"nanobots" the song is this deconstructed view of child development and parenthood where it's like, 'wow have you ever thought about how weird producing offspring is. like, it's weird, right! we make these little people and they quickly grow into their own individual personalities with their own lives and autonomy and I've lost all authority and there's so many and you've gotta be responsible for them all the time, what did I do !!!'

but as well as approaching it with this slightly overwhelmed perspective, there's a sort of affectionate optimism in there, too. that even tho the concept's intimidating, there's a sense of wonder in how humans develop and raising them and watching them grow up. hey this kid thing's fun actually, yeah I wish they'd leave me alone sometimes, but look at how cute and resilient they are look at what they can do. and then "replicant" is like jesus parenting a teenager is hard.

falling asleep as i type this // i think im finally over the hesitation i had to make sylphs lament incorporate ballet. like it's always felt off because i was trying to work around it but i think i really did just need a bit more time. turns out it's kind of hard to approximate that specific experience using different experiences in a way that feels coherent

#my mom and dad used to go axe throwing with my aunt and uncle once a week #my uncle built a forge out of cinder blocks in my backyard and we moved it with us after for like ten years #my dad forged for a long time #even like. making and serving alcohol or some shit. my dad is an alcoholic who used to make his own mead #cottagecore ass lesbians?? my mom was an apothecary and my dad has always had a garden #dark academia ass gay people? my parents get into ethical debates to pass the time when they're in line in stores #art or singing or dancing? my mom was a theatre major her first time through college. we do that here #my mom used to customize jeans for her friends free of charge bc she could just draw on them to stim during long conversations #my siblings and i split up roles in musicals before we start them bc of my mom #dancing is about my grandparents but anyway they were competitive line dancers and that's not the only dance they did #everybody in my family has adhd and/or autism and there are no safe interests in this house #and my siblings would probably say the same thing about shit that i've hyperfixated on in the past that they cannot look at bc i #talked about it too much. i know enough about literature to make any normal person fall asleep. i have a borderline encyclopedic knowledge #of big cats. i literally read a series of encyclopedias as a child because i wanted to have a base knowledge of most things #how was i not diagnosed !!!!!! how did no one diagnose me !!!!!!!#and it's bc everybody in my family thought it was normal for me to read at a collegiate level in first grade. please be so for real rn #this turned into talking about my family's autism but isn't that what it was always about lmao #mer rambles

I'm watching the Queen Elisabeth Competition rn (livestream, not in person, tho I've got tickets for two nights of the final round at the end of the month) and trying to think of who I'd hypothetically vote for is so hard because they're all so good. How are the actual judges doing it XD

tbh i don’t believe ppl who say they shave bc leg hair gives them sensory issues or whatever bc *i* actually get sensory issues from shaving so like. what is the truth.

#obviously my experiences are universal (slash ess)#but literally i quit shaving my legs permanently after having a meltdown abt not being able to get it complete/perfect/symmetrical #continued to shave my armpits until i finished high school bc i was in dance and i did get a little insecure onstage #but more than that i was afraid my teachers would make me shave. i was already pushing it w my haircut lmao #(i didn’t do any intensive classes or competition it probably would’ve been fine but. the owner was mean #i barely interacted with her but i was afraid she’d single me out)#ANYWAY shaving my armpits def was worse for my sensory issues #like they’re a little uncomfortable sometimes snow but never as bad as when the hair was stubbly and growing back out #i also have upper lip hair that i’ve never done anything about <3 #that’s the only thing i’d actually consider removing but idk how i would #that’s one of those things where i always felt like everybody else knew something i didn’t #like i’m i’m not supposed to have a mustache but how is everybody else getting rid of it that they’re not telling me.#i’m aware of different ways but i don’t want to do that Wrong One #that’s not the issue now so much as i don’t want to learn to shave my face and don’t want it to grow back more visible (i know it doesn’t #grow back thicker but if it was stubbly it would be noticeable.)#i also have a unibrow and i love her <3 #r.txt
