Unofficial sequel to this post (X) I made a while back.
Say what you will about Coriolanus, but some of this inner thoughts was pretty entertaining. So if you haven't read the book...please do.

“These were the very people he’d played with during childhood.”
“Oh, to be seven again, in a happy pile with his friends.”
“They’d played as babies, been at birthday parties, stood on ration lines, attended classes together.”
“The day had cemented the mentor bond in a brand-new way. They were members of a special club that would dwindle down to one but always define them all.”
- The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

I read TBOSAS over Christmas and I gotta say the film deprived us of some very funny classmate dynamics

persephone price + sea angel perhaps? 👀
Here she is! More based on my book design for her. Also added a pin to show the roman numeral for 4, because I suddenly got the idea that the mentors would wear pins to show which District they are representing

probably not an original hc: what if it was revealed that persephone price was coryo's first lady?
according to the myth, hades took persephone from demeter to make her queen of the underworld, a place where the dead are kept. she is allowed to return to demeter every few months, thanks to a compromise from zeus that involved the seeds of pomegranates. in the months of her absence, the earth is covered in snow.
what if coriolanus snow took persephone as his first lady despite the repulsion he felt whenever he was around her because of what he saw from her father? and what if that repulsion was exactly what led him to marry her? he keeps her locked in at all times, but is allowed to return to her father on occasion. the times when she's away from her loved ones feels so cold.
cold like... snow, perhaps?
and coriolanus isn't blind. he knows that his good friend, festus creed, had his eye on persephone price for a while. but the coward never made a move. he simply admired from afar. he knows what people would do for love, -- he experienced it himself -- so: did he also take persephone as his wife because it would keep festus close to his side? he'd swear loyalty to coriolanus if it meant getting to see persephone price and making sure she was safe (now that he knew what snow was capable of)?
persephone price is now the queen of the underworld. after all... is panem not just a large graveyard for district children?
