song breakdown number 5....SPACE
GHOST C2C. its about a childhood friend of mine who ended up doing something really awful later in life. don't want to go too far into it. but it was hard to understand how someone so kind and naive had been able to do such an unforgiveable thing. the words are parly reminiscing on the good times that we had, and then go on to ask what could have changed this person so much. when i was growing up in tx, a lot of people blamed music, and violent video games for those types of violent crimes. but i'm not sure that's the case. the third verse is just suggesting a couple other things that in my mind were a it more likely to confuse and influence us at that age.
lots of early 2000's food and music and videogames and tv all referenced in there to set it all in that era. and the sound world is taken from what we used to listen to together. we were basically really into dr dre, ha. so the sonics are a strong nod to those productions. sensational mix by MixedByAli on this one...took it to another level.

From the archives. That time Cole and Kendrick pulled up to my crib to hear Milky Way when I was still working on it. At the time me and Cole were at peace with leaving Purge off the album and leaning more into the melodic records. Dot said we were buggin so I put it back on the album. When the 🐐’s talk you gotta listen!

Malik Moses Drops Soulful Debut Single With the Bas-Assisted “Show Me Something”
Tumblr media
If you’re anything like me, you’re still reeling from Halloweekend and are in desperate need of music to soothe your soul while you try and convince your co-workers you’re not nursing a life-long hangover. As luck would have it, fate has bestowed us with the perfect track to shed any ghoulish mistakes and embrace the future with optimism and dignity, and it comes from none other than Baltimore rapper and singer Malik Moses.
“Show Me Something” arrives as the debut single from Moses, a young artist who currently stands as the first signee under legendary MixedByAli’s label NoName. The two crossed paths during the early days of the pandemic, when MixedByAli hosted a competition on Twitch, encouraging artists to make and submit music to him. The winner would be flown out to LA to work with the man himself, and out of hundreds of submissions, Moses was born. The Baltimore artist’s debut track is pretty on point for what you might expect from a collaboration with a man so close with Kendrick Lamar, as “Show Me Something” is a lofty and soulful hip-hop slowburn.
If you’re a fan of artists like Smino, Buddy, Monte Booker, or JID, then Moses is the perfect new artist for you. Blending his signature sound with the time-tested and jazz-inspired hip-hop sounds MixedByAli is known for popularizing, the two work in perfect harmony to produce one of the year’s most captivating debuts.
Though early in his career, Moses demonstrates a seasoned versatility and unique style that is sure to sway even the most hard-headed hip-hop skeptics. “Show Me Something” also sports a guest verse from Dreamville’s very own Bas, and together the two trade laid-back flows with a casual and confident chemistry that rivals many of their peers. With more music and visuals likely planned for the future, now is the perfect time to get to know Moses before he becomes everybody’s next-favorite rapper.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by EngineEars (@engineears) “For over two years I’ve been taking my time really understanding the real problems in my industry. From all of this research, what I've realized is that the problem is there are minimal tools provided to audio engineers to set us up for success. Very little access for artist and labels to search and instantly book talented engineers for their projects. This is why we created the solution EngineEars,” said Ali in a statement. “From acquiring clients & scheduling new projects. Managing file storage and project archiving, to tracking payments. EngineEars provides audio engineers with the tools to operate their business whilst democratizing access to high quality engineering for artists globally,” he added. “Audio engineers exist behind the curtain and are put to the side too often as the independent music industry grows. This is why we raised our pre-seed, to hire the best talent and develop the best platform for music creatives.” EngineEars’ senior management team is made of; COO Dan Maynard (Co-founder of the Canadian Apparel Company, Noble Gentlemen Trading), CTO Luke Sorenson (former Senior Software Engineer at Google), & Market Advisor Jacob Shamberge.
