Welcome Home, Cheaters #196.

Well, well, well. Well. Well, well. Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well. Well. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell. Well well. Well well well well well. Well, well. 

Wait. Where are our manners? What we mean to say, of course, is well-come! A warmest, heartiest greetin' to you. We heard rumors of a bit of a kerfuffle, a bit of squibblin'-squabblin', a bit of bother down at The Old Mill. And by The Old Mill, of course, we mean those good folks over at #reddit, a nearby settlement, who seem to be havin' a bit of trouble with somethin' this that or other. Now, we's the types to mind our own business—other people's bother ain't nothin' to do with us—but we couldn't help noticin' an influx of weary, but cheery, travelers over at #196. It seems you folks in need of a place to stay. Well, we folks are awful gracious, awful magnanimous, if you whill, so I guess we've just gots one thing to say to all you new faces...

Daminette December 2023: 21-Something Good Coming

Jon and Damian sat at their usual seat in the cafeteria. Jon was looking at his phone and laughing.

"What?" demanded Damian.

"Something good is coming your way." Jon stated with a smile.

"Is it my brothers in their own home?" the Wayne heir asked.

"Nope." Jon said, broadening his smiled, "Love."

Marinette was looking for a place to sit in her new school. She had hard she could take her food outside and was heading towards the exit, when she heard two boys talking about love.

"Love is a waste of time, money, and there is only so many times you can look at someone, before you want to punch them." She interrupted.

Jon looked at her in shock.

"Please, sit." Damian offered.

Marinette scrunched up her nose and started turning back towards the exit door.

"I agree!" Damian exclaimed, "I have never met anyone who shares my opinion."

Marinette turned back and looked towards his friend. He immediately scooted over and smiled.

"Who broke your heart?" Jon asked.

"I know I left two broken hearts in Paris." Marinette declared.

"Why?" Jon questioned.

"They couldn't understand that I want bigger things than to be a stay at home mom." Mari grumbled, "They both seemed nice at first, but they also wanted to do their own things and have me take care of kids. Don't get me wrong; I love kids, but I don't want them any time soon."

"What do you want then?" Damian inquired.

"I'm a fashion designer." She answered, "I already have several clients."

Damian nodded, "My family is in business so I am knowledgeable on how distant and hard it is for family to be together during certain events. Something always comes up."

"My family are reporters." Jon declared.

"So, if I say I can't ell you anything?" Marinette prodded.

"We would not press." Damian stated.

"Finally, someone who understands!" Marinette smiled, excited.

Jon laughed, "Damian's family is full of 'shut up and look the other way'."

Marinette giggled, "I come from a family of bakers. I love them, but they are expressive and pressing."

"How pressing?" Damian asked.

"I brought a boy home, at fourteen, to do homework. We had a paired project. Papa invited him for breakfast the next day. There was heart shaped everything and he asked how he felt about kids."

Jon started laughing. Damian just stared at her in shock.

"I don't think I ever talked to that kid, again." Mari said, shaking her head at the memory.

"I think our families would get along, perfectly." Jon smiled.

Marinette just rolled her eyes and started eating her food.

At the end of the day, Damian sat in his car, thinking of Marinette. Something good had come his way; a new friend.

'Jon's weird app had predicted someone new. Although, it mentioned love. We did meet because we spoke about love and how frivolous it is. Perhaps, that is what it meant.'

Neither, he nor Marinette, knew what lay ahead.

OMG tumblr I am OVERWHELMED with the kindness and all the great accounts I have had the joy to visit today. I got so many suggestions and I have tried going through as many as I can but damn!! There are so many talented, hardworking creators out there and it brings me such inspiration! I will do my best to continue liking and following all the people suggested to me <3

I have not actually posted this glam because I had a low confidence moment there for a second and I had a fight with all the shaders that I normally love. I actually do love how the weapon looks here so maybe I will post it anyway.

How to stop oversharing?

Slow down: Always pause and think before you speak

Consider anything you share with someone who hasn't earned your complete trust or whom you have a transactional relationship with to be a PSA; Don't trust anything to be confidential with someone you don't fully trust

Reflect on why you overshare in the first place: Do you use it as a tool to soothe social anxiety or pauses in a conversation? Are you lonely or feel like it's a struggle to feel heard/seen/appreciated in your everyday life? Start journaling and/or go to a therapist to work through these very valid emotional wounds

Give yourself a "do's" and "don'ts" list on topics you will and won't discuss at work, different social events, with certain acquaintances, family members, etc., and stick to it

When you feel yourself starting to overshare, take a pause and ask the other person about themselves – it makes you show the other person you're interested in connecting and gives you time to think/reflect on what you should or shouldn't say

This is a little Drabble. And sort of a reintroduction of me getting back into writing.. if this breaks canon or any timeline idc. Lmao I’m writing a story because I want to!

Tech was thankful his grappling hook didn’t snap.. but hitting the side of a rocky cliff edge wasn’t part of the plan. He had lost his helmet and goggles during the fall. When he finally came to there was a face looking down at him.

“Hello there.”

He was slightly startled and tried to reach for his blaster but he couldn’t really see anything

“Hey hey! It’s ok. I’m not gonna hurt you. You can’t see too well because there’s blood on your face..”

He still couldn’t say anything.. he couldn’t tell whether he was in shock or in too much pain. As this moment his genius brain seemed to fail him..

“Come on. I’ll help you..”

Whoever the person was, they lifted him up and placed his arm across their shoulders and carried him to their ship.

Once inside his face was cleaned, his wounds bandaged and his eyes blurry. He went to adjust his goggles.. but they weren’t there. He had forgotten they were lost during his fall

The person finally took of their snow coat and goggles.. it was a young lady with an odd emblem on her flight suit.. she told him her name.

“It’s nice to meet you..”

He finally spoke, still a little frazzled.

“It looks like you took a nasty fall there.. what’s your name?”

“My name is Tech.. I did fall.. out of a cart. My brothers and my sister were on it.”

“You were the ones in those carts. I saw the others run away towards a cliff side.”

“They were probably heading back to our ship” he tried to stand but failed.. “I need to get back to them. I don’t particularly trust any of them with driving it without my supervision. Well.. maybe Echo..”

She watched him talk and ramble on.. almost as if she wasn’t there. Like he was having a conversation with himself.

“Well.. they have probably already gone. I can take you back to my base. It’s small.. and there’s not much to it but it’ll be ok until you get better.”

Tech sighed.. he really didn’t have much a choice but to trust this person. He couldn’t walk or do anything for himself at the moment.

“Don’t worry.. I’m part of the Rebel Alliance.”

“Rebel Alliance?”

“Yeah.. we are trying to stop the empire! One small victory at a time.. sometimes anyways.”

He raised a brow at her confidence and bravery. She seems to think it could be easy to take the empire down. But he shook it off.

Some time later they had finally reached this mystery planet.

“This is Yavin 4. We’ve only got a small group of rebels and a few senators willing to support us but we will grow.. it’ll just take time.”

She helped Tech walk out of the ship and into the base.. he was placed on a small medical gurney.. not inside a medical room or even a medical bay.

“You act like you can’t see anything.. didn’t blood get in your eyes?”

“No. They did not. I am partially blind to put it simply. The goggles I had were lost during the fall.”

“Oh.. well that’s a bummer. Uh.. well we have other goggles here-“

“That’s all I need. I can simply recreate mine if you have to correct electronic parts”

She was a little taken back as he cut off her but she nodded.

“Yeah yeah. Just take what you need.”

Tech stopped himself before he started to ramble on..

“Thank you, I deeply appreciate you saving my life.”

“You’re welcome Tech..”
