i figure u personally are not the type to do therapy or work with a clinician but i am curious are there any modalities or 'schools of thought' related to therapy that you think are good or may be worth it to try or work with?

haha i was kind of talking to a friend about this recently. i mean at the end of the day part of the reason therapy has always been at best useless to me is because it really just boils down to self help platitudes that are like. not that complex and that i already know & use as needed like eg CBT is just gaslighting urself out of having negative feelings that make you economically unproductive, DBT is the same but for people who prefer to still have (hold space for) the negative feelings while being economically productive, IFS is hegelian split consciousness for the nuclear family liker, etc. like yeah i also need to be economically productive if i don't want to die & so i use versions of therapy techniques all the time by myself im a very functional person by paper standards. the difference is that i don't have to pretend im Healing anything or Bettering Myself and also i have no problem combining the gaslighting with like a k hole if that's also what i want. and when you use self help as self help you can actually just experiment and see what makes your life better, as opposed to a professional setting where if you fuck it up they might call ye olde friendly jail services on you. so it's therapy techniques if we didn't have to pretend they were medical care you know what i mean

hi! i love your art, and i especially love the way you design the character’s outfits! they always look super cool and cohesive. do u have any advice for drawing clothing? (especially design wise) whenever i try and draw outfits my brain blanks unless i have an exact reference lol

I like world building, so first, I look to see if the place where the person I´m designing is described geographically, where they live, and their lifestyle. If not much is said, I look at the lands around and go from there.

I mostly put a focus on the weather, but mostly lifestyle and wealth. Of course the fauna near the person is important too, and if they have the possibility to get transported goods.

I made three versions of Maedhros from his three times living in different climates, here they are shortly, a more detailed description are down - note; this is Noldorin fashion and I depict other groups in different styles

These notes are only about the clothing, not jewelry, hair, or cosmetics.

Maedhros!Valinor:

The underwear is made of linen and here a long skjorte with a tied inner cloth with loose breaches to accompany Valinor stable weather that can easily cool you down and keep you warm at the same time. The edges of the skjorte is embroidered as it is meant to be shown. This has been seen a lot over history that an undergarment or something "sexual" meant to be hidden is shown in a glimpse - a modern equivalent would be showing the rim of your boxers or a bra strap. The clothes are long and layered and reaches the ground, unpractical for any manual labour or any wear that doesn´t have clean floors. The colours are saturated and a lot of white is used too.

Detail notes: While not noticeable I HC that Maedhros white robe is lined with gold cloth to match the embroidery around it, which is made on top of it where his purple robe is made with brocade.

Maedhros!Himring:

The underwear is not tighter and shorter to give better modality and keep warmth rather than cold. The sleeves are sewn to look big as heavy clothes can´t be used the same way, the sleeves have therefor become a new fashion symbol as well as status, it makes the arm look bigger and therefor the wear stronger, as well as give something to look at now that heavy fabrics that reaches the hands aren´t a choice anymore. All the robes reach just below the knee to still cover and fill, but also to make it easy to move in. The clothes are now looking broader to show strength and satiety. - Beleriand is in war, food is scarce, especially in the north close to Angband, and clothes are now made to make you look fat and well fed in this part of Beleriand. Fur has become an important aspect of fashion too, especially if sewn into clothes as padding or trims. Damask is used more in Himring than brocade which is used most in Doriath and Hithlum court.

Black is used due to the symbolism, but also as it is an expensive colour to hold as black as possible, it shows that someone with so much black clothes has the money to uphold it and to constantly buy new clothes to replace the old ones, as it is one of the easiest to break. - Due to Himring´s long winter and harsh climate, flowers and other forms of fauna quickly make themselves into fashion and are depicted on almost everything from walls, to tables, to clothes, to windows, and so on.

Maedhros!Amon Ereb:

The clothes here are still made to look you well fed but not in the same way as it was in Himring, as this part of Beleriand was hit much later with scarce food and therefore has a stronger hold on thin and strong fashion.

While still black, it is more gre,y which shows a fall in wealth, due to the visibility to now keep the clothes functioning for as long as possible without the possibility to carelessly throw it away.

Genreal notes on Noldorin Clothes:

Clothing are a social marker and always has been therefore it´s the same for the Noldor. There is a difference between the classes of society in how clothes are worn and the decorations used, to quickly show rank and status to those around you. Usually, the less practical your clothes are, the richer you are.

The style of clothes is also tied to your rank, meaning someone of one rank can´t wear a certain type of clothing style as that is outside of their social class. Different textile techniques are also sometimes defined by your rank.

Notes on fabric and technics:

Brocade and damask are also used a lot due to the hardship of producing it, where a cheaper solution would be printed patterns to those outside of the elite. Brocade is usually worn to court, where damask is a more daily solution as it is mostly made on linen and doesn´t appear as three dimensional as brocade.

Linen and cotton are usually worn as under clothes due to their lightweight and breathable properties, they are also used for pants. = flax fibers and cotton plant

Silk is usually worn as some form of overwear due to it reflecting light and expensive manufacture. = Silkworms cocoon

Velvet is usually used for clothing padding, or pants. = special loom usually with silk although linen, cotton and wool can be used

Cashmere is used for thin over clothes and usually only for decoration. = cashmere goats

Wool is used rarely and if it is it is used as padding in colder climate, so something you have in between your under and over clothes. It is also and important aspect of the military later in Beleriand as it is easy to get and you stay warm even in rain. = hair of animals (sheep, goats, cows, dogs, etc)

Rayon is used a lot by the Noldor too as it is easier to get than silk and hold a more stable temorature. Rayon is usually chosen for a pieces of clothes that requires a lot of embroidery silk wouldn´t be able to hold or as a tunic. = wood pulp

Notes on dyes:

Dyed clothes can be categorised in two; cheap home dyed fabrics, with local based dyes and expensive professional dyed fabrics, coloured with imported and expensive ingredients. The more clearer a colour the wealthier. - the colour mentioned here is what I draw him in.

White although not seemingly much is expensive due to the ingrediency being hard to obtain and not something you just get shipped to you, it shows wealth as the common folk of the Noldo really uses it and are more drown to easy colourful clothes instead, it also symbolises purity as it absorbs colours better than any other dyes. - Easy = sun bleaching (never really white white more like a pale yellow or brown) Expensive = chemical help Black requires the fibres to be dyed repeatedly therefore, it is also a symbol of wealth, although it is less eye catching which also makes it the colour for humility and plainness. Black fabrics also holds the shortes amount of times if dyed with alum. - Expensive = mix of the basic dyes: (madder, weld and woad, alum), acorns, galnuts, oak apple Yellow/gold although and easy colour to obtain is still a colour used by the elite as it can represent gold as a heraldic colour. - Easy and mild yellow = tansy, goldenrod, birch leaves and wild chervil Expensive and satured yellow = turmeric, saffron, onion skin, marigold, chamomile Red/Scarlet is at times some of the most expensive due to the material used to get a scarlet red. Easy still expensive but cheaper = madder root (the root are harvested once a year - the leaf are harvested the whole year but gives a slightly different colour - madder can also give pink), brazilwood (can also make pink and purple) Expensive = raisin dragonsblood, kermes, scale insects Purpel/violet is at times more expensive than gold due to the ingredients. - Easy = kermes and alum Expensive = dog whelk

Entahlah..

Aku hanya bisa berharap yang baik-baik saja, perihal mu ataupun perihal ku.

Karena bagiku, tidak ada yang namanya tahun baru, karena semenjak pergi mu, aku hanya menjadi manusia dengan luka lalu yang semakin pilu.

Pun pada setiap hari yang kutempuh, melupakanmu juga adalah inginku, di setiap hari yang berlalu yang kuharapkan cuma satu, semoga perasaan di hari lalu tidak turut serta ke tahun yang baru.

Meskipun berbagai kejadian terjadi, kita tetap berdiri dan berlari. Belajar dari banyak kesalahan dan kebenaran, memupuki diri agar menjadi lebih kuat dan hebat. Menilik waktu telah berlalu, aku di bawa bertamasya ria pada masa yang membuat hati begitu sepi dan nyaris mati. Tapi hidup masih tak kunjung mau menyerah, dengan alasan yang begitu banyak berkeliaran dalam kepala bertahan hingga sekarang menjadi piala kemenangan.

Ah, buku lain yang telah mencapai halaman terakhir lagi. Ada banyak halaman yang berisi lika-liku dalam menempuh perjalanan. Harapan-harapan baik yang patah, nyatanya tidak membuat diri ini mengangkat tangan lalu berkata menyerah.

Ada buku baru dengan halaman kosong di dalamnya yang harus ditulis dengan berbagai harapan baru lagi. Aku tak boleh kalah menghadapi ketidakpastian akan hari esok, karena pastilah ada hal indah di balik setiap hal yang menjegal langkah.

Sambil takut-takut, aku berusaha membuka halaman berikutnya. Bukan, bukan karena halaman yang sebelumnya adalah yang paling menyenangkan, justru karena disana banyak plot twistnya. Sampai yang kali ini, membuka lembar kosong untuk kurangkai sendiri saja aku ketakutan setengah mati.

Seperti dikejar-kejar waktu. Seperti sedang berlomba lari dengan masa depan.

start with the tumblr documentation and familiarize yourself with the post blocks. then, you can choose base codes. the most updated ones are by eggdesign which are:

omg ahh it for real is the most beautiful thing to me to find out that my little posts on here are meaningful to other people <33333 yes.... i dont post my poetry on here very much but i would like to be able to call myself a poet; i often do; i am unsure about it just as often, i am usually afraid to call myself a poet and i hesitate to do so or i do so and then i try to lick the word back into myself like a frog eating a fly in reverse yknow like im like omg wait but what if its not true... probably mostly bc i keep setting a goal for myself to submit my poems to journals and then i keep not dioing that i think im subconsciously scared of them saying no even though i claim to not care 😭(<-time magazine's most anxious-avoidant little lamb) But of all the modalities of interfacing with the world/existence/msyelf/everything/everywhere/the emptinessess and the seamstressess and the fillings and the misspellled words with extra double s's that are as beautiful as they are wrong/and so forth!!! i do know that i tend almost constantly towards a poetic mode, whatever on earth that means. As soon as you define poetry your definition fails its useless, i don tthink its really meant to be defined. Reading Random Language Grammar Books…

…in an effort to both diversify my knowledge of language and be a less boring conlanger. The languages chosen have no particular significance, and I'm making notes here as a way to hopefully remember a few features of each. I make absolutely no guarantees that my notes are accurate: these books often contain jargon I am not super familiar with and I continue not to be remotely qualified on the topic of linguistics. Corrections and complications are welcome. I am going to try and remember to include my sources. Anyway…

Uzbek

One sentence construction seems to be subject-object-verb ("U shifokor bo'ladi. - He will be a doctor."), but there also seems to be an alternate way to indicate subject, with a suffix at the end of the verb or object ("Yo'q, o'qimayapman - No, I am not reading it"). These also may both be present ("Men talabaman. - I am a student"). -man may just be a conjugation, and the subject can be dropped, but I also see it as the end of what look like nouns so I think it's more flexible than a conjugation.

"Uzbek is an agglutinative language. In this language words contain morphemes, or suffixes, that are always clearly differentiable from one another. In forming words or sentences, the morphemes are attached to the word stem one after another in a specific order. This process creates words that can be very long and can sometimes correspond to a whole sentence in English" (Nigora Azimova, p. xix). Example: "O'zbekistondanmísízlar - Are y'all from Uzbekistan?" (dan-from, mí-question, síz-you, lar-plural)

^^^ Thinking back, it seems like the creators of the Sith Language, ur-Kittât, were going for a similar way of word/sentence construction.

bor/yo'q ('to have'/'not to have') seem to be used similarly to 是/不是 are in mandarin where they are both verbs and as confirmation/negation. They seem to be multipurpose as verbs in general--bo'l seems to be an element of multiple different tenses/aspects/moods, kind of like "have" in english or "avoir" in French.

Momentary present is "is not used frequently in modern literary Uzbek, and is very rarely used in spoken Uzbek. This form occurs sometimes in the written language and in Ferghana dialects." I'm guessing this means it is more often found in older literary Uzbek? Storytelling tense that has gone out of fashion?

Actually this book makes a bunch of notes about tenses that are mostly written or mostly spoken. And there's a distinction between whether an event is witnessed by the speaker that seems like it has overlap with when you might use passive/active voice and or switch to vague pronouns in English. ("Yangi binolar qurilmoqda. - New buildings are being constructed" or They are constructing new buildings. versus "Men bir soat oldin tushlik qildim. - I had lunch one hour ago.").

mí is a suffix indicating a sentence is a question, but for more complicated questions there must be some other indicators, since mí is not present in " Qanday qilib yozuvchi bo'lgansiz? - How did you become a writer?" My guess is that gan = how-question, since it's in the same placement as i've seen mí. Correction from @tomirida: gan indicates the past tense, and qanday is the how.

it's about 70% vibesssss!!! but here is how i would do it:

sun sign (their birth month/date)

looking at myself and my ever growing horrifying harem, *i* gravitate toward people with either my same modality (mutable) or element (water), so happily for u my birthday neighbor, this means pisces, gemini, virgo, sagittarius, cancer, or scorpio. you really can choose any of the twelve, but i know i'd start with this half of the zodiac. for your sanity, you should just pick a date (a numerologically pleasing one, i think), in their sun sign season and stick to it for the rest of this process!!

what i'm about to recommend is horrendous but very educational. once you have picked a birth date, i am sending you here:

then you find their birth date, zoom in to to find this very skiny table row (this is my birthday), and click CHART in the last cell. this gives you a birth chart with no rising sign, which is still plenty!

i recommend checking all three years so you can shop for their moon sign!! in this year range, i can tell you right now that jupiter will range from aquarius-aries and saturn will range from aries-taurus. (idgaf about the outer three personally.) i get really anal about personal placements (mercury through mars), but the moon is a single, simpler thing to look out for.

rising sign (their birth time)

this is a bit/a lot more esoteric, but more vibes stuff. here is a bizarre questionnaire that probably relies on basic hellenic (roman/greek) mythology OR sailor moon:

do they seem more day or night

if they seem day-ish: do they seem more sun (leo), jupiter (sagittarius or pisces) or saturn (capricorn or aquarius)

if they seem night-ish: do they seem more moon (cancer), venus (taurus or libra) or mars (aries or scorpio)

if they seem neither, their vibe is mercury (gemini or virgo)

with this sign or these signs in mind, go to an entirely different website and enter the birth date and year you picked. for the location, go with Great Britain/Greenwich, ENG (the prime meridian). then you must simply fuck around with birth hours until the thing on the upper right shows the sign glyph you want. here's what it looks like when i draw my worst ever one piece man's chart:

two rules of thumb so you're not doing this 24 times are:

the rising sign moves approx. every 2 hours, so i start at midnight then go 2:00, 4:00, 6:00 and so forth

if you want them to have the same sun/rising sign, shoot for sunrise (like meee). if you want them to have a sign of the same modality (the one clear across the wheel, 6 signs ahead), aim for sunset. if you want something in between those, just try ur best
