Had to get blood work done, scheduled an appointment for last Thursday, get there at like noon and find out the doctor ordered a test that had to be done between 7 and 9 and no one thought to tell me.
Whatever, rescheduled for today. I had to fast again but now I'm in another bout of gut issues™ that mean I couldn't take my anxiety meds on an empty stomach, bc I will barf blood about it.
Arrive go through check in and everythings good to go, Immediate sobbing panic attack as soon as the needle is in. Nurse can't get the draw to work and there's no chance of me being able to calm enough for a second stick to go any better.
Wish me luck for the third try in another week. I do not plan to be sober at it.
#back when one of my physicians still printed out patient files the total sum of blood work id had up to that point#ate an entire ream of paper. and that was over a decade ago at this point#Exposure therapy will not fix this level of a phobia unfortunately.#bc ive had plenty of exposure and the panic gets a little bit worse every time.

i tried printing my pin designs at the ups store but the machine added margins to the paper (even though it said there would be NO margins, mind you) which completely ruined the sizes of the designs..... _(´ཀ`」∠)_ guess i'm gonna have to go to a real print shop instead of taking the convenient option...... SIIIIIIIIGH

cards calendar...? i haven't made july-december yet but i think these turned out cute :)
#nonsense radio#once i finish the last 6 months im gonna get it printed at the library :)#each page is designed for 8.5x10 paper because i always forguet that there are different sizes of office paper#for june i very deliberately tried to pick something Other than blue for the outline colors but i think it's really cute#if i were to go back and do it again i think i'd switch may's highlight color to be the red of tsugu's keyboard#i'd pick a more intense color for march too like i wish it was more saturated#for january i honestly don't know... maybe the golden/bronze color? or the yellow would work#but i am so very tired#and lost the file for january...#and march...#edit: edited may but still can't edit march or january lol

i got a printer (finally!!!) and decided to typeset/print out those essays DT wrote on romeo & juliet + as you like it as a little test run of it's capabilities :) it still needs some color calibration before i print anything serious but i think these came out cuteeee

fingers crossed maybe i can turn in my name change petition today
#this is going to sound stupid but i cant figure out. how to file a petition to do it.#all the resources just say file a petition and im like ok how. do i just bring the paperwork to the courthouse and turn it in#do i mail it somewhere do i make an appointment. idk#so i have everything printed out and im in town anyway so im just gonna go to the court and ask lol#and im kind of hoping theyll be like yep just give me those papers. but if not at least they will tell me what i have to actually do#avpost#im just nervous bc im gonna look like an idiot walking up like hiii. how do i file a petition here....#everyone i know only changed their names for marriage and divorce and also it wasnt in this county#so since the rules vary so much everywhere they cant rlly help that much.

printed-out private fanfic collections my beloved
#that's it. that's the post#do I sometimes feel guilty for having a bunch of fic printed out? yeah. idk if it's morally grey or wrong or ok these days#it started out as necessity because I didn't have a computer of my own and reading queer fic wasn't sth you could be too open about#(though I guess using up my dad's scrap paper piles that had math equations on one side may not have been the most inconspicuous)#anyway. sometimes I'll remember a story and I know I will be able to find it because my idiot teen self printed it out and filed it away#and sometimes it turns out you can't find that fic on ao3 because it's ffnet only. and worse sometimes it no longer exists online at all#and that makes me sad. but knowing someone deleted it and I still have a bootleg copy makes me feel guilty#so I guess I'm just stuck in this dual state#I think it beats the lingering sadness of wanting to reread a very specific story that's ingrained in your very being..#..and finding there is not a trace of it anywhere online#like. I KNOW that I read a Myka/Claudia story that had them holed up in a cabin somewhere hiding from some terrifying dude of sorts#(not that I remember the details) I just remember there being a lake and it being the story that got me into WH13#which.. was a fucking blessing. and I searched all of the place for that story years later#went through most of the Myka/Claudia fic and yet never found it again. and nobody I asked remembered it either#so maybe I dreamed it up? but I kinda doubt it. ANYWAY sometimes a fic filed away in an old folder is what saves your sanity

I have this feeling that I have unofficial beef with my neighbor...
#text#okay so if you wanna know:#this old lady above our apartment didn't like me even before I moved in#when she first met me we had some guys over who uninstalled and took away the old kitchen cause we were getting a new one#and she instantly tried to file some sort of complaint that it was apparently against the house rules to put spacious furniture into the#elevator without some sort of cover because the elevator could get scratches or something but get this#there was nothing in the house rules that said this. my dad even asked the ppl in charge of the house rules and they confirmed that#pretty weird isn't it? well haven't seen each other too often so I had the fortune of not having to put up with her... until 2 days ago#I just did my laundry and wanted to put it up on the communal drying rack in the basement#you also have to know that the neighbors to the right of us smoke weed. A LOT. I don't rly care you do you but they seem to smoke 24/7#So much their entire apartment reeks of weed and they actually open their apartment door for like 1 hour in the evening to air#and of course our entire floor smells. so I get into the elevator and wanted to press the button for the basement floor but I notice it#suddenly goes up. and I'm just like okay fine.... until I run into the weird old lady and we stare at each other awkwardly#and I'm like “well... you need to go up or down...?” and she's like “I need to go down but I don't wanna get into the elevator with you..”#(get ready for what she says next) “... because your laundry smells” and you should have seen my confusion. I was so damn close to saying#“you think I put WEED into my laundry?? are you sure???” but I didn't say anything and just went well okay then not ig#So I go to the basement and put up my laundry a little bewildered but still mostly amused go back up and sleep over it#Well today I returned from college and went down to collect the laundry when I found a little piece of paper hung right next to it that said#“when you leave the washroom turn of the lights” but I swear to god I put out the light I'm 100% sure. And like she also knew I was down#there cause I was in the elevator and like why would someone put in all this effort to print out a piece of paper instead of just turning#the lights off themselves??? Idk maybe I rly did leave the lights on and this is a weird paranoia I'm having#but I can't shake of the feeling that it was her and she's trying to beef with me rly hard. idk old ppl are so weird man...

Make sure to use the IRS website above to choose where you're filing! (It's not yet updated though.)
I've heard of companies being vague so it sounds like it's free, but nope. Only after you've spent so much time putting in info do you find out it's not free after all.
Note: IRS lists places where federal filing is free, but state taxes are not necessarily. I'm under the impression it's very hard to find places with free state taxes but please correct me if I'm wrong (please. I think I have to file in two states this year).
Also, at companies like HR block, most employees aren't full time tax accountants. They're usually temp workers. I assume they get some training and they certainly have way more experience than most people, but let's just say I wasn't impressed either time I filed with them. I've preemptively insisted that I'll do my brother's taxes while he's in college.
#in the past you could file taxes on paper on your own for the cost of some envelopes and stamps (so like $2-3)#but thats not even possible any more. my mom was very anxious about filing online for the first time. i had to help her#i remember when i was little she'd get the forms from the public library. there was a big display of them preprinted near the entrance#eventually we started printing them ourselves#im also absolutely willing to rant about my bad hr block experiences but felt like they werent really useful in the post

#please feel free to ignore this#I kept showing him things that people had made and he could not understand that like yes people 3D printed a ring box and a NERF gun and#I finally showed him a time lapse of an actual print and he was like oh so no paper got it#Then I made the mistake of explaining SVG files and he was like so I need a 3D computer#NO IT'S A REGULAR COMPUTER#Technically yes a 3D computer is a regular computer but that's not what he was asking
