does anyone remember when team salvato had that “for fans by fans” fanart merch contest, but like it had a backstory that monika “wasn’t allowed to participate” cause “she always wins and it would be unfair :(” but like all images of her and mentions of her name were glitched out, and in the background of the promo art there was a piece of paper with her poem “Hole in Wall” mostly erased (and not even in her font asset, just in the neutral/MC handwriting font) so all signs pointed to monika’s file being deleted

but then literally none of that was ever directly acknowledged in the posts or the merch for the contest, or in ddlc+ lore, or on other posts from team salvato’s twitter or monika’s twitter account? so, though it probably wasn’t intended to be lore to begin with, we never got any context for it, even within the constraints of the “backstory” for this specific contest?

Monika being normal when she doesn't have the power of gods is a large sense-make.

It is!! I think, a lot of the ddlc fandom has a problem where they've flanderised the characters down to their most extreme states and forgot what they actually are like. in the actual game. So there are people out there who write and characterise Monika as if she's always some yandere who's obsessed with the player character who has no morality and will kill anyone who gets in her way. yknow she's not even like that in the actual game either, people just saw that act 3 Monika was kind of yandere-tropey and forgot everything about her actual character and made her yandere girl 300. Monika could have done worse. sorry I'm being a Monika apologist I do have monikan in my blog name. Monika is literally just some dorky high-school girl who was given god powers and told her world wasn't real and that part of her character doesn't go away when she has the revelation, why would it not be present when she doesn't have god powers? I have lots to say about Monika. Thanks for the ask!

Making a Club; again

I'm just a new transfer for True Cross Academy, just a normal student in the background of this narrative. I seem to be sharing a class with the 'main character' of this media however, considering there was one classmate with features unlike the rest. Still, If this is where i'm going to exist now, I'd rather not get to tangled u up in a big plot; I've had enough of being the center of attention.

It's been just about a week since I've started going to this school, but today I'm breaking the routine with an armful of pamphlets as I walk through the school yards. Some folks have already been handed one, and I'm not standing idly either... which is likely made clear narratively as I approach the potential main character over there.

"Hey! You're in my class, right? I don't think I've caught your name... I'm Monika!" One hand extended to shake, the other holding the pile of papers to my chest. Perhaps what I'm doing is cliche, especially for me but... It's making this new lively school feel a bit more like home.
