them already.
Since you said you’ve read a lot of fics, I checked ao3 for works I have not read yet, but you might be interested in them:
Peace in the Realm by Rosawyn: looks like a really intriguing medieval AU, completed, 85k, rated M, Cody and Obi-Wan are in a secret relationship
No End in Sight by TreeOfTime: rated T and up, completed, 31k, Sith!Obi-Wan, and seems promising in terms of sneakiness, since Cody’s Qui-Gon’s commander and Obi-Wan fights on the side of the Seppies.
The Good Sith series by sonnyrain: It’s long and ongoing, but it was recently updated (and 8 works are already completed) It’s a time travel fix-it, and as far as I can tell, Cody and Obi-Wan are forbidden from loving each other at first and will only get together later on.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Snippet Sunday! (Codywan fluff)
Here's a flashback scene from Chapter 5 of Dear Fellow Traveler, a post-Order 66 Codywan fic I wrote because I refuse to let this man's story end off-screen. It also works as a short one-shot on its own, and I am extremely impatient, so you get to read it before the rest of the chapter is done!
Tumblr media
The moment the last trooper files out of the war room, Cody makes his move. In three short strides he bridges the distance between them, impatience turning his steps sharp, echoing off the durasteel walls. They had agreed before the briefing to stand back, to let Commander Tano take charge. That alone would have prolonged the affair, but, as usual, General Skywalker was less willing to restrain himself. Shocking. Their bickering had dragged them ten miserable minutes overtime, and eaten into the already minuscule gap they have between meetings. Still, the noise Obi-Wan makes when Cody presses him against the console makes all the waiting worth it. Obi-Wan turns within the cage of Cody’s arms, his hands falling easily into their usual places; one on Cody’s shoulder, the other cupping his cheek.
“Do you pretend to be surprised, just to humour me?” Cody asks, a smirk tugging his brow high. “I thought nothing could get past a Jedi’s intuition.” Obi-Wan laughs, a soft little hum like bees among spring blossoms. Cody wants to kiss him then and there, wants to swallow that perfect sound, but Obi-Wan speaks before he can move.
“I’m afraid this Jedi is suffering the effects of too little sleep and too much…” He trails off, nose crinkling as he looks for a fitting end to the sentence. Even exhausted, even alone with Cody, still determined to maintain his eloquence. Cody can’t help his grin.
“Too much General Skywalker?” he offers. Obi-Wan gives him a shrug and a resigned smile.
“I found another one this morning,” he says, like a petulant child, and it takes Cody a moment to realise what they’re talking about. Once he does, he feels a laugh bubble up from deep in his chest. Again, he leans in, but Obi-Wan swats playfully at his chest before their lips meet.
“It isn’t funny!” he protests. “There’s more of them by the day.”
Cody rather reluctantly lifts one hand from Obi-Wan’s hip to comb through his hair. Sure enough, he finds a few more strands of silver among the auburn. Up this close, Cody can follow the lines worn in Obi-Wan’s brow and around his eye, deeper with his frown. He’s let his beard grow out longer than it used to be. Not that anyone aside from Cody has noticed. It, too, now has one or two greys peppered through it.
“Old man,” he teases, just for the scandalised reaction it gets from his general.
He’s never been able to understand Obi-Wan’s aversion to his own ageing. As far as the clones were concerned, it was a point of pride and a privilege to live long enough to notice signs of age. Besides, as far as Cody is concerned, Obi-Wan only looks better like this. More experienced, more refined. The lines on his face are a tapestry, a testament to years of battle, years of life. He wants to tell Obi-Wan that. To let him know that each grey hair he finds is just proof of another day that Cody falls more in love with him, that every time he smiles all Cody can think about is kissing the creases that grow at the corners of his eyes. But he’s never been as eloquent as his general. And in the moment he hesitates to look for the right words, the chance is stolen from him by the chirp of his commlink.
“Sorry,” he says instead, letting go of the air he had wanted to use to sing Obi-Wan’s praises. His head falls forward, their foreheads pressed together. “Rex is expecting me. New batch of shinies need orientation, and–”
“I understand, my love. It’s alright. I really ought to be going, too. I’m already late for a council meeting.”
Silence falls. Reality is an ambush predator, jumping at its chance, stealing the room. Cody feels its claws sharp in his sides. Heavily, he lifts himself away from the console, forcing his posture straight as Obi-Wan adjusts his robes. They are not unused to this routine of stolen seconds and unfinished conversations, always cut short by their duties. It’s unavoidable, unchangeable, as rigid and unyielding as the armour on Cody’s chest. It’s how things are. It’s how they have to be. Cody can't expect Obi-Wan to shirk his duty to the Jedi, just as Obi-Wan would never dream of keeping Cody from his men. Their love can exist only in whatever gaps the war cares to leave them. A flower growing between jagged rock faces, sparse but stubborn, stealing the raindrops that slip between the cracks and straining to snatch glimpses of sun.
Silently they walk to the door. For a moment, both pause, unwilling to be the one to break the seal and invite the world back in. Obi-Wan finally moves, reaching for the control panel, but Cody grabs his hand instead, making the decision in a split second. He pulls Obi-Wan in by his waist, gripping tight the thin fabric of his tunic. Whatever question was poised to spill from Obi-Wan’s parted lips is stolen when Cody kisses him, deep and driven and sure. Determined that Obi-Wan should feel him there for the rest of the day. His general softens within his arms, melting into the embrace, though his grip on Cody’s forearm is vice-like. They're both breathless when Cody finally decides his job is done. Before he pulls away, though, he chances one final kiss, quick and fleeting, to the crow’s feet at Obi-Wan’s eye.
“You're gorgeous like this,” he says, lips ghosting across skin. “I love you like this.”
Up this close, he can feel the sharp, trembling breath Obi-Wan lets out, hot against his neck. Speechless at last. Cody grins, gives himself the indulgence of a few more seconds to bask in the sun. Then, he moves. Lifts his hand from Obi-Wan's waist. He puts a strategic foot of distance between himself and his general, clears his throat, rolls his shoulders, and opens the door to let the world pull them apart once more.

20 Questions for Writers
Thanks for the tag @cacodaemonia I think I've done this one too, but some things have changed because I've written more. :D
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I have 97 works posted on ao3. About 15 of them are fics and the rest are art, ficlets, drabbles, or combinations.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
My total count is 257,934 with nearly 100k for this year already!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Star Wars, mostly The Clone Wars, but also The Bad Batch, SW Legends, and combinations.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
the longest klick (TBB, Mayday&/Crosshair)
say you feel the same way too (TCW, Echo/Fives)
cabin fever (Star Wars, Cody/Obi-Wan)
codpiece chaos (TCW, Echo/Fives)
nearly a skywalker (TCW, Gen, lots of Rex!)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! Sometimes it just takes me a while.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hmmm, I tend to not write fics that end angsty. I usually like to have my angst with a happy ending. I honestly can't think of any... *shurg*
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Ummm, most of them???Maybe the longest klick because Mayday deserves so much better? I mean, they all do, but he just pulls at my heart strings so heavily.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No yet! *crosses fingers*
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Heh, heh, heh, I doooo! It's mostly clone/clone and I give them a hard time *snickering*, but I did write Ahsoka and an OC, a while back. I've never posted it and I'm not sure I ever will. I've got to get everything else out of my hear first.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Other than within Star Wars? Nope, not yet.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
*knocks on wood again* Not yet!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, but that would be really cool!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have and it was a hoot to write. <3
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Probably Echo/Fives, but Codywan was my gateway drug to tcw. I think Finn/Poe was the first Star Wars ship though.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Want to finish? Uhhh, all of them, but the 'want to finish' and the 'probably never will' are two separate piles.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Not my wrists. XP Ummm, I really like to do research and try to make Star Wars things seem more plausible. Is that a strength? *shrug*
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing in the wrong tense for paragraphs or even pages without realizing it. Typing.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I like to write bits and pieces of Mando'a and other Star Wars languages (some I make up), but unless I have the other person confused and then the whole thing translated, I feel like it's harder to read.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Pacific Rim (never published) ... although, now that I think about it, I could just post it anonymously? *thinky face*
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
A toss up between the longest klick and in the wake of darkness
Tagging!
No pressure tagging for @seascribbling @flowerparrish @frostbitebakery @insertmeaningfulusername @spiritofthenortheners and anyone else who wants to take a crack it it.
The template is under the cut.

Fic Writer 20 Questions
I got tagged by the lovely @thejediandthemandalorian thank you 💜💜💜
1.) How many works do you have on ao3
15
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
147,444 words
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
"Writing" is such a strong word. Codywan is the one that inspires me the most at the moment to the point I want to add little backstories.
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
I Got My Head Checked
Outtakes of IGMHC
Art for IGMHC
black
Codywan Art and Hubris
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to!! When someone is kind enough to leave a reaction, I should thank them at the very least! Excuse Number 1: I get overwhelmed easily. Excuse Number 2: Especially with long or thoughtful comments, when I answer those I feel like that's the end of that interaction and I don't want that to end
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
It's gotta be one of the Mood Color Panties that ended with an emotional cliffhanger...
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uhhhhh in terms of happy ending to fic setting ratio? Probably the MCU/Snowpiercer crossover that ends somewhat like the movie wherein they discover that not everything on the outside world is dead and gone.
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet? *crosses fingers*
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I have written smut. With BDSM and lingerie. But I don't feel the smut groove anymore. Once in a while I do like to dabble in erotica when drawing though
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I've officially written one (1) crossover of MCU/Snowpiercer. Unofficially, I've chucked words at friends about The Covenant/Fantastic Four where Johnny Storm and Chase Collins are roommates for whatever reason and Chase is trying to close a portal to Hell and fighting off demons while Johnny is oblivious to it all until his Lucky Charms are gone.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of. Plenty of art got stolen though.
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yus! A smutty stucky one-shot got translated into Russian
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Does The Unlucky Ones count??? I just wanted spoopy Cody but I can't not do backstory for AUs, so my mind is churning out the lore. Then @adiduck was like, “hey, I have some ideas for TUO, how about--“ and then I buried her in the sandbox. The only bits I wrote (with Adi's blessing) are the snippets on the artworks. She is writing the fic while we both excitedly yell at each other.
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
Just one???? All of them have a special place
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I don't have any fic WIPs atm
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh quite a lot of people pointed out that my pacing is good, and some people like my humor! Thank you <3
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm too rushed. And like, a whole lot of technical stuff I don't know.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I like it. It can add a lot of things to the characters, plot, or setting. What I personally don't like if the words in another language are in italics.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Weiß Kreuz. It's in German and the forum it was posted on is long gone. There's an FMA fic on ff.net still. You won't find that one either.
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
I Got My Head Checked :D It started as a naive "lolol what would I want Sithywan to look like? just the once", grew to "But listen, Glimmer, it would be so funny if Sithywan is like "I need a week" as his estimation for how long he needs for Cody to spill every secret ever to him, and it ends with Sithywan just getting up in the cell like he's never been injured/tortured at all and going like "Thank you, that's all I need" like some method acting Black Widow type, but internally starting his journey of “omfg I want him carnally and emotionally””, and then it spiraled into 75k words with more catharsis for me as a person than should be possible. And a greenhouse. More IGMHC trivia!!
Oban Ouaine, Qui-Gon's Cody's Venator, is Gaelic for little green bay. I wanted a connection of Qui-Gon and his fandom plants. And I thought Oban Ouaine sounds a little bit like Obi-Wan
the original plan was that the whole Venator is like a jungle with plants everywhere. @elwenyere brought up "they have a greenhouse?" and I ran with that instead, not knowing it would turn into a central stage for hope and healing for the characters
TAG YOU'RE IT: @adiduck @elwenyere @ifonlyweknewwhatiwasdoing @meebles @merlyn-bane @wrennette @lttrsfrmlnrrgby and anyone who wants to bc this was fun!

20 questions for fic writers
Thanks for the tag, @flowerparrish! :D
How many works do you have on ao3? 213, but somewhere between like 85 and 100 of those are just images.
What’s your total ao3 word count? 1,049,952
What fandoms do you write for? Clone Wars
What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Many of the top works are art-only, but if I sort through, looks like most of the fics are those that I have never reread or re-edited, so 😬
That’s Not How It Happened (This Is How It Happened) - My first fic, which I have re-edited since first posting it. Chip arc fix-it
Orbital Decay - Haven't touched this since I posted it. Codywan
Modulation - Also don't think I've re-edited this at all. Echo/Fives
Will You Walk With Me? - The only one of the top five that I care much about XD; Waxer and Boil (platonic or pre-relationship)
Kintsugi - Not re-edited. Codywan
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes! I love replying to comments with my usual unhinged yammering :D
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending You're Just Harder to See Than Most, but it's part of a larger series where the sad stuff in this gets better. As a stand-alone, though, it's very angsty 🙈
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hah, so many XD Maybe Count Every Beautiful Thing?
Do you get hate on fics? No, I've only gotten it for art, and thankfully AO3 isn't infested with pearl-clutching busybodies like Tumblr is, so I've only had one (honestly hilarious) hate comment there. It was on like the 6th chapter of a a very clearly tagged sketch dump in which several of the previous chapters were fairly explicit smut. And then on that last chapter, the person was like "Ew, they're brothers! This is disgusting." Hah, okay pal, seems like you were really enjoying it if you got to chapter 6. 🤣
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Sure do! Uh, a variety, I guess, though I suppose I haven't written anything that would be considered heavy kink?
Do you write crossovers? Nope
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of, but I've had TONS of art stolen.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope
Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes!
What’s your all-time favorite ship? This is very hard to answer because I tend to latch onto ships for many years at a time. But no other characters before the clones ever inspired me to write fics, so I'll go with Waxer/Boil 🧡
What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? I have an AU fic where the war ends shortly after Geonosis that I really want to write but can't make the brain go very well on it, for some reason. I have pages and pages of notes, some sketches, and like a chapter and a half drafted, but I keep getting stuck. I wouldn't say that I doubt I'll ever finish it, though. I probably just have to shake things around to knock loose whatever is gunked up.
What are your writing strengths? Maybe natural dialogue?
What are your writing weaknesses? I want to describe all the things. I want to put what I see in my head into your eyeballs. But I also tend to over-describe like, logistic-type stuff, I think—stuff that no one but me cares about XD
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Like a real language or a conlang? I don't know any of either well enough to include much of them in my fics, but when I use a bit of Ryl (which I've largely made up), I really limit it because I get annoyed when there's a ton of conlang in fics I'm trying to read. Scrolling to the end notes constantly is not very fun.
First fandom you wrote for? Clone Wars
Favorite fic you’ve written? Hmm, well I have a soft spot for Will You Walk With Me? but I think my two objectively best fics are My Heart's Red Muscle (78K Waxer/Boil cyborg AU) and We Could Breathe Underwater (5K Force-sensitive Waxer/Boil).
That was fun!
No-pressure tags: @lizardberries @elismor @valkeakuulas @blackkatmagic @amukmuk

5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, yes! Sometimes it takes me a little while to write back if things in real life are hectic, but eventually I do, because I love chatting with readers about what they noticed in a story and what I was thinking about/working on while writing.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I have never written what I would call an unhappy ending. But sometimes what we know about the canon ending can still make the ending of a fic bittersweet, and that's true of a fair number of fics I've written. I think the two fics that leave canon angst most fully on the table are my MCU ficlet A Stitch in Time, which is about what else Steve might have done while returning those stones, and my wee Star Wars piece Yes, It Feels Like That, which is a moment with Leia's grief during ANH.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I swear: I used to write plenty of fics that were happy all the way through! That happens a lot less frequently now. But Right on Time is just about the happiest ending I could give to a post-war Codywan, and my Sambucky fic Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice is (to me) maybe the funniest fic I've written.
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
I've been very lucky with readers who are largely very generous.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I am a relative newcomer to writing smut, but I have dabbled, yes. I'm not sure what kind of smut it is. Feelings-forward, I guess?
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I think the only thing I've written that could come close to being classified as a crossover was my very first multi-chapter fic, Should You Choose to Accept It, which included characters from both the mainstream Avengers and Agents of SHIELD and mashed up the plots of Iron Man 3, CA: TWS, AOS Season One, and Mission Impossible 3.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not yet!
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yes! The Stony identity porn/professor AU fic Citation Needed was a collaboration with the incredible @festiveferret, and it is the most fun I've had writing fic.
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
Cannot pick a favorite, but my first OTP was Mulder/Scully, and they will always have a special place in my heart.
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
God what a painful question. 😅 I am a stubborn bastard, and I don't know if I've fully admitted defeat on any of my WIPs, even the ones I've neglected the most. But the WIP that's probably been waiting for my attention the longest is the sequel to my Stony fic Three Little Words; or, Five Times Steve and Tony Didn’t Actually Apologize + One Time They Did, which I cannot abandon or scrap for parts because I'm really attached to the bits that I have written, but which I haven't been able to make progress on for a long time. Bug me for snips about it if you like: I would love to be able to share what I have so far.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
A borderline aggressive amount of figurative language, narrative beats that feel layered, and I think I have a decent ear for dialogue.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm so, so, so inexpressibly slow, and I also build up increasing levels of anxiety about WIPs when I'm not getting outside perspectives about them, so I find it nearly impossible to write anything longer than 20k.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I have experimented with this a little bit in the past, and I'm currently trying it again in a WIP in a language I'm not deeply familiar with, which is nerve-wracking. But I think it can be so effective when done well, and I'm excited to keep growing in that area.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Stony in the MCU: a missing-scene fic from Endgame
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
I love all my children equally, but my Codywan fic Recollection is probably the fic that felt most ambitious to me at the time that I wrote it: memory-related temporal shenanigans, surreal scene changes, some heavy psychic territory, and my very first smut scenes. I'm proud of how many new things I tried.

Hello there! I’ve been going through your list of codywan fic recs from when Kenobi aired and was wondering if you had any others! All have been so wonderful so far!
Hi!! I am SO sorry I took this long to respond. I entered new fandoms and lost contact with Codywan for a bit but I'm back! 4 fic recs and one shameless self-promoting just for you :)
Codywan Fic Recs Part 2
Pave Your Way with Stones Well Chosen by TrickyTricky (18 899 words) Mature
Summary: Cody has always been a man of singular focus and exceptional skill. When he suddenly finds himself loosed from the chip’s control, after years of service to the Empire, there is nothing to be done but to use every resource in his arsenal to carve out a new life for himself. He will free what brothers he can. He will find the Jedi his hands were forced to betray and make things right. He will build them all a haven to shelter from the cruelties the galaxy has never stopped inflicting.
And perhaps, somewhere in the midst of all that, he can find a way to make peace with himself again, as well.
One of my all time faves. It's very Cody and Vod'e centric, which I absolutely adore. I also really liked how Tricky handled and wrote Cody and Obi-Wan's reunion seeing as they are traumatised people who have lived through and done horrible things. Graphic Depiction of Violence, so if that's not your thing, I suggest skipping this one.
Next three (3) are Sith!Obi-Wan AU
different kind of danger in the daylight by Serie11 (29 202 words) Explicit
Summary: The Clone Wars are hurtling towards their third year when a new actor enters the field – a Sith with mysterious goals and an even murkier history.
Cody leads the 221st, and reports to General Jinn. But when he finds himself entangled in a dark plot that spans from one edge of the galaxy to the other, the only thing to do is cut the knot at the centre – no matter the cost he will have to pay.
Obi-Wan hates war, hates what it does to people, hates the Jedi, and hates himself. Qui-Gon’s Commander was meant to be a means to an end – but when Obi-Wan falls too deep, trusting Cody might just be the only way out.
I fucking looooove Sith!Obi-Wan. I'm picky about how it's handled tho. I like when there's a background with Qui Gon and a whole moral dilemma for both Cody and Obi-Wan. Their interactions are filled with ''I know I shouldn't but I love you oh so dearly'', yk?? It is well used and represented in this fic, Serie is an amazing writer who uses everything to make their stories flow slowly but 120km/h at the same time. IN PROGRESS
I Got My Head Checked by frostbitebakery (75 010 words) Mature
Summary: Below the observation deck, the Marshal Commander of the Third Systems Army is being divested of his armor and weapons, shackles heavy on his wrists. He doesn’t struggle, only a mulish stubborn twist to his jaw showing his displeasure at the situation.
Obi-Wan opens his eyes, steps back from the observation window. “I need a week.”
OR: In which Cody wasn’t trained for a Sith sliding into a moral dilemma because of him
IGMHC is the first Sith!Obi that I read and I cannot stop returning to it. It's got a tractor beam locked on me 24/7, I swear. Again, loved how the dilemmas and morals are handled, you can see both characters' thought processes throughout I absolutely cannot get enough of it. 1000000/10
Name of the Game by esama (40 088 words) Mature/Explicit
Summary: There's a new Dark Sider on the battlefield, one who has it out for Cody's General.
SIMP OBI-WAN!! That man has whole plans made to achieve his goal and all it takes is one, ONE, millisecond of attention from Cody and he's caught. He's gone. Whole plan needs to be adjusted to the new circumstances. Can't get enough of it from my screen, I need it in my veinsss. 1000000000000/10. Masterpiece.
AND A SHAMELESS SELF-PROMO
thunderstorm stories by foxssleeplessness (aka ME) (5027 words, Ik, short compared to the others) Gen
Summary: During a humanitarian aid mission on Kashyyyk, a thunderstorm hits. Cody absolutely hates thunderstorms. Sharing stupid stories about your ''childhood'' with your general is a pretty good distraction.
You get to meet briefly my OC Kosand maybe Tonedeaf, I can't remember.
ANYWAY!! Hope you enjoy these like you enjoyed the first ones, Anon! Have a lovely day :D

For AO3 wrapped: #3, #5, #20 -- ❤️ smoosey
Ty Smoosey!!! 💞💞💞💞
AO3 Wrapped
3: What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
'I'll Try and Somehow Make a Meaning of the Poison in this Place'. Seeing as I'm an excruciatingly slow writer, I'm not generally someone who writes things over 10k words. However, this was the story that grabbed me by the throat and said, "You have to write codywan! Write them now!" And so for the first time, I did. It got longer and longer than I anticipated it being. In the end I feel like the characters are super well written; the story is a mix of emotions so well balanced you're never overjoyed, despairing, laughing, or horny for a second longer than designed; and the themes carried throughout wrap the ending with a very satisfying bow. I think I spent 9 months on it. Even formatted it with footnotes. It's my baby and I'm genuinely proud of it.
5: What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
My most recently posted fic, actually. I thought maybe it would be an intriguing concept that some people might like and some would enjoy the sapfest aspect. Didn't exactly expect the outpouring of love in the comment section! Way more comments than I usually get and codywan nation is rather generous with me on the usual! I'm very appreciative of the response even if my brain wasn't ready to accept it for a couple months ❤️
20: Which work of yours have you reread the most?
A hard question but maybe 'I'll Try and Somehow Make a Meaning of the Poison in this Place'. I put a lot of effort into it and I spent so many months alone with it, reading everything over and over again an unholy amount of times, and only adding things as they came to me. Every so often I have to go through and check the footnotes still work correctly and I end up reading it all over again. (Whenever someone comments, I go and read the section(s) they're talking about and that also leads me down the path of reading the whole thing again)

Fic Writer 20 Questions
Thanks to @merlyn-bane for tagging me! <3
1.) How many works do you have on ao3
Currently 56!
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
183,482
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
At this moment, it's Star Wars all day every day. Specifically into the prequel era and Star Wars Rebels related stuff.
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Twenty-Two - an Enjoltaire fic I wrote when I was 20 so let's not talk about that
it's a gift to be truly known - skybridger fic, I'm thrilled to see it this high :')
held like a dream - codywan, interesting it's done better than the others
Lost in the Supermarket - another enjoltaire from the wee age of 20, don't look at me
beholder - codywan, I do really really love this one
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, mostly! I don't always because it gets mixed up with my anxiety and I feel overwhelmed and pressured. So I live by a policy of "respond if I am feeling it, if not nbd."
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I genuinely can't think of anything that has an angsty ending. Angsty middles, sure, but I'm a happy ender. I guess it's like poetry, it rhymes (shatterpoint lineage fic) is a little bittersweet?
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hard to choose? I've written some pretty sappy fluff. I've decided on frame the halves, call them a whole (codywan) because you get a good, way pre-O66 fix it that means no one I like died PLUS force sensitive clones! :)
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
I don't believe I ever have!
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Haha yes. It's generally queer and pretty tame in terms of kink.
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope, never have.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so! My fics are pretty mid-tier at their highest popularity so I don't think anyone really cares to lol
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes and I'm still so, so flattered and thrilled by it. :''') I believe I had one (or even two???) old Les Mis fic translated before, but I don't see it linked on ao3. And then there's this absolute beauty:
Comme de la poésie, ça rime
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Not technically, but Haley and I have a draft we lovingly refer to as only fan-akin, doc titled (by Haley, credit where due) "the west wing but if sam married the hooker and became president instead of dropping that storyline and leaving after s3"
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
Maybe probably Billy/Teddy from Young Avengers. They're my boys!!!
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Baby girl, I have WIPs you don't even know. I wish I could write the jedi temple epic I wanted to, but my thoughts and feelings have changed so much the whole concept has collapsed and what I have is too messy to use elsewhere. And then there's the courferre soulmate fic I dearly meant to finish and just never will since the interest dried up.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue. That's the easiest part for me to write.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Uh well first of all, actually getting myself to write is a big fucking challenge of mine. But really, the spacial stuff and descriptions kill me. Please know that if you ever read non-dialogue, non-thought parts that you like, it probably took me like 10 writing passes to get it just right. I live in a state of editing and reediting.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I just don't! I am willing to add in as much as I know or easy words-- like a bonjour or, if we're talking Star Wars, sprinkles of words like vode. But if someone is talking in sentences, I will straight up do "Sabine said something in Mando'a" or "Stop that, Sabine told him in Mando'a." Easier for me that trying to do bad translations.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Young Avengers!
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
This is ever changing. While I probably go back and read it's a gift to be truly known the most, I love a single slow desire for it being the best, biggest world building I've done. Plus it's f/f and I need more of that in my writing life
I think everyone ever has been tagged already, but if not! Tags for you: @afoundling @happybean17 @tired-bshocked @goddammitjim

20 Questions for fic writers
Thank you for the tag @three-drink-amy @inexplicablymine @myheartalivewrites and @cha-melodius
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
27, which seems somewhat meagre compared to many others!
2. What’s your AO3 total word count?
679,928
3. What fandoms do you write for?
RWRB and Star Wars
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
RWRB Screw Your Courage to the Sticking Place (and forget macbeth is a fucking tragedy)
Star Wars Smoking Hot
Star Wars Stars and Oceans
RWRB Blooming Lovely
Star Wars The Set-Up
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! I never delete comments from my inbox as it always perks up my self-esteem if I'm flagging. So often though I literally don't have words to reply so it's just 'thank you for reading and commenting!' or ❤❤❤
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Stars and Oceans. Classic post-Order 66 Star Wars featuring a Codywan (fem!Obi) storyline so it's ... pretty bleak. BUT it is also part 1, so part 2 is much less angsty.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Blooming Lovely. Link below.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No? I've had one where someone commented ''I wish you hadn't done xyz" which threw me a bit bc ... dude. The back button's right there.
Oh, tell a lie, I once had someone tell me my female OC was too much of a feminist and they didn't like that. It didn't feel particularly insulting though.
9. Do you write smut, if so what kind?
I love writing smut, and I feel like I have improved so much in recent years. I like most kinds, but not hate-sex or cheating. Don't like reading it and don't think I could write it.
10. Do you write crossovers? If so, what’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Hmm, yes and no. I like taking characters out of one universe and transplanting them into another. I have two of these on the go at the moment; a Firstprince Discovery of Witches AU and a Codywan His Dark Materials. But I don't cross the characters over, so Henry and Alex won't be running into Matthew and Diana.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Once, had a fic cross-posted without my permission and I wasn't happy. Thankfully it was taken down immediately once I contacted the person who'd done it. I think they thought they were being nice?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
@inexplicablymine baby, current WIP, Firstprince, and y'all are NOT ready.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
I have regular obsessions with ships! I love, and always will, Firstprince and Codywan. But I'm currently eyeball deep in a Buddie rabbit-hole and absolutely head-over-heels for some Wheel of Time ships too so I don't know if I could ever choose one favourite.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Probably one of my Star Wars ones - there's a Sithywan fic that I have the bare bones of a plot for but so far it feels flimsy to me.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and inner monologues of characters. I like to think I'm good at landing characterisations.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Ad-libbing or ad-hoc writing I struggle with but also conversely plotting? I can have these amazing ideas that usually start with dialogue between two characters and then can't always follow through in creating a narrative around that scene.
Also sometimes I think I rely on a Deus Ex Machina too often.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I'll normally try to just add in the odd word if canon, 'mijo', etc. I try to avoid long sentences unless it's a fictional language anyway (Mando'a) or it can't be avoided. Then I very guiltily use Google translate. For slang I do try and research multiple sources rather than Google though.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Justice League, the DC Animated version which was a very good cartoon actually.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
It probably has to be Blooming Lovely. It's not often I write something totally joyful and angst-free so it felt like an achievement!

Fic Writer 20 Questions
Thanks for the tag, @frostbitebakery !!🥰🥰🥰
1.) How many works do you have on ao3
35, but that also includes some of pyro's that I'm listed as co on because I helped with so much of the plotting out and behind the scenes stuff
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
336,631
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
Right now primarily Star Wars bc that's where my brainrot is, but I've been known to play around in a few other sandboxes. There are a few Star Trek fics on my AO3 as well, and there's a multifandom xreader sideblog floating around somewhere that I am not going to tag because I consider it a Different Era and not reflective of the work I'm doing now. Even though I'm STILL getting notes on a Wolverine smut fic I posted all the way back in 2018.
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Foelu
SubObi Week Day Five
SubObi Week Day One
SubObi Week Day Four
SubObi Week Day Six
(Foelu is leading by A Margin in basically everything but hits now, it's insane)
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! And I'm usually pretty good at it. Sometimes I'm really not sure what to say and sometimes I get kind of overwhelmed so not always, but I do try. I'm super behind on Foelu atm bc you all continue to just blow me away with the support on that one, but I promise I'm planning to sit down and try to get caught up soon.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Angsty endings aren't super my thing, to be honest. Most of the things I've actually finished have happy endings, just because that's my personal preference. Most of my angst is in the middle, and I'd say probably the angstiest fic I have (at least right now) is Traveling Song. Ari has...been through it. It used to be a whole lot worse before the first rewrite happened though.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Idk, maybe the Obi-Wan Omegaverse series I did for SubObi Week?
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet, here's to hoping that doesn't change anytime soon.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Oh, yes. All sorts of it 😈😈
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Crossovers have never super been my thing, so no, not really.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that know of, again, hoping it stays that way.
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not yet, I think, but I have had one or two podfic'ed!
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
I'm listed as a co-author on @pyromanicdaydreamer 's The Moments In Between since I helped with so much of the development for it (what can I say, I'm an ideas guy if I'm anything), but I've never really co-written anything, as far as the actual words and stuff.
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
I'm mentally ill about Codywan in a way I've never really been before or since, to be honest. They're my special little guys. Also, though, Octavious and Jedidiah from Night At The Museum, Obviously.
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Oh, so many.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
I think the most consistent feedback I've gotten is that my character work and humor are good, which does just make me feel real nice because characterization is something I worry about.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
I am a total slave to the muse, my WIP graveyard is sprawling. I do think I could stand to be a little more descriptive at times, and I'm never going to claim that an English teacher wouldn't cry at some of my grammar. I'm a lot more concerned with how things sound than if they're technically correct.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
It's one of those things that's dependent on the characters, but when appropriate I do think it can add more depth. It also just makes sense for some characters--for example, you can be on either side of the clones-being-Mandalorian debate, but picking up another language from the trainers that the Kaminoans and likely their future generals don't know could only be in their best interest strategically.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Marvel I think. Pyro and I wrote a bunch of OC stuff in the 2012 era, and I think one of my very first ones was a Thor x OC that might even still be on ff.net.
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
Oh fuck. Uh. C'mon, man, this is like asking me to choose a favorite child. Shit. Um. I don't know if it's my favorite, but They Told Me I Couldn't Bag A Jedi was a lot of fucking fun to work on.
I think I'm gonna tag @ferretrade @goddammitjim @shootingstarpilot @bluemaskedkarma @brigittttoo

Masterpost: Codywan week summer server exchange
The codywan week server summer exchange round has now concluded, with all pieces posted! I’ve summarised all the fics and art that were included in this round below, and definitely recommend checking them all out!
Art
[art] A quiet, joyous moment of celebration by @yomawari [Link]
[art] Cody and Obi taking a break from the war by @welcometothesewers [Link]
[art] farmer and medic!Obi-Wan and Cody, after the end of the clone wars by @nhyhu
Fic
[fic] shelter from the storm by @inkformyblood
A sandstorm means that Cody and Obi-Wan have to spend days inside. They find ways to pass the time. - Obi-Wan’s voice is low and Cody can almost picture his expression despite not quite being able to pick out his features; the incline to his head is almost hungry, his eyes half-lidded and thoughtful. “I’m sure you have several suggestions already.” “Only several?” Cody punctuates the question with a kiss, drawing Obi-Wan’s hand to his mouth rather than chance finding his mouth in the semi-shadows. The split lip hadn’t been worth it with the benefit of hindsight, regardless of how attractive the gesture had seemed at the time. Cody’s lips brush against the rough edge of a bacta patch, an old one worn and reused until it is more placebo than curative, but Cody still skirts around the edge of it, kissing the seams of Obi-Wan’s fingers and tasting salt.
[fic] different shape, same colour by @oathkeeperoxas
Cody's life after the war is nearly perfect. He can kiss Obi-Wan whenever he wants, he has enough backpay to chase nearly any whim that might cross his mind, and he's organising the development of a new colony world for his brothers to settle on, a space of their own that Cody thinks is entirely appropriate and wanted. There's just one tiny, little matter that he needs to get out into the open - except it feels significantly more important than he's been trying tell himself it is.
[fic] all that I adore by @flowerparrish
Obi-Wan's lightsaber was never lost. So long as it found its way into the hands of any of his troopers, it was exactly where he needed it to be.
[fic] Chin Up by cerealgrain
Before, during, and after the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan and Cody find each other.
[fic] marking one for you and one for me by @inkformyblood
After a long day made longer by the prospect of having to mark essays, Obi-Wan wants nothing more than to spend time with Cody, Luke, and Leia.
[fic] disobey the future by Xenomorphic
It feels as if a bottomless pit has opened up beneath him. Or, Obi-Wan doesn't die in the Death Star.
[fic] Happier by Mystickle
Cody sighed, hefting his rucksack over his shoulder. The cabin was still such a mess and even nearing the winter, he had not managed to clear out more than a small plot of his land to farm on. Farming was hard, but Cody had never been happier. He wasn’t stuck following corporate deadlines, he grew his own food, ate when he wanted - and even talked to more people than he had in the past twenty-ish years.
[fic] A Paper Crown and a Heart Made of Glass by Legogirl22
Obi-wan Kenobi has been the Emperor of the Separatist Federation for decades, along with his husband Cody. They, as well as Anakin and Padme, were keeping the peace between the Separatist and the Republic. Everything is going well, except for the fact that Maul has taken his niece and nephew and is threatening to hurt them.
[fic] All That You Mean to Me by @arkainea1911
It takes a while before Cody is calm enough to look up into the worried face of his lover, whose own lovely wings the color of turquoise seas are tucked close to his back in an attempt to make himself smaller, less threatening. Not that he needs to, Cody knows Obi Wan would never hurt him, He trusts him with his heart and his wings.
[fic] Twilight drops her curtain down, and pins it with a star by StarsWrite
For MandoBarbie. One of your likes was Meet-ugly and this prompt has been in my Awful AU ideas for years. Here's the Awful AU this is loosely based on. You’re the neighbor that keeps their curtains open, even when changing, and I can’t talk to you without blushing.
[fic] Spacemallows: Threat or Asset? by @mandobarbie
Post the Clone Wars, in a galaxy where Order 66 is actually Order 404: Not Found and Skeevy Sheevy died ignobly off-screen sometime prior, Obi-Wan Kenobi and former Marshall Commander Cody are completely and totally smitten with each other. But Obi-Wan's only met Cody's batchers in a professional setting before, and he is absolutely going to win them over personally as well, one cheerfully-handled minor disaster at a time! "The point is, Bly could, and did, do a great many things. What he could not do, apparently, was find one single, acceptable pair of boots for sale in the entirely of Coruscant... For Obi-Wan Kenobi was also many things; he was a leader, a poet, Cody's beloved nerd and Aayla's favorite ba'vod. But most importantly to Bly, the man was iconic."
[fic] my head is made of flowers (and my body made of steel) by never_going_home [WIP]
The Empire was bought with the blood of the ten-hundred million, and you are bathed up to your elbows in it, Kote.

Yes!!! I love getting comments! It absolutely makes my day and getting to talk with people about my fic is the highlight of my day.

Unnamed fic sitting in my drafts where Wild’s scars are acting up and he gets trapped reliving the memory of his death and all the chain can do is watch and listen.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uhhh… no comment
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not actual hate, per se, but I've had a couple comments criticising my characterization and one person decided that they were gonna comment how it didn’t adhere to canon. (Which, looking back on is ten times funnier)
9. Do you write smut?
nope
10. Do you write crossovers?
Never tried, but have read my fair share in my early fanfic days
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of (Consider this a warning if you’ve stolen one)

Again not that I'm aware of, but I think it would be super cool! Just let me know.

Overly dramatic villain dialogue
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
All other forms of dialogue
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Been there, done that. Little difficult because it's a fictional language, but overall mehh

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
My current Wip, Running Back To You (I Swear I’ll Find a Way)

Fic Writer 20 Questions
(Open) tagged by @kcrabb88 lol but I wanted to do it :)
How many works do you have on ao3? 51! (+7 on my secret alt)
What's your ao3 word count? 258,302 + 67,544 -
What fandoms do you write for? currently, it's just star wars, but I've written for criminal minds before and have some unposted marvel wips -
What are your top five fics by kudos? 1. Oathbreaking -Qui-Gon repudiates Obi-Wan and breaks their bond during the Phantom Menace Council scene and this has repercussions 2. Underestimation -The BAU team takes a case that reminds Reid uncomfortably of his childhood. Rossi finds him when he can't take it anymore 3. See My Dreams All Die -Obi-Wan kills Anakin on Mustafar and is severely wounded doing so. Palpatine is in need of a new apprentice, and Obi-Wan is so conveniently right there 4. 'Til the Sun Goes Down -Take Revenge of the Sith, but it's Obi-Wan instead of Mace who confronts Palpatine 5. Acquainted with the Night -(Unfinished) Reid is kidnapped on a case and the team races to find him (oh god, I can't believe my fifteen year old self's fics make this list) -
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I want to. desperately. it just takes a lot of time and social energy I don't have so I get behind and then I get overwhelmed. I've got 84 unanswered in my inbox currently, some of them months old :( -
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? it's a toss up between Nothing Gold Can Stay (rip Cody) and The Toll of the Bell (rip the Jedi) -
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? The one I just wrote for @ashinaburrito - Happily Ever After (quinobi ftw) -
Do you get hate on fics? I've gotten one or two comments that... disagree very strongly with certain decisions I've made in my fics but no outright flaming. I just delete them -
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? yes. and the kind you'll only know about if you reach level 20 friendship -
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? not really anymore? I did in my criminal minds phase. I had one years ago that never really got off the ground that was criminal minds/doctor who/x-men which doesn't sound that crazy, but I would think it was a fever dream if I didn't have the document -
Have you ever had a fic stolen? not that I'm aware -
Have you ever had a fic translated? no :') -
Have you ever cowritten a fic before? I have a wip buried in the backrooms that I was writing with @charrhylis. poke, poke, I mean, if you still want to... -
What's your all time favorite ship? all time??? codywan... but winterhawk is a close second -
What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will? all of them lmao. I never know when a fic's going to make it to the finish line or not, but if I had to choose one... my The Will of the Force series. it is. such an ambitious project and I have so many other wips going on so I don't think it will ever happen but I stare at it wistfully sometimes -
What are your writing strengths? I have been told I write good dialogue which is funny because dialogue is hell and if I never had to write it again I would be the happiest person ever. unfortunately, it is difficult to write a story without it (believe me, I've tried. I actually succeeded once) -
What are your writing weaknesses? commas............. jk I'm mostly okay at them. my biggest weakness is my need to make everything perfect on the first go around instead of just getting shit on the page and so I agonize over word choice for hours and wind up with stilted sentences. takes ages to get anything done. -
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? if it counts as another language, I've written dialogue in dai bendu (Jedi conlang) before. I love it, languages are awesome. and with ao3 you can do hovertext so your readers don't get lost, which is cool. -
First fandom you wrote for? star wars! a wip graveyard fic. but then I moved on to criminal minds, and the first posted was from there -
Favorite fic you've ever written? oh geez uhhhhhh. this is hard because I like my fics for different reasons but... right now, I think it's Soldier, Poet, King just because it's such a good character study and I think it's beautiful. Hits all the right notes trope-wise too.
