I go home and tell my dad I thought his review of 2x04-07 was hilarious. I recount it for my mom who wasn't on the text. my mom then looks at me brightly and says:

Half meta, half ramble

Not entirely sure where this post is going, tbh... Let's find out, eh?

Sooo... I was browsing the Final Fantasy wiki (as one does) and the article for Tantarian (an optional/missable boss in FF9) caught my attention. Y'see, Tantarian is a demon found in a library, hiding in a possessed book -- and is based on the Great Duke of Hell, Dantalion (or Dantalian, the spelling can be inconsistent). How the ever-loving wossname, I hear you cry, does this relate to Good Omens????

Let's take a closer look! (this got longer than I anticipated, hence the cut)

From the Wikipedia article 'List of demons in the Ars Goetia':

"The Seventy-first Spirit is Dantalion. He is a Duke Great and Mighty, appearing in the Form of a Man with many Countenances, all Men's and Women's Faces; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one; for he knoweth the Thoughts of all Men and Women, and can change them at his Will. He can cause Love, and show the Similitude of any person, and show the same by a Vision, let them be in what part of the World they Will."

Bolded details:

"Duke Great and Mighty" -- evocative of the whole "Thin Dark Duke" thing <3

" [...] he hath a Book in his right hand." -- pretty obvious GO connection there!

(best 'Azzy+book(s)' gif I could find quickly...although on a second look, this might well be from the body swap bit in S1 XD Mr Sheen, you ludicrously talented chaos gremlin, you <3 )

(Ok, this one's definitely Crowley XD)

Mah point is dolphins they both match up to the book thing!

"His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences [...]" -- leaning slightly more towards a Crowley parallel here, with the apple thing partly symbolising intellectual curiosity (essential part of arts and sciences!), but Aziraphale giving away the flaming sword would've helped humanity figure things out in that area as well (even if indirectly)

"[...] knoweth the Thoughts of all Men and Women, and can change them at his Will [...]" -- mind-reading! Seems to be sliiiiiightly more of a demon thing from what we've seen (e.g. "Nina: It's like you've seen into my secret soul. Crowley: Yeah, it's a knack.", Shax picking at insecurities in the bookshop battle), but both the Ineffables have directly influenced human minds on screen (e.g. Sitis, the Shopkeepers' Ball)

"[...] can cause Love [...]" -- well, they certainly tried! Operation: Shop Lesbians :D

"[...] show the Similitude of any person [...]" -- mostly seen with the body swap bit so far (where A+C are concerned), but given that for angels and demons, size and shape are merely options, and Beelzebub canonically changed their face, it's not outwith the bounds of possibility that the Ineffable Husbands could disguise themselves as people other than each other (if that makes sense)(and assuming they'd *want* to, of course)

Plus, if you go with the 'Dantalion' spelling, the last four letters form the word 'lion', which is a motif the show ties pretty strongly to Aziraphale via the signet ring on his right hand. Fierce protector angel! <3

Plus plus, from what I've been able to gather, Dantalion is supposed to be one of the more benevolently-inclined Goetic demons -- both the Ineffables are pretty dang benevolent!

The point I'm stumbling towards (stone-cold sober, but with about 3,000,000 on the ND Scoville scale) is that Dantalian/Dantalion has some pretty interesting parallels to both the Ineffable Husbands and so, within the GO verse, could be either another alias of Crowley's or a name Aziraphale might take if he Fell (AU fic writers, start your engines!) :D

As a small bonus, I saw the name 'Shax' mentioned in the list of Marquises of Hell!

The characteristics given for the Goetic Shax don't really match up to TV!Shax that I can tell, apart from the stork symbolism and the "hoarse but subtle voice" (and maaaybe 'is thought to be faithful and obedient, but is a great liar'), but given all the other Goetic parallels, it wouldn't surprise me to see elements of the Goetic description popping up in Shax's S3 arc -- likely in unexpected ways!

it’s been a while back so i’m w more song analysis!! this is too long i’m warning u now. in fact this might not even be readable im so sorry it’s just. so much rambling 😭

when memories snow (more mitski mm also i got tickets for her tour and i will not shut up ab it!!! she’s so cool!!!!!!!) is incredibly tim coded. the very sinister chords at the chorus, really makes you *feel* him spiralling - and the LYRICS ugh very ‘i’m trying to ignore/suppress my memories but they keep coming back against my will’ slash ‘bottling up all my feelings and forging on with my work. pretending they don’t exist’

hate yourself by tv girl is very nina x kate (in the sense of kate watching nina destroy herself for a man who does not even like her) ough. ‘i think you’d fall in love with anyone who fell in love with you / and they frequently do’ BC KATE DID!! kate fell in love with her!! also ‘i’ll just wait til those arms belong to me’ is so subtly manipulative which is very. yeah. kate’s definitely not perfect and i wouldn’t put her above being like that if she really wanted to. + the deceptively happy instrumental with vaguely dark lyrics = nina being overly outgoing and social to make up for the fact that her mental state is in absolute shambles (poor bby)

the wolf by siamés is both tim and brian but i think leans more brian (what is it with this man that makes me think of ‘walking music’. ykwim? the chain, the wolf, house of the rising sun all remind me of him. all very slow-threatening-determined-walk songs) once again, driving beat, heavy bassline. (i play bass guitar so i love a song w an interesting bass part) i think shows resilience as well as grounding - imo he’s always been one of the more mature / level-headed creeps, to the point he’s very self aware. this man knows exactly what he’s doing at all times. ‘somewhere far away i can hear your call’ even in the future when he thinks he’s escaped from slender he knows deep down he’ll never be truly free…. yes ok

keep myself alive by get scared for jane. she’s so angry - AS SHE SHOULD BE and i feel it’s just a audible version of her rage. ‘i just wanna leave this place behind / everytime i see your face in mine’ because her and jeff have the same burned face thing going on…….. ough. she can never escape from the man who ruined her life. the guitar shifting from this melancholy, reverb-y tone in the verses to the loud distortion in the chorus reflecting her mood shifting from self-pity to raw anger

when memories snow for tim is soooo real. i associate him with a longing for life before slendy, while also repressing it cuz it hurts knowing itll never ever come back. going to bars, hanging out in his friends apartments, going to class, late night driving... "I shovel all those memories, clear the path to drive to the store" i think even the imagery of him shoveling snow out of a driveway gives off that sort of strong, cold idea of him. and 'drive to the store' obv being...proxy work... SO SAD

ALSO FUCK NINAKATE MENTION IM IN TEARS ok listen. theyre both really bad. and i super agree that kate might be a bit deceptive and manipulative (intentionally or not) cuz she wants nina to completely remove jeff and take his place (NOT HIS ROLE, just his place in ninas arms). also "how long will it take before you start to hate yourself and go straight to the arms of someone else" i think its undeniable that ninas obsession with romance is related to her own self image, and kate doesnt really like herself that much either. "im not saying that you love me, im not saying anything" OHH BUT SHE WANTS NINA SOOO BAD... man.

also im absolutely in love with how you take the sound itself into account, not just lyrics. the way you explain the wolf connecting to brians determination, reslience, and grounding presense is SOOO PERFECT and i can see it in the first few lyrics as well. the also "sneaking in the pain, every truth becomes lie / i wont trust myself once i hear your call" THATS TIM AND BRIAN COME ON GUYS DO YOU HEAR THIS

also i love keep myself alive. i heavily agree she has every right to be angry, and thats a core part of her character - rage, grief, strength. "to sleep i of course think i'm stronger now / to sleep i gotta catch myself" im crying. the sleep menton + she feels alone. she has a support system, a literal wife, but she still holds all of her grief on her own shoulders. who the fuck else can relate to being violently stalked for months, walking in on your parents being tortured together, being attacked, nearly burnt alive, then LOSING your parents? also "how could this dark cloud make me stronger now" i think a lot of people would have told her that her experience made her a survivor and made her strong and whatnot. but i dont think she feels that way. i think she feels like a victim, she feels tortured, she feels like that same little girl who'd sleep in her parents bed after a nightmare - but this isnt a nightmare she can wake up from. her parents bed burnt to ashes. there is relief in just letting yourself grieve and hurt - but she's so beyond focused on being strong. and it doesnt make sense to her. doesnt make sense how she can be strong after all of that . but she is, cuz she has to be

When it comes to interests, I’m into a bunch of games and tv shows, but I also draw a lot! Sometimes I do digital art, but I can’t draw on paper for shit :(. I like taking occasional walks on random days, just to be able to get out of the house and do something. One of those “something”’s being socializing! I’m an ambivert, so to me, socialization is a bit of an off/on thing. But on the days I feel like talking to people, I love meeting new people! Preferably someone with a lot of the same interests as me! The one thing I love the most though, is music! I like listening to Lumi Athena, Cade Clair, Luci4, D3r, and surprisingly, Doja Cat. Hyperpop, pop, and breakcore music are my favs(i.e. Various Types of Ads, Smoke it off, On the floor). I also really like physical touch, though! Which is actually my love language; physical touch.

Extra that I forgot to include: I talk a lot, but I’ll definitely be quiet if asked! Sometimes i’ll just ramble on about whatever I’m talking about nonstop, but once it gets to be to much for someone, i’m fine with sitting in silence!

i think nina would be able to match your energy really well! she's definitely a bit more on the extroverted end of things, but she does have her days where she would rather have limited to no contact with people unless she's really comfortable with someone. that someone being you! she could never grow tired of your company. honestly, she's actually worried that you'll grow tired of her sooner or later.

and you two share similar interests!

she plays video games, typically games like mass effect and bg3. she likes getting attached to characters and really enjoys being able to romance her faves as well. honestly, you'll probably catch her at five in the morning bawling her eyes out after seeing garrus and shepard say their final goodbyes in me3.

she also draws too, and she's pretty damn good at it. she draws mostly on paper since that's what she's best at, but she's pretty decent with a tablet as well. you may even catch her drawing with her finger on her phone, because she's also good at that. she doesn't take drawing too seriously though, most of it consists of doodles and random things that come to mind. she just has so many abandoned wips.

as for music, you two are definitely similar in that aspect as well. nina adores hyperpop and breakcore. she also dabbles a bit in alt/indie and rock. she's a major fan of poppy! big fan of nightcore as well. nightcore songs are her jam and she has an entire playlist on youtube dedicated to all of her favorites. and she'll totally make you a playlist! two, actually. a sappy love playlist for expressing her feelings, and a playlist full of songs she thinks you would enjoy.

she can listen to you talk all day, no joke. she also has a habit of rambling, so you two could somehow hold a conversation with each other about two vastly different topics. there is rarely a time when she'll ask you to be quiet, though she does enjoy the quiet moments she spends with you as well.

will 100% ask to do your hair and makeup if you're comfortable with that type of stuff. might even take you out shopping for cute outfits as well if that's your jam. shopping is a fun pass time for her, and she'd love to include you in it.

and she'll always remind you that she cares about you, and she says the sweetest things to you because she finds that she can best express her feelings through her own words, and the words in songs.

Oh gosh, here come the rambles - alright, so, being chronically ill, homebound a chunk of the year (and so many appointments it would make your head spin), and being NDcoded, having pocket friends I can find throughout fandom spaces has significantly changed and improved my extroverted depleted tanks from the last like decade. For me, fandom is creativity, exploring my own personhood through that process, and connecting with people I might not have ever found any other way - and if I'm lucky enough, I find some fellow weirdo besties to just be weird with in between errands and apps. I'm grateful for my pocket friends, and that fandom helped me find them 🫂❤️

after however many years I FINALLY CAUGHT UP on all episodes of The Vampire Diaries, and I saved my rambly opinions for the tags on this one line post, but then stupid tumblr stupidly cut me off so here I am, writing an actual post, mostly out of spite.

First and foremost, - I am still not over how much of a Delena person AND Damon Truther I have become over this rewatch and catch up, I was such a Stelena girl way back when. God knows what that says about the difference between teenage me and adult me...

- It’s stupid hard to finish off a TV Show well, especially when you have limited episodes left and the main character has left 2 seasons ago, but they actually did a surprisingly decent job. 8/10 I would say.

Here’s where my issues are though.

- John Gilbert cameo so unnecessary, I hated him, I still hate him, he doesn’t deserve redemption, don’t care.

Actually, I am mostly just mad at the John Gilbert thing, don’t really care about anything else dfghj.

No, okay, hang on, so.

- Grayson Gilbert, similar vibes, don’t care what kind of father he was, dude TORTURED people in his basement for years, do not care for him, even if it’s nice that Elena got reunited with her parents in death, full circle blah blah blah.

- We never got to see ANY glimpse of Damon being human, which would have been so good and such a beautiful moment, especially with them having kids or something, it would have been The Perfect Way to honour Stefan’s sacrifice for him, so a bit mad at that.

- They really did Nina dirty with some of those wigs not gonna lie.

- Speaking of Nina, I adore her for even coming back for the last episode, it’s so cool of her <3 Very appreciative of that, because it would have really sucked to not have her for the ending. On the other hand I wish this had been a longer season, so they could have introduced the idea of Katherine coming back sooner, like a looming threat, her sudden appearance without prior mention or clues felt rushed as fuck.

- Related to this, the last season was a tad bit too dark and suffer-y for my tastes (granted I binged it, which this show was NOT made for AT ALL - too busy, too many storylines, too heavy, marvellous cliff-hangers, needs to settle in for enjoyment) and I wish it had more filler type, funny episodes or even moments. They could have had so much more fun with Damon and Stefan teaming up, being bad guys, that was such a good set up, didn’t see nearly enough of it. Definitely not enough Damon and Bonnie bonding and best friending either, they established their relationship SO beautifully with prison world and then her not forgiving him, and then just spat all over that and swapped it for Enzo stuff. Which.

- Look, I love Enzo. A lot. But this whole romance thing with Bonnie came out of nowhere for me, and I never really warmed up to it. I don’t know if it’s because of the lack of Jeremy closure (MY HEART STILL ACHES) or what, but ugh. I wish, they’d done more Bonnie and Damon bonding, through which we could have had more Damon and Enzo bonding (a big thing for me, a very very big thing for me) and then through all that, I could have got more into the whole Benzo thing. But whatever, she’s travelling, he’s ghosting her, all good, happy for them.

- Speaking of friendship neglect - really could have used more Damon helping Alaric with the girls moments, being DEFENSIVE AS FUCK of the girls, because they are his best friend’s kids. Similarly, I would have loved more Damon and Caroline bonding over their love of Stefan and/or Bonnie moments. And I know there was a bit of that, but would have loved more.

- Tyler. Ugh. I was never fond of Tyler. I think I just never forgave him the outright fucking attempted rape of Vicki in the very first episode. Like I appreciated some of his character development and his storylines, and his whole thing with Liv killing for him, then him killing Liv, that was actually great writing. His death by Damon felt very cheap though, not enough consequences, not enough anything. It just kinda felt pointless. And then he finds peace, with Vicki, I guess? Or just watching Matt get his bench, while Vicki is standing in the vicinity? Dunno. Like I feel like it might have been an actor / show thing, and if it was I hope Michael Trevino was at least satisfied with that ending? I hope? I guess, despite my dislike for him, Tyler’s ending deserved better?

- Obviously all the cheesy parts were sufficiently cheesy, which we all hate, but TV writers get emotional too, I’m sure. And like, I did cry, so there is that. I teared up fairly early on I think, but the crying started with Damon compelling Stefan, that was wow. Just. Fuck. Telling him, he was the big brother ?? Holy shit.

- And I actually loved their endings. Stefan finally seeing something in his brother, doing the hero thing for him one more time, and getting his own happy ending: peace with his best friend. Lexi was so unexpected for me actually and made me very happy. Lexi always makes me very happy.

- Caroline telling Stefan she understood???? Wow. Another cry moment. In a way, they got their happy little wedding, but Stefan needed peace and closure after his long life of suffering and Caroline still had so much more to live for, so I am very at peace with their whole thing. I do love it that they got to get married though. Although, would have LOVED to see more of Stefan bonding with the babies stuff in the last couple episodes.

- Now plot nonsense-wise, Bonnie coming up with some random spell, all the Bennett witches appearing, very cathartic, but super convenient (plus really hated that Emily wasn’t there). But THEN she just casually figured out how to yadda yadda her way out of dying and being alive the same time as Elena again??? No thank you. That was such a meaningful storyline, they wrestled with it so much and I hated how it just WENT AWAY LIKE THAT. I wish they would have tied it to another sacrifice maybe, someone giving up something so that could be possible or whatever, maybe somehow Stefan gave his life for Elena’s or whatever.

- Now, Katherine being the final villain is a genius move, amazing stuff, even if it was a tad bit sudden. The way the necklace thing never went anywhere was a bit frustrating, and like she had zero past connection to Matt’s mum, they could have got a different character involved somehow, that made zero sense, but whatever, that should have been Vicki somehow, I think ???

- Actually, the whole Matt’s family reunion thing was very lost on me. Don’t care the slightest. The whole Maxwell Bell thing was very cool, giving Matt that purpose and background thing, but didn’t need the whole Dad Redemption all over it, reuniting Vicki with a father character we have never seen her with? Do not care at all.

- I wish wish wish, there would have been a moment of trickery where Stefan and Damon somehow played Katherine, tricking her into thinking that maybe they still cared about her. Maybe she could have somehow made Damon choose her or try to desperately seduce him one last time, ooh. Actually here it is: Katherine still arrogantly counts on Damon saving her, despite everything, calculating it into her plan, like she is SURE that Damon will always save her in the end, and that has to happen in order for her plane to work, and for a moment Damon makes her (and the audience) believe that he still has some flicker of love for her and there’s these flashbacks of how much he loved her, but then Damon betrays her, finally ridding himself of Katherine’s influence. Or something like that. That would have really hit the spot for me.

- The school thing’s great, clever set up for the spin-off thingy, very cheesy, but whatever. Jeremy being there, loved it, still mad at Steven R. McQueen for leaving the show (I mean not really, but you know) I hated how plothole-y Jeremy became and stuff, they should have killed him off instead or something.

- Klaroline has been a big thing for me, always, so that was fab as well.

- Stefan opening the door and Damon saying HELLO BROTHER, chef’s kiss. EXCEPT. It could have been Stefan’s room, the exact same position as the first time, and okay I know that’s Insanely Cheesy, but hear me out:

- Damon and Elena are happy, they have kids, Damon honours his brother’s sacrifice by living his human life to the fullest, he sometimes reads his brother’s journals, they have pictures of Stefan all over their place, Damon might glance at one, all nostalgic when he’s teaching the kids something or reading to them, in a ‘wish you could be here to see me do this, brother’ kind of way. Then. They are old and dying. No need for old people makeup, just show me old hands holding each other, hospital beds, whatever. It’s Damon who goes first, he’s now young again in the afterlife, he’s at his brother’s window. Stefan is writing in his journal, looks up, there is Damon. Hello, brother. Exact same as the very first time. Hug, tears, end scene. Elena meets Jenna and her parents (and John fucking Gilbert apparently) on the porch, it’s all very beautiful. There we go.

Okay, I think this is it from me, it’s 3am now and I basically started a rewrite, oops. I finished it, and I am SO glad I did, loved every minute of it, big emotions all over the place. Loved it as a teenager so much, very chuffed I got back into it <3 Loved them all lots. Except for John Gilbert, fuck him.

This is my first post on this blog so I apologise if the pacing is a little off-

I found good omens (tv show, haven’t read the book yet) around three weeks ago, and every day I think of something new surrounding it. Today’s one is this;

Throughout season two we see a lot of Crowley and Aziraphale wanting to be happy and seeing it in different ways, refer to end of episode six where Azi sees a happy future in heaven and Crowley sees a happy future on Earth. But this isn’t the only time they do this, for example their different ideas on how people fall in love.

I’m using this example specifically because of the reasons behind it (and also because that’s what this ramble’s about).

Crowley believes people fall in love when they’re under a canopy during a sudden downpour. This is, quite obviously, because it’s how he fell in love with Aziraphale. We know the moment Azi fell in love (during WW2 when Crowley did a miracle to give him his books back, as correctly assumed by Michael), but they never make a point of when Crowley fell in love, which leads us all to believe it’s from the very start when Azi doesn’t treat him any differently after becoming a demon.

His ideas of falling in love are surrounded by his own ideas and his own experiences.

Whereas, Aziraphale’s ideas of love are based off of fiction, books, one of the two things he loves. Either this is because he’s a romantic and adores the idea of having a perfect love life and perfect dates, or because he’s trying to disregard fact.

“It all looked so simple in Jane Austen” - episode 6. He sounds almost upset, but he’s too stressed to be thinking about other people’s love lives at this point because of all the demons at his front door. No, he’s upset because it didn’t work with them so how could it work for him? At this point Aziraphale doesn’t truly know if Crowley loves him back, sure he probably knows but with such lack of communication there isn’t any proper way to know is there? Especially when he’s acted the same all these years.

For this quote too, it links quite nicely to “Everyone elses love lives always seem so much more simple than your own” - Episode 3 or 4 I think. Even though it’s Nina saying this, Azi practically paraphrases it in episode six. All people in love ever want is simplicity, is for mind-reading to exist so communication doesn’t have to, as we all know this is one of Aziracrow’s biggest flaws. But this is a fictional idea, a simple love life doesn’t exist, mainly because love isn’t a simple emotion, especially to an unearthly being with religious trauma in love with a literal demon. However, Aziraphale loves the idea of simplicity, for example when he travelled to France during the revolution for crepes, or having some cakes to cure all of his problems, or having a Jane Austen ball so his crush would fall in love with him.

Little did he know, it was even simpler than that.

Crowley had been in love with him all along, the only thing he needed to do was say it.

And then, just to add to this angel’s love of simplicity, we’ll have a look at the hardest decision he had to make;

Heaven or earth?

Well, the simple answer was heaven.

For millions of years he’s been made to believe that heaven is good and hell is bad, simple, no grey areas, no things in between, there is good and there is bad.

In episode six near the end, he says to Crowley “heaven, it’s the side of truth, of light, of good.”

And throughout both seasons, he makes a point of saying Crowley’s a demon, be it lighthearted (“I am an angel, you are a demon… get behind me you foul fiend”) or obviously emotionally driven (“obviously you said no to heaven you’re the bad guys”). So in this case, Earth is bad, not because it’s bad in itself but because of Crowley; I believe (this isn’t canon) that something the Metatron said to Azi put doubt in his mind, on top of the failure of a ball and how Crowley hadn’t changed too much over the years (quite a lot of the positive things Crowley does Azi isn’t around for, ignoring when he saves Elspeth from unaliving herself, for example when he gives Jim a mug of hot chocolate or tries to make Maggie and Nina fall in love or gives Muriel a book he thinks they’ll like after they ask for one. To him, especially after subtle convincing from the metatron, Crowley is just as much of a demon as he has been all these years).

So this decision, to either stay on Earth with the love of his life and spend the rest of eternity with the only person he completely trusts or to go back to heaven and make it into the amazingly good place he’d always been told it was, is simplified into ‘good or bad’, ‘heaven or hell’, ‘light or darkness’, and his religious trauma instinctively places Crowley under the latter category.

I wish I believed in the coffee theory and the lie theory, but I think what Azi did was out of his longing for simplicity. I’ve seen a lot of people saying how Azi believes he can change it, but Crowley knows it’s impossible to change such a thing. Especially on the last day he’s there, everything was simple. To Aziraphale, Nina and Maggie had fallen in love because nothing had told him otherwise, Gabriel and Beelzebub got to leave without issue, Crowley stopped war being declared by simply saying they’re stupid. Everything seemed simple.

Crowley doesn’t see things like that. His views are changed on how things are given to him. God wants to shut Earth down in 6000 years and he immediately questions their decisions. God wants to kill Job’s kids and he immediately finds a way around it. He hates Jim until he finds out he’s genuinely sorry about something he didn’t even know he did and was willing to jump out of a window if it meant everything would turn out okay again.

Maybe that’s why the kiss didn’t work.

Maybe, because their views on love are so different (complicated vs simple), the kiss meant different things.

I think I saw a post like this somewhere, not sure what it said or who wrote it, but I believe it’s something quite similar to what i’m about to say (i also believe Neil said something similar to this confirming what the kiss meant).

Crowley’s kiss was a last ditch attempt at communication; Aziraphale wouldn’t listen to him, he was all out of ideas and needed a way to make him stay with him. It wasn’t out of love, although i’m sure that was at least 20% of why he did it, but because he hoped that Aziraphale would listen and understand that he needed to stay, that if he left what would that make Crowley? For the longest time he’d been going along with hell as far as he could, he was on his own side, but then it became ‘our side’, and it suddenly wasn’t so lonely anymore.

For Aziraphale, the kiss wasn’t so complicated.

No, Crowley was a demon, he was on hell’s side, he was one of the ‘bad guys’, he’s a demon he lied. The kiss was a temptation.

Angels can’t be tempted. And Aziraphale was an angel.

It’s that simple.

If he stayed with Crowley, it’s because the demon would’ve tempted him into it, maybe throughout these decades he’d been doing it all along. If he stayed, he’d become a fallen angel, and he wouldn’t like it in hell would he?

Aziraphale wanted a simple love, without temptation and hard decisions and kisses just to get him to stay.

Crowley just wanted Aziraphale. But he wasn’t willing to let go of his morals and his standards for him.

Aziraphale chose heaven because it was simple, because he could be happy in the future and wanted Crowley to be happy with him.

Crowley chose Earth because he knew neither of them could be happy in heaven, and he knew he couldn’t even fathom seeing the one person he truly loved in such a sad state.

It is just that simple.

I like watching US medical dramas, they're good for entertainment and I know it's all fiction but damn more than once I caught myself trying to come up with prices of all those tests and treatments the doctors do on their patients of the episode, frequently coming to conclusion that some of those patients in reality would probably wish they'd been left for dead because the idea of universal healthcare is absolutely ludicrous.

So I got inspired to write this short scene while I was cleaning up my childhood photos and found a picture of me and my brother when we were kids. He has a lot of bald patches on his head because 7-year-old Nina thought it was a good idea to play “barber” with her 4-year-old brother. Suffice to say, after that incident, scissors are kept hidden to avoid the same thing from happening again lol. I think that this shit is something Charlie and Eddy would do and this can be an excuse for me to show how the side fam’s life is 😂 Also, I thought that this is one way to introduce BelleMery’s youngest child and the baby of the family. Say hi to baby Camille, everyone! ^^

Belle: Upstairs, watching TV in their room.

Emery: Camie? What— Oh lord. Boys, you cut her hair?!

on the morning of Father's Day, Heisenberg wakes up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, complete breakfast and slice of cake

"HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, OLD MAN! THANKS FOR RAISING ME" they trust the tray towards him, laughing at the expression on his face

Heisenberg laughs loudly when he starts eating and listening to his child's rambling about the day they planned and how they hope that he loves his gifts

he does, a can of his favorite coffee, some high-quality cigars and...a handmade metal horse

living in freedom, Nina quickly learns about so many things from the outside world, but she's awestruck when she learns about a day to celebrate her dad

the little girl volts into Chris' office, high-pitched voice breaking the man's concentration

Chris: did something happened? is someone being mean to you?

"Happy Papa's day!" Karl would laugh, picking up his girl and accepting the sweet treat, a bit burn but sugary and soft

Derek sees an ad on tv about "Father's day" and doing a quick research on the computer gives him all the information he needs

he remembers the old books in Alcina's house, about men dressed formally, giving their loved one flowers

he loves his dad! so...he has to wear a suit and get flowers

Derek:...Lis? can I ask for a favour?

Lisa: oh, of course, Derek! tell me what is it?

Derek:...I need to go out to buy something for my dad!

Lisa: Well, I suppose we can work something out

the trip outside is relatively quick, Lisa laughs a bit when she takes Derek to buy a suit and even chuckles at the face the clerk in the flower shop does when the little boy asks for a bouquet for his dad.

the bouquet is almost as big as Derek, made out of roses and sunflowers

Heisenberg is...bashful when Derek shows up in his tiny suit and flowers, giddy when his father picks him up and thanks him for the flowers

for days, the people in the lab ask about the flowers sitting at Heisenberg's desk, wondering if those were from a lover, he laughs and admits that his boy brought them for him

OKAY SO, short version: it’s really good, hot damn!!

Long version (spoilers btw): I was so worried mixing the six of crew with Alina’s story was gonna be weird and not work. But thank gods they have great writers on the team (and Leigh Bardugo), and it works very very well.

Alina’s story is, let us be honest, pretty dry and boring as a series. Most of the book goes into her inner struggle with her grisha powers and her self-image and her relationship with the Darkling, a lot of it is inner turmoil. Not so interesting for a series. So adding the Six of Crew before the plot of Six of Crows is a really good idea to fill up a lot of empty space, and introduce the much more complicated characters, as well as how they work with each other. And after all the build up, when all the mains meet in the end, it’s so satisfying. Six of Crows andthe trilogy have always felt like seperate entities, but they somehow made me WANT to cross each other and be buddies. (Also Inej feeling enlightened by meeting Alina had me soaring, it was something I didn’t know I wanted 💛💛💛)

Casting is freaking perfect. The Darkling couldn’t be anyone BUT Ben Barnes, fuckin nailed it. Everyone‘s acting was amazing, Jesper especially was spot-on, Mal and Alina really took what they got and made it charming and interesting, Nina and Matthias are perfect in every way. The characters aren’t 100% the same as in the book, which is dangerous but they didn’t take anything away. In fact, they added and made it work for a tv-series format. Kaz is intimidating but he’s not all-powerful from the start, which is very different from the book but it still works. Alina is half Shu now, which I didn’t think would be necessary until she ran away to a Ravkan village, where they immediately look at her with suspicion, making her struggle to stay out of the limelight (heh) harder, so it DOES add something. There’s a lot of little things like that in every character that wouldn’t have worked as well in the book, but it does here because it’s acted and framed very well 👏👏👏

I’m surprised how much I love the magic system in the series. Reading the book, you can only do so much with your imagination. In the series, the effects are well done but what makes the grisha powers work, is the actor’s mannerisms when they use them. The harsh arm movements and the sound effects added to it, really make it feel like it’s an effort they barely have to think twice about. Aka, what the last airbender movie SHOULD have done.

If I HAVE to complain about 1 thing, it’s just that I wish the world was a little more interesting. I blame this on my own imagination going wild when i was reading the books, but Ketterdam felt massive AS WELL as claustrophobic. The show has the claustrophobia down, but not the whole Capital-City-ness of Ketterdam. Maybe that’ll happen once the Six Of Crows arc starts? I also thought the Little Palace was wayyyyy underwhelming. Especially knowing the kind of architecture Russia can come up with when they built palaces, that shit should’ve had more domes, bruh. But then again, alternatively, the Fold was really well done. A problem a lot of films have these days is that none of them know how to film Dark Scenes. As in literal dark, lights out, scenes. See: any DC film ever, except Wonder Woman. The Fold wasn’t blindingly dark, you could still clearly see the characters and their expressions. What made the Fold work was the pressing dark mist that was always hovering over them and how people talked about the Fold. Kinda like how Voldemort became intimidating solely by how other people talked about him. As well as the Stag’s forest. Mmmm that’s some good snowy scenery 👌👌👌

Just- oof- so good. I need more people to talk with about Shadow and Bone, the adaptation that’s doing it Right. It’s sooo good, I finished yesterday and I wanna watch it again already.

Suddenly...Liu woke up. His face didn't feel like it was burning anymore, and the sunshine that flowed into his room was starkly different from the darkness of the room he was just attacked in. It wasn't just that, though, everything around him seemed to be in a sort of dreamy haze. He was about to stand when his brother burst in the room. Liu nearly jumped out of his skin, quickly realizing that the scars that riddled Jeff's body before were totally gone. Was everything from before just a dream?

"Wake up, bro! You're gonna be late for school!"

All he could do was just stare at Jeff, confusion riddling his face.

"You alright, man?"

"..Y-Yeah, I'm fine!"

Liu rushed out of his bed and began preparing for school as his brother waited downstairs, rushing down as well once he was ready and walking into the kitchen, expecting the same wordless room where his parents usually were in the morning. Carla looked over at her son and smiled as she ruffled his hair.

"Good morning, you two!"

"Mornin' mama!"

Liu thought something was deeply wrong. His brother was never this jovial, and their parents barely ever talked to them in the slightest, and that was for 15 years! Was..was that all a bad dream? Was all that Sully shit a bad dream, was Jeff getting set on fire a bad dream? When him and his brother got to the school bus, Jeff sat next to one of the other kids, and Natalie sat next to Liu.

"Hi, handsome!~"

"Hey, Nat! How are you?"

Liu was thankful that at least she didn't change.

"I'm doing really well, my dad's recently gotten arrested, so now I'm living with my grandma, she's a sweetheart!"

"O-Oh, that's great!"

"Hey, did you hear about Jeff's new girlfriend?"

"No, he never told me! What's her name?"

"Cassie! I'm gonna be honest, those two are the cutest. They're such sweethearts, they're practically made for each other!"

"That's wonderful!"

Liu then looked outside the window..he couldn't help but wonder how he'd just realized this, but it was such a beautiful day outside! The birds were singing, the flowers were blooming, days like this came practically once every century in New Orleans. Maybe everything from before really was just a bad dream.

A delighted giggle came from Sully as he watched Liu go about his day in the world he'd so carefully crafted for him in his head.

"Finally safe..safe from the horrors that would taint your pure soul."

Nina boredly flipped through the late night channels, sighing as she wasn't able to find anything that interested her. It was far past her bedtime, and her eyelids were getting heavy, so when a particularly eye-catching news report showed up, it grabbed her attention right away.

"And now, we turn to New Orleans, which has been the site of a brutal massacre tonight, as 7 people have been recently found brutally murdered over the course of an hour. Police are not releasing any names of the victims, but they have apprehended a suspect who they believe is the killer, 17 year old Jeffrey Woods was recently arrested after having set the house of Bruce and Aurora Arkansas on fire. The lone survivors of this horrible night are reportedly one individual, along with the daughter of Bruce and Aurora. Liu Woods, Jeffrey's brother, has gone missing, if you have any information regarding where he may be, please contact the police. We do have footage of Jeffrey's arrest, but be warned, it may disturb some viewers."

The TV then showed footage of a group of police officers surround a pale teenager, his whole body caked in blood. Jeffrey shrugged and laid his knife down on the ground, placing his hands behind his head and allowing the police to arrest him. As he was led to the back of a cruiser, Jeff looked into the camera.

"You win some, you lose some, I guess."

The TV then cut back to the clearly shaken reporter.

"We'll provide more information as it comes to us. IN other news.."

Nina shut her TV off, a wide smile growing on her face. She couldn't quite place her finger on it, but she related to Jeff. What was keeping someone like her from going on a rampage like that...? Snatching her laptop off her desk, Nina quickly logged onto 4-Chan and started a thread. She pondered over what to call it, then typed in an adequate name.

"Jeff's Killers."

Chapter 19: "Nothing but pure evil"

"Jeffrey..do you feel even the slightest bit of guilt for your actions?"

Woods had shown no shame throughout his trial. No guilt or remorse for his actions. He sure as shit wanted to, but when the judge asked him that question, he couldn't restrain the smile that came to his face as he remembered how good it felt to plunge his knife into his father's head, how good it felt to snap Troy's neck, how good it felt to drop that match. Besides, wasn't Zalgo right? This was going to keep happening until he died.

"I don't. They all deserved what they got. Besides, I didn't have any other choice."

Silence followed his words. Some gasped, some began to sob, some just laughed in amazement, but most of the courthouse was silent.

"Jeffrey Woods..you are nothing but pure evil. This court finds you guilty of all charges, and sentences you to death."

The judge forced back tears and pointed toward the door.

"Get him out of here.."

Woods was led away by a pair of policemen, and the courtroom cheered as he was led away.

"And then, my sentence got reduced to life in prison, and now..here we are, doctor."

"I see.."

Dr. Oborn wrote down more notes in his clipboard, before looking back up at his patient.

"Doc..can I ask you a question?"

"Of course, Jeffrey."

"...Was that judge right? A-Am I just..evil?"

"While murder is a horrific crime, and many people do seem to see you as nothing more than a psycho who killed for fun, I've spoken with you for over a year now, and I don't believe you to be evil. After what you've told me, I now know that your condition was likely caused by the trauma you referred to earlier."

"..Doc, I.."

Jeff let out a burst of relieved laughter, almost tearing up from joy at the doctor's words.

"You h-have no fuckin' clue how much that means to me! I..I thought I was a lost cause for the longest time..I-I mean, people don't feel happy when they kill someone, y'know?"

"You're not a lost cause, by any means. We've made incredible progress today, and I believe that you will be able to comfortably integrate back into society soon enough. Although, I am confused by one thing."

"What?"

"..How did you know about the things that happened after your hospitalization?"

"Zalgo showed me."

"Zalgo? Who is that?"

"Zalgo is the reason I believe in the afterlife. Apparently, it's a medical miracle I even survived the incident at the party, let alone heal so quickly that my body's now one big lump of scar tissue. Zalgo helped me to survive."

"This is the first time you've mentioned this.."

"Demon."

"Demon to me. You have previously stated your beliefs in Leveyan Satanism, so is this a sort of..representation of the devil?"

"No, the devil isn't real. Zalgo is. Look, can we t-talk about something else?"

Dr. Oborn placed one of his hands on Jeffrey's shoulder, growing concerned due to his growing..worry, almost.

"Is everything alright, son?"

"I...didn't get a lot of sleep last night."

"Nightmares, again?"

"No, I saw things, doctor..I've seen how this world will end."

"You've seen the apocalypse, you say?"

Jeffrey then just shook his head, something he feared he would do suddenly worming it's way into his brain unannounced.

"Jeff..are you having intrusive thoughts?"

"I..I don't want to hurt you, you don't deserve it.."

"Nothing will happen to me, son. I'll be just fine!"

"You..you sure?"

"I'm positive."

"Thank you, doctor.."

"Of course-"

Dr. Oborn was pleasantly surprised when Jeff reached across the table and hugged him, but didn't hesitate in hugging his patient back.

Chapter 20: A new terror

"Listen, man, I know what I saw! Some lanky motherfucker was running around my backyard, and wearing a white hoodie! They didn't catch Jeff The Killer, he's still fucking running-"

Carlos Kennedy changed the channel of his radio, confused as to how someone could genuinely believe that it was a good idea to log onto a radio show, ramble about how you believed a convicted killer was still able to run around your backyard, and think you'll be taken seriously. His attention to that was quickly interrupted by seeing a person lying near the road, face down. The good Samaritan quickly stopped his car and got out, rushing over to the seemingly unconscious person that was lying in a ditch.

"Hello?! A-Are you-"

A knife to Carlos's throat quickly cut him off, blood spraying out of his wound. The girl who stabbed him lifted his corpse off the decoy, a teenager in a white hoodie and a somewhat poorly made, but nonetheless effectively scary Jeff The Killer mask.

"Good work, Jethro."

"All I did was sit here, but thanks, Nina."

This was the first recorded murder committed by Jeff's Killers, after a year of just being a bunch of teenagers hanging out in an abandoned house where a bunch of patricide took place.
