The Metal Slug picture is definitely my favourite! It has everything I want to show off from bright colours to chaos, and even has scanlinese too which make almost any picture 10x better!

I have to give a special shoutout to some of my ArtFight pieces though! I really was able to practice the style I want to use for my game more and some other styles too!

My art has kind of gone in stages:

Learned how to draw

Learned how to scan drawings in to colour

Learned how to use a drawing tablet

Joined fandoms to draw more

And now I'm at a stage where I just want to create me own things and draw & write for them all the time. It's been a fun journey, despite the.... many, many, many, many, MANY detours, issues and general torment of wanting to create things.

My Bomb gijinka redesign!

Small data about him:

- He's a deer hybrid!

- He has self-healing properties (just like Knife) but unlike his, Bomb's pretty much work on his skin as well. Whenever they explode, they get new scars, but the skin itself gets back with time.

- He used to have trinkets on his antlers from OJ and Taco. They threw those away after the accusations of betrayal (OJ) and Taco running away.

- They knew Taco before the game started, they were friends, but not close friends the way Pickle and Taco were. He wasn't as "attached" to her the way Pickle was, but he was pretty disappointed once she revealed her true colors. But not surprised. Perhaps he knows something nobody else knows.

- In my headcanons, Bomb and OJ pretty much talked properly about what happened on s1, and Bomb spoke his mind about how hurt he was regarding OJ's behaviour towards him, since Bomb genuinely did consider OJ a friend. OJ feels bad about it, but they're on neutral terms as of now. Regarding Paper on these terms, Bomb and him are friends.

- They're bisexual (fem pref), nonbinary (he/they), and polyamorous.

- The light brown hair strand works as the bomb string he has!

- His general color palette changes to red-orange-yellow when he's going to blow up.

- He has his own garden, courtesy of OJ (as a way to try to make up for what he did, not that Bomb minds), and usually gifts flowers/potted plants to others, and sells them to the people on the city as well. They're very passionate about it, and is considering to start growing food-based plants.

- His bandana is from Soap and the necklace is from Pepper!

- Pretty much gets along with everyone at the hotel.

Kinkajou’s Trauma

Kinkajou felt herself tossing and turning in her sleep. Another restless night. She was panting and shaking. 

“Please. Let me go!” she cried out. She tried to press herself against the wall, to make herself small. 

One of the Nightwings rolled their eyes. “Why did they take the gag off of her? Just because her venom’s not strong doesn’t mean I wanna hear her talk.”

The other Nightwing slashed his tail and laughed. “Don’t worry, Dawnsight. We won’t have to be the ones who deal with her annoying screams. We’ve got a new little dragonet who’s going to be helping us with our experiments.”

“Oh? And who might that be?”

Kinkajou was shaking like a leaf, blood dripping into her eyes, tinting everything red. 

The one who walked in..

No.. 

No!

“Moonwatcher!”

Kinkajou jolted out of her hammock and felt to the floor with a thud. 

“Just a nightmare..” she whispered to herself. 

Moonwatcher, from her bed, jumped at the noise. 

“Huh, Kinkajou? Wuz goin’ on?” she exclaimed. She rubbed her eyes and looked at Kinkajou. 

“Kinkajou? Hey, what the matter? You’re trembling like a scared sloth.”

“Oh, ya.. had a.. um..” she attempted to stand up, stretching out the wing that she landed on when she fell. “I’m fine. Really.. don’t worry..”

Moonwatcher gave her that look. That look that said ‘I don’t need mind reading to tell that something is wrong.’

Kinkajou sighed and fidgeted with her pouch of skyfire. This wasn’t the first night this has happened. 

“Ok..” she said with a sigh and climbed back into her hammock. “Look, these past few nights have been… hard. Now that we’re at peace officially, since Darkstalker was defeated and all, I actually have a chance for restful nights. Yet.. my nightmares.. they..”

Moon saw the way she began to shake again. She extended a talon to her and Kinkajou took it gratefully, squeezing it tightly. 

“I have dream of everyone I know, dying around me..” she looked over at Carnelian’s old sleeping spot. She tightly closed her eyes, remembering watching her Rainwing brethren being tortured and slowly dying, and a deep sense of sadness washed through her, her scales painting to shades of stormy gray and full blue.

“And.. you..”

Moon seemed surprised. “Me?”

“The Nightwings.. they.. the things they did..” Her free talon went up to the side of her neck and traced over one of her many scars. “Moon, I know you were never part of that, but when I see you..”

Moon’s face flashed to that one awful Nightwing. Big and burly, who would look at Kinkajou through the other side of glass with contempt. Morrowseer 

She shook her head to clear away the image. Moon wasn’t Morrowseer. She just.. looked a bit like him. But that’s just her brain playing tricks on her. 

Moon looked at her with big, green, thoughtful eyes, listening to her every word. 

Kinkajou took a deep breath. “I know I should be over it now. I know I’m safe now and that you never.. yknow. You were never part of all that! I shouldn’t be scared of you! You did nothing wrong!”

Moon’s brow furrowed and her wings reached out to brush against Kinkajou’s. “No. Kinkajou, it’s ok to acknowledge and share these thoughts. That trauma..” she looked away for a moment. “It doesn’t just go away overnight. Sometimes you need to think on them, sit with them, accept them.” She tightly closed her eyes. “I’ve learned that the hard way.”

“Moons what happened with Darkstalker wasn’t your..”

Moon raised a talon to silence her. “No. This isn’t about me, Kinkajou. I understand if my presence may still be unnerving for you. We’ve been through a lot together, but it doesn’t change the fact that I still have a similar face to those horrible dragons who hurt you.. I just.. I just hope..” she rested her head on Kinkajou’s hammock as she sat on the floor below it, “that after everything we’ve been through you know you can trust me..”

Kinkajou’s eyes softened and she twined her tail with Moonwatcher’s. “Of course I do..”

The two exchanged soft looks and smiled. Kinkajou closed her eyes and, with Moonwatcher near her, fell asleep for, perhaps, finally, a peaceful night of sleep.

Wasp's ""death"" in TFOH is honestly my least favourite thing about it. Like,, cards on the table here, I don't like TFOH. I think it's truly the golden example as to why you need to plot out your multi-book arcs, as by the end she was more or less just kind of writing whatever first came to mind.

But...what happened to Wasp feels like it symbolizes how much the original story of the arc has been abandoned. Wasp, this great grand evil that we've feared for most of the arc, has been shafted and pushed to the side for two random new characters that were introduced in the second half of the final book. We never get a confrontation with her. The closest anybody gets to Wasp is Cricket in THQ where she watches her stab the eggs. Wasp has been relegated to...virtually nothing. Her role has been haphazardly replaced with a plant that's being controlled by a fetus and the world's most boring villain ever.

Wasp could've been great, and that annoys me the most. Wasp could've been this intimidating and terrifying villain. She's everything Darkstalker wanted to. The entire continent is practically under her control. Every HiveWing acts as her ears and eyes to keep everything going her way. An arc that focuses on her and her along ad a villain I would've loved.

But, no. She's casted to the side as soon as the Othermind is introduced. She's nothing anymore. Any fear she once had is stripped the moment it's revealed she's little more than a puppet. It doesn't make me fear Cottonmouth more. It makes me wish that Wasp was the true villain instead.

That's not even touching on how it was treated. Rather than being taken down by a character with some kind of connection to her, we watch as Luna observes a fight between Pineapple and Wasp. Pineapple, the random RainWing just introduced. A character who only has a connection to Jambu. He takes her down in a fashion that's just literally a copy of Scarlet's death. It's both figuratively and literally spitting in the face of a character with so much potential.

The funniest part too? She somehow isn't dead. She's tossed into one of the flamesilk factories along with her sisters. She's scarred just like Scarlet. Why is she alive. Why. Not even Tui knows why she kept her alive.

TFOH is such a bad book that it genuinely baffles me how terribly Tui stuck the landing. Remember kids: it's okay to not outline and whatnot for shorter and one-off books, but please for the love of Clearsight at least have an idea as to what your story will be like when you're making an arc that spans over five books.

Weapon Masters

My submission I made for the @darkstalkersfanzine that just released officially via digital means, 27/11/2023! The first ever zine I ever participated in and while I was nervous about having to meet a deadline considering my still shaky ability to focus on art, I managed to get this piece done in time! Not only that, but I also made an absolute banger of a masterpiece of my favorite characters in both Darkstalkers and all of media! Since it's my most recent art of the two, it means I get to update Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling with a few new details I have both gotten from commissions and my own thoughts. Very elated with how incredible they look. Not only that, further working on my style of rendering and trying new things out as well! As the title suggests, these two are masters of weapons! In Cryas Darkstalkers, Mei-Ling is actually the most seasoned between the two as she has a genuine love and appreciation for different forms of weaponry. She taught Hsien-Ko all she knows and even crafted all her weapons for her little sister! For the weapons both are currently wielding, Hsien-Ko is wielding a zǐwǔ (子午) while Mei-Ling is with the liúxīngchuí (流星錘). Stances where they are both graceful and strong. Very proud of this and happy to finally share some new art after a drought for a while! 8:21 p.m. at Crimsonettê Dining Restaurant........

Dedede: (Burst Out Laughing Wearing a Snazzy Blue Tuxedo, Sitting on One Side of the Table) Oho man! (Wipes a Tear From his Eye) Ain't no way that happened.

Morrigan: (Giggles Softly Wearing a Glamorous Black Green Dress with the Back of her Hair Tied Up in a Bun, Sitting on the Other Side) It's the honest truth! One strong kick to the sacred jewels and his eyes started to pop out of it's own. A harsh, painful treatment for sure, that's the price he pays for trying to mess with my sister and the other women behind my back.

Dedede: (Nodded in Agreement) Yeah, Karma's a mean one, I'll tell ya what. (Smiles Softly) Good on your sister for looking out for you and the ladies.

Morrigan: (Happily Clasps her Hands Together) Yes!~ She has grown up into a divine young lady these days. I can never be more proud to be her doting big sister~ (Turns Back to her Date) Do you have siblings of your own, my dear?

Dedede: Nah. I'm an only child. The closest things i have to ones are the folks back home at the mansion nd my boi, Escargoon. (Hears his Phone Ringing on the Table as He Looks Down to See his Best Friend's Calling Him) Speaking of which....(Looks Up at Morrigan) Wanna meet him?

Morrigan: (Happily Nodded) Yes, please~

Dedede: You got it! (Answers the Phone in a Video Call) Dedede's speaking!

Escargoon: (Happily Greets Dedede on his Phone Screen) Hello!~

Dedede: (Smiles Back) 'Ey, man! How you been?

Escargoon: Pretty good so far! (Smiles Sheepishly While Rubbing the Back of his Head Back and Forth on Screen) Sorry I haven't got the chance to see or speak to you again as of late. My schedule has gotten a little more busier this new year around.

Dedede: Nah, don't worry about it. I've been busy myself trying to find me a brand new Wheelie to replace.

Escargoon: (Raises an Eyebrow) Already? What happened to your old one?

Dedede: Guess.

Escargoon: It broke down again, didn't it?

Dedede: Yeah, in the MIDDLE of the damn road! And it got towed again shortly after.

Escargoon: (Eyes Widened a Bit) In one day? Talk about unlucky.......

Dedede: (Sighs While Pinching the Bridge of his Nose) It's more irritating if anything.....(Went Back to Smiling) On the bright side, I got me a girlfriend along the way.

Escargoon: (Forms a Sly Smirk on his Face On Screen) Ahhh!~ So that's why you're all dressed up tonight?~ Looking pretty sharp if you do say so myself, De.

Dedede: (Playfully Bows at Escargoon) Why, thank ya, thank ya! It ain't my best fit in the globe, but I gotta look my very best for the pretty, gorgeous lady sitting right in front of me as we speak~

Morrigan: (Giggles Softly)

Dedede: Oh yeah, speaking of which......(Turns his Phone Around Tiwards his Date) Escar, this my date, Morrigan Aensland. Morrigan, my best friend, Escargoon.

Morrigan: (Smiles Softly at the Screen) A pleasure to meet you at last, Mr. Escargoon~

Escargoon: (Chuckles Lightly) Likewise. But please, just call me Escar. Mr Escargoon is my father's name oddy enough- (Suddebly Felt a Hand Poking Him) Hm? (Turns to See a Waddle Dee Standing Nextvto Him On Screen) What's up?

The Waddle Dee is telling Escargoon something on screen.

Escargoon: (Eyes Widened at the Waddle Dee) Wait. Right now!? I thought it starts in an hour or two! (Watches the Waddle Shaking his Head and Explaing Everything to Him Before Sighing in Defeat on Screen) Well, alright, get the choir ready. I'll join you all there in a minute.

Waddle Dee salutes to Escargoon before sprinting away on screen.

Dedede: Y'all having a show tonight or something?

Escargoon: Yeah, it's part of this tribute show we're been putting together for the new king of Dreamland. (Starts Rolling his Eyes a Bit) Guess he's tired of waiting.

Dedede: (Rolls his Eyes in a Bit of Annoyance) New king, huh? How he's running the kingdom so far?

Escargoon: (Shrugs) Decently. He can be a a real pompous jerk at times, but he does the job fine enough I guess. Some of the people there has been asking about you though, even that Tiff girl we were beefing with in the past.

Dedede: Does she now? And here I thought she still hated my guts.

Escargoon: (Shakes his Hand Around a Bit) Eh. She says she does, but I can tell she has some ounce of care for you whether she wants to admit it or not.

Dedede: ('Heh') Knowing her, I bet she would try and run across the entire mountain before she ever try to do that!

Escargoon: (Chuckles a Bit)Yeah, same. But anyways I better get going before crowd starts getting moody again. (Happily Waves Goodbye at the Couple) Hope you two have fun on your tonight!~ And Morrigan, would you mind keeping De out of trouble for me while you're at? Thanks

Morrigan: (Nodded in Agreement) I feel your pain. There's never been a day in the world where my little sister didn't give me any smart remarks. It's annoying really.

Dedede turns around to see the leader of Star Wolf, Wolf O' Donell standing behind the chair he's sitting on.

Dedede: Yo, Wolf! How you been? (Gets Himself Up From his Seat and Dab Wolf Up) I didn't take you for a fancy dinner fan.

Wolf: ('Heh') Far from it. I'm actually here on a double date with Izzy, Panther and his lady for tonight. See?

Wolf shows Dedede his table in mid-close distance where his girlfriend, Isabelle, laughing and socializing with Panther and his date, a yellow feline dressed in a royal Egyptian like fashion.

Dedede: Huh. (Points Wolf to Panther's Date in Question) That's Panther's date over there? An Egyptian Queen?

Wolf: Yeah, 'least that's what she claims herself to be. We met her back at Horizon Island a while back and her and lover boy here have been almost inseparable ever since.

Dedede: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprise) Damn, really? I never took that boy for the commitment type.

Wolf: Neither did I. Hell, I'm surprised they're lasting longer than I thought they would. (Notices Dedede's Date Sitting on His Table) Anyways, who's your new date this time?

The briefly beautiful Witch Gruntilda continues to howl in evil laughter with Dedede as her poorly tied up capture until a Wolfen suddenly swoops in and knocking both her and the Ex-King out towards the night skies.

Dedede: (Rolls his Eyes) Riiight. How can I ever forget the time you sent us flying across the stars?

Wolf: (Facepalms Himself While Sighing) How many times do I have to apologize for that? Leon caught you afterwards!

Dedede: Yeah! No thanks to you!

Wolf: (Shrugs) Hey, a save's a save. I consider that a worthy accomplishment.

Dedede: Accomplishment my- ('Groans') Whatevah. The point is that Morrigan ain't like that witch or any other crazy nutjobs I dated in the past!

Wolf: You sure? Cause I believe anything can happen in a like this, especially when one of your disastrous dates gets involved.

Dedede: I'm as sure as I am close to knockin' you upside the head if y'all don't stop worrying ove-

The duo turns back towards Morrigan, giving her a much needed attention.

Morrigan: Excuse me, Mr. Wolfman?

Wolf: ('Ugh') Wolfman sounds like my grandpa's nickname. Just Wolf O' Donell is fine, lady.

Morrigan: Ooh~ Lovely name. (Quickly Clears her Throat Before Going Back on Topic) Anyways, I understand your concerns completely, but please let me assure you and everyone else in the Smash Family that I will do everything in my power to keep my sweet, darling king safe and happy from this day forward. As well as giving him some much needed love and affection, of course~ (Winks at her King)

Wolf: (Whispers to an Already Flustered Dedede) Sweet, Darling King, huh?

Dedede: (Comes Back to Reality Before Rolling his Eyes at Wolf Again) She already knows I'm Ex-Royalty, don't even start. (Forms a Teasing Smirk) Besides, it's leagues better than being called Wolfie-Kins 24/7.

Dedede: Y'all don't do anything I wouldn't do over there, Wolfie-Boi! (Laughs Wholeheartedly)

Wolf gives Dedede the middle finger as he continues walking off.

Dedede: ('Sigh') That boi is still as soft as ever, I'll tell ya what.

Morrigan: (Starts Frowning a Bit) Dedede dear, do you mind if I ask you question for the evening?

Dedede: (Happily Shakes his Head at Morrigan as He Sits Back Down in his Down) Not at all. Whatcha wanna ask me?

Morrigan: Your previous dates. Were they....really as disastrous as Wolf said

Dedede: I.....(Smiles Awkwardly as He Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth) Wouldn't exactly call all of them a....completely disastrous or anything! (Let's Out an Awkward Chuckle) Unless you wanna count all the kidnappings, the stood ups, the debit card bankruptcies that happened the day after, or that one time I used as a surgery test dummy by some creepy looking nurse lady.

Morrigan: (Eyes Widened in Complete Shock) What!? Why would she do such a thing?

Dedede: (Shrugs) Your guess is as hella good as mine, girl. B-But it's fine! Not great, but it's a lot better than getting possess most of the time by dark matter-Why the hell did I say that out loud?

Morrigan: (Starts Getting Worried) Darling......

Dedede: ('Sigh') Listen, I know it ain't an easy ride for me along the way, but that's all behind me now, especially all the trouble I caused that got into being former king to begin with. I ain't shit.

Morrigan: Maybe to some. (Gently plave her Hand on Top of her Date) But you're shit to me. (Smiles Softly)

Dedede: (Stares at Morrigan Forba Brief Second Before....) Pffft Hehehehehehehehehehh!!!

Morrigan: (Immediately Places on a Playful Pouty Look on her Face) Dedede! How dare you? We were having a sincere moment here!!

Dedede: (Tries Calming his Laughing Down) Sorry, sorry. Your word delivery just threw me off for a second here.

Morrigan: (Shrugs While Letting Out a Sigh) I suppose....But seriously though, I meant every word I said in case you were wondering. And believe me when I say that I wasn't any better of person myself. (Looks Down at her Glass of Wine) I've done things that were selfish and thoughtless, most of which I regretted to this very day.

Dedede: (Forms a Reassuring Smile) Hey, that's cool. It happens to the most of us at times. (Gently Grav Hold of Morrigan's Hand) We just gotta try to better ourselves and keep pushing forward the best we can, you know?

Morrigan: (Stares at Dedede Smile For a Few Seconds Before Smiling Back) Yes. I agree. And...if you don't mind, I would like continue to push forward....,(Gently Squeezes Dedede's Hand) With you by my side.

Dedede: (Smiles Brightly) Sounds good to me!

An Hour or Two Dinner and a Wheelie Ride Around the Town Later.......

Dedede: (Parking his Wheelie in Front of the Smash Mansion's Entrance) Here we are! (Takes hus Helmet Off of his Face Before Taking a Deep Breath) Home sweet home! (Politeky Bows to his Date) After you, m'lady~

Morrigan: (Giggles Softly as She Steps Out of the Front of the Ride) Such a gentleman~ I appericate you giving me a tour around the town this evening. (Wraps her Arm Around Dedede's as the Two Make Their Way to the Front Entrance) It was very fun experience.

Dedede: No problem. What kind of escort i would be for I didn't give you a nice little joyride in a night like this? Now, are you sure you don't wanna come inside here for a little while? We can watch some TV to pass up the time.

Morrigan: That would also be lovely. ('Sigh') But atlas!~ I must get my beauty sleep for the rest of the Nighy. I have a busy schedule ahead of me tomorrow I'm afraid.

Dedede: (Frowns a Bit) Oh.....

Dedede: What the- (Quickly Turns Around to See his Group of Friends and Family Smiling and Smirking at Him Before Facepalming Himself) You gitta be fucking- (Glares at the Gang) Have y'all been spy on us this entire time!!?

Dedede: Don't get smart with me, boy.

This is Thunder! He is a nightwing and icewing hybrid!

Lore:

His hybridization comes from being a result of a secret nightwing breeding program with intentions to improve nightwing genes. Unfortunately, he is unable to breathe fire or ice, so he relies on his own strength and claws. Most of his characteristics are that of a nightwing, except for his ruff of spines, tail spines, longer claws, and bluish coloration. The top of his head is also flat like an icewing's. He has one earring in his left ear along with a scar on the left side of his neck (he won't share how he got it [I don't know why he has it yet]). His horns and ruff of spines are a gradient of the secondary tone and his spine tone. They also seem to pale with age.

He is best friends with a sea wing, Gourami (who is coming later), whom he travels with. He occasionally experiences hot flashes and chills for short periods. His ability to have visions is somewhat unclear, as they seem cloudy and unreadable and are often hard to tell apart from dreams.

Do you play any pc or console games? If so, any faves or recs? If not, what are you reading these days?

I play relatively little even though I enjoy it. Not many games appeal to me and I tend to watch my BF play and see if I might enjoy it, or just enjoy watching.

I'm playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and the last thing before that was Horizon Zero Dawn which I stalled on because even though it was really good I think I wasn't in the right mood to enjoy it. Before that it was Stray. Between all those I play a shitton of Borderlands, probably my favorite series and definitely comfortingly familiar. I loved Assassin's Creed until they stopped being what I wanted (this is not a judgment, just my opinion on the direction the series took after I think Black Flag). I'm not good at most games but I was unnaturally good at AC. And if I have a sniper rifle in Borderlands I am a monster. Ages ago I would maul anyone at arcade Soul Caliber and Darkstalkers, and for early PS games I loooooved Wipeout. Klonoa was also amazing for the time and the gameplay would probably still be considered top notch for what it was.

I tend to like sandbox games with a plot that you can engage or avoid, and I do like action/shooter games over puzzle games.

Ironically, my two recs are puzzle games -- not my faves, but I don't need to recommend Skyrim to anyone. Everyone knows about it. Portal, yeah, pretty popular.

But these;

Stray is amazing.

Abzu is amazing.

Both are so beautiful and both touched me in new, deep ways that made me Feel So Much. Stray made me feel a lot about cats and their inner lives so of course I cried a lot, and Abzu about...about the bigness and beauty of the world, specifically the ocean, and...I don't know, I CANNOT express it. I cried for reasons I don't even understand. I am getting tears in my eyes thinking about it. PLEASE investigate these. They are amazing. Play Abzu on the biggest screen you can in the darkest room you can.

The game I have played most is Sims 4, though, on laptop. A time sink money devourer. Extremely entertaining. I have a special love for it. And I really like interior decorating. (My boyfriend is actually GOOD at it. Holy shit.)
