How Parenting Style Influences Children's Honesty
A child’s first lie can be a significant moment in their growth, signaling a movement towards independent thought. Though these early “white lies” may bring a smile to parents’ faces, they can also cause concern if dishonesty develops into a habit or arises in unsuitable situations. It’s important to recognize what these behaviors represent, as doing so can help nurture open communication and…

Little boy doesn't like that it's bedtime...
youtube
I love how calm she is and how her asking him to back up and him doing it shows she's talked to him before about how if someone asks for space you give it to them.
She also clearly talks to him about feelings, as kids his age aren't usually so articulate about their feelings.
Good parenting at its best. :)
(My mom's favourite part was "I'm crying!")

🧠💔Why Parenting Feels More Stressful Than Ever
❝ Ever feel like parenting today is more overwhelming than it was for our parents? You're not imagining things.
Recent studies reveal that nearly half of parents report feeling too stressed to function most days.❞
According to 2025 data, 33% of parents report high levels of stress, compared to just 20% of other adults.
48% of parents say their stress is completely overwhelming most days, double the rate of non-parents. We're not in a crisis because we aren't trying hard enough, but because we're navigating a new landscape of pressures.
Here's why it's extra tough, from my own experience and the facts:
The Digital Dilemma: Screen time is a constant battle. Nearly 70% of parents struggle with tech's impact on parenting. I'm always wrestling with too much screen time, or trying to understand the latest app! It's a full-time job just keeping up.
The Pressure to Be Perfect: Social media's highlight reels are relentless. 85% of millennial parents feel unrealistic expectations. I've scrolled and thought, "Am I doing enough?" That constant comparison is exhausting.
Information Overload: Google offers a million conflicting parenting opinions. I remember my head spinning over baby food advice! It's hard to trust your gut with so much noise.
The Shrinking Village: Many of us lack the immediate family or community support past generations had. Parents with low social support experience more stress. I often wish for nearby family to just give me an hour's break. This isolation is real.
The Relentless Pace: Life feels faster. Both parents often work (mothers' work hours up 25% since 1985), kids have packed schedules, and calm family time is a luxury. I've cut back on activities just to find quiet moments. We're all juggling too much.
Evolving Social Norms & Mental Health: We're raising kids in a changing world, with new conversations about mental health and identity. 3 in 4 parents worry about their child's mental health, impacting their own. I'm learning alongside my kids, teaching empathy I wasn't taught myself.
It's a lot. We're doing our best. If you're overwhelmed, remember you're amazing for even trying. Let's cut ourselves slack and support each other. What's one thing you find most challenging? Share below! 👇

Parenting Challenges - Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc x wife!reader
Summary: The couple faces the challenges of parenthood after the birth of their first child, balancing family life with the demands of a pilot career.
Tumblr media
The pit lane was silent on that gray morning at Silverstone. Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc paces the motorhome, his tired eyes reflecting the sleepless night he has just had. His face, normally with a confident smile, was now marked by tiredness and worry.
Beside him, you gently held the newborn in your arms, trying to calm him as he cried with colic. The piercing sound of crying echoed through the room, mixing with Charles's exhausted sighs.
– "Honey, I think he's hungry." – You muttered, trying to remain calm while your own eyes burned with exhaustion.
Charles nodded, running a hand through his messy hair. – "I'm going to get the feeding bottle."
As he walked away, you looked at the baby in your arms, feeling a wave of love and gratitude flood your heart. Despite the sleepless nights and unexpected challenges of motherhood, you wouldn't trade these moments for the world.
Charles returned with the bottle, his eyes meeting yours in a look of complicity and affection. Together you fed the baby, sharing tired smiles as he nursed voraciously.
– “How can we be so exhausted and so happy at the same time?” – You whispered, resting your head on Charles’ shoulder.
He wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer. – "Because we're in this together, love. We're a team on and off the track."
The memory of the races brought a tired smile to his lips. Life in Formula 1 was already an emotional rollercoaster, but now, with a baby to look after, the twists and turns seemed even more intense.
Over the next few weeks, you faced a series of challenges: sleepless nights, mid-dawn diaper changes, and the constant struggle to balance life on the track with family life. But with each obstacle you overcame, you became stronger together, finding comfort and support in each other.
And then, slowly, things started to improve. The baby started sleeping more, the colic lessened, and you found a new routine that worked for your family. That day in Silverstone, when the sun began to shine through the clouds, Charles looked at you and the baby with a tender smile.
– "You're incredible, you know that?" – He said with a voice full of admiration. – "I couldn't do this without you."
You smiled, feeling touched by his words. – "We're going to make it, Charles. We're a team, remember?"
He nodded, kissing your forehead tenderly. – "Yes, we are a team, love."
And so, with love, support, and determination, you moved forward, ready to face the challenges of parenthood together, while continuing to chase your dreams on the race track. Because in the end, the greatest race of all was the family journey, and you were ready to cross the finish line together, hands in hand, hearts united.

Why do you have your eye on me?
Understanding Eye Contact Struggles in Children If you had read “Have I got one eye or two eyes?” you would know that eyes have been a talking point for my son. You would also know that he doesn’t like being looked at and I take this to mean he struggles with eye contact, but this wasn’t obvious to me at first. It was only when I was sat with the SENCO who shall not be named (I still think about…

Embracing the Joys of Parenting
As a parent, I find immense joy in the little moments with my baby. One of the best investments I've made is the baby wrap carrier. It has transformed our daily routine, allowing me to keep my baby close while having my hands free to tackle other tasks. The comfort and security it provides for my little one is truly heartwarming.
I love how the baby wrap carrier supports my baby's natural position, promoting healthy development while ensuring they feel safe and snug. Plus, it’s made from soft, breathable fabric that keeps us both cozy without overheating.
Being able to wear my baby while I go about my day has strengthened our bond and has made outings so much easier. Whether I’m grocery shopping, taking a walk, or just doing chores around the house, the baby wrap carrier makes it all possible.
It’s wonderful to see the world through my baby’s eyes, and I cherish every moment we spend together. Parenting can be challenging, but with the right tools like the baby wrap carrier, there are so many beautiful experiences to embrace. I’m excited for all the adventures ahead!

Rooted in Love, Even When It Hurts
Last night was a hard one. One of those moments in parenting, especially solo parenting, that leaves you raw and questioning. Am I doing the right thing? Am I too hard? Too soft? Is she pulling away because I’m showing her the boundaries she needs, or because I’m getting it all wrong? I sat with that ache this morning. Tired, tender, and unsure. So I did what I often do when the emotional fog…

The Role of Interactive Toys in Developing Social Skills in Children
Interactive toys play a crucial role in helping children develop essential social skills like communication, cooperation, and empathy. These toys encourage group play, emotional expression, and problem-solving, all of which contribute to a child’s social development.
1. Encourages Cooperation & Teamwork
Toys like board games, building sets, and role-play kits teach children how to work together, share responsibilities, and take turns, which are key aspects of teamwork and collaboration.
2. Enhances Communication Skills
Playing with talking dolls, storytelling sets, and multiplayer games helps kids improve their verbal skills and express their thoughts clearly. Engaging in dialogues with peers through play builds confidence in social interactions.
3. Promotes Emotional Understanding
Dolls, puppets, and pretend play sets allow children to explore different emotions and understand how others feel. This strengthens empathy and emotional intelligence from an early age.
4. Builds Conflict Resolution Abilities
Group play with interactive toys often involves negotiation and problem-solving, teaching kids how to handle disagreements and find solutions together in a positive way.
5. Boosts Confidence & Social Independence
Children who engage with interactive toys in group settings become more comfortable in social situations, boosting their confidence in making friends and interacting with new people.
Final Thoughts
Interactive toys are more than just entertainment—they shape a child’s ability to communicate, collaborate, and connect with others. Investing in the right toys can significantly enhance social development in early childhood.

Gen Z girls say they are “highly uninformed” of online risks
I remember the day when I was a kid when the little storage bar on my Hotmail went from 2Mb capacity to 10Mb. It opened up a whole world of possibility. After all, a floppy disk could only store 1.44Mb, so 10Mb felt like a revolution.
Life online was simpler back then. Time-limited access on my clunky desktop and a slow dial-up internet to prevented me to getting up to much online. Online harms were not part of my parents’ lexicon. Parental controls were to do with switching off the dial-up internet, so the house had it’s telephone access back.
Today, the world online is far more complex. Apps such as Instagram, YouTube and TikTok have democratised access to information at an ever faster rate. They have acted as an essential gateway to new friendships and knowledge during the Covid-19 pandemic.
But new online threats have emerged, such as scams, predators and cyberbullying. 14-year-old Jools Sweeney died in April 2022 after what his parents believe was an online challenge gone wrong. The issue was debated in the British Parliament after a petition calling for a new law which would give parents access to their children’s accounts after their deaths, attracted more than 126,000 signatures.
Many young people use social media almost constantly, risking their privacy, safety, and mental health. It’s a problem we simply didn’t face in earlier generations.
A global study to measure Gen Z’s attitudes towards web3 found that 52% wanted their schools to teach them more about the virtual and digital environments in which many find themselves when not in class. 58% of young people said they were concerned about their privacy and security online. 41% of young people said they came across someone online who was pretending to be someone else. And young people themselves feel they are not equipped to handle the risks in the digital space, with one in five (21%) Gen Z girls admitting in the same survey they are “highly uninformed” of online risks.
Among TikTok’s 170 million  monthly users in the US, over 50 million are less than 15 years old.
UK Technology minister Feryal Clark recently said the Government was committed to implementing the Online Safety Act. She said it was “focused on building the evidence base to inform any future action”. But technology moves much quicker than policymakers can.
Social media platforms can help tackle online harms spilling into the real world, like they did with Jools. But each child, each school and each personal circumstance are different.
Parents are the best arbiter of what their works for their child. Parent Geenee aims to empower parents to create family time while enhancing the child’s experience safely. Let’s say you’ve set a 20min a day usage for Instagram at home but the time runs out. Your child could be sitting with you in the living room and use our Wish feature to request you for further use of the blocked app. Then let’s say the child heads to their bedroom to use the extra app time. You could use the Parent Geenee Beacon could disable access just in that room, if you chose to do so. All this without needing to install anything on your child’s phone. Or access private read or read content on their phone.
Parents find their children’s social media usage not just a problem at home, but at school too. As children across the world head back to school at the start of a new year, with new responsibilities and possibly a cel phone for the first time, parents want to feel assured they will be safe. Our solution can help parents far beyond just storing the devices in a Yonder pouch. Parents told us they were concerned they may not be able to reach their children quickly in an emergency, if the phones were stored away like this.
It’s complicated being a parent today, but it’s even more complicated being a child. Parent Geenee can help navigate a world of online harms in a way that places parental controls firmly in the hands of the parents.

Parenting: The Only Job You Can Never Quit (Or Get Paid For)
Welcome to parenting—the full-time, unpaid, no-benefits position where you’ll work 24/7 for at least 18 years (but probably longer). You don’t need a degree, but you will need patience, stamina, and an immune system strong enough to survive whatever mystery illness your toddler brings home from daycare. Whether you’re a first-time parent, a seasoned pro, or just considering the possibility of…

Is being a parent hard?
We were in our living room and I was on the countdown to bedtime. It had been a good day, although my son had been a bundle of energy all day, flitting from one thing to another and I was tired…..it was a good tired. These days are long but I would take them over the agitated and unsettled days any day of the week. About ten minutes before bedtime my son stood up and asked if we could play a…
