if you have strong mutable (gemini, sagittarius, pisces, virgo) placements then you NEED to write things down if you don't already. all those thoughts that constantly swirl in your head: the frequent tasks, goals, feelings, aspirations, opinions, etc - WRITE THEM DOWN. this is not only therapeutic & stress-relieving for you but almost necessary, or you're going to burn out and overload your own mind constantly.

when you bottle, or when you let plans, goals, dreams, to-do lists, projects, etc live solely in your head - you'll notice you can't sleep as well, it's harder to rest, your memory gets more foggy than usual, you feel burnt out and unable to connect, etc. specifically:

write down your feelings. this will be your ultimate (free) therapy. start to journal, write a diary. make a private twitter/tumblr where you spill your feelings, frustrations, thoughts. you will feel an immense sense of relief by writing or typing your feelings out - even if no one is reading it but you. mutable moons especially. our feelings tend to change rapidly, but it doesn't make them less valid. don't bottle out of the fear your feelings will change/you'll just "get over it"!! write it down and let it out!!

write! to-do! lists!!!!! these don't have to be for important things. you want to learn digital art? you want to study coding? you want to learn french? you want to re-decorate? you probably have a billion things you want to do, and then you get overwhelmed by the options, and do nothing. write down all the things you want to do. make a to-do list for these things. get them out of your head and somewhere permanent/physical. looking at the options in front of you will feel much easier.

make excel project trackers (you can even make these for to-do list items/goals/etc)! mutable placements have a tendency to start a lot of projects or tasks, and never finish any of them. make a simple tracker for all the projects you start. you won't forget what you're working on, and you'll be less overwhelmed trying to remember what you have going on (example of the one i always use pictured below)

talking out your thoughts and feelings is also very cathartic. make fake (or real, i support u!) youtube vlogs where you spill your feelings and talk about your plans, your day, what you have to do, etc. talk to someone you love and trust, vent to them about how things are; or about what you're getting up to. i find writing has an edge, because you can go back to it for reference (mutables tend to forget things easily) - but as long as you're getting the swirl of your mind somewhere outside of your head, you'll feel so, so much less stressed.

mutable dominants tend to constantly live in go-mode, we're restless and always doing something. we feel uncomfortable and sometimes guilty about staying still. our minds don't ever shut off. it's very important for mutable placements to learn how to rest, be present in the moment, and learn grounding. this can be done in many ways, but i've found personally that writing works best for me. other helpful practices can be: talk therapy, acceptance theory, yoga, meditation, hiking, camping, etc.

i also want to remind mutable signs: we change a lot. we have a lot of ideas. there's so much we want to do. we often feel like we have no path, no big goal; we can struggle with purpose as we don't often aspire for permanent things or "one big goal". this is NOT bad. there is nothing wrong with changing your feelings, your mind, your goals, your life path. you CAN do all the things you want to do! you have your entire life ahead of you! yes, you can learn all those languages. yes, you can have three different careers in your life. yes yes yes! don't listen to negativity from others. don't beat yourself up for not having one big goal like some people around you might. cherish and embrace all the things you want to achieve and complete (both big and small). learn to follow-through with and finish the things that matter to you (writing things down will really help with this, make action plans/steps - break everything down into smaller pieces). take the time to slow down and enjoy the moments as they come. you got this!

#1 Fixed Mercury signs (Taurus, Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo) can tend to have a difficult time adapting to mindset changes or a significant amount of new ideas at once. Once they have processed them though, they are incredibly well versed in the subject very easily.

all mutable signs (gemini, virgo, sagittarius, pisces) all have this open outlook with relationships. they tend to be open to different ways of loving someone. as well as not getting too attached in love is very much a mutable trait. this energy tends to fall easily but also tend to fall out of fall easily as well. the falling out of love often comes in the most trivial way. for gemini it might be a lack of mental stimulation, virgo could be issues involving the habits of a person, for sagittarius it might be philosophy that differs and pisces might be a lack of oneness with the other person. I think what all have in common would be a feeling of constraint in the relationship which could turn off the mutable sign person from the relationship. overall love matters are important but they are met in a somewhat detached and open manner.

Other Glyphs - Symbols

Welcome to one of the last installments Other Glyphs - Symbols.

These are other symbols that you will need to be aware of when looking through astrology, and I have quite a few of them spread throughout this site already. So I will walk you through one by one, and explain what they mean, and why they appear that way.

The Elements

Fire

The symbol of fire. Funnily enough this is also the symbol for legitimate fires too. The reason why the symbol for fire is an upwards pointing triangle, helps to show the elements desire for growth, to climb, and to be bold. It shows the fire signs spirit, and need to go big or go home.

Water

An upside down triangle. Water has the quality to want to stay grounded. Rain falls from the sky, the ocean delves to the deepest depths of the world. Water follows that mentality. It's true desire is to float below it all, and the upside down triangle helps to communicate that.

Air

A triangle with a line through its peak. Like fire, there is a desire to want to grow, and ascend- but the line through it communicates that it is too much like water to do so. It keeps the air signs on the ground, and communicates their focus for communication, and desire for social contact.

Earth

An upside down triangle with a line through its peak. This shows Earth desire to be rooted, and connected to the ground- to people, however the line through it represent that it has too much of a fire aspect to fully commit. They want better things for themselves that stops their full descent.

The Modalities

In all my years of research. I have not found one single source that actually explains these glyphs. Not one. Not in any of the books i've read, not on any website- nothing. Nada.

So what you are about to read is my full personal interpretation based on what I do know.

Cardinal

As you can see it's an open triangle facing up with a dot in where the center line would be. This is similar to the element of fire which works with this modality. Fire is the symbol of drive, and passion. Cardinal signs are the start of each season, and they drive the beginning of those seasons forward. They are the trendsetters, the starters, the ambition. I suppose the dot in the center represents the spirit within the sign. Showing that the spirit is moving up and out, showing the desire and passion that these signs tend to carry.

Fixed

A full square with a line through the center. Fixed signs are some of the most stable and reliable of the zodiac. They don't change their opinions easily. So to have the spirit fully contained as a line, shows their unwillingness for change. The shape is closed, showing their resistance to changing their minds once they're set. Fixed signs are strong in their beliefs and motives, and I think the square here communicates that idea well.

Mutable

Finally, we have our mutable signs. The ending of the seasons. These signs are open to change, and have more of a go with the flow mentality. So to have a half-sphere with the circle of spirit below it helps to communicate their willingness for change. However, one of the key components of these signs in particular is that they are more prone to nervous energy, and can even fear that change if in an unhealthy mindset. So to show the circle of spirit as restricted- not fully closed off- helps to communicate that idea that in the end, while they may need to be ready for change, they might not be fully accepting of it.

Other Planets and Placements

There are other planets and placements that I decided not to get fully into in some of my mainstream lesson, as they aren't tracked widely, and they rarely change from person to person, however.

I know some people are curious about them, and dependent on different aspects it can help to shape a person's personality, so I will outline those symbols here and write about them all another time, when main series start finishing up so to speak. For now I'm going to focus on the main ones, and further expand if someone were to request it.

Asteroids, Comets, & Dwarf Planets

Chiron

With Chiron, you have a broken cross of matter, and an arrow of ambition of the circle of vitality. Chiron as a planetary object (comet), when placed with the right sun or moon combination (conjunct), can indicate someone who is a healer. With the arrow of ambition being pointed at the broken cross, it can show that their ambitions are above the materials of the world, and that they strive for helping others through their own need, and not because of what it could bring them financially. They want to help, and that's that.

Ceres

Ceres shows us a scythe, with a crescent and the cross of matter through it. This dwarf planet takes on the aspect of a feminine healer, versus Chiron. It's associated with childbearing and fertility. So not only are you reaping your fruits, but you are bringing life into the material plane, and helping to fully realize it.

Pallas (Athena)

Pallas takes on the shape of the spear, which is in direct agreement with its namesake, Athena the Goddess of Wisdom and War. It can be described as a circle of vitality over the cross of matter (like Venus), however- this is done with the arrows that are present in Mars (signifying aggressive nature). Like both of those planetary aspects, someone with a prominent Pallas may be more argumentative, have social awareness, and be gifted in the arts. based on where strong aspects are to Pallas it might show where you spark the most enjoyment in learning and craft.

Vesta

Vesta's symbol depicts her alter. Vesta in mythos was the goddess of the hearth. She like Virgo is virginal and the sign itself looks into transcendence of the self past sex. When looking at the glyph itself one of the things that I see is the arrow of ambition that is noted in the sign Scorpio, along with the curves of the flame that are representative of not only the moon but in the glyph of Virgo. This can indicate desires of the mind above the desires of the flesh.

Juno

Juno is an asteroid that dictates marriage, and that's in large part to her mythos. The symbol itself resembles a scepter, breaking it down it almost looks like the circle of vitality made out of arrows over the cross of matter. This can indicate a need for looking with and bringing that to the material plane.

Lilith

There are different types of Lilith in astrology. Yet, they all carry the same symbol, and have similar messages. Lilith looks at the darker part of our desires, deep secrets that we don't recognize ourselves. You can see the crescent and cross in the symbol speaking to the internal desires that we wish to make material.

Important Points

North and South Node

The north and south node are mirror opposites of each other. The North Node recognizes what a person is destined for, what they will eventually grow into. Whereas the Southern Node dictates what that person needs to let go of. Looking at their symbols, the north node is a crescent faced up, and connected by two circles. This can symbolizers how the person will eventually grow into themselves. Whereas the opposite is true of the Southern node, showing how we can be weighed down by the mental aspects of life, and the need to let go.

Midheaven, Imum Coeli, and Descendant

These three are the other constants in someone's chart. The ascendant is how you are viewed from the get go- how you handle problems. The Midheaven (or Medium Coli) is the career path you may feel most comfortable taking on. The Imum Coeli relates to familial situations in growing up. Finally, the Descendant (versus the ascendant or rising), this is what you seek out in other people.

That's a wrap on the symbols for now. There's many different symbols associated with astrology, and they can be interpreted in many different ways. So when you look at these glyphs take it with a grain of salt, and take what resonates.

Fixed signs are Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius. They’re called the “Cherubim” = Matthew Mark Luke John. These signs are fixed because, they’re in the middle of each quadrant of the zodiac(the height of each season). They’re steady and stable. They fix things in place, and are able to engage in sustained activity over a long period.

Mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Pisces, and Sagittarius. They are called mutable because they are the “chameleons” of each element, able to shift into many forms, and take on different personas. For example Virgin Mary(Virgo) is also Isis, Semaramis of Babylon, Diana of ancient Greece; Pollux and Castor(Gemini) is also Romulus and Remus, Cain n Abel, etc. Mutable is change.

Each sign of the zodiac is also associated with a specific Cell Salt that corresponds to it. For example Aries is potassium phosphate, Taurus is Sodium sulphate, Scorpio is calcium sulphate, etc. There are 12 basic biochemistry Cell Salts. As these are the things everything is made of, all that can be wrong with one psychologically or physically comes from a deficiency in one or more (as above so below as on the iner so on the outer). So, Adam Kadmon(macrocosmic man) is of the 12 signs/salts; moreover, us the microcosm is merely a smaller version of that.

Compensating For Elemental Deficiencies in Chart

I'll start with a to the point answer, and then go deeper into what I think of the subject.

Literally, compensate with giving yourself the missing element from nature. You're water deficient? Drink a lot, listen to music, take baths, live by the ocean/lake/river. Dance in the rain. You're fire deficient? Use candles, eat spicy food, be physically active, expose yourself to sunlight. You're air deficient? Use incense, nice smells, perfume, socialize, go out on windy days, move to a windy climate. You're earth deficient? Walk barefoot, ground yourself, do gardening, get a live plant or a pet.

Now to dive deeper. I hate this modern cliché false idea that we should always be "self sufficient" and only give to ourselves. It's ok to hang out with friends or even have a partner that completes you on the element or sign or modality that you're lacking! In fact, that is exactly how the whole attraction, yin and yang principle works. We pick people who give us something new, something we can grow from, and that is what makes us complete, and that's ok. The universe is creative and even if a certain friendship or relationship falls away, you will just get another person that illuminates these different parts of you. We in fact tend to get bored or pissed off with people that are too much like ourselves, it causes a "sibling rivalry" effect lol
