Yesterday we had our pauper event fire off with a whole TEN people I'm very happy, it's the most we've been yet :) Before, we were mostly 4-6 people. These days we're more around 6-10, which is awesome

I was playing Dimir infect as you can see! The list is in the alt text.

This deck is a lot of fun, and in many ways more consistent than mono green. However, here were my match ups, went 1-2 overall.

VS Bogles, 1-2. Was on the draw, lost the 1st one cause I couldn't go quick enough. Second one, I resolve a stinger, put a 5/1 sticker on it t3, opp doesn't find an answer, scoop. Miss played g3 : I wanted to get some life back and offensively used unexpected fangs on my dude. However I had forgotten about Ram Through and my creature was removed. I was not quick enough to rebuild and I lost this way. This was very winnable however!

VS Boros synth, 1-2. Here I know opp has a lot of removals : journey to nowhere post board, but also 4 bolts, 4 galvanic and 3 foundry helix (I was lending the deck so I know the decklist very well ahah). I tried my best to protect my things, however I made several slight mistakes. Similarly I was on the draw and won one game by being able to pass through my opp unhindered. Last game I had a moment of confusion and tried to protect an attacker from a krark clan shaman with Apostle's blessing. However! I had other creatures and blessing is actually a card I should use on offense! I would've been able to win if I had done it like that. Too bad but we'll, I'm learning!

VS Boros, 2-0. My sole win of the evening! Same principle as the last match BUT I had just learnt from my mistakes so I made better plays. Opp was also unprepared for infect and had a hard time adjusting to the threat. Game 2 I just kept a kind of greedy hand : no creatures, yes! But island and 2 ponders... And you know what they say, island ponder = keep! And I was able to stack my deck in such a way that I never missed a land drop, got a creature, AND godly protection. 3 Apostle's blessing and 2 dispels, as well as 2 command performance! I had everything to shrug off my opp's removal and attack without fear, which just got him.

I had a lot of fun even tho I lost the two first matches. Now what I've got to do is get more experience with it, notably with sideboarding. I have a kind of hard time figuring out how to sideboard here because I feel like I can keep my entire deck ahah, everything is relevant! I have a lot of leeway for improvement.

I haven't played Magic: The Gathering in years, but sometimes I still like to speculate about what sort of fuckery might have prompted this or that microscopic change to a card's oracle text. Like, "Rocket Launcher" went from "activate only if you controlled Rocket Launcher at the beginning of your turn" to "activate only if you've continuously controlled Rocket Launcher since the beginning of your turn", and I can't help but wonder whether this is just one of those editorial consistency things, or whether someone figured out how to break the game by repeatedly losing and re-gaining control of this one stupid card in the middle of their turn.

My game for the 1 page RPG jam is out. Replace your dice and your gm by decks from any tcg or ccg you want. You can even bring multiple different games at the table for all sort of crossover chaos.

So here comes Magic the Gathering meets Yu Gi Oh, meets Flesh and Blood meets Keyforge, meets Altered meets Duel Masters meets …. wow there are a lot of tcg out there and that's without counting the license-based ones…

I don't know if this is a hot take or not

Proxy cards in games like MTG shouldn't be seen as a problem and you shouldn't need a copy of the official card to use them

As long as the card has the right dimensions and thickness to fit into a deck of normal cards without standing out, there's literally no reason you can't just have that

Hell, in middle school, my friends and I would print out pictures of cards we wanted and slip them into a sleeve with a random land card or token and it worked FINE

The game play still works perfectly normal, the only possible effects are that you have more interesting looking cards and the game is less pay-to-win

The idea that you have to have the official card from WOTC itself at all is completely illogical

3-0 at the weekly with stickers infect!!!

2-1 vs altar tron. He played a version with wizard's rockets and candy trails. Just went fast enough while leaving protection for my creatures not to die. Folded game 2 to a makeshift munition I didn't see coming and then prepared game 3 with blue blasts which worked well enough, and won on a countered crop rotation.

2-1 kuldotha burn. Lost g1 and then remembered the tip someone gave me on discord : side out all infect creatures, side in blasts, sprites, and fangs. I sided out the Apostle's blessings too to achieve that. Was easy then with a 7/3 lifelink saiba + gates.

2-0 vs elves. I just went fast enough that he didn't kill me first. Sided in some fangs and vendetta g2, and it won me the match, since the 6hp I won back put me just out of his board's reach.

Compared to last time, I cut 2 supernatural stamina and 1 unearth and put 3 spell pierces. Figured I didn't use them a lot and Moar counters do moar work. Well it worked out nicely! My altar tron opponent spent the game playing around them, not knowing I also had dispels in. It cost him the last game eheh. I chose to let 1 unearth in because I didn't know if I wanted a 4 pierce and since stickers stay I the gy... I saw it multiple times but had no use for it since my opponents didn't have enough removal. There's also discussion to remove the vendettas but I don't know with what yet so I let them in.

Had a lot of fun with the deck eheh I love infect!!! It brings me joy to flip out PRIMAL ELDER KITTY.
