while there are certainly vegan communities which are quite toxic when it comes to people who have legitimate barriers to going fully plant based (looking at u insta) I’ve mostly seen vegans being very very kind and compassionate towards fellow vegans who are unable to keep 100% plant based at the moment, and were looking for advice.
the places where I’ve seen the most conflict was when non vegans came into a fully vegan space (vegan forums, tags etc.), proclaiming they could not go vegan, and also did not want to, and asked vegans to basically applaud them for it. and these two are radically different situations.

I have a lot to say about ISCKON and its leaders (hi Amogh Lila Prabhu, looking at you especially) but I just wanna let you know how this particular leader was convinced into joining this organization by foul means. Foul how? Lemme tell you.
He was a devout Shivbhakt. And then when he came to ISCKON he still wanted to be a Shivbhakt. But then he was shown scriptural "facts" about how Shiv is a secondary God/demigod to Krishna. THIS is where I have a problem.
You can be a monotheistic Hindu sect. But to say that Shiva being inferior to Krishna is the ONLY canon is not "facts". It's SOLELY the belief of YOUR sect/org. What kind of facts did they show you, Prabhu? Did they show you the Veds, which have literally no mention of this idea? Did they show you these Veds that don't consider Vishnu to be the supreme deity, but rather the focus is more on Indra, Agni, Vayu and other gods, which your org considers to be "demi-gods"? Also how is it possible that you being so passionate about Hinduism didn't do your OWN research? Did you simply go "Huh... makes sense."?? All you had to do was look at the Veds, which were written BEFORE the epics and the Gita. And there were your "facts". (Sanatan Dharm is NOT the ENTIRE Vedic pantheon my guy sorry to burst your bubble lmao).
Again, I'm not saying religions don't change. But when you say "scriptural facts", ALL scriptures come into consideration. From the Rig Ved to the Bhavishya Mallika. So you are free to consider Krishna as your Supreme Godhead for all I care but do know that "scriptural facts" ALSO say that Krishna is NOT the supreme Godhead, that the other Vedic Gods were JUST as powerful as he was, if not more, and that Hinduism is NOT solely monotheistic, and a lot more that you and your lot find uncomfortable and hard to digest. Because guess what, Hinduism and all other pagan religions NEVER had a linear path and JUST ONE canon event. I'm tired of regurgitating the same words oml.
In short, all I'm saying is... practice Vaishnavism and let others practice their own beliefs in peace. If someone worships only Indra and Agni don't go around telling them that they can't achieve eternal peace because these two are "demigods" and shit. I'm sorry ISKON was biased with their "facts" and made you a Krishnabhakt from a Shivbhakt in not a very ethical sense but eh, whatever. As long as you're happy who cares. But let others worship their own gods and PLEASE don't falsely spread the idea that Krishna as the Supreme Godhead is the ONLY canon event, because it's so not. And pls stop disrespecting the other Gods. Forgetting your roots and discarding the Veds doesn't erase the history and timeline of this religion lol.

UNO!!! what do you think of aegon ii?
BABES...
okay, look i have much to say about aegon ii but trigger warning before we continue: i will be mentioning spoilers from the series, the books, and sexual assault. and before you guys ask, yes, i am team black but i try to give some of the greens the benefit of doubt. but i have always been a fire&blood reader first and foremost more than i will ever be a hotd fan. (i liked hotd at first but then the writers happened.)
i think aegon ii wasn’t raised properly. i admit that viserys was not the best father and f&b!alicent/hotd!alicent was just... i think we all know how she was. but that does not excuse his actions. he was neglected, treated poorly by his parents, but that DOES NOT excuse his actions. while i believe in separating fiction from reality, that still does not take away the fact that he assaulted girls more than once.
i personally draw the line there when it comes to fiction. i separate fiction from reality but no. just no. like, fuck. no, i’m just 💀 i could’ve empathized for aegon’s mommy and daddy issues but then he just had to be a rapist 💀 c’mon... so i'll admit: i don’t understand his fans. i don’t understand the aegon little meow meow edits when the guy is literally a rapist.
(and yes, i don’t like aemond too... i have a thing against older kids getting pissed at something younger kids too. it’s a personal grudge tbh. but i am, however, a f&b!alicent lover 😍 slay evil queen! at least you had ambition and was a girlboss! hotd did you no justice babe!)

"free palestine," he shouted until his last breath. aaron bushnell, we will never forget you.
as much as bushnell's actions has moved us all, please seek other ways to take actionable measures against the injustices we face in the world. none of us wanted him gone, and the least we can do is prevent another such tragedy by supporting each other in our efforts to enact lasting change.

"wow, you actually like this shit?" as I scroll through her disgusting horny Tumblr likes with one hand. Rubbing lazy circles on her swollen little clit with the other. Degrading her for being such a gross little girl while she mindlessly moans and humps my hand each time I send a filthy disapproving glance her way.

They have since left four premature babies to decompose on their beds. They have since kidnapped, stripped, tortured civilians and tried to frame them as Hamas fighters for their propaganda. They have since shot people at refugee camps execution style. They have since targeted academics and poets and directors. They have since killed 86 journalists. Still no ceasefire.
psa: i know that many of us did NOT doubt this for a second, neither did i. this is targeted at the people who educated themselves for the first time about this genocide and discovered the absolute horrific things that Israel is capable of doing to Palestinians, with the unwavering support of its allies.

changes and trends in horror-genre films are linked to the anxieties of the culture in its time and place. Vampires are the manifestation of grappling with sexuality; aliens, of foreign influence. Horror from the Cold War is about apathy and annihilation; classic Japanese horror is characterised by “nature’s revenge”; psychological horror plays with anxieties that absorbed its audience, like pregnancy/abortion, mental illness, femininity. Some horror presses on the bruise of being trapped in a situation with upsetting tasks to complete, especially ones that compromise you as a person - reflecting the horrors and anxieties of capitalism etc etc etc. Cosmic horror is slightly out of fashion because our culture is more comfortable with, even wistful for, “the unknown.” Monster horror now has to be aware of itself, as a contingent of people now live in the freedom and comfort of saying “I would willingly, gladly, even preferentially fuck that monster.” But I don’t know much about films or genres: that ground has been covered by cleverer people.
I don’t actually like horror or movies. What interests me at the moment is how horror of the 2020s has an element of perception and paying attention.
Multiple movies in one year discussed monsters that killed you if you perceived them. There are monsters you can’t look at; monsters that kill you instantly if you get their attention. Monsters where you have to be silent, look down, hold still: pray that they pass over you. M Zombies have changed from a hand-waved virus that covers extras in splashy gore, to insidious spores. A disaster film is called Don’t Look Up, a horror film is called Nope. Even trashy nun horror sets up strange premises of keeping your eyes fixed on something as the devil GETS you.
No idea if this is anything. (I haven’t seen any of these things because, unfortunately, I hate them.) Someone who understands better than me could say something clever here, and I hope they do.
But the thing I’m thinking about is what this will look like to the future, as the Victorian sex vampires and Cold War anxieties look to us. I think they’ll have a little sympathy, but they probably won’t. You poor little prey animals, the kids will say, you were awfully afraid of facing up to things, weren’t you?

things i wish i had known when i escaped my family household and couldn't ask my parents for help
invest in a good mattress early on. there are many other ends you can save on - sleep is not one of them. this is key to how much energy you'll have throughout the day
you don't need a bedframe but you do need a slatted bed base (even if it's just pallets)
opening a bank account is easy
there's youtube tutorials for everything. how to install your washing machine, how to use tools, fixing stuff around the place. channels like dad, how do i? are a godsend
change energy provider as soon as your old deal runs out. you'll get better offers elsewhere and avoid price gouging
assemble a basic first aid kid at home: painkillers, probiotics, alcohol wipes, bandages, tweezers, antihistamine tablets - anything you might need in a pinch
and an emergency toolkit: flashlight, extra batteries, a utility knife, an adjustable wrench, multi-tool, duct tape
set your fridge to the lowest temperature it can go. the energy consumption is minimal in difference and it'll give you +4/7 days on most foods
off-brand products are almost always the same in quality and taste, if not better, for half the price
coupons will save you a lot of money in the long run
there's no reason to be shy around employees at the bank/laundromat/store; most people will be happy to help
vegetarian diets are generally cheap if you make food from scratch
breakfast is as important as they say
keep track of your budget in a notebook or excel file - e.g. rent, phone and internet bills, food, leisure so you'll have an overlook on your spending over the months
don't gamble
piracy is okay
stealing from big stores and chains is also ethically okay
keep medical bills and pharmacy receipts for tax returns
also, file your tax returns early
take up a hobby that isn't in front of a screen. pottery, music, going for a run every now and then, stuff that'll keep you busy and sane
and most importantly... you're allowed to get the stuff you want. treat yourself to the occasional mundane thing. a good scented candle. a bath bomb. that body lotion that makes you feel like royalty. the good coffee beans.
you're free and you deserve to be happy.

corrupted godhood. reluctant false messiah. prophecy as a creeping all consuming malady. does the oracle see the future or make the future? the horror of trapping yourself inescapably on purpose. the chains of destiny dragging you towards the path you are fighting tooth and nail to free yourself from. there never having been a chance to begin with. no other choice to make. but making that choice regardless.

The funniest thing about House MD to me is that all the shippers are right. House and Wilson really are just Like That. I'm so used to big ships being completely noncanon or distant subtext at best. Not Hilson. They have a fake dating episode. In the episode where House mocks a gay man for being in denial, the multi-episode-long subplot is about him trying to break up Wilson's relationship because he's jealous and wants him to himself. Wilson, his best friend and person whom he lives with. This show is insane.
