I don't really think to put specific numbers on characters most of the time because I personally get really anxious about rankings 🤡 According to the same friends that said all of this though, they basically agree that L*ona is pretty much second place or that L*ona has already surpassed J word. A particular friend likes to joke that “it’s Leover”, and another one says, “it’s like Raven divorced J word for L*ona”. And honestly 💦💦 if I'm being 100% truthful, I'm a little scared myself that some cat boy I disliked back in 2020 will shoot right up to the very top 💀 When I think about that... OOooOoOooooOOOGH, IT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS BECAUSE HE'D BE SO ANNOYING AND SMUG ABOUT WINNING FOR ONCE. Finally clawing his way up from rock bottom... past second place (where he was perpetually trapped for most of his life; second place to his older brother, second place to that lizard, second place to eel)... to snatch the crown from the jaws of defeat... 💢 (You can't see it, but I'm pounding the wall with my fists--)

BUT IT'S OKAY, IT'S OKAY GUYS (<- huffing copium) IT'S JUST THE CONTENT RELEASE BIAS... Like, L*ona has gotten SO much more focus recently that it might be a little unfair to compare the two right now??? He got that Nightmare Suit SSR and played an important role in the Halloween event, then immediately got his time to shine in his book 7 dream, on top of us being forced to go through all five Heartslabyul dreams with him. That's not even mentioning the fact that the Episode of Savanaclaw manga is hyping us up for his OB reveal in January, or his hometown event rerun that's currently going on in the JP server. I keep telling myself that as soon as J word gets a new exciting SSR or story content that I'll swing right back around to him 😭 He hasn't gotten anything substantial lately... And let's be honest here, L*ona has a complete advantage no matter what the situation is for J word simply because L*ona is a dorm leader and an OB boy. There will always be more attention and detail showered upon him and his development over J word's OTL There's just... more L*ona lore to chew on. The other part of it is a large chunk of what I discuss on this blog comes from interactions with my readers. If readers submit more asks about L*ona, then I'll naturally talk about him more. Pair this with the guarantee that he's getting more screen time because of the remaining Heartslabyul dreams, and it becomes constant lion reinforcement.

INTRO POST:

So, I'm running this account as a Nico di Angelo rp/slice of life account (If you want to do a rp, submit a question in the "Ask Me Anything" blue button at the top of the blog). For people who don't know, Nico di Angelo is a book character from the Percy Jackson book series (who had his own book (The Sun and The Star)) and is my favorite character in the whole series (Leo and Will fighting for second, and Mrs. O'leary, Tyson, and Ella having a place in my heart for First and a half place, then Hazel, then Percy and Annabeth in fourth place). But anyways, I like writing and poetry with occasional side of photography, I also LOVE art (and fanart) and am writing my own story about my own characters inspired by the Percy Jackson series and Steven Universe show. I gave a rough draft of the first few chapters of it to my friends in middle school and they absolutely loved it, so I might upload occasional anecdotes of rough drafts I have. That or the occasional character analysis of my characters.

i am a strong defender of mj and literally vow to make his innocence known. this page is also for educating people on what MJ went through and the horrible pain and suffering he went through due to the false allegations bound upon him. our poor baby was brutally misunderstood and treated like such a monster, in no way would i ever wish for anyone to endure the suffering he went through. Michael Jackson was not some fictional character from a book or movie, he was a human being with emotions and feelings.

I'll be honest and say that I didn't reblog the ask-game, but this is still gonna make me sob??? Hello?!?! Thank you so much?!?!? I'm so glad that my little (well, "little") essays can be fun to read!

But man, it's like Karamatsu was designed to make me yap. His entire damn franchise is, really. There's so many different rabbit holes you can go down; the show, the manga, the artbooks, the character books, the interviews, the games, the live shows, the 50 million official AUs... there's so much... so many Karamatsus...

Him being my "main" F/O is definitely a part of it too, lmao. And the fact he's the F/O that's been around the longest. I have like 5 years worth of self-ship lore I can revisit and rehash. It's awful. I'm stuck in an actual loop. Please send help-

Anyways, my other lads do deserve some essays and spam-posting too, this is true! I'll have to start keeping better track of my thoughts; I know I have the essays in my head, but they always come and go. Hopefully I don't get sidetracked by Season 4 for too terribly long, lol! WIP INTRO ✵ THE EMIPRE’S THIEVES

KINGDOMS WITHOUT LIGHT. GODS WITHOUT FREEDOM. HEROES WITHOUT HOPE.

In the Mortal Realms, the sky has been dark and cold for as long as anyone can remember, cursed by an eternal winter that smothers the earth beneath shadow and ice. Fire is a scarce luxury only few can afford, and it is beginning to die out, snuffed by the hands of the gods ─ fast.

But hope is not lost. Five demigods roam the cities, bleeding and scavenging in the name of survival, killing and thieving without mercy, without hope. When they are called upon to do the unthinkable, to steal fire from the gods themselves, to restore light to Evaria, they will walk between realms, through hell, from death. They will blacken their hands with gore and smoke and ash. It has been a long time since heroes have walked the earth, but they are not heroes: they are thieves.

And together, this could mean the beginning.

Or perhaps, this means the end.

since the morning it seems like an ordinary day, your boyfriend came to you in the morning to take you to school and as usual he went to his "work".

so you found yourself in the afternoon alone in your room, grabbed some snacks and started watching your favorite movie.

Despite the sense of sadness, you wiped your tears and ignored it, until your phone pattern lit up. It was a notification, and it was from Ran.

"Get ready and get out ". Thinking it was something serious you settled down slightly and rushed out of the house, where you found your boyfriend to wait for you.

He was wearing a black smoking, and his hair pulled back into a bun, a light thread of eyeliner and a such a reassuring expression.

"hey y/n...were you crying?" he asked.

"uhm..no...not at all. But why are you so elegant"

"oh love, it's your birthday, how could I not be? "

Your eyes lit up, and your heart started beating faster.

"c'mon let's go. I'll take you out to dinner in a special place. ” You were still freezed, he grabbed your wrist and led you to the restaurant where he had booked.

"You know, I've been organizing this for quite a while, I hope you like it." he said looking away, blushing slightly.

The place was perfect, there were few people and the soft light made the atmosphere even more romantic. You were still very excited, but there was no embarrassment, you thanked him and enjoyed the evening.

"Don't think it's over here" he told you when you two left the restaurant.

"uhm do u trust me?"

You nodded, and he tied a blindfold around your eyes. He pulled you close to him and guided you to a special place

when he took off your blindfold, the view was breathtaking

A huge expanse of stars, where it seemed almost possible to touch them. The lights of the city and the sounds of the animals made everything even more magical.

Before you could I would say anything, he silenced you with a kiss, and in the meantime he put a clip in your hair.

"I took this a while ago, it reminded me of you and I was sure it would look great on you."

And in that magical atmosphere you sat hugged to contemplate the beautiful panorama <3

"happy birthday love" were the last words you heard before falling asleep in his arms.

MITSUYA TAKASHI

So your boyfriend forgot your birthday too? The only thing he left you was the usual note that said "today will be a long day for me, see you tonight" and that message was so cold.

It was 3pm when you heard your doorbell ring. You opened it and the only thing you found was a small box outside the door. You opened it, and there was another note in it. "Smell this letter, and you will understand where to go" despite the amazement you did.

It had an intense jasmine scent, the same that you and Mitsuya smelled every time when he walked you home. So you headed down that road.

There you met Draken, who after greeting you and wishing you a birthday, gave you a small package.

You opened it and you found a drawing of a brioches and a cofee. Like what mitsuya brought you every morning. So you headed to your fav bar, where you found the owner who handed you a cupcake and told you that someone was waiting for you outside.

You went out and found Chifuyu and Takemichi waiting for you.

"I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION" you yelled, and just when you looked up, you found Mitsuya that was staring at you and smiling softly.

"the solution is "happy birthday my love" " you said.

"oh so you quickly found the solution" he replied before giving you a kiss on you nose.

"I'm proud of you darling, I hope you enjoyed this little game, now come with me and I'll take you to the final prize"

He took you by the hand, and led you to the roof of an abandoned building. From there you could see a beautiful sunset and there was a large tarp filled with snacks and drinks.

After you sat down, he pulled out a gift.

"here, this is for you, I did it so it won't be perfect. I really hope you like them"

They were beautiful white gloves, exactly your size.

"oh, they're so beautiful. Thank you so much Takashi" u said smiling at him.

"Everything for you" he told you before approaching you. So you stayed close to watch the beautiful sunset

CHIFUYU MATSUNO

It was such a busy day that you didn't even have a second to dedicate to yourself, even though it was your birthday.

Also, your boyfriend hadn't written or called you, maybe he just forgot about it you tought. As soon as you got home, you were very tired, but a delicious smell of pizza invaded your nostrils. You followed the perfume and in the kitchen you found Chifuyu that was cooking

He had a funny pink apron, and he was intending to get the pizza out of the oven.

"Y/N- uhm I didn't hear you" he yelled as soon as you saw. You started laughing, it was so funny seeing him with a face full of flour and ruffled hair

"It's a surprise. You g-go to rest, I'm almost done".

So you went for a quick shower and then changed. When you went out they were off, not all the lights no noise. Although you were a little scared, you headed for the room and as soon as you entered, the big light came on and a large table set up before you.

Shortly thereafter Chifuyu appeared and made his way towards you. He took you by the hand saying:

"here at your table, I hope you like it" and as a gentelman, he married the chair for you to sit on.

" It took me a while, but I'm pretty sure all your favorite foods are there," he said, stammering slightly and now his face was very red.

"It's all so good !! How long did it take you?"

"let's forget the time- the important thing is that you like it"

And you two continued to eat, it was all very good and all your favorite dishes were on that table<3

As soon as you finished, he ran to get a small box. "Well, since today is your birthday I got this for you. Close your eyes please."

You did what he said and felt warm hands moving your hair. To put you a necklace.

As soon as you opened your eyes you saw yourself in a mirror, it was such a beautiful necklace

"chifuyu, it's so pretty, thank you so much"

"Y/N, I'M SO HAPPY YOU LIKE" and he hugged you without thinking.

It seemed that all the exhaustion had been replaced by pure happiness.

" uh and it's not over yet, " he added. Soon after you were out, he let you get on his bike without telling you where you were going.

Until he stopped in front of the cinema, you entered and the hall was completely empty. It was literally just the two of you watching the movie

"Chifuyu, what are we going to see?"

"oh, you'll find out love". And your film started

It was your favorite movie, but how was it possible? It hadn't gone out to the cinema.

"WAIT Chifuyu how did you do it ?? How is it possible"

"shh, happy birthday" and saying this, he put his head on your shoulder and you watched that movie laughing and commenting happy <3

Hello everyone! 

We’re back with our final spooky season read! This weekend, we read In the Room Where You Sleep by blurhawaii. 

This fic is tense, spine-chilling, and absolutely timeless. It comes packed with hair-raising moments, punchy tension-breaking banter, and the one thing in any spooky shyan fic that unnerves almost everyone one of us while reading: when Shane starts to get a little unnerved himself. 

Rating: M

Summary:

Hunched over on himself on the bottom step of the staircase, Ryan throws out the term ‘tulpa’ for the camera and then has to backtrack when Shane cuts in, wait, wait, wait, just a second here, a what?

A tulpa, Ryan explains in the thoughtfully stressed voice he uses to info-dump, is a Tibetan concept where a thought or an object has been manifested through an intense focus of spiritual or mental energy.

The idea is simply that if enough people believe this house has the ability to swallow them whole then, unknowingly, they might have given life to the very concept itself.

Book Club Thoughts

I liked a lot the setting of the fic, the disconcerting sense of things not being quite okay, and the imagined horrors slowly turning real.

all the descriptions of how dark and cavernous the house felt in its incomprehensible hallways and rooms was so terrifying, but so well done

the whole fic's such a good metaphor for anxiety, really--the house picking the things out of his brain that he hates about himself and using them against him

I especially enjoy the way the author can build our emotions up using Shane's emotions. Like yes, we're in Ryan's POV, and he's going to be heart-stoppingly afraid the entire while, but as every ep of BFU SPN has shown, Ryan's emotions rely very heavily on Shane's to keep them in check in spooky locales, and he doesn't really have that luxury here

the atmosphere in this story was so real and oppressive and Extremely well done, so much so that i even enjoyed the ending which in any other fic would probably have frustrated me. i love the snapshot snippet type sections, the way the story is told through the camera and through ryan’s thoughts, how us only getting these sections mirrors their own limited view with their flashlights within the story.

it's fascinating how good the balance is between character perspective and "you are literally watching this footage" was, fully immersive yet didn't break  the illusion

yeah I LOVED the bits where it was being told by someone watching the footage

the choice to frame it like that was so smart, i bet it must have made it so much easier to control the pacing and keep only the good bits

I also super agree w the sentiment abt it feeling found footagey which yall know is my jam. That sorta thing takes real skill to convey in written word, I think, to capture the essence of that particular genre n this fic did so rly well

The dialogue in this was so on-point and so real. Like, it really did sound like exchanges they would be having in this nightmare situation

i guess to say it ends with a thud is incorrect, it's more like it ends on an inhale, which is so so good because the broad stretches of the setting felt like it was wrapped around them almost suffocatingly that I was waiting for some kind of relief but it just doesn't and that is scarier than anything. I kinda feel like i'm still trapped in that state of waiting for them to be free so i can breathe.

kudos to this author because i was stock still reading this entire thing like some sort of fic paralysis

this is one of those rare ones that stay with you forever throughout life. that make you go, "ah, this reminds me of a story i once read" a few years in the future. this is one that sticks with you, one that influences how you see things, maybe even how writers write things. this is a special one

u asked someone to remind you to post about your pjo dual protagonist thalia/bianca au and i am SO intrigued by this idea please say more

ok y’all i’m here...the moment almost none of y’all have been waiting for....bianca/thalia protagonists with alternating pov’s au

warning it’s kind of super long and may or may not read like a 2nd grader’s semi-coherent game of pretend so under the cut it goes!

so the main things you need to know about this au are 1. thalia survives and 2. annabeth’s + luke’s ages are a lil diff bc canon is my sandbox 3. i can’t decide if percy exists in this au or not (maybe y’all can help me decide?)

so the first book:

would start a few months after grover brought thalia (12), luke (13), and annabeth (10, not 7)  to camp half blood. they were chased by monsters sent by hades on the way, and thalia almost didn’t survive, but ultimately she got lucky and managed to send a bolt of lightning through her spear for the first time and they made it into camp

it’s been some time so annabeth is happy as a clam in the athena cabin doing her 10-year-old-with-severe-mommy-issues thing and luke is actually pretty popular with the hermes cabin bc he actually Met Their Dad Holy Shit and also he’s getting pretty good with a sword

at the same time, thalia is alone in the zeus cabin. everyone has been freaking out bc they all saw the huge bolt of lightning that incinerated a couple hellhounds as they made their grand entrance and What The Fuck Child Of The Big Three???

she’s also further isolated because chiron will take her for private training sessions sometimes, since she is clearly really powerful already and also Hades Himself was trying to kill her (chiron told her the reason was the big three’s pledge not to have kids, and maybe about the great prophecy? if he tells her that then she’s sworn to secrecy)

once grover leaves on another protector assignment, thalia mostly hangs out with luke, and annabeth. luke + annabeth both will try to eat meals with her at the zeus table but annabeth doesn’t want to get in trouble and luke is genuinely making friends in the hermes cabin so thalia will feel bad sometimes and send him back

kronos, seeing this bitter isolated child of the big three’s dreams: it’s free real estate

MEANWHILE

hades is Pissed that thalia survived and zeus got to break their oath And get the glory of a prophecy child

so he sends someone to take bianca (12) and nico (10) out of the lotus hotel and casino a little early.

grover is still their protector, but since the Stirring hasn’t begun in earnest yet and hades is lowkey determined to keep them safe, they make it back to camp half blood with no escort/incident

bianca + nico are put into the hermes cabin, and luke kinda takes them under his wing bc while he’s not bitter he still needs therapy bc this 14 year old has never met a pre-teen he couldn’t try to parent

luke introduces nico and annabeth since they’re the same age and they become really good friends!! she Loves mythomagic and he thinks her dagger is super cool and they’re both just really excited about camp <3

bianca is more reserved and resistant to the whole thing, and she wanders around alone exploring and runs into thalia in the zeus cabin

at this first meeting they get into a bit of a fight bc bianca is still in shock/denial about the gods being real, but thalia at this point has zero patience for this

anyway after that and maybe another scuffle during capture the flag or something they hit it off and become best friends in the way girls can, especially bonding over how they’ve both had to take on raising annabeth and nico basically on their own at the age of 12

~QUEST TIME~

thalia is given a quest for [unspecific reason] and chooses bianca and luke, they go off leaving annabeth and nico frustrated at home

quest hijinks etc, bianca is trying to figure out her parentage + her weird mysterious powers? and thalia is arguing with luke because he’s settling into camp/hero life really well actually but she’s getting progressively angrier with the gods for trying to kill her and also keeps getting dreams from kronos and doesn’t get why he doesn’t seem to remember all of the shit that the gods have put him through

bianca + thalia have las-vegas-style-heart-to-hearts where thalia shares her tragic backstory about her mother and her brother and how hades tried to kill her and even about the great prophecy and how she’s trying on this quest bc of that and her dad but at the same time these dreams are making her suspicious that he might’ve been responsible for her mom’s death.

bianca then shares her own stuff, about how terrified she was being on her own with nico having to protect him but also not remembering most of her childhood and not remembering her parents or how she ended up in the care of this lawyer and just the absolute mindfuckery that her memories/past are

luke is asleep in those scenes i guess lol 🧍‍♂️

anyway eventually they finish their quest in this massive climactic battle where bianca discovers her powers in a huge-showy-”i’m the ghost prince”-way and is formally claimed by hades which thalia sees as this Massive Betrayal obviously and bianca is horrified too because she knows what hades did to thalia but at the same time she’s just so happy to finally understand at least part of her past

thalia just reaches a breaking point though because everyone around her just doesn’t understand her anger and just when she thought she had found another sympathetic person who understood what she was going through she joins hades??? no. no fucking way. kronos reveals that he’s the one who has been sending her dreams, prob by sending some messenger who he possesses or smthing and when he offers thalia the chance to join him? she does (dun dun dun)

main beats of the rest of the series:

thalia and bianca on opposite sides of the war training to be the prophecy child, they come together a Lot and have like melodramatic fight scenes where they talk out their anger and try to get the other to join them bc they don’t want to kill each other

luke is extremely conflicted/betrayed and there’s a titan’s curse moment prob towards the end of the third book where they’re fighting and thalia is trying to get her to go with him but here he actually does go to join her (gasp!!) and is evil for at least one book but his heart’s not in it and he goes back to the good side eventually

by the point of luke’s betrayal, annabeth and nico are growing and developing and old enough to go on quests w bianca and by the last book they’re a main trio of sorts and their hypothetical character development is already making me emotional

there’s just a lot of general sexiness with foils and inner conflicts and bianca doesn’t even want to be the prophecy child but she needs to for the fate of the world and bianca is so angry at thalia bc thalia is a daughter of zeus and could control her powers and is perfect and just meant to be the prophecy kid, not some daughter of hades who they didn’t even have a cabin for before

hm maybe by either the last or second-to-last book thalia + bianca are close to reconciling or at least their interests are aligned for the moment and they read the text of the prophecy together and things go Wild bc they both think “single choice shall end his days” either is about luke or nico and it turns up the gas to their fighting both of them care about both of them and yeah

and then i can’t decide if there’s romantic arcs at all but if there were it would go like this:

just a dash of thaluke where at first it was luke having a one-sided crush but thalia misses him a Lot after she goes to kronos and wonders if it’s that she misses him or if it’s something More until to get him to defect there’s like a melodramatic moment in the fight where thalia kisses him and they go off to be Evil Together but it ends bc luke doesn’t believe in the cause and only joined her in hopes of getting thalia back to his side

once luke leaves/is kicked out thalia realizes that she didn’t love luke she just wanted a family and also in the second half of the series she realizes she’s a lesbian as a parallel to her redemption arc

bianca meanwhile is unconcerned w romance until she has her botl-hoe-moment where within one book she 1. runs into the hunters on a quest and has a thing with zoe nightshade who tries to get her to join plus tells her about that time she met thalia, 2. she goes to calypso’s island and falls in love w her in the moonlight or w/e and has her what-if moment, and 3. when they meet up that book thalia somehow knew abt zoe + calypso and seems almost angrier abt them  than the war?? weird bc bianca knows that thalia is Totally Straight right??

my main point is that bianca/thalia is our friends-to-enemies-to-lovers endgame thank you i will take my pulitzer now

ok ok so

Dynasty Warriors games generally follow a romanticized/fictionalized story of the fall of the Han Dynasty, specifically based on the version in the book "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". it has very, again, romanticized and exaggerated story and often inaccurate esp in the games, which often have routes for indiviudal characters to play through - and obviously in those cases, the characters always don't die/show up at the right times.

but anyway, the story is kidna the same throughout the games I've played, BUT they tend to throw in new gameplay gimmicks and different variations of the events. E.G. the "Yellow Turban Rebellion" battle often happens, but in DW6 it was depicted as happening on a desert stage. In DW7, they had it happen in a more mountainous and greener region. now which one is more accurate i dont know actually, im not familiar with ancient china's geography

anyway thats all ill dump for this ask but its a lot of fun as a hack n slash game goes
