Just started playing Ni No Kuni on switch,

And I’m sorry I will gladly punt (english voice) Mr Drippy as far as humanly possible. Bro keeps calling me “crybaby bunting” because I’ve spent 3 days mourning my mothers untimely death, that I may or may not have played a hand in, and he’s so needy.

We’ve just met and you want to stick around for my entire adventure? Imma feed you to the evil bird.

Love how you shamelessly hate Aang—I mean this totally as a compliment by the way! I’m so tired of seeing “I ship Zutara but I LOOOOVE Aang he’s a cinnamon roll baby!!!” and “you can like Zutara and also like Aang” and “it’s the WRITING that’s bad not Aang!” takes…ugh. Please. He’s a cartoon character and I don’t like him. That isn’t a crime. He’s boring at best and an entitled borderline abusive little shit at worst. I don’t like him! It’s so refreshing to read your blog, I don’t understand this fandom’s obsession with acting like he’s a real child we have to coddle

I don't understand it either. Then again, I will go to the mat to defend some pretty controversial characters, so who am I to judge (justice for Mr. Collins!) ? I don't mind that other people like him -some of my favorite people in the fandom like him- as long as they don't come after me for not liking him.

But yeah, the defense of him boiling down to "bad writing" always felt off. To me, bad writing is when the character suddenly takes actions that seem to come out of nowhere. Aang's actions in the back half of ATLA and into the comics and LoK track. They track very well with who he was even in the first season. Yes, he got worse as the series progressed, but the seeds were always there. I guess, if you want to make an argument for it being bad writing, you could talk about how his bad traits in the first half seemed to be setting up a growth arc that was abandoned in the second half. There's an argument to be made there, but it's not an argument that Aang's worst traits were OOC for him. I am not shocked at the kind of family Aang ended up having. I'm not shocked at how Kataang the couple turned out. I'm only shocked that Bryke managed to be that honest about Aang without realizing how awful he was.

Oliver (Ni No Kuni): After his mother dies of a heart attack, Oliver discovers that the doll she left him was actually a magical fairy, awakened by his tears. The doll, Mr. Drippy, tells him of a way to save his mother; if he journeys to another world, and saves her soulmate, a person sharing her soul, from the 'Dark Djinn' Shadar, she may just revive. So Oliver sets out on a magical adventure as 'the Pure Hearted One', the boy with the ability to mend broken hearts.

Why I like this dude: NNK in general is very precious to me. Oliver's magical journey is a great exploration of grief, denial, and escapism. A lot of it is Oliver having to be brave and learning how to cope. He's just a little guy, and he makes a lot of friends, and he helps others cope with their losses and they help him with his. It's very touching. Even after discovering that his mother can't be saved after all, his journey has been in vain, he continues anyway, because there's others he can still save. BUT by god you HAVE to control Oliver in battle otherwise his AI will instantly kill him by whacking enemies with a stick and getting punted for it.

Geo Stellar (Megaman Star Force): Ever since his father's disappearance, Geo has been a shut-in. Lethargic and with no friends, he only finds solace in the stars. On one such stargazing night, an alien by the name Omega-Xis, or Mega for short, drops into Geo's transceiver. Now with the ability to fuse with Mega to become Megaman, Geo can traverse the digital world, fight of bugs, and stop the aliens on Mega's trail for a mysterious object called the "Andromeda Key." Maybe with this power, he'll unravel the mystery of his father's disappearance into space...

Why I like this dude: Megaman Star Force is an exploration of depression made kid friendly. Geo is, without a doubt, depressed as all hell for most of the game. His classmates keep barging in on him to get him to go to school, but all he cares about is SPACE. But Mega needles him into going out, into interacting with others (and also life-threatening situations), and Geo is still withdrawn by the end of it, but he's a little braver, a little friendlier, and he wants to keep living. Like, explaining depression to 8 year olds. It's really touching to know this character exists?

But even that passage by Navani proves my point! In Dalinar’s Navani thirst paragraphs, he’s talking about how beautiful she is, how wonderful and magnificent. How could anyone not be attracted to her? But Navani’s Dalinar thirst paragraphs? Are about how much she loves his personality, loves who he is as a person. Which of course is sweet. Which of course is good for the basis of any serious relationship. But if i was dating someone long term? And they refused to say Luke you are very hot Luke I love your personality but i also love your body. Luke you being built the way you are is not a detriment to our relationship that I’m overlooking because you have such a good personality. But rather a draw, a thing i am very much attracted to. Well if they didn’t have all that i think I’d cut the relationship off. Maybe im too allosexual for this line of thinking to not be upsetting to me. But i dunno!!!!‼︎ even those who are attracted to Dalinar aren’t into him physically and that makes me deeply sad. Because I’ve been there! I’ve been there. And it fucking sucks. Yeah

Me and Octo learned how to mod strive and this is the first thing we do with it. She made those two, but I did make these little beasts. Maybe I'll make more but these take literal hours at a time so. Lol.

its so fucked up that in ni no kuni 2 they make you play as a catboy instead of letting you play as a grimalkin. they couldnt commit. its also just kind of weird bc , why is he king when all his subjects are grimalkin ?? .
