Personal Canons (past life based)

In no particular order.

🪙 Greaseball is a minimalist in decor in that his walls are plastered with one type of thing. Trophies, medals, ribbons, his past livery vests, and gifts from his multitude of fans be them human or other trains.

🪙 Ashley and Buffy were M-10000's coaches which were restored for use in my train and later lent to Greaseball depending on the type of passenger train he was meant to pull. They stay together all of the time because they were meant to be a trainset however they were bi, as shown in places such as A Whole Lotta Locomotion (song about GB based on the lyrics and dance moves such as the flexing which no one else does) and Pumping Iron's iconic simping from the coaches.

🪙 an old emd9, m-10000, zephyr, and another... were engines used to gather code for GB's creation. He has some stylings from GTELs and Centennials to show his strength. He is fast when pulling little, such as for races. Slower then pulling heavy trains where speed is converted to effort.

🪙 Greaseball rarely pulled freight. He only did so in unusual circumstances since the company wanted to keep sightings of him quite exclusive to his passenger train work, competition events, and railfan related ones.

🪙Dinah was from old passenger service from the overland route. Upon my request, her car was restored and colors amped up to draw in young new riders and not just old nostalgic people who once rode passenger trains in the pre-1970s

🪙I took in CB from being scrapped or sold to the caboose hotel, it was undecided, into my yard because I missed having a caboose at the end of my freight trains. EoT devices just are not as fun or interesting to me. I prefer having a dedicated car for it.

🪙GB yelled out Caboose! in the race where the japanese national falls over the edge as a warning. Caboose is not rated for those speeds. He is made for freight not a bullet train and would not be able to safely brake. To save at least himself, he disconnects. No foul play. the Japanese national was being unsafe.

Batman Timeline (Personal Canon)

Beginning of Batman

Bruce returns to Gotham at the age of 25 to much media fanfare. He decides he is ready to finally enact his plan. Meanwhile, Lieutenant James Gordon is transferred to the GCPD after becoming persona non-grata in his home town of Chicago. He moves with his wife, Barbara Gordon, and she later gives birth to their son, James Junior.

In his first outing, Bruce encounters Selina Kyle and nearly dies. When a bat flies through his window, he comes up with the idea of Batman as a symbol which will make him more powerful than a simple man. Selina is later inspired to become Catwoman and focuses her heists on Carmine Falcone. Batman and Jim Gordon oust the corrupt police commissioner and become allies. (Batman: Year One)

Bruce reconnects with his old friend, Harvey Dent, now an assistant district attorney. Bruce attends his wedding to his wife, Gilda, and endorses him for district attorney.

The Red Hood gang carries out a series of violent robberies. When Batman confronts them at the Ace Chemical Plant, Red Hood One, the ringleader, falls into a vat of chemicals and doesn’t resurface.

Batman battles Hugo Strange who is now experimenting with turning people into deformed giant mutants. (Batman & the Monster Men)

A vampire cult forms in Gotham and is foiled by Batman. (Batman and the Mad Monk)

The Joker makes his first appearance with Batman realizing he was Red Hood One who fell into the chemicals but not what his real name was. Joker is declared legally insane and sent to a high security hospital. (The Man Who Laughs)

Batman, Jim Gordon, and the newly elected Harvey Dent make a pact to take down Carmine Falcone’s criminal empire at any cost. (The Long Halloween)

Falcone reaches out to Bruce and claiming that their fathers were friends, asks Bruce to help him invest in Gotham Bank which Bruce is on the board of trustees for aka allow Falcone’s organization to launder money through the bank. Bruce refuses.

Selina, now reinvented as a socialite, revolves in the Falcones’ circles and begins dating Bruce.

On Halloween night, Carmine Falcone’s nephew is killed in his home, setting off a series of murders which occur on a holiday each month. (The Long Halloween)

Initially the targets are those close to Falcone but after his son, Alberto, is killed on New Years Eve they change direction and target those working for Sal Maroni. A war escalates between the two rivals over who is responsible. Both sides and the police begin to suspect Harvey Dent. Bruce refuses to believe it.

Falcone hires Poison Ivy to seduce Bruce Wayne so he can launder money through Gotham Bank, unintentionally taking Batman out of the equation. Selina figures it out and rescues him as Catwoman inadvertently revealing her identity to Bruce. He decides to do nothing about it for now.

Maroni agrees to testify against Falcone but he is really laying a trap for Harvey who he splashes in the face with acid in the courtroom as revenge for his father’s murder. Harvey is rushed to the hospital but escapes into the sewers. When Batman tries to go after him, he is attacked by Solomon Grundy instead. 

On Labor Day, Batman and Jim move Sal Maroni in order to draw out the killer. Maroni is killed by Alberto Falcone who is revealed to have faked his death. He claims to have been the Holiday Killer all along, motivated by a desire to prove to his father he is qualified to take over the family business.

On Halloween, Harvey Dent resurfaces and kills both Carmine Falcone and his corrupt assistant who enabled his attack. He announces himself as Two-Face and that there are two Holiday Killers before he is arrested and taken away.

Bruce wonders what he might have meant by this as he dispairs that he was just about to tell Harvey about his identity as Batman.

It is revealed to the audience that Gilda Dent was actually the original Holiday Killer but stopped after New Years when she believed Harvey had taken up the mission for her. Actually it was Alberto who saw an opportunity in the murders. Gilda destroys the evidence and leaves town.

Bruce falls into a depressive episode after failing to solve the mystery and losing the faith that he had in Harvey Dent as a beacon of hope for the city. His relationship with Selina suffers for it.

Earth 2 refugees

I grew up carrying around a copy of Crisis on Infinite Earths, I still have it, water damaged and with the cover taped on. as I said I love Crisis on Infinite Earths as such we do not recognize Infinite Crisis in this house in any way since it took a bunch of selfless heroes from Crisis on Infinite Earths and shat on them. So I had a few ideas of how to nod to pre-Crisis Earth 2 and it's heroes without having to have a whole other plant or derailing the mainstream DCU

One of the characters I really loved was Earth 2 Dick Grayson, I don't know why he doesn't do very much in the story. Maybe it's his amazingly ugly outfit,

maybe I liked the idea of 1940s Robin all grown up and not giving up Robin. Whatever the case in Crisis he died, but importantly he died after the Earth's merged and he died on Earth Prime/1/whatever. In my mind he's brought back, think Dick Grayson has played by Burt Ward but now in his 50s. Touch of gray in the hair, sweater vests and jackets. He's in his mid to late 50s but acts much older because he grew up in the 1930s and 40s so acts like a 90something year old. Now he's from an Earth that does not exist and never did, from a timeline that moved on to allow Bruce and Dick etc to not be old so he's had to make a new life for himself. With the help of the Batfam he's posing as Dick's "Uncle Richard". Together Dick and Richard have opened a small legal firm (very Nelson and Murdock energy) Grayson & Grayson (don't ask which Grayson is first). Richard is kinda the more stuffy and on-time one, Dick is a little more loose always running late papers spilling everywhere . Officially Richard is retired as Robin and superheroing ("I'm too old for that game") but from time to time reports of an adult in a Robin outfit (and ugly yellow tights) pop up and Richard denies any knowledge of these stories.

I'd love Earth-2 Superman and Lois (Kent) to be living in retirement in a recreation of the Earth-2 1930s Kent farm house inside the Fortress of Solitude, much like Superman in the start of Kingdom Come. In their mid to late 70s, hair a lot more gray and white than black, Clark is enjoying working on the farm and raising animals and might actually need those glasses (at least for reading) now. Lois Kent is working on a complete history of Earth-2's hero age from 1938 till the Crisis in the mid-1980s using boxes of news paper clippings written by her and Clark over their 40-ish years at the Daily Starr. Clark is also enjoying dusting off his mother, grandmother and great-grandmother's cook books to put the eggs and wheat raised on the farm to good use. Earth Prime's Clark and Lois (and any of the kids they can wrangle) are regular Sunday night dinner guests as are the old guard of the JSA, Power Girl, Queen Hippolyta (the WWII Wonder Woman) and Ma and Pa Kent. Clark Comments how odd it is to have come back around to be his own parent's older brother in effect (he's about 8-10 years older than this Earth's Ma and Pa Kent) Clark has hung up his costume (though he still has it and it fits) because this world has more than enough Supermen and Clark and Lois rarely leave their farm. Though whenever Lois and Clark can't make (saving the world) one of Jon's baseball games mysteriously "Great-uncle" Clark and "Aunt" Lois seem to always just know and show up to cheer from the stands.

Batman Timeline (Personal Canon)

Early Years

Martha Kane, granddaughter of a prominent city planner, and Thomas Wayne, the heir to the Wayne fortune, meet and fall in love in college. Thomas pursues a medical degree and sets up a free clinic with his friend, Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Martha becomes a prominent philanthropist. They have one son, Bruce Thomas Wayne.

When Bruce is a child, gangster Vincent Falcone brings his badly wounded son, Carmine, who had been shot several times by his rival, Luigi Maroni, to Thomas Wayne. Fearing Maroni would finish the job at a public hospital, he begs Wayne, one of the city's best doctors, to perform surgery at Wayne Manor. A young Bruce Wayne watches his father save Falcone's life. Thomas explains his personal philosophy and belief in the Hippocratic Oath to Bruce in the aftermath. (Batman: Year One)

Bruce’s parents are killed by Joe Chill when he is eight years old after attending an opera of Faust. Joe Chill is arrested and convicted but there is speculation that there might be something more behind the crime. Many in Gotham consider it an assassination and compare it to the death of JFK.

At the funeral, Carmine Falcone approaches Bruce and offers his condolences. Bruce instantly recognizes him as evil. Meanwhile, Alfred, the family butler, speaks to Martha’s brother, Jacob Kane, and asks him and his wife to take in Bruce. Jacob, who has always resented Thomas, refuses citing the fact that he and his wife are both active duty in the military. Bruce overhears and runs away. Alfred tracks him down and promises to look after him until a suitable guardian can be found.

Bruce re-watches his father’s favorite movie, The Mark of Zorro (1940), and asks Alfred to teach him to fence so he can be like Zorro and stop the bad guys. Alfred, both a classically trained stage actor and former British Special Forces medic, agrees. When Bruce is faced with a bully at his prep school, Alfred also teaches him boxing and judo.

Bruce becomes obsessed with criminology and spends most of his time studying true crime cases, forensics techniques, and philosophy on the nature of evil. Alfred, concerned about his charge’s mental health, seeks out help from the psychologist, Hugo Strange. Intrigued by Bruce’s unique mental state, Strange chooses to psychologically torment Bruce instead. When Alfred stops the sessions and reports Strange, he disappears. Bruce is left with a phobia of anyone “trying to pry into his head”.

Bruce attends highschool at the prestigious Deerford Academy upstate as a boarding student where Alfred hopes he will escape the influence of Gotham. Bruce becomes popular and joins the fencing team. He also becomes friends with Harvey Dent, a scholarship kid, while becoming rivals with an older student, Jack Drake. He often gets in trouble for sneaking out at night but later, uncovers an embezzlement scheme within the administration.

Over a summer break, after being dumped by his girlfriend, Bruce attempts to fake his own death and disappear into the wilderness Chris McCandless style. Alfred tracks him down and scolds him for doing it so poorly. After their car is swept away in a flood, Alfred and Bruce spend two weeks fending for themselves in the wild as they trek back to civilization. Bruce considers this a positive experience.

Bruce graduates early and attends college at Ivy University for two years. He graduates from there early as well and dissatisfied with his life attends Gotham University Medical School at the age of 18. He forms a friendship with an undergrad student taking additional classes, Harleen Quinzel, and begins a romance with fellow student, Andrea Beaumont. Bruce vacillates between the promise he made to his murdered parents to fight crime versus starting a married life with Andrea, which he feels his parents would have wanted for him. When they are threatened by muggers while leaving a theater, Bruce flies into a rage and attacks the men. He is struck over the head and wakes up in the hospital. Andrea is frightened by his extreme reaction to the muggers and by his sudden marriage proposal when he wakes up. She breaks up with him.

Bruce drops out of Med School at 19 and leaves Gotham to live as a nomad under an alias. He trains with investigators, man hunters, fighters and monks while getting into the mind of the criminal element, intent on finding some way to destroy crime in Gotham- especially the mob.

While Bruce is away, Alfred arranges lavish birthday parties for Bruce with exclusive invites for the young, wealthy, and beautiful. They are usually the parties of the year and so talked about that no one seems to notice that Bruce Wayne never attends them. It becomes tradition that a young man who roughly fits Bruce’s description is appointed the Bruce Wayne of the party though technically this is done unintentionally. Only an old classmate from Deerford Academy, Oliver Queen, seems to notice but he doesn’t mind.

Bruce is recruited to the League of Assassins and begins to train under Ra’s al Ghul who claims to share his goals. While there Bruce meets Talia al Ghul, Ra’s’ daughter, and Minhkhoa Khan, the son of a Singaporean business man who wants to become a vigilante as a form of art. They form a love triangle until Bruce leaves the League of Assassins when he realizes Ra’s is really an eco-fascist who wants to destroy Gotham.
