icb i haven't made a post on her on this blog yet, but i'm too lazy to find the old ones. anyway. here she is! the family best girl! virote's sister, sanoh. she's 15-years-old, the heir to mercury's throne, and isn't taking any of your shit. she's aiming to be a star tennis player, a whopping 5'9" at her age and will about 6'1" when she's an adult. she's already over half a foot taller than virote and he's almost 30. overall, sports are her thing. tennis, pickleball, golf, baseball, basketball, hockey, you name it!
she also really likes doing speedruns of video games and tried to be a competitive smash bros player, but she hates the community so much that she'd rather not go there instead of tolerating nintendo obsessed nerds.
sanoh is very protective of virote. she's much younger than him, but she was old enough to remember his initial emotional breakdown and him having to live back home with his parents after it happened.
if you ever legitimately hurt vi's feelings and make him experience any emotional distress, she will beat the fuck out of you and then kill you. she definitely is more of a hard ass about keeping people safe compared to her older brother virote.
other facts: undiagnosed narcissistic personality disorder, psychic, flexes her telekinesis and other related powers unlike her brother, once drop kicked a man in the chest and broke his ribs for following her while she was walking home from school, definitely takes more after mother, awkward sense of humor.

Pickleball for Beginners: Tips to Get Started and Enjoy the Game
Tumblr media
Pickleball is a sport that’s gaining popularity for good reason—it’s fun, easy to learn, and perfect for players of all ages. Whether you’re looking for a new way to stay active or just want to try something different with friends, pickleball is a great choice. If you’re new to the game, here are some tips to help you get started and make the most of your time on the court.
Understanding the Basics
Before jumping into the game, it’s helpful to know a little about what pickleball is. The sport is a mix of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, played on a smaller court with a net that’s slightly lower than a tennis net. The game uses paddles and a plastic ball with holes, similar to a wiffle ball. It can be played as singles (one-on-one) or doubles (two-on-two).
The rules are simple, making it easy to pick up even for beginners. The goal is to hit the ball over the net and into the opponent’s side of the court without them returning it. Games are usually played to 11 points, and you need to win by two points.
Gear Up: What You Need
One of the great things about pickleball is that it doesn’t require a lot of expensive equipment. To get started, you’ll need a paddle, some balls, and a comfortable pair of shoes. Pickleball paddles are larger than ping-pong paddles but smaller than tennis rackets. They come in various materials, such as wood, composite, or graphite, each offering different levels of control and power. For beginners, a mid-range paddle is a good starting point.
As for shoes, any athletic shoes with good support will do, but if you find yourself playing regularly, you might want to invest in court shoes that provide extra grip and stability on the court.
Start with the Basics: Serving and Returning
Serving is where every pickleball point begins, and it’s important to get it right. The serve in pickleball is underhand, and the ball must be hit below the waist and land diagonally across the court in the opponent’s service area. For beginners, focus on consistency rather than power. A steady, controlled serve will give you an advantage as you get comfortable with the game.
When returning a serve, aim to send the ball back deep into your opponent’s court. This gives you more time to react and puts your opponent on the defensive. As you practice, you’ll improve your ability to place the ball strategically, making it harder for your opponents to return.
Move Around the Court
Pickleball is a fast-paced game, and good footwork is key. Stay light on your feet and be ready to move quickly in any direction. Positioning is crucial; try to stay near the back of the court when receiving a serve and move forward as the rally continues. In doubles, communicate with your partner and cover the court efficiently to avoid leaving open spaces for your opponents to exploit.
Practice Makes Perfect
Like any sport, the more you play pickleball, the better you’ll get. Start by practicing your serves and returns, and as you get more comfortable, work on your volleys and smashes. Joining a local pickleball group or club can be a great way to meet other players and get tips from more experienced players. Many communities offer beginner clinics or lessons, which can help you improve quickly.
Enjoy the Social Side
One of the best parts of pickleball is the social aspect. The game’s friendly, inclusive atmosphere makes it easy to meet new people and have fun, whether you’re playing a casual game or competing in a local tournament. Don’t be afraid to ask more experienced players for advice—they’ll likely be happy to help you improve your game.
Ready to Play?
Pickleball is not just a game; it’s a fun way to stay active, meet new people, and challenge yourself. With these tips in mind, you’re ready to hit the court and start enjoying all that pickleball has to offer. Whether you’re playing for fitness, fun, or friendly competition, pickleball is sure to keep you coming back for more. So grab a paddle, find a court, and see for yourself why this game is winning over players around the country.

The Rise of Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddles: A Game Changer in the Sport
Tumblr media
Pickleball, a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, has been growing rapidly in popularity worldwide. As with any sport, the evolution of equipment plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of players and the overall experience of the game. Among the various innovations in pickleball gear, the introduction of Carbon fiber pickleball paddle stands out as a significant advancement, promising improved performance and durability.
Understanding Carbon Fiber
Carbon fiber is a material known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Composed of thin, strong crystalline filaments of carbon, it is five times stronger than steel and twice as stiff, yet significantly lighter. This combination of properties makes carbon fiber an ideal material for high-performance sports equipment, including Pickleball Paddle.
Benefits of Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddles
Lightweight and Maneuverable: One of the most notable advantages of carbon fiber paddles is their lightweight nature. This makes the paddles easier to handle, allowing players to react quickly and swing with greater ease. The reduced weight minimizes arm fatigue, enabling longer play sessions without compromising performance.
Enhanced Power and Control: Carbon fiber paddles offer a unique blend of power and control. The rigidity of carbon fiber allows for a more powerful shot, as the energy transfer from the paddle to the ball is more efficient. At the same time, the stiffness of the material provides excellent control, helping players place their shots with precision.
Durability: Carbon fiber paddles are highly durable, resisting wear and tear better than many other materials. This longevity ensures that players can rely on their paddle for extended periods, making it a worthwhile investment despite the higher initial cost compared to traditional paddles.
Reduced Vibrations: The structure of carbon fiber helps in dampening vibrations, providing a more comfortable playing experience. This can be particularly beneficial for players prone to tennis elbow or other joint issues, as it reduces the strain on the arm during play.
The Impact on Gameplay
The introduction of carbon fiber paddles has had a profound impact on the way pickleball is played. With the ability to generate more power and maintain control, players can execute a wider variety of shots, from powerful smashes to delicate dinks. This versatility allows for a more dynamic and strategic game, pushing players to develop a broader range of skills.
Moreover, the lightweight nature of carbon fiber paddles enables quicker reaction times, which is crucial in a fast-paced game like pickleball. Players can reach shots that would have been challenging with heavier paddles, making rallies more exciting and competitive.
Choosing the Right Carbon Fiber Paddle
When selecting a carbon fiber pickleball paddle, players should consider factors such as weight, grip size, and paddle shape. Personal preference plays a significant role, as different players may prioritize power, control, or comfort. It is advisable to try out several models to find the one that best suits individual playing styles and needs.
Conclusion
Carbon fiber pickleball paddles represent a significant advancement in the sport's equipment, offering numerous benefits that enhance both performance and enjoyment. As the sport continues to grow, the adoption of high-quality paddles like those made from carbon fiber will likely become more widespread, setting new standards for the game. Whether you are a seasoned player or a newcomer to pickleball, investing in a carbon fiber paddle could elevate your game to new heights.

With its ability to surprise opponents and put them on the defensive, mastering the pickleball smash can significantly elevate your game. In this article, we will explore the art of the pickleball smash and provide you with techniques and tips to help you become a formidable force on the court.Key Takeaways: Proper footwork is crucial for executing an effective pickleball smash, helping you generate power and avoid injuries. Spotting the ball and positioning your paddle correctly can improve the accuracy and power of your pickleball smash. Perfecting your contact and maintaining a steady head position are essential for a great pickleball smash. Adding power to your smashes can be achieved by stepping into your swing and transferring your weight effectively. Understanding the difference between a put-away shot and an overhead smash will enhance your overall game. Why Footwork is Crucial for the Pickleball SmashProper footwork is an integral component of executing a successful pickleball smash. Not only does it contribute to generating power, but it also plays a crucial role in avoiding injuries on the court. By mastering the art of footwork, you can enhance your smash technique and become a formidable opponent on the pickleball court. When it comes to footwork, the first step in executing a pickleball smash is all about pivoting. As you prepare to make the shot, pivot back with your non-dominant foot, positioning yourself in the optimal position for power and control. This pivot sets the foundation for a strong and explosive smash. After the initial pivot, the next important aspect of footwork is shuffling. By shuffling your feet, you ensure that you maintain balance and stability throughout the shot. This dynamic foot movement allows you to generate power from your lower body and transfer it smoothly into your swing, maximizing the impact of your smash.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdjEBqih_2QIt\'s essential to note that backpedaling during a pickleball smash can lead to trips, falls, or violations. To avoid these potential pitfalls, establishing a pivot and maintaining proper footwork is crucial. By focusing on your footwork, you can enhance your overall technique and reduce the risk of unnecessary injuries that may hinder your game.\"Proper footwork sets the foundation for a powerful and injury-free pickleball smash.\"By prioritizing footwork in your training and practice sessions, you can develop the agility and explosiveness needed to execute a formidable pickleball smash. Remember, footwork isn\'t just about power; it\'s about establishing a solid foundation and maintaining stability for a controlled and effective shot. The Benefits of Proper Footwork: Generates power Enhances balance and stability Reduces the risk of injuries Improves overall technique Spotting the Ball for a Successful Pickleball Smash TechniqueOne of the key elements in mastering the pickleball smash is the ability to spot the ball with precision. This crucial skill allows players to time their contact with the ball and transfer their weight effectively, resulting in powerful and accurate smashes. To spot the ball, it is essential to use your non-dominant hand to track its movement. By keeping your eyes focused on the ball and following its trajectory, you can anticipate its location and prepare for the perfect contact point. This visual tracking enables you to position your paddle just behind your head, ready to strike. As the ball approaches, it\'s crucial to make contact just in front of your head. This ensures that you are hitting the ball at its highest point, maximizing your power and control. By maintaining your focus on the ball throughout the entire swing, you can enhance the accuracy and precision of your pickleball smash.Transferring Weight for Added PowerAnother vital aspect of a successful pickleball smash is transferring your weight into the shot. As you spot the ball and prepare to strike, it\'s essential to shift your weight from your back foot to your front foot. This weight transfer adds power and momentum to your swing, allowing you to generate even more force behind the shot.By transferring your weight smoothly and efficiently, you can maximize the power of your pickleball smash and increase the difficulty for your opponents to return the shot. Practice this transfer of weight during your training sessions to develop a consistent and powerful swing. Key Points for Spotting the Ball Key Points for Weight Transfer Use your non-dominant hand to track the ball\'s movement Shift your weight from your back foot to your front foot Position your paddle just behind your head Transfer weight smoothly and efficiently Make contact just in front of your head Maximize power and momentum Perfecting the Contact for a Great Pickleball SmashTo achieve a perfect pickleball smash, the key is to make contact with the ball as if giving it a high five with your paddle. This technique allows for a smooth and controlled hit, maximizing your power and accuracy. It\'s important to focus on hitting the ball at the fullest extension of your arm without overreaching, maintaining a continuous motion from your backswing to the point of contact.Keeping your eye on the ball throughout the entire swing is crucial. This ensures that your paddle connects with the ball at the right time and with the right force, leading to a successful shot. Additionally, maintaining a steady head position at contact allows for better control and prevents mishits.Here\'s a breakdown of the ideal contact for a great pickleball smash: Start with a solid backswing, positioning your paddle behind your head. Rotate your body and transfer your weight into the shot as you swing forward. Extend your arm fully, making contact with the ball at the peak of your swing. Imagine giving the ball a high five as you strike it with your paddle. Follow through with your swing, allowing your arm to naturally continue its motion. This continuous motion, from backswing to follow-through, ensures smooth and efficient energy transfer, resulting in a powerful and accurate pickleball smash.Common Mistakes to Avoid Avoid getting too close to the net when making contact with the ball. This can lead to hitting the ball into the net instead of over it. Maintain a safe distance and focus on making solid contact at the right height. Tips for Practice Work on your timing by practicing hitting the ball at different heights and speeds. Use a practice partner or a wall to simulate game-like situations and improve your reaction time. Focus on maintaining a relaxed grip during your swing, allowing for smooth and controlled contact. Vary your shot placement and angle to keep your opponents guessing and improve your overall strategy. By perfecting the contact for your pickleball smash, you can enhance your performance on the court and achieve more powerful and accurate shots. Practice the techniques mentioned above, and soon you\'ll see significant improvements in your game. Practice these techniques regularly, maintain proper form, and watch your smashes become even more formidable.Understanding the Difference Between a Put-Away Shot and an Overhead SmashIn the game of pickleball, it\'s important to distinguish between a put-away shot and an overhead smash. While they may seem similar, these two shots require different techniques and strategies for optimal execution and effectiveness.A put-away shot, as the name suggests, is a shot that allows you to \"put away\" the ball and win the point. This shot usually occurs at a lower height, closer to the net. It requires precise accuracy and controlled power to ensure the ball lands in the desired location. The key to a successful put-away shot lies in technique and finesse. On the other hand, an overhead smash is a shot intended for higher lob balls that give you more time to position yourself and generate power. This shot allows you to bring a more forceful impact to the game. By positioning yourself beneath the ball and using your momentum, you can deliver a powerful, downward strike that is difficult for your opponents to return.Understanding the differences between a put-away shot and an overhead smash can significantly improve your overall game. It enables you to assess the situation on the court and choose the most appropriate shot based on ball height, positioning, and the desired outcome. Whether you\'re aiming for accuracy with a put-away shot or looking to end a rally with an overhead smash, honing these pickleball techniques will elevate your performance.\"Mastering the techniques for a put-away shot and an overhead smash is crucial for players looking to dominate the game with accuracy and power.\" - Pickleball Pro Kevin JohnsonTo further illustrate the distinction between the two shots, let\'s examine a comparison: Put-Away Shot Overhead Smash Low ball height High ball height Focus on accuracy Focus on power Controlled finesse Forceful downward strike By recognizing the unique characteristics and requirements of each shot, you can refine your pickleball techniques for accuracy and power, giving you a competitive edge on the court.Techniques for a Successful Overhead SmashTo execute a successful overhead smash, it\'s important to start with the right grip and position yourself properly. Using a continental grip and adopting the correct footwork and positioning can enhance your power and control. Additionally, preparing by raising your non-dominant hand and positioning your paddle behind your dominant ear can help generate momentum and power for the shot.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJRKYD6uhvMOne of the most crucial aspects of a successful overhead smash is the grip. The Continental grip, which is commonly used for overhead shots in tennis, is also well-suited for pickleball. This grip allows for a more natural motion and provides a stable foundation for powerful and accurate smashes.Your footwork and positioning play a significant role in executing an effective overhead smash. Start by positioning yourself slightly behind the incoming ball to allow for optimal contact and power. As the ball approaches, take a small step forward and transfer your weight onto your front foot. This movement will create the momentum needed to generate a powerful smash. Before making contact with the ball, raise your non-dominant hand to help maintain balance and control. This gesture also acts as a visual cue for timing the shot. Position your paddle behind your dominant ear, ready to swing forward and generate maximum power. As you swing forward, focus on making clean contact with the ball slightly above your forehead. Keep your eye on the ball throughout the motion to ensure accurate timing and placement. Follow through with your swing, extending your arm fully to maximize power and control.Practicing these techniques consistently will allow you to develop a strong overhead smash that can be an effective weapon in your pickleball arsenal. Remember to maintain proper grip, use correct footwork and positioning, and generate power through momentum and follow-through. With dedication and practice, you\'ll become proficient in executing successful overhead smashes during your pickleball matches.Improving Your Put-Away Shot in PickleballIn order to improve your put-away shot in pickleball, it is essential to focus on your technique and eliminate unnecessary backswing. By implementing specific pickleball techniques and positioning your paddle correctly, you can enhance the accuracy and precision of your shots. Regular repetition and deliberate practice are key to achieving a more accurate put-away shot. One of the first aspects to consider when improving your put-away shot is the movement from the ready position to your ear. This movement should be smooth and fluid, allowing for a quick and efficient transfer of energy. Pickleball for Beginners: Tips and Tricks to Get You Started
Tumblr media
Pickleball is a fun and fast-paced sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It's easy to learn and a great way to stay active. If you're new to pickleball, here are some tips and tricks to help you get started and enjoy the game.
Understanding the Basics
Before you hit the court, it's important to understand the basic rules and equipment involved in pickleball. The game is played on a court similar to a badminton court but with a lower net, and you use a paddle and a perforated plastic ball.
Equipment You Need:
Paddle: Lightweight paddles made of wood, composite, or graphite.
Ball: A perforated plastic ball, similar to a wiffle ball.
Court Shoes: Comfortable shoes with good support and grip.
Learn the Rules
Pickleball has simple rules that are easy to pick up. The game can be played as singles or doubles. Here are some key points:
Basic Rules:
Serve: The serve must be made underhand and diagonally crosscourt.
Double Bounce Rule: The ball must bounce once on each side before players can volley (hit it in the air).
Scoring: Only the serving team can score points. Games are usually played to 11 points, and you must win by 2 points.
Master the Serve
The serve is crucial in pickleball as it sets the tone for the rally. Practice serving underhand, ensuring the ball lands in the correct service court. A good serve can give you an early advantage in the game.
Tips for a Good Serve:
Consistent Toss: Keep your toss consistent for better control.
Follow Through: Ensure a smooth follow-through to direct the ball accurately.
Mix it Up: Vary your serves with different speeds and angles to keep your opponent guessing.
Improve Your Footwork
Good footwork is essential in pickleball to reach the ball quickly and maintain balance. Practice moving side-to-side and front-to-back, staying light on your feet. This will help you react swiftly to your opponent's shots.
Footwork Drills:
Side Shuffles: Move laterally across the court without crossing your feet.
Forward and Backward Sprints: Practice moving towards the net and retreating quickly.
Pivoting: Work on pivoting efficiently to change directions.
Develop Your Shots
Pickleball involves a variety of shots, each with its own purpose. Here are some important shots to practice:
Key Shots:
Dink: A soft shot that lands just over the net in your opponent's non-volley zone, forcing them to move forward.
Volley: Hitting the ball in the air before it bounces, used to keep the rally fast-paced.
Smash: An aggressive shot aimed downward, usually executed when the ball is high.
Play Smart
Strategy plays a big role in pickleball. Here are some tips to outsmart your opponent:
Strategic Tips:
Target Weaknesses: Observe your opponent's weak spots and aim your shots accordingly.
Stay at the Net: Controlling the net can give you a significant advantage. Move forward quickly after serving or returning serve.
Communicate: If playing doubles, communicate effectively with your partner to cover the court efficiently.
Practice Regularly
Like any sport, regular practice is key to improvement. Play with others, join local pickleball clubs, and participate in friendly matches to gain experience and confidence.
Practice Ideas:
Drills: Set aside time for specific drills to improve your serves, volleys, and dinks.
Matches: Play full games to work on your strategy and adaptability.
Lessons: Consider taking lessons from experienced players or coaches to refine your skills.
Enjoy the Social Aspect
One of the best parts of pickleball is its social nature. It's a great way to meet new people and make friends. Join local leagues or clubs to connect with other players and enjoy the community aspect of the sport.
Social Tips:
Be Friendly: Greet new players and be welcoming.

This article delves into the innovative solutions of Pickleball Fencing for Noise Reduction and Pickleball Sound Deadening Fence Panels that promise a quieter and more enjoyable playing experience.
Tumblr media
The Echo of the Court: Understanding the Noise Issue
Pickleball is a lively and engaging sport, but it comes with a distinctive popping sound that can be disruptive, particularly in densely populated neighbourhoods. The noise is generated when the paddle strikes the plastic ball, and it can be amplified by the court's surroundings. This has led to complaints from residents living near pickleball courts, prompting the need for effective noise reduction solutions.
Silencing the Court: The Role of Pickleball Fencing
The first line of defence against pickleball noise is proper fencing. A well-designed fence not only keeps the ball within the court but also acts as a barrier to sound waves. Pickleball Fencing for Noise Reduction is precisely engineered to absorb and deflect sound, minimizing the noise that escapes into the surrounding area. These fences are constructed from materials that have acoustic properties, such as mass-loaded vinyl or composite materials, which are effective in dampening the sound.
Enhancing Quiet Play: Pickleball Sound Deadening Fence Panels
Taking noise reduction a step further, Pickleball Sound Deadening Fence Panels are an advanced solution that can be integrated into existing fencing. These panels are designed to absorb even more sound, significantly reducing the noise level emanating from the court. They are typically made from high-density materials that trap and dissipate sound waves, ensuring that the joy of the game doesn't become a nuisance to others.
Installation and Maintenance: Ensuring Long-Term Effectiveness
For optimal noise reduction, it's crucial that these fencing solutions are correctly installed and maintained. The height and placement of the fence play a significant role in its effectiveness. Regular maintenance is also essential to ensure that the fence continues to function as intended, providing a peaceful environment for both players and nearby residents.
Pickleball is a sport that brings people together, but it's essential to address the challenges that come with its growth, such as noise pollution. By implementing Pickleball Fencing for Noise Reduction and Pickleball Sound Deadening Fence Panels, communities can enjoy the game without compromising the tranquillity of their surroundings.
