ML Meta Theory: Chinese legend “Butterfly Lovers”
I just realized that I never got around to talk about the Chinese legend 梁山伯與祝英臺 (Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai) - or the title its mostly referred to in English: Butterfly Lovers – and that I think its quite possible that this tragic tale is the reason why the Butterfly Miraculous specifically is the villain in Miraculous and Marientte’s and Adrien’s love story, even though Butterflies aren’t exactly that special of animals in Chinese cultures.
Tumblr media
(Statue: Liangzhu Culture Park)
Disclaimer: As per usual, I’m of no country of the Asien continent and I also have no family roots there I’m taking this from. I’m one person who is very interested in culture and literature and research is all I can do in this regard at the moment.
So if my post contains false information, misrepresentations or other points, please let me now.
Butterfly Lovers was selected as one of China's Four Great Folktales by the "Folklore Movement" in the 1920s and I’ve gotta be honest, this is such a spot on “civilian Ml-Love-Square” way for a romantic couple to tragically never reach each other and then die in the end, I would find it surprising if it didn’t at least have SOME influence on the show.
Cause the Love Square WOULD
Zhu Yingtai is the ninth child and only daughter of the wealthy Zhu family of Shangyu, Zhejiang. Although women are traditionally discouraged from taking up scholarly pursuits, Zhu manages to convince her father to allow her to attend classes in disguise as a man. During her journey to Hangzhou, she meets Liang Shanbo, a scholar from Kuaiji. They chat and feel a strong affinity for each other at their first meeting. Hence, they gather some soil as incense and take an oath of fraternity in the pavilion of a wooden bridge.
They study together for the next three years in school and Zhu gradually falls in love with Liang. Although Liang equals Zhu in their studies, he is still a bookworm and fails to notice the feminine characteristics exhibited by his classmate.
One day, Zhu receives a letter from her father, asking her to return home as soon as possible. Zhu has no choice but to pack her belongings immediately and bid Liang farewell. However, in her heart, she has already confessed her love for Liang and is determined to be with him for all eternity. Before her departure, she reveals her true identity to the headmaster's wife and asks her to pass a jade pendant to Liang as a betrothal gift.
Liang accompanies his "sworn brother" for 18 miles to see her off. During the journey, Zhu hints to Liang that she is actually a woman. For example, she compares them to a pair of mandarin ducks (a symbol of lovers in Chinese culture), but Liang does not catch her hints and does not even have the slightest suspicion that his companion is a woman in disguise. Zhu finally comes up with an idea and tells Liang that she will act as a matchmaker for him and Zhu's "sister". Before they part, Zhu reminds Liang to visit her residence later so he can propose to marry her "sister". Liang and Zhu reluctantly part ways at the Changting pavilion.
Months later, when Liang visits Zhu, he discovers that she is actually a woman. They are devoted to and passionate about each other and they make a vow to the effect of "till death do us part". The joy of their reunion is short-lived as Zhu's parents have already arranged for her to marry a wealthy merchant, Ma Wencai. Liang is heartbroken when he hears the news and his health gradually deteriorates until he becomes critically ill. He dies in office later as a county magistrate.
On the day of Zhu's marriage to Ma, strong winds prevent the wedding procession from escorting the bride beyond Liang's grave, which lies along the journey. Zhu leaves the procession to pay her respects at Liang's grave. She descends in bitter despair and begs for the grave to open up. Suddenly, the grave opens with a clap of thunder. Without further hesitation, Zhu throws herself into the grave to join Liang. Their spirits emerge in the form of a pair of butterflies and fly away together, never to be separated again.
The Love Square WOULD!
Switch their roles out at several points and you do have a pretty strong Love-square tragic love story and I simply found that way too fitting to be a mere coincidence.
Again, it’s one of China's Four Great Folktales and the Butterfly has always seemed like an odd choice for the villain of this show, which does intergrade a lot of references in the narrative and characters to for example the Chinese numbers and the Zodiac system, their meanings and relations (Post here)
So this doesn’t seem that far-fetched at all, and in my opinion it just FEELS extremely right for Le Papillion’s/ Hawkmoth’s role in the show without making him culturally inappropriate since Gabriel is a white man, terrorist and child abuser. He, as the villain, is the narrative manifestation of “Butterfly Lovers” but without having him as an actual PERSON be its embodiment.

Anne-Jeanne Theoxanne du Bocquale is a time traveling adopted daughter of Lukadrien Adrienette
This is the first of my crack theories I've decided to tackle, is very much a major crack theory.
I have no actual proof of anything, except that:
According to this now deleted interview that can be read via Internet Archive, Wilfried Pain tells a fan that there would be a new character from the future.
The Fandom Wiki seems to think this interview is discussing season 5, but after some back and forth with a mutual, we've come to the conclusion that it's actually discussing season 4, which just so happens to be the season that Anne-Jeanne is introduced.
I've seen multiple posts of people noticing that she has quite a bit more detail than you'd expect for a small side character. She doesn't look out of place at all next to our main girl Maribug, which you can't say for a lot of the designs of minor characters.
Tumblr media
She was slotted to be a teacher to the kids in season 5, but apparently that was scrapped. Perhaps she'll be a teacher in the new school for season 6?
As for being Lukadrien's Adrienette's daughter...
The fandom wiki claims that the vision of a T-Rex Ladybug sees in the Burrow during Chat Blanc is foreshadowing of Anne-Jeanne's existence. I'm a bit skeptical on this, but Anne-Jeanne would have needed to somehow get DNA in order to bring the T-Rexes back to life, and in Time Tagger adult Bunnyx has a pet T-Rex named Denver.
Anne-Jeane is officially introduced in season 4's Hack-San, an episode that irrevocably fractures the LadyNoir partnership.
She shows up again in Rocketear, another episode that kicks LadyNoir while it's down. (After wrangling her T-Rexes, she says she's not really sure what to do with them, and wonders if it was really a good idea to bring them back to life... Kind of an ominous statement for a show where the deuteragonist is a boy born of magic, and whose creation caused the events of literally everything in the show.)
She has a short mention in Jubilation, where her T-Rex pigeon hybrids escape and go on a rampage. Nadja Chamack asks if she has gone too far with her science creations? Another ominous statement.
It's important to note, that Ladybug accidentally wears her friend's Alliance ring while capturing the hybrid dinosaurs, and thus, gets her friend who has been pretending to be Ladybug in hot water for possibly actually being Ladybug. It's interesting that Monarque doesn't even know Socqueline was impersonating a hero, he just sees her name in the Alliance alerts and goes after her. Of course Maribug thinks it's because she's been cosplaying being a hero and Monarque found out!
Anyway, I want to make a point that the dream sequence in Jubilation is very odd. It doesn't read to me as anything other than a child's idea of what love and marriage is. For one, both French citizens and foreigners need an entire forest of identification documentation, and they need to be married at a town hall in order to be legally binding. Only then can a religious ceremony take place. Obviously Ladybug and Chat Noir cannot do that, so they are only symbolically married at a church. The babies the couple are, for lack of better words, in possession of are inanimate dolls. There's a strange haze around the entirety of the dream sequence, just like the strange haze of the season 5 finale.
One of these days I'll do a line by line rundown of the Jubilation dream sequence, but that isn't the point I'm trying to make here. The point is this: the juxtaposition of Anne-Jeanne, the actual future daughter being the catalyst for whatever the hell Jubilation was, would be *chefs kiss* excellent storytelling.
FINALLY we have the final episode of season 5: Re-Creation. Anne-Jeanne makes a cameo in an interview where she gives an ominous message:
"We all remember the worldwide nightmare epidemic followed by the victory of Ladybug over Monarch...and how the swarm of magic ladybugs swarmed the planet to repair everything and free us. This even raised global awareness. We humans have accomplished incredible things throughout history. But still, we often fall victim to our emotions, because no one teaches us how to understand or deal with them... If we don't listen to what our fears, sadness or anger are trying to tell us—
Alya turns off the monitor, and the audience doesn't hear the lesson Anne-Jeanne is trying to convey. Gabemoth had taken advantage of negative emotions in order to akumatize his victims. Presumably, future Lilamoth will do the same.
The Paris special made it very clear that our universe Adrien is just distracting himself from his grief. Bottling up and ignoring doesn't do any good. He can avoid his hurt all he wants, but it's not getting to the core issue. He needs to address his emotions in order to heal.
More propaganda!
Anne-Jeanne's dress has moonflowers on it! Guess who loves flowers and has a lot of baggage concerning the moon! Yes, that's right, our boy Adrichat! Once again, Adrien being represented by the moon is a post for another day, BUT I DIGRESS.
Plagg is the reason the dinosaurs are extinct, and has a very particular grudge against T-Rexes in particular. Well, AnneJeanne brought the T-Rexes back to life!
More of a "Lukadrien's daughter headcanon", but I think Anne-Jeanne would be using a fake name if she's actually time traveling. I like the name Aurora because Luka's hero name Viperion is based off of Hyperion, the father of the dawn who was named Eos. Eos' Roman name is Aurora. Funnily enough, I checked the Luka Couffaine tag tonight and someone else thought his daughter would be named Aurora. I promise it was just a coincidence we both came up with this name! It also sticks to the Couffaine naming tradition of ending in "A", so it's still a pun on the French acouphène :D

I think after the events of Elation, a Ladrien scene would be perfect.
The last episode showed us that now, despite Chat Noir previously being somewhat of an escape for Adrien, he has rabid fans and unwanted attention in and out of the mask.
Don't even get me started on the Alliance rings.
Adrien has expressed discomfort with being a household AI, and Plagg has straight up called him and Lila virtual puppets.
Honestly, I think we saw Adrien come to this conclusion at the end of Multiplication. That his dad views him and his image as an extention of himself, a tool for his benefit.
We see him latch onto to the false front Gabe puts up from Illusion onwards because he desperately wants to believe in his father. Wants to believe that his dad is truly making an effort, that maybe all of the discomfort he feels isn't based on anything real. After all, Gabriel has compared Adrien to his emotional mother in a disparaging way before. I hate this man so much GOD
Now, let's look at Marinette.
This season has mentioned it a few times, but Reiunion was the point where it was outright confirmed that there are pro Monarch message boards.
Hell, we've seen Alya in Destruction tell Marinette to stop checking her computer and stressing out? The masses don't know she's Ladybug, so at least she's safe from this mess as a civilian...right?
Well, yeah...except she just had a public date with one half of Paris' crime fighting duo, Chat Noir.
You think that's not gonna spread like wildfire? Imagine how many Andre's there are. How many people are gonna chase this poor girl down because they think their ship has sunk. And now that Monarch knows that there's love there, he's gonna try targeting her even more as a civilian. With a surplus of salty shippers, I doubt that it'll be a challenge for him. Plus this man can just teleport into her freakin' room whenever he damn well pleases? HELLO??
Imagine how that would effect Tom and Sabine? Having a flood of people harrasing their daughter? Ontop of that, would business be negatively impacted? Her dad did just say that baking would help keep people happy...but I'm worried that sentiment will not be as warmly reciprocated.
So now we have these two kids that are being socially, mentally, and emotionally beaten down by society. They feel like they can't relax and forget no matter what they do or who they are.
Having a Ladrien moment that touches on the overwhelming burdens they're both shouldering? Having them touch base after the scene in Strike Back would be nice as well.
Hopefully, seeing Adrien and having this little Ladrien interaction, she would be more open to the idea of love again. Accepting that she loves Adrien and he loves her. That even if they can't get together right now, or that she can't predict every outcome, that it's alright to just be happy with him. That she doesn't need to pick and choose with who she loves, it's okay to just feel how she feels.
Have Adrien inspire her to be honest and open with her feelings as a parallel to Glaciator 2. Have him tell Ladybug about his crush on her and his crush on..well, her. Even if they both won't figure that out BUT STILL
They're only 14 years old. They deserve to know they're loved and be happy.

Gee, how is Monarch, who wields the Miraculous of Transmission, able to give the powers of other Miraculous to Akuma? It’s almost like he has some way to transmit them!
...
Okay, but what if he’s not sending the powers to the Alliance rings? What if he’s sending the Kwamis?
Whenever someone uses a Miraculous to transform, the Kwami turns into a little light and merges with the Miraculous, allowing the Magical Person Transformation Sequence to take place. This also allows the Kwami’s power to be used safely once the MPTS is finished.
When Monarch activates his Tsurugi-brand Kwami Blender, there’s a similar effect, presumably pulling the Kwami into the reforged Miraculous. This allows Monarch to access their powers normally. But he also has a new trick - Transfer. Notably, he touches the related Miraculous whenever he grants an Akuma a power.
It’s possible that Transfer uses the Butterfly Miraculous to send the Kwamis themselves to Alliance Rings, which act as a magitech imitation of the true Miraculous. The supervillains can then channel the Kwami’s powers, and the system can retrieve the Kwami if the Akuma fails.
This provides a reason for the Alliance system to exist in the first place. Monarch can’t just Transfer the powers directly, since they’re all tied to the Kwamis. And he can’t just transmit a Kwami to an Akuma’s object - because that could be anything, with no guarantee that it’s capable of holding a Kwami.
Anyway those are my thoughts on why Monarch needs Alliance and the Kwami Blender. (I mean he’d probably commission the blender anyway just because he’s a jerk, but the larger system exists beyond it.)

I’m genuinely so happy that (as far as I know, as far as what I can see), khml has been getting a really positive reception. People are enjoying themselves, having fun talking about the game and making art and theories, even just taking the time to choose clothes and hairstyles for their characters and proudly showing it off.
Missing Link is its own game, but it’s also a love letter to the chi saga. This kind of reception and energy is everything chi fans hoped for so many years ago. There was hope that the fandom at large would someday, someday see the charm in its story, appreciate its unique, fresh perspective and expansion on the kh universe, and delve into its wonderfully written characters. The fact that ml has already sparked this much joy and attention just in its beta stage is amazing, and I truly can’t wait to see where we’ll take it from here. It truly is a game about legacy, in canon and on a meta level

It is Munday, my dudes || @vitrumbra
Tumblr media
👽 AUs
Dude are you KIDDING??? I love AUs so much that back before I shortened my alias to not be an embarrassing Google Translate mishap, a running joke with my friends was (in the voice of "randy your sticks") NEGAU YOUR AU!!!!!
I'm a sucker for them. I love them. ESPECIALLY ones that stick guys from one fandom in the universe of another. My Madoka AU for the Evangelion kids is my precious baby brain child that I will cherish for the rest of forever and hopefully one day actually finish a fic or doujin or SOMETHING of. Bonus points if I can take the lore and fucking run with it like we're doing with the FFXV guys in Pokémon :^)
👨‍👨‍👧‍👧 fankids
Again: are you kidding? Not to put an RP partner on blast here, but @novuscaelum is a joy for me to interact with and bounce off of. Fankids are great! Just...with the caveat that it's mostly (not entirely but mostly) on the fankid to make sure that they're not forcing the parent to compromise too much on their portrayal. A little give and take on both ends makes for a happy RPing, but chances are if you're the fankid, you came up with your OC based on some preconceived notions you have about the canon parent(s) which you may not share with the person you're writing with. TL;DR: Communication is key!
🗝 selectiveness in the RPC
I think there's a tendency to equate selectiveness with elitism, which. It's just Not. People have boundaries, and it's important to make your own clear and respect those of others. I've been the person who didn't get followed back or got softblocked before, and it sucks!! I know it does!! But nobody on this website owes you RP interactions, and for every one person that passes on you, there will be five others that are more than willing to write with you.
🥂 my favorite part of the canon
I'll go with KH since that's one of my main things right now and you didn't specify LOL /nm
It's hard to pick one favorite thing no matter how I interpret this question. I could go with meta-wise what's my favorite thing about KH as a series, or in-universe what's my favorite plot beat, lore, etc. I'll go with the latter interpretation for the purposes of this meme, and for KH...one of my favorite things is how very not chosen one Sora is. The story goes out of its way to say that Sora is an ordinary kid who likes taking naps on the beach and is content with his life on the islands, if anything mostly going along with Riku's hunger to see what else is out there. For fuck's sake, the Kingdom Key was meant to be RIKU'S at first, and it chose his heart instead in the wake of what happened to the Islands. "I know that the Keyblade didn't choose me, and I don't care. I'm proud to be a small part of something bigger — the people it did choose."
The fact that he's just a kid who, through sheer force of will and desire to protect what matters to him, strong armed his way into being the hero is way more powerful than the Chosen One trope will ever be, in my humble opinion. It's why I'm so scared of the murmurs of theories that Sora will have some grand ties to some UX / ML era characters or be reincarnated or some shit, that would be such a massive shit on everything that the previous games set up and I hope to GOD it doesn't end up happening.

New to this tumblr account and wanting to make friends in the Miraculous fandom. No one's responded to some of my posts cause tumblr is so dead now adays 😭 Do you recommend anyone I can be friends with? I have posted and sent people so much on theories I have for season 5. And typically don't have anyone to talk about it with.
The people I mentioned in this post are all really excellent community builders in different ways. One thing most of them have in common is that they all interact with other fans’ creations and ideas as well as posting their own.
If you seek out meta or cosplay or art or fic you especially enjoy and leave comments on it, some of those creators are likely to click on your blog and see what you have to say. (I have tags for all those things, if you want a quick way to jump in).
You sound like you’re most interested in discussing season five theories, so you might wade into the “ml spoilers” tag and see who’s being insightful in there. Drop a note in the reblogs when you see an especially good or interesting take. Ask questions.
You might also try checking out a discord server. This fandom has a lot of great ones. Off the top of my head, I know Miraculous Fanworks allows S5 talk right now. I think frostedpuffs’ server has a spoiler section, but I could be mixing that up with another one; I dip in and out of a lot of ML servers and it’s hard to keep track of who’s doing what. If you have particular characters or ships you’re especially into, I might be able to recommend more specialized servers.
Good luck! And welcome to the fandom! There are a lot of us, but we tend to be a friendly lot. You’ll find your people if you keep looking.

This is a horrible page, it's freaking amazing and all it makes me do is want to freaking read more Penny and Shrike all over again. (╥_╥) The world building you did was really good and the lore was sooo fascinating, I wished there was more. I just re-read Shrike becos of this and man, it's still as good as the previous 4 times I read it.
I can't wait to dig into more about Penny's past, her family and swordsmanship and more, I got a theory what happened to them but I don't wanna overthink it too much. I'll be honest, I loved the fact that the Duke was just (メ﹏メ) and (o_O) with the fact that Penny knows the Emperor. I can't wait to see Penny use the sword and fking surprise everyone.
I will say I like how you played around more with Vinter instead of making it straight up Callisto. I understand where fans love Callisto cos he really believes that he has nothing to live for when she dies, but he did kill Penny the most in the time loops and tried again in the beginning of the manwha version. Vinter also tried killing her for the first time when she sneaked in to play with the children but Penny's at fault there cos she trespassed while Callisto just was wary tho he had reasons. But I understand where Vinter fked up with his arc not trusting Penny cos of her power but man, he did so much for her in the end and I wanna cry cos he got disregarded as the second male lead. The part that made my heart throb was when he gave Penny the poison thinking that it was for Yvonne, but didn't care, was willing to cover for Penny and planned to never help Yvonne if it took away Penny's happiness, and trusted her immediately when she said not to trust Yvonne. (;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`) So I'm really happy with what you've done.
I love this page and can't wait to see where you'll head with this story. (≧◡≦) ♡
Thank you for reading Shrike, I'm glad you enjoyed it ^^ And don't worry, the slow pace is because I'm trying to sprinkle in lore liberally and adding double meanings to 80% of the chapter.
To be honest, I wanted to skip directly to the "Penny using a sword and surprising everyone" part but noo T-T
Thank you for your thoughts on Winter and Callisto :) I'm happy that you like me giving Winter a larger role in the story. To be perfectly honest, I only really like og!Penelope now(though once a Calliope stan) but the "obsessive, will kill for you" love that Callisto shows Siyeon in the manhwa is something that I felt was exclusive to Siyeon unless in extenuating circumstances. It was her "interestingness"(i gag) that drew Callisto in, how "she's not like other noble ladies" that dragged him in further.
Again, 99.9% of my stuff is for og!Penelope, so there would be a significant difference than if, hypothetically Siyeon was the protagonist of Shrike. There are also worlds of differences between how the MLs treat Penelope and Siyeon, so in the first place, interactions will be very different.
Winter operates on the "love interest that's too late and lost his chance" path in the greater meta, but I'm not gonna spoil anything further shhhh ( ̄b ̄)
I hope you continue to read and enjoy Shrike! It's my beloved baby, and I'm super excited every time there's a comment on AO3 or a tumblr ask :))

📝 Editorial: Cerebras Inference and the Challenges of Challenging NVIDIA’s Dominance
AI hardware is experiencing an innovation renaissance, with well-funded startups emerging everywhere. Yet, NVIDIA remains virtually unchallenged, holding close to a 90% share of the AI chip market. Why is that?
We’ve all heard explanations about the advantages of NVIDIA’s software stack for acceleration compared to platforms like AMD’s, which seems like a lazy explanation for why NVIDIA is out-innovating its competitors. A simple theory that I’ve discussed with several scientists and engineers who pretrain large foundation models is that NVIDIA is the only platform receiving regular feedback about the performance of chips during pretraining runs with tens of thousands of GPUs. It turns out that at that scale, many challenges arise that are nearly impossible to simulate on a smaller scale. I will elaborate more on that theory in a future post, but the main point is that there is a very high barrier to entry when it comes to challenging NVIDIA chips for pretraining. The only viable candidate seems to be Google TPUs, which have definitely been tested at massive scale.
If pretraining is out of the equation, the obvious area to explore is inference. Here, we have a completely different playing field, where performance optimizations can be applied at a smaller scale, making it more conducive to startup disruptions.
One of the viable challengers to NVIDIA’s dominance in AI inference is Cerebras. Just last week, the well-funded startup unveiled Cerebras Inference, a solution capable of delivering Llama 3.1 8B at 450 tokens per second for Llama 3.1 70B. This is approximately 20x faster than NVIDIA GPUs and about 2.4x faster than Groq. The magic behind Cerebras’ performance is its AI chip design, which allows the entire model to be stored on-chip, eliminating the need for GPU communication.
Cerebras Inference looks impressive from top to bottom and clearly showcases the massive potential for innovation in AI inference. Competing with NVIDIA will require more than just faster chips, but Cerebras appears to be a legitimate challenger.

Timeline of Generative AI Marvels:Modern Breakthroughs
Tumblr media
Timeline of generative AI From Alan Turing’s early work to today’s transformers, generative AI has advanced. Explore the timeline of generative AI.
Generative ai history timeline Learning about generative AI helps explain its breakthroughs. Generational AI models create high-quality images, text, audio, synthetic data, and more. These models often learn from content dataset patterns and relationships to create new content. Most foundational models predict the next word using large language models (LLMs) trained on natural language.
Why Is Generative AI Important? Recently, generative AI has rapidly evolved, changing how machines understand and interact with humans. Generative AI can create content instead of classifying or analyzing data, a major AI advancement. Today, companies can build customized models on foundational models to quickly adapt to many downstream tasks without task-specific training.
Generative AI 1940s–1960s The mid-20th century birth of AI gave rise to generated AI, which has garnered attention recently.
1950s: Claude Shannon publishes his “Information Theory,” laying the foundation for data compression and communication, crucial for AI development The 1947 paper by Alan Turing on whether machines could detect rational behavior introduced “intelligent machinery”. In 1950, he proposed the Turing Test, where a human judge evaluates text-based conversations between a human and a machine that mimics human responses. If the evaluator couldn’t tell it from a human, the machine passed.
1960s: ELIZA, an early chatbot, simulates conversation using pattern matching Early generative AI systems included British scientist Joseph Weizenbaum’s 1961 ELIZA chatbot. The first talking computer program that simulated psychotherapy, ELIZA, had text-based conversations with basic responses.
Generative AI 1980s–2010s As machine learning algorithms improved, generative AI let machines learn from data and improve.
An RNN/LSTM network In the late 1980s and 1997, RNNs and LSTM networks improved AI systems‘ sequential data processing. Understanding order dependence helped LSTM solve speech recognition and machine translation problems.
1990s: Generative adversarial networks (GANs) are conceived as a training approach for neural networks The unsupervised ML algorithm GAN uses two competing neural networks. Model-generating networks generate content, while discriminative networks verify it. With many attempts, the generator will produce high-resolution images the discriminator cannot distinguish from real ones.

2023: Generative AI sees widespread adoption across various industries, with ethical debates continuing. Advanced generative AI models DALL-E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion manipulate visual content from text. Realistic images are created by proprietary models DALL-E by OpenAI and Midjourney. Although open-source, Stable Diffusion produces high-quality images. They first showed Stable Diffusion on an Android phone in February 2023.
The impact and future of generative AI Different industries could use generative AI. Teachers and healthcare professionals could use it to create learning plans and patient rehabilitation training. Graphic and fashion designers can design new logos, styles, and patterns. Personalized digital assistants can book travel, create diet and exercise plans, and pay bills. Developers code faster. Devices facilitate chat-like conversations. Generative AI can conduct nearly unlimited scientific research and analysis.
Generative AI for on-device applications alone can reduce cloud-based AI costs and energy consumption while improving data privacy and security, latency, performance, and contextual personalization.
Generative AI will advance machine capabilities and shape technology. Generative AI may replace laptops and shift processing from cloud to device. Personal AI assistants will make smartphones essential. Marketers and creatives will boost efficiency, productivity, and time-to-market. Extended reality will change world, and consumers will want devices to work across open ecosystems.
Since the 1950s, generative AI has grown in importance and innovation, with new innovations and demonstrations of its many capabilities released almost daily. Technology has improved industry creativity, efficiency, and innovation. Generative AI applications will likely advance and change AI use.
Understanding generative AI’s potential applications and impact on various industries requires staying current on its rapid development. Generative AI demonstrates technological advancement and limitless AI potential.

From “jubilation” it seems like we are either gonna get MORE packages of several episodes which turn out to be on the same day, or at least the following episodes will still keep up the habit of filling in context of former episodes.
Because in “Jubilation” the first time we see the real Adrien he already HAS his Alliance ring and isnt wearing it anymore:
Tumblr media
But through trailers and leaks we already know that we are still about to see the moment where Gabriel gives Adrien the Alliance ring and also possibly the moment where Adrien will decide to take it off:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I suppose there is a solid chance that in season 5 - on top of the regular episode pairs like in s4 as we know by now - we might be getting packages of 3 episodes that belong together as well
Tumblr media
(whiiiiiiiiich would explain why there is an additional episode this season. You can't divide 26 by 3, but 27:3 = 9)

Analysis of Adrien - S5 up to Ep 9
I am loving Season 5 so far, and having caught up with all the latest episodes aired in France, I’m more excited than ever.
So, let’s talk about Cat’s behaviour in ‘Elation’. If you’re like me, you were near-screaming at the Marichat kiss - even more so when Cat broke it off, then Mari was akumatised, and then there was more kissy-kissy-meow-meow (my new favourite phrase in life). Their kiss was right out of ‘Amelie’, by the way – adorable. And against a backdrop of a Statue of Liberty, as if reminding us that they’re not yet free.
More than just teasing the audience, Cat’s response was so in character. As Adrien, in ‘Determination’ he told Kagami that he’d started seeing Marinette differently in ‘Puppeteer 2.0′. We can go back even further, to ‘Troublemaker’, where Marinette had her chance to confess her feelings but chickened out and claimed to be just a fan. In fact, every time Adrien says she’s ‘just a friend’, we can substitute this with ‘just a fan’. He’s not oblivious - he’s careful.
Because of Marinette’s explanation for the photos on her wall, Adrien didn’t take her feelings seriously (and, I mean, how surreal must it be to have a friend with a fangirl crush on you?). This is evidenced in ‘Puppeteer 2.0′ when they’re in the car on the way to the museum and he tells Manon that they’re just friends. But it’s clear that his feelings are all mixed up, because he then worries deeply about Marinette possibly not liking him. Then he poses as a statue and she kisses him - and he jumps away.
At the time, we weren’t told why he reacted this way. We never got to see his thoughts when he lay in bed that night, no doubt running it over in his mind again. But we did see a future timestream in ‘Cat Blanc’ where the moment Adrien learned Marinette loved him, he was deliriously happy and told her he’d always felt there was something more than just friendship between them and now he finally knew why. We also saw him stare at her with her hair down and call her beautiful, in ‘Heart Hunter’. Then Kagami pushed herself on him and Mari was suddenly with Luka, and Adrien had no time to sort out his feelings. When Kagami kissed him, he was confused and said he wasn’t ready. He then took a step back from the girls while he tried to sort through his Ladybug problems, which shifted in ‘Glaciator 2.0′ - and the moment he began to evolve for the better was when he listened to Marinette’s love confession for Adrien. It was clear on his face that he was seeing her with new eyes.
By the time we reach ‘Determination’, his admission to Kagami tells us he has loved Marinette a long time but been waiting for her to give some indication that she feels the same, so he can clarify those feelings in his heart. I’ve said before: he’s a celebrity, used to being chased down by fans and receiving declarations of love from plenty of people who don’t know him. As long as he thought Mari was ‘just a fan’, he couldn’t allow himself to open his heart to it being more. But it’s all reached a point where he can’t hide it anymore.
As an aside, I loved the line Kagami gave him about needing to look in a mirror and figure himself out...because ‘kagami’ is Japanese for ‘mirror’.
I also loved the parallel of ‘Determination’ with ‘Frozer’, with Luka and Kagami there again, now pushing a different relationship.
Getting back to Adrien: I think that kiss in ‘Puppeteer 2.0′ was nearly what he needed to see Marinette as a love interest - but she dodged it again. It was almost the permission he needed to think of her as more than ‘just a fan’. He pushed her away because he liked it but needed to sort out his feelings...and, more importantly, because he knew he was tricking her and felt he was taking advantage of her.
Let’s jump back to ‘Elation’, when Cat kisses Marinette and then pulls away, yet again. His reasoning is that he’s behind a mask - he knows who she is but she doesn’t know who he is, and he doesn’t want to take advantage of her. He wants to kiss her but doesn’t want to steal that kiss. It has to be fair, honest and open. She just told him she no longer loves Adrien, so he has to be thinking if she knew it was him, she might not want him kissing her. He did the right thing.
When he says she doesn’t know who he is, again this is all about the idea of fandom. From his perspective, she’s just told him over and over and over again, ‘I’m a super, super fan.’ It’s no accident that earlier in the episode, Adrien was shown running from crowds of fans both as himself and as Cat, and getting infuriated by it. In both guises, he’s a celebrity. He wants someone to love him for him, and Marinette once again made herself ‘just a fan’ in his eyes. Of course he can’t pursue that.
The painful irony is that he has no way of knowing that the whole reason she now loves him as Cat Noir is exactly because she’s finally seeing him for who he truly is. She knows him better than he realises. But how to reveal that without sharing her identity? Alya was right - this stuff can’t work unless they can be wholly honest with each other. I maintain that Ladybug needs to tell Cat about Cat Blanc, if they’re ever going to move forward.
His face, though, when Andre just flat out told him Marinette had been in love with Adrien all that time.... All these years waiting for her to get those words out, and they were finally dropped so simply. This house got LOUD, over that one! You just know Adrien spent the whole night looking back over every single crazy exchange with her, reframing all of it and thinking, ‘Oh my god, is that what was going on!?’ And Marinette doesn’t even know this is in his mind. Now we have Adrien knowing things about her that she doesn’t know he knows, just like she knows about Cat Blanc. Like...what can I even say??
Amazing.

Unpopular opinion maybe but I don't think Marinette is going to stop trust Adrien and close herself off to him. And Adrien would never let miscommunication get in the way of his friendships again.
Tumblr media
I think if anything Adrien is going to take charge more and speak his mind. I think he learned that he has to talk, not just to Mari or his dad but to his friends and also Ladybug. He wants her to trust him so he's going to do everything he can to get it. So I think this will actually lead him to be more vocal and outspoken. No more hiding his thoughts and feelings to please others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I think Marinette, although she might be embarrassed or ashamed about getting them mixed up, will probably continue to listen to Adrien.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She might even see him in a new light, maybe not quite the same as Chat Noir but that line about her trusting him just this once and him seeing her at her worst might mean we get more ladrien confiding scenes (look I cam dream)
Tumblr media
Plus i think Adrien the way he is now would never stand for Marinette retreating from him. On the contrary he will probably seek her out more and get her attention and make her talk. They've both learned the dangers of miscommunication and not trusting your partner, I don't think they will make it again
Tumblr media
I feel like the reveal is going to happen sooner rather than later, maybe within the first few episodes even (a parallel to Gang of Secrets in episode 3 even? 🤔)
Tumblr media
Both of them have now realized they can't do this alone. I don't think it's going to make them retreat away from each other, I think it's going to make them even stronger and more together.

marinette is sympathetic, adrien is empathetic.
Tumblr media
it is i, the overthinker who spends their precious mental energy on a children's show, and i am here to point out an aspect of the characterization of miraculous' main leads that i personally find quite exciting (or else i wouldn't be writing this post): how marinette and adrien relate to and connect with others. as the two characters were designed to be complementary to each other, so their approaches in that regard differ, so here's to diving in that character analysis!
although some use sympathy and empathy interchangeably, the two words connote entirely different ways to experience human connection. sympathy is about sharing others' feelings and experiencing them as if they're your own, but you're limited to only understanding these feelings through your own experience. empathy needs you to put yourself in the other person's shoes, granting an understanding beyond your personal perspective, but without necessarily sharing those feelings.
marinette and adrien are both people pleasers. they value kindness and enjoy helping others. other people's happiness is a source of joy, even at their own expense. the differences, however, lie in how they understand other people, which in turn influences how their kindness towards others manifests.
marinette is sympathetic. the flaw that keeps manifesting in her relationships is that she struggles with understanding other's feelings deeply, because she finds it hard to put herself in other people's place. it's not that marinette is cold, unemotional or selfish; we've seen plenty of times that when someone close to her experiences feelings of sadness or sorrow, marinette immediately gets saddened, too. but a lot of her solutions to relationship conflicts are thought of through a one-size-fits-all lens. there's also the fact that marinette is a proactive character and takes the initiative to console, cheer up, do something special for, save someone and so on, and when she doesn't have the full information, she can come off as silly ('mr. pigeon 72') or even be harmful (the bizarre scene in 'style queen pt. 2' when she makes chloé and her emotionally abusive mother bond over how awful they are?).
marinette loves to show her affection through gifts, so everyone special to her gets to receive something she made with love and care. marinette likes being around others when she's feeling down, so she assumes that everyone likes to be comforted by a group of people when they're sad. marinette has never lost a parent and doesn't know what to say to someone who has, so she confesses her feelings for adrien on the anniversary of his mother's death (to be fair, that was tikki's idea). marinette believes in honesty, so she struggles to understand why someone wouldn't share the same value.
Tumblr media
a prime example is 'mr. pigeon 72', where she learns that adrien and kagami have broken up, and immediately assumes that kagami is devastated, but also must rekindle her love for adrien. over the course of the episode, marinette hilariously projects her love for adrien on kagami, along with her own fears and insecurities. she ignores the disappointment that kagami expresses about their failed relationship, and claims that maybe the next course of action - looking into his eyes, seeing him model for the commercial, et cetera - will make kagami fall in love again, in the way marinette is in love with him - wobbly knees, blushes and stammering.
adrien is empathetic. he refrains from making definite judgement about others until he's able to understand where they come from; until then, it's all maybes. he's also less likely to express his support through grand gestures; his approach is rather quiet in comparison to marinette's. adrien's ability to understand other people's perspectives comes with the drawback of how it interacts with other parts of his personality, like his naivety, which mingled with his optimism and hopefulness, can create the prime circumstance for being taken advantage of. he is interested in who people are deep inside, and he also believes there is goodness in everyone. "no one is useless, not even chloé".
Tumblr media
adrien's empathy, combined with his circumstances and the way he was raised, results in him being nearly willfully blind and delusional. he is able to come up with excuses for the way his father is treating him - he's grieving emilie (as if adrien isn't also grieving!), he's busy, he's overprotective. when plagg informs him (if a little harshly) that felix has been scooping around his cousin's room and rummaging through his personal belongings, adrien explains that felix recently lost his father and that must be why he's behaving so weirdly.
adrien's people pleasing ways manifest in putting on personas to make everyone happy. who is adrien agreste? whoever you need him to be. he's the golden child his father demands. he's ladybug's silly and loyal companion, because she needs his jokes and trust. he's nino's best bro. he's the polite teenager that will behave perfectly in the classroom. adrien tailors his approach to be what others want him to be, while marinette goes overboard with showing her love and care, always doing something for someone. being versus doing.
Tumblr media
i loved 'guiltrip' for exploring this difference in their characters. marinette runs after an upset juleka and crashes into adrien. she believes that she has said something wrong to upset juleka so much, but adrien reassures her that she doesn't have it in her to say cruel things. when they hear juleka crying, adrien immediately takes charge and asks marinette to stay behind. he slowly approaches juleka and asks her if she's okay. juleka tells him that she'd rather be alone ("you want to be alone? i understand."), but marinette has already sent texts about juleka's hiding place to their classmates, despite juleka's desire to cry in peace. in the end, adrien tells her that she "hung on to that secret as long as [she] could, but it was just too heavy to bear alone", and marinette chimes in with "that's what friends are for". adrien has shifted his approach for the situation, but marinette hasn't.
Tumblr media
the class clearly cares a lot about juleka and don't want to betray her trust. but they also care about rose and are afraid that she can get ill again. adrien is the only one who abides by rose's wish to not give her any special treatment. marinette, as the assertive class representive, scrambles to organize the class when rose sneezes and they panic; you can hear adrien asking marinette to calm down. both of them care about rose, but they showed that care differently due to the way they perceive information about others' feelings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
unsurprisingly, this affects their superhero personas and the ladynoir dynamic. marinette's sympathy is why she's able to connect with the masses as ladybug, representing the perfect, serious and reliable superhero, giving grand speeches on top of the eiffel tower, affecting everyone who is watching her. adrien would rather stay behind and connect one-on-one with civilians, leaving ladybug to deal with the press for the most part. there's also the lucky charm that requires marinette to choose the correct path that will solve the riddle and release the akuma. her difficulty with brainstorming many scenarios instead of just one is now her advantage.
there's something poetic about how marinette's anxiety is, for the most part, caused by her feelings for adrien, but adrien is the only person able to calm her down (as chat noir, of course). he validates her feelings of insecurity, and then is able to shift her mindset by introducing a different perspective, something that has come up in all season finales so far.
some people will relate more to marinette. some people will relate more to adrien. it's not that one approach is better than the other, because they both have their weak spots and have to be developed to be strong anyway. but adrien and marinette would be able to learn how to operate in the other's mode because of how strong their bond is, and i think that's great, because it's all about the parallels!

why i love the sentiadrien theory.
(NOTE: this isn't a list of reasons why i believe the theory's true, i know that's already been talked about and debated a lot. these are just reasons i think it's a good twist in the story.)
it has the potential to be so powerful for adrien's character arc. whenever he finds a way to free himself, whether that's by getting a hold of his own amok, or even figuring out how to destroy his connection to it (personally i love the foil-miraculous theory so im rooting for the concept of a cool upgraded cataclysm), it'll be so meaningful as a symbol of overcoming abuse and finding freedom. ESPECIALLY if that comes in the image of using the power of destruction he was given to cataclysm his metaphorical shackles just like how he's cataclysmed physical cages and walls so many times throughout the show. just. the SYMBOLISM. chefs kiss
whenever mari/ladybug finds out about this, hopefully we'll get to see her go all Fierce Protector Mode to defend adrien/chat and encourage him that he's still an amazing and valid person (please?? this would be so cute????)
also since marinette, who holds the miraculous of creation, is known for her bravery, agency, and creativity- traits adrien as a senti never had a chance to have growing up- it gives more reason to root for her and adrien's relationship. she can help him heal, bring out his humanity and grow into himself. if that makes sense?? i read a rlly cool meta on this once but i forget who wrote it:(
it gives a meaningful reason for emilie's death. the plot of the show literally wouldn't exist if not for emilie dying (or falling into a coma if that's what you prefer), and it would be a bit anticlimactic to find out that the reason she died was because she just wanted to create, idk, robot assistants or a pet dog or something. whoever emilie created, she DIED for them, and so imo it only makes sense that the being she created was adrien, her child.
sentimonsters are such a good metaphor for abuse. since the show's for kids, it's hard to talk blatantly about heavy topics like abuse, but this lets them deal with it in a kid-friendly way. and i know this has been discussed already, but i don't think that using a magical metaphor lessens the gravity of the issue at all. as i saw someone point out, miraculous has always been a show that uses magical metaphors (akumas, superhero disguises, you name it) to talk about real-life issues both kids and adults deal with, and personally i think that's really beautiful.
it just..... honestly makes the show so much more interesting/dark/angsty???? in a way that's chillingly unexpected, but also makes so much narrative SENSE looking back on it, which i think we can all agree is the best kind of plot twist. personally as much as i love the lighthearted funny parts of the show (i do!!!), i've always been drawn to the contrast of its more tragic, epic-scale side (especially since seeing cat blanc aka my favorite episode lol). IM NOT EVIL I JUST LIKE PAIN, OK
all the potential for angsty fanarts/fics/other fanworks. i've seen quite a few of these but i know there's also a lot more out there i haven't seen yet, and i just love all the concepts that fans are exploring because of this theory.
sentimonster jokes/memes are hilarious sorry. but not really sorry because i am 1000% sure adrien "i-cope-with-my-problems-with-humor" agreste will be TOTALLY on board the jokes too once he gets over the initial shock/existential horror/etc
ok i think that's all i have off the top of my head but if anyone else thinks of more reasons plz reblog and add on!!! let's get some more positivity for this show's writing and for our senti cat child because he sure deserves it <333

what we know about sentis
i revisited some previous episodes to get my senti facts straight lol. (some of this is very obvious at this point but my brain was hurting so i wanted a masterlist)
sentimonsters are emotions transformed into a living creature by a peacock holder
peacock holders can use their own emotion or someone else's to create the senti (mayura)
a peacock holder can sense an amok, even when the holder is not currently transformed (feast)
any peacock holder can release the amok of any senti, even if they aren't the original creator (feast)
if the senti's amok object is broken, the amok is released and the senti disappears (feast, reflekdoll, etc.)
anyone in possession of the senti's amok can control the senti, even if they aren't the senti's creator (ladybug)
this applies to peacock holders too—even the one who created the senti. they must have control of the object in order to control the senti (feast)
a senti in possession of their own amok has complete autonomy (ladybug)
if a senti is cataclysmed, the link betwen the senti and its amok holder is broken and it can no longer be controlled (reflekdoll)
some stuff that wasn't necessarily in an episode but was confirmed by thomas:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
stuff i am assuming based on the episodes:
a senti has autonomy unless it is being overridden by the amok holder (sentibug seemed to go kind of inactive as soon as mayura wasn't telling her what to do anymore, but i think that's just because she was created so recently and didn't know what to do if she wasn't receiving orders. she looked kind of shocked? but if ladybug had just been holding her amok but not giving commands or if it was just sitting there with no one holding it i assume she could do what she wanted)
Tumblr media
a senti can be whatever the creator intends and will believe whatever its told—meaning that a senti might not know they're a senti if they were told something different
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so applying this to felix and adrien, here are some facts and possibilities:
adrien and felix must have different creators
presumably, emilie created adrien, and that is why she got sick (using the broken peacock miraculous)
the emotion she used to create adrien (probably love) could've been her own but it also could've been gabriel's
it would also make sense for felix's father to be the one who created felix, since he died around the same time emilie did
the emotion used to create felix could have been his own or amelie's
the twin rings are pretty clearly the amok objects
felix is aware that he is a senti—he either figured it out somehow or was been told by his father before he died (which explains amelie's comments about how his dad isn't around to keep him out of trouble and adrien's excuses for his behavior—he is acting out because he just learned he is a senti and is upset)
felix stole his amok object in felix and offered it to amelie, but she let him keep it, so he is now in complete control of himself
gabriel has adrien's amok
but adrien was cataclysmed in "miraculer," so his link with his amok should be broken
as the current peacock holder, gabriel can release the amoks of either adrien or felix at will
nathalie's gotta be in the know about the senti business—if she was not previously aware that adrien is a senti, she would be able to sense his amok once she became the peacock holder
stuff i am still unsure about lol:
if gabriel had felix's amok this whole time why didn't he use it to control felix and make him stop being a little turd in felix
maybe bc the control would be too obvious and amelie would be pissed??
if gabriel can control adrien with the ring why didn't he do that in chat blanc or any other time adrien was being disobedient
if adrien's link with his amok is broken then why is gabriel seemingly still able to control him in ephemeral and possibly other times after that?
how does the emotional core affect a human senti? if adrien was creatied to be the embodiment of love, does that mean he is incapable of performing any acts that are not ultimately motivated by love?
was gabriel wearing adrien's object the entire time or was it on emilie's body? or possibly somewhere else? in felix we see him polishing the twin rings and then putting one ring on emilie's finger and one on his finger, but we don't see where they were before that
did gabriel put on felix's ring as a precaution since felix was visiting? so he could control him if needed? (but then he didn't? lol)
was emilie actively controlling adrien while she was alive? since adrien's childhood dream was to be what his parents wanted him to be, it seems that he was not granted much autonomy by his amok holder(?)
does the amok holder have to be knowingly giving an order to the senti for it to be effective? like, if gabriel has had adrien's ring this whole time and has commanded chat noir no less than 10 million times to hand over his miraculous, why wasn't adrien forced to do that?
what does "possession" actually entail in terms of the amok? does the amok holder have to be physically holding/wearing the amok object in order to control the senti? or if gabriel was keeping adrien's ring on emilie instead of wearing it himself, does that mean adrien was not being controlled at all between the time of her disappearance and the episode felix? (magically at least—clearly still a lot of manipulation by gabriel)
why did gabriel even have both rings? wouldn't amelie have had felix's ring from the beginning?
amelie said she wanted the rings back but also seemed weirdly chill about someone else being able to physically control her child? lol
does amelie know that felix knows he's a senti? in felix when she let him keep the ring she winked at him, so i'm assuming that she does. which also makes it significant that felix offered the ring to her first, like he trusted/loved her enough to keep it but she gave him the gift of his own freedom instead
why does she care about having both of them if one of them is adrien's?
when was the peacock miraculous broken? was it already broken when emilie used it, or did she break it by using it? like, maxing out its power somehow by creating such an advanced senti?
is it possible that an advanced enough senti can live even if their amok is released/destroyed?
why are adrien and felix identical? was it just because emilie and amelie are identical, so the children created in their image are identical?
or was either felix or adrien a "copy" of the other? maybe felix was a "scrapped" version of adrien made by gabriel and then emilie made adrien and gave felix to her sister? if felix found this out, that would explain the resentment he seemed to show toward adrien in "felix" and would also give these comments additional meaning:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MAN this is long, sorry...i've just had so many Thoughts buzzing around in my head lol but i think im done, feel free to add
