25 Dates of Christmas: Day Twenty
Tumblr media
If there was one thing you were good at it was avoiding meeting your significant other's families. You had only dated a handful of people, but never once had you met their family. You weren’t the best with other people. Plain and simply, you were weird and goofy. Always saying or doing the wrong thing. You couldn’t count how many times you were made fun of or looked at wrong because of the way you laughed, your mouth hanging open as you practically yelled a laugh. So you did the only thing you thought you could do, you hid your true self from everyone. It worked for the most part, but when you started dating Kirishima everything was different. Being with him was different. It was like coming up for fresh air after holding your breath for an indefinite amount of time.
You would never forget the first time you met Kirishima, the memory holding a special place in your heart.
                                                          -
It was your first day at UA high and to say you were nervous was an understatement. You had just moved back home from a year abroad in the United States training under their number one pro hero. It truly was an incredible opportunity. You had learned and experienced so much that when the day for you to become a pro came you knew you would be ready.
You hadn’t met any of your classmates from class 1A considering you left the day before your first year started. However you did your research before class started and at least learned all their names and their quirks. UA was beyond thrilled for you to experience the opportunity, so they held your place in class until you returned. Your nerves only intensified as you realized your classmates had an entire year to get to know each other and make lasting friendships.
You quieted your nerves and walked into the classroom before you could change your mind. Class was already in session when you walked in since you had to register with principal Nezu beforehand, which meant all eyes were on you as you walked up to Mr. Aizawa and handed him the note Nezu gave you.
“Class please welcome YLN YN. They were supposed to be with us last year, but got an amazing opportunity to study abroad under the number one hero in the States.” Aizawa said keeping your introduction short and sweet, which you were incredibly thankful for.
You waved a quick hello to your classmates before sitting down in an empty seat in the back, noticing the many eyes that followed your every move. You kept your attention on the floor until you made it to your seat and then you turned your attention to whatever subject was being taught, keeping your eyes on the front until it was time for lunch.
You were the first person out the door, finding a quiet place in the corner of the cafeteria to sit and eat your lunch alone in peace. You weren’t one for small talk and you knew your classmates were going to want to hear all about your time abroad. Sure you could tell them all about what you experienced, but you weren’t one to brag or gloat and this was exactly the type of thing to do that with. Putting in your headphones you closed your eyes and shut out the noise as you waited impatiently for lunch to end.
You felt the presence in front of you before you felt the tap on your shoulder. Without taking out your headphones you looked up and were met with five sets of eyes. You slowly took your headphones out and waited for one of them to speak. After a few seconds of them continuously staring at you, you decided to talk first instead.
“Is there something I can help you guys with?” You asked as you looked between the five of them.
“What’s so special about you?” Bakugou asked as he looked you up and down obviously trying to size you up, scoffing at you quickly coming to the conclusion that you weren’t special at all. “Doesn’t look like much from where I’m standing.”
You let out a chuckle stopping his friends from reprimanding him. “Why don’t you come closer and find out for yourself, blondie.” You threatened as you looked him up and down quickly shooting him a challenging smile.
“Why you..” He started but was stopped when his friends put their hand on his shoulder and pulled him in the opposite direction. You let out a genuine laugh as you watched him glare at you, trying to bust free from his friends grip to come at you.
“You have a beautiful laugh.” Kirishima complimented as he looked down at you with a soft smile. His words caused your head to shoot up and your eyes locked with his red ones.
“Oh uhh thank you Kirishima.” You replied shyly as you tried to stop your face from getting all red.
“You know who I am?” He asked his voice coated in surprise while he maintained eye contact with you.
“Let’s just say I did my research before my first day.” You answered honestly as the bell rang indicating that lunch was over. You slowly put your headphones in your pocket hoping Kirishima was already gone, so you could walk back alone. When you looked up, there he was waiting for you with a bright smile on his face. You smiled back up at him and walked in silence back to the classroom.
You weren’t even in the door before Bakugou was inches from your face threatening to blast you straight to hell. Once again you found yourself not being able to hold back your laughter.
“Whatever you say, blondie.” You said quickly patting him on the head before sidestepping him and sitting back down at your seat before he even knew what happened. The whole class laughed alongside you as Kirishima tried to hold Bakugou back. All the while Bakugou glared at you as if he could make your head explode by just thinking about it. Not being able to help yourself you send a wink his way before focusing your attention to the front of the class.
“Settle down class. Bakugou, Kirishima take your seats.” Midnight said, entering the classroom and beginning her lesson immediately.
Your classes went by quickly and soon it was time for actual training. You were excited to spar against your classmates and show them exactly what you could do, especially that hot headed blond Bakugou. You felt Bakugou’s eyes on you the whole time Aizawa addressed the class.
“Since it’s YLN’s first day how about you show us what you can do. Would anyone like to volunteer to..” Aizawa started but was interrupted as Bakugou came to stand in front of him. “Are you okay with that YLN?” He asked looking between the two of you curiously.
“That’s fine with me Mr. Aizawa. You might want to have Recovery Girl on standby though.” You said with a shrug as you stretched your muscles out, getting your body ready and mind ready for your quirk. The class erupted into laughter once again as you focused your attention on Bakugou. To say he was pissed was an understatement.
“You’ll regret that in a minute.” He threatened as you guys waited for the okay from Aizawa.
As soon as you got the go ahead Bakugou was on the offense, blasting you as many times as he could. You had no choice but to go on the defensive, quickly blocking his attacks as you memorized his movements, waiting for an opening. Nobody in your class knew what your quirk was and it was time to show them just what you could do. As your body instinctively dodged his attacks your mind analyzed his quirk finding his weakness and showing you exactly what you needed to do to beat him.
When an opening presented itself you made your move. You slammed your hand on the ground covering the arena with ice making the heat in the room dissipate. Since Bakugou’s quirk is contingent on his sweat you made it harder for him to do so. As the room grew colder and colder you used the opportunity to change your quirk and blast him with water, which in turn with the chilling weather made the blond shiver instead of sweat.
If there was one thing you had learned from watching Bakugou in televised events it was that he never gave up. You waited for his counter attack and quickly dodged placing your hand on his shoulder to encase him in ice, ending your sparring match and ensuring your win.
Your classmates clapped at the display of your quirk, their faces shocked at your display as you walked over to Bakugou giving him a smile as he looked at you through the ice. Placing your hand above the ice you activated your quirk once again, melting the block in seconds as you waited for the onslaught you knew you were about to receive.
“So what exactly is your quirk?” Kaminari asked once you made your way back over to your classmates.
“I have the ability to find the weakness to anybody's quirk and then use that weakness against them. I guess you could say I can use every quirk known to man.” You answered with a small laugh as you finished your explanation.
“So you’re invincible?” A few classmates asked at once causing your laugh to grow.
“Not at all. There are limits to my quirk just like everyone else. So far I can only use it on two people at once, and even that is pushing it. Training in the States definitely improved what I can do, but I’m still a long way from where I want to be.” You babbled on as your eyes locked with Kirishima. He was the only one looking at you like you were just another one of his classmates and not some invincible future hero. You smiled up at him before addressing another question, the smile he gave back to you causing butterflies to erupt in your stomach.
                                                               -
After your first day at UA you had grown impossibly close to Kirishima and with time the rest of the Bakusquad as well. You were probably one of the only people Bakugou respected, even though he would rather die than admit that to anyone. However you knew it by the not so subtle way he backhandedly complimented you as you trained and got stronger together. You found yourself working out with Kirishima as much as you could, finding comfort in his presence.
Towards the end of your second year you had fallen completely in love with the red haired teen, confessing your feelings as soon as you realized them. After a long day of training you decided now was the time to confess, only for him to beat you to it.
“Hey YN, can I ask you something?” Kirishima asked once the others cleared out of the training room.
“Yeah of course. What’s up?” You answered as you made eye contact with him, the look he was giving you making your stomach erupt with butterflies.
“Will you go on a date with me?” He asked confidently as he gave you his signature bright smile.
“There’s nothing I’d love more.” You answered quickly, not caring about how fast you said yes.
And the rest was history. Your first date had gone perfectly and you guys had been together ever since. You had just celebrated your three year anniversary and we’re currently trying to find a way out of spending the holiday with his parents.
You had gotten out of it the last few years with school or work, but this year you and Eijiro had both gotten the day off together. You were honest with him about your feelings and he reassured you endlessly that his parents were going to love you. In fact they already did. He talked about you constantly. His love for you showing every time he looked at you or talked about you.
Now here you were, standing outside his family home trying to talk yourself into going in. A hand wove itself through yours as you looked up and saw Eijiro smiling down at you with the smile that you had come to love more than anything. With a single smile your nerves were eased, for the most part. You took a deep breath before walking in.
The minute you were inside you were pulled into a hug by a woman you only assumed would be his mother.
“Mom, we haven’t even gotten in the door all the way.” Eijiro said with a laugh as he took his coat off, putting it on the rack next to the door.
“Eijiro, hush. I finally get to meet the girl my little man fell in love with.” She stepped back a bit to get a better look at you as she gave you a loving smile. “It’s so nice to finally meet you dear.” Her smile reminds you so much of the man standing next to you that you felt your body instantly relax.
“It’s nice to meet you too.” You smile up at her as you're pulled into another hug by the woman, this time you wrap your arms around her and hug her back. Just then Eijiro’s dad walked in and laughed at the site before him.
“How about we let the poor girl take her coat off and get comfortable before we bombard her with more hugs.”
Eijiro’s mom reluctantly let go of her hold on you as she walked over to give her husband a sweet kiss before turning back to the two of you and motioning for you to join them in the living room.
“Promise to love me no matter what happens tonight?” Eijiro asked as he laced his hand back in yours.
You let out a small laugh and nodded as he pressed a quick kiss to your cheek, before leading you into the living room.
The walls were filled with pictures of Eijiro. Ranging from baby pictures to a picture of the two of you. You could only smile as you looked at the picture. You were looking at the camera with a goofy grin as he looked at you with so much love in his eyes it made you choke up.
“That’s one of my favorite pictures of us.” He whispered in your ear as he placed a sweet kiss to your lips.
“Well don’t hide her from us, Eijiro.” His dad yelled from the other room causing you both to laugh. You let him pull you into the living room as you took in your surroundings. His childhood home reminding you a lot of your own. You could feel the love in the air as you took a seat and got ready to tell his parents all about yourself.
“So tell us about yourself.” His mom said, giving you a sweet smile. So you did. You told her everything important there was to know about you. Once you began talking you couldn’t stop. The atmosphere in the Kirishima home made you feel incredibly comfortable. Your fears diminished and soon you were laughing openly with them as they told you stories from Eijiro’s childhood.
You couldn’t believe you could fall more in love with him, but if there was anything you learned from tonight, it was anything was possible.

BNHA AU Ideas: True Might
Also on AO3!
TL;DR:  Powers don't make the hero - passion does. Luckily for Izuku and Toshinori, this is something the quirkless have in droves.
AKA: All Might is a quirkless vigilante, One for All isn't a quirk that exists and 1A gets a whole 3-week buffer before villain's start kicking their face in as opposed to the 3 days of canon.
Basically: Quirkless!Vigilante!All Might and Quirkless!Successor!(gen ed) UA Student!Midoriya. It’s a riot.
Yagi is stupid strong, his only form in this AU is basically Muscle Form from canon, but he’s a little less ridiculously cut. Not quite chubby, but huggable. This is mostly because he A, isn’t a celebrity that needs to have a marketable image and B, he really likes carbs.
He’s not exactly a vigilante by choice, in his day and age quirkless kids weren’t permitted to apply to UA, either gen ed or heroics. When Nezu got the job, that all changed, but it was a solid decade too late for Yagi.
He’s admittedly a little bitter about it, but he refuses to do anything but his best. He might be a little snippier with Pros than he really needs to be but oh well.
Katsuki and Izuku are utterly enamoured with this crazy vigilante that just doesn’t lose, refuses to back down from a fight even when he’s outmatched, and somehow coming out victorious anyway, rescuing everyone. They have a tense relationship, but often find time to get together and just ramble about how cool All Might is, share theories and dissect his fights. It’s not uncommon for Katsuki to have been hurling abuse at Izuku during class, only to show up at his house after school with a backpack full of snacks and a notebook full of questions.
Izuku knows most of what Katsuki does is to keep his status in the school. If he showed pity to a dumb quirkless runt he’d be painted with the same brush. This doesn’t make what Katsuki has done right! Only Izuku doesn’t blame him because he’s way too forgiving.
Izuku is the smartest person Katsuki knows and vice versa – they are each other’s measuring stick. Katsuki shows Izuku bravery, Izuku shows Katsuki determination.
Episode 1 goes as it does but you see a real flash of regret when Katsuki tells Izuku to jump off a roof because they are kinda-sorta friends. Izuku looks so betrayed. We meet the slime villain like before, All Might saves Izuku and 100% doesn’t expect the kid to fanboy about him and ask for two autographs – one made out to a “Kacchan”.
“Can someone quirkless be a hero?” “The whole world will be against you. Most places won't even give you a shot – no matter how good you are. You’re better off picking something else.”
Izuku is crushed but he does understand. All Might leaves and Izuku trails off kinda hopelessly. He follows the sounds of explosions without meaning to.
It’s Katsuki! He’s dying! Like usual at this point lmao. Izuku rushes in much like canon, All Might shows up, pulls Katsuki free and slams a dumpster on the slime villains head before making a speedy getaway. The police rip into Izuku but Katsuki actually defends him. “You were doing fuck all while I fucking died – don’t knock the only asshole who tried.” Izuku quietly slips him the autograph before running off the scene. Katsuki cries because Izuku got that for him even after he was such a fucking bastard that day? He can’t bring himself to be a dick to Izuku again, even only for show.
All Might finds Izuku and he's like “Sorry I was an ass I was being a dick because I had low self-esteem – I’m quirkless. If you’ll have me I’ll make you into the best hero the world had ever seen
Izuku, obviously, says yes please!
Also, hypermobile Izuku with joint braces as support gear because just let me project please my arms are killing me ( I wrote this a while ago and yes. My arms are still killing me - yes even now). He gets them after All Might sees him miss a dodge because his ankles rolled beneath him. They support his joints beyond the normal range of strength, letting him do some crazy pivots and handsprings, making it easy to support all his weight on a single-arm with very little strain. They can also lock in place, lessening muscle fatigue if he needs to hold onto something for ages and preventing injury if he’s pushing against something. Produced by David and Melissa Shield and imported through Nighteye Heroics.
Is support gear illegal for civilians to own? Yes! But medical equipment isn’t so if you can just convince people its medical not support you can get away with a lot.
Yagi has no weapons himself, other than the random shit he picks up and swings at people, and has little support gear other than a communicator, panic button, and a whole lot of zip-ties.
Izuku should probably have weapons but I’m struggling to think of anything other than war fans because how cool would that look? Because Shonen they would also have the ability to create powerful downdrafts that would give a boost to a jump or dodge.
Probably doesn’t get them until later and needs to train with them.
In this AU, One for All isn’t a quirk. Rather, it’s a role, passed from quirkless person to quirkless person, the only people who can’t be hard countered by All for One. They tend to be vigilantes, crime lords or hero managers, doing their part to foil as much of All for One’s plans as they can, through whatever means necessary.
It’s a role with a pretty high fatality rate.
No one knows All Might is quirkless other than those close to him, they instead think he has a strength quirk. He’s the most prolific vigilante in Japan and is almost as much of a household name as canon All Might. More divisive though, with most people decrying his vigilante status when he could ‘easily make a respectable hero’. He’s also pretty brutal with his takedowns of some villains, leading a lot of people to call him an unregulated brute. Still more call him a villain which, legally he would be - were he using a quirk.
Nighteye is his contact in the heroics industry, gives him loads of inside info that’s typically not something he should be passing on. He’s still close with David Shield. Nighteye imports any costume parts he needs from David and leaves them at various pickup points for Yagi.
He went to college with David in America after Nana died; America having a quirk blind admission process helped - but he’d have gotten shit talked a lot if people didn’t just assume he had a strength quirk. Dude was and is crazy big.
David was one of the only people that knew he was quirkless
OH FOR FUN; Nighteye was also going to this American college and that’s where he met All Might. The three of them became the world’s strangest group of friends and may have lowkey done some slightly illegal vigilante work around the campus and surrounding town. They had a reputation for getting no sleep ever and being the most mismatched set of people
Secretly Smart Jock, Business Man with a Touch of E-boy, Science Hipster. They all tumbled into class together with varying levels of alive-ness. Nighteye and David were very much not morning people.
UA! It’s a ride. Izuku fails the practical but he’s not shocked – he was prepared for this.
He actually got like 30 hero points? But they refused to admit him on hero points alone due to his ‘deficiencies’. They don’t exactly tell Izuku this but Aizawa was there and he was furious.
Gets into 1C with Shinsou, Shinsou fuckin hates him on sight for reasons best known to him (It’s bc he was so god damned cheerful he just – assumed Izuku had a quirk. I love Shinsou but he’s more than a little judgemental). Izuku is like smiling through the pain because he just wanted to make a friend his age – Katsuki barely counts.
He sits with him at lunch and makes friends-ish with the hero kids who dragged Katsuki along, meets Ochaco again. She’s upset he didn’t get in – especially after he tells her he apparently got 30 points. The whole table gets mad on his behalf and hes embarrassed and happy.
Like day 2 he’s leaving gym and someone is like “Oh LMAO it’s Deku – he was in the year below me at Aldera. Only fuckin quirkless kid in the whole school; can’t believe he got into UA.” He turns to Izuku. “Who’s dick did you suck to get in you - ?” And Shinsou just decks him. He grabs Izuku – who is super confused fyi – and s p r i n t s. They have to stop after a while because hes having a panic attack and Shinsou doesn’t know what the fuck to do and he’s mad and upset and the sunshine boy is sobbing –
Aizawa shows up, having seen the (end of the) altercation and is ready to expel some gen ed kids he can’t legally expel – until he sees the two kids from the entrance exam he was interested in – including the quirkless kid who should have gotten in. Well he’s much more willing to hear them out.
100% requests expulsion on those 2 2E kids because that’s Discrimination and they should know better as second years. Nezu grants it because those 2 were di ck s
No USJ because no All Might – stuff like that will come,,, later : )
Sports Fest! Izuku and Shinsou kick ass, Aizawa is Watching. All Might may have gotten in as a crowd member with Nighteye and a visiting David and Melissa and they are cheering on their sun son. Also, Nighteye is going to go cheer on Mirio so he just got a pass to attend all 3 days of the sports festival. He’s just buying snacks on the second day because he’s never talked to one of the second years in his life.
Shinsou and Izuku make it to the tournament. Izuku has been training pretty seriously with All Might for a while now and hes a very good fighty boy. Makes it to the 3rd round of the tournament where he loses to Iida. Shinsou makes it second where he loses to Katsuki. Izuku is like “Iida might you be Ingenium’s brother or something?” “Yes, I am!” “OH MY GOD I LOVE INGENIUM ISN’T HE THE COOLEST” “YES MY BROTHER IS AMAZING” Shinsou is just watching while faintly amused.

BNHA Modern Gang AU
*I got bored on a car ride and kind of got overexcited imagining and planning out this AU inside my head so uh, yeah. I should also note that I ultimately decided they would not have quirks in this AU*
General Stuff: - I’ll be referring to the gang as Gang X for now - The kids would go to school and everything like normal kids but after school would have gang training (physical and in weapon use (instead of having quirks)  - I want all of the major events of the show to still be incorporated in the AU, in some way - And I want all the kids to have the same personalities and relationships, because its not a BNHA AU if all the characters have different personalities (also I love my babies so) - Everyones “Hero Names” in the show are now their gang names - Instead of striving to become the #1 hero, they’re striving to eventually take over and become the head boss of the gang (at least Bakugo, Deku, and Todoroki are)
School: - So I was imagining the kids would go to a nice private school paid for by the gang - Also a major sports school - It would have mostly normal kids but have 2 classes (in each grade level) filled specifically with the gang kids (like the hero course; the normal kids would be based off the general track in UA) - There are rumors that the school may have gang ties, but no ones ever really been able to prove it - The school nurse (they call her Recovery Girl because it seems like she can take any injury in 15 minutes flat; she even takes care of broken bones and major injuries) and the principal (Nezu; not sure what would be unique about him yet, as he obviously can’t be a mouse in this one) and the gang-class teachers are all aware of the ties to the gang and are in it  - So to properly encompass and justify Class 1-A and Class 1-B’s relationship, I was thinking both classes could also be in sports(maybe volleyball, baseball or basketball(require a lot of  teamwork) but anything would probably work)?(it would be mandatory as physical training and to strengthen their bonds) - I can’t decide whether I would have Class 1-A be varsity and class 1-b be JV of the same sport or both varsity of different sports.
Support Course/items: - So.... this wouldn’t be an extra class physically in school, but the kids training to work on support items would go to the same private school - Hatsume is still the prodigy - Support tailors weapons and sometimes clothing/other stuff to fit specific people  - Like they can tailor a specific gun to fit your hand, and can lower how much the gun kicks. They can do the same for knives, tailoring them to be the perfect length and weight for the user, as well as fitting perfectly in their hands. This goes for all weapons as well
“Gang Training”: - This is basically training to be able to be a competent gang member (most kids that get into the private school end up being higher ups) - They do basic physical training (I mean in hand-to-hand combat it helps to be strong, but also to handle the kick from any gun) but also with basic weaponry - The guns they use for training look, feel and have the actual kick of the gun they’re using but only actually shoot paintballs (Mr. Aizawa is a tough teacher but it’s not very rational to kill off all of your students lmao) - They train with all kinds of guns and ammunition, to get a feel for what each one is like and what they like. Aizawa requires them to train with all anyway though, as he believes you should be able to pick any random gun off the ground and shoot it with perfect efficiency and aim.  - There’s safety measures for swords and knives too, but I haven’t trained with those so idk what those would be lol
All Might: - I was imagining he would be the boss, or head of the organization, since he’s #1 hero (at least in the beginning) - Like in the beginning of the show, he is secretly sick from an old injury and can only fight for so long before he starts coughing up blood.  - He’s still revered as not only the best gang leader ever but also one of the most amazing fighters the underworld has ever seen - But, as he gets older he still needs to find a worthy successor, as he’s definitely not immortal - Believes the boss should still be actively involved in the gang, fighting alongside his men and while some people think it’s foolish, everyone respects and likes him more for it
All Might & Deku: - Obviously, Deku is still his secret chosen successor (or the one he wants to succeed him anyway but it will, in the end, go to the best candidate no matter what) - Deku was (distantly), probably through his father who’s in America, related to Gang X. His grandpa told him about it before he died, and all about All Might, the most impressive man in all the underworld, and has wanted to be just like him ever since - Soooo......I’m not entirely sure about how this part should play out, but I’m thinking maybe Deku was sick? And just couldn’t afford the really expensive procedure? (I’m pretty sure in the show Deku is middle class? So we’d keep it that way) - He by chance meets All Might and asks if he could ever be like him, even with his sickness, and All Might says no - Not sure what would go on to change his mind, but something happens, and All Might decides to pay for Deku’s hospital bills, heal whatever was going on, and personally start physically training him. Probably would make him clean up the whole ass beach still lmao - After the “entrance exam” (the physical part which happens after the standard school written at a secret location), Deku gets in by the skin of his teeth
Endeavor&Todofam: - uhhhhhhhhhhh........ - So he’s always wanted to be gang leader, but has always been behind All Might - He’s even tried duking it out with the boss a couple times but never wins - Not sure if I would make him head of the second most powerful branch of the gang or second in command - Either way he still not-so-secretly hates All Might, although he does grudgingly respect him - Wanted to become better than All Might, not get the top spot from All Might weakening, so he’s still pissed when All Might has to retire and he’s technically the boss now  - So, I haven’t been able to decide what Rei had that Endeavor wanted(since no quirks) but I still want it to be a fucked arranged marriage. Maybe she came from “good bloodlines” (like notoriously strong and smart /or people, whether her family was arranged in gang stuff or not) or maybe she was just very pretty and when she refused him, he literally bought off her parents? - Still raised Touya and Shouto specifically to be All Might’s successor - Touya still wasn’t good enough for some reason and something happened to him (weak bones maybe?) and he’s still dead in this AU (or is Dabi whatever the truth really is) - Rei still had a psychotic break and burned Shouto’s eye with boiling water and is in a hospital
Top 10 Heroes:  - So I want the top 10 heroes to either be the leaders of the 10 branches of the gang, or the top 10 members of the gang (they have a council or something)
Work Studies: - So in my old high school we were allowed to have a work study class, where we left campus for that hour and worked somewhere of our choosing, - Work studies were a big part of character development in the show so I’d like to keep those if possible - To make things less suspicious, work studies are required for all students (I mean let’s face it of entire classes all had work studies and others didn’t it would be weird). Also, since it’s a nice private school, I can totally see where they’d want the kids to go out and have “real world experience” before leaving high school - I would probably keep the fact that first years typically don’t have work studies (our school didn’t let freshman have them) but they’re trying something different this year - Of course the gang classes would be sent to various gang members (I think they’d still get to choose who, but idk maybe it would be more interesting if the teachers chose for them? - The general classes would go to whatever work study of their choosing, probably based on the careers they want to go into
Sports Festival:  - Literal school sports festival  - Limited only to those school students, i think - Gang members interested in work studies would come watch and scout - Would it be as internationally famous as the UA sports festival? i dont know tbh
Summer Camp & The Wild Wild Pussycats: - Not sure if here they would be purely working on physical ability and maybe martial arts or on weapons and stuff too - It would depend whether or not the Pussycats knew about the whole gang thing(or if they were involved in it) or were just regular physical trainers with no connection or idea about the gang thing - Kota......I think I would have his parents die in a gang-related accident and, obviously, hate anything to do with gang activity (which is normal anyway). If the Pussycats were not gang-related I’m not sure how the whole Deku-saving-him thing would go down but oh well - The League of Villains would be attacking still, to kidnap Bakugo (for whatever reason)
League of Villains (Gang Y) & All for One: - In a world where there are no “heroes” and “villians”, they obviously can’t go by that name (I mean I guess they can but I feel like that would be kind of stupid and odd) so we’ll go with Gang Y, for now - All for One can’t be immortal in this one, so maybe the gang name just keeps getting passed on from successor to successor? Or he’s just stupidly old(like 100 years old and still kicking ass)? - So, in the underworld, obviously no one is really “good” so to speak, I assume Gang X would still be involved in basic drug deals and stuff like that, but think Gang Y would be involved in some really fucked up shit. Like slave trade stuff maybe? Blood money? - Gang X and Gang Y have been top rivals since both of them started (around the same time) - Gang startup story would be the same as the beginning of the AFO and OFA rivalry in the show (2 brothers with different ideals) - AFO still ends up in jail after the legendary battle in Kamino Ward  - So......I’m having trouble with Shigaraki’s backstory since quirks aren’t a thing. Like obviously it would still be a horrific accident but.....yeah you get the point (haha it sucks trying not to spill manga spoilers) - Toga’s backstory would pretty much be the same I think - Spinner would have some deformity or something (since he can’t be a lizard) justifying his backstory - Twice is hard for the backstory thing.....but I would still have some traumatic event that caused him to do the contradicting voices thing - Nomu’s would maybe be like, brainless humans? Still look like flesh and blood humans but essentially be brain dead and only do what AFO tells them to do? Not sure but I’d still like them to be the result of human experimentation. - In Kurogiri’s case.........not sure tbh we’ll work on it  - Speaking of Kurogiri, he is like, get away driver/escape artist of the millennia. It’s like him and the rest of Gang Y just disappear into thin air. Even the police have tried to track him but? he’s just....gone? He’s still team mom, by the way, and really the only reason the Gang Y survives tbh (Credit to @tears-of-an-otaku )
Stain:  - Goes after and kills gang members (especially higher-ups) that he deems “corrupt” (ones that sit back and make underlings do all the work; rapers; betrayers; ones that are only really in it for the money; etc) - Puts chemicals on his weapons that immobilize his victims; The blood-type thing is still the same (works longer/better on specific blood-types) - Iida still goes after him for disabling his brother, and Deku finds and follows him, and Todoroki ends up coming as back up. - They still don’t get the credit for defeating him “for safety reasons”
Chisaki & Eri: - From a rivaling gang - Not sure how they find out whats going on but they do - Eri, at the very least, is still severely abused, but it would be cool to be able to incorporate using her blood to make some kind of drug  - Not really sure about much in this story arc tbh it’s so quirk-based it’s kind of hard to incorporate without them :/
The Licensing Exam: - Another sports festival, but this time with other major sports schools - Gang members come to scout as well  - In this one though, the other kids are just competing in a sports festival, but the teachers of the “gang classes” are also watching to determine whether or not their kids are ready to take on more “hardcore”/serious work studies (or even internships), where they would be able to experience what it’s actually like to be in a gang a little more in depth and practice real world fighting (and of course their special skills) - Special thanks to @tears-of-an-otaku for helping me figure this one out!
The Kids: - Like I said I want all the kids personalities and relationships to be the same - Jiro is still super into music and can still play (at least a little bit) a bunch of instruments; She has unnaturally good hearing too.  - Bakugo obviously can’t explode things with his hands anymore but has a dangerous interest in explosives (he was actually recommended to join the Support team but he rudely declined); still tells everyone to die on the (way too) regular; also still has the best reflexes in the class - Deku is super strong. Our sweet boy doesn’t look it but is strong af - Koda, still quiet as ever, is super good with animals (but afraid of bugs) - Momo is super good at designing and creating stuff and is very inventive(can always find a solution to a problem); She was also recommended to help in support but she (politely) declined; Still team mom - Iida’s a great runner (probably best at long distance but good at jump about anything)! Back in middle school, he was an absolute track star, but now-a-days with school, his class sports, and gang training, he doesn’t have time for track as well :( ;Still class president and team dad - Kaminari is still our lovable dumbass but is really good with electronics and wiring anything.  - Shinsou obviously can’t actually mind control, but he’s a super smooth talker and can convince almost anybody to do anything for him, so it can kind of seem like he controls people.  - Kirishima is an icon when it comes to defense training, he can block almost anything. He also never seems to get bruises. The rest of the class lowkey hates him for it because while, at the end of the day, they’re covered in bruises, Kirishima’s got maybe one (but usually not even that). He dyed his hair because he thought it made him took tougher and less boring - Aoyama is still into the ridiculously shiny, which is horrible for stealth practice, but he has this trick where he (maybe with a bracelet or something? Or a belt bc of his iconic belt in the show) can blind his opponent with the light reflecting off the metal and go in for an attack in that moment. It’s surprisingly effective.  - Oijiro may not have a tail, but he still excels at martial arts.He even rivals Bakugo (he might be able to win if Bakugo played by the actual martial arts rules that Oijiro was taught but he won’t) - Sugar makes Sato really energetic really quickly! (and for some reason makes him focus better). He’s still a super good cook and baker - Shouji still wears a mask all the time (he has a medical condition with his mouth that’s kind of gross and tends to scare people). He “talks with his hands” using sign language! He’s been teaching the rest of the class, as Aizawa said it was a very useful skill to have, especially in a situation where they need to be quiet but still communicate. - Hagakure, for whatever reason, is amazing a stealth missions! She’s somehow really good at blending into the background and even Jiro can’t hear her when she walks (unless she’s really focusing on it). Top of her class in it, actually.  - Mineta still isn’t that good in actual battle but is really good at simple immobilization (sorry the only thing I could think of for him even a little bit related to his quirk). - Ururaka (while not as strong as Deku), is surprisingly, incredibly strong. She can pick almost anything up and make it seem like the thing’s totally weightless (even when she’s actually struggling, something Deku can’t do) - Sero is the master of Duck tape really good at fixing stuff! It seems like he can fix almost anything; Him and Momo team up a lot when something breaks (which, in Class 1-A, is surprisingly often *cough* Bakugo *cough*); (Sorry, couldn’t really think of anything for him either but tape=fixing things? maybe?) - Mina is really into chemistry, specifically corrosives and hazardous mixtures. Her and Bakugo once teamed up after school and tried to make something - Aizawa said if they ever teamed up to do anything in the chemistry lab again they were going to be banned from it; Mina still has pink hair - Tokoyami has a pet raven that follows him everywhere-literally everywhere. It was a problem at first, but the school eventually decided to let Tokoyami keep it as long as it wasn’t making a mess anywhere and not attacking students (everyone else is lowkey mad about it like why does he get to keep a pet? Nezu tries to pass it off as an “emotional support bird” but everyone knows that’s bullshit); The bird (whom Tokoyami’s emo ass named Dark Shadow for some reason) can actually attack on cue! Actually, he kind of constantly has to be watched otherwise he might attack someone on the random (it’s happened; he seems to pick up on Tokoyami’s emotions somehow and if Tokoyami gets mad well.....; He has in particular had trouble Aoyama and all his sparkly things); The bird can actually send messages too! Tokoyami refuses to say how or why he trained his bird to do this but since no one expects such an old fashioned way of sending a message, it’s extremely useful for high secrecy messages (and packages; actually the actual gang has used it a time or two, a fact Tokoyami is secretly proud of). (Credit to @agaxso) - Todoroki is, not quite an expert, but has a weird amount of knowledge on arson and burning things (not sure why a gang would really need a skill like this except to burn bodies beyond recognition but Endeavor specializes in it so it must be useful somewhere); He also has an extensive knowledge of using  polyoxacyclobutane mixtures(liquid nitrogen definitely and maybe some other things?) to freeze things at whatever temperature (I think he’d probably shoot bullet-like things out of a modified gun; Freezing the target when it hits. Here’s a link explaining basically how polyoxacyclobutane works); He has practice with the modified gun from training with his father, but his mom was the one that originally taught him how to make and use the bullets properly.(Credit to @agaxso) - Monoma can do anything almost perfectly after watching someone else do it once. Unfortunately, he has a really horrible memory so he only retains the information for like an hour then has to watch them do it again. Still an annoying asshole - Kendo is tough as hell! Specifically has really tough hands/knuckles. The One Punch Man of class 1-B, she is literally known for being able to knock people out in only a punch or two. She once smacked Monoma and he had a wicked bruise on his cheek for 2 weeks. She still maintains that she “didn’t even hit him that hard” - Awase is an amazing welder! He was another candidate for the support team, but after some consideration he declined - Tetsutetsu, like Kirishima, has ridiculously tough skin that never bruises, and has amazing defense - I don’t really know enough about class 1-B to finish this unfortunately - Aizawa and Vlad actually put special time aside for the kids to practice and hone their specific skills and learn how to put them to use in battle. After all, you should use everything you have in your arsenal in real battle, and unique/special “skills” can be extremely useful in battle and often pack the element of surprise and can easily but you above whoever your fighting, (especially if they don’t have any special attacks)
Soooo......if anybody would like to write out this AU for me and help fill in the blanks I would love you forever and also probably owe you my life because I have absolutely fallen in love with this AU. Also let me know if I missed anything or you have ideas for the stuff I couldn’t fill in and I’ll put it in (and credit you of course lol) @todorokitops I know you’re a pretty well known Tumblr fanfic writer so......know anybody who might be up for the challenge?

This Is Why I Don’t Socialize (Her Shadows Ch. 2)
Tumblr media
Makoto and I walked down the hallway, occasionally exchanging a few words, but mostly just taking everything in. When we decided we'd done enough exploring, we checked the time and saw that we still had 45 minutes until class started.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Makoto whined, putting his arms behind his head.
"We could always go bug the staff in the teachers' lounge," I suggested.
Makoto got this sly smile on his face as he nodded vigorously. So together we made our way to the teachers' lounge, where Dad and a bunch of the other teachers were sure to be. We arrived at the door to the lounge and I pushed it open. As soon as we walked in, we saw a lot of the teachers hanging out and chatting, All Might included. Also, yes, Makoto and I know about All Might, his injury, and how he can't stay in "hero form" for very long. We hang out around UA so often it would have been impossible for them to keep it a secret from us, so Principal Nezu just flat out told us what happened.
"Well, well, well," Midnight said with a smile. "Look at who got into the Hero Course!"
Makoto and I looked at each other and chuckled as we walked in. Midnight immediately stood up and came over to Mako and me.
"You two have gotten to be so much stronger since the last time I saw you," she said, patting our heads.
"Thanks, Midnight," Mako responded. "That means a lot, coming from you."
Midnight gave us a closed eye smile and walked back to her seat on the couch. Mako and I walked over to the counter that the coffee maker was on and began to make ourselves some coffee. Nobody stopped us because it wasn't uncommon for us to be here. When we were both homeschooled and UA was in session, we would spend the majority of our time in the teachers' lounge and socialize with the teachers that didn't have a class. Suffice to say, everyone was used to our presence at this point.
"What are you two doing here?"
Mako and I turned around to see Dad standing right in front of us, his eyes half-closed and his yellow sleeping bag hanging over his shoulder.
"We're making coffee," I responded. "What does it look like?"
Dad sighed dramatically before turning back around and walking to a corner in the room. He climbed into his sleeping bag and fell back asleep. Mako and I turned to each other and laughed as we waited for the coffee to finish brewing. Right as we were pouring our coffee, Present Mic came up to us with an attitude that was way too cheerful for this early in the morning.
"WHAT'S UP, MY DUDES?" He boomed. "YOU PUNKS READY TO DAB THIS DAY?!"
Internally Mako and I cringed. Mic always tried to be "hip" but the way he used slang was nothing short of cringey. I'm absolutely convinced the man gets all of his slang and memes off of Facebook.
"Yeah," Mako said. "I think we are."
"Well good job, both of you, for getting into UA," he said, talking much softer. "We're all very proud of you."
Mako and I looked around the room to see all of the teachers looking at us with varying degrees of pride in their eyes. I almost started crying, but managed to keep the tears from surfacing. Even All Might looked like he was proud of us and he'd only known us since the entrance exam ended. I bowed in thanks to everyone and saw Mako do the same out of the corner of my eye.
The two of us spent the rest of the time we had in the teachers' lounge talking to all of the teachers. We had a really nice conversation with All Might and it was a little surprising to hear how down to earth he was. After checking the time on the clock on the wall, I noticed we only had 10 minutes until class started. I nudged Mako and nodded my head toward the clock. He nodded in response upon seeing the time and we both stood up.
"Thank you for your time," we said in unison to All Might while bowing to him.
"It was my pleasure, you two," he said, waving his hand a little in embarrassment that we were bowing.
We smiled at him and quickly washed our coffee mugs in the sink. Grabbing our bags, we walked out of the teachers' lounge saying a general goodbye to all of the teachers. Just as we got out of the lounge, Dad exited with us and closed the door behind him.
"Which classroom are you going to?" I asked him.
"That's none of your business," he responded with a teasing smile. The smile fell from his face as soon as he started talking again. "Now, I can't have you two punks ruining my image. So get going."
"Got it," I responded with a chuckle.
"See you later, Mr. Aizawa!" Mako said as he and I started walking down the hallway again.
As we were walking away I could hear him muttering.
"Now where is my sleeping bag?" he asked himself. "I need to make... an impression."
Mako and I looked at each other, both having heard what he said and stifled our laughs with our hands as we walked away. As soon as we turned the corner, we started laughing openly, the sound carrying through the halls.
"So," Mako started, calming down from laughing. "We're in Class 1-A."
"Right," I responded. "So we should be just around this corner."
Sure enough, as soon as we turned the corner, our classroom was right there. The door was massive and we could hear yelling come from the other side of the door. Mako and I stood in front of the door, neither of us ready to go in yet.
"I don't know if I'm ready for this," I told Mako, voicing my concerns. "I mean, if I'm anything like my birth parents then I-"
"Stop worrying," Mako interrupted. "You are nothing like your birth parents and you're gonna do great. You won't even have to make friends with anyone if you don't want to."
"Good," I responded. "Because I don't want to make friends. I'm here to become a hero."
"I know," Mako said. "That's why we're all here."
I looked over to him and offered a small smile. He returned a grin of his own and held out his fist to me. I chuckled and gave him a fist bump before dropping the smile from my face and sliding the door to our classroom open.
It was just as chaotic and loud as before and nobody even bothered to turn and look at us besides a few of the boys that had been shouting to each other in a friendly conversation. I scanned the classroom and found my seat right next to Shoto Todoroki, a boy I had met at the recommendations exam. Mako's seat was right in front of mine, which was poor planning on our teacher's part. I was about to walk to my seat when I was stopped by a short boy with purple hair.
"Hey, hot stuff!" He said, drool practically falling out of his mouth as he tried to look up my skirt. "Why don't you come sit by me?"
"Oh come on, Mineta!" a loud blond with a lightning bolt in his hair whined as he came over to us. "Why do you get to talk to all the hotties first?"
I shared a glance with Mako before ignoring both of them and trying to walk to my seat by the window. Both of the boys stepped in front of me in an attempt to stop me.
"Hey, I'm Denki Kaminari," the blond said, a flirty smile on his face. "But you can call me anytime."
"I'm Minoru Mineta," the purple-haired pervert said.
"And I don't care," I responded flatly. "Now, move out of my way before I make you."
I glared at them and they quickly scrambled out of the way. As I made my way to my desk, I heard Mineta grumbling.
"It's not like she's even all that pretty with those scars anyway," he mumbled.
I stopped in my tracks and took a deep breath to try and keep from lashing out at him. The room went so silent that you could hear a pin drop. I heard Mako smack Mineta over the head before coming up behind me and I heard Kaminari rebuking him as well. Good to know Kaminari has some respect for women. I thought to myself.
"You good?" Mako asked softly as he put a hand on my shoulder.
I nodded silently as I began to cross the room yet again. I made it to my desk and set my stuff down next to my chair. I knew there were eyes on me, but I honestly didn't care that much. Soon enough everything went back to how it was before Mako and I entered. There was an ash blond boy at the front of the classroom who had his feet on his desk and a tall blue-haired boy with glasses rebuking him and telling him to have some respect for the school he was attending. I heard the shouting conversation again and the giggling of some girls on one side of the classroom.
"He's wrong," Mako said, turned around at his desk so that he could talk to me. I looked up at him with confusion on my face. "What Mineta said. He's wrong. Your scars don't make you look ugly at all. I think they look cool."
"Thanks, Mako," I said with a small smile.
I pulled out my phone and started playing some games on it as an attempt to pass the time and ignore the stares that lingered. Especially the stare of Shoto Todoroki. I remembered seeing him at the recommendation exam and I remembered his quirk was extremely powerful. He had managed to place second while I placed 3rd and Mako placed 5th. I wasn't sure why he was staring so intently at me, but it was slightly unnerving. I kept my face blank as I waited for class time to start. If there was one thing I was thankful to my bully for, it was my learned ability to both control and conceal my emotions. In fact, Makoto and Dad are the only people I let my guard down around. With everyone else, I act like I don't care about anything, and it's always fun to see who I can piss off by acting that way.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when the door to the classroom opened and a boy with curly green hair and freckles stood in the doorway. As soon as he entered, the rude blond and the uptight blue-haired boy started going at it again.
"Take your feet off of that desk now!" the blue-haired boy said forcefully.
I groaned quietly and buried my head in my arms as I rested them on the desk. I blocked out the conversation that happened as much as I could, but I heard bits and pieces of it. Things like the blue-haired boy was named Tenya Iida, like the pro-hero Ingenium, and how the angry blond really doesn't like the green-haired boy, Izuku Midoriya. The rest I was able to tune out, but I glanced up a few times to see Mako looking over his shoulder at me to make sure I was okay. He tapped his desk with his finger three times and I tapped his chair leg twice in response. This would seem to be meaningless to anyone except Makoto and me.
When we were younger, Makoto didn't like talking about his feelings and I didn't like talking at all. So we devised a system to ask how the other person was without words. If we were holding hands or hugging, we would squeeze three times to ask how the other person was. The person being asked would squeeze back twice if they were fine and once if they weren't okay. This translated to things like now where we would tap on objects to ask if the other person was okay and we just never stopped. So when he tapped his desk three times, he was indiscreetly making sure I was okay and me tapping his chair twice let him know I was fine.
I saw Mako's shoulders relax and I relaxed back into my arms as he tapped my foot one more time with his as a way to make sure I knew he was there when I needed him. I hooked my foot around his as a source of comfort and he did nothing to move it. I think he needed a little comfort too. That was something about Mako that I learned very quickly. He is all about helping others with their emotions and problems but tends to minimize and neglect his own, which was something I tried to not let him do around me.
"If you're just here to make friends you can pack up your stuff now."
Mine and Mako's heads snapped towards the door where we heard my dad right outside the classroom door. Our eyes were wide as we met the other's gaze.
"Welcome to UA's Hero Course," he said in the same monotone voice he used with almost everyone.
"What the hell?" I mouthed to Mako.
He shook his head in response saying he had no clue. The class quieted down as Dad talked some more and unzipped his sleeping bag.
"It took eight seconds before you all shut up," he said, gathering his sleeping bag in his arms and walking into the room. "That's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that."
There was a moment of silence as Dad stood in the doorway of the classroom before he spoke again. The atmosphere was tense as everyone tried to figure out why a tired man with a yellow sleeping bag was in our classroom. They were idiots. Clearly, he was our teacher, which meant so much more antagonizing towards Makoto and me. I sighed heavily and noticed Makoto do the same.
"Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa," he said. "Your teacher." Everyone was shocked for a second, but Dad didn't waste any time in pulling out a PE uniform from his sleeping bag. "Right, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside."
Everyone was confused about what we were doing. Well, everyone besides Makoto and I. We knew what his style of teaching was and we knew he wouldn't go easy on us. If anything, he'd be pushing us harder than anyone else in the class. Realizing he was serious, everyone quickly grabbed a PE uniform and headed to the locker rooms to get changed. I got changed in the corner of the girls' locker room in a successful attempt to remain unseen. I was the first one done, so I walked out of the locker room while adjusting the bracers on my arms and saw Makoto, who walked out around the same time while finishing securing the bracer on his left arm. It was a piece that his mother used when she was a pro. He had one and his sister had the other.
"Did you know?" he asked about Dad being our teacher.
"No," I responded quietly. "You know I would have told you."
We kept the topic of our conversation secret because Dad, Makoto, and I had concluded that it might be a good idea to keep my identity and the fact that I'm our homeroom teacher's daughter a secret. It wouldn't be a secret for long, but it would be helpful while it lasted. That way nobody would think he was helping me in some way.
Makoto and I made our way outside. We were the first ones to be done changing. We met my dad out on the field and shot him half-hearted glares. He just gave us a teasing smile in return but it quickly fell from his face. We looked behind us and saw more students arriving, all now wearing their PE uniforms. I sighed and pulled all of my hair back into a ponytail and pinned my bangs back with some bobby pins I had put in my pocket. I knew what was coming and having my hair in my way wouldn't help me at all.
"Alright," Dad started. "Now that you're all here, I think it's time you know what you'll be doing. Today you'll be performing a quirk assessment test."
"WHAT?!" the rest of the students asked in unison. "A quirk assessment test?"
I could see the annoyance growing on my dad's mostly expressionless face as they all repeated exactly what he had said. He turned around, probably to hide this annoyance as a brown-haired girl, whose name I had heard was Ochako Uraraka, started talking.
"But orientation!" she whined. "We'll miss it!"
"If you really want to make the big leagues you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies," Dad said firmly with his back still turned to us. The students gasped before Dad continued. "Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit." Dad looked at everyone over his shoulder." Everyone started murmuring, worried about what would happen. Makoto and I shared a glance before turning back to Dad, determined to do well. He turned around to us fully while talking. "You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives." He pulled out a phone and showed it to us. "But you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel." He glanced at Mako and me for a few seconds before continuing. "It's not rational. One day the Ministry of Education will learn." He stood up straight and turned to the angry blond. "Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in junior high?"
"67 meters, I think," the angry blond, Bakugo, responded.
"Right," my dad said. "Try doing it with your quirk."
Everyone moved to a different part of the field and Bakugo stood in the center of a circle that was painted on the ground. Dad stood between him and the rest of us. We eagerly waited to see what Bakugo would get on his throw.
"Anything goes," Dad said blandly. "Just stay in the circle." There was a moment of pause where nobody moved. "Go on," Dad urged. "You're wasting our time."
"Alright, man," Bakugo said while stretching his throwing arm. "You asked for it."
He geared up for his throw with a big wind up and when he released it I could have sworn I heard him yell "Die!" But I could be wrong I suppose. A huge explosion left his hand as the ball soared through the air, followed by a trail of orange. Explosions. I thought. That's his quirk. Amazing! It's no wonder he got the highest score on the exam. He has so much power and brute force!
"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities," Dad said, holding the device that would measure distance in his hand. The ball landed in the distance and Dad turned back around to us. "It's the most rational way of figuring out potential as a pro hero."
He showed us the screen and in big, blue numbers we saw that Bakugo threw the ball 705.2 meters. I looked at Makoto and raised my eyebrows slightly, impressed at his throw. Makoto mirrored my expression and nodded. We had our work cut out for us.
"Whoa!" Kaminari said. "705 meters! Are you kidding me?"
"I wanna go!" the pink-skinned girl with horns said excitedly. "That looks like fun!"
I chuckled at her choice of words and I saw Makoto let a small smile through. The rest of the students kept talking about how much fun these tests would be. Idiots. I thought. He's gonna push us to our limits. This isn't supposed to be fun and it won't be.
"So this looks fun, huh?" Dad asked calmly. Everyone paused at his words. "You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and playtime?" A smirk that can only be described as devious made its way onto Dad's face. "Idiots," he said. "Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last had none and will be expelled immediately."
Everyone immediately made noises of protest. Makoto and I shared a look and I nodded. Dad was serious. Even if it was one of us that came in last, we'd be expelled. He wouldn't play favorites. Dad interrupted everyone's internal monologues about how they would need to do their best with more talking.
"Like I said," he started. "I get to decide how this class runs. Understand? If that's a problem, you can head home right now."
"You can't send one of us home!" Uraraka said, stepping forward to challenge Dad. "I mean, we just got here. Even if it wasn't the first day. That isn't fair!"
I scoffed and felt some eyes turn to me. Immediately Dad started talking again, though.
"Oh, and you think natural disasters are?" he asked. "Or power-hungry villains? Hm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No. The world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try and combat that unfairness." An air of understanding seemed to wash over the students as Dad continued to talk. "If you wanna be a pro, you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible hardship after another at you. So go beyond. Plus ultra style." He smiled again, this time a little more reassuring. "Show me it's no mistake that you're here."
After he finished talking, I could hear everyone chattering to themselves about how they needed to do well. I tried to calm my nerves that were rapidly growing. If there's one thing I've never liked, it's being singled out and made the center of attention. The fact that we would be doing most of these tests one at a time in front of our classmates was enough to get my heart racing. Sensing my nerves, Makoto grabbed my hand tightly. Much tighter than he would have if he was simply doing it for my benefit. I squeezed his hand three times to ask if he was okay. He squeezed twice at first, but a few seconds later squeezed again. He wasn't sure. He was nervous, we all were. These tests could make or break us.
"Now then," Dad started. "We're just wasting time by talking. Let the games begin."

I hope you all enjoyed today's chapter! The picture at the top is Makoto. On the left is his everyday outfit and on the right is his hero suit. Again, Makoto belongs to my friend, but the artwork is mine. I'm super excited for the next chapter. Thanks for reading!

Here’s that self insert timeline for my ship with Aizawa I promised! ^0^ Tagging a couple people who wanted to know or that I thought may be interested.
@strawberrybellsurprise @shiroeswife @wispy-selfship-eden @jagerdernacht
UA Days
When Sayeko first started at UA she was very quiet and shy, however Hizashi was set on being her friend. In fact on their first day, he simply announced that they were going to be friends from then on; seeing as Sayeko wasn't used to having friends, she chose to just roll with it. She then met Aizawa in their first year at UA during the sports festival. She was in the hero course, while he was in general studies looking to transfer to the hero course. Both did well in the first two events and were pitted against each other in the vs round. In my original headcanon, my insert beat Aizawa in the fight, but I realized he would need to win in order to get into the hero course. So Aizawa narrowly beat her in the fight, however Sayeko did not lose her spot in the hero course due to the discovery that one of her classmates cheated his way through. Hizashi did the same thing to Aizawa and the three became an unexpected trio.
Despite Aizawa's disinterest in relationships, he found himself crushing on Sayeko throughout their years at UA but chose not to pursue her. Sayeko, on the other hand, thought of him as nothing more than a friend and was oblivious to the reason behind his protectiveness when she started being bullied for dating a popular boy. Her bullies accused her of using her quirk to seduce him, even though she was very insistent on never using her catnip ability for anything but emergencies.
Pro Hero Days
After graduating UA, Sayeko moved to a small town to make her start as a pro hero. It hurt to leave her family and friends behind, but she wanted a fresh start to prove she could stand on her own. Over the next several years, Sayeko did well and could have made a name for herself if she didn't do everything she could to avoid media attention. While at an arcade on a day off, she met a quirkless young man who managed to sweep her off her feet. After knowing each other for a while, Riichi convinced her to give him a chance and they started dating. Sayeko didn't see Aizawa again until they both happened to be at a party for pro heroes (that neither really wanted to attend), however she only spoke to him and Hizashi briefly as she was there with Riichi. Unbeknownst to her, seeing Sayeko again brought back the feelings Aizawa thought he'd moved on from.
As the years went by, Hizashi grew more and more worried about Sayeko's well being. He noticed he was hearing from her less and less and had heard that many of her other friends had stopped hearing from her all together. After dating for nearly 6 years, Sayeko broke up with Riichi when she learned he was not actually quirkless; his quirk allowed him to manipulate the emotions of anyone he spoke to. Hizashi helped her to get a restraining order against Riichi and, without telling her, mentioned her situation to Principal Nezu. A few days later Nezu showed up at her apartment, offering her a position as science teacher at UA; taking the position would allow her the opportunity to move back to her home city without having to worry about losing her source of income while finding a new hero agency and conveniently, UA's defenses would ensure Riichi would be unable to bother her.
Return to UA
Sayeko was far more reserved and withdrawn during her couple years working at UA, especially where Aizawa was concerned as she didn't want to admit she found him attractive. She'd been burned by relationships too much and was honestly afraid of letting anyone else in. And so she actively pushed him away, which only led him to believe it was best to continue burying his feelings for her. By the time Midoriya and the rest of class 1-A started at UA, it was common knowledge that Sayeko and Aizawa seemingly disliked each other. Hizashi and Ashley knew the truth however, Sayeko had fallen head over heels for Aizawa but they were both too stubborn to admit their feelings.
The attack on the USJ and seeing how Aizawa had put his life on the line to protect his students lead Sayeko to put away her pride and deeply regret her attitude towards him. Once out of the hospital, she made a point of apologizing to him for the way she had acted but began avoiding him out of shame. Ashley and Hizashi teamed up to try to convince Sayeko and Aizawa, respectively, to just confess their feelings. It happened quite on accident though. After Aizawa was out of his casts, he and Sayeko both ended up going after the same villain. Unfortunately, Sayeko got caught off guard by another villain they hadn't known was there who had a sleep-inducing quirk. Aizawa captured the villains, but while he was checking to make sure Sayeko wasn't injured, she started sleep talking and confessed.

BNHA Fic: Blink! Ch. 4
Read Ch. 3 | Masterlist
This part takes place near the end of season 3 in the anime. Once we start getting into spoiler territory in the manga (since s4 isn’t out until October), I’ll put a nice warning :D
--
“Whoa, Ren-Ren. You look tense?” Seri pointed out.
“Do I?” she replied with clenched teeth. Her back was slumped over and her hands were balled up in fists. From an outsider’s point of view, she looked like she was looking for a fight.
The two walked with the masses for the opening ceremony. Tomoe’s voice could be heard not too far back from them.
“Hey, I was calling and—Whoa.”
Tomoe was taken aback by the look on Ren’s face. A light outline of dark circles could be seen under her puffy lower lids.
“Did somethin’ happen?” she asked with a tone of concern.
“Rumor mill says two students from 1-A got into a fight last night,” Ito caught up to their pace and interjected.
“Goddamn it, Ito. You jinxed me,” she huffed out.
“Hey, not my fault the first years hero’s course are so unruly,” the boy swiftly replied in an uppity manner. “And weren’t you supposed to rope them in when stuff like this happens? Some R.A. you–”
She immediately turned around and swiftly grabbed a fistful of Ito’s shirt by the collar. At this point, she was glaring at him with the intent to knock him out cold.
“If you wanna keep your tongue, I suggest you stop using it,” she growled out in a low voice and released him with a shove of her hand before walking away.
“It’s been a while since she’s been in this bad of a mood, huh,” Tomoe noted to Seri, watching their friend walk on ahead by herself.
As the opening ceremony went on, Principal Nezu briefly mentioned the recent change in the hero world with All-Might’s retirement and the elective hero internship before giving the mic to Hound dog-sensei. All he could get out were guttural growls and howls, to which Vlad-sensei had to translate; as expected, it was about Midoriya and Bakugou’s fight last night.
Letting out a heavy sigh, Ren face palmed with eyes on both her and class 1-A. But in reality, it’s not herself or the class she’s worried about, it’s him.
Filing back into their respective classroom, the day went by as usual. When lunch break came about, she told her friends to go on without her. She wanted to be alone for a bit.
“You lookin’ glum there, Ren-chan.”
The girl turned to see a boy’s face phased on the wall. She could only stare at him blankly.
“Mirio-senpai...” she tiredly greeted. “What are you doing?”
“Practicing my walls have eyes joke. Is it working?” the boy happily replied.
“… Not really.”
Tumblr media
Mirio’s face disappeared off of the wall and fully reemerged from the classroom through the door to the far right.
“Aw, man!” he sheepishly laughed aloud and came up to her. “Guess I gotta try harder.”
“It’s rare of you to be so free,” Ren casually brought up and placed her hands on her hips. “Don’t you have your internship today?”
“Sir told me to take a day off and go back tomorrow. It is my last year here, so I wanna make the best of it!” Mirio responded and casually flexed his right arm. “So why are you so glum?”
“I’m not.”
The tall blond boy bent down and started poking her on the cheek like a child.
“Yes you are. You’re not smiling.”
“I had a long night, is all,” Ren blurted out from annoyance, trying to swat his finger away in failure.
“Ah I heard you’re an R.A. for the first years’ hero course now,” he suddenly remembered and stopped poking her. “The two underclassmen who got into a fight were yours?”
“Unfortunately, yes.”
“Are they strong?”
Ren took in a breath to answer and paused. Her eyes slowly traveled up to Mirio’s usual unsuspecting happy and confident grin, catching onto his real intentions with that question. Her eyebrows immediately raised with suspicion.
“Mirio-senpai. No.”
“What?” he asked innocently.
“I mean it.” She warned again and emphasized it with a pointing finger. “Don’t.”
“I just wanna get to know them.”
“No.”
“But–”
“They’re not on campus, so you can’t see them anyway,” she blurted out to get him to stop talking.
“So that means they’re at the dorms,” he concluded with his trademark smile. “Okay, bye!”
Before she could stop the phasing senior, he ran down the hallway and turned the corner. She growled and gripped her hands to her hair out of frustration and yelled in English, “What the fuck is wrong with everyone today?!”
All could be heard were the dropping of some books further down the hall. Ren slowly turned to meet the shocked face of Present Mic.
“Ah! … S-Sorry, Mic-sensei,” she meekly apologized in Japanese.
“Holy… shit,” was all U.A.’s English teacher could say.
Never in her life had she felt so physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted. The moment class finished for the day, her entire form slumped over her desk. If she had the energy, she would teleport back to the dorms. She was just tired of everything and wanted to curl up in her bed. Heaving a drawn-out sigh, her classmates surrounding her slowly teetered away.
“Rough day for you,” Seri hushed out sympathetically and patted her elbow.
All Ren could do was sigh again. There were literally no words that could be said to comfort her. Dragging her sorry state off her desk, all she muttered out was, “I’m going to the library to study...”
“Damn…” Tomoe let slip. “She really is going through it.”
She could’ve gone back to the dorms and locked herself into her room to do work, but she knew herself best: no work would be done at all, knowing the two delinquents were there. En route to the building, a familiar man’s silhouette wearing a wraparound gray scarf around his upper body could be seen walking toward her.
“Takahiro, just the person I was looking for,” Aizawa greeted. “Come with me for a sec.”
Letting out a heavy breath through her nose, she knew she had no choice in the matter. The two spoke of nothing en route to his office; Ren knew what they were about to discuss isn’t for anyone else to hear. It was also one thing 1-A’s homeroom teacher appreciated her discreet nature. Naturally entering the now empty 1-A classroom, the door silently slid close by the teacher. The girl looked around with a small sense of nostalgia.
“Oh you replaced that seat back there,” Ren noted. “I remember when it got scorched by Hideyuki’s quirk.”
“Right, that happened...” Aizawa recalled, scratching this scruffy chin. “You already know what I want to talk about.”
“Bakugou and Midoriya’s fight at Ground Beta.”
“Can I ask where you were when it happened?”
Not wanting to lie to someone who trusts her, Ren told the truth on her whereabouts last night and summarized it for him.
“This could’ve been done within the dorms. So why didn’t you?” the brooding man asked, clearly annoyed.
“While that’s true, there was something there I needed to show Todoroki for perspective and to help better guide his way to being the hero he wants to be,” she defended.
Aizawa heavily sighed and scratched the back of his head, looking at his former student. Knowing vaguely of Todoroki’s hang-ups about his left side, he could give little sympathy for the road she took to resolve his problems. Quietly analyzing Ren, she looked like she barely had any sleep, obviously stressed about the whole situation with Midoriya and Bakugou. She was the type to take her responsibilities seriously.
As temperamental as she was today, judging by her friends and classmates reactions, he could only assume one thing on what she’s feeling: guilt.
“While I understand your frustration in not being able to help, I hope you won’t do something like this again,” he sighed. “The responsible parties already have their punishments and they’re reflecting on it. And honestly, I don’t think you could’ve done much either without taking down Bakugou.”
“His quirk is exceptionally powerful based on the videos I’ve seen from the Sports Festival. But if he is to be an efficient and reliable hero in the future, he needs to keep his temper and ego in check.”
Ren sighed heavily and threw her head back in exhaustion.
“Is this why you picked me to be their R.A., sensei?” she blurted out. “Other than making me confront close-range fighters to improve my offense?”
“That’s what you thought?” he answered with a tone of surprise. “Well… you’re not completely wrong.  The way you strategize fights can help the first years develop their quirks and abilities way beyond what they are now. And to improve your own fighting skills.”
“You think my current style isn’t suitable,” she assumed. “You having Snipe-sensei keep tabs on me?”
“It’s incomplete,” Aizawa corrected. “You’re only using the long range fighting you’re so used to doing. It makes you predictable. You’re copying Togata.”
“It’s only natural since we trained together last year.”
“But the difference is he’s physically stronger to pull off the execution; you let too many chances slip by playing the long game,” Aizawa argued. “It may work as a defensive tactic for rescue missions, but–”
“Depending on the situation, that’ll end up being my disadvantage with a villain,” Ren concluded. “Fair point.”
“Just keep that in mind when you have your next practical. You’re dismissed.”
As Ren grabbed her bag to head out, the black-haired teacher called for her once more.
“If you’re gonna go to your spot, at least do it during school hours. Otherwise, I’ll have to put you on house arrest too.”
“Yes sir,” she sighed and closed the door behind her.
What a day.
Three days passed since Beta-gate, as majority of U.A. students dubbed it, Midoriya was now a free boy. During that entire time, he had been lifting weights to keep his body in shape for One For All while fulfilling his cleaning duties and thinking about his written apology to Aizawa-sensei. But what went through his head on repeat were Ren-senpai’s words.
“You’re the ones who have to earn back their trust.”
Those words were like a dagger to his heart. Not only did he and Kacchan act selfishly, they basically threw everyone’s trust out the window. He realized just because he got a little better at controlling One For All, it didn’t mean he could get overconfident about it. It’s a borrowed power, after all. And it’s not like he’s gotten a full understanding of it yet either. He’s still in the midst of his second step. Not only did he need to get physically stronger, his emotional and mental state needed to evolve with it. And he was going to start with putting his all with his fellow classmates.
While he thought today was going to be another day of school, 1-A got the pleasant surprise of being greeted by the Big Three. Ren nearly choked on her lunch when she caught wind of it. As if by instinct, she looked up to see the defeated and sullen faces of the first years filing into the cafeteria.
Abandoning what’s left of her food, she jumped out from her seat and ran out, her friends calling after her. It didn’t take her long to find the Big Three sauntering down the hallway.
She immediately teleported from her spot and launched a surprise air attack at Mirio, her fist ready to connect to his face. Being the way he is, he caught it just in time as he was saying hi to someone else and then turned around to see a disgruntled pink haired girl dangling from his grip. She looked like a rag doll being held by a limb.
Hadou bursted out belly laughing; Amajiki simply stood stationary and face palmed.
“Did you see that?! Did you see that?!” she cried aloud in between her laughter, smacking Togata’s bicep in the process. “She was gonna punch you and you just took her down instantly!”
“You should’ve known this would happen, Takahiro,” Amajiki blurted out, staring at your vulnerable form. “His sixth sense is monstrous.”
“Hello, Tamaki-senpai. Nejire-senpai,” Ren flatly greeted, still soaking in the flavor of defeat while swinging loosely from Mirio’s grip. “You guys look well.”
“Ah, Ren-chan.” The tall blond boy lifted his arm up so he was face to face with her. “Why were you gonna punch me?”
The vicinity of his face was so close to hers, she couldn’t help but let out a light blush with widened eyes.
“Probably because you beat up the class she’s in charge of,” Nejire deduced. “And she wanted to ask you why you didn’t hold back.”
“Took the words right outta my mouth as usual, Nejire-senpai,” the hanging girl agreed. “Mirio-senpai, if you wouldn’t mind, I’m losing circulation to my arm...”
“Oh! Sorry, sorry.”
Mirio chuckled and set his small underclassman back down on the floor. Rubbing her right shoulder to regain mobility in her arm again, she looked away with a look of grimace. “And to answer your question, I was holding back. No one was unconscious.”
She tried forming words, but none seemed to have come out with the way her mouth was moving. The fact that he used ‘no one was unconscious’ to defend his actions was okay? In a normal situation, that wouldn’t fly. But this was Togata Mirio we’re talking about here. The man who can be the next number one hero.
And the only thing she managed to get out was, “So, why were you guys even at 1-A today?”
“They wanted us to explain the hero internship to them,” the tall boy responded. “Even though it’s not required for them to take it. You’ve got a lively bunch to take care of this year, don’tcha Ren-chan?”
“That’s putting it lightly,” she sighed heavily and put her palm to her face. Her expression right now made her look more like Amajiki.
“Hey, hey. Have you applied to any agencies yet, Ren-Ren?” Nejire asked in her usual perky manner. “If you haven’t, you can always come to mine! I can put in a good word for you.”
She shook her head.
“I wanna make my quirk stronger first before I apply,” she solemnly answered. “I’m no good the way I am right now.”
“Ren-chan, you should still apply,” Mirio firmly stated, making her look up at him. “The practical experience you get is how you’ll get stronger.”
“I haven’t even nailed down a good offensive style and–”
“Are those just excuses you’re making for yourself?”
His honest but harsh statement jolted her head up to meet his blue eyes. Togata Mirio’s determination and resolve always got to Ren. It was also those qualities of his that made him admirable in the eyes of his peers and pro-heroes; she was no exception to that charisma. All she could do is stay silent.
“You’re more than good enough. So why are you holding yourself back?” he gently asked and placed a hand on her shoulder. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re strong or weak.”
“You can’t be a hero in-training forever and hesitate, Takahiro,” Amajiki added bluntly. “Doing that in the field means death. You of all people should know that.”
“Tamaki, that’s going too far,” Mirio pointed out and turned back to her. “But you know he’s right, don’t you?”
All she could do was nod, staring down at the floor and trying not to cry.
“The truth is, I’m scared...” She slowly brought her arms up to hug herself, her shoulders shaking from what she’s about to say. “Scared of what I’ll do when I find him. I… I don’t know if I’ll be able to control myself.”
The three could only look at their junior, trying to find anything to say that’d be helpful. All Ren could do was let out a wry chuckle.
“I came here to punch Mirio-senpai and I get a lecture from the Big Three,” she sniffled and wiped away the crocodile tears before facing them again with a lopsided smile. “Looks like I still got some growing up to do. And I’ll take some time this week to look into some agencies to apply.”
The school bell chimed to indicate lunch was almost over.
“Ah, crap! I held you guys up! And I left my bag with Seri and Tomoe! Gotta go!”
As their junior ran off, Mirio couldn’t help but wonder: what did she mean by ‘controlling herself’?
“So I heard you guys met the Big Three today,” Ren casually brought up at dinner time. Tonight’s menu was oyakodon* and miso soup.
“We totally got our asses handed to us,” Kirishima groaned out and winced at the lingering pain on his torso from being punched by Togata. “It was so lame.”
“None of us could even react,” Tokoyami added with a sense of defeat. “We all went down before we knew it.”
“No one except Midoriya,” Todoroki commented and took a bite of his food.
“Seriously?! No way!” Sero exclaimed.
The hetero-chromatic boy turned to their R.A. and asked, “Have you fought any of the Big Three before, Ren-senpai?”
“Well...” she hesitated and swirled her soup with her chopsticks. “Define ‘fight.’”
“When two or more people engage in a physical altercation caused by–”
“I-I was kidding, Todo-kun,” Ren immediately stopped him. “I was being facetious.”
“Oh.”
“’Todo-kun’?” Ashido pointed out with a sly grin, nudging her with her elbow. “Aren’t you two getting cozy?”
“Anyway, back to your question,” Ren ignored the pink girl’s comment and turned back to Todoroki, to which she got annoyed at and fumed. “I technically did.”
“Technically?” Midoriya’s ears perked up. “What do you mean?”
She let out long breath and knew she had no other way in explaining this.
“So Mirio-senpai has this habit of only phasing parts of his body through a surface,” she began. “When he was practicing his quirk to get better at it, he started with his face.”
Midoriya’s face suddenly grimaced, remembering he did the same thing to him a few days ago when he was taking out the garbage.
“I was walking down the hallway one day and he did that to me as I was passing. For some reason, he thought saying hi like that would be fine. And he did...To my right fist...On his face. And I kinda, sorta ended up giving him a black eye he had to nurse for three days.”
Iida, Ochaco and Midoriya faces drained of blood and could respond with a look of horror, mouths ajar and all; Todoroki remained stoic upon the reveal.
“Just how hard did you hit?” the green haired boy blurted out.
“It was a ‘scared to death plus adrenaline pumping in my body’ strength, so… pretty hard.”
Between the four of them at the table, she was sure they made a mental note to not scare their R.A. As dinner ended and everyone cleaned up after themselves, Ren suddenly remembered something.
“Ah, Todoroki-kun, Bakugou-kun,” she called out, prompting the two boys to turn their heads. “Come by my room in half an hour.”
“Why do I haveta go with this half-and-half bastard?” the ash blond boy barked out.
“It’s about your provisional lessons, so please kindly tolerate his presence,” Ren replied with an acidic saccharine tone and a matching smile. “Unless you don’t wanna be heroes, that’s fine too.”
“Whatever,” Bakugou scoffed and made his way back to his room.
Tumblr media
With the day winding down, the R.A. sat at her desk, struggling with her Hero Law homework. No matter how many times she’s read the same passage, she couldn’t come up with a concrete way to explain the clause about full-fledged heroes turning vigilante. There were just too many loopholes!
Last time she turned in her assignment about the general dos and do nots of a hero within the word of law, she got chewed out for being too far-fetched with her theory of ‘in the event police are indisposed, the hero can take the law into their own hands and deliver justice.’
Groaning, Ren slumped over her desk and bumped her forehead at the edge of it. A soft rap at the door roused her back up and looked at her clock; it was time for the meeting. Prompting the person to enter, the door opened to show both boys showed up on time. This was the first time Bakugou had seen her room, second for Todoroki.
It was dimly lit with smaller and softer lights glowing from her desk and the shelf by her bed. Piles of school books stacked neatly on her desk with an open notebook with scribbled notes. Floating wooden shelves hung above her desk, holding random figurines, photos and books. Soft instrumental music could be heard playing from the laptop perched on top of an aluminum stand. A small, collapsible floor table separated the three.
She stood from her seat and turned on the main light with a pulling line. The ceiling lamp flickered on, making her eyes flinch from the sudden onslaught of brightness to her orbs and blinked a few times to readjust. Prompting the two boys to sit on the floor, she turned the music off and grabbed some papers from her desk before sitting down across from them.
“Aizawa-sensei gave me a copy of your evaluations from the exam,” she stated. “I’m not gonna repeat what’s already been said, so I want you two to tell me what you think you did right and wrong on and what you plan to do to improve on your shortcomings.”
Todoroki looked pensive while Bakugou had his arms cross, looking agitated as usual. The silence was thick and super uncomfortable.
“O...kay, I guess we’ll do this the hard way,” she sighed. “Bakugou-kun, you had zero compassion during the rescue phase of the test. Not only did you not reassure victims, your aggression towards them was what led you to failing. I get all you wanna do is blow shit up and beat up villains, but there’s a time and place for that.”
“That phase was fuckin’ garbage!” he huffed out and slammed his fist on the table. “If it weren’t for that, I would’ve gotten my license already.”
“But you didn’t, so here we are,” she pointed out tersely. “Let me ask you this: what if your parents were in that disaster zone? Would you still say the same thing?”
Her words suddenly made him look up straight up with widened crimson eyes, her expression unchanging. His anger was slowly stirring his insides. A vein could be seen slowly protruding from his temple.
“Look, you’re obviously not an idiot, but if you can’t do a simple search and rescue with a team, then what kind of hero would you be in the eyes of citizens?” she questioned. “You already have a reputation around U.A. for your shitty attitude and I’d like for that to not go beyond these walls for your career’s sake.”
The usual loud and proud boy was now quiet and reflective; his usual scowling lips formed a small pout. Thinking back on his internship with Best Jeanist and how everyone else had gotten further than him during that one week, he knew he had to change his ways; it was his fragile ego that veiled his eyes and heart from accepting that part about him, the part that’s awkward with approaching things in a non-violent way.
Being used to the status quo, things that made him step out of his comfort zone really scared him. He doesn’t like being taken for a fool or messing things up.
Bakugou Katsuki doesn’t do either one of those options.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean for that to come off lecture-y,” Ren let a short breath out of her nose and rested her arms on the table. “Just… keep that in mind and make baby steps, okay?”
“… Fine,” he muttered, not making eye contact with her and rubbed the back of his neck.
Shocked at his sudden change in demeanor, she quietly thanked him for listening before turning her attention to Todoroki.
“Todoroki-kun, you’re already aware of where you went wrong...”
The bi-coloured hair boy nodded and stared at a random spot on the table, unable to look at her directly.
“Because of my inability to cooperate with Inasa from Shiketsu due to personal reasons, we put the disaster victims and other heroes in jeopardy with our quirks,” he confessed. “Had I realized this sooner and worked with him, we could’ve suppressed the villains and then assist with evacuating the rest of the injured much more efficiently. I will do my best in remedying this during the supplementary classes and work on building a better relationship with everyone. I’ll definitely get my license this time.”
“That’s the spirit,” Ren encouraged with a small smile. “Don’t get me wrong: you’re both capable heroes. You two have really strong, compatible quirks with your bodies and you have full awareness of its power and limitations. But. You need to learn to rely on others,” she emphasized the last sentence.
“There’s only so much you can do by yourself. Everyone thinks heroes are all about the one-on-ones, flashy moves and taking down the bad guys with it. That’s not what makes a hero; they’re heroes because they also do the little things that make a bigger impact.”
The two boys listened intently to their R.A.’s constructive criticism, absorbing what knowledge she could bestow upon them. Even though she was only a year older, the words she spoke made her sound like a sage who’s trained many heroes before them. The clacking of Ren straightening the stack of paper in her hand brought his attention back to the present.
“Okay, I think we’ve covered everything,” she finalized. “Aizawa-sensei just wants me to do small follow ups with you two after each class. Just come on by whenever you can for that.”
Bakugou and Todoroki nodded and stood up, excusing themselves out of the room. The moment her door click closed, she let out a long sigh and leaned back.
“That was easier than picking an agency to intern at,” she said to herself aloud.

(Okay just to get this out of the way: I’ve only ever seen your blog on mobile so now that I’m actually seeing it on my laptop…wow. Like whoa. WOW. I love your theme/background so much…okay it’s out of my system now.)
…For a hot minute I got so distracted by how pretty your theme is I forgot the questions I had about Tokage (mostly about his Quirk) BUT I HAVE ‘EM NOW:
Oh thank you for sending me this! This was a lot of fun to answer btw!
About his Quirk:
1. Considering his Quirk, which side of his family did he inherit it from, mom or dad (like with Asui)? Or is it one of those Quirks that mutated and subsequently turned out to be unrelated (like with Eri’s Rewind)?
Shino got his ability from his Grandfather on his mother’s side. He was born with scales like his own but the problem here is his Grandfather could turn his Quirk off, he can’t so there was some form of mutation as DNA was transferred. His mother could spit venom, his father has a mil Quirk which was hyper sensitive eyesight.
2. Does he get more sluggish in the winter, like is there a risk of hibernating like with Asui?
A mild risk but he doesn’t hibernate. He stays in the station more often in the winter but yes, cold is a weakness to him, it makes his scales brittle as well.
3. We know he has night vision, so what is his vision like during the day? Are the colors brighter? Are sunny days a little painful for him, enough to keep several pairs of sunglasses? Or is it just normal like everyone else?
Normal eyesight in the day, the sun doesn’t affect him.
4. Does he have a three-chambered heart?
Yes.
5. Incoming stupid question for laughs: does he shed his skin? (And just how annoying is it?)
Lol, no. He loses scales but thats only if they’re damaged.
6. Does his Quirk affect his strength? Like, does it make him stronger?
No.
7. About his venom making skin contact and burning, is it strong enough to leave fourth-degree burns?
No.
8. Is his core temperature less stable (compared to the average Quirkless person)?
Yes. He hovers close to a human temperature though.
9. Is respiratory system also affected, like does he have better lung capacity (compared to the average Quirkless person)?
No.
10. How strong is his sense of smell? (If it’s strong enough then I can only imagine air pollution being hell for him.)
His smell isn’t fully hyper sensitive like a snake would be, but he can still pick up scents better than the average joe.
About the Workplace (and what he does):
1. What was going on with Tokage in the aftermath of the USJ incident?
Chaos. He ha purposed stricter rules for the school to follow and for their parents. Ever since he’s been capturing the stranglers of the incident an putting them through rigorous interrogations for the whereabouts of the LoV.
2. What were his thoughts about U.A. going through with the Sports Festival, considering what happened at the USJ?
He hated it. He warned Nezu of the precautions but of course they didn’t listen.
3. Did he ignore the Sports Festival broadcast? Or was he watching and did he take notice of Midoriya and Todoroki’s battle (hence any questions about the relationship between the former and All Might)?
Yes. Yes and yes. He takes great intrest in Deku.
4. Does he have an idea that something completely different went down with Stain’s arrest? Did he catch Endeavor showing any signs in behavior that suggested otherwise, and what would Tokage have done if he found out?
Oh for sure. Though he knows the other Chief well, he knows his dogshit better than anyone….haha get it? But yes. He knows it’‘s not the truth. He would have done the same to be honest.
5. Incoming really nasty question: the motives behind Bakugou’s kidnapping are fairly obvious, but while getting his coffee to prepare for the stress coming soon, he overhears an old middle school classmate of Bakugou’s ranting to a friend about how Bakugou got into U.A. despite “crossing a line” while he bullied Midoriya. After the friend asks about what Bakugou said, the person recites the “swan dive” comment (I tried to type it out but it was really painful to) and actually did want to report it to the faculty and the police, but was afraid of what Bakugou would do to them which, given what his Quirk and attitude are like, isn’t all surprising. Now having overheard and knowing all of this, how would Tokage act? (You can omit this question if you want to.)
You can bet your ass he’s paying a visit to the school and his parents after the ordeal.
6. How many men did he lose at Kamino?
9
7. Considering Todoroki used his ice, it would be at least near impossible to not notice the students’ presence during the rescue op at Kamino, so how did the police handle that? Or were they unable to since the kids didn’t engage in combat with any of the villains?
Unless they engaged, Shino can’t do anything but he did tell Endeavor.
8. Given Toga Himiko’s Quirk, background and connection to the League of Villains, would you say that Tokage and his men are more concerned with tracking down and arresting her than Shigaraki to prevent any more impersonations and make it easier to keep track of who is who? (Imagine Toga killing and impersonating one of his own men, especially a rookie with a worried mother…yikes.)
He’s concerned abaut taking her down and Twice, really.
9. How involved (to an extent) was he in the investigation on Overhaul and the anti-Quirk bullets?
Not by much since it wasn’t in his jurisdiction.
10. Did he personally know Sir Nighteye? If yes, how he did take the news of Nighteye’s death?
Tokage knew Nighteye, yes. They had opposing views on heroes half the time but they respected one another as allies. He was greatly affected by his death, even paying him tribute by putting flowers at his gravesight.
11. What was happening with Tokage and his men in the aftermath of the attack on Overhaul as he was being transported?
A whole lot of paperwork…
12. Has he met Eri in person for questioning?
No.
13. Does he disagree with U.A. taking custody over Eri, especially in light of past incidents with their security measures?
Oh for sure, but the trusts Aizawa so he’ll let her stay….or now.
14. Considering Gentle/Tobita’s antics, what was Tokage’s attitude towards the case? Hostility or just plain apathy with a measure of not taking him seriously? (Like “*Siiiiiiigh* It’s this guy…alright, let’s bring him in and get this over with.”)
He felt kinda bad for the guy? He felt pity for this pathetic dud more or less so. Like he knew he wasn’t a bad guy. He’d dealt with bad men all his life so he took it seriously but didn’t break the book over his head either.
15. What was police training like for him?
Pretty tough, but he was determined to show that h was just as good as any hero.
16. Have there ever been attempts on Tokage’s life before, given that he’s Chief?
Yes, many actually. If he dies it’ll send chaos through the city. He’s a skilled fighter for this exact reason.
17. If he knew one of his men has a target on their back, does he offer to walk them home? Or does he walk them home whether or not they want him to, no questions asked?
Please, they’re getting a ride home with three escorts to boot with him.
About his Daily Life:
1. What are mornings like? Does he sometimes get his coffee alongside coworkers and colleagues?
He tends to like being alone. He’s reclusive and a loner. He doesn’t like people but man does he love cats.
2. What is a non-hectic/“quiet” day like for him at the station? Just constant paperwork?
Paperwork, coffee and classic music playing in the background.
3. For laughs: has he ever been in a situation where he runs into someone he’s seen on television/met in the field (like if he runs into one of the more meek and nicer U.A. students from the hero course, like Midoriya or Iida; or a Pro Hero like Ingenium) a place like a grocery store, and not realize it until he gets a better look at them? How awkward would/does it get?
Oh god, that happened once with the Todoroki clan. He was quickly power walking the other way with his cart full of coffee in his pajama sweats an his messy hair.
4. What does he do after work? Does he sometimes wander off or does he always go straight home?
Home or to a cafe to read while drinking coffee
5. And finally, considering the shit he’s witnessed and been through, has he ever considered tai chi and/or yoga?
He does tai chi every other weekend in the park.

My My Hero OC :)
Open to opinions my loves
Basic Info
Name: Ariella Sintora
Nicknames/Aliases: she mostly goes by Ella. Ari and Ariel are also used a lot. In class most of the kids refer to her as Miss Ella or Miss Sintora
Gender: Female with She Her pronouns
Age: Ella is 27 years old
Birthday: November 13th
Sexuality: Ella is Pansexual, she is attracted to all genders/nongenders
Height: 5 foot 4 inches tall
Weight: 127lbs
Hair Color: her hair is naturally Brunette, but Ella likes to dye her hair. Right now it is a bright red
Eye Color: candy apple green
Skin Color: light tan
Looks: [see picture]
Occupation: Ella is finishing up a teaching degree and is interning at UA as a Teachers Assistant in class 1A
Relationships
Parent(s): Marcus and Bethany Sintora
Sibling(s): Ella is an only child
Friend(s): Ella is close friends with Midnight and a woman with a flower controlling quirk named Kori. Kori is a guidance counselor at UA. She is also close to Aizawa and Mic.
Romantic Interest(s): Ella has a bit of a crush on Aizawa. He tends to keep her in check by making sure she keeps the limitations of her quirk in mind. (More on that in the power section) she met him through her teaching program when she first started doing lessons in classes at the start of her degree. When it came time for her internship, it wasn’t hard to decide who she would student teach for. Ella would describe her relationship with him as professional, but she does have what I would describe as a school girl crush on him. Most people wouldn’t be shocked to find out that she likes him.
Pet(s): Ella has a cat named Sausage Link
Hero/Villain Details
Hero/Villain Name: Ella’s hero name is Siren
Costume:I’ll include a picture. However in the picture make the main color blue and the accents purple. Any metal on the costume is gold
Motivations: Ella wanted to become a her to make the most of herself. She knew she eventually wanted to train young heroes, so when being a Pro fell through, she went for a teaching degree
Quirk: Ella calls her quirk Siren Song
Abilities: Her quirk is similar to Mic’s. She basically emits sonic bursts of very high frequencies from her vocal cords and can also manipulate those frequencies to create different reactions in the brain.
Moves: lullaby: she manipulates her voice in a specific way to have the brain basically put itself to sleep. Won’t work if a person knows what she’s doing. Tweety Bird: she basically sends out a very loud short whistle that, when the frequency is matched to the object she is aiming at, can destroy it. Kind of like singing so loud you shatter glass.
Weaknesses: the main weakness Ella has with her quirk is that her body can’t handle it. Aoyama gets stomach pain if he uses his quirk for too long or too much. Ella is a bit similar. She can easily make someone’s brain have an aneurysm or just plain rupture it. She can do the same to herself if she emits frequencies too high, too long or too many times in a short period. She starts to bleed from her nose ears and mouth then passes out because her brain can’t handle her own sound waves. She almost killed herself when she was doing her licensing exam.
Accessories: she was convinced by the TA of her class(I’m assuming every teacher at UA had to do the same thing she is doing with being a TA/Student teacher before becoming an actual teacher so to make things convenient, lets say that TA was Aizawa) to have the support class make her a limiter first her quirk. It’s almost like when you change the parental settings on your kids phone to keep them from making the volume too loud. She basically had them design that and it sits as a choker on her neck. She can still use it but she sticks to whistling and manipulating the lower frequencies. No screaming or yelling.
Other Abilities: like a lot of heroes, Ella is skilled with combat and acrobatics. Her quirk is a better long range kind of quirk, so she tended to focus on fighting and other combat skills to strengthen her body and tactile fighting to strengthen her mind.
Statistics
[They're graded 1 to 5, 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. try to have your OC have some weaknesses, let's say that I have a Hero OC that has a 5 in Power and 4 in Speed, to keep it even I'll give him a 1 in Technique while having Cooperativeness and Intelligence at 3 or 2, he'll have his strengths but he'll also have his weaknesses as well and that's important for a well-balanced character] Power: 4/5 Speed: 3/5 Technique: 5/5 Intelligence: 4/5 Cooperativeness: 3/5
Personality
Her personality is kinda snippy and bratty teasing. She really cares for people And doesn’t like to show weakness so she kinda hides those insecurities with snark. She’s pretty darn extroverted and sometimes has to be reminded that she can’t go all out with her quirk and fighting. But she truly is a sweet loving person who holds a lot back and tends to burry bad feelings and thoughts about people. She tends to see the best in everyone and tries to pull that out and share it with that person. Ella also is one to give way too many second chances. It’s kind of easy to take advantage of he, so her friends try to kind of keep an eye on her in that regard. She can be motivational and uplifting when she wants to, especially with her students, but then it’s back to snarky Ella. She is very stubborn and doesn’t like to be told no or hold back. It’s almost like she feels like she has something to prove to everyone. To prove that she’s not weak or to prove that she can do it. She will over exert herself, especially if someone is in danger. She cares more about other peoples safety than she does about her own. It’s not that she doesn’t have any self preservation or care for herself. She does. That just goes out the window if her students or anyone she cares about is in danger. She doesn’t always listen to what the people in charge tell her, especially her friends and teachers above her. If Aizawa, All Might, midnight or Mic tell her to go left she goes right. She does have a very high respect for Principal Nezu however. She will do what he asks when he asks no questions.

Noooooo but what's the UA staff and kids reactions to seeing nomuzawa? Like my heart low-key is breaking for them bc the teacher that just fought for them, with no regard to his own safety, was not only taken from them after stalling long enough for backup, but now he's a nomu and fighting them? And mic? Midnight? Allmight? Ughhhhhhh????!!! (But no o love this au so so much lmao)
I'm saving the actual Nomu reveal and reactions to it for later once I decide on a storytelling format but here are some initial reactions to the abduction
all of the students naturally share some level of guilt, even though they only knew Aizawa for a handful of days. nature of heroes in training and good hearts, plus, yeah, they watched this man sacrifice himself for their safety. this version of the event definitely impacts them harder than it does in canon. Not quite their Oboro moment but boy it's the closest so far any have had
Midoriya is Midoriya and is smart enough to know that in the end his (lack of) ability would never have been able to change the end result but still lets the failure riddle him for the rest of his life. Definitely still in crying mode this early on
Bakugou is left shell-shocked by this, possibly to an overreaction. As a tactician he also knows deep down he did his best (as a kid that has been in hero school for literally just a few days) but isn't willing to accept it. He should have been able to do something more. But we all know Bakugou and this is just fuel on the fire
All Might is understandably guilt-ridden as well, since he's "never failed to save someone after arriving", but the situation isn't as straightforward as one would think. It's one thing if a student is hurt/killed/taken but a pro is another, and Aizawa knew what he was getting into by jumping into a 1 v 40 combat scenario. That's just what pros sign up for. All Might is ready to leap into action the moment those investigating need assistance or have a location and certainly does some of his own investigating on the side as time allows
Thirteen feels frustration in herself initially but is able to take solace in the fact that she and Aizawa did what they were meant to do, and knows that Aizawa would be feeling the exact same way
Nezu makes only a single public statement out of respect for Aizawa's dislike of his name in the press, it's short and sweet and truthfully paints Aizawa as a hero that did his job and saved the lives of 20 students. He does commit the school's resources to assisting authorities in recovering the teacher but unfortunately that's where it ends since he needs to focus on the safety of the students as priority and UA can't just go around playing police (until the government makes them lmao)
Midnight was among the majority of the responding faculty that decided to arrive together in a show of power and so didn't witness Aizawa being taken, but is understandably very upset that one of her remaining high school friends is now gone. She's able to steady herself as a rock for Mic out of necessity (unhealthily suppressing her own more-volatile reaction for his sake) and is really the only reason Mic didn't just up and run out to do something unhelpful and reckless. In the hours after the event she cannot leave his side for fear of him running off
Mic is, naturally, the worst impacted. He refuses to wait for the teachers to gather into a group and ran in after All Might but before the rest, and so was the only pro/faculty to get a front-row seat to the abduction as All Might was distracted by the Nomu. He immediately wants to go guns-blazing but without any hint as to where Aizawa was taken or what they plan to do with him, is forced to sit by and wait. He ends up walking away from the school out of frustration after about a month without answers, but no one blames him and they're honestly just shocked he had the self-control to wait that long
