AI continues to be useful, annoying everyone
Okay, look - as much as I've been fairly on the side of "this is actually a pretty incredible technology that does have lots of actual practical uses if used correctly and with knowledge of its shortfalls" throughout the ongoing "AI era", I must admit - I don't use it as a tool too much myself.
I am all too aware of how small errors can slip in here and there, even in output that seems above the level, and, perhaps more importantly, I still have a bit of that personal pride in being able to do things myself! I like the feeling that I have learned a skill, done research on how to do a thing and then deployed that knowledge to get the result I want. It's the bread and butter of working in tech, after all.
But here's the thing, once you move beyond beginner level Python courses and well-documented windows applications. There will often be times when you will want to achieve a very particular thing, which involves working with a specialist application. This will usually be an application written for domain experts of this specialization, and so it will not be user-friendly, and it will certainly not be "outsider-friendly".
So you will download the application. Maybe it's on the command line, has some light scripting involved in a language you've never used, or just has a byzantine shorthand command structure. There is a reference document - thankfully the authors are not that insane - but there are very few examples, and none doing exactly what you want. In order to do the useful thing you want to do, they expect you to understand how the application/platform/scripting language works, to the extent that you can apply it in a novel context.
Which is all fine and well, and normally I would not recommend anybody use a tool at length unless they have taken the time to understand it to the degree at which they know what they are doing. Except I do not wish to use the tool at length, I wish to do one, singular operation, as part of a larger project, and then never touch it again. It is unfortunately not worth my time for me to sink a few hours into learning a technology that you will use once for twenty seconds and then never again.
So you spend time scouring the specialist forums, pulling up a few syntax examples you find randomly of their code and trying to string together the example commands in the docs. If you're lucky, and the syntax has enough in common with something you're familiar with, you should be able to bodge together something that works in 15-20 minutes.
But if you're not lucky, the next step would have been signing up to that forum, or making a post on that subreddit, creating a thread called "Hey, newbie here, needing help with..." and then waiting 24-48 hours to hear back from somebody probably some years-deep veteran looking down on you with scorn for not having put in the effort to learn their Thing, setting aside the fact that you have no reason to normally. It's annoying, disruptive, and takes time.
Now I can ask ChatGPT, and it will have ingested all those docs, all those forums, and it will give you a correct answer in 20 seconds about what you were doing wrong. Because friends, this is where a powerful attention model excels, because you are not asking it to manage a complex system, but to collate complex sources into a simple synthesis. The LLM has already trained in this inference, and it can reproduce it in the blink of an eye, and then deliver information about this inference in the form of a user dialog.
When people say that AI is the future of tutoring, this is what it means. Instead of waiting days to get a reply from a bored human expert, the machine knowledge blender has already got it ready to retrieve via a natural language query, with all the followup Q&A to expand your own knowledge you could desire. And the great thing about applying this to code or scripting syntax is that you can immediately verify whether the output is correct but running it and seeing if it performs as expected, so a lot of the danger is reduced (not that any modern mainstream attention model is likely to make a mistake on something as simple a single line command unless it's something barely documented online, that is).
It's incredibly useful, and it outdoes the capacity of any individual human researcher, as well as the latency of existing human experts. That's something you can't argue we've ever had better before, in any context, and it's something you can actively make use of today. And I will, because it's too good not to - despite my pride.

Percy Jackson's fridge horror
What gets to me about Percy Jackson and the sequel series is that there's so much fridge horror in it.
For those of you who don't know, fridge horror is something that seemingly innocent but has very disturbing undertones.
Like the climbing walls in CHB. What do you MEAN that they clash together, hurting the campers who haven't reached the top, and that there's also fucking lava which BURNS THE CAMPERS, NO LESS. And that Chiron allows it?
AND THAT HE FUCKING INSTALLED IT?
And there's lava below? Do you know how serious fucking lava burns are? They're horrible. Campers might have even died before.
And there's a full lava and earthquake mode too, and boulders roll down on the campers, which is pretty serious and can make for some fatal injuries. Jesus, Rick, what the hell were you thinking?
I wonder if Luke saw the horror of this and if this was a small part that motivated him to join Kronos. I really do wonder.
And in ToA, the Three Legged Death Race?
Chiron wants to reward who come back..........alive. Because it's so dangerous that it has fucking exploding Chainsaw Frisbees and iron orbs falling from the ceiling. And apparently it's so dangerous that you can find fucking Python in there too. Oh hey Python, wazzup old mate-AAAAAAHHHHHHH-gets swallowed and painfully digested.
And this is all because a MILLENIA OLD TUTOR WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER AND A FUCKING GOD WHO'S SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THESE CHILDREN couldn't say no to a fucking eight year old who came up with the terribly dangerous and impractical idea for this race. An eight year old, folks.
Chiron is........a terrible person for this. No, fucking seriously. He sent those kids in knowing that they might die and have serious trauma if not. How anyone can like Chiron after this is beyond me. No wonder Luke joined Kronos. Such a shame he lost, though.
And Paolo Montes' limbs just casually being ripped off and then reattached? What the fuck was this, Rick? A child's limbs, that too, sawed off! Dismemberment is so comedic, especially when it happens to an unprepared child!
FUCKING NEWS FLASH, RICK, THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENS! DISMEMBERMENT IS SERIOUS AND PERMANENT TRAUMA! IT'S NOT JUST REATTACHING LIMBS AND OH EVERYTHING IS SUNSHINE AGAIN.
Feel free to add your own fridge horror that you've noticed.

(Yes 2 daily logs in a row)
Today's goals
Complete one past paper for bio
Finish chemistry homework
Finish the 8th question for physics worksheet
Read about gas exchange for bio
Revise projectile motion
Speed run Python course
Figure out personal learning plan for French
Break-down and simplify some tasks (simplifying tasks literally helps a lot if you have too many things going on)

what I did for self-care:
Listened to music
did some journalling
looked for some study motivation
tried to plan for tomorrow
read a book i like
Binge-watched some anime (also Zoro got shut down 😭😭😭 how can I keep track of my anime now)
"I'm sighing in my dreams"
how are you guys?!?
I forgot to check my school messages lmao (I do online school), I woke up late opened my laptop and sat there waiting for the teachers to reply to my messages. Guess who forgot yesterday and today are holidays? I DID! Honestly, I was so stressed out but I started by reading some bio, then did my chemistry homework. After that, I met up with my tutor and studied Enzymes with her. Then I sat down again to do some speed running, looked into a webinar for my French learning and self-care and gosh it's tiring to be a student!

Hello Tumblr
i have been on the platform since 2012 but i have never actually wrote any posts so i finally made a decision to create a new personal account (even tho that account have been created and been empty since 2020 but these last four years were hard for everyone). I graduated from a university in 2021 and got a translator degree but due to various reasons (in the world and in general) it was hard to apply it in job searching. and i've been feeling super lost and depressed all these years. and i decided to give a chance my small coding dream since i had since high school (in my country we need to pass entry exams at school and my computer science teacher prohibited me even trying passing the exam and during that time i was listless and AGAIN a lost teenager who had no idea what to do with their life so i didn't even try fighting and just gave up the idea and chose a path of my other passion: languages /after graduation i picked up japanese so i keep learning new stuff and it helps me a lot to cope ig/) so here i am just turned 26 this month and started learning how to code last month only. i had a slight idea of how html worked plus we had python usage in linguistic at university (for some reason it was super weird lol) i have been practicing for 10 days straight so i thought it's gonna be a good idea to participate in 100 days of coding as almost a complete beginner and track my progress (plus i haven't actually been practicing english that much so it is also a good reason to start that blog) so my progress in the last 10 days looks like that: 1. revised html basics 2. started css journey
i use online video courses on Youtube by freeCodeCamp.org and creating an actual web styling with a tutor does actually help a lot! i enjoy studying but i do understand that i need much more time to practice myself
after i am planning to start JavaScript but we'll see how it will go and i am still not sure which path to choose but ig front-end sympathise me a lot plus i am planning to pass JLPT N3 this year so maybe i will post some updates too but i am not sure yet is it better to participate in summer or winter exam i don't think anyone will be interested in my journey but when i see people posting their progress in any sphere it inspires me a lot

Deepseek vs Google Gemini vs ChatGPT: Which AI Brain Would You Pick? 🌟**

Hey, digital wanderers! Let’s talk about the three AI heavyweights currently vibing in the techosphere: *Deepseek, **Google Gemini, and **ChatGPT. They’re all brainy, but they’ve got *very different personalities. Let’s break it down like we’re judging a talent show (but for robots).
---
### *1. Deepseek 🧠*
*The Niche Genius*
Born in China’s tech labs, Deepseek is like that friend who aces calculus and writes code in their sleep. It’s laser-focused on *technical tasks*—think data analysis, coding help, and hyper-accurate research. Need to debug Python at 3 AM? Deepseek’s your caffeine-free fix.
*Strengths:*
- *Code whisperer*: Fixes errors, writes scripts, and explains algorithms like a patient tutor.
- *Data wizard*: Crunches numbers and spots trends faster than you can say “spreadsheet.”
- *Minimal fluff*: Straightforward, no chit-chat (unless you beg).
*Quirks:*
- Not the best at creative writing or casual banter.
- Still learning non-English languages.
*Best for:* Developers, analysts, and anyone who dreams in binary.
---
### *2. Google Gemini 🤖*
*The Smooth Operator*
Google’s answer to “What if AI could do… everything?” Gemini is the ultimate multitasker. It’s baked into Google’s ecosystem (Workspace, Search, etc.), so it feels like that one friend who’s weirdly good at organizing your life. Plus, it’s *multimodal—meaning it *sees, hears, and talks (yes, you can yell at it).
*Strengths:*
- *Ecosystem king*: Syncs with Google tools like Docs, Sheets, and your soul (just kidding… maybe).
- *Multimedia maestro*: Analyzes images, videos, and audio. Show it a meme, and it’ll explain the joke.
- *Safety first*: Google’s strict guardrails keep it PG-13 (no existential crises here).
*Quirks:*
- Can be overly cautious (avoids spicy opinions like a toddler avoids broccoli).
- Still rolling out, so some features feel like a “coming soon” trailer.
*Best for:* Google loyalists, students, and anyone who wants AI to handle their errands.
---
### *3. ChatGPT 🎨*
*The Creative Chaotic*
The OG crowd-pleaser! ChatGPT is like that artsy friend who writes poetry, roleplays as a pirate, and occasionally makes up fake historical facts. With GPT-4 (and plugins!), it’s a Swiss Army knife of creativity and chaos.
*Strengths:*
- *Storyteller supreme*: Writes novels, jokes, and fanfic about sentient toasters.
- *Customizable*: Plugins let it book flights, analyze PDFs, or teach you piano.
- *Personality++*: Sassy, empathetic, or professional—you pick the vibe.
*Quirks:*
- Sometimes hallucinates (e.g., “Shakespeare definitely wrote Star Wars”).
- Requires clever prompting to avoid rambling.
*Best for:* Writers, curious minds, and anyone who wants AI with ✨rizz✨.
---
### *So… Who Wins?*
- *Need to code?* Deepseek.
- *Living in Google-land?* Gemini.
- *Want creativity + chaos?* ChatGPT.
Or just rotate all three and feel like an AI CEO.
*Poll time!* Which would you trust with your to-do list:
🔵 Deepseek’s precision
🟠 Gemini’s Google magic 🟢 ChatGPT’s chaotic charm
*Visual vibe:* A doodle of three robots arm-wrestling on a laptop keyboard, with coffee cups labeled “CODE,” “SEARCH,” and “ART” spilling everywhere. 🌈✨

Functions vs. Methods in Python: What's the Difference?
When starting your Python journey, you’ll often hear about functions and methods. They may seem similar, but they have important differences that every beginner should understand. Let’s break it down in a simple way — no coding required.
📘 What Are Functions?
A function in Python is a reusable block of code that performs a specific task. You create it once and use it as many times as needed. Functions work independently — they don’t belong to any object. You just call them by their name and pass the required data, called arguments.
Example in real life: Think of a function like a calculator. You give it numbers (input), press a button (call the function), and get a result (output).
📗 What Are Methods?
A method is also a block of code that performs a task, but it’s tied to a specific object. That means it works on the data that the object contains. In simpler terms, a method is a function that belongs to something — like a list, a string, or a custom object.
Example in real life: Imagine you have a TV remote. The buttons (methods) work only for your TV (object). You can’t use the same buttons on your fridge.
🧠 Key Differences
Functions are standalone, while methods are tied to objects.
You use functions for general tasks, and methods to perform actions specific to the type of data (like modifying a list or changing text).
Functions don’t know anything about the object’s data unless you explicitly give it, but methods automatically access the object’s data.
🤔 Why This Matters
Understanding this difference helps you read, write, and debug Python code more effectively. It also prepares you for deeper topics like object-oriented programming, where methods are used extensively.

How Quanttrix Makes Algo Trading Easy for Beginners

How Quanttrix Simplifies Algo Trading for Beginners
Imagine trying to learn a musical instrument without knowing how to read notes. Intimidating, right? That’s exactly how most people feel when they hear the words quantitative trading or algorithmic trading.
But what if there was a way to make this complex world of stock trading not just easy—but exciting? That’s where Quanttrix comes in.
This isn’t just another algo trading company in India. Quanttrix is like the friendly tutor who breaks down the complexities of music into easy rhythms anyone can follow.
Whether you’re just starting out or curious about how AI for trading stocks actually works, this guide is tailor-made for you.
Discover how Quanttrix simplifies quantitative trading for beginners using AI for trading stocks. A top algo trading company in India.
Introduction to Algo Trading and Why It Matters
Let’s start with the basics. Algorithmic trading, or algo trading, uses computer programs to make trading decisions. These programs follow a set of instructions—called algorithms—to decide when to buy or sell stocks.
In a world where stock prices change in milliseconds, relying on human judgment alone can be risky. That’s why algo trading is no longer optional—it’s essential for staying ahead in the market.
What Is Quantitative Trading? A Simple Explanation
Think of quantitative trading as trading based on math, data, and logic instead of gut feelings. It’s like using Google Maps instead of guessing your way through traffic.
With the help of numbers, statistics, and patterns, this form of trading aims to take emotion out of investing—and replace it with precision.
The Traditional Challenges Beginners Face
Before platforms like Quanttrix existed, beginners had a tough time getting into algo trading. Here’s what usually got in the way:
Complex tools and jargon

ChatGPT & Data Science: Your Essential AI Co-Pilot
The rise of ChatGPT and other large language models (LLMs) has sparked countless discussions across every industry. In data science, the conversation is particularly nuanced: Is it a threat? A gimmick? Or a revolutionary tool?
The clearest answer? ChatGPT isn't here to replace data scientists; it's here to empower them, acting as an incredibly versatile co-pilot for almost every stage of a data science project.
Think of it less as an all-knowing oracle and more as an exceptionally knowledgeable, tireless assistant that can brainstorm, explain, code, and even debug. Here's how ChatGPT (and similar LLMs) is transforming data science projects and how you can harness its power:
How ChatGPT Transforms Your Data Science Workflow
Problem Framing & Ideation: Struggling to articulate a business problem into a data science question? ChatGPT can help.
"Given customer churn data, what are 5 actionable data science questions we could ask to reduce churn?"
"Brainstorm hypotheses for why our e-commerce conversion rate dropped last quarter."
"Help me define the scope for a project predicting equipment failure in a manufacturing plant."
Data Exploration & Understanding (EDA): This often tedious phase can be streamlined.
"Write Python code using Pandas to load a CSV and display the first 5 rows, data types, and a summary statistics report."
"Explain what 'multicollinearity' means in the context of a regression model and how to check for it in Python."
"Suggest 3 different types of plots to visualize the relationship between 'age' and 'income' in a dataset, along with the Python code for each."
Feature Engineering & Selection: Creating new, impactful features is key, and ChatGPT can spark ideas.
"Given a transactional dataset with 'purchase_timestamp' and 'product_category', suggest 5 new features I could engineer for a customer segmentation model."
"What are common techniques for handling categorical variables with high cardinality in machine learning, and provide a Python example for one."
Model Selection & Algorithm Explanation: Navigating the vast world of algorithms becomes easier.
"I'm working on a classification problem with imbalanced data. What machine learning algorithms should I consider, and what are their pros and cons for this scenario?"
"Explain how a Random Forest algorithm works in simple terms, as if you're explaining it to a business stakeholder."
Code Generation & Debugging: This is where ChatGPT shines for many data scientists.
"Write a Python function to perform stratified K-Fold cross-validation for a scikit-learn model, ensuring reproducibility."
"I'm getting a 'ValueError: Input contains NaN, infinity or a value too large for dtype('float64')' in my scikit-learn model. What are common reasons for this error, and how can I fix it?"
"Generate boilerplate code for a FastAPI endpoint that takes a JSON payload and returns a prediction from a pre-trained scikit-learn model."
Documentation & Communication: Translating complex technical work into understandable language is vital.
"Write a clear, concise docstring for this Python function that preprocesses text data."
"Draft an executive summary explaining the results of our customer churn prediction model, focusing on business impact rather than technical details."
"Explain the limitations of an XGBoost model in a way that a non-technical manager can understand."
Learning & Skill Development: It's like having a personal tutor at your fingertips.
"Explain the concept of 'bias-variance trade-off' in machine learning with a practical example."
"Give me 5 common data science interview questions about SQL, and provide example answers."
"Create a study plan for learning advanced topics in NLP, including key concepts and recommended libraries."
Important Considerations and Best Practices
While incredibly powerful, remember that ChatGPT is a tool, not a human expert.
Always Verify: Generated code, insights, and especially factual information must always be verified. LLMs can "hallucinate" or provide subtly incorrect information.
Context is King: The quality of the output directly correlates with the quality and specificity of your prompt. Provide clear instructions, examples, and constraints.
Data Privacy is Paramount: NEVER feed sensitive, confidential, or proprietary data into public LLMs. Protecting personal data is not just an ethical imperative but a legal requirement globally. Assume anything you input into a public model may be used for future training or accessible by the provider. For sensitive projects, explore secure, on-premises or private cloud LLM solutions.
Understand the Fundamentals: ChatGPT is an accelerant, not a substitute for foundational knowledge in statistics, machine learning, and programming. You need to understand why a piece of code works or why an an algorithm is chosen to effectively use and debug its outputs.
Iterate and Refine: Don't expect perfect results on the first try. Refine your prompts based on the output you receive.
ChatGPT and its peers are fundamentally changing the daily rhythm of data science. By embracing them as intelligent co-pilots, data scientists can boost their productivity, explore new avenues, and focus their invaluable human creativity and critical thinking on the most complex and impactful challenges. The future of data science is undoubtedly a story of powerful human-AI collaboration.
