⤷ The concept of slumber never really came to him much, at least he never really thought about it too much. Misha never thought it would concern him, so he never thought about it. He never questioned, he never liked to. Clockie was never one to indulge in these thoughts, at least not around him. And he was passive until he found the memory bubble.

⤷ Misha is a timid boy, the mind of a twelve year old. He's a child, one who should be protected by the world and all of its love if possible yet truth is, he's only a fragment of a child.

⤷ When it first hits him, he's numb.

⤷ He first goes about his day but you can tell something's off. His laughter seems just a tad bit more forced, he moves a bit more stiffly and he doesn't have that same lightness to his voice.

⤷ You approach him, slowly, like you would if you were approaching an injured stray.

⤷ He doesn't say anything at first, he just tries to play it off but the more he plays it off the worst it gets. It's like Prince Rupert's drop- he won't break unless it's the exact person he trusts, the exact person he's looking for.

⤷ Like that, it falls. When his crystal eyes met yours, he dropped to the ground. He heaves, he sobs, cries, screams until his voice is raw and gone and all that fills the empty halls of the Reverie Hotel because really the world he lives is just you and him.

⤷ He doesn't remember any of that- the adventures, the pain and the losses and when it hits him it hits him hard.

⤷ You drop to your knees, pulling him to your chest because what else could you do? He's dead and he's just realising it. He's a kid who just realised he could never grow up.

⤷ You hold him tight, whispering sweet nothings into his ear as he trembles like a bomb ready to blow and all you can do is sit and wait for it to either diffuse or blow

"It's okay, Misha, it's gonna be okay."

But how do you even comfort a kid who will never get to grow up? Who has to turn to eternal slumber sooner or later before he can even come to terms with the full idea of eternal slumber.

"Don't worry."

But how can you not worry? You have to watch this boy fade into what is only an idea, perhaps a fragment in your mind. Knowing that how you hold him and comfort him is only simply a piece of what is him, knowing that you've never even held or comforted the real Misha.

"Don't let go."

He's tired now, exhausted from crying so hard he feels like he's going to throw up. He lays in your arms, breathing uneven but more calm now. You can only listen to his words and take them in, knowing what you say back cannot impact anything because his future was already determined. His future was the past.

"I won't."

Anyways! Time to emotionally traumatize yall!

“Must you go big brother? “ You asked .

The light haired boy just smiled at you before replying,” Yes , I do.” He pats your head gently before heading off to clean the streets of Penacony .

Little did you know , that would be the last day you would see your elder brother.

He found you in an alleyway , all alone and cold , with thin rags covering your body that didn’t do anything to keep you warm from the chilled air . You were surrounded by garbage and broken glass so it took a while to clean .

He took you in , gave you clean clothes , a nice bed , and a warm blanket plus a place to stay that’s better than the alley you were found in.

Ever since that day , you followed him as he cleaned the streets and helped him sometimes, he even got you a smaller broomstick identical to his .

He introduced you to new people , like the trailblazer , who in your opinion, smelled like citrusy dew with a hint of honey .

When you told him this he looked at you with a surprised look on his face and asked how he smelled like , you replied with fresh ice with a hint of mint .

Turns out you had an advanced sense of smell , you could smell emotions, but only general ones . Such as happiness or sadness. Nothing too complex .

Misha usually smelled like ice and mint , that was his emotion of contentment , however , that day , he still had ice in his smell , but… the mint was gone and was replaced with an overpowering scent of something lemony .

You didn’t know what that scent meant , so you let it go and figured you would find out later when Misha came back to you , he would usually let you tag along but at days he would tell you to stay with Gallagher , the brown dude who said he was 13 even though he has a beard .

He smelled like alcoholic drinks with a bit of blood mixed in , but you didn’t mind it , you just assumed it was something else that you didn’t know the smell of .

Misha usually didn’t let you tag along when the trailblazer came to meet him , those days he had that lemony scent that made your nose scrunch up .

When you stayed over at Gallagher’s place , you tried to help by bringing him ingredients, and time to time he left and made you watch over the bar while he greeted the trailblazer and Misha .

Today was no exception, Misha dropped you off at where Gallagher worked at , you stayed there for a while , but you were feeling a little mischievous and sneaked out when you were getting ingredients .

You decided the main objective of your super secret mission was to find your elder brother , so off you went exploring the streets of penacony!

As you walked around the roads of Penacony , you finally saw Misha and the trailblazer talking in a corner and then walking off .

You felt a little bit heartbroken , did Misha prefer the trailblazer more then you for company? Were you too much work for him , maybe it’s because you’re too energetic….

But nevertheless , you didn’t let that discourage you and trailed after them , you couldn’t hear anything except trio , and same . Hm…. You couldn’t find any thing that connected to those words so you dropped it.

You started to head towards them ,but before you could even say anything to them , Gallagher found you and dragged you back to the bar stating that you weren’t supposed to be outside of the bar without telling him.

How rude!

After a while , Gallagher dropped you off at Misha’s house , how unusual! Misha usually came to pick you up! But there are times he works overtime so it’s okay!

You entered the house only to realize , wait….. where’s Misha at?…. He does work overtime but…. Never up to midnight?…..

Soon , someone knocked at the door, it was the trailblazer! You felt sorta jealous about Misha hanging out with them but it’s okay! Everyone can have different friends!

“ Hey …. Are you Y/N?” The trailblazer asked , you noticed a pale blue and white music box in their hands , elegantly decorated with stars and planets.

You nodded before the trailblazer put the music box in your hands and told you ,” Open it , it’s a gift from Misha , and handle it gently okay?”

You stare at them suspiciously before opening the music box and winding the handle so it plays , soft music . Akin to the stars moving .

Soon , after that , a holographic image of an , who looks like the older version of Misha started to talk to you .

“ Hello , Y/N , yes I am Misha , unfortunately you can’t communicate with me because this is a pre-recorded message , so please just listen to me .”

You tilt your head to the side as misha continues , is this truly your elder brother?

“ This message is here to inform that I … have passed away ,” Your heart stopped as your skin went pale .” Although I wished to have stayed with you and play the part of your elder brother, time waits for no one .”

Your pupils shrink as the information that Misha , the person who saved you and considered as your brother , is now dead.

“ I have not regretted all this time looking over you and caring for you as if you were my own blood , while you were a piece of work , I still found myself enjoying my time with you .”

You start to hiccup and sniff as tears poured down your face like a water fall , the trailblazer there behind you crying silent tears .

He kneels down to your eye level before saying ,” After all this time , I’m sorry I have to leave, dear child , please, live a life you’ll remember…. “

“Goodbye Y/N.”

The hologram stopped as the music box closed leaving you two in silence , the words echoing around in your head.

You stood there shocked . Tears running down your cheeks as you took in every single thing he said .

What happened?….Misha?… He’s gone now?…

You dropped to your knees where the hologram was and blink slowly .The trailblazer kneeled down with you and hugged you as the truth settled in.

“ I’m so sorry …” they whispered in your ear.

The dam broke as all the water started to rush out .

“ No No No ! Big brother can’t be dead! He can’t leave me!!”

You wailed and started to cry uncontrollably as you thrashed around in their hold , resisting reality .

The trailblazer just hugged you and kept you there as they cried along with you , silently accepting what you couldn’t .

Why did Misha leave you?! You need him….

“Please come back , Misha…. “ You plead quietly .

But you know .

He’s gone and he isn’t coming back .

You of course, treat them so differently, you treat people with distrust, coldness, straightforwardness and apathetically that they almost thought you were a different person whenever the said character is here!

You'd always coo them, take care of them, always have a hand on a part of their body anywhere. Of course, they aren't immune to your charm, they'd be a blushing mess, blabbering and stuttering, but they love it, they wouldn't push you away no matter what.

They at first thought of this as wrong, but they soon basked in your attention and they'd fall harder, they would ponder whether to keep you to themselves but they can't do it at all as you're so strong... So experienced...!

So they just indulge themselves. Of course the other characters who had to go through the loss of you when you faked your death—which they aren't aware of— feels an eerie familiarity to your whole being.

They can't help but see you as their darling, you'd intentionally slip your identity only to leave them gaslighted into thinking they're just imagining things. It's only fair they get to suffer too.

So whenever they see you act so lovey-dovey when it comes to the nice and pure character, they can't help but feel jealous. So jealous. But they don't really know why.

You of course found yourself so attached to the said nice and cute character that you can't help yourself but keep them. They wouldn't mind! After all, you've always noticed the same dark swirl in their eyes like everybody else does, you just have to be careful to keep their slight purity ♡︎.

Red Carpet Nerves

Summary - Jensen, and Jared help you through your first red-carpet nerves.

It was your second season on the show and your character had finally started becoming more critical. It wasn't that you weren't in the first, more that you have more scenes, especially with Jensen and Jared.  Both men had taken a liking to you the first time you met and throughout your time together, you became a part of their friend group. 

You had been planning for this red carpet premier for months now. The fans were talking about it for what seemed like forever and they were patiently waiting to see you there. You had no idea what to expect since you'd never been on a red carpet. Honestly, this was your first real role anyway. As the days crept closer the nerves started to kick in, but you didn't tell anyone. You were still filming for the next season and people on set started to notice your changed behavior. 

After the last of shooting for the week, Jensen came up to you. “Hey Y/N, you alright? You’ve been a little quiet lately. Couldn’t help but notice.”

“Uh yeah, I’m fine. I’ve just been tired all week. It's all good.”

“Oh, that's good…Well anyway, Jared and I  got a limo for the premiere on Sunday but Misha just canceled on us. He wanted to drive himself. Do you wanna come with us? We don’t mind. It’s all paid for anyway.”

You took a second to respond. Thinking over all the nerves you've had recently. Maybe this will help. A drink and some friends before the premiere. “Yeah sure, just let me know when and where. It sounds fun!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~

The day was here. You had barely slept last night because every time you tried to rest the thoughts of everything that could go wrong came up. What if I trip? What if all my pictures look bad? What if they don't even want pictures of me?  It was all too much. When you started getting ready it was 7 am and the guys were picking you up outside at 2. The morning was slow but you had time. You didn't even get dressed till 1:30. After all you were a great procrastinator and anxiety always seem to make it so much worse.  

Next thing you know, it's 2 o'clock, and your standing on your porch, all dressed up, waiting for the guys. You could feel your anxiety at the surface and your hands wanting to shake but you held it in. You kept telling yourself to take deep breaths because if they guys saw you this nervous, they would laugh. After all, this is all super embarrassing. Even more, since they guys are clearly more experienced than you at this.  

It seemed like in the blink of an eye they guys were getting out in front of you. “Y/N you coming or what? You’ve been standing there for like 5 minutes,” Jared yells at you from the limo. You walk to the car and got in but you notice the guy's worried eyes. They took note of the way you didn't respond, the way you just stared off into space, and how your hands had a slight tremble in them. The two men glanced at each other just now putting together the way you'd been acting and the fact that this is your first red carpet, something you'd told them about months ago while at a bar.

“Are you nervous? ..Y/N?” Jared asked while looking at you from across the limo. Jensen, opposite to his character, was the more emotional one of the two. He slid closer to you and put an arm around you, just trying to provide comfort. 

“Just a little. I’m fine though. It's just first-time nerves ya know. No biggie,” immediately defending yourself.

Not believing a word you said Jenson responded, “No your not…It's okay to be nervous. I mean we all were, and I still am sometimes. We can all see how stressed you've been about this but don't worry, you're going to kill it. All the fans love you and you are great with all the interviews. Just be yourself.”

“I just don't know what I’m doing! I don't know how to pose or where to look. What if I fall? Those pictures will never go away!” It felt good to finally express all your thoughts. They've been held in for who knows how long.

“How about this? You can stick to one of us all night. One of us will always be with you to stop anything that goes wrong,” Jared suggests.

You took a moment. What if they want pictures alone? You can move to the side or the fans always love it when you guys are together. “That's could work I guess.”

As you got out of the limo, you could hear the fans and paparazzi talking. You looked at Jensen with worried eyes and he reached for your hand. It was such an innocent act but he knew you just needed to feel like someone to be there with you. You followed the managers and boys around like a lost puppy until you realized it was time to go on. You took a deep breath and took your hand out of  Jensen’s.

As you took your first step out you heard the yelling start. It took you by surprise and you took a step back. Jensen and Jared both put a hand on your back and slightly pushed you forward.  

Jared put his arm over your shoulders and bent down to say, “Just simile and kinda look as one spot on the wall.” You did as he said you were blinded for a second. The flashes came in fast but they went away soon after. You did this again and again with both boys until you reached the first interviewer. 

“Hey Y/N, how is tonight going?” Marie the interviewer from Buzzfeed asked. 

“It's good… very loud and very bright but I'm excited to hear what people say about the new season!”

“Good, good. I can't help but ask, you've been sticking J2 all night. What is all of that about? We saw you holding hands with Jensen and Jared had his arm around you.”

“Well being the best friends that they are, they've been helping me through all night. This is my first big role and my first red carpet. I've been a nervous wreck all week preparing but I don't know what I’d do without these boys,” you responded not really ashamed of it anymore.

You continued the night on your own after telling Jensen you were confident enough to do it yourself. The next day you went online to see what the pictures looked like. Personally, you thought you looked amazing and so did the fans.  You saw a ton of fans commenting on that interview saying it was awesome how you felt comfortable enough to share that and how the boys helped you out. 

Just then you got a text from Jensen. 

“You did great Y/N! The pictures look great. Nothing is wrong with being nervous or anxious. Just tell us sooner next time, because we will always be there to help.”

Time for some more angst no comfort!

Here we go again..

“General! When will we have our next session?” The blond haired boy sprinted beside your father as he excitedly told him about everything he’s done .

You feel… jealous…

You press your lips together as you watch them talk excitedly, telling each other about battle techniques and chess….

You suppress a sob in your throat as you suddenly grasp your chest , your heart throbbing and clenching painfully.

Wasn’t the General supposed to be your father?..

You had nothing against Yanqing , in fact , you love him as if he was actually your blood brother, you took care of him ever since Jing Yuan brought him in .

However , he’s a teen , and you’re an adult now , and Jing Yuan still hasn’t smiled at you the way he smiled at Yanqing .

You’ve done so many things… fighting Mara-struck , leading his army , doing his desk work unfortunately.

And yet..

Here you are , trailing behind them like a guard while they laugh with each other as if they’re the blood relatives, not you .

You hiccups quietly, suppressing the tears that threaten to fall upon your face , you feel neglected.

You’re no longer that social anymore , because you thought that if you made more connections…

You would finally be useful.

However , you now know what the truth is.

He loves Yanqing.

Your head short circuits when it comes to that conclusion , making you stop suddenly behind them , eyes wide with disbelief.

No… that can’t be true, your father wouldn’t do that! He loves you both equally! He always did , he definitely didn’t host all of Yanqing’s celebrations!

He definitely doesn’t spend more time with Yanqing when he asks ,when you have to literally wait for months to get an appointment!

He definitely doesn’t dote over Yanqing whenever he gets seriously injured while never visiting you !

Oh who are you kidding?

You take a step backwards before running away towards your destination , a lush green field you cultivated yourself .

You now see the signs, ever since Yanqing came into the picture , you’ve been neglected because apparently…

You’re old enough to not depend on another .

You collapse underneath a willow tree and your long sliver hair comes undone , you wish you could tear out your hair .

You wish it was mother’s color , you wish mother was still here , then she would’ve took care of you when your father didn’t .

You wish that your eye color was the same as your mothers , then you’d have something to cling onto .

You wish you had at least one person to cling onto because you’ve been alone since you were 8 .

You…. Wish …. You just wish you had someone that would love you.

As you cry silently beneath the tree , a soft rustling came from your left side , you turn your head and then see a blue sleeve push the leaves aside and a blond head pops through the canopy.

Your eyes immediately dull and cloud up.

He looks at you and then says “ It’s my fault that you look so defeated and worn everyday isn’t it?” His expression has guilt written all over it .

You sigh,” Yanqing , it’s fine . No need to worry , my prime has already passed, just focus on you okay?” You give him a strained smile .

He just stares at you , the tension between you two thick .

In midst of your staring contest, a soft creak can be heard from behind the willow tree , making your head turn , Yanqing steps closer to inspect it , looks at the stem , however , the stem wasn’t the problem.

A Mara-struck had crept up and chopped the tree, making it fall towards you two . Your first reaction was to leave , but Yanqing didn’t realize until it was too late .

Wouldn’t it be easier if he just died?

(No)

Wouldn’t it mean more attention from father?

(More like hatred)

He favors Yanqing , and others don’t like you , so it would be better for everyone , if he survived , so you did what you thought was the most logical reaction.

Push Yanqing away , and get buried underneath the tree , letting the Mara-struck slash at you until Yanqing recovers from the shock.

As soon as you felt the tree bury you underneath it , a loud crack was heard , and your rib cage felt more and more in pain as the Mara-struck stalled towards you.

While you expected Yanqing to at least help you up , he just ran after he pierced the monster .

Was a little bit of help too much to ask for?..

So, you just lay there , sobbing quietly as the pain in your rib age became more and more unbearable, silently wishing for someone to comfort you .

It didn’t take long for you to slowly loose consciousness, the last thing you heard was ,

Hello!! I’m new to ao3, and for the past couple days I’ve been reading your rtc fics excessively. And they inspired me to start writing fanfics of my own. But I’ve never written a fanfic before. And I was wondering if you had any tips for new fanfic writers? Thank you!! :)

yeah, i’ve got some tips!

Stick to one tense! Past tense (said, looked, walked) or present tense (says, looks, walks)! I didn’t learn how to stick to one tense until, like, junior year, and I’ve been writing since fifth grade.

However, if you’re writing present tense, you can switch to past tense to show that you’re talking about stuff in the past.

Avoid first-person POV. If you’ve ever seen those TikTok videos that are people’s “fanfic turn offs” A LOT of them will mention first-person. First-person is more for books, and it’s also very limiting. Plus, it’s just not that fun to read all the time. Some people won’t read a fic At All if it’s first-person.

In similar vein, avoid second-person. Second-person is for reader-insert fics. Not for regular fics.

This is a pretty big thing if you don’t understand how AO3 works: / is romantic relationships. & is for platonic relationships.

Use quotation marks! Some fics will use everything EXCEPT quotation marks for dialogue, and it’s annoying to look at.

Don’t write like you’re writing a script. Don’t use “Ocean: (dialogue here).”

Use proper grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling!

Space out your paragraphs!

If someone new is speaking, go to the next paragraph. PLEASE do not stick it into the pre-existing paragraph.

Don’t overuse epithets! It’s okay to use a character’s name several times!

Don’t put timeskips that are like “(ONE WEEK LATER).” Don’t do that. It looks silly. Find a way to insert it into the writing itself. Like, “A week later, she went to the store.” Something like that!

Try to stick to one character POV. You can absolutely switch to a different one, but end the scene first. Don’t randomly go to someone else in the middle of something.

Download Grammarly if you haven’t already! It’s a great tool!

If you’re gonna write RtC fics, PLEASE spell Mischa’s name right in the character tag. Someone spelled it as “Misha,” and now it’s just Like That. Please spell it right, I am BEGGING.
