Another Rose in His Garden is an 18+ erotic Omegaverse BL visual novel. Abel Valencia is an Omega who's hidden his secondary sex his entire life. Life's alright, until he meets the wealthy tycoon, Mars Rosales, and the two get embroiled in a sexual affair that changes his life forever.

Pygmalion's Folly is a survival murdersim where you play as Roxham Police Department's star detective, hellbent on finding your sister's killer... until he finds you.

Who's the team?

Jack (creator, writer, artist), mostly. I closely work with Exodus (main programmer) and Claira (music composer). My husband edits the drafts.

For Reanimated Heart, my friend Bonny makes art assets. I've also gotten help from outsiders like Sleepy (prologue music + vfx) and my friend Gumjamin (main menu heart animation).

For Reanimated Heart's VOs, Alex Ross voices Crux, Devin McLaughlin voices Vincenzo, Christian Cruz voices Black, Maganda Marie voices Grete, and Zoe D. Lee voices Missy.

Basically, it's mostly just me & outsourcing stuff to my friends and professionals.

Where do the funds go to?

Almost 100% gets poured back into the game. More voice acting, more music, more trailers, more art, etc. I also like to give my programmer a monthly tip for helping me.

This game is really my insane passion project, and I want to make it better with community support.

I live in the Philippines and the purchasing power of php is not high, especially since many of the people I outsource to prefer USD. (One time I spent P10k of my own money in one month just to get things.) I'll probably still do that, even if no money comes in, until I'm in danger of getting kicked out the street… but maybe even then? (jk)

What platforms will Reanimated Heart be released in?

Itch and then Steam when it's fully finished. Still looking into other options, as I hear both are getting bad.

Will Reanimated Heart be free?

Chapter 1 will be free. The rest will be updated on Patreon exclusively until full release.

Are you doing a mobile version?

Yeah. Just Android for now, but it's in the works.

Why didn't you answer my ask?

About the Eros Vampyre.

(Revamped for visibility.)

An Eros vampyre refers to a being of any form that feeds upon intimate love or lust. Eros vampyre has also been used interchangeably with “Pranic/Tantric vampyre."

Eros, as a concept related but separate to the god of love and sex, represents one of the four Greek Loves. It is passionate and sensual love, oftentimes resulting from sensual desire or activity. Eros is known as a life force similar to blood or the psyche, eros itself is a physical emotion expressed through psychosomatic means. Eros may make you lovesick or experience a state of overwhelming joy for love. Eros is the desire for wholeness and to be completed by another equal amount of eros from a source, whether that is yourself or another being (similar to sang vampyres feeding upon themselves).

I am of the belief that instead of being interchangeable with eros, that these concepts exist underneath the term eros vampyre as ranges of intensity of said love, with tantric being more emotional and spiritual way of feeding.

Tantra is an ancient Buddhist and Hindu practice that relates to weaving and creating woven spirits with either your own healing or aligned with others. It teaches the importance of celebrating the body and heightening sexuality and intimacy. Tantra and its practices, whether that look like yoga or meditation, have the ultimate goal of “playing” with the physical body's prana and “shaping it”. Tantra and tantric experiences don't require intimacy, it simply explores sexuality.

I also see the terms incubus, succubus, siren, and satyr in relation with eros vampyrism. These terms can be used as titles or as specific groupings for how an erosiyan feeds.

Traits I am a firm believer that traits between vampyres differ, either by age or by congenital changes.

The basic things apply to the vocal majority of vampyres:

“Auras” or output of energy that is like tendrils, moving mist, darker colors.

An “enhanced point” in the body that is used for feeding or collection (whether that be fangs, magick, craft, etc.)

Sense of weak to strong withdrawal

Below average life force that may or may not be detrimental and needs to be replenished

When specific to erosiyans:

Auras tend to glow from the darkness in the eyes of potential donors, lovers, or partners. A sparkling aura in the eyes of a donor may not be sparkling in the eyes of someone else.

The enhanced point are the eyes instead of fangs, as erosiyans don't have prominent fangs for, which is common in stories of love.

Eyes are said to be windows to the soul as well as being able to elicit erotic desire. “Getting lost in one's eyes,” can be applied to erosiyans with black or very dark eyes that share resemble to outer space or a black hole.

Eros originates from the eyes, and they glow or radiate when feeding.

Feeding Since erosiyans rely on their eyes, eros vampyres have the ability to feed exclusively with their eyes and the emotion given by the eyes. This may lean more into pranic eros with the spirit weaving. Physical intimacy can still be a part of it but it always comes after being fed or feeding, and will use the energy gained from "the tease" in order to participate.

Personally, I have fed both ways and can fit in the middle of the spectrum. In my experience, I have fed easily by pranic eros and with my eyes only. I go into constant limerence when I get hungry, and cannot let it go until I fed. I know my body and have responded accordingly for some time now - not only have I learned from experimenting but I have understood further what I would wish to see from others.

Eros is a life force that is stored within sensual and intimate acts of love. Eros vampyres feed upon eros, so it would need to be from that kind of love.

This concept may be similar to mirous attraction.

The designs can be anything under the sun; some of the designs Arianne's clients have sent are pictures of their pets, their favorite album covers, their favorite character, and even their own artworks! Arianne’s joy from collecting pins turned into something bigger; it was now Arianne who is sharing and sparking joy among her customers!

“I wanted to start a business out of something I enjoyed doing,” she said. “The idea mostly came from my struggle to find merchandise of a certain video game I like, and anything that was available on the market was outside of my budget.” She then started making her own button pins so that she could save money and have no need to buy merchandise online.

The launching of Solaris Pins was made possible with the help of her friends and family, shared Arianne. 

She said that her mother helped her manage the finance of the business while her friends helped her in her creative process. “She [my mother] helped me with the pricing of the products, as well as the calculations of everything down to the production costs and investment. On the creative side, I asked for advice from my friends regarding the aesthetics of the business's brand and the kind of products they would most likely buy.” It was a rocky start for Arianne but she persevered through the support she had.

The name Solaris Pins was also the result of Arianne brainstorming with her friends. It is actually inspired by a tale we might’ve heard from our childhood!

“...Icarus, who flew too close to the sun because of his own ambitions. Although the story is a bit grim, my friend insisted that I should use it as inspiration and 'shoot for the sun,' just as Icarus did,” said Arianne. Thus, Solaris came to be: Sol from the Roman sun god and Ari, Arianne's nickname.

What inspires you at the moment? Marla Obnamia from Batch 2029 definitely has some super cute and fluffy inspirations as seen in her business, marli.knots!

marli.knots offers handmade crochet keychains and charms all made from locally sourced materials. Marla shared that the designs she makes are from what currently inspires her! 

These crochet goodies range from 15 php to 159 php. Her bestsellers would be the Sunflower keychain, Daisy keychain, Rosie Posie bag charm, Lily of the Valley keychain, and her personal favorite, the Sad Hamster keychain! So many flowers! “I was drawn to crochet since it allowed me to create unique items with yarn, hook, and my hands,” said Marla.

Making crochet goods started as a hobby for Marla during the pandemic. Her sister, after seeing Marla's passion for crocheting, encouraged her to also start a business. (Marla's sister, Elle, is also featured in this article!) With her sister's support, she launched marli.knots last year on her birthday, January 21st, 2023! 

“The name came from an inside joke of me and Ate Elle, my older sister, when we were at the mall. She randomly said ‘Marli, no’ when she was telling me to stop, and it continued to ‘Marli, not’ to ‘Marli, knot’.” She shared that it was the perfect name as her nickname is Marli, and her yarn would get tangled up whenever she crochets.

Marla's sister served as a big inspiration for her. The love and support from her family pushed Marla to step out of her comfort zone and start marli.knots!

Elle and her group mates from Grade 10 started beadbadoobead together as a group project in Practical Arts. It started on March 23, 2023 and ended around May of the same year. Elle then decided to continue the business alone and launched her first collection last December 2023.

“Honestly, it was a big decision for our group to continue the business idea… After the group project, I saved all the money I got to start again from scratch. I didn’t want beadbadoobead go to (sic) waste after seeing its potential.”

After seeing the business’ potential, along with the support from the people around her, it gave her inspiration to start go solo. She also shared that she has always loved arts and crafts.

“I remember one time when my father used to make jokes when I was little, making little trinkets and crafts: ‘Uy, benta natin ‘yan gawa ka marami oh, ang ganda!’” She reminisced. “Little me would just laugh it off but who would tell her she’s doing exactly what the joke meant today? Other than that, I would say I am really a gift-giving person since birth. Making things like these make me happy and seeing people receive and buy them makes me happier. And that’s what beadbadoobead is!”

Wishlist: Starting a business. Where do you start?

Starting a business is hard, so how did they do it? It’s inspiring to see young students take a huge leap, start a business, and continue to operate alongside prioritizing their studies and other extracurricular activities! 

“Being a student, I've found that the most difficult part of owning a small business is to balance my school, work, and personal life with how busy it gets. I learned to manage my time by adhering to a schedule and setting priorities for myself.” 

Arianne acknowledges the added weight of being a small business owner as a student but is here to give a lot of advice for students who are interested in starting their own business: it all starts with planning. It might be stressful but is crucial to set the pacing of your workflow, she said. Organization is also important especially with financial matters. “Don't be shy and advertise your products, try to make pubmats if you can! (Dapat makapal mukha, hehehe!)” she shared; confidence is often overlooked when talking about business. Last but not least, Arianne reminds us that it's okay to take breaks and to always prioritize your health and well-being. 

“As a student who owns a business, it has taught me how to manage time and have discipline. It has helped me set boundaries and practiced (sic) planning ahead. It has helped me keep up a good mindset because even small achievements motivate me,” Marla shared.

Having your own business will definitely teach you a lot of things! Marla's advice for you aspiring student-entrepreneurs is to start with something you're passionate about. She also reminds us to find the lesson in everything, “Take small steps and learn as you go. Each experience will teach you something valuable”. Marla's last reminder for us is to stay true to yourself and to enjoy!

Mati shared that by running charms miscellanea, she realized how much work needs to be put in the business to provide good quality service to her customers. “I also learned how truly important it is to enjoy your craft in order to continuously create new and improved products!”

Mati also shares that income is key to a business, but what's important is you enjoy the products you make! 

“It is more important, in my eyes, to keep in mind that the more fun you have when creating your products, the more thought you will put into them. The care with which you make your products is definitely evident, so always make sure to enjoy what you are doing! It feels so much more accomplishing when you see somebody wear and use the things you'd created with such care, rather than just when you remember how much money you made upon selling them,” she shared.

As a student-entrepreneur, Elle shared that she learned the importance of balancing different parts of her life. beadbadoobead helped her be more approachable and it enhanced her communication skills! “This business taught me how to deal with problems, failures, and how to make use of my success to succeed even more. It also gives me self-value as I’m doing this all alone. It’s such an eye-opener that a lot of people love my crafts and their suggestions is (sic) never a negative thing to take, instead it is something the business would benefit from and is something my customers would like to see me do.”

They say that good things take time. Elle shares that aside from love and passion, you also need patience to be a successful student-entrepreneur.

“Start with something you love, continue doing it with love and patience, and people will love what you do.”

It's inspiring to see these entrepreneurs start young and create their own business whilst being a student! Daunting it may be, we can see that these entrepreneurs enjoy what they do, we see the effort and love they give for to their products and customers, and we see the patience each one of them has for their business; it truly is admirable!

As you go through your day, pray that the Holy Spirit would give you opportunities to serve others so that you can be a part of reaching people for God's Kingdom.

1. Were you named after anybody?

My grandma, kind of? My middle name anyway, which is the one I use. My first name, which I do not use, Came To My Mother in a Dream, so.

2. When was the last time you cried?

I’m getting better about this, so the answer is no longer “on the highway seven years ago”. I think I kinda hunched over and made guttural noises because the world was too much for a moment a couple days ago.

3. Do you have kids?

That is so incredibly not in the cards.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Would I do that?

5. What sports do you play/have played?

If I had played sports at some point maybe I would’ve been a little less *gestures at everything* but no, the closest I got was Renaissance Fencing Club (we weren’t allowed to call it Fight Club but it was the Swing Bamboo Sticks at Each Other club).

6. What's the first thing you notice about someone?

Usually that they are talking to me because god. god. I am so spacey.

7. Eye color?

Greenish.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Why not both? But no I am a sucker for a happy ending.

9. Any special talents?

I can debug really unintuitive Python and PHP errors, and sometimes Javascript, especially if it’s a type issue. (It’s usually a type issue.) I can recite Galadriel’s Lament in Lothlorien from memory, in Elvish. I seem to be developing a bit of a green thumb? Oh! I can re-finish a wood floor!

Not in Michigan.

11. What are your hobbies?

House plants, making chainmaille fidget toys, making art for friends, writing for friends, reading with friends, bothering the cat, cooking I guess.

At no point in my life, except in the college dorms, have I lived without a cat. King Chonk is my current orange beast.

I swear I used to be 5’8 but I guess I slouch now because the doctor’s office is consistently measuring 5’7 💀

14. Favorite subject in school?

Whichever class I was in at the moment tbh. Except history, I never got the hang of history.

15. Dream job?

God I really enjoyed transcribing when I did that for a bit, if only the income was remotely livable. I also love doing image descriptions. I just like taking things from one format and putting them in another format. The problem is I end up hating any passion project once I have to do it for money / to someone else’s demands, so “dream job” isn’t something I really think about.

"I want to be a developer"

Sometimes I wonder if this phrase from the job interview was the reason why exactly I was chosen among other people to be accepted to work in the company. Seriously, I performed really so-so, answered some questions and didn't answer the others, while being overall extremely nervous and anxious. Could I make a good impression back then?

In the very end of the job interview, they asked me: "what do you plan to do next?". And I said exactly what was in my mind and heart, that, no matter if I'm going to be accepted by their company or not, I will continue to study programming until I'll finally be able to become a good developer. And I was surprised myself how passionate that my phrase from the title sounded in result…

I was trying to control myself, but I guess I failed because of being worried? Who knows. I wanted to become a developer since being 15-16 y.o, I actually love creating my own programs and reading programming-related sites, but after graduation from uni I ended up not being able to find job for more than a year, experiencing constant humilitation from my father, HRs and myself. Of course I want to get a job exactly in this sphere, otherwise I'd give up long time ago!!!

And now it's been more than 4 weeks already, when I'm finally working officially as a trainee PHP backend developer in one of the best companies of the country, but the only thing I wish for is that I'll finally be able to stop being a failure, who constantly fail, fail at everything I touch. I wonder what the person, the head of backend department, who participated in my job interview, thinks about it now… The people here are super kind and nice, and the company is working on very cool projects, so I feel that it's a really rare, precious chance to work in such a dream company, but I wonder if I can do better than I'm doing already. Company Interviews — Week 11-12

For the sixth part (Week 11-12) of our Technopreneurship project, we continued our journey of interviewing local businesses to gain further insights into the challenges and successes that they face. After speaking with twenty-five companies from the last ten weeks, we continued to look for companies within the city proper to learn more about the lives and experiences of business owners, employees, and their business operations. My group mates are Annriza Lam, Francis Padero, and Honey Rhose Petil, who I collaborated with for this project.

To gather the information that we needed, we printed out a questionnaire that contained separate questions for owners, employees, and general questions about the business. This serves as our guide. We also used our phones to record their responses and capture photos of the interview and the business, if ever the interviewees were comfortable with it.

1. KDA WEDDINGS AND EVENTS SERVICES

We first visited KDA Weddings and Events Services, a company primarily engaged in wedding planning, event styling, and wedding coordination. Located at the corner of Capistrano Street and Gomez Street in Cagayan de Oro (CDO), this publicly owned business operates within the retail and services industry. According to the owner, Lowella Branzuela Alemendrala, KDA Weddings and Events Services was established in 2008, initially starting as a small eatery. The company then grew over the years, becoming a publicly owned business with nine branches. The company is also associated with several companies such as MasterTech Computer Trading (Velez and Iligan branches), KDA Homes (Agora branch), KDA Dry Goods Trading (Velez branch), Khean Toys and Party Needs (Capistrano and Mabini streets), 4Kings Event Center (Uptown branch), Kelsey Gowns (J.R. Borja), 4Kings Apparel (J.R. Borja), and KDA Bridal Gallery (Capistrano Street). The wedding boutique itself began with a capitalization of just PHP 15,000, according to Lowella.

2. FONTINBLEAU TRADING

After that, we then visited Fontinbleau Trading located at Cruz Taal Street. Established in 2008, the business operates in the manufacturing and distribution industry, specializing in salon and spa products that it sources from other businesses. Fontinbleau Trading is a privately owned company and is fully owned and operated by its founder, Mrs. Corazon Duterte. With its main office in Davao, it operates a single branch and expands its reach through Facebook promotions and a Shopee online store.

3. BEAN MATTERS: COFFEE | COLLECTIONS / IZBRANO CAFE + BOUTIQUE

This cafe is located at Cinco Building, Pabayo Gomez, Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro and was established in early 2023. Co-owned by Joshua Baja and his uncle, the business combines a coffee shop and a boutique, offering a unique concept where customers can enjoy coffee while browsing luxury bags, clothes, and perfumes. The boutique also has a small display at another location, though it is not considered a separate branch. The business operates in both the service and retail industries, serving food and beverages while selling fashion items. It is fully owned and started as a small startup, inspired by Joshua's mother's passion for fashion and his uncle’s love for coffee.

4. AMBER CAFE

Amber Cafe, which is located on M.H. Del Pilar, Velez Street, Cagayan de Oro, was established in March 2023. Operated under the cooperative Embernxt I.T. Solutions, it serves coffee, pastas, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, rice bowls, and refreshments like non-coffee and ice-blended drinks. What sets Amber Cafe apart, according to the barista we interviewed, is the quality of its products, making sure to prioritize health benefits by using mostly organic ingredients and avoiding preservatives like super concentrated syrups with added sugars. It has one physical store, with its main office being in Nazareth. Belonging to the food and beverage industry, the cafe is part of a cooperative managed by members with backgrounds in IT, hospitality, and financial services. With over ₱500,000 invested in equipment, renovations, and operations, the business was founded out of the owner’s passion for coffee, inspired by a place where customers can enjoy quality beverages in a comfortable setting. Despite the usual challenges of running a cafe, Amber Cafe continues to grow steadily.

5. ILHAM GADGETS

Lastly, we visited ILham Gadgets, located on Yacapin Street, Cagayan de Oro, which specializes in selling Apple products through both retail and wholesale. Established in 2019 by Aslima Ahmad and Farhan Launto, the business began as a subrenter in Divisoria with an initial capitalization of ₱150,000. Sourcing original products from Hong Kong, the company has grown to secure its own space and is now accredited by the Bureau of Internal Revenue. Privately owned and operating a single branch, ILham Gadgets was inspired by the owners’ brothers and sisters, who were also involved in selling gadgets.

It's 1:57 am PHP time. Alone in my quiet room with the loudest voice inside my head. A painful part of being in love is when you deeply want to be with that person yet you cannot. The world is so cruel. I know deep down inside me that I wanted to be with him but things doest go that way.

We meet at the wrong time. We don't know why we are destined to cross paths yet in the end we will separate our ways. He always told me "Siguro bigay lang ako ng Dios para turuan ka, para maging buo ka and tatangalin nya ako". Yes! He fixed me, I became more mature in life.

Let me tell you a short story about our love. We met in Qatar, I was his Manager and he is my chef. He tours me in the vicinity area and I still remember how serious he was. Fast forward, we started talking about work and sharing some ideas since we love the food industry. I am amazed at how talented he was in the art of cooking. He was so passionate enough that his frenzied mind could create a different dish. One day, I saw him crying because he found out that her wife was cheating on her. And that was the time that I felt pity for him. How could this very wonderful soul be threatened like that? Why some people will try to hurt us despite all the effort? Maybe because we are selfish and we just only love ourselves. I know I am not in the authority to say this because I also did what his partner did to him. I told him that I could be his shoulder to cry on. And that is the start that we shared our thoughts about Life. I became so complacent with him that I started to share my experience and trauma. I didn't expect that one day I would meet someone willing to listen and understand what I have been going through. Finally, for the very longest time in my journey, I can now be weak. I felt secure when I was with him. When I speak, he listens, when I cry he wipes away my tears. It was funny because he was the one who had been going through yet the situation became upside down.

I am also in a long-distance relationship with my common-law partner. The problem is, we've been living together for a decade yet I feel empty that I need to be strong because he is always weak. I felt that he was not my companion but rather a person who was still there but did not exist.

I always believe that if you truly love a person you would not fall in love with another one. But I did! I fell in love with Toper. I know and I feel it. Maybe because I saw something in him that even words cannot describe.

Time passed by, and we need to decide whether we continue this relationship or not. I need to choose between them. I didn't choose but he is the one who chose for me. He decided to let me go. Despite everything that happened to us, he still thinks about what's best for me.

At that very moment, my whole body started to freeze, I didn't feel anything but only sadness. I was so scared that I could only hear the teardrops.

Until now, I still feel the pain. I still feel that there's something inside me that needs to be fixed again. If only I could turn back time, I would wait for this moment when I will meet him.

One day if we cross our path, I hope it will be the Right time, the Right Place with the Right Person.

Mitigating Harm

if you are determined to homeschool, or are currently homeschooling, I will share with you one method of mitigating harm, and that is a diversity of instruction.

By diversity, I simply mean you ought not to be teaching every subject to your child and your child ought not to be repeating the same subjects. For instance, most public schools do not introduce elective subjects until freshman year. A Homeschooling Parent (HP) should begin doing so immediately. The elective class should be one of your child's choosing, though it might be helpful to give them a short list if they're undecided or unfamiliar with the concept. (i.e. Robotics, Egyptology, French, Paleontology, etc.) Keep in mind 2 things with electives: First, they should last a general semester - that is, fall to Christmas, or Christmas to summer - and then change. Second, you may have to scale down an existing high school or college curriculum to meet your learner if they've picked a subject not often offered to a child his or her age.

Diversity of instructors is easily achieved if you know where to look. I was able to pluck an honors student in his senior year from a nearby college town to teach my student in their mutual area of interest for a semester. I have incorporated live classes with licensed teachers from Outschool on a recurring, weekly basis in the past. Bringing in experienced music or art teachers is easy, even for a novice. It's honestly easier than ever in this day and age to find people with solid, educational credentials and affordable, reasonable compensation rates.

I never brought these instructors in because I was incapable of teaching my child. I was. But it was my responsibility to provide the variety of interaction and instruction she needed and her peers were receiving. By limiting myself to an average of 3 subjects per semester, I could confine my hands on involvement where I thought it would have the best effect. The enthusiasm, passion, and temperaments of other instructors could then be brought to bear where their effect would be greatest, as well. My attempts at teaching History to my child, for instance, bored my child to tears. They did not yield the same results as a personal tutor I found who had a talent for bringing the strangest events of the past to light and incorporating interesting facts to grab the attention of any child, especially when they found they had free reign to structure their class time in any fashion they liked. (This is crucial, by the way, for obvious reasons. )

It is imperative as a PHP or a HP you mitigate harm to your child, and diversity in instruction is a best practice whether you knew it or not. After all, you wouldn't hire the same person to fix your plumbing as you would your roof, would you?
