Probably gonna get flack for this but I honestly don't care anymore I need to get this off my chest
I am so tired of people comparing Ming to Alma Madrigal and Miguel's abuelita
And I'm also tired of people defending Alma and Miguel's abuelita
Yes I know they both have generational trauma but that's not an excuse
Listen Ming was a good mom sure she was a bit overbearing a bit overprotective but hey some moms are like that bottom line is Ming was still a good mother to Mei
This is why I think you really can't compare her to Alma and Miguel's abuelita
Throughout Encanto and Coco Alma and Miguel's abuelita treat their respective grandchildren like shit and in Alma's case it's not just her grandkids she treats like shit but also her kids
I am being more merciful on Miguel's abuelita because we barely see her in the movie but she knows what she did
Alma on the other hand we see for most of the film and most of the time she's treating her family like shit
Forcing Isabela to be perfect, making Luisa feel she only has value cuz of her strength, making Mirabel feel like an outcast and makes her feel she has no worth because she doesn't have a gift, making Camilo lowkey have an identity crisis because she constantly makes him shapeshift to entertain the townsfolk, making Pepa a nervous wreck, making Bruno isolate himself and not even bothering to defend him from the townsfolk going as far as to forbade people from mentioning his name and much much more
And then when Mirabel actively tries to fix the miracle and save their home Alma blames Mirabel for the miracle dying because that's all Alma cares about
Not her family, no she only cares about the miracle and her reputation
Yes I'm aware she realized the error of her ways at the end of the film
No this doesn't automatically absolve her of any of her previous deeds throughout the film Alma is literally an abusive family member and almost everybody in the fandom seems to ignore that all because she apologized and said she would do better at the end of the film which we don't even know if she kept to her word because we never got a continuation of Encanto
And before y'all go "You wouldn't say that if Alma was a white man" yes actually I would cuz there's a white male character who is EXACTLY like Alma who I despise
Perry Babcock from Paranorman
Perry is an awful father to Norman because Norman can sees ghosts and everyone thinks he's crazy and literally within the first 10 minutes of the film Perry screams at Norman that he's a freak and he brings shame to his family and then blames his wife's side of the family for Norman's ability and at the end of the movie Perry sees the error of his ways and apologizes to Norman and says he'll try to be better
Sound familiar?
Perry Babcock and Alma Madrigal are very similar characters
Bottom line I wish people would stop comparing Ming to Alma and Miguel's abuelita because unlike the latter the former was actually a good mother

Wanted to clear up a little bit of lore with this comic. My headcanon has always been "Aggie is a poltergeist, therefore others can see her." But I feel like I never explained the concept before, so here it is. The last batch of comics I made were all up tying up loose ends, paying off plot points and worldbuilding. After such a long hiatus, I figured it was important.
With the publication of this comic, we're officially done with Season Nine! But don't worry, there's more coming soon. Me and my brother are working on a Halloween arc we think you guys are gonna love!

yeah sure I'll play devil's advocate for Perry Babcock
not that it excuses his mean behavior toward his family, but the man is clearly still grieving the loss of his mother and trying to move past it, only for his eccentric young son to keep bringing up the fact that his mom is dead on what must be a weekly basis
I would be a tad frustrated with my kid too

Sarah Parker Remond (June 6, 1826 – December 13, 1894) was an American lecturer, activist and abolitionist campaigner.
Tumblr media
Born a free woman in the state of Massachusetts, she became an international activist for human rights and women's suffrage. Remond made her first public speech against the institution of slavery when she was 16 years old, and delivered abolitionist speeches throughout the northeastern United States. One of her brothers, Charles Lenox Remond, became known as an orator and they occasionally toured together for their abolitionist lectures.
Eventually becoming an agent of the American Anti-Slavery Society, in 1858 Remond chose to travel to Britain to gather support for the growing abolitionist cause in the United States. While in London, Remond also studied at Bedford College, lecturing during term breaks. During the American Civil War, she appealed for support among the British public for the Union and their blockade of the Confederacy. After the conclusion of the war in favor of the Union, she appealed for funds to support the millions of the newly emancipated freedmen in the American South.
From England, Remond went to Italy in 1867 to pursue medical training in Florence, where she became a physician. She practiced medicine for nearly 20 years in Italy and never returned to the United States, dying in Rome at the age of 68.
Early years
Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Remond was one of the between eight and 11 children of John Remond and Nancy (née Lenox) Remond.[1] Nancy was born in Newton, daughter of Cornelius Lenox, a Revolutionary War veteranwho had fought in the Continental Army, and Susanna Perry.[2] John Remond was a free person of color who immigrated to Massachusetts from the Dutch colony of Curaçao as a 10-year-old child in 1798. John and Nancy married in October 1807, in the African Baptist Church in Boston. In Salem, they built a successful catering, provisioning, and hairdressing business, becoming well-established businesspeople and activists.
The Remonds tried to place their children in a private school, but they were rejected because of their race. When Sarah Remond and her sisters were accepted to a local high school for girls which was not segregated, they were expelled, as the school committee was planning to found a separate school forAfrican-American children. Remond later described the incident as engraved in her heart "like the scarlet letter of Hester."[1] In 1835, the Remond family moved to Newport, Rhode Island, where they hoped to find a less racist environment in which to educate their children. However, the schools refused to accept black students. Instead, some influential African Americans established a private school, where Remond was educated.[1]
In 1841, the Remond family returned to Salem.[1] Sarah Remond continued her education on her own, attending concerts and lectures, and reading widely in books, pamphlets and newspapers borrowed from friends, or purchased from the anti-slavery society of her community, which sold many inexpensive titles.[3] The Remond family also took i
n as boarders students who were attending the local girls' academy, including Charlotte Forten (later Grimké).[4]
Three of Remond's sisters built a business together: Cecilia (married to James Babcock), Maritchie Juan, and Caroline (married to Joseph Putnam),[4] "owned the fashionable Ladies Hair Work Salon" in Salem, as well as the biggest wig factory in the state.[5] Their oldest sister Nancy married James Shearman, an oyster dealer. The Remond brothers were Charles Remond, who became an abolitionist and orator; and John Remond, who married Ruth Rice, one of two women elected to the finance committee of the 1859 New England Colored Citizens' Convention.
Anti-slavery activism and lecturing
Salem in the 1840s was a center of anti-slavery activity, and the whole family was committed to the rising abolitionist movement in the United States. The Remonds' home was a haven for black and white abolitionists, and they hosted many of the movement's leaders, including William Lloyd Garrison and Wendell Phillips, and more than one fugitive slave fleeing north to freedom. John Remond was a life member of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society.[2] Sarah Remond's older brother Charles Lenox Remond was the first black lecturer of the American Anti-Slavery Society's and considered a leading black abolitionist. Nancy Remond was one of the founders of the Salem Female Anti-Slavery Society.[1] Nancy not only taught her daughters the household skills of cooking and sewing but also to seek liberty lawfully; she wanted them to take part in society.[3] With her mother and sisters, Sarah Remond was an active member of the state and county female anti-slavery societies, including the Salem Female Anti-Slavery Society, the New England Anti-Slavery Society, and the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society. She also regularly attended antislavery lectures in Salem and Boston.[2]
With the support and financial backing of her family, Sarah Remond became an anti-slavery lecturer, delivering her first lecture against slavery at the age of 16, with her brother Charles in Groton, Massachusetts, in July 1842.[6] Remond rose to prominence among abolitionists in 1853, when she refused to sit in a segregated theater section. She had bought tickets by post for herself and a group of friends, including historian William C. Nell, to the popular opera, Don Pasquale, at the Howard Athenaeum in Boston.[7] When they arrived at the theatre, Remond was shown to segregated seating. After refusing to accept it, she was forced to leave the theatre and pushed down some stairs.[3] Remond sued for damages and won her case. She was awarded $500, and an admission by theatre management that she was wronged; the court ordered the theater to integrate all seating.[7][8]
In 1856, the American Anti-Slavery Society hired a team of lecturers, including Remond; Charles, already well known in the U.S. and Britain; and Susan B. Anthony, to tour New York State addressing anti-slavery issues. Over the next two years, she, her brother, and others also spoke in New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania.[2] She and other African Americans were often given poor accommodation due to racial discrimination.[3] Although inexperienced, Remond rapidly became an effective speaker. William Lloyd Garrison praised her "calm, dignified manner, her winning personal appearance and her earnest appeals to the conscience and the heart."[9] Sarah Clay wrote that Remond's every word "waked up dormant aspirations which would vibrate through the ages."[1] Over time, she became one of the society's most persuasive and powerful lecturers.[10]
Abby Kelley Foster, a noted abolitionist in Massachusetts, encouraged Remond when they toured together in 1857.[11] On December 28, 1858, Remond wrote in a letter to Foster:[12]
I feel almost sure I never should have made the attempt but for the words of encouragement I received from you. Although my heart was in the work, I felt that I was in need of a good English education ... When I consider that the only reason why I did not obtain what I so much desired was because I was the possessor of an unpopular complexion, it adds to my discomfort. see rest of article

Determining the "best" Anaheim Ducks team is subjective and can vary depending on personal preferences and criteria. However, there are a few notable Ducks teams that stand out in the franchise's history:
2006-2007 Anaheim Ducks: This team is widely regarded as the best in Ducks history. Led by captain Scott Niedermayer, star forward Teemu Selanne, and a strong supporting cast including Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, and Chris Pronger, the Ducks won their first and only Stanley Cup championship in the 2006-2007 season. They finished the regular season with a record of 48-20-14 and defeated the Ottawa Senators in the Finals.
2014-2015 Anaheim Ducks: Coached by Bruce Boudreau, the Ducks had a strong regular season with a record of 51-24-7. Led by Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, who were both nominated for the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP, the Ducks reached the Western Conference Finals but were ultimately defeated by the Chicago Blackhawks in a hard-fought seven-game series.
2002-2003 Anaheim Mighty Ducks: Though they did not win the Stanley Cup, this team had a memorable playoff run. Coached by Mike Babcock, the Mighty Ducks reached the Stanley Cup Finals as a seventh seed. Led by goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP, they defeated the Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars in the playoffs before falling to the New Jersey Devils in the Finals.

Mystery Kids’ Families
I’ve been thinking about the Mystery Kids Mega-crossover thing that used to be going around, and I wonder, how would the Kids’ families interact? I’m talking about the three most ‘normal’ shows, Gravity Falls, Para-Norman, and Coraline. And it’s funny, because each of these families have a different level of supernatural awareness.
The Jones’ (Coraline’s parents) have no awareness, because they can’t remember being abducted by the Other Mother.
The Babcocks are somewhat aware thanks to the events of the movie, but are also trying not to make a big deal of it.
And the Mystery Shack Staff are aware, but have different manners of dealing with it; Stan is in denial, Soos is...Soos, and Wendy just lets to breeze by.
So while the Kids are going off on their big adventures, there’d be these moments like Wendy and Courtney talking about their guy troubles, which leads to Wendy mentioning the time Mabel almost got abducted by gnomes, Mr. Jones and Mr. Babcock talking about their kids and Babcock is trying to dance around Norman’s gift, and the wives are utterly bewildered by Soos for his talk about a sea-monster-that-was-a-robot-driven-by-a-hillbilly, which Stan is insist is all part of the show and they should pay extra, while trying to get that darn cat away from the Vending machine.

Mystery Kids assemble part 2
After they defeated one of the Zomblobs.
Coraline : YES !.
Zomblob throws up on Coraline.
Charlie and Mel : CORALINE !.
Coraline : I don't wanna be a Zomblob !.
Everyone runs to her while she shakes it off.
Raz : The goo's all over you. But you're not mutating
Mel : She's okay ?.
Dipper : There's something special about you Coraline. I think the Goo must have a negative reaction to the hair dye.
Coraline : Yuk !. Now I know how an Ice cream feels under all that strawberry sauce !.
They go back to the mystery shack and they look on the monitors and see that the Blob is closer.
Coraline : No !. Her voice changes Your world will END. My Blobs of destruction will rain over your world and take control !. HAHAHAHAHA !. Coraline shakes her head and she looked dazed
Mabel : Good voice Coraline !.
Wybie : Jonesy. Are you okay ?.
Coraline : I think so...
Charlie : Looks at Mel. What was all that about ?.
Mel : I don't know Charlie. But whatever that was. Did not sound good.
Charlie : I didn't even know she could change her voice.
Mel : Coraline can't change her voice....At least not to sounding like she's been smoking for 20 years. Somethings wrong.
Charlie : I have a feeling that Goo has something to do with it.
Mel : I do to but right now we've gotta help Coraline and her friends save the world.
Charlie : Right. If we don't then there will be no home to go to.
Mel. Coraline and Charlie along with Raz and Lili head out to Blith Hollow and they defeat another Zomblob but it throws up on Coraline again.
Coraline : HEY ! DO I HAVE A TARGET ON ME OR SOMETHING !?.
