#Plagg and the Butterfly Costume

Felix stole Adrien’s shoes. He played innocent when Adrien asked about it, insisting that these plain white shoes were Adrien’s all along, that no one in their right mind would have chosen to wear orange shoes. It wasn’t the orange Felix actually objected to, though—it was the logo of a butterfly on the heels. Even if Adrien didn’t know Gabriel Agreste’s connection to the creature, Felix did. It was better, Felix decided, to erase all signs of the self-proclaimed ‘Monarch’ before the truth came out and people saw his cousin with such an… unfortunate advertisement on his person. Just a quick switch with a pair of Felix’s nondescript shoes that just so happened to be the same size, and the crisis would be easily side-stepped.

Adrien found himself accepting the absence of his orange shoes more easily than he would have thought. He wasn’t a model for the Gabriel brand anymore, he could afford to wear something else now. These new shoes could be the first step to a whole new Adrien!

Except… he couldn’t for the life of him figure out what he’d want to change. He tried to write down ideas, but he kept erasing each one off his whiteboard until it was as blank as when he’d started. Everything he thought of, it was too much like someone else’s style, not his. There wasn’t anything that he felt happy claiming as Adrien Agreste’s.

Plagg, thankfully, put him out of his misery by suggesting that he work on something else. Like maybe, if he really wanted a makeover, he could do it for his Chat Noir costume instead. Adrien jumped on the idea, sketching out his current costume and it was so easy. Leather strips on his sides. A paw print on his back. Slight points at the bottom of his mask that he thought were reminiscent of fangs. In hardly any time at all, he transformed and leapt outside to show off Chat Noir’s new look to all of Paris.

Ladybug squealed in delight at seeing her partner’s new form. She decided that she wanted to follow suit with her own suit (and, if she was being honest with herself (which she wasn’t really), maybe distance herself a little bit from who she was during Hawkmoth’s reign of terror). Besides, she couldn’t resist the opportunity to design her own clothes! (and, now that she thought of it, her wardrobe could use an update too…)

Ladybug wasn’t the only one who was lured in by the call of clothing design. Pretty much every other hero of Paris saw the duo they all looked up to changing their costumes and decided to get in on the action. For many, the realization that they didn’t have to be only who they were when they first got their miraculous was liberating, they knew now that they could be more intentional about their identity and who they could become. For many, too, this exploration of self bled into their civilian styling, prompting a sort of Renaissance as they all tried out new clothes, new hairstyles, new makeup… everything that made them feel like them.

Adrien Agreste, though, stayed the same. Okay, maybe his hair was left alone to grow, and maybe he didn’t look as polished as when his clothes were all managed for him. But, besides the clean white shoes, he didn’t have anything truly new. He decided he would worry about it later—he still had people in his life who liked him well enough like this (and, maybe, he wouldn’t have to deal with his subconscious fear that if he changed too much, the people he cared about wouldn’t like the ‘Adrien’ who emerged) (and, maybe, he wasn’t quite ready to cut off his connection to his father, not when he was still so uncertain about how he felt about the man who was both harmful and hero, someone he loved and couldn’t stand). For now, he would just be a caterpillar in its cocoon, taking his time on figuring out the person Adrien Agreste could be, and becoming him when he was ready.

True contest winner

Gabriel Agreste decided to host a Halloween costume contest. It was very exciting for many who signed up or knew about it at least… except for Marinette, she wasn’t signing up for it even after she found out. The reason?

Lila signed up for it and she was certain that if she did too, Lila would either sabotage her or lie about her entry. As a result, she wasn’t signing up no matter what… until Adrien Agreste found out and was determined to change her mind. And considering he is her boyfriend and how he could annoy her… it wasn’t long until she gave in and signed up like he wanted her to do.

Mari works very hard on her entry, Adrien knew that Lila might plan something so he was determined to protect Marinette from her no matter what. The day comes and Mari get’s there with her gorgeous Monarch butterfly costume, many who see it gasp or look at it in awe as Adrien looks at his girlfriend proudly “My girlfriend is an amazing designer” he would tell others while pointing to Mari… but Lila looked pissed towards Mari.

Not wanting her to win she turns to Alya and cries “Alya! She did it! Marinette stole my design for the contest and is using it! This is why I had to drop out last minute! I didn’t have another design ready to make in time!” she cried which angered Alya greatly.

But Adrien heard and already came prepared…

As Alya runs off to report Mari, Adrien send Plagg to Mari’s bag to get the sketchbook Mari used to draw out her design, Tikki was informed by Plagg and helped him grab it and return with the sketchbook to Adrien.

A while later, Alya returns with a huge grin on her face with Gabriel at her side. They both stand before Marinette “I was informed you committed theft?” he asked and before Mari could speak, Lila jumps in and spins a tale on how Mari stole the design from her.

People and other contestants began to whisper and Mari became nervous as what she thought would happen began to come true right before her eyes. Just as Gabriel was about to speak… Adrien speaks “Lila and Alya are both lying and I have proof!” he said making everyone turn to look at him.

Lila looked amused at his claim but decided to keep quiet for now… while Alya looked pissed… until Adrien presented to his father Mari’s sketchbook “Inside are the sketches she made of her costume design. You can even see where she thought about signing her name before deciding on a spot!” he pointed out which made Gabriel move to examine the work and confirmed Mari’s signature.

“It would seem you are correct Adrien. This is indeed miss Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s original work” he declared making everyone cheer at the good news. Then Gabriel turned to glare at Alya and Lila “Care to explain the reason behind your lie and attempted theft?” he asked making the two girls go pale as everyone looked at the two of them.

Alya claimed it to be all Lila and repeated the story Lila told her. Lila of course panicked and tried to lie her way out but the damages were already done. Both of them were banned from all contests that Gabriel would host because of there actions, Lila storms away in anger while Alya watches Mari and Adrien kiss as he hugs Mari.

The next day, Alya discovers that Mari won the contest and was getting a summer internship working under Gabriel, the girl looked very happy since Adrien was telling everyone that she would also be working with him and was promised to design an entire collection before the end of the summer “I’m so excited! Father even allowed me to model her collection!” he said with a huge grin as everyone cheered for Mari… all without Alya with them.

She regrated siding with Lila in the end… had she not maybe she would have been there with Adrien as Mari won…

Alya finds her special interest in the Miraculous and everything concerning them.

She had to quit her blog early on because she had managed to post a few theories that were a bit too close to reality and Ladybug gave her a visit to shut that shit down. Of course, Alya took it for the opportunity it was and questioned Ladybug for long enough to have her detransform into Marinette. Whoops.

She ends up meeting Fu and studying under him after running Marinette so ragged with questions, the girl transferred her over to the guardian. She doesn’t have much time to spend with the man, though, before he loses his memory through transferring guardianship to Marinette.

When Marinette becomes the guardian, it is possibly the best day of Alya’s life (“Sorry, Netta!”). She’s always over to study the box, looking through every compartment it has and testing Marinette’s control of it in and out of the costume.

She wants so badly for Marinette to just give up the box to Alya and is barely keeping herself from asking because she knows that Marinette would lose her memories (which intrigues her even more. Like. What are the mechanics in play? How far does it go? What is the metric for deciding which memories to take?)

She’s entirely into Marinette’s potion making, even taking over the project after Mr. Pigeon’s 72 akumatization to give Marinette a (permanent) break. She’s not only looking for better and quicker ways to achieve the same result, but also trying to create new potions without breaking some cosmic law (yes, the actual laws that govern the universe. Wayzz taught her about them after she had tried to create a new Miraculous and almost had her entire lineage erased.)

She wears and uses miraculous like crazy, testing the limits of the powers and what exactly they can do (lucky charm is always on standby to heal her when she goes too far.) Sometimes, she tries them on friends and teammates alike for a wider range of results, even going as far as testing them on random strangers impromptu participants.

Worst of all, she has beef with Hawkmoth. Not for the terrorism, no; she hates how silly he is with his abilities. Everytime the butterfly is brought up, someone practically has to jump her to get her to shut up about the wasted potential.

He could be doing his job much quicker if he simply treated his kwami right. Despite their God status, they still have needs and wants, both of which keep them at top form if met. The lack of proper utilisation of the butterfly, despite the fact that Hawkmoth clearly knows how to use it says a lot about how Nooroo is treated. (“Did you know they’re called heroes? They aren’t meant to be forced into an unfair contract; it’s supposed to be willing and consensual, not whatever the fuck Hawkmoth has going on. Manipulation of the victim past what was agreed to shows that Nooroo’s magic isn’t cooperating and needs to be forced in order to–.”)

The wish is not a guarantee to fix whatever issue he has, because, as seen from his desperation, he very likely doesn’t have anything of equal or greater worth to give up for what he wants. And that’s not even taking into account that Gimmi could just decide it’s not worth it and split back down to Tikki and Plagg. Destroying and recreating the universe is a lot of work!

He could probably solve his problem by creating a hero with the ability to solve his problem. It is written in the playbook that he stole from the Order!

She wants so badly to meet him and explain this all to his face, but also recognises that they don’t really have time for that. If and when they find him, the danger he poses to the universe is enough to warrant an immediate… termination. So, she helps Marinette look for him, not as Rena Rouge, but as regular old Alya with a knack for investigating; she knows too much about the Miraculous to ever consider wearing any of them full time.

No she won’t stop anyone else from wearing them. She likes having primary evidence of their effects on humans.

Besides. It’s not like they kill people, so there’s not much harm. She just likes keeping her wits about her is all.

I couldn't shake the idea of a mlb au with jayvik off my head so here it goes

Jayce Talis (21 year-old) currently studies his first year of engineering at Piltover University. He's pretty much the popular guy, but still has some people talking ill of him (like Salo yk). Not really fond of being in the spotlight tho. He's the second best student in his career, and he also practices sports but outside the college. Also his family are all blacksmiths and make hammers.

Heimerdinger gave him the Ladybug Miraculous in order to take back not only the butterfly miraculous but also the black cat miraculous. Heimerdinger didn't explain to him why he had to take back the black cat one, like Jayce understood why he had to take the butterfly (because of the trauma and the pain it was causing to society) but he didn't have clear why he had to take the black cat, and the next time he meets Heimerdinger, he gave him the miraculous box and Jayce became the new guardian of the box (everything was done, the water, ice, space, fire, etc power ups and all that) but he had no idea how to handle his own miraculous! Imagine the entire box. So he doesn't take the black cat miraculous, instead, he leans and relies on his partner.

Gold Bug since he's the "Golden boy of Piltover" in Arcane and lots of golden motifs in his costume. And he also carries that big ass hammer with him. He has the rune carved into the forearm of his costume too!! Yeah the earrings resemble little hammers, or at least that was the intention.

Viktor Rift (22 year-old) currently studies his second year of engineering at Piltover University. He's not very popular, he's the best student in his career and does not know Jayce, he just heard about him, but doesn't really care about his existence. He plays the bass on a rock band named "Jinx", with Vi (drums), Powder (vocals), Ekko (keyboard), Claggor (keyboard) and Mylo (bass). Obviously they're of a similar age, let's say Powder and Ekko are the same age as Viktor and the rest are just a bit older, a year or two. He has a deformation on his leg and so he has to walk leaning on a cane. It's not a degenerative disease tho. His father is Singed, a well-known scientist, and thanks to that, he met Sky at a science conference and they kinda made friends. He had an older sister but due to the accident which left his leg like that, she died, or at least that's what his father told him.

One day he found a strange box hidden between grass and plants besides a waterfall and driven by curiosity, he decided to open it. It was a miraculous, specifically the black cat one. Heimerdinger lost it along with the butterfly, actually it was Singed, his former colleague, who robbed them, but Singed also lost the black cat in the fight. Heimerdinger feels the black cat miraculous is being used, and he looks for a ladybug who can take it back, since that miraculous is broken. Viktor doesn't know that, and so, he starts using it, slowly feeling weaker and weaker. He isn't stupid, he knows the miraculous is killing him day by day, but when he's using it, he doesn't have the leg issue, and he also doesn't feel ill, he feels powerful and capable for the first time since the accident, and seeing how Gold Bug puts so much trust in him, he feels like he's equal to someone for the very first time. That's how his self-destructive tendency develops until his partner finds out.

Dark hex sounds like a good name, don't ask. His costume is clearly asymmetrical, the void on his chest is due to the shot he received in the series but also because Plagg's real form has that thing right on the chest too. The touch of the arcane on his forehead yay! Whenever he uses the cataclysm he leaves the arcane pattern on whatever he touches instead of reducing it to ashes, and his hand turns that purplish hue reassembling the machine-herald's "skin" texture. Also the hexclaw is the end of his tail. I really like the details of the small cables all over the costume, and the hexstone being the bell is kinda cute actually. He has the cool hair too. His surname is because he comes from the undercity, concretely from the fissures, and the discharged ring is like the thing where they put hextech on before it starts spinning. Annnnd his moles are little stars.

The love square is basically like in mlb

Viktor/Dark Hex likes Gold Bug because he can be himself fully with him, and Jayce/Gold Bug, firstly just admires Viktor resilience and confidence, and then those feelings turn into love as he knows more of Viktor (he likes his intelligence and all that).

Also they met because Cait (Jayce's childhood friend, almost like his blood sis) assisted in a music festival (she plays the violin or something like that) and there she met Vi and "Jinx", and she begged Jayce to go with her to visit Vi and the band again. Jayce was like "i didn't know the best student played the bass" and Viktor just "and I didn't know the second best looks like a jock" but like in an offensive way 😭

And yeah, Singed being hawk moth just fits so well. If you want to give some suggestions I'm open to reading them, i don't have all the universe built so i can still change things. Of course Mel is like Jayce's acquaintance, they aren't especially close, but they practice sport together or something.

I was thinking of Powder having the rat, Ekko the snake, Vi the tiger, Mylo the monkey, Claggor the bull, Cait the peacock (?, Mel would have either the dragon or the fox, not sure about Sky, maybe the turtle (? And idk, I'll draw more ig 👹

In my au, Marc starts off even more reserved than canon, he starts with his Beta design- or a version of it i guess. He gets a make over after being inspired by Nath/Rouges, and probably encouraged by Plagg.

Extra elaborating on how id change the episodes below.

During Origins/Stone heart, they dont fuck up because Alaise Rouge forgets to purify the akuma, but because he *cant reach it* in time.

This is because (and dont hate me on this hot take) Nathaniel sucks balls at teamwork. He'd describe humself as a lonewolf- or.. bug i guess. Atleast at first. And Marc conceeds too easily.

Rouge, though hes not called that in the begining (he also sucks ass at names too, so he puts it off as long as possible, probably introduces himself as Bug Boy, gets cringed at by local hobbyist author nameless-cat-boy who have not met out of costume yet, and promptly keeps that shit to himself) is a bit of a prick, he doesnt work in a team, and hes up front about it. I dont need your help, i dont work with other people. Excetera, excetera.

Understandably putting Marc off from the hero biz- until its shown on live TV Rouge *ahem* sorry 'Bug Boy'... is unable to catch the akuma on his own. The ladybug is able to scrape by a win and free the akuma- and despite saying he works alone, he was only able to win because Alix was there to help, same as canon. Though she doesnt have any super hero powers to help corner the escaped butterfly, and with the ladybugs current users weapon being a hammer, he cant quite reach the bug that flies.

Both of our heros have an "oh fuck-" realisation moment.

The ladybug apologises after a long scolding by Tikki, and the cat works up his nerves to try again after encouragement by Plagg. Both are off to a bad start with one another and their relationship isnt that great in the beginning, but they know that the only way to help the city is together.

So reluctantly they work together to neutralise the threat and announce their partnership and loyalty to the people of paris.

And things move forward.

OKAY ramble time, because I’m so sick of making Miraculous AUs, and giving miraculous to secondary characters, when most of the powers are so similar. I do LOVE them all, and their costumes, just putting that here.

Tikki, Power of Creation, Ziggy, Power of Creation, Peacock, Power of Creation. Heck! You can even go as far as saying Fox has the power of creation!

Rabbit, Power of Time and Portals, Horse, Power of Portals, Snake, Power of Time.

Butterfly, Power of Granting Superpowers, Rooster, Power of Granting Superpowers. Also, the Rooster has the limitation of not giving the same powers as other Miraculi, BUT, we KNOW the Butterfly can grant Miraculi powers (Volpina)

Ox, Power of Protection, Turtle, Power of Protection

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE all these Kwamis and the costumes, like.. Rooster and Fox are my favorite designs probably. But.. c’mon. Originality maybe? The Kwamis are supposed to represent the concepts of the universe. With some I understand! Creation(Tikki), Destruction(Plagg), Emotion(Dusuu), Protection(Wayzz), Love(Daizzi), Time(Fluff), heck, I understand concepts like Action(Pollen), Manifesting(Noroo), Power(Roaar), but there are others that make no sense, are repeats, or are just poorly done! With the Monkey, I love the concept of Chaos, but it’s so lame when used, the Tiger is also really boring, and the Ox is just.. useless most times! There are some that I don’t understand the concept of, but love the power. The dog? Awesome! Dragon? Sick af! And others that I don’t understand the concept, and the power is lame! Mouse? Really boring. Ox, again, not useful. Horse? We’ve got Rabbit who can do way more way cooler!

Cobra Kai: Made Miracles AU

An AU that combines two of my current hyperfixations: Miraculous Ladybug and Cobra Kai. This is basically me just dropping the Miraculouses and all their lore in the Cobra Kai verse and using my writer brain to string them to the main characters and see how it would all effect the plot.

Yes, I am a MADMAN the likes of Frankenstein cannot measure up to, putting two shows that are completely opposite tones and forms of media together.

I know I have more Cobra Kai followers than Miraculous followers so allow me to explain; all you need to know about Miraculous for the sake of this AU is that it's a kids show that revolves around these magical jewels called, well, the Miraculous, each one containing the metaphysical personification of a major universal concept. The main two jewels, The Ladybug and Black Cat, the jewels of Creation and Destruction respectively, are used by two heroes to fight against the shenanigans of the Butterfly Miraculous, the jewel of Transmission, who uses their power to turn random people into supervillains by enhancing their negative emotions and transmitting it into magical power.

The superhero stuff would probably be the B Plot, while the karate and parental drama is still the A Plot. It's basically Cobra Kai except almost half of every episode is taken up by two teens saving the day with magical jewelry. Speaking of teens, I suppose I should answer the question of whose getting what Miraculous, more specifically, the Ladybug and Black Cat. Now, I have an interesting idea for that. But I'm gonna go into it in a character format. Firstly...

Miguel Diaz | Mariquita

Okay, so it might be super obvious that Miguel gets the Ladybug. He emits main character energy, he's creative, he has a heart of gold, and he's also a bit of a dork. Perfect for Tikki.

I imagine he'd get it randomly at a convenience store, he sees the earrings and thinks they'd be a good gift for his mom, so he spends all of his allowance on it. The moment he opens the box, Tikki pops up and explains the whole gist to him. Meanwhile, Miguel's over here freaking the fuck out internally because this is JUST like the comics. He takes the chance without a second thought, while Tikki's explaining he's literally taking notes, studying, even drafting up superhero costumes. When he makes his first superhero debut, he's geeking out internally, geeking out worse when he meets his partner.

His costume as Mariquita would probably be Kamen Rider inspiried. Starting with a red segmented chestplate that goes down to right above his midsection with a pointed triangle-esque finish, the chest plate having a couple black spots across it's segments. His midsection and upper legs are simple, solid black spandex, but he has red boots that go up to his knees and carry the same black spot pattern as his chest plate. He'd have angular steel gauntlets that go up to his elbow and have tiny black blades going up the side like a real ladybug's limbs, and a hard, red, shell-like cape attached to his back from his shoulders. And finally, he'd wear a red helmet with black accents and blue lenses over his eyes, the lenses super expressive like Spider-Man's.

Robby Keene | Abyssian

Gonna make it clear that this is NOT a Kiaz AU, the dynamic between these two is strictly platonic. Picking Robby for the Black Cat because Plagg seems to navigate towards people with parental issues, and it'd be interesting to see how he'd interact with 'bad but sad boy' Robby Keene.

Robby would get his hands on the Black Cat thanks to a scam he pulls on an old lady who didn't even know the ring was so important, and when Plagg pops out, he's very surprised and definitely tries to kill him. Plagg doesn't take it that seriously, though, lol. While Plagg's over here explaining the whole shebang to Robby, he's half cringing and half self-doubting. He's a delinquent at best, how could he be a hero? But he doesn't say that directly, deciding to just do it until he can find somebody to ditch Plagg with.

His costume as Abyssian would would be pretty basic, Robby's not exactly the most fashion-forward person. Plus, he's always been satisfied with the minimum. It would be a black, sleeveless shirt with flat, silver-n-gold shoulder pads, as well as a little silver design at the collar. His forearms would be bare, but he'd have black leather vambraces connected to gloves with claws at the end, as well as black leather grives at the end of his baggy black pants. Now, I actually thought a lot about this, I think Robby would just have an actual cat tail lol. And then he'd just have the mask and the cat ears. It's basic but hey, it's Robby.

And now, there are two important questions for me to answer.

Why aren't Miguel and Robby getting their Miraculous like in the show?

If you don't know, the main characters got their Miraculous because they helped a fallen old man who turned out to be the last guardian of the Miraculous. Miguel and Robby don't get them this way because I personally believe that's stupid and it's way more interesting for them to just stumble upon them. As for the explanation, the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous were scattered across the country because of a plot thing I haven't come up with. And two-

Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Reviews Episode 3-15: Feast

Alright, this is the start of the big episodes in Season 3. The lore ones instead of relationship development that goes nowhere or episodes starring the side characters that I crave more content of. Let's go.

Again with Alya being more reasonable with Marinette and trying to figure out Miraculous lore and Hawkmoth's identity. Also Alix is here!

Ah, so Marinette's worried about Hawkmoth using the publicly-published lore to his gain! If only Ladybug could contact Alya to get the info privately and also clear up some things about Lila claiming to be her bestie...

Wow, taking a random child to become a guardian when he didn't want to? That would lead to disaster, honestly.

Also I guess he lost the Peacock and Butterfly by... tripping? Did they fall into the lava? Did the fall or pressure from a rock on top cause the peacock to break?

"I'm going to take your Miraculouses and leave Paris" and let Hawkmoth rule unreigned?

The fact that Chat was joking around while his Kwami was at risk makes me believe his jokes are at least partially to blow off steam during the situation.

Oh my god. So doing Miracuous hero work is playing superheroes. Good gravy.

Fine lore episode. Feast or whatever the creature's name was coincidentally pretty similar to my "Miraculous Eater" concept in my fic. Here's a pic of one of them. They're purple with a cyan or pink underside, and although the image doesn't show it they're soft invertebrates. I think I should've drawn them with a more concave top like Globox or something.

Anyway, since Chloenette's off the table, what do you think about a Wenclair AU where they end up becoming Superheroes (asks the Superhero fan)? For a bit of added irony (would it be irony?), it's all Wednesday's idea.

It's not really a break, more of me kind of cringing at myself because I keep seeing my own posts (nothing wrong, I'm just awkward xD) but I will keep on posting about them. They're my babies.

Funnily enough, Wenclair superhero AU is just them having a miraculous. Mlb x Wednesday fic, Chloe is an Addams although they're pretty far so she wasn't told about it until they had to meet for a very important event (still deciding on what it is).

Anyways, Chloe is still Queen Bee and Marinette is still Ladybug so I won't use that for the Wednesday squad. Here's my thoughts tho:

Wednesday with the Peafowl. I was thinking of the Butterfly but I find it more suitable for Shinobu (a character from a different fandom). Peafowl since Wednesday has vast knowledge about supernatural beings and well, she likes to experiment. She also likes anything with a 'monster' to it, taxidermy, necromancy probably, plus she can create a playmate or friend for Thing so win-win.

For Enid I'm confused. I was planning for the dog (lmao) just for laughs but the Dog Miraculous won't be too compatible with her. Although I can see her using it whenever she's forgotten something and she's too lazy to find it. The other miraculous for her would be the Cat Miraculous. She and Plagg would be hilarious, especially Plagg's love for stinky cheese and Enid has a very sensitive nose. But mostly because she's still queasy about her destructive habits and Plagg explains to her that destruction is important for it balances out the other concepts of the universe.

Also, the cat costume. I rest my case.

Yoko I'd probably give her Trixx. Personalities match plus she can have an illusion do her bidding like getting some stuff while it's hot outside or she doesn't feel like it. Also, my hc is Yoko knows people well (having to live longer than most people) and can easily copy others if needed.

Bianca I'd give her Sass. Observant, smart, leader type and a strategist. A perfect combination for the snake's powers. They'll have tea and discuss homework or history probably.

Also Sass may or may not let her use his power to insult her mother without her remembering lmao. "Bitch." "Excuse me-" "Second Chance."

Divina gets the Tiger miraculous. I hc her as someone who punches the living daylight out of anyone lmao.

Kent gets the Horse miraculous because he's needed a lot (esp by Bianca). Also, him and Kaalki go get boba and pedicures (Kaalki gets to choose the colors).

Xavier gets the goat miraculous. I will not say more.

Ajax gets the monkey miraculous. He's high most times so it won't really affect his powers (might even make them more ridiculous therefore more effective).

Eugene, best boi. Look I know he's supposed to get the Bee but that's for Chloe so I'm giving him the rooster miraculous. He's smart and just like Wednesday, knows a lot of stuff therefore can make up powers easily without affecting the other holders or duplicating.

Tyler gets no bitches. Jk. Hmmm, I'll probably give him the Pig Kwami. He's good with words, he suddenly gets the power to know people's desires. Bam. Master manipulator.

I think that's all the Wednesday squad. That's just my preference of the Kwami pairings of course, I'm curious about anyone's thoughts about it. Also, Chlonette isn't off the table. You can still send asks about them, I'm just gonna divide my time for all three of my ships because I feel like an absent father *sobs* forgive me, my children.

Hi! I love all of your one-shots! Since it is October, I thought you would enjoy a Halloween idea! The idea is that Gabriel decided to host a Halloween costume contest kind of like the hat contest from the first season. Marinette could be reluctant to participate because she suspects that Lila would try and sabotage her, but Adrien convinces her to sign up. Marinette ends up creating a beautiful monarch butterfly costume. Lila, with the aid of her biggest attack dog Alya, accuses Marinette of stealing the costume from her. But, unknown to Marinette, Adrien had Plagg collect Marinette's sketchpad so that he could prove to his father that Marinette was the original designer of the costume. It's up to you if you decide if that leads to a reveal of their identities or not. I hope you like the idea! Thanks!

This is really good! I do have a Halloween fic planned for the 31 but this i can do because of two things: one it's a contest not a party so it can be posted at anytime and two... you said one of the things i require in order to do a request so no problem!

I made this design first just because I didn't like the Multi-Mouse costume so it inspired my other MLB sketches. The buns on her head and the puffed-up sleeves are supposed to be like mouse ears and her weapon is the tail jump rope in cannon but it disconnects into two whips. Her hair is a black/grey color here with no blue, and her eyes are just black and white but the iris' are heart-shaped purely because I thought it would be cute. I liked the idea of her costumes being more styled to her mother's culture than the skin-tight onesies they have. I feel the Multi-Mouse episode was really underrated and I just loved how op she was wearing All of the Miraculous at once.

Listen LadyBug is such a basic name for her and she's blessed by Tikki, plus Lady Luck just sounds better to me ok? I know she looks like a knight or something but, again, I hate those skin-tight suits. Her hair is fully blue here and put in a bun which you can see in the sketches, her hair clip/tie also has these antenna-like things that stick up which I thought were clever/cute. You can see in the first sketch how the wings work, I mean I just wanted her to have ladybug wings honestly. She can fly in them though, they aren't just decoration or anything. Her eyes are lighter blue than in the civilian sketch as I wanted to show that the magic of the Miraculous was stronger in protecting The Chosens identity by changing specifics of Chosen rather than just, 'Magic', like in the show.

I really like Lady-Noir's eyes here, they're like Chat Blanks glowing blue. She's a kitty with claws and I just really liked this design. I made her really sharp, and I think she'd be more independent and sassy as Lady-Noir. She has a lot of spikes on her and her ears would be more realistic to work shaped like this. I find it funny that I vision her to be the tallest yet she's the only one I zoomed out with when drawing so I could make her boots, making it look like she's supposed to be the smallest.

Aftermath

Plagg is willing to do a lot in order to get more cheese. When he’s spotted one too many times en route to the kitchen, he decides that a disguise is in order. One purple costume later, and Plagg is free to flit down to the kitchen without people thinking that he’s a rat.

Nino and Alya hurried along the sidewalk towards the Dupain-Cheng bakery early Sunday morning. As they crossed the street, Nino checked his phone again and frowned.

Adrien hadn't answered any of his messages yet. Nino had texted him the second that he had heard that Adrien's father had been arrested the previous day, and then had texted several times since, but he had gotten nothing. In fact, according to his phone, his texts hadn't even been read yet.

Surely Adrien's phone hadn't been confiscated by the police when they were collecting evidence for whatever had gotten Mr. Agreste arrested? Nino knew that his best bro wouldn't have gotten himself involved in anything illegal on purpose. Maybe Adrien had just turned his phone off and hadn't wanted to talk to anyone, but surely he knew that they would be concerned about him.

"Anything from Adrien yet?" Alya asked over her shoulder as they hurried down another block.

"Nothing."

"Marinette hasn't responded yet, either," Alya said, glancing at her phone and narrowly avoiding walking straight into a lamppost. "She's probably still asleep. Ugh, of all the days for her to sleep in!"

"How serious do you think the charges against Mr. Agreste are?" Nino asked instead of pointing out that Marinette slept in every day that she could. He checked his phone again and refreshed the news page had had pulled up earlier with the news about Mr. Agreste getting arrested. It hadn't been updated at all yet, just a short blurb with the banner Developing Story, just like it had been since the previous afternoon. "Like, I always thought that the dude was an ass but too much of a stick in the mud to actually break the law. The most I can see him doing is maybe a little tax evasion, but would that really require arrest? I would think that there would just be, like, a court summons or something."

Alya just shrugged. "I don't know. We'll have to ask Adrien. Hopefully he'll know something. He might not, though. He might be just as in the dark as we are."

"Surely the police would tell him something," Nino objected. "He'd have to know how long his father is going to be in jail." He couldn't imagine that the police would keep something like that from Adrien. It would make his friend super-worried, and Adrien had already been off in school for the past few days, and just slightly distracted for a few weeks, though he had done his best to hide it. It wouldn't be long before Adrien's distracted behavior started affecting his grades for good.

Wait...was it possible that Adrien had suspected something was going on with his father before, and that was why he had been off before? That would have stunk, having to deal with that all on his own.

Even worse- what if Adrien had been the one to call the police on his father? Would he have even done that?

"If Marinette is still sleeping, shouldn't we just go to Adrien's house first?" Nino asked anxiously when another worried glance at his phone revealed that his messages still hadn't been read. "I don't want Adrien to think that we've abandoned him just because his dad did something shitty. We should get over to his house right away."

Alya shook her head stubbornly. "It doesn't take that long to wake Marinette up, and she'll want to be there. Besides, maybe we can get something from the bakery to bring to Adrien."

Nino grinned. "Yeah! Some croissants or pain au chocolate for my bro! He loves that stuff. Okay, but we have to hurry. I don't care if we have to drag Marinette out in her pajamas."

Alya laughed, but then stopped and scrambled for her phone as it let out a ding. She pulled it out to look at the message, and her face dropped for a moment. "Oh. Rose, not Mari- Oh! Oh, gosh!" Her eyes went wide and suddenly she shoved the phone into Nino's face. "Oh my god, Nino! Look!"

Prying the phone away from his face so he could actually see it, Nino read the message. "New Miraculous users spotted? Cool!"

"Read the rest," Alya urged.

"Near Adrien's house yesterday around the same time the police were there," Nino finished. "...uh, that is weird. And a little less cool. Do you... do you think that's related somehow?" He couldn't imagine how, really. What would the superheroes want with Mr. Agreste? "Maybe they just saw the ruckus and decided to stick their heads in to investigate."

Alya was frowning. "I'm not so sure about that. If it were just Ladybug and Chat Noir, then sure. They might be familiar enough with Adrien because of the attacks on our school to want to check in on him. But why would there be new ones joining them for that, especially when it was only the two of them for the fight right before that?" Another ding, and Alya checked her phone. "Okay, correction- one new user. Apparently it looked like a turtle and absolutely dwarfed Ladybug and Chat Noir. But my point still stands."

Nino just shrugged. Guessing was honestly probably pretty pointless. Hopefully they would be able to go to the mansion soon and would be able to hear from Adrien himself what had happened. He hoped that they would be able to get through any reporters outside the Agreste mansion, that Nathalie would actually be willing to let them in, and that Adrien would be up to seeing them, even if it was only for a little while.

"Good morning, you two," Sabine greeted them cheerily as soon as they stepped into the bakery. "You're certainly up bright and early. I don't think I've ever seen Marinette up at this time during weekends."

"She never is," Alya agreed cheerfully, hugging her. "Can we go up?"

Something like worry flickered over Sabine's face, and Nino frowned slightly. "Well... I suppose you can go up, but if they're asleep, don't wake them up, okay? The poor dear had a rough evening."

"We won't," Alya assured her, heading back past the counter. Then she paused. "Um..."

"There's a plate of croissants upstairs," Sabine told her. "Let me know if you run out."

"Okay!"

"Are you sure we shouldn't just go over to Adrien's place right away?" Nino asked as Alya charged ahead up the stairs. "Mrs. Cheng said that Marinette had a rough evening- if she's sick or something..."

Alya turned to give him a doubtful look. "She still wouldn't want to miss this, sick or no. She's run on barely any sleep before."

"That's no fun if you're sick, though."

"Then I won't barge in yelling. If she looks really sick, I'll leave her be and we'll just make off with a few croissants." Alya led the way into the living room/kitchen section of the apartment. "You coming?"

Nino considered it. Normally, he would say no right away- walking in on his sleeping friend could be creepy if she hadn't said that she would be okay with it- but he wanted to make sure that Alya didn't wake Marinette up if she looked ill. He knew his girlfriend sometimes acted without thinking things all the way through, and Alya might let her worry about Adrien blind her to how sick Marinette was. "Okay, I guess."

Grinning, Alya led the way up to Marinette's room. Nino followed, making sure to close the trapdoor quietly behind him. Alya didn't even pause before heading up the stairs to the loft, with Nino trailing warily behind.

Maybe he should have just trusted Alya and stayed downstairs. This just felt like an invasion of Marinette's privacy.

"Oh my god."

Frowning, Nino glanced up at Alya. She looked absolutely thrilled about something. "What?"

"Come up here!" Alya hissed in the same tone of voice. She beckoned frantically. "C'mon, quickly!"

Curious, Nino headed up. He glanced down at the bed, expecting to see Marinette and a mountain of tissues and maybe some cough drop wrappers...and instead saw Marinette with Adrien snuggled up to her side, his face pressed into her shoulder and her fingers tangled in his hair.

Oh.

"Well, I guess it's a good thing we didn't go to Adrien's house," Nino managed as Alya snapped a few pictures with her phone, a wide grin on her face. "And- do you think Sabine knows that he's here? Or do you think Marinette smuggled him up and then pretended that she was sick so they wouldn't disturb her?"

"Oh, Tom and Sabine probably know," Alya told him. "If they thought Marinette was sick, they would come up to check on her, not leave her alone. I bet that Adrien was over here visiting Marinette when his father was arrested, and – oh! It was probably Adrien who had a rough evening last night, and, uh- now that I think about it, we should go back downstairs and let them sleep. We'll interrogate them when they come down."

Nino nodded and led the way downstairs. Alya closed the trapdoor behind her, trotted down the stairs, and then let out a long squeal of glee. Nino clapped his hands over his ears.

"They were so cute!" Alya squealed, grabbing Nino's arms. "So cute! Do you think they're dating? I knew something was up when they started hanging out together so much!"

"Adrien's father was just arrested, Alya," Nino reminded her. "Now isn't exactly the time to go asking them about that. Not directly, at least," he added when Alya's expression dropped. "And not right away, either. There'll be time for that later."

Alya made a face, though there was still a distinct air of glee around her. "Oh, I suppose."

They settled on the couch, each snagging a warm croissant from the covered plate on the counter. Alya's attention switched back and forth between the stairs to Marinette's room and her own phone. Her fingers flew as she tried to learn more about the superhero sighting at the Agreste mansion.

"They were there for nearly ten minutes," Alya reported. "And the police arrived just before them, but didn't go in right away." She frowned as she scanned the post. "And then Chat Noir escorted them in. That's weird."

Nino frowned. A possibility was nagging at his in the back of his mind as the clues started to fall into the place, and it wasn't pretty. If it was true...

Nino didn't want to think about it too much. There was no point in jumping to conclusions.

"People weren't kidding when they said that they said that this Turtle dude was huge," Alya commented a few minutes later. She held her phone out. "Look at him! He's an absolute giant. He'll probably be able to just plow down akuma if he joins Ladybug and Chat Noir for future akuma fights, and then just sit on the akuma until Ladybug can purify the butterfly. They won't stand a chance."

Unless there weren't going to be any more akuma attacks, in which case... well, maybe the Turtle could sit on robbers and muggers or something.

Fifteen minutes and several consumed croissants later, Mr. Dupain popped into the room with a covered basket of baked treats. He smiled at the two of them as he plopped the basket down on the counter.

Nino could smell chocolate. He craned his neck, interested. He had an inkling that he would be investigating that basket as soon as Mr. Dupain headed back downstairs.

"Reading about something interesting there, Alya?" Mr. Dupain asked, peering over their shoulders. Alya grinned and nodded.

"Yeah! The superheroes were spotted out and about yesterday half an hour after the akuma attack was over, and there was a new superhero with them!" Alya told him excitedly. She waved her phone at him, but thankfully didn't shove it in Mr. Dupain's face. "And they were spotted at Adrien's place, too!"

For a moment, Nino could have sworn that he saw a flash of something- worry, maybe?- flick through Tom's eyes. But then the moment was gone and Mr. Dupain was smiling down at them again. "Oh, that's interesting. Are there, ah- are there a lot of pictures?"

Alya shook her head. "No, most people apparently hadn't paid a whole lot of attention until after Mr. Agreste was brought out by the police, and by that point the superheroes were mostly inside the house, and then they left pretty fast. There's only a few photos, and a lot of them are blurry. People haven't learned how to change up the settings on their phones and cameras to get the best superhero pics."

"I see."

"Most of the stuff I've found was just blog posts and texts from a couple of our classmates," Alya told him. "It's a pity, because the new superhero looked cool, and how am I supposed to make a Ladyblog post about the new guy if there's no information about him?"

"She's doubly sore because she also missed the other new superhero a couple months ago," Nino told Mr. Dupain. "You remember, the fox that was just here for a few fights, that everyone decided must have been a foreign user that was just in town visiting? Alya was too distracted trying to take care of her sisters to get footage, and didn't see the Fox jump right over her head, and some of her followers have been annoyed at her for it."

Tom chuckled. "Well, your Ladyblog followers just have to understand that you can't be expected to cover the entire city all the time. You can't be everywhere at once."

Alya made a face and slouched. "Tell that to my followers," she muttered moodily. "I gotta find as many sources as possible so I can make some sort of post about the turtle holder. Ugh, and if only I had stayed out a bit longer after the akuma fight was over!"

"Well, I had better get back down to the bakery. I just came up to see if, ah, Marinette was up yet," Tom said, glancing upwards. He looked over at them briefly, looking a little shifty. "Uh..."

"We know Adrien is up there," Nino informed him. "They're cuddling."

"Aha."

"Was he over here when his father was arrested?" Alya wanted to know. Nino sat up in interest as Tom suddenly looked a little trapped.

"He- yes, he was. And- oh, I think it's time for me to get bread out of the ovens! Have some snacks, leave some for Adrien and Marinette, and, uh, see you later!"

With that, Tom was out the door in a flash. Nino was impressed that a man so large could move so fast.

"Bugger, I was going to ask if he knew anything about Adrien's father!" Alya complained. She gave the door Tom had vanished through a disgruntled look. "I would go ask Sabine, but she wouldn't want to say anything in front of the customers."

Nino frowned. "Wait, why would they know anything?"

"Unless the police who came to talk to Adrien talked to him alone and Adrien didn't share, Tom and Sabine and Marinette should all know," Alya explained. "And I can't see Adrien not telling them, just to get things off his chest."

"Would Sabrina maybe have some idea?" Nino suggested. "Her father was probably involved in the rest."

"He was the one who said that the police had no further comments," Alya said. She lit up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "That's it! I'll text Sabina now."

Nino grinned and hopped up to investigate the basket of goodies Tom had left while Alya texted Sabrina. As he returned with a chocolate-filled pastry, Alya's phone dinged with a response. She scrambled to check it, and then her expression dropped.

"Her father is refusing to even tell her anything," Alya reported. "He said that he isn't sharing anything until there's an official announcement."

Nino groaned.

"I just don't understand why the superheroes would be involved in police business," Alya said, flopping against the seat and scrolling through her phone again. "Like, I know they sometimes get called in to help with runaway buses and struggling helicopters and whatnot, but to arrest someone?"

Nino just shrugged. He didn't want to suggest the worse-case scenario that he had thought of, just in case he was wrong. In fact, he was surprised that Alya hadn't thought of the same thing he had.

Maybe she had, but just didn't want to say it.

"Maybe they went through the Agreste mansion during the akuma attack and discovered something illegal," Alya suggested. "But...that still doesn't entirely make sense. Why not just tell the police and then have them go up to the door?"

"Who knows." Nino glanced towards the stairs again, then at his watch. He thought that Adrien at least was usually up by this time, but this wasn't exactly a normal day. Adrien might be asleep for a while yet. Even if he woke up, Adrien might not come downstairs right away if Marinette was still asleep.

They might be waiting for a bit.

It was a full hour and a half more before there was any noise from upstairs. Nino and Alya perked up, both setting aside their phones to stare expectantly at the stairs. It took another fifteen minutes before Marinette came down the stairs followed by a bleary-eyed Adrien. Oddly enough, Marinette actually seemed the more awake one out of the two. She spotted Alya and Nino on the couch first and paused. Adrien walked right into her back and only yawned.

"Nino! Alya! What are you doing here?" Marinette managed. Her voice had turned squeaky, and her cheeks tinted pink as she glanced back at Adrien. He blinked, looking vaguely more awake, and then his eyes slid over to Nino and Alya as well.

Suddenly Adrien looked much more awake.

"We came over to see you guys," Alya told her friend immediately. Then a small smirk slid onto her face. "Well, we came to see Marinette. We weren't expecting Adrien to be over here, too."

Nino noticed as Marinette tensed up slightly, one of her hands sliding back to twine with Adrien's. She glanced back at him, whispering something, and then nodded towards the bathroom door. Adrien nodded and then stepped back, turning to flee into the bathroom while Marinette turned to face them. Clearly she was planning on taking the brunt of the questioning, or maybe she was just stalling for time while Adrien prepared himself.

"We heard that Adrien's father was arrested," Alya told Marinette after the door had clicked shut. "So we were going to come over and collect you before going over to Adrien's house to see him, but then we saw that he was actually over here." She gave Marinette a little smirk, waving her phone with the pictures on it. "You two looked very comfortable cuddled up together."

Marinette turned bright red.

"Do you know what's going on?" Nino asked Marinette. "We've been trying to figure it out, but there haven't been any press releases or anything."

Marinette fidgeted. "It's not my place to say anything," she hedged.

"But you do know."

Marinette paused, then very, very slowly gave a single nod. She glanced back at the closed bathroom door, a concerned look on her face.

Clearly she wasn't going to tell them anything without Adrien's express permission. Nino didn't blame her. He would do the same in a heartbeat, even if it made Alya annoyed with him.

"Is he doing okay?" Nino asked quietly, so Adrien wouldn't be able to hear him from inside the bathroom. "He hasn't read any of my texts from yesterday or today."

"Well, we were asleep this morning," Marinette pointed out. "And we were, uh, busy yesterday. And I think Adrien might have turned his phone off after everything. I know I did." She glanced towards the bathroom door again. "And he's doing about as well as could be expected. He slept well, so there's that."

That was a good sign, or at least so Nino thought. Adrien sleeping meant that whatever his father had done couldn't be that bad, right? Adrien wouldn't sleep if he was really concerned about his father being in jail for a long time. He would stay up worrying himself sick half of the night and then only fall asleep out of exhaustion. He was probably still worried about his father- it was only natural- but whatever the problem was, it couldn't be that severe.

Alya was just as surprised. "He actually fell asleep?"

Marinette looked sheepish. "Weeeellll...we might have given him something to help a bit with that. I don't know if he would have slept very well otherwise."

...okay, so maybe it was serious, then. Nino just wanted to know already.

The bathroom door clicked open and Adrien slid back out. He looked nervous, though Nino didn't understand why. Did he think that they were going to judge him for his father being arrested?

That was not going to fly with Nino. Nuh-uh, no way.

Bouncing up (and brushing off the crumbs from the pastries he had eaten from his pants), Nino crossed the room to engulf Adrien in a giant bear hug. Alya wasn't far behind. Adrien first tensed, then melted into the hug.

"Dude, are you okay?" Nino wanted to know right away, releasing Adrien from the hug and resting his hands on Adrien's shoulders. "Like, what is going on?"

Adrien's smile was definitely on the weak side. "I'm doing okay, I guess. And..." He bit his lip, looking uneasy. Marinette reached over and twined her hand with his. Nino didn't miss the squeeze that passed between them. "And my father...he was Hawkmoth."

And just like that, Nino's worse-case-scenario was confirmed. Alya gasped, looking horrified.

"Really?"

Adrien just nodded.

"Dude."

"Adrien is staying here until the police figure out who is supposed to be taking care of him now," Marinette told them. She sent a shy look in Adrien's direction. "...or as long as he wants to stay, really. We're happy to have him here."

If it weren't for the circumstances, Nino was positive that Alya would have teased her friend about that. He would have teased Marinette about that, and then turned right around to tease his own best friend. As it was, they were a little too focused on Adrien.

"And here I was saying that it couldn't possibly be any worse than a little tax evasion," Nino said in complete disbelief. "I- just wow. Did the police have any idea what kind of sentence he might get yet?"

Adrien just shrugged.

"Did they have any useful information for you, then?" Alya wanted to know. "Or did they just tell you that your father had been arrested and why?"

"Ladybug and Chat Noir stopped by to break the news before Officer Raincomprix got here," Marinette told them. "So really all he told us was that there would be police at the school so reporters wouldn't be harassing Adrien there." She gave them a small smile. "It was good that the superheroes came by first, though. Officer Raincomprix isn't very comfortable with giving people bad news."

"And two untrained superheroes are better at that sort of thing than a police officer that's taken training and classes about that sort of thing?" Alya said incredulously.

"Officer Raincomprix must really suck at breaking news, then," Nino said immediately, because Alya was right. While Ladybug and Chat Noir were good at comforting akuma victims, he really didn't think that that sort of thing completely translated over to telling someone that their father had been a supervillain and had been arrested, especially when the superheroes themselves had been the ones doing the arresting. And dealing with the brunt of the damage and mayhem that the supervillain had caused.

Then again, that sort of thing required tact, and Nino wasn't entirely positive that that was one of Sabrina's bumbling father's strengths.

Marinette and Adrien shared an odd little look, looking strangely amused at that, and Nino had to wonder just how bad of a job Sabrina's father had done when he arrived. Or maybe the superheroes had just done a really stellar job, or maybe the turtle holder had been the one to talk and they just didn't want to mention him so that Alya wouldn't go into super-reporter-mode and start interrogating Adrien.

"We should probably eat," Marinette said before either Nino or Alya could ask any more questions. "It looks like Papa brought up some treats."

"They were warm two hours ago, but who knows about now," Nino said, stepping back to let the two of them through. "Adrien, dude, Marinette is rubbing off on you already. You never sleep this late."

He was glad to see the hints of a smile flash across Adrien's face. "Actually, Marinette woke up before I did. She was waiting for me for a while."

"I'm thinking maybe you should take less of the, uh, sleeping aid tonight," Marinette said with a bit of a rueful look. "Otherwise you'll be impossible to wake up on time for school." A pause. "Unless you just want to skip tomorrow?"

"Haven't decided yet," Adrien mumbled. He fished a croissant out of the basket of pastries and stuck it in his mouth. "I don't really want to have to field a million questions from everyone, but I don't really want to miss class, either."

Nino was 100% positive that he would fight anyone who pestered Adrien. He was pretty certain that most people in their class would back off if told that Adrien didn't want to talk about it- and he could probably rope Ivan and Kim into helping him keep the other students at school away from Adrien without too much effort, too. Chloe would probably be more difficult, if the fact that she had started spamming his phone with texts (presumably after not having gotten any response from texting Adrien) half an hour ago was any indication.

Literally everyone else in the class had just sent him one or two texts asking if he knew anything, but of course Chloe thought that sending thirty texts would make him respond faster. Nino was tempted to put off answering her for even longer, just to be a little petty.

"We can deal with people," Nino promised Adrien. "And if you want us to meet you guys here tomorrow morning so we can all walk together, we can do that. Just say the word."

That got a proper smile out of Adrien.

While Adrien and Marinette ate breakfast, Nino quickly texted their classmates (minus Chloe, of course, and Sabrina, who hadn't texted him at all and who would just run to Chloe with any news), telling them that Adrien wasn't ready to share with the rest of the class yet and asking that they just treat Adrien like normal.

Hopefully they would listen. Adrien looked like he needed a little normal right about now.

As he joined back into the conversation, Nino couldn't help but wonder what Adrien's life was going to look like from here on out. With his mother missing and his father in jail, was he going to be carted off to live with some relative somewhere else in the country? Was he going to stay in Paris, under the watch of his father's secretary? Was Nathalie even going to be able to take care of Adrien? If she had known about Mr. Agreste's supervillain tendencies, she might get jail time as well. What about the Gorilla? Would any of Adrien's former caretakers be free to take care of Adrien so that he wouldn't have to leave the city?

Frowning, Nino shook off the depressing thought. Hopefully the police would take Adrien's wishes into consideration and let him stay in the city with his friends. He had support here, friends and teachers and, well, whatever Marinette was (Girlfriend? Future girlfriend? Cuddle buddy?). Adrien probably wouldn't be allowed to stay at the Dupain-Cheng house long-term (since he was sharing both a room and a bed with Marinette currently), but surely he wouldn't be pulled away from them permanently.

Adrien had already been through so much in the past year. Hopefully the next few months would be calmer and he would be able to recover from everything that had happened.

Because Nino knew that more than anything, his best friend deserved some stability. He deserved guardians that cared for him, he deserved supportive friends that he could hang out with, and most of all, he deserved freedom to enjoy himself like a normal teenager.

Hopefully Adrien would get that soon.

So here’s some things I imagine happen in this

Basically Marinette at some point relinquished guardianship and Ladybug and Chat Noir retired. (Debating to have a little bit of past angst by keeping the memory wipe)

Years later on Emma’s 16th birthday, an akuma crashes through the roller rink. Adrien got everyone to safety and Emma finds a strange box in the room he put her in. Joined by Crimson Bird (we’ll get to her one day), they defeat the akuma and learn of the return of the once thought to be destroyed Butterfly miraculous. Violet Empress

Emma doesn’t know her parents were super heroes and they won’t find out she’s one for a bit.

She’s a roller skating champ and only gets better with the added cat agility. Still crap at walking tho.

Emma is a big fan of the ‘old’ heroes and collects merch from the time. Her dad seems to be very good a sourcing ultra rare ladybug and chat noir stuff…

Once she debuts as Kitty Bo, she finds a Kitty Bo costume in her Dad’s wardrobe. She assumes its for her for the next con as he’d been hinting that with the new Chat Noir someone could have a new costume. Ofc this makes her panic because ‘what if he realises??’. On the day, turns out this costumes for him! Kitty Bo is apparently his favourite ‘new’ hero. While Chat Noir is her’s.

(Secretly they are both very pleased by these facts)

Plagg is ofc delighted his next holder is the daughter of his previous. This leads him to being an annoying little git. The only thing keeping his from running to Adrien is the identity protection thing. Eventually a midnight cheese escapade leads to a very damning sighting by Adrien and some quick lies about needing a quick recharge while patrolling. Adrien starts crying, Plagg leaves, it is all very confusing. Meanwhile Emma is in her room jamming out, unaware her kwami nearly exposed her.

I’m not sure how the reveals will go yet. The AU is Adrien & Emma centric as I think Adrien’s strive to be not like his dad and Emma wanting to live up to her’s in two ways unbeknownst to her is interesting.

The proper reunion is very emotional and Emma lets her dad transform for a bit, giving the public a shock. Marinette gets to borrow Tikki too and they go have a romantic evening on the Eiffel Tower, a defining spot of the relationship they couldn’t visit after giving up the miraculous.

I laughed even if I didn’t have any dialogue (anyone know where to get English sub or dub? I usually wind up finding it on YouTube but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Adrien laughing at Marinette’s antics as Nino is trying to show him a comedy video, golden, love the adrinette (omg his face when he looks at her, ahhh!! It’s so cute!)

Does Harry Clown know the Dupain-Chengs? He seemed really friendly towards all of them (and they to him) for just a costumer. Someone who can translate help please?

Adrien? You okay there? he started out just seeming unsure with the interaction with Mari in line, why you flinching and ducking away? Mari, I think you stop the bit at that point. It could just be avoiding Marinette’s swinging arms but still, he usually just steps back. Actually, he’s seemed really off put by the comedian/his routine this whole episode, does the dialogue give an explanation?

Also, can someone explain exactly what Mari’s plan was? Did she think he liked Harry Clown’s comedy cuz she thought he was laughing at Nino’s video? So . . . she was going to do one of his routines to make him laugh? Was that it?

Loving the camera movement during the action, idk, it seems really nice. Also the lighting in the bakery scene makes it look so soft, I like it.

This akuma was really, aren’t you tiered of being nice, don’t you just wanna go apeshit?

Behind enemy lines

Part 1

Marinette had a strange feeling of being watched. It had been following her for over a week.

In fact, almost from the day that Ladybug began to come to the patrols alone, it seemed to her that someone was following her. But every time she looked around, she never found anyone.

It was only two weeks since the day they found out that Parisian villain was non else then world famous fashion designer Gabriel Agreste. And perhaps it would be a good thing to know your enemy by sight, if only this knowledge didn’t bring some consequences Marinette never expected.

The fight was hard, but they were winning. Ladybug and Chat Noir not only defeated that akuma, but — thanks to the help of Rena Furtive — were able to follow Shadow Math to his lair, that turned out to be Agreste mention.

What they didn’t expect at all — was to find Adrien’s mother in the basement.

Chat Noir was shocked more then she was, and the next moment Marinette understood why.

“Mother.” Chat said, eyes wide open.

Both Ladybug and Shadow Math were stunned by the revelation, that in fact one of the most famous Parisian super hero was Adrien Agreste, not less famous Parisian photo-model.

“Son!” Shadow Math exclaimed solemnly. “Join me! We can save your mother together!”

“How could you?!” Chat Noir’s rage was almost perceptible. “How could you hold her here all those years?! Letting me think she could leave me!” Chat took a fighting stand. “I will never join you!”

“Then I’ll make you join me.” Shadow Math smiled, and let a dark butterfly out of his staff. “You feel the bitterness of betrayal and injustice...” He started, while the butterfly was making its way towards masked Adrien.

“Oh, no, you don’t!” Ladybug yelled, catching it with her yoyo, and letting out the purified one.

This woke Chat Noir up from his anger. He blinked and nodded to his partner.

“Thank you, m’lady.” He turned back to his evil father. “Now let’s take him down.”

“Ha-ha-ha!” Gabriel’s laugh was loud and sounded insane. “Do you think two teenagers can ‘take me down’ that easily?” He asked, grabbing another white butterfly, that immediately became dark in his palm.

“You won’t be able to akumatize us!” Ladybug said, making a step towards him.

“I don’t need to akumatize you to win this battle, fools!” He yelled and let the akuma go, distracting the heroes with an attack.

Ladybug repulsed the attack and left the fight to Chat, while she turned around to catch the akuma. But it was too late, as she saw Natalie standing behind her, already enveloped in a dark mass.

A moment later at Natalie’s place was a dark figure with some sort of white cloak.

“I am Shield.” She said. “And I will protect the once I care about.”

She lifted her shoulders along with the cloak and, turning around herself, disappeared into a white wall of light. The next moment she appeared beside Shadow Math, wrapped a cloak around him and they both disappeared from sight.

The last time Shield reappeared next to the capsule containing Emilie, surrounded the capsule with a wall of light and vanished in the air.

“No!” Chat Noir yelled, rushing towards the capsule, but it was too late.

The silence around them was hard to listen.

Ladybug shivered at the memory, sighed, and continued her patrol.

Almost two weeks since Adrien gave up his miraculous to her.

All three — Ladybug, Adrien and Plagg were silent for a moment. The decision was obvious, but it didn’t make it easier.

The ring couldn’t stay with Adrien, as his identity was known by the worst enemy. Just like he couldn’t use any other miraculous, because his close connection to Gabriel was making him one of his most likely future victims.

Just changing the costume or hiding like Alya did wouldn’t work this time. And Adrien himself wasn’t sure he could keep cold and resist the akuma in case of butterfly coming for him with everything that fell on him that day.

And it was where their next unpleasant, but important decision was made: Adrien had to leave Paris.

Shadow Math was likely to use him somehow, and though Adrien didn’t know Ladybug’s identity, he new some other heroes by name, as well as their strategies, superpower-upgrades, and Ladybug’s weaknesses, that he used to help her to overcome, supporting in her moments of self-doubt.

Plus, staying in the city where people just got to know that your father was a villain — wasn’t the best idea, when you couldn’t really defend your family name.

Maybe Ladybug would keep things about Gabriel being Shadow Math on a low profile if she could, at least for now. But the journalists followed them fighting that day’s first akuma to the Agreste mention, so their conclusions were on the news before Ladybug and Chat noir left the place.

Adrien wanted only one thing — to take his father down. And he wanted it strong enough to understand that the best way for him to help — was to stay as far as possible.

That day, holding crying Adrien in her arms, Marinette understood how much care she had for the boy. She could only see his true self now, the one he used to show as Chat Noir — her funny and brave, cheerful and sensitive friend. And she wanted to take care of him.

As Marinette she promised to Adrien to call him every day, saying that Ladybug gave her this task in case it wouldn’t be safe for her to contact him. She called him ‘Kitty’ by accident, still processing his two guises in her life.

Adrien looked at her with a long studying gaze, and she felt he probably had his suspicions about her identity that moment. But he knew better then to ask her directly, or even think about it for too long. If Shadow Math was to reach him somehow, it was better for Adrien not to know for sure, and they both knew it.

But something changed between them, when they held each other at the airport.

That day Marinette’s feelings for Adrien as a close friend overcame her crush. She could finally see him as a real person, and not as a picture from the magazine. And she treasured it.

Adrien flew to London the next morning. And though they were so far from each other now, Marinette felt like they never were closer, as never their friendship was so strong, not disturbed with her bubbly fangirl adoration anymore.

He was her partner, and it wouldn’t change. Ladybug would return the ring together with Plagg to him once.

Once their enemy was defeated.

Ladybug had another weird feeling of being followed and turned around sharply. She thought she saw a shadow moving behind a chimney, but when she reached it, no one was there.

It was becoming her paranoia.

Ladybug had her own spy — Alya with the fox miraculous in camouflage costume, who was following the fights, but not interrupting, in order to be able to find Shadow Math. It was her that saw him hiding not far from their fight with his akuma that day.

She send this information to Ladybug and the moment she and Chat Noir won over the akuma, they followed the main villain to his headquarters.

It was a good thing Alya haven’t revealed herself that time. They could repeat this trick again and find Gabriel’s new hiding place...

The thought of the spies made Ladybug shiver though. She had the feeling of being followed ever since she came on patrol alone two days after Adrien left. And it never fainted since.

To be honest, she had her suspicions, that now not only Shadow Math could be after the miraculous. If before they could keep some resources, including Ladyblog, on local level, in order not to invite unnecessary attention to the magical jewelry from around the world, now that Gabriel Agreste’s name was involved, the situation was totally different.

Alya analyzed the information, spreading on the global net just a day after the first news report mentioned his name, and concluded, that the news were already all over the world.

So the possibility to fight more power-hungry maniacs on Parisian streets was high, and the shadows, following her patrols, could easily be real, and not commung from Marinette’s tired imagination.

And as far as Ladybug knew from the mayor, Gabriel himself was smart enough to transfer most of his funds to international banks in advance, and perhaps not only under his own name. And until his guilt wasn’t proven and the authorities couldn’t influence it in any way, he had enough financial support to acquire a new den and build new plans for attacks.

For a moment Marinette felt so small and lonely in the world...

No. She shook her head and pursed her lips together stubbornly. She was the guardian. And she wasn’t alone. She had Tikki, and Adrien, and Alya, and Plagg, and all the rest of the qwamies. She had her temporary heroes, ready to help too.

And maybe if the news about the miraculous spread around the villains, they could spread around the heroes as well?

Ladybug turned again, and this time she definitely saw a figure, flashed into hiding behind the wall, and a cape that followed.

“Who are you? And why do you follow me?” Ladybug asked loudly.
