Oh, Lavitz... how right you are. Hopefully, a patch is coming soon. Because the game is pretty broken rn.

Parasite Eve ♥ (1997) Squaresoft - by Evanyell
Been working on this since September. I'm so fucking happy it's done, but more over this is a revision from a piece I did in 2014.
Parasite Eve is a survival horror/scifi/fantasy RPG from Squaresoft back from 1997. The game takes place during December around Christmas time, following the events of a horrific event that took place in NYC's carnegie hall. You play as Aya Brea who is a NYPD officer investigating the events that transpire in the days following the Fire at the Opera. The PS1 game is a sequel to the Japanese horror Movie/ and book which is by the same name.
It is one of the first PS1 games I ever played, and it holds a very special place in my heart.

Having played both Legend of Legaia and Final Fantasy IX recently I can say there are a few similarities…
Legend of Legaia has been accused of being derivative of other games and it’s obvious that’s in reference to the similarities between FFVII’s Gold Saucer and Legaia’s Sol Tower.
But there’s even more in common between Legend of Legaia and FFIX, and Legend of Legaia was the earlier of those two games.
Mist is a thing in both games. It’s a worldwide thing in Legaia, and a larger threat. In IX it’s a byproduct from the Iifa tree and is related to the mass produced Black Mages doing Kuja’s bidding.
In Legend of Legaia its origins aren’t initially known. Soon, though, the Mist is revealed to be flowing from man-made generators, seemingly for the purpose of turning “Seru” into monsters and possessing anyone who wears one. (Seru can be worn akin to an accessory, giving their wearer extra strength, wings, etc.)
Then there’s the similarity between IX’s Gargant and Legaia’s Seru-powered cable cars.
I don’t know where I was going with this. Maybe that, even among retro rpg fans, Legend of Legaia is still less known, less beloved. That makes me sad because I’ve always enjoyed it and think it was an underrated title.
