“Conspiracy Theory Rock” aired on SNL back in 1998.
It was never aired again, being cut from all future re-runs. General Electric owns NBC which controls SNL.

Quote
That's the point. The point of public relations slogans like "Support our troops" is that they don't mean anything. They mean as much as whether you support the people in Iowa. Of course, there was an issue. The issue was, Do you support our policy? But you don't want people to think about that issue. That's the whole point of good propaganda. You want to create a slogan that nobody's going to be against, and everybody's going to be for. Nobody knows what it means, because it doesn't mean anything. Its crucial value is that it diverts your attention from a question that does mean something: Do you support our policy? That's the one you're not allowed to talk about. So you have people arguing about support for the troops? "Of course I don't not support them. " Then you've won. That's like Americanism and harmony. We're all together, empty slogans, let's join in, let's make sure we don't have these bad people around to disrupt our harmony with their talk about class struggle, rights and that sort of business.

Don’t forget if you’ve stopped seeing posts about what’s happening in Gaza it’s probably because social media controls what people see
this isn’t over just because you stop seeing posts about it
Try to spread anything you see so this stays a relevant issue
DO NOT LET THESE THINGS DIE

understanding US policy and coverage in the middle east, 20 years ago (and today)
if you wanna read a book isn't expressly theory but is def going to influence your understanding of american politics without being poorly written (i.e., hyper-academic) or boring, i suggest noam chomsky's "open media collection."
it's three parts that you can probably find separately: 1) "9-11," 2) "media control: the spectacular achievements of propaganda," and 3) "acts of aggression: policing 'rogue states.'"
"9-11" is a series of email interviews that chomsky completed in the month/month-and-a-half directly following 9/11. it's the longest section of the three and is a good time capsule for how both chomsky and the rest of the world reacted to the event. it sets up realistic and pragmatic measures that U.S. should take to respond to terrorism, tempered by understanding international law, responses to other terrorist attacks and the U.S.'s foreign policy.
"media control" was my favorite section. if you've tried to read "manufacturing consent" and found it to be a slog (which it kind of is), i would recommend this instead. it gets at the core of "manufacturing consent" but is a lot more digestible. although "media control" was initially published in 1991, my copy included a transcript of a 2002 talk chomsky gave at the Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting's 15th anniversary celebration, "the journalist from mars: how the 'war on terror' should be reported." highly recommend.
"acts of aggression" is the shortest section and focuses mainly on policy, rather than media coverage of such. like the other two, it points out american/western hypocrisy re: terrorism, particularly what we (the west) dub "rogue states."
TL;DR: Read "Open Media Collection" by Noam Chomsky to understand the Israeli genocide of Palestinians within the greater historical context of Western media coverage of American terrorism.

One Direction, X Factor, and maintaining the fantasy that 'anyone can make it'
Something I've been thinking on ... during the X Factor and 1D days, apart from Niall playing guitar (like a baby rock god!), nothing was ever said much of the boys' musical/instrumental backgrounds .. I think I recall something being said about Liam and piano, but other than H and the others mucking around on drums or with percussion a few times, Louis 'only knowing two songs on piano', and some school-age musical/theatre performances, that's pretty much it.
During this time they all contributed to 1D's songwriting, a skill that could be made easier by (but maybe doesn't require) having at least basic musical theory and the ability to read/write musical scores.
Fast forward to a few years post-1D, and they're accompanying themselves either onstage or when writing on guitar and keyboard, and at least H is credited with playing multiple instruments on his recordings. Now I'm not saying you can't learn and be confident and good enough to play to an audience in a reasonable timeframe, and there's certainly pics of Niall teaching H, footage of all of them mucking around on guitar etc, and they were for sure in the environment to absorb plenty of musical skills, but I've always wondered if they came to X Factor with at least some formal musical training that was glossed over so the fantasy of 'any kid who can sing can be a star' could be maintained.

Cable TV in Canada is way too expensive, and that’s because you’re paying for a gazillion other channels you don’t want to watch or can’t watch, forced by the CRTC and the Canadian government. The result has been Canadians cord cutting and getting VPN’s so they can avoid the high costs and “Canadian content” and move out to greener pastures.
How far will Trudeau go with this, will us Canadians wind up like China or North Korea where good content needs to be smuggled in on sticks? I’m ok with Francophone content being subsidized, but I’m not ok on having a government decide what I watch in the name of keeping me safe. I don’t want to be safe, I want to be free to make mistakes and think for myself thank you very much Fidel Trudeau. I don’t trust you to do it for me!

The rest of the population ought to be deprived of any form of organization, because organization just causes trouble. People have to be atomized and segregated and alone. They're not supposed to organize, because then they might be something beyond spectators of action.

I won't lay down and die because the media has told me to do so. I will fear my jailers, but I won't fear what they tell me to fear. I will break free from my bonds in every way possible, even if resistance is futile in totality I will still rebel within the bounds of my confinement until I die or am set free! My prison has no bars and has no chains, but I am restrained in my liberty and have never known freedom. Social control so deep it began before I was even born. A world brainwashed and lied to and led by the septum like cows to slaughter. Work, work, work, consume, consume, consume, then die to feed the greedy puppet masters pulling all the strings.

The same man who has been complaining about overpopulation for the last 30 years while allegedly investing in vaccines to save lives is also extremely hypocritical when it comes to his claims about our carbon footprints, opposing what everyone on this planet is doing: traveling, eating meat, having children, and... LIVING. Rules for thee but not for me apply to Gates like no other. Did you know that climate alarmist Bill Gates lobbies for our daily lives to be greatly restricted; he advocates for 15-minute cities and limiting freedom of travel under the guise of carbon emissions, while he lives in luxury and extravagance. His primary residence in Seattle boasts 7 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a 60-foot pool with an underwater music system, a 2,500-square-foot gym (which he obviously never has used), a 1,000-square-foot dining room, six kitchens, and a trampoline room with a 20-foot ceiling. Let's not forget the 2,100-square-foot library, a home theater that seats up to 20 guests, and a massive 300-square-foot reception hall with room for 200 guests. There's also a spacious guesthouse, a garage that fits 23 cars, and an artificial stream stocked with fish. Depending on the source, its value is estimated at $127 to $170 million. But wait, there's more! Gates also owns homes in Del Mar, California AT SEA LEVEL ($43 million), Indian Wells, California ($12.5 million), Wellington, Florida ($8.7 million), and a ranch in Wyoming ($8.9 million). What many people also do not know is that in 2014, child pornography was found on the property of his Seattle residence of Bill Gates, a man who had a close relationship with the child trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Ultimately, an employee of Gates was convicted for this, but shouldn't the media have critically reported on this? It seems Bill prevented that, having made over $300 million USD worth of donations to several media projects worldwide. For example, he has invested nearly $13 million in The Guardian, $5 million in the German Der Spiegel, and over $3.5 million each in BBC and CNN. Epstein, child pornography, climate alarmism, and the bribing of the media are not the only scandals surrounding Bill Gates. It's highly likely he was also forewarned about the 'plandemic,' or involved in its planning as he invested over 50 million USD in the German company BioNTech in September 2019, which until then had been very unprofitable for years. I wrote a tweet about Gates' investment in June 2021, linking to the Gates Foundation’s website and was permabanned from this platform for raising that question - medical misinformation, they called it back then. No wonder, as BioNTech would announce just one year after Gates’ investment its collaboration with Pfizer to produce gene therapy against the common cold virus making BILLIONS. Coincidence? I doubt it. Source - Continue 👇👇👇👇 https://twitter.com/goddeketal/status/1783967304197230685

Self-Hypnotizing World Elite Conspiring In Plain Sight
We are in times when human power is exponentiating, that is growing at a rate proportional to itself… On top of that, elitism in civilization always had this exponential character … this is why civilizations always spawn elites. So we are in times where a few individuals have actually the power of extinguishing civilization and even the human race.Instead of mollifying the phenomenon, it’s…

A Modest Proposal for Strengthening Democracy, or How to Win Friends and Influence Elections
In an era where the mere mention of “free and fair elections” sends waves of laughter through the corridors of power, we find ourselves beholding the masterclass in governance offered by none other than the Supreme Leader Shri Sir Adarniya Modiji Maximum Authority, affectionately known as SLSSAMAM. The SLSSAMAM approach to democracy is not merely a strategy but an art form, a nuanced ballet…
