For a lot of us, losing Twitter isn’t really about losing ties to the company itself. It’s losing 10+ years of real, asynchronous communities, professional development, the ability to get gigs and clients, the ability to promo/share your art on an extremely broad scale. The loss of that has impact.

i genuinely don't care how good a piece of ai generated art or writing looks on the surface. i don't care if it emulates brush strokes and metaphor in a way indistinguishable from those created by a person.
it is not the product of thoughtful creation. it offers no insights into the creator's life or viewpoint. it has no connection to a moment in time or a place or an attitude. it has no perspective. it has no value.
it's empty, it's hollow, and it exists only to generate clicks (and by extension, ad revenue.)
it's just another revolting symptom of the disease that is late stage capitalism, and it fucking sucks.

How to Build & Maintain Healthy Connections Solo Mom
Photo by Antony Trivet on Pexels.com Introduction It can be hard for solo moms to build and maintain healthy connections. But these relationships are crucial to your health and happiness, so you shouldn’t ignore them. And I know it may seem like you’re just getting in touch with people who can help you. But if you take care of these connections with honesty and integrity, they can lead to…

Something I miss from earlier eras of the creative side of the internet was things just being unabashedly low-budget. Just all unashamedly amateur, unprofessional, ‘I don’t own a good camera but I have a story to tell you’, ‘I can’t afford a good mic but I have a song to sing for you,’ ‘I don’t have any kind of background in editing or lighting and I only just picked up this guitar last Tuesday but here’s an entire musical me and my friends wrote about our favourite book, we filmed it on a potato and put it up on YouTube in ten minute segments because we thought it was pretty funny.’

AU where Light keeps turning down everyone at To-Oh because he's already in a relationship. But no one believes him. No one has ever seen him with anyone on a date. He goes to all classes, helps at the NPA, no free time. His friends and family tell him to honestly tell them if he's single and just making stuff up to avoid dating.
Thing is, Light does have a boyfriend. A partner. It's L. Except he can't tell them because security reasons TM.
Sayu: "I'm talking about a real person, bro. Not some waifu character in a game."
Sachiko: "Bring them home, Light. I'll believe you then. Before that, have you met our neighbor's cousin Kaoru?"
----
Light: "You. You are booking a ticket to Japan this December." L: "But I like being Light-kun's secret online waifu."

@seemoreseymoursbay day 4!! Platonic relationship day
I chose Nat and Louise for today! I just love how she looks up to Nat, Louise seems to have a lot of insecurities about her place in the world and how she expresses herself and her gender (being worried about not liking girly things or about her interests being too scary or dangerous and about those things making her bad or wrong) so the way she seems to see Nat as a positive rolemodel for non traditional femininity and aspires to be more like her is just really sweet to me. I also personally hc Louise as a lesbian and I think when she starts to crush on a girl (in this case jessica bc i love them together) she wouldn't want to talk to her family about it for fear of them trying to involve themselves so she starts going to Nat to vent about her crushes and get advice (and hold snakes probably)

the mh comics open up such an interesting narrative for our few surviving characters. to them, what happened in the videos was real, but to everyone else its a cool creative web series. when all of that is viewed as fiction, fans have a freedom to speculate about and invade the lives and privacy of real people. and that would be so uncomfortable and terrifying. imagine someone irl having headcanons about YOU. writing fan fiction about you and your real friends. assuming things about you PUBLICLY ! IN MASS!
wouldnt it be so cool to see a character grapple with that in like a self-reflective way? fans asking questions the muse is too afraid to ask themselves. of course, theyre the only person the answer matters to.

it’s something like unimportant but it always makes me so happy when i see someone correctly gender me online
like i know most people use “they” to be safe but in reblogs when i see stuff like “i love her art” it makes me feel so seen that someone went and checked my pronouns to make sure to use the correct ones

Does anyone else ever talk to another queer person like what if we loved each other what if we knew everything about one another what if we were each other’s most important person what if i loved you more than anyone else what if our paths never cross again after this and i’m left with this incomprehensible sense of loss over a stranger
