Klaroline Fic: The Wolf IV [01/13]

Summary: Five years after the downfall of the Mikaelson family, Caroline returns to New Orleans to fulfill the promise she made to Marcel: one day, she would be back for the man he has been keeping prisoner in the bowels of the old compound, and she would not be leaving without him. S04E01 Gather Up the Killers ✨

The thing about finally getting something you longed for what feels like an eternity is the accompanying dread that it might be taken away.

Even after five years, Marcel is still not used to having it. Peace.

Nobody tells you how unsettling peace is. How it manifests as a constant nagging in the back of your mind, like you're forgetting something, getting soft, letting your guard down. It's quiet and harmonious, yes, but it's also a kind of fear. A cold shudder at the pit of your stomach, as though at any second it can all be snatched away from you.

If he doesn't watch himself, it can easily descend into paranoia.

He doesn't think there has been a single day where he hasn't been on full alert mode, looking over his shoulder, watching over the city from his not-so-new penthouse like a vigilante, waiting for the monsters to come out. And then he remembers that there are no monsters anymore. None greater than him, anyway. He is the thing that everybody fears.

He's always tiptoeing around that delicate line separating caution from madness, one sudden move around a corner away from overreaction that could send all the hard-earned balance they've achieved blown into the air.

One wrong move from turning into him.

-- Took forever and a day, but ta-da! Starting part 4 was so much harder than I thought, but well. Here is something! Like I said, I'm not starting a new AO3 story for this, it'll be [22/34] there, but for the sake of being clearer here, I'm using the S4 numbers and a new summary.

BIG POST AHEAD! This has all the parts I’ve made of my characters Bruce, Wesley, and Matthew meeting for the first time! I technically haven’t finished the comic, but if I do ever mange to actually wrap it up properly I’ll reblog this post with the new parts! This started off as one drawing and then I ended up expanding upon it and actually making the kid Bruce saves to be an ongoing character, along with his father. A bit of a background on Bruce… he never knew his father and is estranged from his mother. ( yes I know it kinda sounds like the shark from Finding Nemo lol) So Bruce here is a pretty sad lonely boi (he does have a friend Creole, a crayfish merman, who I need to post about soon as well) but he tries to hide it and act tough and scary. When really, he’s got a good heart under all that shark snark and muscle! Wesley and his dad (the mother sadly passed during Wes’s birth) were on a cruise ship when Wesley falls overboard. Bruce had intended to do the whole monster bit and scare the heck out of everyone onboard, but when Wesley falls in, he ends up deciding to save him instead. Annnd this is where the pictures start!

Whooo BOY! That was a lot to break down and compile… haha ;w; The comics were originally in a long vertical format, but I had to make it easier to read for Tumblr. Lots of work! 😅

Auriga is an ex-Meteor "Knight" who was personally trained up (and in the loosest definition, raised from when he was a young teen) by Sirius because he showed exceptional prowess as a Pokemon trainer.

Sirius disallowed Auriga from getting friendly with anybody and treated him with little patience. He never even called his protégé by his birth name, solely referring to him by his Meteor code name (which caused Auriga to only identify with his code name instead of his birth name which he hardly remembers). He trained him to become a cold-hearted and powerful trainer, though he was never allowed his own team—he was given rental Pokemon for missions, instead.

Sirius, Solaris, and Elias routinely drilled into Auriga’s head that Team Meteor was his family and he owed them for everything; therefore, he was expected to be completely loyal without question. However, the few times he spoke to Taka or Luna, plus Luna escaping and running away, one day, had him question this loyalty, and eventually added up to him defecting from Team Meteor and running from the Reborn region, for a little while.

Soon, though, he returned, determined to stop Team Meteor from carrying out their plans and ending them for good. From the moment he set foot within the region, he worked restlessly to fight Team Meteor at every corner, sometimes to his own self destruction. He uses prior knowledge and his own wit to maneuver through his journey.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t know who he is without Team Meteor, either. He can’t confidently describe what it means to be family, he hates to be left to his own time when he’s not chasing Meteors or training to defeat them, and has difficulty talking to others who aren’t/weren't part of the organization.

Totally forgot I didn't post these sketches from a few weeks ago! Anyway, this is in an au of an au of sorts. Here, Ingo and Johanna had already married pre-eeby (I have a whole plot for that in my head if anyone's interested). Now, instead of Dawn getting sent to Hisui, Johanna gets sent there and gets to reunite with her amnesiac husband.

So, obviously, Ingo would be there helping his wife quell the last two nobles, but while facing Lord Electrode, he gets a bit distracted cuz his wife is pretty and strong and an amazing dodger, and as a contest coordinator she's probably occasionally throwing in some flair due to habit, and Ingo is just in awe. Poor guy almost gets crushed cuz he's not paying attention to the frenzied noble. And poor Johanna has to keep an eye on her mess of a husband.
