Industry people voted for Harry to win AOTY, 18,000 industry people vote for that award every year. Whether they think he’s manufactured or not is irrelevant because they’re clearly buying what he’s selling so who really cares? I’m sorry but I’m tired of the self soothing “oh but he’s manufactured and people know it” like… let’s not lie to ourselves to feel better. It’s easy to fall in the trap of thinking that karma is actually real and things will rectify themselves eventually, that we just need a little patience because surely this terrible person is falling out of favor, and people are seeing through them, and their imminent fall from grace is inevitable.

In my experience, that’s self soothing BS. Undeserving people have stepped on my back to get job positions I wanted and needed. My friends would go “oh but I bet your boss will see it if you work hard enough” or “eventually the true face of this person will show” and years go by and things don’t “fix themselves”, karma doesn’t strike, justice isn’t made.

The same thing happens in the music industry, probably ten times worse. As someone who’s been observing the industry for a while, Harry has managed to reach an echelon that very few people have reached in history. I’m talking, Justin freaking Timberlake never won AOTY. 49 artists have won that award since the Grammys were created. Of today’s musical landscape, of artists that routinely chart and are popular, the only ones to ever win it are Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, Adele, Taylor Swift, and Harry Styles. You can add Kacey Musgraves to that list if you feel so inclined (I don’t, she’s not actually mainstream imo). That is an INSANE lineup to be a part of, and the day I found out he’d won it (the day after the Grammys because I refused to stay up just to get pissed off), was when I realized he’d won.

He just won and people are running in circles trying to come up with excuses as to why, actually, he can still lose. This is what he wanted and he got it, to a degree that I don’t even know he himself imagined (and people can spare me the discourse about his team buying Grammys because you can buy nominations but not awards, and definitely not AOTY, there’s a reason so few people have won it). Sure, we all know everything he lost in the process, but I’m willing to bet he doesn’t care and it’s all worth it for him.

There’s no degree of “the industry knows” or “fans will drop him.” The industry embraced him and he has fans in a chokehold, as much as it makes me want to break things. I let myself be fooled by the reception of his award on twitter, and then I came across a post about it on Facebook. People were outraged… that Twitter was mad. I kid you not. He pops up in my for you page on tik tok all the time no matter how many times I pick “not interested”. The amount of videos defending him and outraged about the person shouting during his acceptance speech. The amount of comments saying that Beyoncé was overrated (freaking BEYONCÉ. Overrated!!!????), that he deserved the win (!!!). The comments on YouTube and even in articles defending him. I truly truly gave up at that point. This poor excuse of a man could kick puppies as a hobby and they’d still be lodged up his ass.

and I do agree karma doesn't exist lol Good people are always pushed out by oppressive systems bc otherwise those systems wouldn't work anymore (that's why there are no good politicians and no good cops) and if we're talking about universal karma then good people always die and bad people live to their 90s rip

If u ask any of my friends here like @weareonejazzhand she can tell u I've been saying that we'll never get rid of that man now and we'll still be bombarded with his stupid biopic in 2050 and by then he'll have rewritten history completely lol

Wait wait I'm changing my question ahah: What do you think of each of the guys in class 1A (do u like them, what u think of their character, simp or no simp etc)

LOL I don’t really know what Simp means. But On the boys in Class 1A, I’m guessing you’re asking how I like them? Favorites, least faves?

I guess I’ll rank them in order of how much I like them.

14. Mineta

Duh. He hasn’t been as bad lately, but he is still to me the least interesting character in all of class 1a with the most repulsive personality.

13. Sato

I have nothing against him or any of them after Mineta. Sato is just fine. He’s nice, he bakes, and he’s strong. We just don’t have much of his personality or backstory so there’s not a lot to judge him by.

12. Koda

Koda has a little more development since we got his backstory and he saved Jirou, so he’s cool. But again, not as well developed, so harder to engage with.

11. Sero

Similar to the previous two. HE has badass moments but we don’t know him as well. His personality is kind of funny and bold and I’d like to know more of him, but we just don’t have a ton to go on.

10. Ojiro

Like the main joke with Ojiro is that he’s “normal” and “boring”. And that’s just fine. He’s the average one. But he does have a cool aesthetic and he was nice to Deku and Iida. 

9. Shoji

Shoji is quiet but cool. He was a total badass saving Deku in the forest and he’s generally reliable for stealth and ass kicking. His quiet and restrained personality is all right by me.

8. Aoyama

Aoyama’s backstory is sweet and touching. His personality is well defined, he’s funny and occasionally saddening, and he comes through when he’s needed. He’s a little too extra for me to get into, but all around good stuff. 

7. Kaminari

Kaminari is cute, funny and fun; he has cool powers and is good at coming through for his friends. Again, he’s not the best developed character in terms of backstory, but we know his personality well.

6. Tokoyami

Cool, dark and edgy. A real badass. his struggles with controlling dark shadow were really interesting and it’s a shame we haven’t seen that side of him for a long time.

5. Kirishima

I like Kiri, his sad backstory, his relateable insecurity, his bravery and badassery and kind, loveable dynamics with everyone. I will say I think he’s just a tad overrated by the fandom, but that’s only because the fandom’s love for him is so overwhelming it couldn’t really be realistic for any character. 

4. Iida

Iida is class a’s dad and great leader. Great friend, relatable flaws, and immediately identifiable character. He’s well defined, we know what he wants, and we love him for it. He needs more development now.

3. Shoto

Now onto the obvious top 3 - the Traffic Light Trio! It’s so hard to rank them, because I love them all so much. But Shoto does come in third, partially because his competition is so great, partially because he does end up being a little flat sometimes. He often is in the position of reacting to the whackiness around him, and he hasn’t had as much development himself per se as his relationships have had. But yes, I am all on board the Todoroki train. Our lovable troubled boy.

2. Deku

Believe it or not, my first MHA love, my original fave character, the one who drew me into the show - is now in second place. I used to think he’d never fall out of it, but then he spent this entire year being an asshole and making me wanna punch him, and that eventually  wore on my patience so much it knocked him down to second. But I still remember why I loved Deku originally. What makes him amazing, the embodiment of saving, and our hero. 

1. Katsuki Bakugou

I have jumped on board the train. As of this year, Katsuk iis officially my favorite MHA boy, possibly character period. His development, his growth, his out there personality and complexity and layers; the way he’s only grown more and more relateable, likeable and kind. The way he’s come to help other characters grow even better. Kacchan only gets better and better as time goes on.

7. What do they do together?

Oh this is a very good question because although I’ve written like 80k words between them I have never thought of this lol! Most of Moth Work is them a) not being together b) thinking/yearning for each other c) arguing so of course, those things, but in terms of like ~~hobbies, I know for sure they take an excessive amount of polaroid pictures together, and not sure if this counts as something they’d do “together” but I can see it happening--Harrison is a visual artist, and I always planned that in a Fostered spinoff that is no longer happening, following Lonan’s other sister, Chris, that Chris would find Harrison working on a charcoal drawing of Lonan. Now, is this something he sneakily does in private that Lonan doesn't know about? That would be adorable (omg an entire sketchbook of his muse I caaaaan’t), or if Harrison does this almost like life drawing! Maybe both! They also smoke a lot of cigarettes together lmao but in FH will def be going on a journey to quit together!

22. What petty opinions do they not agree on?

Dogs are superior to cats/cats are superior to dogs (Harrison is a dog person, Lonan is a cat person).

East VS West Coast. You know how west coast is best coast, well Harrison DISAGREES (I’m biased and inclined to agree). Lonan is a west coast baby (Oregon!), tho he grew up in the east and hated it, Harrison is an east coast baby (Brooklyn!) and thinks the west coast is overrated, so they’re just going to need to compromise by living on the *superior* coast (the east coast obvi I am so biased I also love the west coast, she has my heart too don’t come for me)

24. What is their biggest problem?

A few things, but I think this all boils down to a lack of communication. Harrison really wants to help Lonan, and goes out of his way to do so, and so can get a bit emotionally drained when that help doesn't seem to be appreciated, but what helps Harrison feel better about helping Lonan might not help Lonan feel better etc. Lonan for this reason, can be unkind to these efforts and also needs to communicate with himself so he better understands who he is/what he needs so that he can communicate that to Harrison. TL;DR they need to talk to each other!!!

I have been thinking on what real love is about.. And it is nothing but having an imperfect person and having to notice all of his or hers flaws and still thinking he or she is the right person for you. Having to accept his or hers past, having to love him or her not giving a shit bout the circumstances. I dont have to be in love to understand what real love is. I have been in love and it is pointless, painful and overrated. How to navigate a weekend of college football through an Orange and Blue lens

Greetings Tiger fans! Today is one of those special fall Saturdays. Everybody sleep well last night? Especially enjoy that cup of joe this morning? The cool, crisp air is all around us for the first time all season. And on this blessed Saturday, we all get to enjoy the rarest of moments in the season...a reprieve from the anxiety and stress we uniquely identify with as proud supporters of our Auburn Tigers.

It’s not that we don’t enjoy this. It’s our birthright as fans, after all. But today, while we enjoy a much needed break, standing at a respectable 5-1 on the season, let me take this opportunity with a handful of games both in and around the SEC to hopefully figure out where our rooting interests should lie today. First, a few things to keep in mind...

Of course I’m always pulling for Auburn.

I’m looking at this as a “what ultimately benefits our cause” perspective

Alabama is playing Georgia with a national championship on the line*

*About #5...I’m not here to pretend like I haven’t gotten just a little bit numb to Alabama winning a national championship. It is what it is. But I will never yield ground to that school to the east who wants to pretend like they’re God’s gift to football. This is a group of people who spit on me and many other Auburn folks in Athens in 2014 and 2016. This is a group of humans who choose to bark like animals at other people. I can not, and will not, find reason to ever hope for anything but the worst kind of despair and disappointment for those people. They have managed to make Alabama the lesser of two evils by their actions, and they should never be forgiven for it.

Now, with that out of the way, onto this weekend’s slate!

Florida at LSU

I know what you’re thinking. A Florida win serves to benefit Auburn both in the hopes of an SEC West Championship, a potential rematch with Florida in Atlanta, and may expose LSU before we travel to Baton Rouge in 2 weeks. Plus, Florida doing well should, on paper, make us look better. I’ve thought the same thing this past week! But let’s think this one through for a moment:

An LSU win here, and an Auburn victory in Baton Rouge negates any need for us to care about a loss to Florida helping our resume

Florida ain’t getting back to Atlanta with Georgia on left on the schedule, and probably another loss hidden in that schedule somewhere (look at their record against Missouri the last few years!)

We need LSU to hang in there for now in the West standings with us and Alabama left to play. Let’s say we beat LSU and they somehow beat Alabama for the first time since 2011. We’re going to want them to win a tiebreaker against Alabama if we can’t win out and take another loss between Georgia and Alabama.

For these reasons...Geaux Tigers. Also if we’re being honest my bitter Auburn heart ain’t gonna pull for a team that had one of the dumbest wins over us in a hot minute.

Play it. Play it early, play it often. Make the Valley shake and unleash hell.

Texas vs. Oklahoma

Admittedly I am LOVING watching Jalen Hurts this year! I finally get why Alabama people cherished him so much. For the life of me I can’t understand why in the world it took me until this season for me to finally come around and appreciate him and his talent.

These two teams are most likely to play twice, and I want Oklahoma in the playoff. Why? Because I don’t want 2 SEC teams in the playoff. For us to make it we’re going to have to win out, so no sense in pulling against a team when a loss could open a door for a non-SEC Champion Alabama or Georgia to get into this thing without earning it.

Jalen Hurts’ story is truly one that we should all be able to get behind and be happy for him. Plus the idea of him winning a Heisman, winning a showdown with Alabama in the playoff, and a national championship will drive them insane.

Florida State at Clemson

Clemson ain’t as good as they were a year ago...yet. Seems they do this every year where they take until November to figure it out as a fully-charged super weapon.

We need Clemson in the playoff for the same reason that we need Oklahoma in the playoff. We don’t need 2 SEC teams in this thing. Matter of fact, if it’s not us, we don’t need any.

Clemson is one of the few teams in America that is capable of doing the dang thing against Alabama or Georgia.

Florida State, despite having a head coach in Willie Taggert that I like, doesn’t deserve to ever have anything good happen to them again. If you need to know why then you’re on the wrong website.

Mississippi State at Tennessee

So here’s the thing...we need Tennessee to figure out this whole football thing again. As long as they’re the only other school in the conference to play Georgia and Alabama every year, we need this program to find some semblance of life and get on the right track. With that in mind, we need Mississippi State to win this game. Why?

Tennessee is past the point of no return on this season. If Pruitt loses his job over it, maybe they’ll finally get it right with the next hire. Don’t give this group of people reason to practice patience when they’ve got a coach who is absolutely going to get fired at some point. Pull for them to go ahead and pull that trigger.

Joe Moorhead is 100% in over his head in Starkville, is no Dan Mullen, and it would be super nice to give them reason to have a tad more patience with him after BLOWING IT last season with the nation’s #1 defense.

Alabama at Texas A&M

Texas A&M is the weirdest group of people I have ever seen. Don’t let the “Howdy!” greeting fool you. Members of their last national championship team were in their 60’s the last time Georgia won a national championship. And that was THIRTY-NINE YEARS AGO. This group of people worship a collie and have partaken in drinking $75 million worth of Kool-Aid on an overrated head coach who is going to perpetually lose 3-5 games a year. AND IT WOULD ABSOLUTELY INFURIATE ALABAMA PEOPLE TO LOSE TO THEM. It goes without saying who we are pulling for here, because, while this ain’t happening, there is nothing that could happen this weekend that would be more hilarious. GIG ‘EM TEXAS AGGIES!
