Clark, the adopted son of Martha and Jonathan Kent, is blessed with supernatural powers. He hides his powers from everyone and makes it his duty to protect teenagers from evil forces.

I have become a little tired of the same old formulaic and preachy rubbish that Hollywood and TV companies are churning out ('somebody saaave me from this' I thought). So I decided to go back in time...and decided to check out 'Smallville'. I had seen an odd episode here and there. I can confirm that the show has aged very well. It is a classic! It's great, with fun preaching-free stories where Clark Kent saves the day. I really recommend it if you haven't seen it.

ok so, while in Astaira, his titles strictly pertaining to his status in that nation are the ones you're familiar with:

His Imperial Highness, The Prince Imperial Archduke of [Varmont], Arthur, Prince of the House of Varmont, [insert local title]

but there're lotsa other nations, and as we know, arthur should have a title in most of them (if not all!) so!!

PRINCE OF THE SILVER MOUNTAINS, antilla – HOUSE OF RODERICK’S STEPMAMA, im sort of picturing a spain/portugal mashup || taken from sierra de la plata, a legendary mountain hold brimming with treasure

ARCHON OF MEROPIS, kolchis -- HOME OF HOUSE CALAINON, think medieval byzantine/green || taken from greek mythology, but this one's lowkey a parady of atlantis, still since this still would've been one of the titles he wouldn't been awarded at birth, some rando island makes sense for that etc

LORD OF VANARHEIM, kvenheim -- i was sort of envisioning norse scandinavia || from vanaheimr, an otherworld belonging to one of the two types of rival norse gods (edmund probs got asgard amirite ;D)

LORD OF ILNARRIA, vinetta – think lithuania, latvia, poland, germany, etc ||

PRINCE OF KARSHVAR, malakarta – the sun-soaked deserts of the middle east || a legendary zoroastrian continent

DUKE OF DUANUN, aarnu – think egypt: a fertile river running through vast deserts || a mix of duat and nun, the land of the dead and the primordial waters respectively

PRINCE OF VANTA, argadara – a whole country of vast mountains in the fantasy!himalayas || a legendary land of trees called himavanta

COUNT OF KUNSANG, xangadu – the most hospitable part of china basically – their governing body was called a blogring ;D jk jk no but fr s/o to xanga rip || mixture of kunlun, a legendary mountain range, and fusang, a mysterious land to the east of china

LORD OF TOIONGA, aotepo – sort of pictured a chain of tropical islands! which is also interesting bc i feel like roderick’s navy is kinda. ehhh so they def got a work out w this one! def think this was one of the more recent conquests too! || a maori spirit world for those who dream of starlight known as the summit of the heavens or sky world: toi o nga rangi

BOYAR OF VYRAI, alytar – HOME OF HOUSE VASILIEVA, think medieval russia || the mythical place where birds fly and where souls go after death in slavic mythology, vyraj

MARQUESS OF CELLIWIC, affaraon – tis scotland ;D and, as such, i was thinking this was possibly a neighbor to astaira? || from celliwig/kelliwic/gelliwic, the first named location of king arthur and translates to 'forest grove' <3

The faint resonance of the Eluvian's magic still buzzed in the Fade around them as Emmrich descended from his perch to greet his guest. His gaze flicked briefly to Dorian’s hands, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "Ah, wonderful. Ten fingers, all fully accounted for. I’d hate for our reunion to begin with a practical application of mimetic reconstructive anatomy." As he came to stand before Dorian, Emmrich's steps slowed, and there was a brief pause as he surveyed him properly for the first time.

Dorian was impeccably dressed, his sharp features framed with a distinction that spoke of Tevinter refinement. Time, it seemed, had favored him. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Emmrich considered the idiom that some people aged like fine wine—an impertinent consideration on his part, one he decided would be better kept purely in thought.

Realizing he’d lingered too long in his observation, he cleared his throat, snapping himself back to the moment. “Ahem—and of course, I couldn’t possibly pass up the opportunity to delve into this grimoire you mentioned.” He steepled his fingers, his brow raised in genuine intrigue “Where did you say you discovered it?”

The past. It could lift you, it could haunt you, it could claw you to someone you never wanted to be. While most days, Dorian thought that he did a good job in blending all of it together, some nights, he just lay awake and saw the moments flash. Trauma, big or little, never left your side. It was a creature well kept. A serpent twisted around your being. It provided comfort but also a need to breath. Like being underwater for too long.

Many people close to him, from his past had abandonned him a way or another : his father - dead though they had made peace , his mother - not speaking to him , his mentor Magister Alexius - dead , Felix Alexius - the blight finally took him after a long suffering Dorian helplessly witnessed. Those were the founding blocks of his sorrow , the burden he carried without complaining. The motivation to change things for future generation, so the suffering would be ...less.

Not many had been kind - before the Inquisition - one name always stood out : Professor Emmrich Volkarin. He had not been under his tutelage long, but the kindness had stayed with him. They corresponded over the years. Not finding any sleep that night, he decided to write to him. Why ? Flee a few hours to someone who would not reject nor seek his company out of interest.

As the date came, Dorian made it to the lair of the Shadow Dragons to the back, to the Eluvian. It reminded him of the first time he went through one, 10 years ago. As he arrived at the Lighthouse, the first thing he noticed was how quiet it was. Yet he could feel Solas' presence still. He wondered just how many lonely nights the dread wolf spent there, and could not help but feel empathic.

Of course his presence peaked interest. Especially Harding, who showed him to Emmrich's quarters in exchange for a cup of tea later. He made it to the door, and stood there for a moment. He hesitated. What was he doing here...bothering this team who had just as much on their plate. He took a deep breath and entered. And just like that, the mask slipped back on. Witty charming Dorian.

"Emmrich. " he smiled looking up. " Yes and - " he wiggled his fingers. " I still have all my fingers" he joked. "I was pleased you accepted my request. "

Two Left Feet

"Tommy, are you drunk?" you giggled, pressing your nose into your boyfriend's freckled face with a slight hiccup.

"No, but I think you may be, love," he teased.

"Not enough to tell you don't know what you're doing," you scolded, dropping your gaze to his uncoordinated feet.

Tommy only shrugged in reply.

"Hasn't anyone ever taught you?" you asked incredulously.

Now that he had been pressed for an answer, heat radiated off Tommy's bright red cheeks, a combination of embarrassment and cheap whiskey mingling beneath his skin. "Erm, no," he confessed with a shake of his head, fringe falling over his deep blue eyes.

You retreated from his embrace suddenly, taking him by surprise. Then you stole his glass, placing it upon a nearby shelf.

"I wasn't done!" he protested with furrowed brow.

"Now you are. You need to pay attention to me," you informed him as you returned to his waiting arms.

"Oh, I will," he promised with a wide grin.

Slapping him on the shoulder you corrected, "To my feet!"

"Didn't know you enjoyed that sort of thing," he mumbled.

"Tommy, please concentrate," you begged, urging him to hold his frame properly. "Now move on my count. Right foot first, 1-2-3-4," you chimed like the old clock in the hall.

Tommy stared at his feet as he moved, trying to do exactly as you said, but he managed to step directly on your big toe with a stomp.

"Ouch!" you squealed, recoiling in pain. "Right foot, Tom! Not left," you winced.

"It seems I've only got two left feet, sweetheart," he chuckled heartily.

You winced at his silly joke, but soon found yourself laughing along with him as he twirled you into oblivion, making you forget all about your throbbing foot.

When his lack of rhythm inevitably landed you on the sofa in a tangled heap, he cupped your face and offered an apology. "You're right, I'm no good at dancing." You nodded in agreement as he raised an eyebrow in your direction, "Would you like to see some of my other talents though?"
