I really like monster x human dynamics but I always see it where the monster is dominant and personally. I go a hit more crazy for when it's actually the human who's in charge.

Especially if you add petplay into it???? Like cmon. Something about it is so hot to me, these dangerous and otherworldly monsters getting overpowered and tamed by human hands, used for human pleasure and adopted as their pets. There's something so appealing to me thinking about humans meeting something above them in the food chain, and using their superiority to turn then into needy subs who just want their human to touch them so soo bad :((

this is a generalization but for the most part I think what is vital for understanding the romance genre and romance tropes is that it’s a fantasy genre. it’s romantic fantasy. (set aside specific subgenres/subversions etc for a moment). and it’s fantasy that needs to be contextualized by societal ideas about romantic relationships, whether the fantasy is about reinforcing them or subverting them. I personally think that because of genre/subject is a fantasy in context of a society that is oppressive/hostile to the core audience (speaking generally, women), the fantasies naturally center power in most narratives. You can say the same about a lot of other genre fiction, but I do think the romance genre is distinct in terms of having a core audience of women and being dominated by women. (I’m also speaking specifically about novels—I don’t have evidence to back this but, but I do get the impression that a lot of romantic movies have a more even split of male directors/writers…?) but anyway, I think it’s a really interesting mirror… even the really shitty ones can be read from the perspective of ‘what cultural relational shorthands are they using to convey a romantic fantasy and how are they failing’ lol

;; Hey guys. Just poking in here to say I'm going to be working on my blog this week updating rules and such. I might go 'private' for a bit, which would just mean I'm only going to interact with those I currently am mutuals with (this includes muns with side blogs that I've interacted with). This will be temporary until I feel comfy again.

Ask box will always be open to anyone, but won't necessarily result in threads with people I don't follow.

I may also drop some threads/clear stuff out to start fresh. Anything I have muse for I'll keep. But I'm always open to new plots and things so just because something is dropped does not mean I don't want to do anything with you!

Would the ROs watch Barbie or Oppenheimer

yoo this is like the first time I’m using Tumblr on mobile and I had written the whole answer but it got deleted cus I’m literally in the middle of no where and the connection keeps jumping😭 (also I can’t find the colour yellow someone help me)

BUT ITS A GOOD QUESTION

Martin would watch Oppenheimer, but probably also watch Barbie if MC forced convinced him to. He’d be frowning and sighing the whole time but he'd actually love it.

Demetra would also watch Oppenheimer and like Martin, she’d watch Barbie only if MC literally begged her to. She would probably not ever try to watch it and she’d just stare at MC the whole time only to glance at the screen a few times to look at hot actors or to think about how similar Emma Mackey and Margot Robbie are

Evander would watch Barbie and not even know what Oppenheimer is. To answer this question, he’d to watch the trailer and be like “Yeah I’m not watching that.”

Harley would watch and appreciate both movies, mainly because she loves going to the cinema and basically watching everything that’s available. She’d probably like Barbie a tad more, but only cause she’d watch it with her brother

Echo would watch Oppenheimer mainly cause she loves Christopher Nolan. ( i can’t find the colour yellow for her, help)

Dominic would watch Oppenheimer by himself or with MC, and Barbie with her daughter. He’d like both and wouldn’t be ashamed at all about it. What Dom usually does after a movie is to start listing all the pros and cons and basically write a film analysis essay bahaha
